Speaker 1 (00:00):
Oh Joe.

Speaker 2 (00:00):
Lamar Jackson exited the second quarter with the back injury
and did not return today. John Harbar told reporter Lamar
has a back contusion. Boy Bruce Lamar struggled to walk
out of the locker room after the Speaking with the
reporters after the game, he admitted his frustrations about being
unable to re enter the game.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
Man, it's BS, bro, I can't control that.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
I'm on the ground, I'm down, I gave myself up,
I got kneed in the back, I'm getting injured. Then
we're fighting for a chance to make the playoffs. I
can't finish the game with my guys.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
It's BS, yeah, I say I said that right when
it happened, Hunk, I told you, I told you it
was probably a back Intusian. You get that knee, you
get you get that center, that knee right there in
the wrong spot, man, and that that that's that spot
hardened up. Oh my goodness, boy, yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
They probably you know, when he slid, the flap jacket
went up and that back was exposed and the guy
caught him flood. So who got knee? We were talking
about that earliest this year. Somebody slid down and they
took the knee to the thigh.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
Ooh you get that thigh contusion hurt too.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
The question is, Joe, what do you think you think
your chances are good? They play this week and he
plays this weeknd.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
Let me see just at the back in tusing. Yeah,
because you know how you can play. I don't want
to mention it here on the show, but you know
what he can take. You know what he can do
if he really wants.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
To play them. Guys ain't like that today, O Joe.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
That's the old school bad, my bad, my bad, bad.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
Guys don't be taking them.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
Guys will be on that needle used to well you you,
I don't think you ever took one.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
No, just just me just to toward all when my
when I when my shoulder, when I had that harness one, yeah,
I just I just took it just so, just so
I wouldn't feel no pain. But it depends depends.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
All that.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
I think. I think it's all o Lamar. I think
the fact that they're not in control of their own destiny.
I think that that was the side, whether he plays
or not. But but no, I know, knowing Lord, knowing Lamar.
You know knowing him, knowing him, forget the lamark the
football person, knowing him personally as a player and a competitor.

(02:07):
He gonna play, whether whether they have a chance or not,
he gonna play. So I'm not gonna worry about what
the stealer is gonna do. I'm not gonna worry about
whether they're gonna lose or win their next two games.
I'm gonna make sure I do everything I can for
my team so we finish this season all strong, or
at least on the goddamn high note.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Yeah, you're right, So we'll see how that how that back.
The good thing is they play Sunday and they don't
play Thursday, because if they had to play Thursday, I
think there's a greater chance that he doesn't play that
he does play. So we'll see how it goes. We'll
see how if the back loosens up and he's able
to play.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
Oh Yoe.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
Kansas City Chiefs and now today that they will leave
Arrowhead Stadium, their longtime home venue in Missouri, for a
new three billion dollar dome stadium that will be built
across from the Kansas City, Kansas, Missouri state line and
be ready to start for the twenty thirty one season,
They'll be announcement came shortly after the Council of Kansas
lawmakers voted unanimously to allow for sale, tax and revenue

(03:06):
STAR bonds to be issued to cover up to seventy
percent of the cost of the stadium and a company
mixed use district. The bonds, which are estimated to be
around two point four billion, will be paid off with
state sales and liquor tax revenue generated in a defined
area around it. Chiefs owner Lamar Hunt said the family
will commit one billion in additional development. This marks the

(03:29):
second time in the last ten years that the state
of Missouri has lost an NFL franchise.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
Remember o Jo.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
The Rams relocated to Los Angeles before the twenty sixteen
season after twenty four year tenure in Missouri. Ojo the
NFL players of long criticized. Remember they was getting those reports,
this is bad in the weight roomy and that, and

(03:56):
then like hold on bro human device bones. We won
three We win every year the stadium has sold out.
What we're doing, Miseri's Kansas say, we got a little
got something for you. We got too that we got
two point four b plus when you build a dome stadium,

(04:17):
guess what you can come uh January. You can't do
nothing to play football out there. If I get a dome,
guess what. I could have a tailor swift concert. I
could have a bone game. I can have a Final four.
I can have motocross, I can have a Yeah, yeah,

(04:38):
imagine what you're gonna do with a don't so in
months that it's snowing outside. Ain't nobody going to sit
in a noose stadium and watching nothing other than a football?

Speaker 3 (04:45):
I got you see it? Not that since that made that?
That makes that makes it makes dollars in one thing
and one thing that I wondered that they that they
will lose being one of the loudest stadiums in the
in the NFL at Arrowhead, one of the louder to

(05:06):
the top two. The other stadium, that's the other stadium that.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
They got the Guinness Book of World Record. Now, I
don't know, maybe the twelfth Man can get it back,
but set the city. I don't know have you ever
played it, But that's why.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
I just said it's the loudest stadium ever been in.
It's either them or Seattle one of the other matter
of fact, when I played, when I played against some
past certain senior was was the dB there and when
I played I played them. That's when we played them
in the Harrow Arrowhead.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
Well, obviously we're in the same division, so we played
and we used to be in the same division with Seattle. Uh,
the Kingdome got loud in Seattle fans. I know your
guys remember the Kingdome. But we played Seattle outside they
was they were some sauce so it wasn't loud at all.
As a matter of fact, Ojo, they start they started
talking about Baker crowd noise. I say, get it up,
and we got the ball. That's what makes me think

(05:59):
somebody in the building. But uh, North Kansas City, and
I hate it, you know, but you know, I think
the Broncos are gonna get you know, the Broncos is
gonna move into a A don't because at the end
of the day, you know what they want want super Bowl. Yeah,
ain't no more Super Bowls being played outside the cold.
They gave it to the Giants when the Broncos and

(06:22):
and and Seattle played in the metal layer of met
Life Stadium. Okay, but I'm saying now, if you want
to if you're gonna be a cold weather team and
you think you are about getting foot Bowl, which I don't
think it should ever be, and I don't think it
should never be in the cold, because what you're gonna
do with Joe, Anybody going ice fishing, anybody going curly.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
People want to go hey, people want to be outside.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
And having fun and join the city, join the festivities.
You know what, You go to a cold with the
city in the first week of February for Super Bowl.
I mean, think about when it was in Minnesota.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
I just left for cold Well, I just left New York,
I just left Jersey, I just left the Northeast.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
I just left the Midwest. I would have gone, hey, Miami,
you got it, uh uh.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
Because it's always gonna be in New Orleans, New Orleans,
gonna get it. So Miami, New Orleans. So far you
got it. At Leisia in Vegas you got it. Arizona,
you got it.

Speaker 3 (07:14):
Hey, Arizona two, Arizona two spaced out, Arizona spaced out.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
It is it is.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
They got stuff in two side, they got stuff at
uh what's the tempi? They got Timpia and they got
Scottsdale Scottsdale, Scottsdale, Scottsdale, Scottsdale. But uh, I feel bad
for the I guess it's right across the state line,
so it's not that far away.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
Any of that bad, any of that bad, so the
fans won't have anything to complain about. I just think
they lose that dynamic of the crowd depending on how
the stadium is built, and.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
I think it ain't gonna be when.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
It came to arrow Head. I'm not sure if it's
way the stadium was built that made the sound so
deafening where you couldn't hear anything and you had to
go silent count. But I ain't never never heard no
stadium like that outside of The Twelfth Man playing in Seattle. Unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
But but see what you before you got to leave,
O joe. They couldn't be loud because the quarterback could
go to the loud of scrimmage and if it was
too loud, you couldn't hear the snapcount. He turned to
the official, he said, I can't hear, and the official
was telling him to calm down. So the quarterback here
or they're gonna.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
Throw it there is yep.

Speaker 3 (08:29):
Oh that that wouldn't work today. Huh, that wouldn't that,
that would not work.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
They changed.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
Okay, okay, okay, I like that.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
I like that Jadevian clown and says money and his
family is what keeps him motivated to play the final
two games despite the Cowboys being eliminated. Clown said, what
you mean motivated? They're paying me. That's enough motivation for me.
I like money, not just that. I represent more than
just the team. I'm playing for myself, my family supporting me.
I'm playing for everybody that's been with me from the beginning.

(09:01):
And I ain't never gonna quit. I ain't quit nothing
if it ain't gonna be hard for me to get
up there and play in no game, do my job like.

Speaker 3 (09:09):
I like that, nice and simple, simple and sweet. This
is the reason is a reason why he does it.
You know, there's multiple reasons why he does it, and
for all the right reasons. You love football, for one, Yeah,
you love the money. And I love the fact that
he wasn't politically correct, because most players act like it
ain't about to God damn money. But come on now,
let come on now, my family, come on now. I

(09:33):
like I like that. It's very refreshing to hear a
player be honest and upfront.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
About why they do what they love. Oh, Joe, we
talk about this all the time. Guys inherently want to play. Yeah,
that's what we do. Football is what we do. We
play football, and it we're capable of playing, we want
to play. We realize that there's gonna be a finality

(09:59):
to our NFL careers and when it's over, there is.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
No senior circuit. This ain't like golf.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
You live the PGA and then you go on the
senior circuit and you could play another twenty years.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
Like you tell, you know what the senior circuit is.
If you're an NFL player, The senior circuit for you,
it comes one time a year in that Turkey Bowl
on Thanksgiving. That's the senior circuit to relive your dream
once again.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
But yeah, I love with I love what Jadavia saying,
what you mean motivated? But I get paid? Yeah every week?
That that the break the post. Oh yeah, okay, okay, hey,
you know.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
You know that the team ain't never gonna tell you. Listen,
I'm gonna give you this check, right, but don't cash
it until I let you know. You know, you know
how people is Now, wait till I hey, wait, wait
till I get some money. Wait till I get some
money in there. Now, then you put it in there
before I tell you that it's gonna bounce.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
Okay, I'll tell you now, do not do a I
got it postdated for a reason.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
Now, hey, you see what the post date is? The
twenty third.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
Don't you take your ass up to the twenty second,
the twenty first, the twentieth. Don't you take your hands
up there? Hey boy, this thing got bob. Hey you
think this basketball, this thing go about so high.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
I'm telling you.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
You take your ass up there if you want to.
I posted it this check for a reason. Hold on,
why you post dating my check for work I did today? Noah,
give me my money? Man, you want some bull joye
give me my money?

Speaker 3 (11:38):
Hey boy, hey boy, love our people?

Speaker 1 (11:41):
Boy, they give me my How you gonna how you
post somebody check for a job they did today? Hey,
but we'll do it, won't we? Adam?

Speaker 3 (11:52):
Hey broy, I didn't been there, Bro, I didn't been there.
I didn't been there.

Speaker 1 (11:57):
Oh boy, oh Joe, what left time you wrote a check? Me? Yeah?
Me let me see? Uh? Do people still take checks.

Speaker 3 (12:07):
That's that's a good question. I think the last time
I wrote a check it might have been two thousand,
That might have been two thousand and two thousand and nine,
probably probably two thousand and nine. And I know, if
I'm not mistaken, I think I wrote a check for

(12:29):
Yama Yama a few ya a few Yamaha bangies. You know,
you know, you know how we ride dirt box and
four wheels down here in Miami. Okayah, yeah, I think
I think that's the last time I wrote a check.
I'll never forget.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
Yeah, yeah, I can't.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
Yeah, I ain't wrote to check in a minute. You
ain't got a check book. You ain't got a check
book on yeah, okay, so you oh you still write checks?

Speaker 1 (12:52):
Then, I don't know the last time.

Speaker 3 (12:57):
You know, I think you know technology because every means you, like.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
My mom got a car. I just I just sent
the money to the dealer. I see that.

Speaker 3 (13:05):
I was just gonna say that technology has gotten so
far advanced where there's really no need for a check
book because there's so many different ways you can transfer
wired money. I mean, it's no need to write a check.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
Mm hmmm, mm hmmm, unless you transferred money from account
to account.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
But you can do that.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
You can do it.

Speaker 1 (13:22):
You can do that. You can do that on your phone.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
The apps they gotta they gotta app for every guy.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
No, no, no, I don't do nothing on my phone.
Oh no, you remember I told you I tried to
owe the breakfast and book, the book, the room for
two nights.

Speaker 1 (13:37):
Man, I thought, I got me a breakfast sandwich. You
I was.

Speaker 2 (13:39):
I was just like no, And I was like, man,
I wonder what take it from? I said, yeah, I
got me this breakfast sandwich.

Speaker 1 (13:46):
I got air. I said, you know what, Yeah, I'm
get me this.

Speaker 2 (13:48):
I'm gonna get I'm gonna get sausage. I usually get baked.
I'm gonna get sausage. Pastist, got me some food, got
me some.

Speaker 1 (13:57):
Yeah. They called me, why'd you want to why'd you
get a room? Why'd you get a room for two nights?
I said, I ain't get no room. Oh the breakfast
shore does? She said, with the thing? I got your rule?
Where's the Thursday night with Joe? So that's why I

(14:18):
don't fool I ain't got That's why I got no.
I ain't got no on my phone where money can
try can train right, I got you.

Speaker 3 (14:24):
I gotta see I'm text savvy when to come to
my phone, I'm really good with my phone. Now my problem, well,
I'm not tech savvy, which is why I need to
really look into what we talked about early in the show,
and having someone that knows how to work these cameras
and and and really good with laptops and lighting and
all that stuff, and then kind of trying to make
my parents look a little better because I don't know.

(14:46):
I like that, but it's a whole process. And when
you explain it to me, I'm just thinking, God, damn,
that's tedious. Everywhere I go. Okay, I gotta get this
ticket on benefits and all that. It's it's it's a well.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
You look, no, no, no, I have more than one employee.
If it's one employee, you might probably not have to give.
I mean, it'll make it easier. It's gonna make them
more like want to do it because they have benefits.
But I have thirteen fourteen.

Speaker 3 (15:12):
Goddamn you got boy. You got a whole staff over there.

Speaker 1 (15:20):
Yeah ship so but yeah, I mean what you think
you think graphics and editors.

Speaker 3 (15:29):
Community, it's about maybe six six people. Jordan ash. Oh
my god, boy, you got it. Boy, you got a
whole you got sealed team.

Speaker 1 (15:40):
Then CJ.

Speaker 2 (15:40):
CJ got his own team that that does club Shay
shape graphics and editing and stuff like stuff like that.

Speaker 3 (15:47):
So it's another team under another team.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
But that's see, but that's that's c JS. Yeah, I
hire CJ and then fIF team.

Speaker 1 (15:55):
You know, you know what I can do.

Speaker 3 (15:57):
I can I can kind of knock out two birds
with one stone, right, I can have I can have
you know, cam body could be my assistant and tech person.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
You can see, I mean you give him money that
way you could write it off.

Speaker 3 (16:09):
Oh hey see hey, I like I like that. I
see I say, I like. I like where you're going.
So I gotta I don't I need to do paperwork
with her? Two okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, Hey what
what a salary? What the salary start at? Just just
give me give me a roundabout number.

Speaker 1 (16:29):
It's gonna be six figures to start off.

Speaker 3 (16:33):
So they ain't gonna work that way up.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
No, But damn what you want to you want to
be worn to stand in the suit and kick you
line or something. Damn you're gonna be living at a
shell too with the salary you tried to pay you.

Speaker 3 (16:49):
Now you said six figures. Now six figures could be
the six figures to start with. The one to start
with a two is start with a three, start with Okay, okay,
now that's due that that that's doable. So I'm I'm,
I'm mama, I'm gonna talk. I'm gonna talk. I'm gonna
talk Fluffy. I'm gonna see if Fluff you want to
and then you know she gets to travel that yeah,

(17:11):
I mean you already do that anyway. So okay, I
like that. I like that.

Speaker 1 (17:17):
I like that. Is she good with computer?

Speaker 3 (17:19):
Yeah? Man, ship better better, better than me. All I
know how to do with is laptop. I know how
to press power on and off.

Speaker 1 (17:30):
That's it. I can't tell you last time I turned
the computer.

Speaker 3 (17:34):
See what that?

Speaker 2 (17:35):
I mean when I got when I gotta do like
a video, No, don't do that.

Speaker 1 (17:39):
Don't do that, Jordan, Jordan gotta come.

Speaker 3 (17:42):
Any any any type of video conference. I'm not good
at any type of zoom. I'm not good. I'm not good
at it takes me by twenty minutes to get in.
They say, we hear you, but we don't see you,
I know, because I don't know what to do.

Speaker 1 (17:57):
Yeah, George set it up, but there'll be there.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
I mean ask and Jordan dang close Fort Civity, so
ask like two minutes from me, Jordan about ten minutes
for me, so he could just come over there, just
sit it up, make sure it's operational. I'm going and
then he gone by today. But days that he's not working,
I don't see Joe right at all.

Speaker 3 (18:16):
He be gone out.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
So George, man, join me working out or I don't
know what he be doing. I don't even care what
he be doing. As long as he's that we're supposed
to work. He there, That's all I care about. I
don't care like so, but I love what J. J.
David had to slay. They paying me my family? Hey,

(18:39):
why my family coming to the game if I ain't
playing in the game.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
I don't want to come, bro, I don't my my
family don't care enough. Man.

Speaker 2 (18:49):
When I got hurt the Super Bowl, my sister's like,
I was ready to go. If they had a bus
leave it, I definitely would have been on it. But nah,
I love that you're getting paid due the job. Last
two games, we're not going anywhere Okay, the checks still,
they ain't gonna stop paying you because we're not going anywhere,

(19:12):
so I'm not gonna stop playing. Trayvon Walker says, we
don't want any jump We don't want anyone jumping on.

Speaker 1 (19:19):
The bandwagon now.

Speaker 2 (19:20):
After Jags beat Broncos, Trayvon said, they just gonna hop
on the bad ragon right now. Everybody in this locker
room and the Jags team, even upstairs. We know everybody's
probably going to try to hop on this bandwagon now,
but we don't want anybody. They can stay where they had.
It's us. It's all about the effing It's all about
the Jags. If everybody but us, excuse my language, Dad, Grandma,

(19:42):
but f everybody but.

Speaker 3 (19:44):
Us, I like it. I mean, listen, he can come
out and say it. I don't think nobody's gonna jump
on the bandwagon.

Speaker 1 (19:50):
Listen.

Speaker 3 (19:50):
People that have been Jacksonville Jacksonville fans, they still they
still fans. I don't think anyone on the outside looking
anything to say.

Speaker 1 (19:58):
I don't think y'all got we're gonna jump.

Speaker 3 (19:59):
On Jacksonville Jacksonville bamba. You know that's not gonna happen.
It's not gonna happen. But one thing about it. But
and boy been playing some hell of ball. They've been
playing some hell of ball a both sides of the ball. Track.
Goddamn Travis Atn playing extremely well, the defense all together
in his sotality, playing extremely well. That God damn Trevor

(20:22):
Lawrence on well, Trevor Lawrence looks like a top five
quarterback this year.

Speaker 1 (20:27):
You play a fourteen touchdowns, zero interceptions.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
You play it very well, played really really well. A
Lions All prob LL right tackle. Per nay Swar is
not happy about playing on the NFL game on Thanksgiving
and Christmas this season.

Speaker 1 (20:41):
I'm gonna be brutally honest. I'm not happy.

Speaker 2 (20:43):
We already have a Thanksgiving, we already play on Thanksgiving
versus Green Bay, and in fact we have to play
on Christmas and way versus Minnesota. Is something I want.
I wouldn't want to do so yeah, not fun, but
it is what it is. It comes with the job
that I'm going to do it. Yep, you know what
I tayll people they talking about, Well, I want to
I want to go into sports. I want to do this.
I said, Okay, are you okay? Working on weekends? Are

(21:06):
you okay working on holidays? Are you okay being away
from your family? Because if you're not willing to do
those two.

Speaker 3 (21:11):
Absolutely listen at this level too, At this level too,
I understand, but you know what you signed up for.
You understand that you understand the sacrifices that come with.

Speaker 1 (21:21):
What you do.

Speaker 3 (21:22):
Obviously you play for the Detroit lines, you get drafted
Detroit lines. You know there's the chances I'm gonna be
playing on goddamn Thanksgiving, and it's a chance to be
playing on goddamn Christmas. Ain't you as with the listen,
I know you would love to be home with your family,
but you were able to spend holidays, especially Thanksgiving and
Christmas with your family all your life until probably you left,

(21:44):
you left for high school, until you left for college.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
Oko all them big as expensive gifts and all those presents,
How can they sue think he getting.

Speaker 3 (21:54):
Oh, take your time, now.

Speaker 1 (21:58):
You forget that take your time, but that.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
He wanted to high pay right tackles and all those
Christmas presents that those kids get. All the things he's
able to do for his white, all the things he's
able to do for his parents.

Speaker 1 (22:08):
How you say.

Speaker 3 (22:10):
Playing on Thanksgiving and playing on Christmas.

Speaker 2 (22:13):
If somebody told me, if somebody to let me ask
you a question, O Joe, and I'm gonna let you go.
If somebody say, panay, you're gonna have an opportunity. You're
gonna probably make somewhere between twenty twenty five twenty six
million dollars a year. But you but you're gonna play
on Thanksgiving and probably once, maybe twice high end three times,
you have to play on Christmas. What you say, Well,

(22:34):
if I got to play on Christmas and it's got
to be in the same year that I play on Thanksgiving,
I don't want.

Speaker 1 (22:39):
That twenty five million you think? You say that not?
I think not.

Speaker 2 (22:44):
So it sounds good, brother, Ain't nobody can really hear that.
I'ma be honest with you, bro, and I think you're
a phenomenal player. Hear, but you make twenty five million?

Speaker 1 (22:52):
He wanted the best.

Speaker 2 (22:54):
Yeah, you make twenty five million a year and you
mean to tell me so that's one holiday.

Speaker 3 (23:02):
I understand him, though. We just have to right.

Speaker 2 (23:11):
I mean, I can't remember a time that we didn't
practice on Christmas unless it fell on a Tuesday.

Speaker 1 (23:17):
But if it fell on if it fell on the money.

Speaker 2 (23:19):
Guess what we had to go in the only time
we didn't go in it wasn't and the only thing
was in debate or you want to come in? You know,
it was allegedly supposedly a vote. You vote do you
want to open the Christmas presents with your kids and
come in later? Or do you want to come in early?
And me and any bad I you know, kids weren't coming,

(23:42):
So I was cool basically with whatever John wanted.

Speaker 3 (23:45):
And what did John pickle?

Speaker 2 (23:47):
Who want to open THEO? Who wanted to open the presents?
And all the kids up, all your families in town
and then you leave. You got to go to work.
Why not just go to work? It didn't bring your
ass home and be done for today.

Speaker 1 (24:00):
Basically, I don't know to tell you. I don't know
to tell you.

Speaker 2 (24:11):
Oh man, let the kids open one present and tell
him you tell him you'll open the rest of them.

Speaker 1 (24:19):
You'll be back home by two o'clock. You'll be okay.

Speaker 3 (24:24):
Yeah, I'm I'm gonna I'm gonna have i'mna have all
their gifts.

Speaker 1 (24:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (24:32):
I mean, you ain't got to watch you call it.
You ain't got nothing to worry about because you. You
are you off until that.

Speaker 3 (24:39):
Yes, I'm gonna pretend. I'm pretending to tell them, tell
the kids and listen, dad, daddy, Daddy gotta go work. Man,
I'm not gonna be give for Christmas, so I'm gonna
have to take you all gifts back.

Speaker 2 (24:53):
Manfraid fright, call little mama. You don't want, man, you
don't want, you don't want, she blocked. You don't want
my niece to over blocked.

Speaker 3 (25:02):
Yeah, yeah, I don't get French Fried got her own phone.
I communicate with. I communicate with. Come on, French three,
she's finn be but but listen, but my my baby
can hold a whole conversation, yea conversations. Daddy, how you
doing where you're going? You got you got nightcap the
night I'm like, what yeah, yeah, she what brilliant. She's smart,

(25:25):
she get it ag, she get it from a daddy,
you know, yeah, she does.

Speaker 2 (25:30):
I need Look, I need whatever you got. Look, I
ain't say y'all, ain't no trying to get together.

Speaker 3 (25:35):
But I'll be good good, just bullshit bull you know. Listen, listen,
I'm easy to get along with, you know I am.
I mean, I'm yeah, yeah, I'm easy to get along with,
no problem, no problems at all.

Speaker 2 (25:49):
You either get along with me. But uh, look, that's
that's that's a part of it. Like when you get
into the sports industry, working weekends, holidays, being away from
your family, whether you a sports writer, whether you're an athlete,
whether you're a coach, or whatever, that job entails. If it,
you know, if it's sports related, there's a great chance

(26:12):
the weekend and the holidays will require your services. So
if that's not what you want to do, don't even
don't even like, Hey, I don't want to be no journalists.
I don't want to be you know, I don't want
to be no coach. I don't want to be no
professional athlete. I mean, if you're a baseball player, you fine,
you good. It's the winner.

Speaker 1 (26:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (26:34):
But March April, May June, which start in February with springball,
So you got the cactus of the fall of the
gate Grateful League. So you got basically February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September.
You got eight months you on the road, one hundred
and sixty two games.

Speaker 1 (26:53):
You're gonna be going awful lot.

Speaker 3 (26:56):
Boy, that's a that's an eight. That's that's a lot
of games. Broy again. Also they make they make a
lot of money, but they sit around a lot. You
notice that they sit around a lot some flower seed, chewing, gum, chilling,
passing your past time. And then it's your time. You
up the bat or you out there in the field.

(27:16):
One of the other.

Speaker 1 (27:19):
Be a d H.

Speaker 2 (27:20):
Come up the bat, hit a home run, get out,
go back to the Blacks. Let's get them boys, Jess.
Coach Aaron Glenn wants fans to trust the process. With
the Jets three and twelve in his first season, Glenn
says fans should understand that GM Darren Moogie are following
a plan that makes more than that that take more
than one year, but we'll get results. There's a plan,

(27:42):
there's a vision. From day one, we've been trying to
set the foundation of what we want this team to
be for fans.

Speaker 1 (27:47):
Listen, it's going to be a tough rod.

Speaker 2 (27:49):
We knew that, but man, the thing, the thing is,
we know exactly what we're doing and we have a plan.

Speaker 1 (27:56):
Just don't let go of the rope. I would say,
I like it, I like I like you. Listen.

Speaker 3 (28:01):
As a former player, now, head coach, you know what
it takes. You know what it takes to build a
winning team. And you and I being former players, you
know how long it takes. You know how long it
takes to beil a winning team. Now, the problem is
the person that assists at the highest position. Does he
have the patience to allow you to do what you
need to do to build a commentant and winning team.

(28:22):
That's the problem. And it starts in the first place.
Where it starts at. It starts at a quarterback position.
So you got to start there until you find that
you can't build nothing else. That's where it started.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
That's the foundation. That shit.

Speaker 3 (28:35):
Yeah you shay, you just said it.

Speaker 2 (28:37):
But I understand why the Jay the Jets fans are impatient,
o Joe. They hadn't made the playoffs since twenty teen.

Speaker 3 (28:42):
It's a long time. That's that's twenty that's twenty five years, bro,
that's a long time.

Speaker 1 (28:46):
Not quite sixteen.

Speaker 3 (28:48):
But wow, you said twenty sixteen. Oh my bad, bad.
You know you know I wasn't no math major. Hey,
I said, hey, I said that fast as hell, like
I was right too.

Speaker 2 (29:03):
You said it fast, I mean, you were fast, loud
and wrong. But I understand that the Jets fans frustration.
So basically they had made the playoffs since Rex Ryan. Yeah,
you know when.

Speaker 3 (29:18):
He had that defense. Well, that's when when the Revers
was there, Revers Reavers that god damn front Mark said
that front four they had Oh my god, boy, you've
had about two seconds that you had about two seconds
of throw.

Speaker 1 (29:34):
That's it. They were.

Speaker 3 (29:36):
They were nice. They were nice, Dann, they were nice.

Speaker 2 (29:44):
After intense contracts stand up in the off season, James
Cooks has been lights oude for the Bills. Tyler Dude
and Asean McDermott where James Cooks had taken it, where
James cook has taken its game to a different level
than twenty five, McDermott said, I would say week to
week until even a different than last year. He had
some big games last year, but the looking is eye

(30:04):
each week, the intensity that he shows up with, it's
really been influential on our whole football team. The guys
see that, and that kind of a little bit unique
for a running back position and player that have that
type of impact on the whole team. And so it's
really been good to see very few people work harder
than him. He's on the sideline, going up over to
the defensive guys and encouraging them and challenging them, and

(30:26):
they're kind of doing the same. Josh is doing the same,
and that and that leadership at its highest left.

Speaker 1 (30:32):
I mean, he's been phenomenal. He's leading after the night's game,
he's leading.

Speaker 3 (30:37):
The funny thing about it, he's always been this way.
You knew what you would get, you knew what you
were getting before you've been paid for it, which is
why I don't know why there any rumblings or grumblings
with him having to sit out. It shouldn't be it
shouldn't be any issues contracting because you know what you're
paying for, you're gonna get, You're gonna get a return
on your investment. It's okay, yep. That's why I hate.

(30:58):
I hate when they play those games with certain players
and you know what you're getting. You know what you're getting.
James Cook was a no brainer when it came time
to pay him, and I know he ended up getting paid,
but he you know, he had to you know, he
had to fuss.

Speaker 2 (31:10):
A little bit, He had to wait, he had to
for it. You know, ye had to fuss a little
bit and I'm gonna have to hold out. And it
shouldn't have. It shouldn't have. It shouldn't be this way.
It shouldn't because he's been he's been a model citizen.
So he's been there. He's performed very very well. Carries,
he's too eighty seven first in the league, yards fifteen
thirty two, first in the league, twelve touchdowns, tied for

(31:33):
fourth in the league, yards five point three yards second
in the league.

Speaker 3 (31:37):
And he cutting up now, cutting up. He's been. He's
been a huge savior for Josh Allen because Josh doesn't
have to put everything on their shoulders. He can listen
to me. Let me take some of this pressure off
of me. Let me head it off to you, all right,
let me let me throw it to you. You know,
he's been handling his business so and.

Speaker 1 (31:57):
He's a a he ain't just uh you know, for y'all.

Speaker 2 (32:03):
He's mad house calls. He's going thirty forty. He's gonna
gas you now, yeah, man, and you and like you said,
you could throw it to it.

Speaker 1 (32:11):
Now.

Speaker 2 (32:12):
They don't throw it. They don't throw him the ball
like caffrey McCaffrey. They don't throw it to him like
it Jon but he's more than capable. You know, single
you know, I think Singletary comes in and get and
gets uh uh some of the passing downs. But he's
been phenomenal this year. He's been He's gonna be an
all pro and deservedly so. Deservedly so. And this is

(32:32):
what I like. I like when guys, look, there's no
driver A couple lot of times, don't yo.

Speaker 1 (32:36):
We see it.

Speaker 2 (32:36):
Sometimes guys you know, hold out or something like that,
and they don't get the money and then they come in,
they get the money and come in there and.

Speaker 1 (32:42):
Getting I was glad he was able.

Speaker 2 (32:45):
I was saying, I told y'all, y'all shouldn't be surprised
by this. This is who I've been since I've been here.
Y'all give me more opportunity. Now he had to have fifty,
but now he's really the focal point of the run attack,
the rush attack, and you see what he's doing now,
he's probably.

Speaker 1 (32:58):
Gonna end up with over seventeen hundred yard Well.

Speaker 2 (33:00):
That ain't gonna be the record, because you know Oja
has the record at two thousand and three because he
with two thousand and fourteen games.

Speaker 1 (33:06):
But that'll be the second most Russia.

Speaker 2 (33:09):
I don't know. I think, don't you have another? I
think Ohja had another, like seventeen maybe eighteen hundred yards.
I'm not sure. But James Cooks has been phenomenal. Oh yeah,
it's been phenomenal. All right, on't y'all it's time five
final saving of the evening. It's time for q in a.

(33:39):
Aaron Oen said it'd be insane if the Chargers and
Rams hosted the AFC NFC Championship game.

Speaker 1 (33:44):
That would be a stadium workers night only. If yeah,
well you said if they hosted it, Yeah, it would.

Speaker 2 (33:54):
I don't know how they turned that around, because you know,
one plays at three o'clock and the other play is
at six o'clock.

Speaker 3 (34:01):
Well, I mean, what's what's the difference? Listen to think
about the Clippers. The Clippers in the Lakers, they use it.

Speaker 2 (34:06):
They think they got different buildings. They even when they
were in the same they didn't play on the side.

Speaker 3 (34:11):
I know. I'm just saying.

Speaker 1 (34:14):
And then now the Clippers got their own building into it.

Speaker 3 (34:16):
Where is that all? Where is it located on?

Speaker 1 (34:19):
Uh? What's that? Clyd Bista? Okay, okay, Clyd Bista, Oh Inglewood, No, no,
not into it though't is it ingle Wood? Okay? Damns
over there by.

Speaker 3 (34:35):
The training facility is okay, Okay, Hey hey that's my
old stopping ground where Inglewood Inglewood. Yeah. Yeah, well you
know when I was in l A doing I tell
you know, I you know, I used to I used
to die. I used I used to wear a little
red you know, you know, little shop, little shot you know.

Speaker 2 (34:56):
Uh Man says, oh, put some in fact on Brock's name.

Speaker 1 (35:01):
He he did, he bought out to night.

Speaker 2 (35:04):
But you also need to give a mac Jones some
credit because he kept the float while brock Berry was out.
We've seen it go hell, you know, normally started goes
out and sometimes they go to hell in a handbasket.

Speaker 1 (35:19):
I think you need to give mac Jones some credits.

Speaker 2 (35:20):
Man.

Speaker 1 (35:22):
Kevin bok Knight forty nine ers versus the Texans bucket,
I I don't know. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (35:30):
If the the Texans offense, it scares me defense every
time they're gonna keep it close. But the problem is
if the defense has an off night.

Speaker 1 (35:45):
Can can yeah? I mean.

Speaker 3 (35:51):
When well, when tang Dale come back next year, an
he back healthy, and.

Speaker 2 (35:57):
They might they're gonna ask some other pieces also ts
card wats detail? Did that I serge your mess with
your vision?

Speaker 3 (36:05):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (36:07):
No, not that I know of. You know, one of
my probably look like a German shepherd. But that's about it.

Speaker 3 (36:15):
And sure I need to go get surgery on my
You can see the cataract.

Speaker 1 (36:20):
No, you gotta murky out. I can hear see it. Yep,
it's bad man.

Speaker 3 (36:28):
That's why I always That's why always were with shades.

Speaker 2 (36:31):
Man.

Speaker 1 (36:32):
You don't want to see that cat I mean they
can see.

Speaker 3 (36:34):
It because I'm showing it to them. So you get better.
You better understand I'm somebody. Somebody's bad. Like I can't.
I cannot see out this eye at all. When I do,
when I cover like this, it looks like I'm under
salt water. Like that's how I uncle. I played my
whole career like this, brouh with one eye. I told
you if you ever watch, if you ever watch highlights

(36:55):
and me catching the ball, you know you know how
you reach out here to get the ball. If you
ever notice every ball I catch, I wait till the
ball get closer it Now I catch right here every
time because I can't. I can't track it. I can't
track it until it gets close to me. It was bad.
I don't to tell the truth.

Speaker 1 (37:13):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (37:14):
I don't know how I did it. I don't know
how I did it.

Speaker 1 (37:16):
Bro Maris Whittaker has ni huh Georgane said old far
Ast Whittaker.

Speaker 2 (37:27):
Barbara, but tail said, Pretty is a sistants quarterback, not
top ten in the league. Mahomes, Alan Burrough, Stafford Lamar
that uh may Golf Herbert Donald. Let me ask your question.
All these so let me ask your question. You think uh,

(37:51):
you think Pretty could uh? I mean because you build
your offense around your quarterbacks. Skill said what they do good,
and we implement that head quarterback is a system quarterback.
That system is specifically Taylor. Tom Brady's tailor offense was
Taylor's specifically for him. And when he went to Tampa
and they started implementing plays and calling plays that he

(38:11):
ran it where they ran it when he was at Tampa,
that he ran in New England they took off. Ain't nothing.
It's not a knot to say somebody's a system quarterback.
It's not because all quarterbacks the system that they run
is built for them. Lamar's system is built for him.

(38:34):
My home system is built for him. Herbert's system is
built from him, and so forth and so on. It's okay,
rude broadcast, mister sharp, I have a great video series
idea for you. If you let me join your production team,

(38:54):
let me holler right now, and I hire right now.

Speaker 3 (39:00):
Bro, I'm hired.

Speaker 2 (39:05):
Kevin both Knight, shout out to your at young CJ
eighty six fly. He's gonna be a fan to get
a forty nine ers Lombardy this year. Well, quarternights look
good tonight. They damn sure look good tonight. But hey,
the rams look good, and see holes look good too,
and the bears look damn good. Tarro uh ish o jo.

(39:29):
I'm twenty six single, no pets. What you need, what
you need me to handle? I can send you my rest.

Speaker 3 (39:36):
I got, I got your boss, I got your bas'm
I'm gonna talk to I'm gonna talk to that. There's
one candidate already in line for those services. They already listen,
they already be here anyway. They already traveled with me
everywhere I go. They already savvy when it comes to
you know, the technical support side. Uh So I'm gonna
get to you if they if they can't, if I

(39:57):
can't fulfill their there there there my my the requests
that I need hold on how much they make them
on a year hundred thousand?

Speaker 1 (40:11):
Yeah, you started off with okay, oh starting off?

Speaker 3 (40:15):
So it don't stay there.

Speaker 1 (40:19):
No, did you did your football salary state making your rookie?
It went up?

Speaker 3 (40:26):
Okay, okay, So we need to discuss the terms and
conditions on on on on on the pain. Hey bo,
I like I like, I like the business side of things. Well,
I don't be on that side often, but I mean
I enjoy these conversations.

Speaker 1 (40:50):
M hm, l gotcha. Better not get the ten kids.

Speaker 2 (40:55):
You're gonna be out in the league at age fifty
making the same sound as Pop.

Speaker 1 (40:58):
I feel up bas when he throws the ball ts
card watch detail.

Speaker 2 (41:07):
Yeah, oh yo, hire someone like the guy that's always
in the comments about fixing your camera. You never gave
him a shot. Oh yo, get that business mindset? Deck
Benny said, Oh man, while your buy one get one free,
ash Bronco could beat the Jags.

Speaker 1 (41:26):
My Texans need help for that division.

Speaker 3 (41:29):
Man.

Speaker 2 (41:29):
We tried, because we tried to stay one up. We
tried to stay one up on the on the the
Chargers because now they beat us.

Speaker 1 (41:39):
They went out, we lose one lose.

Speaker 2 (41:43):
Yeah, we got to win out in order to meet
because we played them last game of the season. They
win the division. I'm your leader, shoulder, don't want to
talk about pretty five touchdown looks.

Speaker 1 (41:54):
Like dumb dumb, dumb dumb.

Speaker 2 (41:58):
Did you listen to the start of the show, No
you didn't, Your boy saying oh, ESPN said OHO was
lying because they believe the fan more. I think that's
how that was a low blow. They're lying, And what
I find funny is that to believe a man with
a wig on. Look, what we're reporting is what DK

(42:24):
relayed to OCHO. If I'm not mistaken, he also said
the same that told James Harrison the same thing. He's saying,
he didn't say it. So right now they're alleged. Now
there's someone in that section or someone's that's that heard
the interaction, not a snippet, that heard it from the

(42:45):
very beginning, they can confirm or deny what's being said.

Speaker 1 (42:50):
Who's telling the truth. Eventually we'll get to that.

Speaker 2 (42:56):
All we reported with what deep We're not saying, hey,
we weren't there.

Speaker 1 (43:02):
We're not trying to break news. We're just reporting what the.

Speaker 2 (43:04):
Guy that was involved, what he said, just like they're
reporting what the guy that was involved, what he said.
I don't think ESPN talked to DK. They talked to
that guy. We didn't talk to that guy, just like
ESPN didn't talk to DK.

Speaker 1 (43:17):
So we don't know. Eventually we're gonna find out, at
least hopefully.

Speaker 3 (43:22):
Yeah, I mean ESPN would never go to the player.
They're definitely going to.

Speaker 1 (43:28):
The party.

Speaker 2 (43:31):
It's mad at twenty two to fifteen, top three physical
receivers in the league right now. I'm saying Pookah pick
Higgins random, but Jeremiah Smith is gonna live up to
the hype. Yeah, Pooka's man. You say pook would be
playing through contact. I love that guy. You gotta be
able to play through contact.

Speaker 3 (43:49):
I mean he has a size to be able to
do it.

Speaker 2 (43:54):
Yeah, all you receive is Pikeys Hickys like six three
sixty three and a half.

Speaker 1 (43:58):
I talked, I talked to you.

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
