Speaker 1 (00:00):
ESPN Jeremy Fowler reports Steelers could be trying to trade
for Tyreek Hill before the deadline.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
The Dolphins appear to be going nowhere.
Speaker 1 (00:07):
Tyreek three weeks in three weeks has one hundred and
ninety eight yards and one touchdown. The sticking point may
be Tyreek's contract. He's in the second season of a
three year, ninety one million dollars a ninety million dollar contract,
but his cap hit jumps to over fifty one million
in twenty twenty six almost certainly required a restructure.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
O Cho, you like Tyreek going to Pittsburgh.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
Oh whooah boy, Tyreek. We goddamn man, that's not fair man.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
Go on ahead, Yang and Calvin ostay friar mouth, hold on,
hold on.
Speaker 3 (00:40):
Do you understand what Tyreek does at that offense? How
he opens up that offense up even more so boom,
defenses come out and the play call goes to the X.
So we doubled, we doubling four, we doublin DK metcalf.
Now you add goddamn Tyreek to the equation. Well, that
that switches up everything. What the hell do we do defensively?
(01:02):
And you you add a weapon like that that Aaron
Rodgers had never had before. Now we talk about, we
said all the time about quarterbacks that can no longer
elevate an offense and need players around them to elevate
their play. Now you just add Now you just added one.
Now you just added one. Now what that does to
them offensively is not only does it take that trajectory
(01:23):
offensively to another level. Hell, that even makes him that
much better in the division, and it changes it changes
the AFC totally. I agree, damn, but hey, don't don't
put that. Don't put that in the happening. Hold on.
It's power in the tongue. It's power in the tongue.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
Look me personally, I don't believe the front office has
got over the way he handled the end of last year.
And I told you that was gonna be a problem, right, Ojo,
When you make that kind of bread.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
You can't do that, O't Joe? You know that? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:58):
With that because they went out on limb. They gave he,
They gave you big bucks, no whamies.
Speaker 3 (02:06):
Oh well, you gotta understand why they gave him. Yes,
I'm deserving of them big bucks.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
So when I give you so, that's what when I
give you big bucks. What is the expectations? In turn,
I expect you to play, not just when we're winning,
not when we just have a chance to go to
the playoffs under no circumstances. Is what he did acceptable?
I don't care where. You know, it's the heat of
the moment. You can't do that, not in that situation
(02:32):
with you. Plus oh yo, he got that C on
his jersey. You know you can't do that if you
that guy.
Speaker 3 (02:38):
Yes, you're that camping that captain? You're right? Well, hold
on why why you ain't just say why not? Tyree
to the Bengals.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
Man, So y'all gonna have three thirty million dollar receivers.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
Hold on, hey, hold on, stay with me real quick. Now,
hey chat chat y'all, stay with me real quick. Let
me think. I know this ain't Matt, and I know
this ain't ultimate team, but listen to me.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
Unk.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
They paid dk DK make.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
It thirty four, right by thirty by thirty two?
Speaker 3 (03:10):
Okay, thirty two. They paid goddamn T J. Watt for
one Wait, that's the only two big that's only big
big two big salaries.
Speaker 4 (03:19):
Hu.
Speaker 3 (03:20):
Okay, now, man, they can fit Turrek my bad.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
Bad Yeah, man, you're right, So oh that's dangerous. Boy,
God damn, now you've got me thinking about it.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
I'm just picturing Tyree and I and.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
I told you I always thought the hang up is
gonna be who's gonna play the salar? But what we're
gonna do? Can we get a restructure? Ain't nobody doing
no fifty one million dollars for no receiver?
Speaker 2 (03:45):
Joke? You gonna get that campion?
Speaker 3 (03:47):
Yeah, he's gonna restructure, but still based on who he
is and how he still is, ain't gonna be that
he's gonna restructure, but it's still gonna be within that
top five range.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
Now ah yeah, yea yeah, yeah, yeh yeah. But I'm saying, look,
I'll give I'll make it where you know, yeah, you
still get thirty, you'll still be thirty, like thirty million
a year. But maybe we're gonna give you something, baby.
We'll give you know, signing bonus, you know what I'm saying,
And that and and and and at a add a
(04:16):
year and then that you know, spread that signing bonus
over so we could do so with that cap because
fifty one million for a receiver, that's a lot of bread. Now, eventually,
Chase is gonna be there. And that's why Chase is
like the they're gonna keep They're gonna be ay, Chase,
We're gonna come to you. We're gonna give you this
year's salary, We're gonna give you the bulk over it
and signing bonus. We're gonna get the can down the road,
(04:37):
because pretty soon Chase is gonna come up there. If
he's already, if he's at forty one, forty one million,
he's gonna be his's gonna his his cap. He is
gonna be damn near sixty seventy million pretty soon. So
matter of fact, go ahead.
Speaker 3 (04:51):
Matter of fact, we're talking about players going somewhere, players
leaving up the team to be traded because things aren't
going well. Joe Burrow's out, Joe Burrow is out for
significant amount of time. Hey chat, tell me what you
thinking about this? What do you think about my brother
down there in New York coming on down in Cincinnati
since he's the third Street Jamis And I'm just thinking
(05:13):
about what I know we could do from the pocket.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
Oh, he could throw he gonna he gonna throw.
Speaker 3 (05:19):
It now, not not now. What we can do is
we canna work on we canna work on the interception,
work on an exception. But listen, can you imagine Jamis
in that offense? Well, God damn t Higgins, Jamar Chase,
Mitchell Tinsley. You know, for for six, seven, eight weeks.
Can you imagine the numbers he gonna put up? Now, listen,
(05:42):
I love I love Brownie, but I'm just saying I've
seen Jameis do it. I've seen Jameis throw thirty three touchdowns.
Now I've seen him throw thirty three interceptions. But the
same thing. But we could work on that part.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
Now, say a chat.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
Now, this's the same guy that's saying that your last
week before they got the Dove blowed off them.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
He believed that, brother Brownie.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
I still don't. Hey, hold on, were talking hypotheticals. I
was just throwing something out there because I say that
there's power in the tongue. I believe in Browning. Because
brown At gonna show you what time it is, Monday night.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
I believe y'all Dove blowed off y'all again Monday night,
man child, Please yep.
Speaker 3 (06:24):
One thing, you know, you know Jake brown ain't never
lost a game on Monday night.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
You know that he did.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
He did, he did. He He won too. Jake Browning
ain't never lost a game.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
On Monday night.
Speaker 3 (06:39):
The Bronco.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
Y'all, y'all going to the High to win. We ain't
what y'all are not winning in the High. That ain't happening.
Speaker 3 (06:47):
Let me tell you something. Let me tell you something.
Let me tell you something. I believe in God, right,
you believe God too. I'm gonna tell you what God
told me. Were going on a two game win streak.
We're gonna beat the Broncos Monday Night, and then I'm
going to the game in Cincinnati against the Lions, and
we're gonna beat the Lions.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
The Lions, y'all, y'all in the row, y'all season over?
All right, you'll see you're about to lose three in
a row and your season over.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
You know what I said. I don't like being the Baker.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
The one thing I do not like to do is
give my people, my people, my good people, bad news.
I don't like doing that. When I come, I like
to come bearing gifts. I like to come bearing good news.
Speaker 3 (07:29):
Oh we're gonna listen speaking the baron gifts. You're gonna
have a gift, all right, Monday night when we come
on the show Monday night. I don't want to hear nothing.
I don't want to say o ball, make no excuses.
I'm telling what's gonna happen right.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
Now, you know what, because everybody, I'll jump over by
time like you can't say foot.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
Or ball.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
Absolutely at all.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
Y'all about to go to three loser street though, I
see it coming.
Speaker 3 (07:55):
Who's that third game? No, no, that's the second.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
Y'all can lose to Minnesota. Y'all lost the Minnesota Broncos Detroit.
Speaker 3 (08:06):
No no, no, no, no, no, no, no no no.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
We we let that say God this you he just
told me, just heard it say yes, yeah, they gonna
lose through.
Speaker 3 (08:13):
We Browning needed that game. Okay. I haven't played in
the whild. I haven't played in the while. Practice is
one thing, but the game is different. Everyone's moving a
little faster than me, so this game is I'm all right,
I'm back acclimated. I know what to expect. Okay, this
is coming this fast. Okay, I need to process this
this much a little bit faster. Okay. I can't make
that throw. Okay, I can't do that. I don't watched
(08:35):
film and done corrected my mistakes. So from now Monday night,
I'm going out there and I'm gonna show you why
I never ever lost some Monday night game. Man. Now
I'm gonna come on the show chaining who they who they?
Who they think they're gonna beat them back?
Speaker 1 (08:52):
After Detroit game? When they when they when they gonna
win another game?
Speaker 2 (08:57):
When day? When day when they gonna win game? Burn?
Speaker 3 (09:04):
You understand how football works, right, You understand that when
it comes to the NFL game, no matter how good
the team is week the week, it's any given Sunday, y'all,
it's any given Sunday.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
Oh yo, you know y'all been bad for fifty years.
Speaker 3 (09:18):
Don't don't do that. Don't do that because we just
went to the super Bowl in twenty twenty one. Don't do that.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
Whoa.
Speaker 3 (09:22):
We just went to the super Bowl in twenty two
to one, like like we did in nineteen eighty eight,
and we just so happened lost because the ref cheated
us on the holding call. That wasn't no holding call
on Logan Wilson against god damned Cooper Cup first, That
wasn't hold that.
Speaker 1 (09:33):
I shouldn't had that long? What about what about when t.
Higgins grabbed the Jayalen Rams and Flace mask and flipped it.
Speaker 3 (09:41):
I don't remember that. I don't remember that. I don't
recall I don't recall that at all.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
You don't remember that. I ain't that bad.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
Because if he did do that, you know what the
rest would it did?
Speaker 2 (09:53):
They didn't?
Speaker 1 (09:53):
You saw it too, That's why you paused, you know what?
On Joe, I think I might start to smoke the more.
Daniel Marshall's upstairs. You got also the gold Ones?
Speaker 2 (10:06):
Hold on, yeah, oh keep it?
Speaker 3 (10:07):
Come on hey anyway, hey anyway, chat, Hey, hey, chat listen,
listen to me chat real quick, but going right. I
just want to tell you. I want to tell y'all
I love y'all. Man, I want to tell you I
love you. If you follow me, you know you probably
hear me tweeted all the time, every single day I
got on I got on Twitter in two thousand and nine,
right and every day since two thousand and nine. I
(10:28):
always always say I love you. If you see me
in person, I probably don't even know You're not going
to hug you and told you I love you. I
do it for a reason.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
I always say it for real, because I never know
when it might be my last time saying I love
you to somebody that you're seeing me, because you never
know it's your time.
Speaker 3 (10:43):
I just lost my dog. I just lost my dog yesterday,
Rudy Johnson, and I'm upset. I'm upset. I'm hurt. Obviously,
the great memories we had playing in Cincinnati and all
that good stuff, and one thing I always did with
my teammates has always had a chance to tell them
I love you the same way I do strangers that
I see in the airports and the malls or wherever
(11:04):
I'm at. I always share that message. And people on
Twitter probably wonder why this food always say I love
you every single day ever since I've been on there,
and uh, that's one of the reasons why.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
But I've never get a chance to tell you I
love you before you transition. I know that I was
able to say it before you left, and that's one
of the reasons why I did it.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
So I'm kind of upset. I'm kind of hurt. I
wasn't able to say goodbye to a good friend of mine.
It's unfortunate, young Rudy boy, You're gonna be missed. I
love you and Uh. Their goal is the reason on
why I see I love you all the time. So
if you ever see me in person and I just
tell you I love you all the blue and you
ask me, well, why you can tell me I love you?
Because I'm supposed to, because the ain't no telling women
(11:45):
to see you again. And just in case I don't,
I already got.
Speaker 1 (11:48):
That love off. And that's how that goes. Other than that, man,
I'm feeling good tonight.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
That's why I'm so. I'm so, I'm so talkative, I'm
so taught, I'm feeling good. I'm in New York. I
had to work to night. I had to watch messy
them do work on New York. Yeah see yea, they
made the gold on them regular ones.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
Oh no, this is the twenty four carriacter. This the
d M till twenty four carried twenty eleven.
Speaker 2 (12:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (12:17):
Yeah, that's that's that dem that's my favorite. That's my favorite.
Speaker 2 (12:23):
I think I'll smoke this on old Monday night. Why
are you bull jock? After we put foot.
Speaker 3 (12:32):
Of y'all hold on, you ain't gonna have none to celebrate.
Speaker 1 (12:36):
The Yeah yeah, look at they say, Oh Joe. They
reraded as ninety two cigars? Say this a nine as you?
Speaker 3 (12:46):
Yeah? Yeah, it real did.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
That's what I be smoking sometimes I got them point too.
I got some friends up there.
Speaker 3 (12:53):
Hold on, hey, tell the chat how much one of them?
Speaker 2 (12:56):
Don't tell him, don't worry about it.
Speaker 3 (12:58):
Tell him a chat a Google. How much have Daniel Marshallton?
Speaker 2 (13:04):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (13:05):
Yeah, like what you got?
Speaker 2 (13:07):
Michael?
Speaker 3 (13:08):
How many you got? How many you got in that
bag there?
Speaker 1 (13:10):
You?
Speaker 3 (13:12):
How many you got that?
Speaker 2 (13:14):
Just enough for me to smoke? None for you?
Speaker 3 (13:18):
That's a whole lot. That's a whole lot of money
you spent there.
Speaker 1 (13:22):
All right, we got a very special guest us today
forty nine is running back Brian Robinson Jr.
Speaker 2 (13:31):
How you doing, bro, I'm good.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
I'm good man, I'm good man. Look three and oh
but y'all been besieged by injuries? Man, Nick boss our
Rock Perdy killed on Jennings? How you can still yet
to play? How have you guys been over to still be?
Speaker 2 (13:46):
Three? And oh?
Speaker 1 (13:47):
As the injury start them out and it's, you know,
the the adage, the cliche next man up has really
has really had to be you guys as mantra, m Yeah, I.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
Think just gotta prepare.
Speaker 5 (14:00):
They just got to keep preparing like the starters, you know,
the same conversations. And Matt Jones been having you know,
the last couple of weeks. You know, Uh, he adn't
think he was he know he was gonna have to start,
you know, the last couple of weeks. So, you know,
just big testament the guys that just come in prepared,
come in working, you know, like you know, they gonna
get their shot, gonna get a moment at any given time.
(14:22):
So I think that's the biggest thing about just having
a team full of you know, experienced players and you
know depth that you know, prepare well. So guys got
to step up and off for sure.
Speaker 3 (14:32):
Yeah, be robbed. What has that transition been like for
you going from Washington going down to San Francisco. What
has the transition been getting aclimated to the offense, getting
acclimated to the little atmosphere in new environment. What has
that been like for you?
Speaker 5 (14:47):
Uh, it's been good. You know, it's been a work
in progress for sure. You know, it was a quick,
quick turnaround for sure. You know, but I think you know,
with Kyle's offense is easy to you know kind of
you know, for my you know, there's a lot of
run you know, run run game in there, so like
it's easy for me to you know, pick up to
that stuff.
Speaker 6 (15:05):
You know.
Speaker 5 (15:05):
Obviously some of the urbage and stuff I'm still picking
up on, but you know, for the most part, I've
been picking up on stuff pretty fast.
Speaker 2 (15:12):
My running back coaches out there with y'all.
Speaker 1 (15:13):
Bobby Turner, you telling hey, so man, I was on
last night Bobby t He told me to tell you
what's up.
Speaker 4 (15:20):
Okay, I'm gonna for sure let him know tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (15:22):
I'm gonn let him know.
Speaker 1 (15:24):
What's been Kyle message to you guys. I've known Kyle
since who was twelve years old. I know a lot
of the guys out there because a lot of the
guys where you were with me when I was in Denver,
Kyle was in high school and when he went on
to the University of Texas. But I know a lot
of those coaches out there. So what's been Kyle message
to you guys? That keep you guys three, got you
(15:44):
guys three and know even though the injuries have started
to mount.
Speaker 5 (15:50):
I think it's the message that really sits with me
for really is he's been telling us, you know, just
just play desperate, you know, like you know, that's that's
just been a message. Just played this spread now and
I feel like, you know, that's enough said. Honestly, you know, shit,
everybody pretty much respond to that alone. Everybody knows exactly
what he mean when he said that, like, you know,
(16:11):
play desperate and shit.
Speaker 4 (16:12):
I feel like, you know that's that's the message, simple
as that.
Speaker 2 (16:16):
Brian. Okay, we hear this all of a sudden.
Speaker 1 (16:19):
I mean, I thought you was playing well for Washington
and then all you so you know, he might get
traded or if he did not get they can't find
a trade part and they're gonna release did did?
Speaker 2 (16:28):
Was there anything in training? Cap?
Speaker 1 (16:29):
Was it anything in the off season that led you
to believe that you wouldn't be a commander this season?
Speaker 4 (16:36):
I mean, honestly, I couldn't even tell you that. Uh.
Speaker 5 (16:40):
I was just so focused on, you know, just being
a commander. You know, That's what I felt like at
the time. That's the only thing I should have been
been focused on, you know, unless you know, somebody from
the higher up had a message they wanted to say,
you know, say something to me that made me think otherwise.
Other than that, you know, my only focus was being
a commander, you know, so you know, I couldn't tell
(17:02):
you nothing besides like the.
Speaker 4 (17:04):
Rumors, Yeah, I'm like that.
Speaker 2 (17:05):
That probably like triggered it.
Speaker 5 (17:07):
You know, but they don't really get too caught up
in rumors and stuff that go on on the internet.
Speaker 4 (17:12):
You don't really know. But apparently they was knowing, they
was knowing stuff.
Speaker 1 (17:17):
I ain't.
Speaker 3 (17:19):
Listen be robbed that that happened all of us, baby,
that happened all of us one day. Obviously it happened
to me uncle, I'm sure it's happen to you. And
sometimes you going about, you going on about your bening,
doing what you're doing for getting prepared for the season,
and all of a sudden, you know, it always comes
from in house too. It always comes in the house.
They purposely put it out there just to get just
to get the storm, just to get the storm going,
(17:41):
you know, and it lets you know, well, damn, that's
how y'all feel about me, everything of you, all of
work gotten put in the bloods. It's a window war
with y'all, and that's what y'all want to lead out there,
and it is. But listen, you off the greed of
passions obviously and enjoying it. How you enjoy your time
out there and in San Francisco so far?
Speaker 2 (18:02):
Shiit?
Speaker 4 (18:02):
Honestly, man, I just I mean, I jumped straight into it.
Speaker 5 (18:05):
Man, I ain't really have time to really just you know,
get out and really explore like that.
Speaker 4 (18:09):
You know.
Speaker 5 (18:09):
I'm sure when when the time come out, I'll see
what it's like. But you know, right now, it's just
been all ball for me.
Speaker 2 (18:15):
Man.
Speaker 5 (18:15):
I had to jump straight off the jet like yo,
like trying to trying to get into play. But you
know I was cause ship I gotta I'm not in
the same position, you know.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
I got like a rookie all over again. I gotta
learn the new.
Speaker 5 (18:26):
System, you know, I mean, but at the same time
also preparing like the start of that ship I always
been so you know, uh so when my normal car
like come in there and do my thing, you know,
So that's what I spear to do. So I'm you know,
just working on getting caught up to speed as fast
as I can, just so that it ain't no hiccups
when I get called. I don't care about the fact
(18:48):
that it's only been a couple of weeks. I ain't
making no excuses that you know what I'm saying when
it's time for me to spin spin?
Speaker 2 (18:55):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (18:55):
Yeah. Is the offense stramatically any different? I'm sure the
words are different, but are there any similarities from from
the commanders and what would you have to do with
the forty nine ers or is it completely different?
Speaker 5 (19:08):
I think we running a different scheme. You know, it's
definitely it's definitely a different scheme. And it's actually like
I like it.
Speaker 2 (19:15):
You know, one cut, get your ass down here.
Speaker 4 (19:19):
Exactly.
Speaker 2 (19:20):
You know that?
Speaker 5 (19:21):
Make that make enough sense? That makes enough sense to me,
you feel me? That makes sense to me. I'm good
with that.
Speaker 1 (19:26):
I blocked that one cut. He we're gonna cut the backside.
When you make a decision, when you put your foot
in the dirt, commit to that. Come on with it.
It's sure, barbit a, so we we practiced that. So
(19:46):
what the hell you doing it? Yeah, Barbit, don't play?
You know, I don't know if you know Barbit, barb
don't play. I ain't got to know him well over
the last Oh yeah for sure. Oh yeah, Barbit A
great guy, man, He a great guy. What's it like
having Christian McCaffrey. I mean, you're in the same meeting
room with Christian McCaffrey. Youre in the backfield sometimes. What's
(20:07):
it been like because you know, going to the Verse
of Alabama, you used to having you know, great back
great players around you. But he a different animal.
Speaker 5 (20:17):
Yeah, he definitely, you know, he is who he is though,
but he's super humble, you know, great you know, great teammate.
So it's you know, it's easy to you know, being
a room with him. He you know, he's just a
great team player, so he you know, he ain't too
caught up in you know, being Christian McCaffrey and all that.
You know, so shit, it's been pretty cool, you know,
(20:37):
just getting the norm and you get to play alongside
him and just seeing how he go about his business
and why he is the special player he is because
he handled he handled his business like that he'd be
on top of it, you know what I'm saying. It's
just been fun to watch just get the nor him
and you know, just see how he he's been great
like that.
Speaker 4 (20:57):
Over these years.
Speaker 3 (20:59):
Hey man, what is it like? Man, I'm like just
just the thought man and being able to share the field.
Kind I'm kind of kind of hurt almost a little
bit not being able to play in this era, because
there's some great players that I enjoyed watching, especially on
the deepensive side of the ball, that I would look
that I would have loved to go against. Fred Warner
has to be one of my favorite players. Man, what
(21:21):
did you You got to tell me? What is it
like being able to share the field with young bull
Man every time you're all out there on that field.
Speaker 5 (21:28):
Yeah, I think I think, you know, being able to
share the field Fred special, you know, that's a that's
a it's a moment in my life.
Speaker 4 (21:33):
I ain't gonna take for granted.
Speaker 5 (21:34):
For shore, I came out here the same France and
had to play against Fred.
Speaker 2 (21:38):
My rookie year. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (21:41):
Man, we we told each other up.
Speaker 2 (21:45):
We hit it. Look, we hit each other enough, just
you know after the game.
Speaker 5 (21:49):
Like like bro, respect, Yeah, you know what I'm saying,
respect for so you know what I'm saying. So you know,
by the time I walked in the building here, it
was just like you know, we still remember like no
moments like playing each other and I'm like, we're on
the same team, you know what I'm saying, So like, hey,
we're gonna we're gonna go do that to other teams.
Now we're gonna go do what we was going to
each other. We're gonna go do that to somebody else,
(22:10):
you know what I'm saying. So, yeah, I think that's
that's dope for sure.
Speaker 2 (22:14):
Rob.
Speaker 1 (22:15):
Do you remember uh first game you came out. It's
a tremendous meme. You came out running to many men
after the traumatic you ended up getting shot, and I
was like, well, he probably done for the year.
Speaker 2 (22:25):
In hell you back in no time.
Speaker 1 (22:27):
I'm like, damn, I mean, obviously that's a very traumatic experience.
What was it like running out after being shot? I
don't think you missed very many game? Would you missed
like three?
Speaker 2 (22:38):
Four games? Or you can't? You now you was right back? Yeah,
I only missed.
Speaker 5 (22:43):
I only missed the games that I was out for
the NFL.
Speaker 2 (22:47):
Yeah, reserve.
Speaker 5 (22:48):
Yeah, so you gotta you gotta you gotta miss you
gotta miss for a game. So those only those are
only four games I had missed.
Speaker 2 (22:55):
Did you know?
Speaker 1 (22:56):
Did you know you're gonna be able to make it
back so quick? So when this happened, so what what
what are the doctors telling you? What are the athletic
trainers telling you? And then what are you telling yourself?
Speaker 5 (23:08):
So the doctors actually told me that I would make
a full recovery. I would, you know, I would be
able to you know, play ball game, you know. So
that's the first thing the doctor told me. So once
I got out of there ship, I took it straight
to the recovery room, you know. And once I got
in the recovery room, it was just working progress, you know.
I you know, once I started walking and I was
(23:28):
able to job and just move my feet and just
do a little cuts and stuff to just make me
feel like myself again, I just started kind of ramping
myself up just in the in the training room again, stronger,
and really, shit, I still wasn't ready to play. I
just I wanted to play, you know. In my head,
I was like, you know, ain't nothing finna stop me
(23:50):
from playing. I'm playing man, especially after Shit again named
the starter too.
Speaker 4 (23:55):
I'm like, I got to get out the start of
my career as a starter.
Speaker 5 (23:58):
I gotta go get get get in there and get
act of like and uh, I wasn't even close to
hell and helped me when I even touched the field anyway,
not even close, not by a long shot.
Speaker 4 (24:11):
By long shot. I ran, I ran on one lig.
Speaker 5 (24:13):
I ran on one list for two years for sure,
like no doubt. But so when I when I finally
came back, this was the thing that this this was
the decision making time after I was had set out
for the first four games and I was able to
come back.
Speaker 4 (24:33):
You know, Rivera Rivera was my head coach at the time.
Speaker 5 (24:36):
Coach Rivera. He came in the locker room, he came
to me. He was just like, YO, totally up you.
I respect that though, you know what I'm saying. He
came up to me, he was just like, Yo, it
was totally up you. You know, like your call your shot.
I'm like, I'm going, you know, That's that was the
only words I have. I'm like, I'm going.
Speaker 1 (24:55):
So that's how That's just how going through this traumatic experience,
have you had to move differently? Have you surrounded yourself
with different people, make sure you stay out of certain areas?
So how has that had that impacted the way you
move day to day?
Speaker 2 (25:11):
Now?
Speaker 5 (25:14):
Honestly, I've always been the type that moved precisely, you know,
I always had that precision in my movements, you know,
So it was actually actually kind of shocking how that
even drew up on me. I didn't realize that the
city was just that bad, you know, I just didn't.
I didn't know it was that that that terrible out there.
Speaker 3 (25:34):
You know.
Speaker 4 (25:34):
I was just.
Speaker 5 (25:36):
Calmly stopping through, you know, I ain't know it was
that terrible, you know, to where I had to really,
you know, just be all the way on. Yeah, like
like I really wasn't even on that type of time
at the time, and you know, most like that's just
that's just how I naturally move anyway. So I kind
(25:58):
of let my guards down for a minute, down after
just getting the rules and stuff from the the NFL
security of our team that was just telling us.
Speaker 4 (26:07):
Like how the gun laws and stuff like that is
down there.
Speaker 5 (26:10):
So I'm like, all right, I ain't got ain't no
guns guns down, ain't gonna worry about the.
Speaker 2 (26:13):
Gun feel me so bad, please.
Speaker 5 (26:16):
My mindset, just my mind ship was just kind of
like I kind of like slept on I slept on
them for it, just a little I kind of slept
on them, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (26:25):
And it happened just that fast, just in that little
in that.
Speaker 5 (26:29):
Little, that little window where I was sleeping at I
took you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (26:33):
Yeah, they ran down the man you had the jewey,
they take anything up off you.
Speaker 5 (26:39):
Oh Man, I ain't really even have nothing nothing on
me but my wallet and my keys. But there was
there was more shocked as they was just as shocked
as I was. So it was just kind of like
we was at like a little standoff and I ain't
really come. I ain't give them, I ain't give them nothing.
But it was I just ain't really have time to
(27:02):
you know, Shi, it was just so fast. I ain't
really I ain't have time to do nothing real but
but what I did. But like I said, you never
know what you're gonna do until you get in a
situation like you know, I learned something about myself that day.
Speaker 3 (27:14):
You know.
Speaker 2 (27:15):
Uh, I'm glad.
Speaker 3 (27:17):
I'm glad you're good.
Speaker 2 (27:18):
Though.
Speaker 3 (27:18):
I'm glad you're good man by the grace of God,
Man to be able to continue doing what I'm sure
was your childhood dream, and that's playing the game of football.
Speaker 1 (27:27):
You are, you're from Tuscaloosa, Uh, with any would did
you consider going to any other school other than Alabama?
Speaker 2 (27:37):
No?
Speaker 5 (27:37):
I really ain't even gonna lie to you, bro, it
was always bamba Bro, it was always bamba man. I
even tried to go out and visit other schools, and
it's just it's just you right. Well really uh it
almost got a little rowdy as right before like it
was time for me to go and sign the school.
(28:00):
Kurb had got the head coaching job at Georgia after
being that after being at Alabama for those years, and
he was part of my recruiting process as well, so
you know, he kind of went and got that job
at Georgia, and.
Speaker 2 (28:13):
He was just like.
Speaker 4 (28:15):
Come on.
Speaker 5 (28:16):
I'm like, I'm like, I went over there and checked
him out, you know, me and my family went over there,
you know, sat down with him.
Speaker 2 (28:22):
You know.
Speaker 4 (28:24):
You know, he made it real interesting. He made it
an interesting.
Speaker 5 (28:27):
He finally had made my recruiting process interesting because at
that point I hadn't paid attention to nobody and Kirby
had got that job. He made it interesting for a short,
short second, and I was just like, nah, bro, I
can't do it.
Speaker 2 (28:44):
Give me your top five Alabama running backs of the
talk like that.
Speaker 4 (28:51):
I gotta go back. I gotta go back a few
years because.
Speaker 5 (28:55):
My first running back that I actually paid attention to
you know, just growing not being touch losive was Glenn cough.
So I'm gonna throw him in there. I'ma let Glenn slide.
Then I'm gonna let Mark Ingram get in there. I
gotta let Mark get in there.
Speaker 4 (29:13):
I gotta lit.
Speaker 5 (29:15):
I gotta let Trent get in there. I gotta let
Trent get in there. I gotta let Joss get in there.
Speaker 2 (29:22):
You gotta let Josh. You got spot.
Speaker 4 (29:28):
Not include myself.
Speaker 5 (29:29):
I'm not including myself, but I'm gonna put Derek intil
you gott But no, it ain't it ain't he ain't last.
It ain't really no order. Everybody doing their thing. It
ain't no order. When you when you're putting the bam
bags together, it really ain't no order. You know what
I'm saying. I don't know, like it really ain't no order.
You know obviously you can put them in your own order,
(29:50):
you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (29:55):
That's nice, man, a b rob. We appreciate you joining us. Man,
good luck, stay healthy and when your time coming there,
hey shine shine bright like a diamond.
Speaker 5 (30:04):
Bro, do your thing, no doubt, no doubt, no doubt.
Appreciate you. Appreciate what's up, bro?
Speaker 3 (30:10):
Hey, where you see Fred? We see Fred tomorrow, Tor Fred.
I would ran his ass over for QUI.
Speaker 4 (30:16):
All right, I'm gonna be the first person I talked
to it.
Speaker 2 (30:19):
All right, thanks for joining us.
Speaker 4 (30:22):
Oh Joe.
Speaker 2 (30:24):
The Eagles are three and oh.
Speaker 1 (30:25):
But one area that is still a work in progress
is the passing game. Phil it up in a week
four twenty nine in the NFL Passing Yards, A J.
Brown spoke about the need to shift when teams take away,
say Quon and be attackers on Sunday against the Bucks.
Let's take a listen to what aj had to say,
and how do you balance that?
Speaker 5 (30:44):
Then, now that it is public that that's how you
want this offense to be run, what are those conversations
look like with the coaching staff going forward?
Speaker 6 (30:50):
Then see that's going That's where I kind of messed
up at because you know, those are my feelings and
I expressed that to the world. So but obviously if
that doesn't go that way, obviously everyone's gonna say it
is not happy. But obviously the goal is to win
the game, and obviously we want to do that first.
But like I was just saying, like I think it
just kind of took too long for us as an
offense to adjust and uh, be more, be more aggressive,
(31:14):
you know, when one thing's not working. I was just saying, like,
let's not continue to keep trying to get our head
on the wall and see if it's gonna work, and
let's let's.
Speaker 2 (31:23):
Mix it up and do what we need to do.
So that's what I mean by that.
Speaker 3 (31:27):
And so yeah, man, I don't like that. I don't
like that. Let me go for I don't like that.
See I see he got that. He got that seal
on his chest. He got that seal on his chest.
So he is answering like he's Tom Brady and Peyton Manning.
(31:47):
Everything he gonna say is politically correct. See, I don't
like that. So I'm gonna say it for him.
Speaker 1 (31:54):
Hey, coach Patula, I'm a top five receiver in the league.
You hear me, Man, give me the ball early. It
ain't got to be nothing crazy.
Speaker 3 (32:04):
Just let me touch the ball early in the game,
in the first quarter. Let me touch it. Give me
a little smoke screen, give me a little bubble, give
me something to let me know, make me feel like
I'm a part of the game, a part of the system,
a part of the scheme. He ain't got to do much.
Speaker 2 (32:19):
Boy.
Speaker 3 (32:20):
We're one of the few teams they got two number
one receivers on the same field, and we wake to
the third and fourth quarter to get us the ball.
Speaker 2 (32:29):
Come on that.
Speaker 3 (32:30):
I understand that we three and oh, but it shouldn't
have to take for us being behind for us to
play aggressively and then have to throw the ball. Let's
have a little balance, give me because what's Chris with
no eggs? Huh? You hear me? Waffle with no syrup?
Speaker 2 (32:48):
All that coffee door. I'm concerned with who.
Speaker 3 (32:54):
Me? Yeah, Yeah, I'm good. I'm I'm a little excited.
When I get excited. I called you, That's all it is.
No man, I don't know, ye'ah get too excited. But hey, listen, hey,
aj man, say what you want to say. I'm gonna
say it for you. Man, get me the ball. Man,
you know what I could do. I'm him, I'm that
(33:16):
boy top five, and I'm telling you I understand the
way this business works. And if y'all keep playing with me,
y'all gonna come to me and knock on my door.
Speaker 2 (33:25):
T up.
Speaker 3 (33:25):
My production don't match my goddamn salary. And you trying
to take my chicken. And before you take my chicken,
I'm gonna say what I need to say publicly, but
I'm gonna say it the right way so it doesn't
offend nobody. But Coach Petula call plays for me. Bray,
let me get that rock early, you hear me. I'm
trying so we can fly high. We can fly high.
(33:47):
We know we three and oh. I know we three
and oh, but we don't have to be conservative going
into the game. I know we got saquon, but if
they got nine in the box, Hey, Jalen alert alert, alert,
alert alert.
Speaker 1 (34:01):
Hit me with that signal, boy ship, Why don't.
Speaker 3 (34:06):
Get me started, man, I don't think we got We
got a J. Brown and Devonte Smith and we tell
we twenty ninth in the past.
Speaker 1 (34:14):
Past because they keep banging against the world World did
that makes sense? Because teams did, because they're still trying
to Look. If you think you're gonna that sat Kwan
is gonna rush for two thousand yards a game that
you're gonna.
Speaker 2 (34:27):
Have the same level of success, it's not gonna happen. No.
You might. You might have to you might have to
throw early to run lately.
Speaker 3 (34:35):
Oh, my god, Oh my god, I'm so glad you
just said that, because the philosophy during our day. Uh,
the philosophy when we played is you run the ball
to open up the pass. You run the ball to
open up the past. That's how it was in the
early two thousands and before that. But we're in twenty
twenty five. Boy, it's a passing league.
Speaker 2 (34:56):
Nine.
Speaker 3 (34:57):
You ain't winning no games running the ball. Now. You
can be a fishing and win running the ball. When
you got twenty six back then, it's possible. But wait
a minute. Saquon ran for two thousand last year. So
what you think every team you played for the dude,
gear up to stop it. Put the Great we Forda,
put the Great Wall of China and stack nine in
the box. Beat us in the air.
Speaker 2 (35:18):
That's how you're gonna have to do it. Beat us
in the Teams are not gonna let Saquan. You see
the numbers.
Speaker 1 (35:24):
They're not gonna let Saquan beat them.
Speaker 2 (35:28):
They're not. They're not.
Speaker 1 (35:30):
They're gonna make they're gonna make Jalen consistently beat him
and more than and look he was in a situation
that aj had one of those games and they didn't
have anybody they could do, uh do anything with with
with AJ.
Speaker 2 (35:43):
But that's what you're gonna have to throw early, and
you're gonna have to throw early and run late.
Speaker 3 (35:47):
Whoa, whoa, whoa whoa what what you mean?
Speaker 2 (35:49):
What you mean?
Speaker 3 (35:50):
They was in a situation where they had a team
where nobody could do anything. But it ain't no, ain't
ain't too many, ain't too many corners and the league can
do anything with AJA anyway, But.
Speaker 1 (35:56):
They didn't really have anything. I mean, I think I
think the the Rams was out their best corner. So yeah,
you're right, I mean consistently, but I can I can
slow him down, right.
Speaker 3 (36:08):
I mean slow down? You can on Hey, listen, we
talked about AJ. We talked about a J. Brown. Huh
we talk about a J. Brown? Talk about slow down.
You could only hope to contain him.
Speaker 1 (36:18):
He won't tell you slow him down. That's kind of
what's slowing down and continue.
Speaker 3 (36:22):
That ain't enough. He's slowing down. It's still a productive day.
AJ Brown slowed down day is a productive day. I'm
just telling you what. I ain't tell you what I heard.
I'm telling you what I know. Devonte Smith a slow
Dave for Devonte Smith is the day other receivers wish for.
That's a good day.
Speaker 1 (36:42):
Come on, if if if the run game is not there,
we shouldn't have to wait till we get into the
fourth quarter, late third fourth quarter to start throwing the football. Yeah,
you got look right, your defense played outstanding. The Rams
really couldn't do anything the second happen and that was
because of Phillies defense.
Speaker 2 (37:03):
But you know you could have threw the ball earlier.
Speaker 1 (37:07):
So I think the thing is now, Oh Joe, you
start throwing it early and you get get aj and
Deamonte going off early. Now, that's gonna open up. That's
gonna open up of Saquon because right now, teams are
getting up to stop Saquon. They're gonna make They're gonna
make Jalen Hursts, and I know he's won a Super Bowl,
but still they're gonna make him prove that he can
beat them consistently throwing the football. Because I know if
(37:29):
we don't stop Saquan, we can't stop this. They ain't
even gonna be close. Because we saw when Saquon, You
saw what that offense look like. Jayla Hursts throw the
ball twelve times because why I don't need to sat
Quan running for a buck fifty. He running for two
hundred mm hmm. But teams are not gonna let them
let him get off like that this year, so they're
(37:50):
gonna have to They're gonna have to find other ways early.
Not saying Saquan won't be valuable now, I'm not saying
you just don't stop giving Saquon the ball.
Speaker 2 (37:58):
No, don't do that.
Speaker 1 (38:00):
Yeah, but I'm saying you got to get AJ and
Davante going a lot earlier than the final sixteen minutes
of a ball game. AJ going the whole first half
and not get a target simitie catching one.
Speaker 2 (38:12):
Come on, now, what we doing here? It's not that complicated.
Speaker 3 (38:18):
I wish, I boy, boy, Listen, I wish, I wish.
I don't know how much freedom Jaalen Hurts had. Well,
you got a super Bowl. You got a super Bowl
in your back pocket. Now you got a super Bowl
in your back pocket. You talk about I know Petula
calling plays most of the time. Listen, you make your
adjustments based on the defense of what's called. But if
I'm Jaalen, why come to that line?
Speaker 1 (38:38):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (38:38):
Let me ask your question.
Speaker 3 (38:40):
Now, see that safety drop down in that box and
stop the run.
Speaker 2 (38:44):
Yeah yo, let me let me let me.
Speaker 3 (38:49):
What's up.
Speaker 2 (38:50):
How much freedom Russell Wilson had after having a super Bowl?
Speaker 3 (38:55):
Oh see, unc, let me tell you something. I'm only
basing what I just said based on what Carson Palmer
was able to based on our chemistry we had together.
I'm not sure. I'm not sure how much freedom they
have in today's world and today's.
Speaker 2 (39:08):
But I'm saying or freedom because he won the Super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (39:13):
Russell Wilson won a super Bowl because he if he
had that freedom, he should have checked out of that play.
Speaker 2 (39:19):
Right.
Speaker 3 (39:20):
Oh, that's right, that's right, that's right. Can I say
something real quick? I think you know whould have got
the credit if they made that that that that play
was complete. You know who'd have been the hero of
that Super Bowl? No, no, if he didn't, he didn't.
(39:41):
You see what I mean? Who gets the credit?
Speaker 1 (39:44):
Well, I think the thing was is that was gonna
be the m v P because he was running the
hell out of the football.
Speaker 3 (39:50):
Oh absolutely absolutely, he was having he was having a
great day. I think I think I think that play
call probably came from the sideline.
Speaker 1 (39:59):
But I'm saying I agree with what you said is
that they call. But if Carson saw something, cartoon would
check out of it.
Speaker 3 (40:07):
Hey, he getting up out of it, and he not
even saying nothing. I have to make sure my eyes
stay on him. And I already knew if I if
we if we play, if we playing Baltimore and we
playing god damn Pittsburgh, understanding all that crazy exotic and
movement and all that movement they love to do. You
want to play around, man, Carson, come up by that
(40:29):
thing quick. Keep your eye on me, he has said
before I leave the huddle, keep your eye on me.
If they play around, we're going right to it. He
tap he at taped the side of his hip where
nobody can see but me, and I already know what
to do. It just made it made it made a
game of football so much easier. It made it so
much simpler because at times sometimes coaches they can complicate things.
Speaker 1 (40:54):
Hut you clamp what put the myths on you?
Speaker 3 (41:01):
What you what you talk about? You play baseball?
Speaker 2 (41:03):
Somewhere I played football?
Speaker 3 (41:06):
Or you're talking about like like you you're about like
lining up against me? Like you like lock yep jammer
man jam who you might be talking about? You about
Peter butter and jam Peter butter In.
Speaker 1 (41:16):
And Jelly jam Man. Don't don't do that. Don't do
that to yourself. Don't do that yard graveyard out there,
don't do that to yourself. How you think graveyard? Because
when I left the field there were bodies everywhere.
Speaker 2 (41:35):
No, they ain't.
Speaker 3 (41:35):
Ain't right. You got that name, No you got you
got that name. You used to work at the graveyard.
That's about it. You used to work at the grade.
Speaker 1 (41:45):
Hey, slide clock, come down hill like hey, I'll go Hey,
I'm putting it. I put the super Bowl upside.
Speaker 2 (41:53):
Of your head.
Speaker 3 (41:55):
It's one. It's one thing about it. But with all
due respect to all my opponents and everybody I played against,
I always showed nothing but love. I would never listen.
Couldn't nobody do.
Speaker 2 (42:03):
That with me. I'm gonna tell that coner. Hey, come
on inside, I got it.
Speaker 3 (42:09):
What's you gonna donna side you here? That that that
don't mean? But do you see what I did to
my opponent? What did you see what I did to my.
Speaker 1 (42:17):
Opponents trying to get physical and trying to hurt me.
It's not gonna do nothing hurt he You see a
you come across that bill on you. I put that
thing right there on you.
Speaker 2 (42:27):
You see that. Ono.
Speaker 3 (42:29):

Terrell Davis, number three, Gale Sayers number four, Monica Sellers
number five, Sandy Kofax. Number six was Grant Hill seven,
Penny Hardaway number eight, Sterling Shark number nine, Earl Campbell
(45:46):
number ten, Ken Griffy Jr. And then you had Andrew Luck,
Derrick Rose, Mike Trout, Arvita Sabonas, Ralph Sampson, Tracy McGrady,
Bill Walton, Pete Maravich, Maurice Stokes, Tony Klickleary, Bernard King, Brandon, Roy,
uh Del Poe, Wan Martin, Deal, Pelch, Poltro of the
(46:07):
Arching Team, Robert Griffith, and y'all mean, Oh Joe, if
I give an opportunity, you can bring five of these
guys back and put them back in their prime with
perfect help. Which guys are you picking? I think College
connig Leary got hit in the head with a with
a pitch.
Speaker 3 (46:28):
Damn Yeah. Five guys that bring back in their prime
actually during the era when they got hurt. I'm bringing
back bo Jackson.
Speaker 1 (46:38):
Actually, actually I saw both play. I was in the
league when both played.
Speaker 3 (46:42):
Yeah, I'm bringing back King Griff. Brandon Roy said, yeah,
Brendan Roy his knee.
Speaker 1 (47:02):
Yeah yeah, man needs uh some think who else on that.
I remember Monica Sellers. I remember when she was in
Germany and she ended up getting stabbed. She was because
the guy didn't want her to overtake Stefan Graff.
Speaker 2 (47:20):
She was. She was really the first one. I heard
you all that grunting.
Speaker 1 (47:25):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I remember.
Speaker 2 (47:29):
Now all of them do it? I can't.
Speaker 1 (47:30):
I can't even watch Channis with the sound. No, I
can't even to me and do everybody.
Speaker 2 (47:36):
To do it now? H A lot of these, like
I said, I played with t d Uh. I don't
remember Gail.
Speaker 1 (47:43):
Gail had blew out his knee and back then they
just they opened the knee up.
Speaker 2 (47:47):
It was that big zipper. Uh.
Speaker 1 (47:49):
Sandy cole Fax had elbow. I mean Sandy cole Fax.
I mean you talk about what he went three? I
think he went like three side Young's uh.
Speaker 2 (47:57):
Penny.
Speaker 1 (47:57):
My brother, Earl Earl Campbell was a fake three time
Offensive Player of the Year. I think Earl won the
m v P like its rookie year or something. Those
second year he was, he was amazing and he was
all they had. I remember him. It was him, Ken Burrow.
Ken Burrow had double zero. He was the lads got
to run where double zero shoe. He wasn't one zero.
(48:18):
He was double zero.
Speaker 3 (48:20):
Receiver with Hey, that's that's sweet right there.
Speaker 2 (48:26):
I like that.
Speaker 3 (48:28):
You got and you got and you gotta be that
boy to the way that single digit or wear double zero.
You gotta be him.
Speaker 1 (48:38):
So me, I'm bringing back, Oh d Roam, I'm bringing
my brother back.
Speaker 2 (48:46):
I'm bringing Bowl. I mean.
Speaker 1 (48:54):
TV already, TV got two Super Bowl. He's the league
m v P Super Bowl MVP.
Speaker 3 (48:59):
At that point. Here good at that point.
Speaker 1 (49:02):
Uh Man, Griffy Man, Griffy ran into the Griffy ran
into that Kingdom walk, Kingdom wall. Too many times. Griffy
had no regard for his for his body.
Speaker 3 (49:16):
Hey, hey, listen, Ken Griffy swing is basically the Mona Lease. Yeah,
his swing is equivalent to the Mona League.
Speaker 1 (49:26):
Raft of Sam Foot forward Samson. I remember him at Virginia,
took him to the final four his his freshman year.
Never got back that far. They ended up losing. I
mean they got beat. The biggest upset probably was Shamanad
took them down. There was a number one team in
the country. Shamanad beat them. But he's a three time
player of the year. People don't realize this.
Speaker 2 (49:50):
That he was.
Speaker 1 (49:50):
He was the envy, he was the conference player of
the year. Uh when when.
Speaker 2 (49:58):
He look Jordan eighty four because he left in eighty three. Man,
it's some names on here.
Speaker 1 (50:07):
O Joe bird Dog, Bernard King One, Martindale Poltrow. We
all say what if? What if? Oh Joe? Now it's
time for our final sigma. The evening, It's time for
Q and A.
Speaker 3 (50:25):
Damn. Hey, it's one in good Lack. Hey, we can
go for an extra hour to night.
Speaker 2 (50:30):
But I'm been a good I need some sleep. Uh,
Quinn Mo, you gotta go tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (50:36):
Huh, you gotta go tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (50:39):
I just got back home today.
Speaker 3 (50:42):
You sleepy?
Speaker 2 (50:44):
I will be when I get off here. I'm going
to sleep.
Speaker 3 (50:46):
Yeah, okay, my bad. We on tomorrow, right, We on Friday?
Speaker 2 (50:51):
No, I got something to do Friday.
Speaker 3 (50:54):
Okay, all right, Tomorrow we'll do three hours tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (50:57):
We got a special guests Tomorrow, we got a special guest. Oh, oh, oh, Joe,
I can't tell you.
Speaker 1 (51:03):
Why y'all don't be why y'all don't be telling me.
I ain't gonna tell nobody. I promise Whisper tell nobody else.
Quittin Mobley said, what's up up? Back in March, you
said Zion wasn't that disciplined guy for the Pelicans organization
and he didn't want it.
Speaker 2 (51:17):
What are your thoughts now? Man?
Speaker 1 (51:18):
Slim up, it's a contract your Pelicans and five. He
look good, he looked unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (51:26):
We about the same sound.
Speaker 1 (51:28):
The thing is is that the off season is the
easy part. You gotta be disciplined and structure during the
season because you flying. When you're getting in at three
o'clock in the morning. Are you gonna make smart eating decisions?
Or are you gonna go get pizza? Are you gonna
get chicken? Or are you gonna get the salad, the
chicken breast, the baked chicken, the rotisserie chicken, things of
(51:50):
that nature. That's when it gets hard. You're struck. You're
structuring the Bible. You ain't trying to know where Joe,
you sit home, You gonna train, You got your chef
cooks your food.
Speaker 2 (52:00):
Boom you there.
Speaker 1 (52:01):
You have to make those same decisions that he made
to look like he looked, and he looks incredible.
Speaker 2 (52:07):
Yeah, you have to look like that.
Speaker 1 (52:08):
He will have to keep that same discipline and focus
throughout the season.
Speaker 2 (52:12):
Go ahead, O Chu.
Speaker 3 (52:13):
You know what the funny thing is is whoever he
has around it right now, whatever a team of people
are helping him to get to the point he's gotten to. Now,
those same people in that same team will probably be
there in that structured environment when it's time to play
to make sure he stays intact and on the same
program that he's on right now. He looks phenomenal, He
looks phenomenal. I'm not sure what it will change as
(52:35):
far as far as his game goes, game is concerned.
He gonna have that same bounce, He's gonna have that
same hop, that same power. I think. I think he's
gonna be okay because whoever got him to this point now,
understanding that it is a contract year, they're gonna be
with him along the way on this entire journey through
the whole.
Speaker 1 (52:51):
I hope so Lady Ray said, Hey, guys, Josh Mittelli's
does an ig segment called tell Us with Mattella's scold,
I'm thinking we need old cap recap with Shannon and
capping with Ocho segments for Nightcap.
Speaker 3 (53:07):
Yeah, what what cappen means? H? Well that's a bigger
that's a bigger ass hat.
Speaker 2 (53:20):
Well you got that point.
Speaker 3 (53:22):
I ain't get that.
Speaker 1 (53:26):
And if if you sent one, you know, man, hey, listen.
Speaker 3 (53:36):
Everybody thinking I'd be lying on I be, I'll be
I'll be capping. But any time I on her, this
is nothing but but life experiences. I'm telling y'all stories
from my past on things that I've done and the
chieve in life that when they want no cameras, Yeah,
I appreciate that.
Speaker 2 (53:58):
JBS folks B said what cigar you smoking? O yoe?
Speaker 3 (54:02):
Oh hey, but this right here? Butttle, I got the
point is what do you know about that?
Speaker 2 (54:09):
Worry about it?
Speaker 1 (54:10):
I had, I got a I went to damn Marino
a golf tournament and I won.
Speaker 2 (54:14):
Uh they had like a limited release. I think they
did like fifty boxes and I bed. I won, But
I forgot. I didn't know at the time. I ain't
know about the cigar. I ain't know. You had to
be in a human door and they dried out. They
got to be in the human door.
Speaker 3 (54:34):
They gonna get stell. Are you a messed up? But
that good money man, you don't, you know, waste money man,
that's good money.
Speaker 2 (54:42):
I get it.
Speaker 1 (54:43):
Aaron Olden says, when when l Way retired, was it
any trade discussion to get a Vent for the ninety
nine season or was the organization Riddy with Brian Greasy
well at the time, Bubby who had backed up John
in nineteen ninety eight, he came back. He was gonna
be the start of Bubby ends up Gett hurt and
Grease it ends up starting. So that was you know,
(55:03):
Mike was said that he thought that we had enough
with Bubby and Greece to to to win. And you
know TD was back. TV was at the best back
in one of the two three or four best players
in the league. He was the best running back in
the game. And Mike thought we had enough. But nah,
we didn't. Ms q O, Joe, what would you rather
(55:26):
have as a QB in order of success? An elite
O line, average skill group? Skill uh, an elite skill
group or an average offensive line.
Speaker 2 (55:38):
Oh that's a good one.
Speaker 3 (55:42):
I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go with elite officive line
because you got all the time in the world with the.
Speaker 1 (55:48):
Guy get over. You could be average to get over.
You got enough time they get open. Now you could
be elite all you want to when they just when
them turnstiles, Nah, bear down, Ken, Oh Joe, I'm going
to Miami next month. What are some good food spots?
And don't say no damn McDonald's.
Speaker 3 (56:08):
Let me tell you. Hey, let me tell you buy
some good food spots. Boy, if you're going down to Miami.
Matter of fact, next month, if you're going down to Miami, boy,
hit your boy. You hear me, Hit your boy. Just
send me and send me and see me a message
on Instagrams and I'm gonna see it. But we hang
out together, you hear me. First of all, I need
to do me, to do me a favor, I need
to hit I Crave. It's in Liberty City where I
grew up. You're gonna love his soul food. I don't
know if you like soul food, but you need to
try it. Also, Keevon Webster has a restaurant called Smith
(56:32):
and Webster. You got to hit that too.
Speaker 2 (56:34):
What they serve Boom Smith.
Speaker 3 (56:37):
Oh, but they serve everything but that that's fine. Downing
boy Cavon, Cavon stought everything. They got everything, you got,
you got. I've seen the menu. The third restaurant you
need to try. I love Cuban food. I rotate the
same restaurants over and over. You got to hit Okay,
you listen to me. I'm making sure you write these down. Okay, Boom,
(56:57):
Cuban Food, Havana, Cuban Cuisine that's out west is out
there by me. Okay, Cuban Cuisine. You got to hit
those three. Outside of that, everything else everybody will suggest
is that five star stuff. You got to go dressed
up and all that. If that's something you want to do,
you do. If you're coming down here with a girl,
one spot that's five star that I would say for
(57:19):
the experience for your lady or your family, go to
the Machai Restaurant. The Machai Restaurant is the Polynesian restaurant.
That's very nice. They put on the show fire Show
with the Simons and the Ussos. You will enjoy that
as well. Now that's my four. And as a treat
for dessert, try McDonald's.
Speaker 2 (57:39):
Uh Oho ninety seven.
Speaker 1 (57:40):
Ask pay one, Trade one, Wave one, AJ Brown, Jamar Chase,
I'm in Ross Saint Brown.
Speaker 3 (57:49):
Hey, that's not fair, man, Why.
Speaker 2 (57:52):
Are we doing this? Yih me?
Speaker 3 (57:55):
I don't like that. I don't like that, just like
for for the sake for the sake of argument, for
the hypothetical that you I'm gonna pay, I'm gonna pay,
I'm gonna pay Chase, Okay, And what was the second
what was the second?
Speaker 2 (58:08):
Trade one?
Speaker 1 (58:09):
And then you gotta wave one and the last two
you got Amrah or you got a J. So you're
gonna trade a J and wave amen Ra or you're
gonna trade amen Ra and wave a J.
Speaker 3 (58:22):
That's hard. That's hard. That's hard. I like I like
both of them too.
Speaker 1 (58:27):
But they're different too. They're so different. Yeah, completely so different. Different,
two different type of animals. But they're really good at
what they do. They're really good. One one strength is
another weaknesses and another weakness.
Speaker 3 (58:42):
Uh you know what, I'm and Ral is balling right now,
and I'm gonna just base everything off of right now.
I'm gonna trade Amora, i'ma wave a J. But in
real life, I ain't doing none of that. But go ahead.
I'm just.
Speaker 2 (59:00):
Need y'all opinion.
Speaker 1 (59:00):
If y'all had to choose a D line and linebackers
to face nineties Cowboys, O line, but Barry Sanders at
running back, not Emms Smith.
Speaker 2 (59:09):
Who y'all picking to stop? Who y'all picking? Nobody?
Speaker 3 (59:13):
Ain't nobody finna stop that you tripping? Did you hear
what he just said with Barry Barry Sanders? Man, please
and go ahead and handing people to Lombardi?
Speaker 2 (59:25):
Please?
Speaker 1 (59:28):
Uh? Iggy said eighty five porters O cho Sinko Diamonds.
Speaker 3 (59:34):
Yeah, but you know if you I help Future write
that song, people don't even know that.
Speaker 2 (59:39):
No, they didn't.
Speaker 3 (59:40):
I'm not saying right, I'm just saying Future consulted me
when he made that song.
Speaker 2 (59:46):
Oh, Joe Kevin know what Jr? Said?
Speaker 1 (59:47):
Oh, I've been listening to y'all all day. I love y'all.
My question, who's your top four blues singers? My number
one is Marvin Cees, then Marvin Gay.
Speaker 3 (01:00:01):
Oh well, that's a good one top blues singers. Oh
we I don't really look at Marvin Well.
Speaker 1 (01:00:14):
I guess rhythm. I guess R and B rhythm blues.
That's so I guess that's where he's going with it.
Oh well, Marvin would be number one for me.
Speaker 2 (01:00:26):
Damn.
Speaker 1 (01:00:26):
Then we got Luther, we got Teddy, Verry White, Donnie Hathaway.
Speaker 3 (01:00:34):
I mean, that's not blue, that's not that's not blues though,
like B B B B.
Speaker 1 (01:00:39):
King, Marvin Gay, I don't think mar I mean if
you talking about if you talk straight blues, no, I
don't agree with you.
Speaker 3 (01:00:48):
That's a different genre though. I agree Marvin that that
ain't blue blues is.
Speaker 2 (01:00:52):
Like, yeah, Bobby Blue playing that's blues.
Speaker 1 (01:00:57):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, Bessie Bessie Smith's John Lee Hooker.
Speaker 3 (01:01:03):
Oh but hey, we just brought back some memories. Boy,
whoever asked that question, thank you, thank you. It's so funny.
I go to the Blue Hey, the fact that they
asked that question, and then I'm stumped and I be
at the Blues Hey, Blue Jean Blue. See, you don't
come to Miami, man, you could have went to the
Piano Ball and the Blues Club with me. Blue Jean
