Speaker 1 (00:03):
I'm Nico Parton were starting out in Ohio, where a
tragic shooting resulted in the deaths of two children and
two adults. According to Tiffin Police, the children's mother emerged
physically unharmed, but was deeply shaken, visibly traumatized, and in shock.
Following the incident, officers received a distress call from the
mother around six twenty four pm reporting the heartbreaking event

(00:28):
at her home on huss Street. As detailed in a
statement from the Tiffin Police Department, the mother, who has
a seven year old and a seven month old, was
in the process of moving from her home due to
domestic violence. The father of the older child, twenty nine
year old Dustin Wiley, was helping her with the move,
while the forty two year old father of the infant,

(00:49):
Ryan Egan, was reportedly working out of town at the time.
Investigators indicated that Wiley and the mother were inside the
house gathering items to move when they heard the seven
year old cry. Upon checking outside, they discovered Egan in
the driveway. Eyewitnesses informed authorities that Egan pursued Wiley and
discharged several rounds before tragically directing the gun on the

(01:14):
other child, fatally injuring them both and then firing again
at Wiley. Egan subsequently took his own life. This as
reported by police. Emergency responders, including the tiff And Fire
and Rescue transported Wiley to tiff And Mercy Hospital, where
he later died from his injuries. The infant and Egan

(01:34):
wouldn't pronounced dead on the scene, while the seven year
old was taken to the hospital, where he later passed away.
Police confirmed that the responding officers did not discharge their
weapons and reported no injuries among law enforcement personnel. The
mother informed a police that she was moving out, believing
her husband was working out of town and thought this
was a safe time to make her move. The Ohio

(01:57):
Bureau of Criminal Investigation has been brought in to assist
with the ongoing investigation. Coworkers of the oldest child's father
say they are heartbroken, recalling his big heart and love
for all. As of Friday morning, authorities were still in
the process of gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses. Tiff And
Police Chief David Pauley expressed the community shock, saying this

(02:21):
type of horrific and heartbreaking event is not something we
are accustomed to in Tiffin. I urge all residents to
keep the families of the victims in their thoughts as
they navigate this unimaginable loss. I also ask that we
remember the officers, firefighters, dispatchers, emergency medical personnel, and everyone
involved as they deal with the emotional aftermath of this tragedy.

(02:44):
And the mother who lost both of her children and
the fathers of both of her children. More crime and
justice news after this. A man from Alabama has been
sentenced to life in prison after fatally shooting a motel
owner during a disagreement over checking into a room. At

(03:07):
the sentencing, the victim's daughter expressed her profound sorrow towards
the father's murderer, stating that he had quote destroyed the
foundation of our entire family. She addressed thirty four year
old William Moore directly asserting you turned our lives into
a permanent crime scene. Moore was convicted of murder in
Culbert County after he shot Praven Patel three times in

(03:30):
the face and chest amid an altercation regarding his attempt
to check in to the Hillcrest Motel, which Patel owned.
The confrontation escalated when Moore brandished a gun after being
informed that he was trespassing. A nearby barbershop worker recalled
hearing the rapid gunfire, describing it as pal pow pow,

(03:50):
as Patel attempted to escort More off the property. The
shooting occurred just before Moore fled the scene. Surveillance footage
presented during the trial captured the ncident and the events
leading up to it. We had clear video evidence of
the incident itself, stated Colbert County Assistant District Attorney Summer George.
Our hearts and prayers go out to the Patel family,

(04:11):
witnessing that footage has undoubtedly taken a significant emotional toll
on them. During his sentencing, More claim to suffer from
PTSD as a result of his military service, mentioning a
troubled past, including a period of homelessness living in the
woods before the shooting. Patel's daughter concluded with a poignant statement,
we will serve a life sentence of grief because of
