Speaker 1 (00:00):
Crime Alard hourly update breaking crime news Now. I'm Jackie Hallward.
It didn't take long for convicted quadruple killer Brian Coburger
to request a transfer. The Idaho killer has submitted a
handwritten sexual harassment complaint. This after information was leaked at
how inmates had already been harassing Coburger through prison vents.

(00:24):
Here's Drew Nelson.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
The inmates at the Idaho Maximum Security Institution and KUNA
were prepared and waiting to make Coburger's life in prison
a living hell. Inmates at the only high security prison
in Idaho get together and plan how best to harass
and bully Coburger. Carrying out a relentless campaign against the killer.
Inmates are taking turns yelling at him through vents into

(00:46):
his cell around the clock. Coburger is already whining to
the guards, but since Coburger is being held in J
Block in solitary, he isn't at risk of being physically
harmed by other prisoners, the guards won't do anything to
say stop the harassment.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
The handwritten note requesting Coburger be placed in a different
facility after a single night in J Bloc. Coburger's printed
request said not engaging in any of the recent flooding striking,
as well as being subject to minute by minute verbal
threats or harassment, and on that and other bases. Unit

(01:22):
two of J Block is an environment I wish to
transfer from. Flooding refers to inmates intentionally causing water to
overflow in their cells to cause a disruption. Five days later,
Coburger complained of sexual harassment in a concerned note to
a prison guard after an inmate allegedly threatened anal rape.

(01:45):
He accused another inmate of saying, the only ass will
be eating is Coburger's. Coburger claims a guard witnessed the
alleged threats. That guard reported three days later, saying he
recalls vulgar language being used and directed toward Coburger, but
he was not able to determine which inmates said what.

(02:06):
Coburger was transferred to the J Block on July twenty ninth.
J Block is a unit that can house up to
one hundred and twenty eight individuals and includes a mix
of general population, protective custody, and death row inmates. These
are single person cells. Inmates are transported in restraints and
receive one hour of outdoor recreation. Daily showers are allowed

(02:28):
every other day in jail, Coburger was allowed to take
hour long showers. Coburger asked if he could be transferred
to the B block, which like J block, includes single
person sells and only allows non contact visits. No word
yet on a reply. More crime and justice news After this.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
For the first time, Austin Drummond, the man charged with
the murders of four people and the abandonment of a
baby in western Tennessee, speaking out. Drummond was arrested earlier
this month in Jackson, approximately seventy five miles from Lake County,
the site of the tragic killings. On July twenty nine,
authorities uncovered the bodies of four family members in Lake County,

(03:17):
Adriana Williams, James Matthew Wilson, Courtney Rose, and their teenage
relative Braden Williams. On the same day, an infant related
to the deceased was found safe, left alone in a
car seat on the lawn of a stranger's home in
Dyer County. Investigators have revealed that Drummond had a connection
to the victims as he was dating Rose's sister. He

(03:39):
evaded capture for nearly a week, drawing national attention and
instilling fear in the communities of northwest Tennessee. In an
interview with news Channel five, Drummond claimed he was working
as a confidential informant after being approached by prosecutors. He
asserts that he assisted law enforcement, including the FBI, in
undercover operations targeting drug trafficking into jails and prisons, leading

(04:04):
to the arresk of dealers, corrupt law enforcement officials, and
gang leaders. Drummond acknowledged his previous association with the Vice
Lord's gang from a prior incarceration. He stated that he
had recently learned that his undercover status had been compromised,
prompting him to flee after the murders. While Drummond confessed

(04:24):
to a running away out of fear, he maintains his
innocence regarding the killings, insisting he had no motive to
harm the victims, whom he regarded as family. However, he
did indicate, without further clarification, that he was somehow involved
in the incident. When questioned about the circumstances surrounding the
murders and the baby's connection to the case, Drummond was

(04:47):
not prepared to provide answers. Following Drummond's remarks, NBC reached
out to Lake County District Attorney Danny Goodman Junior, who
was already aware of the conversation. Al jail phone calls
are recorded and have been added to the criminal case file.
The district attorney refrained from commenting specifically on Drummond's statements.

(05:08):
He did express confidence that Drummond was responsible for the
four debts and identified a clear motive behind his actions.
