Speaker 1 (00:00):
Crime Alart hourly update, breaking crime news Now. I'm Nicole Parton.
The man accused in the assassination of Charlie Kirk, was
back in court and Judge Tony Graff has permitted Tyler
Robinson to attend court dressed in civilian clothes, though he
will remain shackled for security reasons.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
The court finds that mister Robinson's right to the presumption
of innocence outweighs the minimal inconvenience of permitting civilian attire,
and mister Robinson shall be dressed as one who has
presumed innocent. Accordingly, the defendant's request to appear in civilian
clothing for all pre trial proceedings is granted. Mister Robinson

(00:43):
also requests to appear unrestrained during pre trial proceedings. He
argues at visible restraints would prejudice potential jurors, undermine his dignity,
and interfere with his ability to communicate with counsel. The
charges he faces are extraordinarily serious, carrying potential penalties of life, imprisonment,

(01:03):
or death. The safety of mister Robinson, the attorneys, court staff,
and the public must remain the Court's highest priority.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
Robinson's legal team argued that allowing him to wear regular
clothes was essential to mitigate negative pre trial publicity. Despite this,
Judge Graf ruled at Monday's hearing that Robinson would be shackled,
citing safety concerns. This case has drawn significant public and
media scrutiny. Images of mister Robinson in prison GARB are

(01:35):
likely to spread widely and potentially swageurs, Judge Graff stated
while delivering his ruling. Robinson faces charges of assassinating conservative
political figure Charlie Kirk during an event at Utah Valley
University last September. Judge Graf noted that while the presumption
of innocence should be upheld, the sheriff's office convenience was

(01:57):
not enough to grant the request for Robinson to appear
here unshackled. The severity of the charges he faces could
result in life in prison or even death. Ensuring the
safety of mister Robinson, his legal team, court personnel, and
the public must be the court's top priority, he emphasized. Additionally,
Judge Graft modified a decorum order to restrict media coverage

(02:21):
of the case, prohibiting any filming of Robinson as he
enters or exits the courtroom, as well as images depicting
his restraints. He did not make a decision regarding request
to ban cameras entirely from the courtroom or to conduct
non evidentiary hearings virtually, instead calling for further arguments on

(02:42):
that matter. Robinson's defense attorneys had urged the court to
allow him to wear civilian clothing and to restrict camera access,
citing significant pre trial publicity, including AI generated images from
his previous appearance, which had captured him on a video
screen from the Utah County Jail. During Monday's hearing, Robinson

(03:03):
did not appear on any screens. Instead, he communicated to
the judge that he could hear the proceedings through a
video feed provided to the jail. War Crime and Justice
News after this and now to Tennessee. A mother from

(03:24):
Clarksville accused of causing the death of her teenage son
due to starvation over three years ago, is preparing to
face trial on Monday. On July six, twenty twenty two,
officers from the Clarksville Police Department responded to a residence
on Virginia Terrace, where they discovered the lifeless body of
thirteen year old Caderis Maddox. Kadaris mother, Cheyenne Maddox, was

(03:49):
arrested that day on five counts of child abuse and
neglect following the discovery of other children living in unsanitary
conditions inside the home. She was laid released on bond.
In August twenty two, Cheyenne was re arrested on charges
of aggravated child abuse, neglect, and endangerment connected to kadarius death,

(04:11):
but was again released after posting bond. And autopsy revealed
that Kadarius, who had cerebral palsy, weighed only thirty five pounds.
He died from malnutrition, with his death being classified as
a suspected homicide. In October twenty twenty two, Cheyenne was
indicted for criminal homicide. She surrendered to authorities at the

(04:35):
Montgomery County Jail and was formally charged with first degree
felony murder. During a court appearance later that month, where
she requested a reduction of her one million dollar bond,
a detective testified about Kadera's severe physical condition, noting that
he had nonexistent muscle mass and a very prominent skeletal structure.

(04:58):
The detective also meant that Cheyenne claimed to have purade
Cadara's food for easier consumption, yet no blender or any
way of purading food was found inside the home. Kadara's grandmother,
Don Maddox, had previously shared her thoughts with News Too,
emphasizing her belief that more could have been done to

(05:19):
save him. There were too many people who could have intervened.
She said, they should have removed him from that situation,
and until they are held accountable, true justice for Cadarius
remains elusive. Throughout the years, Cheyenne has asserted her innocence.
In an October twenty three interview from jail, she said,
the allegations are untrue. I love my son dearly and

(05:40):
did not harm him. It's not as if I woke
up one day and chose to give him up. Jury
