The charge is stemmed from repeated contact with young girls
while he worked as a substitute teacher at Spring Mills
Elementary and Island Township. The assaults took place inside the school.
Victims testified he touched them while they sat on his lap.
The court heard that he used his position of trust
and his physical closeness to children to hide what he
was doing. At sentencing, the judge rejected his apology.

He sexually assablted all of these children. So now you're
a convicted sex offender. So the fact that you see
in here is say that, oh, I know, I'm taking
responsibility for it. Sorry, they misinterpreted it. No one misinterpreted it.

The first report to police came in April of last year.
Doherty was suspended the same day. In August of twenty
twenty four, he was formally charged. Ten victims were later
identified in the investigation, though the criminal case focused on
six charges involving several of the girls who testified. Doroty
remained free on seventy five thousand dollars bond until his conviction.

In court, families described the impact of the abuse. One
mother said her daughter still has nightmares and is afraid
to trust anyone. One father pondered how many more victims
may be out there. In a public statement, the school
district said, quote, the safety and well being of our
students remain our highest priority. We are grateful to the
students and families who came forward, and we thank law

charged with second degree murder after her two month old
son died from asphyxia while she was passed out drunk
on the couch. Brendan Spencer, aged thirty three, was arrested

more than seven months after her son, Rory Kelson, was
found unresponsive in the family's South Oklahoma City home. Police
said Rory was at his mother's feet while she slept
on the couch holding his twin sister. Spencer told police
she was quote probably really drunk when she fell asleep.
The incident happened in the early morning hours of November
two of twenty four. Spencer and her partner, James Kelson,

told police they drank a twelve pack of White Claws together.
Kelson said he went to bed around one am, leaving
Spencer with the babies. Surveillance video showed Spencer later bought
four nineteen ounce tall boy cans from nearby seven to
eleven around one thirty am. Spencer reportedly passed out on
the couch after returning home at six forty five am.

Kelson found her there holding her daughter while Rory lay
lifeless at her feet. He called nine to one one.
First responders tried to revive Rory, but were unsuccessful. According
to the medical examiner, Rory died of asphyxia caused by
an unsafe sleep environment. A child abuse examiner later concluded
Rory was a victim of neglect. He said Spencer's quote

awareness levels were altered due to her level of intoxication.
He also stated that had Rory been left in a bassinette,
he would likely still be alive. Police found at least
fifteen empty cans of alcoholic seltzer at the scene. James
s Kelson has not been charged. He posted on Facebook
after the arrest asking for help, quote does anyone know

Her bailist set at five hundred thousand dollars. She's due
in court on August fifth. Christine Tina Greene, aged sixteen,
was last seen around eight a m April twenty third
of nineteen eighty five. She left her family's home on
Greenway Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia Pennsylvania. She was supposed to

board the Woodland Avenue trolley and head to Bartram High School,
but she never got there. Tina was one of eight children.
She was very close with her siblings. Her mother was
bed ridden from illness, and she was described as having
a strong bond with her. Tina was a good student.
She had no history of skipping school. Police looked into
the idea that she may have run away because of
a possible pregnancy, but no one could confirm that. Eight

months later, in December of eighty five, another student from
Bartram High also went missing. His name was Alan Briscoe.
Reports say he was last seen leaving school early that day.
He and a friend took the subway and later rode
a bus back to their neighborhood. Alan got off the
bus and said he was going to see a girl,
but he never came home. Police have looked into whether
Tina and Alan's cases could be linked. Both are still unsolved.

Tina was five feet ninety pounds. She was white with
black hair, brown eyes, and a scar on her left
side from kidney surgery. Her nickname was Dinky. At the
time she disappeared, she was wearing a pink blouse, blue vests,
