A family from Kentucky is expressing their anguish over the
release of the man who was convicted of fatally stabbing
their son. In twenty fifteen, Ronald Exantus traveled from Indianapolis
to Versilles, where he carried out a string of stabbings,
resulting in the death of a six year old little boy,
Logan Tipton, and injuring his father and two sisters. Dean Tipton,
(00:28):
Logan's father, recounted the horrifying experience. He said, I was
standing over him and he just threw me across the
room like I was nothing, and went after my daughter.
Speaker 3 (00:38):
He stood up with me on top of him, just
stood up and threw me ten fifteen feet across the
room and went after her. And when I got to
the top of the stairs, he attacked me. They come
at me with the knife.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
The Tipton family did not know Exantus, who gained entry
to their home through an unlocked door that fatal night.
Dean describes December seventh, twenty fifteen, as a date that
forever altered their family's life, recalling how he was awakened
by his children's cries, only to discover they were being
attacked by a man. The tragedy deepened with Logan's death,
(01:12):
leaving his father feeling hopeless and without purpose. He said,
I would lie in bed, having given up on life,
my family and everyone.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
I just wanted to die. He admitted.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
I laid in bed, I gave up. I gave up
on life, I gave up my family, I gave up
on everybody. I just wanted to die.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
The family has struggled to heal in the years since,
trying to grapple with the deep emotional scars. Now they
face renewed pain upon learning that the man convicted of
killing their son will no longer be in prison. Everyone
deserves a chance to see justice served, but that's not happening,
lamented Phyllis Tipton, Logan's grandmother. The Tiptons were informed that
(01:56):
Exantas will be on parole for six months in Florida
on his release and then walk away as a freeman.
Little Logan's father said, I've had my conversations with God,
but I told the court, if I ever see him again,
I will kill that man. More crime and justice news
after this.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
