I'm Jennifer Gould. A Florida woman is fighting for her
life after her seventy three year old boyfriend allegedly went
from gifting her flowers and chocolates to trying to burn
her alive in her home the very next day. William
Clements Junior is now locked up accused of a horrific
act of betrayal and violence against the woman he used

to live with. The victim's friend, Angela Clusik, says she
was napping in her bedroom with the door locked when
Clemens broke in. Angela spoke to wesh Too News.

According to an arrest affidavit, the victim, whose name is
not being released, awoke to the smell of gas and
the sight of flames at the bottom of her bedroom door,
trapping her inside the inferno. Meanwhile, neighbors reportedly saw Clements
fleeing the scene in a hurry. Around the same time
the fire erupted. Brevard County deputies and first responders arrived

to a scene of chaos and danger. They managed to
rescue the trapped woman and her dog by ripping open
her bedroom window from the outside. Court Docks described the
victim as struggling to breathe, bright red and had skin
peeling off of her body as she was pulled from
the burning home. She was airlifted to a hospital with

burns covering nearly sixty percent of her body. Even with
a severely burned throat, she bravely managed to tell police
that she believed Clements was the one who tried to
kill her, chillingly referencing a prior statement he allegedly made
of quote, you don't kill a woman, you just permanently
disfigure them.

Police apprehended Clements soon after arriving at the scene. Has
alleged response when confronted, quote you're here from me right.
Firefighters investigating the blaze found two separate points of origin,
a clear indication that the fire was intentionally set. They
also found a five gallon red gas can inside the

charred remains of the home, adding a disturbing layer to
the already horrific case. The victim's friend revealed that Clemens
had bought her flowers and chocolates. The night before the
alleged arson attack. Furthermore, the victim's sworn statement detailed a
history of violence within their nine month relationship, and investigators
even found photos of prior injuries on her phone. Clements

criminal history stretches back to a nineteen ninety three conviction
for kidnapping and spousal rape for which he was still
on parole for at the time of the alleged arson.
Initially charged with aggravated battery and false imprisonment, Clemens now
faces a slew of additional charges, including attempted murder, animal cruelty,

emergency suspension of Yates's registered nurse license, declaring that her
alleged conduct posed a quote immediate serious risk to the
public end quote. According to a Marion County Sheriff's Office
arrest affidavit, the sordid details unfolded in July of twenty
twenty four. The fifteen year old stepson was visiting his father, Yates,

husband for the summer in Florida. The affidavit further reveals
that the alleged sexual encounter occurred after Yates and the
teen spent time together relaxing, playing video games and watching movies.
The situation reportedly took a dark turn when Yates allegedly
began making sexually suggestive comments to the teen, referencing her

own corniness. This alleged behavior reportedly spanned approximately a week
leading up to the alleged physical encounters. The affidavit recounts
an instance where the teen recalled Yates saying quote, ah, man,
I wish you were eighteen, because you're not old enough
end quote during an alleged sexual encounter on the living

room couch. The alleged affair explosively came to light when
the step son's dad came home unexpectedly from work and
found Yates and his teen son allegedly stark naked on
the living room couch. Beyond the alleged sexual encounters, the
document details weeks of Yates allegedly attempting to seduce the

teen with suggestive jim talk, including a bizarre comment about
him being her quote unquote little boy toy. She also
asked the fifteen year old to rate her sexual performance,
to which he replied quote seven out of ten end quote.
The affidavit. Red investigators state that when confronted, Yates reportedly

admitted to quote unquote messing up, but attempted to dismiss
the alleged affair as a singular lapse in judgment despite
the incriminating circumstances. Yates, who was charged with felony lude
or lascivious battery with a victim age twelve to sixteen,
has pleaded not guilty. Yates was released on a ten
thousand dollars bond, and finally, Alabama witnessed some truly wild

scenes when a rogue kangaroo caused a two car collision
on Interstate eighty five. Forget about road rage, this was
