Speaker 1 (00:00):
Crime Alert hourly update, breaking crime news Now. I'm Jennifer Gould.
Exactly one year after her pulverized body missing a foot,
was found at the base of a Chicago high rise stairwell,
prominent tax attorney Adam Beckernk has been charged with first
degree murder for allegedly throwing his estranged wife twenty four

(00:23):
floors to her death. The criminal complaint, which took three
hundred and sixty five days to finalize, accuses the disgraced
forty seven year old former partner at Dwayne Morris LLP
of murdering thirty six year old Caitlin Tracy. On October
twenty fifth, twenty twenty four, the Cook County Medical Examiner

(00:45):
ruled her death multiple blunt force injuries from the horrifying
two hundred foot fall, a grizzly discovery confirmed by the
initial report detailing her mangled body found by a resident
who first spotted that severed foot. This fatal plunge climax

(01:05):
a short marriage poisoned by relentless abuse. Caitlin's mom, doctor
Monica Tracy, addressed Adam at a previous court appearance, no
matter how much we tried to save her from this abuse.
She was caught in his cycle of violence and coercive control.
He is a monster. Tracy had previously secured an order

(01:29):
of protection against Beckrink after filing multiple domestic battery reports,
only to retract it under the pressure of his threats
of a defamation lawsuit. According to court filings from her family,
Beckrink's initial reaction to her disappearance was a calculated deception.
He filed a frantic missing person's report, claiming he hadn't

(01:52):
seen Tracy for a month. However, surveillance footage from his
prairie building shredded his alibi, showing the couple together just
hours before her death, leading police to quickly detain him.
The depravity continued post mortem, as Beckrink engaged in a
two week macob legal battle with Tracy's parents for custody

(02:16):
of her remains. He defiantly filed an affidavit asserting his
legal right to control her funeral, but judges in both
Illinois and Michigan ultimately sided with the grieving parents, granting
them authority over the daughter he had physically and emotionally tormented.
Instead of meeting our daughter for dinner, my husband and

(02:40):
I visit her grave. Tracy's estate later moved to block
him from any inheritance and protect her burial site. The
murder warrant was served precisely as Beckrink was in custody.
Just one week before the murder charge. He had been
sentenced in Michigan to ninety three days in Baryon County
jail and two years probation after pleading no contest to

(03:03):
misdemeanor domestic violence, contempt of court, and felony interference with
a nine to one one call involving Tracy. Beckrink, who
was also indicted on attempted strangulation charges, was immediately ordered
to undergo psychological, substance abuse and threat evaluations as Chicago
authorities prepare for his extradition to face the first degree

(03:27):
murder charge. More Prime and Justice news after this. Texas
mom of three is now facing multiple felony charges after
police say she allegedly drugged her kids and trying to
drown them in a pond at the family's opulent Liberty

(03:49):
County home. The horror unfolded in the early morning hours
when the children's dad, Domingo Quintana, placed a frantic nine
one one call listening his wife poisoned his children with
Nike will and attempted to durrown them in a late
plice arrived at the three million dollar home to find
the three children, aged six, eleven, and fifteen, wet but

(04:13):
safely out of the water, rescued by their father. Jessica Kintana,
thirty nine, however, was still in the pond, where she
was pulled out by a sheriff's deputy in critical condition.
All four family members were rushed to the hospital. After
surviving her own medical emergency, Kintana's condition changed from critical
to good, and she was immediately arrested upon discharge from

(04:37):
the hospital. She's been charged with two counts of injury
to a child causing bodily injury and one count of
aggravated assault causing bodily injury. The father was also briefly
arrested for animal cruelty, while he was released on a
five thousand dollars bond. A child custody hearing determined the
children spoke positively of their mom but negative of their dad,

(05:01):
leading to him being barred from seeing the victims. The
children have since been placed with their maternal grandparents. Jessica
Kintana was transferred to the Liberty County Jail. Detectives are
still trying to figure out the motive for the attack,
but say she's being uncooperative. Authorities also still have not
yet confirmed that the kids had Nike will or any

(05:22):
other substance in their systems, as the investigation awaits critical
toxicology reports to come back and finally talk about a
snack attack. A Florida mom served up an explosive threat
to a high school all over a missed meal ticket.
Brandy Covington, forty, allegedly detonated on a cafeteria worker at

(05:45):
rock Ledge High School her beef her daughter's boyfriend had
his school supplied lunch snatched because his account was bone dry.
Instead of resolving the dead, Covington reportedly went full nuclear,
screaming she was going to quote blow that effing school
up end quote before slamming down the phone. Police, of course,
were not amused by the threat of cafeteria carnage. They

(06:08):
quickly charged the irate mom with the felony of threatening
to discharge a destructive device. Covington was later released on
a seventy five thousand dollars bond, claiming she was just
pissed but denying the threats. Now, it looks like this
angry drama may soon have her starving for freedom. For
