Crime Alart hourly update breaking crime news Now, I'm Nicole Parton.
A teacher from Mobile, Alabama, has been arrested following the
emergence of a disturbing video showing her physically abusing her child.
Randy Nicole Staples, a forty four year old second grade
teacher at Cottage Hill Christian Academy, was taken into custody

(00:20):
after a clip surfaced on Facebook showing what is alleged
to be twenty two blows in a span of fourteen seconds.
The video, recorded by a family member inside a residence,
reportedly features the woman hitting her twelve year old son
with a belt or a strap and subsequently lifting him
by his hair while shouting obscenities. The Mobile County Sheriff's

(00:44):
office has confirmed that Staples is the child's mother. The
video was quickly removed from the platform after being posted,
warning this audio is very disturbing to hear.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
Now, she wouldn't make it everybody, because you're.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
Supposed to do understanding. You know what.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
Everybody else say, place works house.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
In May, Staples was recognized as the Teacher of the
Year by Cottage Hill Christian Academy. Mobile County Sheriff Paul
Birch commented on the situation, saying, it's almost like a
dual personality. By all accounts, she is regarded as a
good teacher and well respected, yet what occurs at home
is clearly the opposite. In response to the incident, Cottage

(02:02):
Hill Christian Academy released a statement indicating that after law
enforcement's investigation revealed Staple's inappropriate conduct unrelated to her teaching duties,
she was arrested and subsequently terminated from her position in
line with the school's policy. The school has pledged to
work with the Department of Human Services and the Mobile

(02:22):
County Sheriff's Office and the Mobile County District Attorney's Office
as the inquiry proceeds. Staples was booked into the Mobile
Metro Jail and faces charges that include felony wilful abuse
of a child under the age of eighteen. Sheriff Birch
condemned Staple's behavior in the footage, describing it as repulsive.
He stated, while parents have the right to discipline their

(02:45):
children as they see fit, this crossed the line into abuse.
It was disturbing to witness someone repeatedly strike their child
then pull them by the hair of the head while
yelling and cursing. There was never any doubt that she
would be arrested. More crime and Justice news after this,

a father from Florida is accused of confronting a man
who allegedly sold a thchc vape cartridge to his fifteen
year old daughter. Armed with a handgun, he organized a
fake meeting to express his anger and issued threats. According
to police reports, Alan Olsen, forty, has been charged with
aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after the reported dealer

(03:29):
claimed he felt in fear for his life during an
encounter at the Circle Kay gas station in Vlusha County,
where Olsen reportedly threatened to kill him. The alleged dealer
was so frightened by Olsen that he didn't realize he
ran a red light while escaping the circle k, resulting
in a collision with another car. As stated by law enforcement,

(03:50):
The affidavit notes that Olsen called out to him and
mocked him about the wreck, standing with his hands on
his sides and laughing. The dealer informed police that he
believed Olson was still armed during the confrontation. In the affidavit,
it is detailed that the dealer shouted to Olson that
he had contacted the police and then sought cover. Olson

(04:12):
returned home from visiting family that day. Upon arriving, he
noticed his daughter behaving unusually. She requested money to buy
ice from the circle k and went to the gas station.
When she came back, Her odd behavior prompted her father
to question her, leading to the revelation that she had
lied about purchasing a THHC cartridge. He then looked on

(04:33):
her phone and discovered her messages with the alleged dealer. Allegedly,
Olson texted the dealer from his own phone to arrange
a meeting to buy THHC. They agreed to meet at
the circle K, where Olson drove in his Chevy Colorado
to confront the man. The dealer noticed Olson's truck parked
suspiciously behind him and approached it. As he neared the

(04:54):
driver's side, Olsen admitted that he was there to buy
a THHC cartridge and began at asking if the dealer
knew his daughter. The dealer confirmed he did, at which
point he saw Olson holding a silver and black semi
automatic handgun. Olsen reportedly demanded that the dealer drive home
with him to speak to his parents and threaten to
kill him if he refused. Terrified, the dealer quickly retreated

(05:18):
to his own car and fled the scene, causing an accident.
Witnessing the crash, Olsen reportedly went home and experienced a
panic attack, needing his wife to help calm him down.
He stated in the affidavit that he felt bad for
what had happened. His wife told police that they discussed
not needing to involve law enforcement since Olson wasn't directly

(05:39):
involved in the crash. Soon after, their daughter received a
message from the dealer saying her father was going to
jail for a very long time. After learning about the message,
Olson and his wife decided to head to the circle
K and call police. Sheriff Michael Chitwood commented on the situation, saying,
the best course of action would have been to call

(05:59):
us far then you wouldn't be facing charges for brandishing
a firearm and making threats. He acknowledged the father's anger,
but emphasized that such actions only lead to further trouble.
A barber who witnessed the incident remarked, when the cops arrived,
they came from all directions, and I knew something big
was up. The sheriff said, if this happens, remember don't

(06:21):
take the law into your own hands, even though you
feel like it. Sometimes. For the latest crime injustice news,
