Crime Alart hourly update breaking crime news Now. I'm Nicole Parton.
A man from Nevada is facing murder charges following a
violent altercation with his parents, which reportedly ended with him
pleading to law enforcement to either take him in or
kill him on site. Adrian Bailey, twenty seven, has been
charged with two counts of open murder and connection with

(00:22):
the death of his parents, Roger and Christine Bailey, at
their Las Vegas residence on December twenty seven. All right, sir,
I didn't review your case, and I did quite a
probable cause for your arrest. All right. What I'm going
to do is send your case directly to your department.
They will address your bill when you get there. Understood, sir.
According to an arrest report obtained by KLAS, Adrian Bailey

(00:45):
contacted nine one one around eleven thirty pm expressing a
need to be arrested for murder. He allegedly claimed he
had killed his parents, stating that he could no longer
endure the situation. When police arrived at the location provided
by this dispatch, they found Adrian was not there. He
subsequently made a second call to nine one one from

(01:05):
a different spot where he urged dispatchers to quote kill
him on site, declaring himself a threat to both himself
and others. The report notes that he was in a
hysterical state and admitted to consuming alcohol. During the call.
He mentioned that he had killed his father, insisting that
he did not intend to do so, but had reached

(01:25):
his breaking point due to ongoing abuse. Officers located adrianne
around eleven forty five pm and took him into custody,
noting that he had blood on his skin and clothes
at the time of his arrest. He requested legal representation
during his police interview. Roger Bailey was pronounced dead at
the scene, while Christine Bailey was taken to a hospital,

(01:47):
where she later died from her injuries. Both victims sustained
blunt forced trauma and were discovered in the living room
of the home. The arrest report also mentioned that a
child sized baseball bat was found at the toime top
of the staircase, accompanied by blood spatter on the walls.
A neighbor familiar with the Bailey family reported to KLAS

(02:08):
that Roger and Christine had been dealing with quote issues
related to their son. Adrian Bailey is charged with two
counts of open murder with a deadly weapon. During a
court hearing on Monday, a judge ordered him to remain
at the Clark County Detention Center without bail, with another
court date set for Wednesday. More crime and justice news

after this. Will Smith has been accused of sexual harassment
by Brian King Joseph in a lawsuit filed in Los
Angeles just before the year ended this As reported by
Fox News Digital, Joseph, a professional violinist, claims that Smith

(02:48):
engaged in behavior aimed at quote deliberately grooming and priming
mister Jones for further sexual exploitation in his legal action
against the Academy Award winning actor and his company, Triball
Studios Management. Following a performance alongside Smith in December twenty
twenty four, the Gettin Jiggy with It artist allegedly invited

(03:11):
Joseph to join his Based on a True Story twenty
twenty five tour. Joseph asserts that their relationship grew even
closer after being given the opportunity to contribute to several
tracks on Smith's upcoming album. According to the lawsuits, Smith
and the plaineiff begin spending additional time together alone with
Smith even expressing to the planiff that you and I

(03:34):
have such a special connection that I don't have with
anyone else, along with similar sentiments that indicated his closeness
to the plaintiff. Joseph supposedly participated in his first leg
of the tour in March twenty five in Las Vegas,
where Smith and his team arranged a hotel room for him.
He alleged that no other individuals besides the crew and

(03:54):
hotel staff would have had access to his personal accommodations.
The violinists who appeared on America's Got Talent in twenty eighteen,
claimed he placed his room key in his bag, which
was left in a van designated for transporting the cast
and crew. After a rehearsal, management allegedly took hours to
find the bag. Upon returning to his hotel room later

(04:16):
that night, Joseph reported finding evidence suggesting that an unknown
person had unlawfully entered his room. He promptly alerted hotel security.
The evidence included a handwritten note addressed to the plane
if by name, which went Brian, I'll be back no
later five point thirty just us and a hearts stone
f The lawsuit detailed Among the other items were wipes,

(04:39):
a beer bottle, a red backpack, a bottle of HIV
medication with another individual's name, and earring hospital discharge documents
belonging to someone unknown to the planet. Joseph expressed concern
that an unidentified person might return to his hotel room
for sexual purposes, so he immediately notified at hotel security
and representatives for or the defendant, gathered photograph evidence, and

(05:03):
requested a room change. Contacted the local non emergency police line.
A few days later, Joseph claims that Smith's team began
shifting the blame onto him regarding the situation. Instead of
being safeguarded against further assault and having his concerns address,
The plaintiff was shamed by Smith, according to him, and

(05:23):
informed that he would be terminated from his position. When
plaintiff sought further clarification, Tim Miller, representing the defendants, deflected
the blame onto the plainiff, saying, I don't know you
tell me because everyone is telling me that what happened
is a lie. Nothing happened. Right following Miller's request, Joseph
created a timeline to outline the traumatic events that followed. However,

(05:47):
after the plaintiff's report and subsequent termination. The defendant employed
another violinist to take over that same role on the tour.
This hiring strongly suggested that the reason given for the
plainiff's termination was merely a facade. The evidence indicates that
the defendant will Carol Smith the second was intentionally grooming
and preparing mister Joseph for further sexual exploitation. The timeline

(06:11):
of events, Will Smith's previous remarks to the plaineiff, and
the circumstances surrounding the hotel intrusion all suggest a pattern
of predatory behavior. The lawsuit states the defendant's actions inflicted
severe emotional distress, financial loss, reputational damage, and other harm
to the plainiff. The stress from losing his job led

(06:32):
to a deterioration in his health, resulting in significant psychological damage.
According to the lawsuit. Smith's attorney has denied the allegations
in a statement provided to Fox News Digital. For the

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
