A Connecticut mother is jailed on one million dollars bond
after police says she poisoned her estranged husband's wine with
any freeze during a bitter custody fight. Kristin Hogan, aged
thirty three, was arrested in Ridgefield on Friday and charged
with two counts of attempted murder and one count of
interfering with an officer. Police say she mixed annie freeze

into her husband's red wine and a bottle of iced tea,
thereby causing ethleen glycol poisoning. Their child later showed similar
symptoms of poisoning.

Our neighbors had us all over and we had a
great day hanging out with them and the kids running
around and stuff. And to hear this is just mind blowing.

Court records show the husband drank the wine August tenth.
He woke up that night vomiting, slurring his words and staggering.
His mother rushed over and took him to the hospital,
where doctors at first thought he was having a stroke.
They found his condition was actually caused by ethleene glycol.
He was placed on dialysis and admitted intensive care. The
victim told police Hogan likely poisoned him for payback and

to gain full ownership of the home and custody of
their child. Investigators later found that her phone contained searches
such as how much monoethylene glycl would kill you and
other toxic chemicals. When question, Hogan first denied any wrongdoing,
but later admitted she had poured the chemical into the wine.
She told police she quote never intended to kill him,
but just wanted to make him sick as payback for

him being mentally abusive. Her defense lawyer, Mark Sherman said, quote,
these are just accusations and we will be diligently investigating
and defending Kristin against these claims. Police say the poison
wine did test positive for ethylene glycol and the investigation
is ongoing. Hogan remains in custody ahead of her next

is killed by the family pitbull, a dog that had
attacked before, but warnings went ignored. Blake Bates, aged twenty eight,
pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter III, more than a year
after his son, Royal Wayne Jackson Bates, was mauled to
death inside their Maryan home. Prosecutor said bates dog, a

pit bull mix named Kelo, had a record of aggression
and had tried to bite a neighborhood child months before
the fatal attack. On April twenty eighth of twenty twenty four,
Bates and his partner Alissa Smith left Royal near the
dog with only a young child nearby. When they returned,
the infant had been mauled. Prosecutor Ray Grogan told People
magazine quote, the dog essentially crushed the child's skull, and

The baby was rushed to marry In General Hospital was
pronounced dead there. Police body camera footage showed Bates sobbing
as first responders tried to say the boy. Kilo was
seized and euthanized the next day. Grogan stated, quote, this
guilty plea holds Baits accountable for a preventable horror that

stole an innocent baby's life. Bates knew his pitbull was dangerous,
yet he gambled with this baby's safety, recklessness that demands
severe consequences. Smith has pleaded guilty to child endangerment and
is awaiting sentencing. Bates faces up to three years in prison.
He will also be sentenced for prior crimes, including felony,
strangulation and an escape attempt. Grogan said the case shows

and burning. The State Department has offered a one million
dollar reward for information leading to Destina's capture. In an
interview with the BBC, Destinas said, the government doesn't create
any jobs. It's a country with no economic activity whatsoever.
