Speaker 1 (00:00):
Crime Alart hourly update, breaking crime news Now. I'm Jennifer Gould,
a swell trained California afternoon became a scene of unimaginable
horror when a one year old tragically dies of heat
stroke left to bake and a scorching hot car for
nearly two agonizing hours while his mother got a lip

(00:21):
filler procedure at a Bakersfield medspot. Emilio Gutierrez's tiny body
temperature sword to a lethal one hundred and seven degrees fahrenheit,
according to court documents. The toddler's two year old brother,
also trapped in the vehicle, miraculously survived and is now
in child protective Services. The boy's grandmother, Katie Martinez, spoke

(00:43):
to ABC thirty. She just stood there with her lips done.
That's what she gave their light his life for was
to have that go look on her. Police reports paint
a devastating picture of alleged negligence, with outside temperatures hitting
a brutal one hundred and one degree fahrenheit. Maya Hernandez
twenty parked her twenty twenty two Toyota Corolla hybrid facing west,

(01:08):
directly in the path of the relentless setting sun. She
initially claimed she left the air conditioning blasting at sixty
degrees fahrenheit. However, investigators quickly discovered the vehicle's automatic shut
off feature killed the engine after a mere hour, transforming
the car's interior into a stifling oven, reaching an unbearable

(01:31):
one hundred and forty three degrees fahrenheit. Even more damning,
Hernandez had reportedly message SPA staff beforehand asking if she
could bring her children, and was explicitly told they could
wait in the air conditioned waiting room, yet she chose
to ignore this advice. Upon arrival, she never mentioned their presence,

(01:53):
leaving both boys dangerously strapped into their car seats while
she went inside for her fifteen to twenty minute cosmetic treatment.
During her nearly two and a half hour absence, she
reportedly never once checked on her children. The horror unfolded
when frantic SPA workers and bystanders finally spotted the kids.

(02:14):
Surveillance footage captured desperate attempts to save them, with staff
dounsing the boys with water. One compassionate customer rushed the
two year old into a restroom to cool him down,
but Amelio tragically was unresponsive when police arrived at four
forty five pm. He was pronounced dead at Adventists Health
by five forty eight pm. Hernandez now faces charges of

(02:39):
involuntary manslaughter and child cruelty. The boy's father, currently incarcerated
on unrelated charges, learned of his son's death from a
jail chaplain. Hernandez remains in custody on more than one
million dollars bond. She is set to appear in court
on July fourteenth. More crime and justice news. After this,

(03:03):
a patriotic celebration meant for fireworks and fine wine turned
into an unspeakable tragedy for a newly engaged Houston couple
found dead in the wine cellar of their two point
four million dollar River Oaks mansion. What was supposed to
be a night of festive revelry ended in a suffocating nightmare.

(03:24):
As authorities say, Deborah Putsa Sushi and Kevin willi Is
sixty eight, lost their lives in a freak accident while
preparing for their holiday bash. Lieutenant Larry Croson with the
Houston Police Department spoke to the media.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
So what we learned is there was dry ice being
stored in the wine cellar. When dry ice melts turns
into carbon dioxide, which squeezes out the oxygen, so it
appears that they suffocated from lack of oxygen in the
wine cellar.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
The grim discovery unfolded around seven pm on July fourth,
when worried neighbors in the Tony Avalon Place neighborhood dialed
nine unconcerned after the couple, known for their elaborate parties
and love of fine wine, didn't respond, Houston firefighters, immediately
detecting a potent chemical odor upon arrival, donned respirators to

(04:13):
enter the couple's mansion. Inside, they found Tucci and Willis
lifeless in their prized wine cellar. Ducci, a prominent lawyer
and accountant, and Willis, both passionate wine connoisseurs and avid
wine collectors in their sixties, were reportedly selecting bottles from
their extensive Bordeaux collection when the silent killer struck. The couple,

(04:34):
who had just gotten engaged in March, were fixtures in
the city's elite social scene. They often shared photos from
their extensive vineyard tours across France and Italy, showcasing their
deep love for fine wines. Their sprawling four thousand square
foot mansion boasted a cellar that was both their pride
and joy and ultimately their tomb. Investigators found that dry

(04:57):
ice commonly used to chill wine cellars, had been stored
in four or five gallon buckets and in the confined space.
This created a lethal gas leak as the solid carbon
dioxide vaporized. Houston police continue their investigation, but no foul
play is suspected, and finally talk about bad reception. A

(05:19):
twenty seven year old Florida man is facing murder charges
after allegedly gunning down his own uncle in a dispute
over a broken TV. O'Neil Robert Matthew Thompson was busted
after the shocking incident. According to cops, Thompson's grandmother called
nine one one screaming her grandson had just shot her

(05:40):
son and then made a run for it. Thompson was
quickly fast forwarded though into custody nearby, immediately claiming self defense.
He swore his uncle, Thaddeus Williamson, was quote unquote attacking
him over the busted TV set, but grandma's testimony threw
a wrench into his storytelling cops, Thompson was already fuming
when he arrived and picked a fight. Je even tried

(06:01):
to mute the argument separating them before hearing gunshots and
seeing Thompson with the firearm over his fallen uncle. Thompson
was found with that nine millimeter is now booked without bond.
This proves that the drama you see on the small
screen does not even compare to real life consequences. For
