University of Georgia football players facing serious charges after a
high speed chase in Commerce on Sunday. Police say had
all started with a routine traffic stop downtown. An officer
had pulled over a driver for running a stop sign,
later identified as the suspect's mother. When another car flew

(00:24):
past it more than one hundred miles per hour in
a twenty five mile zone, the officer abandoned the first
stop and pursued the speeding vehicle, driven by twenty year
old Naiir Daniels. The chase wound through several roads North
Broad Street, Olds Maysville Road, and King Road Woolford Drive
before the driver had toured Interstate eighty five. As the

(00:47):
pursuit intensified, police say Daniel's mother tried to block a
supervisor's path, also speeding at over one hundred miles per hour.
Now both son and mother were evading police. Eventually, officers
lost sight of Daniels near mile mark or one p
forty four and called off the chase for safety reasons.
Moments later, they stopped the mother and charged her with

(01:09):
multiple offenses, including obstruction fleeing and reckless driving. Daniels later
turned himself in at the Commerce Police Department, accompanied by
a UGA coach. He now faces a long list of
charges felony, fleeing, reckless driving, speeding, driving on the wrong
side of the road, and even two counts of cruelty
to children. Police say no injuries were reported following his arrest.

(01:32):
Dog's Headquarters reported that he is no longer with the
team or Crime and Justice News after this and in Denver,
a family has experienced a chilling ordeal when they discovered
an intruder inside their home. The unsettling incident occurred around

(01:54):
three point thirty am at the Root family's residence in
northern Denver. For Keaven and Sarah Rude, this was their
first encounter with such a frightening situation and they sincerely
hope it's their last. While they were asleep upstairs, the
couple was roused by an unfamiliar noise. Initially, they suspected
it might have been one of their four children, but

(02:17):
as the sounds persisted, their anxiety heightened. Kevin said he
heard footsteps approaching the stairs near their bedroom. We had
our doors slightly cracked and I saw the shadow go by,
and that just is a sinking feeling, Sarah said. She
caught a glimpse of a shadow passing by. She had
a gut wrenching fear. At that moment, a man stood

(02:40):
on the staircase beside their bedroom door, having managed to
break the lock on their front entrance. When I heard
him ascend the stairs, I shouted, who is it? Said Kevin.
No one replied. The intruder remained silent, continuing his ascent
up the steps, and panic set in as Kevin feared
the man might be armed with a weapon from the kitchen,

(03:02):
as there were knives on the counter. The intruder was
now moving toward the room where their children were sleeping.
For a mother, this is the ultimate nightmare. It's pure terror,
Sarah explained. Then comes the point when I realized I'm
the husband and the father, said Kevin, this was my
time to do something. While his wife dialed nine to

(03:23):
one one from their bedroom, Kevin decided to take a
decisive action, just one of those like this is my moment.
So I jumped out of the bedroom and I pushed
him down the stairs. The man fell all the way
down the stairs, causing some pictures to fall off the
walls and leaving a dent in the molding. Kevin filmed
the scene as police arrived moments later to find the

(03:44):
intruder lying on the floor. The man complied peacefully with
law enforcement and was arrested. He had stolen a piece
of fall decorations from the front porch. They also discovered
their freezer had been opened, but to Kevin in surprise,
the intruder left the chicken nuggets. We did find the
freezer was open. He didn't. He left the chicken nuggets alone.

(04:07):
He left the waffles alone. Despite the terrifying experience, the
family felt relief that the situation wasn't worse their children
were safe. Kevin says he's now installed an extra lock
on the front door. His wife says she's a little
uneasy and her children are staying in the room with
them for a while. An update from breaking news earlier,

(04:27):
Morgan Geyser, one of the perpetrators of the twenty fourteen
slender Man inspired stabbing, has been arrested after escaping from
a group home. The Madison Police Department reports that the
twenty two year old Geyser has been taken into custody
in Illinois after she went missing from her facility in Wisconsin.

(04:48):
According to a previous statement by the MPD shared on Facebook,
Geyser removed her ankle bracelet from the Department of Corrections
and fled the group home. She was last spotted around
eight pm local time on Saturday in the vicinity of
Kronk Drive with an adult acquaintance. Geyser had been placed
in a group home by the Wisconsin Department of Health

(05:09):
Services in January as part of her court ordered release
from a psychiatric care facility where she had been treated
following the twenty fourteen incident. At the age of just twelve,
Guyser and her accomplice, Anissa Ware, lured their classmate into
the woods under the pretense of playing hide and seek
during a sleepover in their suburban Milwaukee neighborhood. Guyser then

(05:32):
stabbed the girl nineteen times while we or her friend
encouraged her and cheered her on. Remarkably, the girl survived
the attack, managing to crawl to a nearby bike path,
where she was rescued by someone passing by. For the
