Crime Alart hourly update, breaking crime news Now. I'm Nicole
parton a tragic story out of Las Vegas. A father
is accused of being under the influence of marijuana when
he struck and killed a twelve year old boy walking
to school. Police say twenty seven year old Ryan O'brooks
was allegedly stoned while getting his children ready for school.

After dropping them off, he reportedly smoked more THHC in
his car, then drove away, ultimately hitting a young student
who was crossing the street in a marked school zone.
According to the arrest report, Brooks confessed to smoking his
THCHC vappin while getting his kids ready for school. He

then continued to smoke after he dropped them off. Just
moments before the crash. The victim, Christopher Suarez, had just
stepped off the curb and was walking in a clearly
marked crosswalk near Eastern Avenue in Owen's Avenue. The crash
happened around seven forty eight. Surveillance video allegedly shows Brooks

speeding down Owens before slamming into the child, sending him
flying into a wrought iron fence. Christopher was rushed to
the hospital in critical condition. Sadly, he later died from
his injuries. Brooks claimed the sun was in his eyes
and said he had no idea what he hit, but
police say he fled the scene in his Mitsubishi SUV,

then smoked even more marijuana because quote he knew he
was going to jail. He was arrested around nine thirty
am and given a sobriety test, which he allegedly failed.
Investigators tracked him down using his license plate number. Security
footage from the nearby apartment complex allegedly shows Brooks inspecting
the damage to the front of his SUV, but making

no attempt to call for help. Police gave a strong
warning to those driving in school zones.

The driver, however, decided to flee the scene. Our officers
arrived and quickly located the vehicle not too far from
the scene. The driver was taken into custody and at
this time impairment is suspected. I want everybody to understand
for the ILVMPD, these incidents are becoming all too often.
They're occurring way too often. We've taken it as a priority.

We're taking this type of critical incident as a priority,
and we've taken a zero tolerance approach to unsafe driving.
That means if you're speeding, if you're not paying attention,
if you're running red lights, you will be stopped. You
will be cited. If you flee from the scene of

an accident, a collision, we will find you. The technology
that's available to us now, the relentless follow up that
our officers are doing to locate people that are involved
in these type of incidents, we will find you. We
will hold you accountable.

Brooks now faces serious charges. He's being held on a
two hundred and fifty thousand dollars bond, and the community
is left mourning the loss of a young life taken

under arrest after allegedly using chat GPT to ask how
to kill a friend in the middle of class. According
to the Volusia Sheriff's Office, the alarming message was flagged
by Gaggle, a school safety platform that monitors student activity
on school issued devices. A school resource deputy at Southwestern

Middle School was alerted and immediately contacted authorities. Law enforcement
responded to the school, where the teen reportedly told officers
he was just quote trolling a friend who had annoyed him.
But the Sheriff's office isn't laughing. They call it quote
another joke that created an emergency on campus and urged

parents to talk to their kids about the consequences of
online behavior, even if it's meant as a prank. The
team's name has not been released and details about the
charges he may face are still pending. Police at Ohio
are asking for the public's help in locating a missing girl.
The Wadsworth Police say thirteen year old Isabelle has been

missing since Tuesday afternoon. Isabelle was last seen around four
thirty pm on October seven. She left her home on
foot near Mills Street and South Party in Wadsworth. This
according to police. Authorities say she was wearing a red
T shirt and black and white shorts at the time
of her disappearance. She has brown hair and brown eyes.

As of seven forty five am on Wednesday, police say
they were still actively searching for the team. They now
believe she could be wearing a camouflage jacket that is
missing from her home. Law enforcement officials are urging anyone
