Speaker 2 (00:03):
I'm Nicole Parton. Virginia Guffrey, who alleged that the late
sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and Prince Andrew had sexually abused her,
tragically took her own life. Her family has shared with
heavy hearts, we announced that Virginia passed away last night
at her farm in Western Australia. She succumbed to suicide
after enduring a lifetime of sexual abuse in trafficking. Her

(00:27):
family stated her children, Christian, Noah and Emily were the
brightest lights in her life. It was in the moment
she cradled her newborn daughter that Virginia felt compelled to
stand up against those who wronged her and countless others.
Here she is speaking with sixty minutes.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
I was a baby stuck in a world where grown
ups were allowed to do whatever they wanted, and I
was lost. Money should not be able to buy you
the power to get away with hurting people, and it's
not normal. I don't care how rich you are. You
have the privilege of being wealthy, great, fantastic, Do something

(01:05):
great about it, do something good with your money. I mean,
how evil do people have to be to just let
that happen. It took a lot of people involved. It
took doctors, psychiatrists, gynecologists, dentists. All these people knew what
was going on. Hairstylists, I mean, the list goes on.
I could keep going on and on and on, drivers, chauffeurs, butlers, housemaids.

(01:30):
It took all of these people turning a blind eye,
which they weren't blind to because we were right there,
blatantly in front of them. They knew exactly what was
going on. Everyone's turned a blind eye in the place
where I was supposed to be protected, in my country,
where I was supposed to be protected. The justice system
failed us. Then I believe they're going to do something
amazing for us now.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
In two thousand and nine, Guphrey reached a five hundred
thousand dollars settlement with Epstein. In a civil lawsuit, Guphrey
accused Epstein of track her to Prince Andrew, claiming that
the royal took advantage of her and sexually assaulted her
when she was a minor. Prince Andrew has consistently denied
these allegations, questioning Guphrey's credibility and intentions. In twenty twenty one,

(02:15):
Guphree filed a lawsuit against Prince Andrew, alleging that he
sexually abused her at Epstein's Manhattan residence and other locations
in two thousand and one when she was still under age.
In twenty twenty two, Prince Andrew agreed to settle the
lawsuit without admitting any wrongdoing. Additionally, Guphree filed a civil
lawsuit in twenty fifteen against Galen Maxwell, Epstein's former associate,

(02:38):
claiming she had played a role in facilitating the abuse
over a four year period starting in twenty nineteen. Numerous
court documents from that case were made public the day
after the first batch of documents were unsealed by a
federal appeals court. In twenty nineteen, Epstein was found dead
in his jail cell in Manhattan, where he was awaiting

(03:00):
trial on charges of sex trafficking and conspiracy. The New
York Medical Examiner ruled his death a suicide, a conclusion
supported by a Justice Department Inspector General report. Maxwell was
convicted in twenty twenty one of five charges related to
abuse and trafficking of underage girls, and was sentenced to
twenty years in prison. Guphrey did not testify during Maxwell's trial,

(03:23):
and Maxwell has continually denied any wrongdoing. Earlier this month,
Maxwell appealed her conviction to a Supreme Court, though the
court has yet to respond or Prime in Justice news
after this. A tragic incident in Florida has led to

(03:44):
the untimely death of a ten year old boy, Lewis Johnson.
His parents alleged he took his own life after experiencing
bullying from his teacher. This claim is at the center
of a lawsuit filed against the Marion County School Board
nearly two years after the boy's passing. The wrongful death
suit accuses a fifth grade teacher, Don White, of not

(04:06):
only bullying Johnson, a student at Legacy Elementary School, but
also encouraging other students to join in in the harassment.
The lawsuit details instances where White allegedly demeaned the boy
by calling him quote stupid and questioning his knowledge in
front of the class, saying things like, I don't know
why you're talking because you don't even know anything. You

(04:29):
don't know nothing in this class. Isn't that right?

Speaker 3 (04:32):
Kids?

Speaker 2 (04:33):
An investigative report highlighted that White had a pattern of
causing psychological harm to multiple students through verbal abuse, humiliation,
and insults. Despite the parent's efforts to alert both the
school board and the administration about the teacher's behavior, they
assert that no actions were taken to address the issue.
As a result of the school board's alleged negligence, the

(04:55):
parents believe that White's actions led Johnson to develop severe
de depression and anxiety, ultimately causing him to take his
own life. In the wake of their loss, they distributed
suicide prevention flyers at the school outlining the claims against White.
In a twenty twenty three investigation into White's conduct, over
two dozen students were interviewed, including twelve who were present

(05:18):
in Johnson's classroom. These students reported that the teacher would
become angry when students answered questions incorrectly, often instilling fear
and causing distress, with some even brought to tears. They
also noted that she would publicly comment on students' grades.
Following the investigation, the school board chose not to renew
White's contract. While the lawsuit refers to the teacher as

(05:41):
Donna White, other records and resources confirm her name to
be don White. If you or someone you know is
facing mental health challenges or feeling depressed. Please reach out
to a qualified counselor by texting or calling nine eight eight.
That phone line is available twenty four hours a day.
In his completely confidential.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
How could a beautiful young first grade teacher be stabbed
twenty times, including in the back, allegedly die of suicide? Yes,
that was a medical examiner's official ruling after a closed
door meeting. He first named it a homicide. Why what
Happened to Ellen Greenberg? A huge American miscarriage of justice.
