A twenty six year old woman was instantly engulfed in
a blinding inferno when a male passenger allegedly dowsed her
with a flammable liquid gasoline during an argument and set
her on fire aboard a CTA Blue Line train in Chicago.

The savage calculated assault instantly transformed the subway car into
a scene of unspeakable horror, leaving the victim fighting for
her life in a specialized burn unit. The incident erupted
at approximately nine to twenty five PM as the train
pulled into the Clark Lake Station, one of the city's

major transfer hubs. Chicago police reports detail a verbal dispute
between the victim and a forty five year old man,
a confrontation that instantly metastasized into an attempted murder. Sources
confron the man allegedly produced the fuel, poured it over
the woman's clothing, and introduced a flame, instantly engulfing the

victim in a raging blaze. As the man fled the scene,
the victim stumbled out onto the platform. Witness Christopher Flores,
spoke to CBS to Chicago, and I go running over
to see what's going on. She's already out on the ground,
just crying, burnt to a Chris, all right, and what
did you do? The help? If anything? What could you do?
Either was none. I couldn't do. A Fire department personnel

arrived swiftly, extinguishing the flames. The woman suffered devastating, life
threatening injuries and was rushed to Stroger Hospital of Cook
County in critical condition. Police sources confirmed she sustained severe
burns over more than half of her body, and video
footage showed a woman with significant burns on her head

amid the panic. Video of the incident reviewed by CBS
Chicago showed that no bystanders immediately came to the woman's
aid as she exited the train. Instead, they ran from her.
Police confirmed a forty five year old person of interest
was taken into custody. Formal charges of aggravated battery and

attempted murder are pending as detectives process surveillance video. Police
sources indicated the man in custody may also be linked
to a separate fire outside Chicago's City Hall last week.
This calculated savagery is the second major attack on the
Blue Line in as many weeks. Just days prior, a

twenty seven year old woman was stabbed in the chest
in an unprovoked assault at the UIC Halsted platform. The
Chicago whares echo the August murder of twenty three year
old Ukrainian refugee Irina Zarutska, who was knife to death
on a Charlotte light rail by a man who was

later indicted federally on charges including violence against a mass
transit system resulting in death. The Chicago Transit Authority released
a statement confirming their full cooperation with the Chicago Police Department,

Listen Rogers attempting to hide fell right through the ceiling,
landing literally at the feet of the waiting officers. He
was immediately cuffed and charged with grand theft auto and
