Speaker 1 (00:00):
Crime Stories with Nancy Grace. What did he do?
Speaker 2 (00:09):
A mystery witness ghosts the prosecution? Will they find her
before the end of the state's case? This as did
he blames the stylist. Look what y'all made me do
after an incredibly vicious beating. I'm Nancy Grace. This is
Crime Stories. I want to thank you for being with us.
(00:39):
Wait are you telling me that Shawn Comes was in
London and through a fit because he didn't have the
right kind of catchup?
Speaker 3 (00:47):
Did he want request jello and apple sauce? Apparently he
put apple sauce on his cheeseburgers.
Speaker 4 (00:52):
He was particular about the temperature of the room.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
So I've got Shawn Combs whining that the catch up
in London is different. And now you're telling me that
he travels.
Speaker 4 (01:06):
With user mar Thank yous, right Brins, you hurd me right.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
Joining me at the courthouse right now. Investigative reporter Lauren
Conlin from Pop Crime TV, Lauren, thank you for being
with us. Who is Deontay Nash? Can you summarize his
testimony so far?
Speaker 1 (01:24):
Sure?
Speaker 5 (01:24):
So?
Speaker 3 (01:25):
Deontay Nash, the celebrity stylist and Cassie's very close friend
finished his cross examination this morning, which was done by
Xavier Donaldson, and Xavier Donaldson did point something out. He
pointed out some inconsistencies in his testimony, specifically about the
eye gash that Cassie got at her apartment when Deontay
(01:45):
jumped on his back and Mia jumped on his back
Diddy's back to stop him from doing this. Deontay testified
that while Cassie was on the ground and she was
bleeding from her eye, did he continue to kick her
and beat her. However, Donaldson pointed out that in all
his previous meetings with the government this was never mentioned
(02:05):
and it was a big deal, so why did he
never mention it. Donaldson also pointed out some text messages
from Nash to Ditty saying I love you, and this
was well after twenty eighteen when he stopped working for
him as a stylist, that I love you brother. Another
text message said, you know, how do I get an
invite to your party? So you know, we're seeing a
(02:28):
lot of this during cross examination of many witnesses.
Speaker 6 (02:32):
They continued a relationship with.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
Ditty well after they stopped being employed, and they seem
to want this relationship as well. Again, Deontay Nash did
seem to elicit some laughter even from the judge this morning.
He was very sassy, you know. Donaldson would say how
are you today, sir, and he would say blessed, and
again he would kind of jump ahead in his testimony
(02:56):
in which the judge was like, Okay, you have to stop,
you have to stop. You can't, you can't. It's not
a free for all here. So he definitely offered a
little bit of lightness.
Speaker 6 (03:05):
Amid all of the darkness that we've been hearing.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
Lauren Colin, who is Maya.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
According to her, she is the victim of a violent
sex assault by Sean Combs. Could you give me a
summary of MIA's testimony.
Speaker 3 (03:20):
Mia was Ditty's former assistant and director of marketing at
Revolt TV. She was one of Cassie's closest friends, described
them as sisters and actually said they're still friends to
this day. And oh, we learned about why the jury
was asked about Mike Myers. Mia was a former personal
assistant to Mike Myers, and she described those hours being
(03:43):
from ten to six regularly. She said occasionally she would
get a call on the weekend from Mike Myers to
watch his dog or something like that. So when she
took the job as the personal assistant to Sean Colmes.
Speaker 6 (03:55):
It was a real shell shock.
Speaker 3 (03:56):
And these are my words, not hers, but she described
that her first day of work, she she didn't go
to sleep. She showed up in the morning. She was
sent to his new Jersey house to do some kind
of inventory. She got back to the Bad Boy office
around ten pm, and then she was told to go
to the studio to meet Ditty, and she describes not
going home until the next day after one pm, and
(04:21):
she shopped it up as being her first day kind
of being on trial. But then she described another instance
where she did not sleep for five days straight. She
described taking time released adderall to help her stay awake,
but at one point, she said, she just lost her equilibrium.
Her body kind of broke down. She ride uncontrollable tears,
(04:43):
and he finally sent her home to sleep.
Speaker 6 (04:46):
She also discussed that Cassie was and she Mia was.
Speaker 3 (04:51):
They were terrified of Ditty and punishment that they would
receive if they did not listen. She described it as
being terrifying and unpredictable. We also heard the story about
Cassie gashing her eye on the bed for the third time.
We previously heard it from Deontae Nash, Cassie Stylits and
best friend Cassie herself, and now Mia. And while each
(05:13):
story does change a bit, the main event is the same.
Did he threw Cassie against the bed and there was
a gash in her eye and she had to go
to a plastic surgeon. We've seen ditty b stoic at
some points with the assistance, he would nod his head.
Speaker 6 (05:32):
Yes, he would laugh a little bit.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
I've seen him shake his head like this no twice
when it came to Mia and her testimony, and one
of those times was when Mia mentioned a sexual assault.
Speaker 6 (05:45):
I specifically watched him shake his head.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
No.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
What was Maya's demeanor on the stand?
Speaker 3 (05:52):
MIA's demeanor on the stand, She had her head down,
she she was quiet, she spoke low, and she honestly
gives me this timid vibe. We're not supposed to go
into too much detail about Mia. We had a speech
from the judge because she is using a pseudonym, and
we were told that her testimony is no important than
(06:15):
any other testimony.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
Lauren Colin, I believe that MIA's testimony is critical in
its own right, but possibly more important, it corroborates or
bolsters everything Cassie Ventura described.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
The point is.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
Ventura was not in this willingly, especially toward the end.
I mean she even threatened to jump off a balcony.
She had to go back to a freak off. And
that's how I see Mia as corroborating everything Ventura said,
which shows sex trafficking.
Speaker 1 (06:52):
Lauren Colin joining us at the courthouse.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
Now joining Sidney Sumner Crime Stories investigative reporter. The hiding
at the Hotel Sidney Sumner. That came from Deontaey Nash,
the stylist, where he had observed a vicious, vicious beating
of Cassie. And he actually, and I think he got
(07:14):
his start with Seawan Comes. I'll circle back to that Sydney,
but he tried to protect Cassie Venture. He's afraid that
Comes is going to kill her. Tell us what happened Sidney, Well.
Speaker 7 (07:25):
Nancy, what we learned from Deontay Nash is that Colly's
burst into Cassie's la apartment and told her to get
out of his house. We don't know exactly what spurred
that argument, but Nash told us that Combs physically shoved
both of them out of that la apartment.
Speaker 6 (07:45):
But then a few minutes.
Speaker 7 (07:47):
Later, as they were driving away, Comb's called Cassie and
told them to pull over. Combs approached Cassie's window and
at that point he threatened to release her sex tapes. Responded, Hey,
that's a big threat because he's in them too, right,
so he can't use that against you. And that's when
Cassie first told Nash that no, Combs isn't in those
(08:11):
sex stapes, it's me and other men. So from there,
Nash was going to take Cassie back to his home,
but he gets a call from his boss who tells him, Hey,
Shaun Combs just asks for your address. I don't know why,
but I wanted to let you know. So he looks
at Cassie's tells her to get out of the car
and take a cab to the nearest hotel, so she
(08:34):
does that. Nash gets back to his house. Just a
few minutes later, Comb's, his chief of staff, and a
security guard show up at his house demands to know
where Cassie is. They search his home and when Nash's
phone rings, it has a caller ID from a nearby hotel,
so Combs quickly puts those pieces together and demands that
(08:57):
Nash go get Cassie from this hotel room. So Cassie
has stayed here before, Nash has stayed there with her.
They're familiar with the hotel staff, so Nash is able
to convince staff to let him and Comb's chief of
staff at the time, Tony Fletcher, go up to the room.
And when Cassie sees Tony Fletcher's face, he freaks out.
(09:18):
She's immediately terrified because she knows Cones has found her.
So Tony's like, hey, Conbes is downstairs. We need you
to come out and come meet him. He wants you
to come with him. And at that point is when
Cassie allegedly threatened to go over the balcony instead of
coming down to go see Combes.
Speaker 2 (09:36):
You know, doctor Bethany Marshall joining me renown psychoanalyst.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
Out of Beverly Hills.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
She is the author of deal Breaker, and you can
see her now on peacock. She's at doctor Bethany Marshall
dot com. Doctor Bethany, I just don't get all the
people that are saying, oh, Cassie Ventura is in it
for the money. Oh and by the way, just a
big fyi Cassie Venturira, he had his birth while Capricorn Clark,
(10:02):
who worked for Sean Combs, is on the stand basically
trashing her, saying she's a no talent user and I
don't know where that came from, you know, jealous. He's
a very ugly serpent. That's a whole another can of worms,
but doctor Bethany. According to Deontae Nash, as reported by
Lauren Collin, Cassie gets his injury on her forehead from
(10:24):
Diddy beating her so badly she fell on a bed.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
Frame and ripped her forehead open.
Speaker 2 (10:30):
He also described an incident where they had to hide
at a hotel. That's what Sidney's telling us about right now.
And Combs gets ninety five mph. It reminds me when
he jumped in the car. Let's go get sugar or
let's go kill Cuddy gets in the car ninety five.
NBA's driving around trying to find Cassie. He sees a
(10:51):
phone call come in on somebody else's phone, figures out
it's a hotel.
Speaker 1 (10:55):
And they go to the hotel somehow.
Speaker 2 (10:57):
Once again, he breaks the rules and finds out which
hotel room is hers and sends his hitch people to
go get her, and she would rather jump off the
balcony than go back to comes. Yet, people like Philip
Dubay joining us tonight and says she was there willingly.
I don't get it. She'd rather jump off a balcony,
(11:20):
Doctor Bethany, what's going.
Speaker 8 (11:21):
To happen is that he is taking her to be
raped by other men. He's dragging her into the scene
of a crime. He's offering her things and he's taking
them away. She is completely under his control.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
Nancy.
Speaker 8 (11:33):
I've been following the witness testimony very very carefully, and
every time he stalks her, beats her, intrudes into her life,
it's because she is developing some autonomy, a very slight autonomy,
or she's enjoying somebody. Maybe she's with Nash, you know,
they're cooking dinner, or she a girlfriend spending the night
(11:53):
at her house. I think in this particular incident, she
was about to perform at a music festival. So every
time she just had an ounce of independent, of independence,
he would just beat her within an inch of her life.
Who wants to stay alive in a situation like that,
I think any of us would become suicidal in sex.
(12:14):
Nancy taking her own life was her only way out,
and we saw this with Virginia Jeffries, who recently died
that you know, life just became unbearable at some point.
It's a miracle that she's still alive.
Speaker 1 (12:28):
Quite frankly, well, I'm glad you said that. Joining me now.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
In addition to doctor Bethany and Sidney Sumner, Rachel Fisher
is with US anti trafficking expert. She starred in a
twenty twenty two documentary Surviving Sex Trafficking. She is a
forensic nurse, she's a sex assault nurse examiner, and much more.
Speaker 1 (12:47):
Rachel Fisher, thank you for being with us.
Speaker 2 (12:49):
Isn't it true that many women that have been trafficked,
you know, having one sex partner, you know, thirty forty
sex partners in one day, they choose death over being
forced back into sex trafficking.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
Isn't that true?
Speaker 4 (13:03):
Very often?
Speaker 9 (13:04):
We see that and the trauma and lethality factors that
they face from their abusers and the johns the people
are forced to have sex with that's also causing them pain.
Sometimes their only way out is death and so the
balcony seems pretty appealing. And in this case, you've got
a situation where every time she tries to leave, he
finds her. So that chase that's stalking the pimp or
(13:28):
her boyfriend finding her. She doesn't have a way out.
And then what we have here, we have a pattern
of activities. We see this over and over again. Then
we see that enterprise other people that are involved. She
doesn't she can't just leave because she doesn't own the door.
He does, and he has people that are there on
each side of the door, so there is nowhere else
for her to go.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
Sound very curious to Robert Crispin joining me private investigator
Christmas Special Investigations, formerly with the Department of Justice.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
With the DEA.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
He goes on and on now at Crispin Investigations dot com.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
Robert, I don't see him.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
When I look at Sean Combs, I'll reared back in
that courtroom, which is a whole nother study in nonverbal communication.
He reminds me of those lions that you see, you know,
pictures of They're all reared back dozing while the lioness
has to go out and bring in all the food
and take care of the children. Who's just like kicked back,
totally relaxed, large and in charge.
Speaker 1 (14:26):
That said Crispin.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
In my mind, when I look at comes, I see
every pimp I ever prosecuted, evil, dangerous, violent, brutal, And
at one point, after he gave Cassie an incredibly brutal beating, goes,
look what y'all made me do? That's such bs. He's
no different than a thug, Crispin.
Speaker 10 (14:49):
Yeah, I mean, you're starting to look into the life
of who did he really really was and is.
Speaker 4 (14:58):
It's just it's.
Speaker 10 (14:59):
Beyond and the world is starting to see who he is,
and the world is starting to see all the people.
Speaker 4 (15:06):
All the henchmen that worked for him. Where were they
to protect Cassie?
Speaker 2 (15:11):
And that's a whole other layer of Chris But I'm
glad you said that, because everybody would just stand around
and watch her get getting beaten and do nothing. So
it was kind of reinforced by the do nothings. So
Philip debate joining me veteran try a lawyer out of
the la jurisdiction debate, how can you keep saying that
(15:31):
she was in it for the money and the fame
that she wanted to be in free coughs.
Speaker 11 (15:37):
I truly believe that she was setting up this fantasy
risk a lifestyle for him for whatever reason it could
have been, because she was a hopeful starlet herself. She
was a monkey sort of R and B performer, and
what better way to make a name for yourself and
break into the business than to hook up with Sean
Diddy Combs. The problem is, I'll give you that is
(15:59):
not a in a choir boy. I wouldn't set a
plate for him at sator time. But to be fair,
being a brute, being a batterer does not mean you're
a racketeer, and that ultimately is what the prosecution has
to prove. And I'm telling you now, Nancy.
Speaker 4 (16:14):
You watch this. They're falling short.
Speaker 11 (16:17):
I know you don't want to hear it, but the
truth be told, this is over filed.
Speaker 1 (16:21):
I don't want to hear it because it's not true.
Speaker 11 (16:23):
Well, of course I would defend him on these charges.
In fact, I would even do it pro bona.
Speaker 1 (16:29):
Okay, fine, fine, you defend him. Okay. Back to Lauren
Collin joining us at the courthouse.
Speaker 2 (16:33):
I'm a little surprised that so many because so many
people have turned their backs on Cassie Ventira, and now
we've got the missing mystery witness we know to be Gina,
who reportedly was forced to have two abortions by Shawn Comes.
That Gina has ghosted the prosecution. But this guy, Deontae Nash,
(16:56):
didn't Shawn Combs actually give him his start in the
fashion business.
Speaker 3 (17:01):
He was an intern at Bad Boy, and he got
him to say that he wasn't exactly sober for some
of his meetings with the government.
Speaker 6 (17:09):
He was high for some of them.
Speaker 2 (17:10):
You know, I find that very persuasive, Doctor Bethany Marshall,
because Shawn Comes gave him his start.
Speaker 1 (17:18):
Yet he was willing to put his life.
Speaker 2 (17:20):
On the line and try to protect Cassie Ventura while
so many other people did nothing, stood by and let
it happen.
Speaker 8 (17:30):
You know, in situations like this we discover who truly
has a moral fiber. He had a moral fiber. He
cared about Cassie. He became a friend of Cassie's. All
these other people were aligned with p Diddy. We could
say maybe a few of them were frightened, but by
and large, there were so many resources in that city.
They could have called the police, They could have called
(17:52):
nine one one. They could have called the National Domestic
Abuse Hotline. So many resources, nobody used them to protect Castie.
Speaker 5 (18:00):
You know.
Speaker 2 (18:00):
Lauren Collins said something else interesting. She said that yes,
Seawan Colmmes gave him his start, but she also reported
that he confessed in some of his meetings with the
government he was high. High is a kite for some
of those meetings. Well, at least he admitted it and
didn't lie, Because Philip Dubay I love nothing more than
(18:22):
catching a liar on the stand.
Speaker 1 (18:25):
You can be a center. Sure, go get high.
Speaker 2 (18:28):
I'm sure there are people on this jury that are
not afraid of a big fat doobie, or at least
they are middle aged sons that he's sitting at home
watching TV in their basement probably high right now.
Speaker 1 (18:38):
So that's not that shocking.
Speaker 2 (18:41):
But if Deontay Nash had lied about it, he would
have been tarred and feather and rode out of town.
Speaker 11 (18:49):
Right absolutely, well, I'm going to take him at his word.
I believe that, you know, even though he's a stylist,
he does more said here with dippity Doo and Aquinet.
I believe that he saw everything that he deified to
I genuinely mean it.
Speaker 2 (19:04):
What did you just say about Dippity do In Aquinet.
I don't mocking him because you think he could be gay.
Dippity do In Aquinet, you to make poke fun in him.
He probably makes more money in a year than you
and me put together.
Speaker 11 (19:22):
Debay, probably, but not anymore because the Daddy days are over.
So he's just a West Side stylist.
Speaker 1 (19:27):
I'm sure he makes you think Daddy is his only client.
I doubt that. I doubt that. And I don't like
your dipity do comment. You know where you can shove
that another thing, you know.
Speaker 2 (19:38):
Crispin, You in your capacity with do OJ and more
and I have put witnesses on the stand and you
you've you know, they know what their testimony is going
to be, and then they flub and you.
Speaker 1 (19:54):
Go, okay, let me refresh.
Speaker 2 (19:56):
Your recollection, mister Crispin, could you review States Exhibit No.
Speaker 1 (20:00):
Number Three? And they go, yeah, out and what that is?
Speaker 5 (20:02):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (20:03):
So apparently that's what happened with Deontae Nash. So you
know that's not the end of the world.
Speaker 10 (20:08):
Yeah, well, that wouldn't be the first time that that's
happened to a government witness. And the fact that they
interviewed this guy why he was high.
Speaker 4 (20:16):
To me, as a former agent, that's a problem.
Speaker 10 (20:18):
I would probably wait until he's not high, and that
would be one of my questions.
Speaker 4 (20:22):
In the beginning. Then are you under.
Speaker 10 (20:25):
The influence of any drugs and narcotics or alcohol at
this point, because anything he tells me probably isn't going
to be one hundred percent of truth, and I need
one hundred percent of the truth if I plan on
moving forward to take something to a.
Speaker 4 (20:38):
Grand jurate.
Speaker 2 (20:44):
Crime stories with Nancy Grace, we are just learning that
the president has granted two serious pardons. Is Sean Combs
in line for a presidential pardon?
Speaker 12 (21:07):
Listen, many believe Sean Combs rushing the legal process on
the belief there may be a presidential pardon waiting for him.
Say his allies CosIng up to presidential staffers since Trump's
reelection comes relatable to Trump as they've been friendly over
the years, and both insisted sexual assault allegations are false.
But given the seriousness of the charges, a pardon or
commutation for Combs would be a pr nightmare for the president. Okay,
(21:31):
PR nightmare? Does Trump care about that?
Speaker 3 (21:37):
This?
Speaker 2 (21:37):
On the heels of the Chrisly pardons of the mister
and missus Chrisly Sidney Sumner. How much were the Chrislies
convicted of defrauding? How many millions of dollars did they
rip off?
Speaker 5 (21:57):
Thirty million, Nancy. That's a big.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
Number, okay, thirty million dollars. And here's my concern as
it relates to Sean Combs. We now know that in
the last hours a presidential pardon goes out.
Speaker 1 (22:12):
To nb A young Boy and Larry Hoover. Who are they?
Speaker 2 (22:19):
NBA Young Boy was in a federal pen for illegal
firearm possessioned and according to his lawyer, a renowned criminal
defense attorney that I've sparred with in the past, Drew Finling,
states that his client, NBA Young Boy was pardoned without
even asking. He did not even submit a formal request.
Speaker 1 (22:42):
Oh okay.
Speaker 2 (22:44):
But more concerning in addition to NBA Young Boy would
be Larry Hoover. I hope that doesn't ring a bell
to many people, but he is the founder of the
Chicago's Gangster Disciples, serving six life sentences to murder and conspiracy.
(23:07):
His case got attention. Here's the connection. After a twenty
two benefit concert by Kanye West and Drake see.
Speaker 1 (23:17):
Where I'm going with this.
Speaker 2 (23:18):
So Hoover, the founder of the Chicago Gangster Disciples gang,
a notoriously violent gang, was a subject of a benefit
that was performed by Drake and Kanye West, who's a
complete idiot West is anyway. So now we've got the
(23:41):
rap and hip hop world involved in Larry Hoover.
Speaker 1 (23:46):
So okay, Sidney Sumner.
Speaker 2 (23:49):
Now two more controversial pardons, and the word is that
Sean comes is basically, hey, can we skip the trial
part and get onto the pardon.
Speaker 7 (24:00):
Many people believe that that's what Sean Combs is thinking
throughout this entire trial, why he pushed for a speedy trial.
Speaker 5 (24:07):
But I don't.
Speaker 7 (24:10):
Think Trump could do this with the seriousness of these
charges and not be mowed down by angry mobs deservedly.
Speaker 2 (24:22):
So now here's the thing when you say, in a
crime of this serious nature, here's my concern. And you know,
I hate politics. I don't get into politics because they
make me nauseous. But Robert Crispin, the founder of the
Chicago Disciples gangster Disciples gang, linked to murder and conspiracy charges.
Speaker 1 (24:46):
That's serious. How much more serious can charge be? Other
than murder. And I'm not.
Speaker 2 (24:52):
Asking you to wade into a political morass. I'm talking
about the possibility based on on a track record. You've
got the Chrislies, who it's a done deal. They were
convicted of thirty million dollars defrauding. Now you've got inby
(25:13):
a young boy, and now you've got Larry Hoover. I'm
very concerned after all this, could there be a presidential
pardon of Combs if there's ever a conviction.
Speaker 10 (25:26):
Well, I will tell you, Nancy that I think, like
everybody else, I'm shocked about Hoover's pardon the other two rappers.
Speaker 4 (25:38):
Kind of the timing is a little suspect.
Speaker 10 (25:41):
The fact that Diddy Combs's entourage has been cozying up
to that particular political party is a concern from a
government guy because the government.
Speaker 1 (25:57):
He just said something really important because Sidney Sumner.
Speaker 2 (26:01):
As it relates back to the Chrisly pardons, isn't it
true the daughter Savannah Chrisley insinuated herself at mar a
Lago and other fundraising events and that's how she got
to the Trump people to get the pardon for her
mom and dad.
Speaker 13 (26:17):
Yes, that is correct, and we know that allies, so
called allies of Diddy are apparently cozying up to Trump's staff,
but reports.
Speaker 7 (26:28):
Her saying that it hasn't made it to Trump's ears
and they're not sure it ever will.
Speaker 2 (26:33):
Okay, guys off politics and a potential pardon, and I
want to get to a missing witness, a witness that
has apparently ghosted the state.
Speaker 1 (26:45):
She's in the indictment. We know about her.
Speaker 2 (26:49):
It's Gina reportedly subjected to two forced abortions.
Speaker 1 (26:54):
By Sean Combs.
Speaker 2 (26:56):
Now that takes a lot of backbone to stand up
Feds and not show up pursue it to a subpoena.
If she did get a subpoena, who is Gina Sydney Summer.
Speaker 1 (27:08):
Who is she?
Speaker 7 (27:08):
Gina is another girlfriend of Diddy, and she was dating
the Mogul the Rapper at the same time as Cassie
from twenty fourteen to roughly twenty nineteen, so that's for
a five year relationship. It was fairly serious. But the
whole time she was completely aware that Holmes was also
(27:30):
dating Cathy, and he reminded Gina of that over and over.
She says he constantly belittled her and used Kafie against her,
but she really fell for him, and she described falling
for him because he told her he loved her. It
was kind of a love bombing, like they had only
(27:51):
known each other for a few months, and Combs came
on really strong, so she felt they had a real connection.
Like Kathy, she stayed despite years of abuse.
Speaker 2 (28:03):
We are live at the courthouse Sean Combs aka Diddy
aka Puff Puffy Puff Daddy Love and meeting many more
monikers on trial in a multi count federal indictment. At
this hour, a missing Ditty witness mysteriously vanishes days before
the trial, and her allegations are some of the most disturbing.
Speaker 1 (28:26):
Yet.
Speaker 2 (28:29):
Victim number three, as laid out in the indictment, is
reportedly Gina Wynn.
Speaker 1 (28:36):
And why has she disappeared? I think I know.
Speaker 14 (28:41):
Listen, he like stumped on my stomach, like really hardened.
I took the wind out of my breath. I couldn't
even I couldn't breathe, and he kept but he kept
hitting me.
Speaker 2 (28:51):
That from Unwined with Tasha Kay joining me an all
star panel, Sidney Sumner, you believe that victim number three,
reportedly Gina Howen, will never testify.
Speaker 5 (29:08):
Why you disappeared. Nancy, we haven't heard from her since
before trial. And this seems very very odd because prosecutors
did secure an alias for Gina to testify under a pseudonym.
She was not supposed to give up her actual identity
on the stand. But just a few days before trial
(29:30):
they came back and said, no, Victim three wants to
testify under her name, of course not revealing her name
at that time, but they changed their mind and said
we don't need this alias anymore. And then as we
went to trial, we suddenly couldn't find Victim three anymore.
So it's a very odd progression of events from wanting
(29:50):
to come out, wanting to tell her story, wanting to
own her own identity on the stand, and then.
Speaker 2 (29:56):
Vanishing crime stories with Nancy Grace too, Rachel Fisher joining
me anti trafficking expert. I had the same thing happen
in a child sex trafficking case.
Speaker 1 (30:15):
The victim went missing.
Speaker 2 (30:17):
The trial had already started, Okay, the trial had already started.
The next morning was the vic We'd done opening statements
and the victim disappeared. So I shuffled the witnesses and
started with other witnesses and that night my investigator and
I were out till five o'clock in the morning and we.
Speaker 1 (30:38):
Found the girl and she came in.
Speaker 2 (30:41):
And testified, and she was petrified, but she testified, and
there was a conviction that purpse got twenty to life
behind bars. So this is not uncommon and I find
it really interesting. I'll circle back to Bethy Marshall on
this that she was very bold at the get go,
saying I don't need a pseudonym, I don't need a
Jane Doe. I'm going to testify under my own name,
(31:03):
and then she does a runner.
Speaker 9 (31:05):
It's very common for cases like this, especially with trafficking.
We don't see a lot of these cases going up
because they're afraid to testify it in front of their abuser,
in front of their trafficker. And in a case like this,
it's even more so that fear of retaliation, the fear
of not being believed. But in a situation where there's
more than one person, even if the defendant that they're
(31:26):
looking at while being on the stand goes away, they
have a whole enterprise behind them. They have security guards,
they have their goons on the outside that will find them,
and that is a real thing. Especially when you experienced
it and you hear others talking about it.
Speaker 2 (31:38):
And we've seen that Rachel Fisher unfold in this case,
doctor Bethany Marshall, over and over again, we hear about
a bodyguard, a hinch person working for Seawan Combs going
and physically dragging Cassie Ventura back, and what the state's
doing now, And they did it with Deontay Nash, They've
done it with Capricorn Clark, who seemingly has some beef
(32:01):
against Cassie Ventira whatever, because when Cassie's in the hospital
giving birth, Kepricorn Clark's on the stand trashing her talent.
Speaker 1 (32:08):
That said, it happens over and over and over.
Speaker 2 (32:12):
The alleged victim gets dragged back. That's just what Rachel
Fisher was saying.
Speaker 1 (32:19):
But at the.
Speaker 2 (32:19):
Beginning, the ghosting witness, Gina Hoen was very brave. She
was full of bravado that she didn't need a moniker,
she didn't need to be a Jane Doe. And then
suddenly now she's gone, Nancy.
Speaker 8 (32:32):
Something happened. We don't know now what it is, but
some threat has to have been made against her because
she wanted to be on the stand she wanted to
be like a Cassie Ventura. She was willing to face
down her abuser. But the question is if P Diddy
was willing to call Cassie Ventura's parents and threatened to
(32:52):
release sex tapes if they did not mortgage their house
or get a lean or a loan for twenty thousand dollars.
What are Sean Combs I guess the criminals who act
in concert with him, what kind of threats are they
making against witness number three. I'm sure it is terrifying
(33:13):
and that she fears for her life she goes on
that stand.
Speaker 2 (33:17):
Well, obviously she's going to corroborate everything that Cassie Ventura
has testified to, and that's what the state needs to
do now in case there are still people like Philip
Dubay claiming she was in it for the money and
the fame. Let's hear more of what Sean Comes' defense
team is so afraid of.
Speaker 14 (33:33):
He grabbed my hair from the bag and was like
punching the back of my head because he was just
avoiding my face when he was kidding me.
Speaker 2 (33:43):
Again that from Unwined with Tasha Kay, same thing, same
exact scenario, grabbing her by her hair, pulling her around.
We heard the same thing from Cassie Ventura. We heard
the same thing from the sex worker who came amen.
And when Cassie Ventura was complaining or wouldn't do what
(34:06):
Shawn Comb said during a free cough, he grabbed her
by her hair, pulled her to another room. The sex
worker could hear him beating her, and the beating was
so bad she ran back and jumped in the lap
of the sex worker. So we see a common theme.
Same thing you're hearing Gina when say why won't she testify?
(34:28):
And a forced abortion. We heard rumors of a forced
surgical procedure early on.
Speaker 1 (34:37):
Is this that.
Speaker 2 (34:39):
Procedure, Sidney Sumner, not one but two alleged abortions forced
on Gina? We think is mystery witness victim number three?
What can you tell me about the forced abortions?
Speaker 7 (34:50):
Well, Nancy Gina, in this twenty nineteen interview, said she
first got pregnant by Sean Combs about nine months after
meeting him, so early into their relationship. And that's what
you just heard her describing is well, I don't know
that I want.
Speaker 5 (35:08):
To get rid of this child. I love you, I
know it's early, but maybe we should keep it. And
Sean Combs was insistent that she have an abortion and
offered her fifty grand to do so. So Gina explains
that she turned down the money because she didn't want
him to think that that's what she was after Combs
(35:28):
went to burning Man while she had this abortion, So
she's doing something she doesn't want to do in the
first place. This is an extremely personal, hard choice for
many women. She's upset, she's emotionally fragile, and she can't
even reach Combs for two weeks while he's out in
the Las Vegas desert with Taffy, while she's sitting in
(35:51):
bed recovering from this medical procedure emotionally harmed.
Speaker 2 (35:55):
We are live at the Federal Courthouse bringing you the
latest in the prosecution of Sean Comb's aka Diddy. We
are learning about a missing witness, a mystery witness, victim
number three, who has absolutely goes.
Speaker 1 (36:10):
To the state.
Speaker 2 (36:11):
Is there any chance of bringing her in from the
cold and getting her up on that witness stand. In
the last hour's pseudonym Mia was on the stand describing
brutality attacks. All of this goes to proving coercion proving
(36:33):
women were forced to take part in free coughs and
that Shawn Cons's employees were used as minions to further
criminal activity, which is reco I see why Shawn Combs
doesn't want Gina on the stand because, like Mia pseudonym,
(37:00):
it corroborates everything. Cassie Ventura said, that's what the state's
doing with all of these witnesses. Philip dubay that on
trial lawyer out of la is there a way with
subpoena to actually force the witness to take the stand.
Speaker 4 (37:15):
Of course there is.
Speaker 11 (37:16):
I tell people all the time that a subpoena is
not a PSA. It's not a save the date, it's
not an invitation, it's not a flyer to a block party.
It is compulsory process through which you must appear in court. Now,
whether or not you refuse to testify as another question,
and to be quite candid, I'm not sure if she's
(37:37):
afraid to come to court because she's afraid that she
might incriminate herself and absent a full grant of use
in transactional immunity, she does not want to be added
as a co conspirator or maybe added as an unindicted
co conspirator. That's the last thing that.
Speaker 1 (37:52):
She moved on.
Speaker 2 (37:54):
We've already seen two witnesses so far be given immunity
by the judge in order to testify. One went and
obtain illegal drugs for Shawn Combs. Another did similar activity
for Shawn Combs. Both of them got immunity. So this
woman could have immunity. And yes, I'm not happy I
(38:18):
had to do it, but I've had to have a
witness arrested and brought to the courtroom.
Speaker 1 (38:24):
Did I like it?
Speaker 7 (38:24):
No?
Speaker 1 (38:25):
I didn't like it that I have to do it
to prove my case. Yes I did.
Speaker 2 (38:29):
And once you get on the stand, unless you are
going to claim Fifth Amendment right against self incrimination, you've
got to testify.
Speaker 1 (38:41):
If you don't testify.
Speaker 2 (38:42):
When you're on the stand, you can be held in
contempt and put in jail for up to thirty days
in the state system. So if the witness, as you
accurately stated the law debate, if the witness is afraid
they're going to incriminate themselves, the judge can immediately.
Speaker 1 (38:58):
Give them immunity.
Speaker 2 (39:00):
Right then they have no reason legally not to testify,
and they can be forced to testify isn't that true?
Speaker 5 (39:08):
Yes?
Speaker 11 (39:08):
Absolutely. I mean once you are given a full grant
of immunity, either through prosecutors or through the court judicially,
then you've got to take the stand. Otherwise you can
be jailed for contempt.
Speaker 4 (39:19):
Now, there is a.
Speaker 11 (39:20):
Split of authority in state and federal court that even
if you show up but you refuse to testify in
a domestic violence case, the court cannot jail you for
refusing to testify on the theory that they don't want
the witness or the victim to have to relive the trauma.
So the fact that they have appeared and not haulted
on the subpoena will save them. But whether or not
(39:42):
they can be forced.
Speaker 2 (39:42):
To you, I hear you about domestic violence, but I
want to get to can't Maya be forced in?
Speaker 1 (39:49):
If she's given immunity, can she be forced to testify?
Speaker 2 (39:52):
But what I'm saying is a pattern to Robert Crispin.
We see things print cards critical to showing who conducted
the firebomb on key Cutty's card. We see the fingerprint
cards disappear from within the LAPD. We see a bribery
(40:14):
attempt at the Intercontinental about the Cassie beatdown. Kim has
tried to pay off a security guard, right, and now
mysteriously a witness disappears.
Speaker 1 (40:26):
Are you seeing a pattern?
Speaker 4 (40:28):
I'm seeing a huge pattern. And this is one witness
that the defense and did he do not want on
the stand? And why is that?
Speaker 10 (40:36):
Because through all these other victims that have come forward,
they were pregnant, they didn't get kicked in the stomach.
We're adding the element now of a child, of a baby.
Speaker 4 (40:48):
In a womb.
Speaker 10 (40:49):
None of that happened with anybody else that's been here.
This is now the element that they don't want to
get to the jury. And let's step back a little farther.
We're not talking about calling the cops and getting the
stuff done. How about he kicked her in the stomach?
Speaker 4 (41:01):
What happened? Did he kill that child when he did that?
How hard was that? Did she go to the hospital?
Did she have to have the abortion?
Speaker 10 (41:09):
Because we had a heartbeat at the doctor's office ten
days before that. He kicks her in the stomach and
now we go a day later, two days later and
the kid's dead. Is that really why she had the abortion?
Because even in her own yeah, I interview, when she
was on that show. She says, you know, I.
Speaker 4 (41:27):
Don't know what I want to do. Yet she didn't
make that decision to get rid of that kid yet
that element. They don't want that to the jury.
Speaker 2 (41:35):
In the last hours, Mia Pseudonym on the stand. Her
passport has been shown to the jury, so they know
her identity.
Speaker 1 (41:43):
The rest of the world does not. That's how serious
this is.
Speaker 2 (41:47):
Makes you understand why Gina Howinn may not want to appear.
Describing a sex assault by Sean Combs, we stopped to
remember an American hero, Deputy Gospabel Caleb Rule Fort Bend
Constable's office, passed away in the line of duty. Leaves
(42:09):
behind wife Eden and their four children. American hero Deputy
Gospbel Caleb Rule Nancy Grace signing off goodbye friend.
