the show. After my first day at HQ, it felt

a little bit like I was thrown into the deep
end of a pool. Mister Luke told me he had
an undrivable jeep. Calls were coming in twenty four seven,
and now there was this mystery message to figure out.
With everything going on, I quickly had to take over
the rescue calls.

Hi Dah, This is Joe over at the lakeside Marina
Grand Avenue.

Well, we are supposed to have a full house yere
boats have been filling up the docks every day with
this beautiful weather. The problem is that something seems to
be going on with the fish around the beach. I
cleaned up about fifteen that didn't make it, and there's
a butch stillia swimming all lopsided on the surface.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
Man, that isn't good. Is there anything visibly causing a problem? Nets,
anything leaking from a boat nearby?
Speaker 4 (01:44):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (01:45):
Nothing that I can see. It would be great to
get one of you down here, though, wouldn't put it
past myself to miss something. I have the beach closed
for now, but if things get worse, I'll have to
close the whole dock too.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
You got it. I'll come down as soon as I
can and we'll see what we can figure out.

I'm heading over to the Lakeside Marina. They have something
going on with the water and the fish, okay, Marcus.

When I made it down to the marina, I could
instantly see there was something not quite right. The entire
beach side was as still as can be, murky and
totally green with algae. It almost seemed like there was
something blocking it off from the rest of the lake,
which otherwise seemed to be normal.

Marcus. Nice to meet you. I'm Joe. I talk to

No, usually as clear as can be. I guess that's
the strange part of it all. Even if there was
something like a net down there, I wouldn't even be
able to see it with all this algae.

And you haven't noticed anything else suspicious around the snack
shop or anything.

Well, not with my own two eyes at least. Unfortunately,
my security cameras broke just last week and I haven't
gotten a chance to get them reped.

Hmmm, well, that was suspicious timing. I'm gonna throw some
waiters on to see what I can figure out.
Speaker 7 (03:32):
It sounds good. In the meantime, I'll be over by
the docks. I'll let you know if I notice anything
else too.

All right, thanks, Joe, Let's see this area definitely isn't
getting enough fresh water. It's like a big sloppy fish bowl.

I reached into the green, smelly water and pulled out
what seemed to be the strangest water filter I'd ever seen.
The only thing was right on the side of the device.
It red water unfilter. The cord for this little machine
reached all the way around beach booize and straight into
the outlet on Joe's snackshack Man.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
This thing somehow managed to create quite a mess. I
just wish I knew how it worked. It somehow blocked
this section of the water off from the rest of
the lake. Whoa, hold on, hold on, little guy, some
fish like you need more freshwater than this this algae mess.
And there now where was I. I'm definitely gonna need to

bring this unfilter back to HQ. Hey, Joe, you're about
this got anything? I think this gross contraptions are culprit.
Speaker 7 (04:44):
By golly, what is sneaky little device to cause such
a mess?
Speaker 2 (04:49):
You're telling me? I'm gonna bring it back to HQ
to see if anyone there has any idea how it
ended up in your lake in the first place. You
should be okay to open the beach back up by
this afternoon, though, and hopefully you won't have any more
problems down here.

the logo on that stinger that punctured my jeep. Hold
on a second. Uh here, it's hard to see it first,
but the mark is definitely the same. Hmm. Now if
we could only figure out what the of this inscription says.

Yeah, it looks the same, all right, But what does
that even mean?

sure does remind me of a certain issue we had
the water treatment facility not that long ago.

of this by ourselves good.
