So that's Backyard Butchers dot Com, Code DC TV. Let's go,

(01:37):
what's up, guys.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
I'm back home finally. Look at me. It's been a
rough month at the Ultimate Fighter. The boy has been uh.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
But it was a it was something, let's just say,
it was something.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
I like the experience. I like to coach, and I
love being around jail and everything.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
But it was something busy bit. But I'm glad to
be home, Glad to be able to start coming back
directly to you guys, especially on some of these things
I've been happening to. Mixed Martial Arts, so YOUFC three thirteen.
So Justin geeche returned successfully back to the octagon, beat
Ralphael Pazeve and what was a typical Justin Geatesche fight. Look,

(02:19):
there were so many people that wondered if he could
still fight, He could still do this and the other.
He answered that. But by winning that fight, when you're
a guy like Justin Gaigee, Dustin Pourier, it really is
all about timing of when you're going to get something.
So soon as he wins a fight, obviously people start

(02:40):
asking if he wants to fight Islamahachev. You know what's
funny is how short memory we as fans have because
right before JG went into that fight, I had people
from steven A all the way up on first Take
to the fan that I would see in passing in

(03:03):
Las Vegas, telling me they were concerned about Justin, concerned
about his ability to take a punch.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Does he still have it?

Speaker 1 (03:13):
He wins one fight and now people are saying, let's
give him a title fight. It's like the way things
change so quickly to me is always surprising because I
get having a short memory as a fan. But we
were talking about him being retired a fight ago. Now

(03:36):
I am not saying I don't want him to get
a championship opportunity. I'm just saying how quickly things can
change in this warter makes marshals, especially when you have
a star attaching name like Justin Gagee. Does he deserve
a title fight in terms of resume right now?

Speaker 2 (03:56):
No?

Speaker 1 (03:57):
Because actually he beat Dustin Pourier to win the BMF title.
He beat somebody right before. Hold on, let me see,
let me jump on my deal here. So he beat
just He beat Dustin Pourier to win the BMF title.

(04:17):
He lost his championship fight. That could be obviously, but
that was twenty twenty. So when I look back at
JG's record, right in twenty four he lost to Max Holloway.
In twenty three he beat Dustin, he beat Dustin Pourier,
and he beat Ralfaelfhaziv. Twenty two he lost to Oliverra.

(04:38):
So he lost his title fight against OLIVERA. Won two fights,
then lost one another one, so he's essentially three and
one in his last four fights. When you got it
like again, when you're a star like Justin Gaigie, that
can get you a title fight, but then everybody else's
pissed off. Armants Rookian's pissed off. Right says he doesn't
deserve after beating h the number eleven ranc guy in

(05:02):
the world, on short notice. But the problem is for
Armand is that he didn't fight Islam in Los Angeles,
and then right away the organization says he's not fighting
for the belt next. So it really does put him
in a situation where you went from number one contender
to really not having much.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
Say Iliot the Pooria has.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
Gone up to one hundred and fifty five pounds, and
he seems to be a guy that could fight for
a belt.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
You know or could fight for the title. Ilius.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
When I tell you it's gonna surprise, you wouldn't be
surprising if it's him versus Islam, because Him versus Islam
is kind of a fight that you almost expect, right,
almost expect whenever you have a guy like the champion
going up to another weight class and have a dominant
champion that's beaten so many guys in that weight class

(06:00):
that he's going up to.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
I don't know that Islam should fight him first, because.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
For Makachev, he goes and beats uh.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
Uh, he goes and beats Iliot to Pooria.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
Right, people will say he beat Voke, he beat Voke,
he beat Iliot the Pooria, he beat Charles O Lavera,
and he beat uh Hanatoo. Seems pretty good. That's five
title fight wins. But in that it would say, well,
he's defended the belt three times against featherweights, because that
because at the end of the day, guys, it doesn't

(06:35):
matter what you do are in high regard you hold someone,
the fact that he was the champion in the lower
weight class is what's gonna be pointed to the moment
Islam beats him. Because anytime you have a dominant champ
anytime you look for reasons to discredit them. Happens all
the time. And I beat he bet a featherweight, and

(06:56):
he beat a featherweight and then he beat a guy
that was ranked lowe or on a day's notice.

Speaker 2 (07:01):
People will always.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
Try to like find holes in his title reign. When
those title rain.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
Holes aren't there. He is the best fighter in the world.
He is the more pompong guy in the world, and.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
We should respect that. But Justin Gaegee seems to be
the guy that could be next. But Illiot's the poitiers.
There also Armantserukian has a claim to maybe getting a
title fight. Yo one point fifty five right now is
a complete mess.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
It's a mess.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
With this mess, I would say for me personally, to
make it more clear, to add some direction to the
weight class. Hell, guys, we still got Dustin Pourrier out
here who says he's only fighting legends.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
There's only certain.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
Guys that fit the idea of who he wants to
fight as a retirement fight. Even though we thought the
last fight was a retirement fight. He told us all
that he was done, right, He told us all that
he was done. But he's back now, and nobody's mad
that Dustin Poitier is gonna continue to fight. But only
a few guys fit the bill of who he wants

(08:12):
to see the last time he steps into the octagon,
especially if it's in New Orleans.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
So here's what I got for you.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
God, because I even forgot about over dude, it's an
abundance of riches at one hundred and fifty five pounds.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
Olivera is I thought he was supposed to be next
for Islam. Olivera New Bronx. All right, here we go,
Charles oliver Charles Olivera. This is crazy.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
This guy I didn't even get into du Bronx. Olivera
was supposed to fight for the bell right after he
beat Michael Chandler. Can't make the fight. It turns into
Armand c Rukian, who before was supposed to fight for
the belt before Olivera got the chance, but said he
didn't want it. He needed a full camp. He's out
of the fight in Los Angeles because he got sick.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
His back was hurt.

Speaker 1 (09:05):
He can't go in steps to Nato, Mike Connell, Justin
Gateche meets Rafiel Zeve. Oh my god, so Yeah, iliot
To Pooria goes up. It's crazy. Here's what I would suggest,
and I'm not a matchmaker. Iliot To Pouria takes on
Charles Olavera. Justin Gaichee goes into the title fight. When

(09:32):
Makatchev right Pourier fights against He won't fight O'Connell from
the same gym. Chandler fighting Patty Pimblet. I can't even
matchine read this thing start again to Pouria versus Islamahachev, Yes,

(09:58):
book it, gay Chie versus Serouki on book it. Whoever
wins fights Makatchav That that's it right there, that's it.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
To Poio gets a shot.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
Sperukian gaeche win against the title fight, We're back in
the line. At one fifty five, Olivera go down to
New Orleans, fight Dustin Pourier. If you win again, you're
next after that guy. There it is, that's it. Olivera
fits the bill. Olivera is a former champion, a big name.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
He could be the type of guy Poier would want.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
To fight in his retirement fight. But just to just
to recap, guys, just to recap. In the last year,
what happened at one fifty five. Akacha is the champ.
Olivera pulls out and steps vote Macatchav knocks him out
Seruki and then goes and beats Olivera.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
They offer him a title fight.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
He says no, I need time, right after Dustin Poitier
just beat Ben Whiles on the knee. When he says no,
Dustin Pourier and it slips into a title fight. Fights
Islamhachev in Newark. Islamahachev wins good. Olavera comes back.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
In November, beats Michael Chandler.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
Rees sets himself up as a guy can fight for
the belt. But wait, guys that goes to Armand Serukion,
who just beat Charles Olivera. All the while Illiot support
is beating everybody up at one forty five, armand Serukion
gets announced as the guy that's fighting for the belt
at one hundred and fifty five pounds in January. He

(11:30):
can't fight and steps to Nott to White Connell. Makatchiev
beats him armand says I want I want my chance.
UFC says you don't get your chance. Take take a
step back. Now you have Olivera who didn't get his fight. Yes,
Rukian didn't get his fight, Illiot didn't finish his. Max
Holloway says, I'm going up to one fifty five. Then
Justin Gatseee beats rafaelpa Sive. Four guys now all standing

(11:54):
on the doorstep of a title fight.

Speaker 2 (11:57):
That's one fifty five.

Speaker 1 (11:58):
Right now, and I'm here for it because it's all
fun fights with all tremendous guys.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
But I'm matching it for you.

Speaker 1 (12:05):
Gai Chee, Serukian, Olavera versus Poitier, Makatchev versus Illiot to
Poria and there you go, guys. One point five is
a mess and everybody's got something to say and that's
the best. That's what makes it interesting and that's what
makes it fun. And we still got Patty to Batty
next month against Michael Chandler, who, if he wins, will say, hey, guys,

(12:31):
I'm here, welcome me to the party. I want to
be involved in the conversation and rightfully so it really
is crazy one hundred and fifty five pounds, but I'm
here for it and I love it. So guys, Happy
to be home, Happy to be back talking to you
guys directly until next time. Like subscribe and tell you
