Speaker 1 (00:27):
Take a deep breath in through your nose. Holds it now,
release slowly again deep in, helle hold release, repeating internally

(01:03):
to yourself as you connect to my voice. I am
deeply deep well, I am deeply well. I am deeply

(01:30):
I'm Debbie Brown. And this is the Deeply Well Podcast.
Welcome to Deeply Well, a soft place to land in
your journey. A podcast for those that are curious, creative,

(01:53):

is where we heal, this is where we transcend. Welcome

so deeply grateful and honored to have you in the room.
Thank you for bringing your heart, thank you for bringing

(02:14):
your mind, thank you for bringing your process, thank you
for bringing your desires and intentions into this space. Because
that's what doing the work really is, right. It's creating
the change that we long for. It's creating the difference
and experience that we're currently having, and it always requires

(02:34):
all of the facets of us to do that. As always,
I am deeply grateful and honored to have you join
me on this journey, and today, I think more than
ever most especially, I am so excited to share something
so incredibly important in my life with you. I did

(02:58):
a thing. I am officially announcing and sharing with you
my new book, Living in Wisdom, A Path to Embodying
your authentic self, embracing grief, and developing self mastery. It

(03:19):
is finally available for pre order, So right now, as
you're listening, as you're watching, log onto that Amazon, to
that Barnes and Noble and please preorderbis book. I feel
that as I was writing this book, and I was
on probably a six to seven year journey of when

(03:40):
the idea, the download, the understanding of what God wanted
me to birth came into my awareness. And then it
took me two years to really get all of these
experiences and all of this knowing and all of this
work down on paper to share it in this way.

(04:01):
And I couldn't be more proud, I couldn't be more thrills,
I couldn't be more excited for you, not just to
get this book, but to live with this book. I
wrote this book with the intention of it being a
companion that travels through life with you. So my hope
is that you devour it and of course read it,
but that you also let it become dog eared. Live

(04:22):
with it, revisit it over time, spend time with it,
let it join you at different spaces and places and
different new levels that you reach within your self, work
and your growth and your life. I know it's going
to stand the test of time with you, and I'm
just really excited to share Living in Wisdom is a

(04:43):
timely and essential guide for navigating the complexities of your
current life, of this modern life, of this experience of
being alive right now when we have so many things
that are constantly distracting us, constantly ripping our hearts open,

(05:04):
constantly asking us to embody what we know deeply and
use it to serve. It's an essential guy that is
offering a deeply holistic approach that integrates the mind, the body,
and the spirit. And as you know as a listener
of this show, that is what we're doing in every

(05:24):
episode is we explore sometimes these meteor topics you know
deeply well. I've always seen it as a podcast not
just for people that are doing the work, but I
found that as I've met you, as I've heard from you,
this is a show specifically for those that are very
deeply self aware, that have done some work already that

(05:45):
had an understanding of who they are. And you know
where the landmines are, you know where those wounds are.
And in this show we explore all the ways to
transcend those limitations, to transcend complex lived experiences and traumas
or discomforts and challenges and be able to navigate this
world and this life with more beauty, with more purpose,

(06:09):
with more service, with more integrity, with more honor, with
more dignity, with more love, with more compassion. And that's
what's in this book. You know, in an era where
many of us feel incredibly overwhelmed by our unresolved trauma
or stagnant in our personal growth right because sometimes we

(06:31):
have to take breaks. Sometimes we have to open and
see the crevices that we may have missed. In this book,
I provide accessible strategies to ignite transformation and resilience by
reframing grief as a master teacher and emphasizing the power

(06:51):
of intention and self love of practice. This book will
empower you to embrace any brokenness that has ever been
present and really use it as a gateway to define
wisdom as a gateway truly to unmatched growth, unparalleled personal

(07:11):
power through practical tools that are in the book Soulful Insights.
Living in wisdom inspires a journey of self mastery and
reconnection with the sacred, making it ideally my intention, a
beacon of hope, a lighthouse, a trusted source of guidance

(07:32):
for navigating these transformative times. Because we don't want to
just navigate the grief. We don't want to just navigate
the transformation. We don't want to just navigate through discomfort
so we can keep going. We want to find ways
to still allow and make space no matter what we're
going through, no matter what the world is going through,

(07:54):
to make that space for potent creativity, to make space
for tiny joy, to make space for the truth of
who and what we are and what we deserve to feel.
But it's also a masterful guide for coming into acceptance
that part of the human experience is signing up to

(08:16):
feel and process all of it, all of it, all
of it, the karma, the hard stuff, the good stuff,
the joy, the happiness, the pleasure, all of it. All
of life's experiences have led you to this exact moment
for a reason. So instead of feeling disempowered by them,

(08:40):
or potentially instead of feeling overwhelmed and frozen by some
of them. Let's use them. Let's use them for our
highest good. Let's use our wisdom to serve. Let's use
our wisdom and the adversity that we have faced as
superpowers so that you can up level life in every

(09:02):
category of how you experience it. So, as so many
of you know again, I'm Debbie Brown. I'm a wellness educator,
i am a wellbeing advisor, and I'm a multidisciplinary healer.
I have been steeped specifically in the processes of spiritual psychology,
of energy work and energy healing, of somatic processing for

(09:22):
many years. I've dedicated my entire life, as you know
well from this show, left an entire other world over
a decade ago so that I could really devote myself
to the emotional work that I felt God calling me to.
And I've come to understand a really beautiful yet surprising
truth about the journey to healing and self realization. It

(09:45):
can really only begin when we learn to accept and
embrace our pain. When we're not trying to do the
work to avoid the things that have happened, but when
we accept what has happened and we do the work
to transcend that feeling and change the way we relate
to any of the things that have happened or are

(10:08):
happening to us. Sometimes that is that big tea or
little t trauma, and sometimes it's really just that daily
friction of what it is to be alive. And we
can't undercount that, right, We can't dismiss that having struggles
and having discomforts in day to day life. It is
something that we all go through. But there are ways

(10:30):
to really get into the fibers of whatever that is
for each of us, because for each of us it
is very unique and it is very much serving purpose.
We can get into the fibers of it so that
it can actually be useful to us, so that instead
of draining us, some of those experiences and the way
we relate to them can be transformed as fuel for

(10:50):
our purpose. So I'm so excited, so excited to invite
you on this path with me when that is ultimately
going to guide you back to yourself, allowing you to
be transformed by both the grief and the joy. I
want you back in your body, get back into your senses,

(11:13):
get back into your feelings. This book leaves together really
all of my expertise and so many of my life
experiences from spiritual philosophies and spiritual psychology, metaphysical, vedic philosophy,
ancient wisdom traditions, holistic self care practices. So that means
we're diving into the mental, the physical, the emotional, and

(11:34):
the spiritual way of exploring ourselves. And I also share
a lot of deep, deep, private storytelling for my own
life and my own complex and deeply synchronistic life experiences.
I've had the grief, and I've had the miracles, I've
had the joy, and I've developed really a passionate, pleasurable

(11:56):
relationship with myself and my life. And some of the
ways that I have come to that are the practices
that we explore in this book. Living in Wisdom is
an essential guide to getting yourself out of your head
and into your body. What are you ready to heal?

(12:17):
What are you ready to release? For the last time? Time? Time? Deeply? Well,
as part of the process of developing the book, right
you're working with the publishers you're working with and understanding
of what is the best way to get this big

(12:38):
work across in the world. And when I was thinking
of as part of the exercise like, who is this
book really for? Who did I write this for? Who
does God want this for? I really realize that it's
so deeply connected to people like me, to people like you,
or who I imagine you to be. As I think

(12:59):
of those listening to this podcast, it's people that are
self aware, that are intelligent, that are compassionate, that have
a sense of self, but have also lived through adversity
or have had complicated and complex lived experiences. And what
do I mean when I say that, well, to have

(13:19):
complex lived experiences mean it may not just be one
major challenge in your life that you made it through, right.
You may be someone that has had so many varied
experiences of having to navigate challenge. You might be someone
that says, you know, I don't understand why does it
have to be so difficult for me? Or why do

(13:41):
I find that I keep facing this or I'm a
good person or a desire to be a good person?
How is it that I keep finding myself in scenarios
that the truth of me, the goodness of me, is
not reflected back. You know, your people that seek out more.
That's how I found, you know, on my journey and

(14:03):
a lot of what I explore in this book is
there's so many levels and facets to being able to
heal your life and live your life with beauty, grace, ease,
and purpose, and sometimes it just takes us going lair
by layer. So you may have done a lot of
the work, you know, may know where all those wounds are.

(14:25):
You may have had some you know, really impactful, beautiful
self help books that have brought you a lot of
depth and release, or you may have really already deeply
learned about certain aspects of yourself through therapy or through
different processes or coaches. But even in all that, you're
not necessarily experiencing the changes that you may have hoped

(14:46):
for in your day to day life and relationships. That happens,
that's the first phase of healing. You get awareness, But
awareness is very different than true embodiment and embodyment is
when you live what you say and that is reflected
back to you. So it's not just that you're showing

(15:08):
up as the bigger person in relationships, but you come
into a place where you are transcending the need and
the desire and the force within which you're doing that,
and the relationships around you are actually reflecting back to you,
to your truth. So it's not as hard, it's not
as tough. You're not being the bigger person. You are

(15:28):
leading by example, but now the people around you are
kind of echoing that as well. That's what it is
to embody wisdom, right, not just advice for others or
knowledge about a subject. But to embody wisdom means that
you are showing up in your authentic power in a
way that you don't have to yell or announce out

(15:49):
loud for others to know who you are. The proof
is in each movement and each moment of your life.
If you're at a place where you're feeling that you're
yourself is still suffering a little bit or struggling, this
book is for you. For those that are overwhelmed or
even as I was haunted by unresolved trauma, or feel

(16:13):
stagnant in your personal growth. This book is providing accessible
strategies and practices to advance and fortify your soul, To
advance and fortify the transformation that lets you live the
truth of what you're thinking. It lets you feel the
truth of what you're thinking. It's about expanding your emotional

(16:35):
resilience and inviting in a new depth that creates a
foundation for self mastery. This book is for people who
live in their heads, who may be their only real
ally throughout most of their lives. You're your own advice giver.

(16:56):
This is a way to get out of that loop
and begin crafting new experiences and creating space for new thoughts.
So when you're ready for your life experiences and the
way that you interact with your world to change, there
are practices in this book that can really support that
deeper intention that you have for yourself. We go even

(17:19):
deeper in a lot of the subjects that I have
been exploring on this podcast, and we teach some concepts
and some understandings in multiple ways so that we can
allow them to sink into our bodies and sink into
our lives in any of the areas that we are
currently affected. So the book is taught from that very

(17:39):
holistic view, which is mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual. However,
we are also adding in a new depth of having
those experiences with ourselves, and that's their providing accessible strategies
for personal growth and well being with three of the
biggest tools at the forefront. These are the tools that

(18:00):
take you to the next level. Self mastery, devotion, and wisdom.
Those are the three key components that are at the
forefront of how to best utilize this book. It's about
coming into deeper devotion of your life, of your practices,
of your rituals, and living in devotion to yourself and
who you want to be and to those you love,

(18:22):
living in devotion to your service, to the work you're
here to do, to your purpose, and also diving into
the truth of what it is to be in self mastery.
Self mastery requires devotion, it requires joyful discipline, It requires
a bigger understanding of why you're here and what you

(18:43):
want to do while you're here. And then we have
the beauty of wisdom, which is really the truth of
how your experiences have or have not allowed you to
grow in your life and take up space in the
work you do, in your relationships with others, and in

(19:04):
the way that you view yourself. My book is a
deep dive for people that are already steeped in some
understanding of wellness of wellbeing, but are feeling stuck or
simply needing a companion to be in it with them.
You need someone there with you as you navigate your

(19:25):
own strength, your own wisdom, your own resilience. This book
is really about moving beyond that threshold of self help,
to tune into your body, to tune into your mind,
to tune into your spirit, to heighten and grow your intuition.
Each person that listens to this show has deep and

(19:47):
profound intuition, has a sense, has an understanding of what
is going on in the world, in yourself, in your
body with others. Now, depending on where you are in
your journey, you might identify without really strongly like yeah,
I'd be knowing, or I feel the moon, that full moon,
that new moon when it's out, or maybe something that

(20:09):
there is still fear around embracing. But wherever you are
in your journey with how you access your gifts and
how you access your intuition, I wrote this book in
a way that is really intended to help you explore
that with greater depth andies and to really help you
maximize the energetic potential of your life, to maximize the

(20:31):
energetic potential of your unique gifts. What you came to
this earth to do and to be and to serve
with And if you're somebody that feels really good about
how you're showing up right now in the world like
you may have access that layer of purpose, you may
have had a beautiful understanding of how God uniquely uses you,

(20:52):
how the world, how the universe best utilizes your gifts.
Then this book is going to take it to the
next level. I share a lot of stories of clients
that I work with and ways that we transcended some limitations.
I'm really blessed to work with so many people that

(21:13):
I deeply respect and have a lot of reverence for
people that are doing beautiful, impactful and influential work in
the world. And sometimes it's as simple as clearing that
lens of perception so that anything even the smallest, teeny
tiny things that are in the way from the utmost

(21:36):
luminosity of your purpose, the full radiance of the light
you're here to share. Getting that out of the way,
cleansing that lens, getting out those fine particles and residues.
This is the book of refinement. So if you find
yourself doing the work that you know you're being called
to do and becoming who you are called to become,

(21:57):
then this is the book that takes you specifically deeper
in mastery. And that's why I say that this book
beautifully grows with you because if you're new on your journey,
it's giving the real steps, it's giving the how to
to get to that next level so that your life
experiences start matching up with the truth of who you

(22:18):
know yourself to be. And it's a book that you
can continue to refer to over time. If you're at
maybe a different level of your journey where you have
learned some of the lessoned, or if you've unlocked some
of the patterns, then this is your book of chiseling
and refinement. It is the iron that sharpens the iron.
It's the way to make that light brighter, make the
work deeper, and ideally, hopefully most especially, make the goodness

(22:45):
that you receive bigger, more expansive, let it flow deeper
in your cells in a way that you can really
trust and know and derive pleasure, rest, release grace from
So get out of your head, stop running those loops
of thought, get into your body, and let yourself feel

(23:10):
and really express with that body the changes that you
have accomplished. Embodiment requires taking that elevator down from the
head into the heart and really balancing and harmonizing all
of one's experiences. It's about fortifying the spirit, using the

(23:31):
tiny joys to feel the rest and the release that
you deserve in the moments of challenge to keep you going,
and then tools of processing those times of challenge so
that you can move out of them with more urgency,
with more grace, and a lot more ease. You did
not have to heal through pain. There are ways to

(23:51):
heal through pleasure, through joy, through service, and that's what
we really dive deeply into in this book, most especially
growing the courage and the capacity and the resilience to
have reverence for your grief and to interact with it
as if it is a master teacher, because it is

(24:17):
utilizing and emphasizing your power of intention and devotional practice.
So let me say this really, really, really loud and clear,
and as you know from listening to this show, we
dive into this a lot. You don't need another guru,
you don't need another person that you're trying to be.

(24:38):
You do not need to be influenced, you don't need
another inspiring person to project yourself onto. You don't need
to worship anything in this world or of this world.
This is about getting into your body and your life
and honoring the wisdom that you have already gleaned, and

(25:02):
creating better choices and better systems so that you can
live it for yourself. You are the inspiring person that
you've been waiting for. And if you've ever been inspired
by me or this show, I am so profoundly grateful,
and that is a gift God has given me to share. However,
this book is about diving into how inspiring you are,

(25:26):
how wise you are, how masterful you can be, and
giving the steps and the process to honor that and
see that in yourself, Because in this book are the
steps and the processes and the stories of how I
did that for myself so that I could turn on
that inner oven that I talk about so often, so

(25:47):
that I could find the way to inspire myself and
be on my own vision board each day. Because I'm
living my unique journey and you have your unique journey
that is so gorgeously bespoke to what you are here
to do. There is no comparison, there's no competition. It's

(26:08):
about unlocking the best that's in you through the tools
and practices that have been tested over time deeply well.
So when it comes to the work you don't have
to do it alone. You don't have to wait for
everything to be perfect. You can begin now, and you

(26:32):
can heal your life while you are living it fully.
And know that the work that we do on ourselves,
it's our life's work. It's meant to take our whole lives.
Go slow, move beautifully, and slowly and intentionally as you

(26:54):
do this work in your own time. We're blending mindful awareness, meditation,
somatic process into a very comprehensive framework for sustained healing
on multiple levels in your life. We're going to move
beyond old blocks. We're going to identify patterns and transcend them.
We're going to release wounds and release trauma into sustainable

(27:17):
and authentic practices that will nurture you mind, body, and
spirit in a very actionable, yet easeful way. I really, really,
really really loved writing this book. I had an incredible
team that really supported me as part of this process.

(27:37):
My publisher as my editor was a dream to work with,
and even the design of this cover. It was so
important for me to share this cover in this way.
As listeners of this show, you know, or if you
follow me on Instagram, you know how your girl feels
about the sun. I love the sun ever since I
was a little girl. I just have so many core

(27:58):
memories of the fe of sunlight on my skin or
the feeling of the sun just allowing me to feel
closer to God because I could feel the rays on
my heart ist days, I seek the sun. On my
happiest days, I seek the sun. So including this ancient healer,

(28:18):
this life giving force in the cover was really really
important to me, and I just love how it turned out.
The color I chose orange. This color is representative of
two things that are really deep for me. One, orange
is the color of the sacral chakra, so right underneath
your navel, where your womb space would be. It's the

(28:41):
place of sacred creativity, of birthing not just children, but ideas, love, life,
any creation. It's the space that your intuition really resides
right your gut, instinct or when you feel that knowing
it hits you here. And the color for that that's
evocative of that space is orange. Also, I love astrology

(29:06):
and color strology, which is a practice of finding the
color that most resonates with your soul based on your birthday.
And my color is this exact color that we used
for the book brandied Melon Orange. So bringing that all together,

(29:28):
Jess felt so important. So me, I'm really excited on
the front cover to share that my brother, my dear
friend of nearly twenty years, Charlemagne the God did me
the honor. Leonard Mcalvey did me the honor of writing
the ford to my book. Every time I've read it,

(29:48):
I cry and I text him and I'm like, thank
you so much. I love it. I love you. But
it's deep, it's profound, it is special, and he shares
some really special moments of the relationship between he and
I over the last nearly twenty years and things we've
done together and ways we've learned and grown. And having

(30:11):
that in the forward it felt like was the perfect,
perfect bookend to a lot of the experiences that I
explore within this book and on the back cover. I'm
just so grateful and blessed to have some incredible, real
friends and real people that I admire and love share

(30:33):
their thoughts who have read the book. I want to
say a huge thank you to my friends, like one
of my life's greatest mentors, doctor Deepak Chopra, Elizabeth Lesser,
who I talk about her book broken opened so often.
It meant the world to me, she shared on the
back cover. My sister Leila Delia Nedra Towab shared on

(30:56):
the cover just so much love and respect for her
in her work. My brother and dear friend Andre three thousand,
and my dear friend Big Sean. I'm so grateful for
all the words that they shared and added on the
cover and the expressions they have about these pages. And

(31:17):
I can't wait to get into your hands. So the
publishers tell you you got to push pre orders, So
I'm pushing my pre orders, y'all. It is officially available
for pre order now. My deepest intention with this work
is that it touches and blesses your life in a
way that feels supportive to you, in a way that

(31:37):
feels necessary for your soul. It is my dream and
my core, deepest desire that this book helps set you
free in all the ways that you're meant to be free,
so that you can be who you actually are with
grace and ease and love and purpose and impact and influence.

my work has ever meant anything to you, if there's
ever been a word on this show or on my
Instagram or in person. I would like to ask that
you buy a few copies, if that's possible for you
in this moment, financially, and give them to people, share
them with people, have a few on stock at the

This book is for you. So you can get it

available as an audiobook. Two. I hope you'll do it

(33:04):
both ways, because I always like to have a physical
copy of something in my hand so I can write
in it. But then I like hearing people's voices too,
and hearing them kind of invoke and express through their language,
bring their work to life, I should say so. I
hope you'll enjoy it in whatever way feels best for you.

I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
