Man, we got so many different personalities, but it all
comes together on the field. I say, Steph, you know
that's the vet, you know, and he don't seen it all,
so he definitely he don't let nothing slide.
Speaker 3 (00:15):
You know. That's what we needed in that room.
Speaker 4 (00:18):

Speaker 5 (01:07):
Dudes on Dudes is a production of iHeartRadio we're here
in the dunk and Nuthouse in Boston. How cool is this?
I mean, there's just graffiti of dunking all over the place,
there's donuts all over the place, there's dunking coffee, just
energizing us throughout the whole day, Jules, how.
Speaker 4 (01:26):
Awesome is it? It's pretty awesome. We also got to
shout out the people behind the camera. The house has
been getting so many compliments with all the insane artistry
things going on. I mean, they redid a bunch of
these paintings to look like you and I and these
movie posters and this. It's just been a really fun experience.
I feel pretty dunking up and uh, you know, there's
(01:48):
dunkin everywhere, and.
Speaker 5 (01:49):
We're getting tons of interviews, you know, throughout the whole week,
getting ready for the live show, capturing tons of great
content as well. And the coolest part of the house
I think is just how many, just how just many
games are set up around here. I'm an activity guy.
Big hockey shot, there's pop a shot. There's swimming if
(02:11):
you like to swim, there's darts, there's Spin the Wheel.
You ever play Spin the bottle, But this is Spin
the wheel.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
As Terry Bradshaw said he used to play with his aunt.
Speaker 4 (02:23):
Remember Terry said that on TV he goes he's like
playing spin the bottle of mine.
Speaker 5 (02:29):
I don't recall him saying that.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
I think he said that.
Speaker 5 (02:33):
I didn't see that one.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
I saw it and then Michael looked at him and like,
what the hell?
Speaker 5 (02:38):
And by the way, the live show is tonight, ladies
and gentlemen, if you're in Boston, you better be at
the MGM Music Hall at eight pm. Sharp, get rowdy,
get loud, ask us questions. Is gonna be a good
all time.
Speaker 4 (02:54):
It's gonna be insane, It's gonna be fun, It's gonna
there's there's a lot of surprises.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
I got a lot of a lot of a lot
of presents. I feel like Chris Kringle over here.
Speaker 5 (03:04):
And I feel like Pringle Pringle Andy. And you guys
are gonna want to bite me, pop me. You're gota
keep going.
Speaker 4 (03:13):
Now it's time for Donut Dudes, presented by Duncan Julian
This Dude. This is the segment where we determine on
what kind of donut each dude is our guest represents.
But today I think we're gonna see what represents us.
So let's let's get the box of donuts.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
Let's get the box duncans.
Speaker 5 (03:34):
So, so you and I are going to determine what
type of donut we are? We're what type of dunkin
donut we are?
Speaker 1 (03:39):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (03:39):
Well, I already feel like I already know. I know
who you and I am. I mean a donut that
has a lot of different flavors for you, man, because
you bring a lot of flavor to the table.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
I know one that's for you.
Speaker 5 (03:51):
What's that?
Speaker 1 (03:52):
I like the glaystick for you?
Speaker 5 (03:53):
Yeah, the big hit glaze stick. Yeah, I give you
that it is. That's big. That's the girl glazed up
because I am tasty. But it's like I'm just like
an original. It's not like I have tons of flavor.
I'm just like Laslo flavor. I'm well put together. Look
at that bad boy and it's like it just looks great,
Like it looks different and I look different.
Speaker 1 (04:14):
Thanks? Thanks?
Speaker 4 (04:15):
What do we think I am? I think it's a
little mind's a little different. That's a little underappreciated. You're
kind of like a.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
Little underappreciated, you know, not not flashy.
Speaker 5 (04:26):
Maybe you're definitely I said, your variety of flavor, something
with sprinkles on it, then a lot of color, sprinkle sprinkles.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
But I'm kind of leaning maple maple.
Speaker 5 (04:39):
Why would you be a map.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
Because the maple doesn't get the respect. Oh the respect.
Oh you're going that route, you know. Maybe the maple's
kind of doggy. You know who eats the maple? The
weird guy, the weird guy. I'm the weird guy. Maybe
maybe you're.
Speaker 5 (04:55):
Not really a weird guy. No, you're you're a straight shooter.
Weird guys are are weird and you're not weird. Yeah,
I like to eat the maple. But maybe I am
just a chuck. You're not a French coral. Or maybe
you're like the jelly donut, you know, because everyone just
thinks it's just a donut and then they take a
point and they're like, whoo, there's jelly inside.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
I like that.
Speaker 5 (05:16):
Yeah, they just thought you were a quarterback. Oh you
were a wide receiver as well. Ladies and gentlemen, let
me let them over.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
I'm the jelly donut, but I'm gonna go.
Speaker 5 (05:23):
With the maple donut. You're the maple donut. I'll think underrated,
but brings the heat to the table when when needed
more than you think. M right. Well, before we talk
to Pop Douglass, we're going to run through our NFC predictions.
Last week with the AFC predictions. This week we're going
to do the NFC predictions. This was one of my
(05:45):
favorite episodes that we did last week, THEFC predictions, because
it's just fun to predict and then see if you
were right or wrong. But you know, by the end
of the year, and if you were right, you brag
about it. If you were wrong, you don't even bring
it up to anybody ever. I just think it's totally
awesome situation.
Speaker 6 (06:01):
Mm hm.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
So let's get into it.
Speaker 5 (06:02):
We are gonna run through each division and we will
say what we are most excited for him give a
hot take as well. We hot takes, hot takes, Hot takes.
People love how to hot take guy. Yeah, I'm I'm
about clicks and hot takes get clicked, So I'm a
hot take guy. Julian's not. He wants to, you know,
for real. And and who's gonna win it? Who's gonna
win the division as well? Uh So let's start off
(06:25):
with the NFC East. You got the Giants, Eagles, Dallas Cowboys,
Washington Commanders a strong division last year, the Cowboys disappointed.
But what are we most excited for?
Speaker 1 (06:34):
Dulan.
Speaker 4 (06:34):
I'm most excited to see Jaden Daniels in year two,
Like he had statistically the greatest rookie quarterback season in
the history of the game, took his team to the
NFC championship team to have four wins the year before,
and how is he gonna like, how is he gonna
top that?
Speaker 1 (06:54):
Because we saw CJ.
Speaker 4 (06:56):
Stroud kind of not necessarily take a step back, but
it wasn't as a productive his year as CJ. Stroudsbrook year.
We're gonna fall into that trap with Jayden Daniels. He
just got Terry McLaurin back, so that that makes me excited.
But I'm really excited to see the progression of Jadeen
Daniels with Cliff Kingsbury under Dan Quinn in the Capitol.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 5 (07:20):
I'm excited for Brian Daball to have a bounce back here.
They won three and fourteen last year for the New
York Giants. Dave All was my coach for three years
in New England. We won a Super Bowl. I'm a
big fan of his. So if he has a bounce
back yere, I will see that twinkle in his smile again.
I'll see that sparkle in his eyes again, and I'll
be very excited for him. Not necessarily for the Giants
(07:42):
because they beat the Patriots twice in Super Bowl. I'll
be excited for Brian Dable.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
No hot takes, I'll start it off.
Speaker 5 (07:49):
All right, let's hear your hot take. Even though you
don't like hot takes, but you want to start off,
you must have a hot take.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
Let's hear Cowboy finished last.
Speaker 5 (07:55):
Oh that's not even a hot take.
Speaker 3 (07:56):
That's a fact.
Speaker 5 (07:58):
Oh that's a hot take right there saying that's the fact.
All right, you got Cowboys finishing last. I mean I
can see it. I can see it. Why not? I mean,
tough division and Giants are I don't know.
Speaker 4 (08:08):
I think the Giants are sleeping. Giants are going to
be slept on. They have, like they have probably arguably
one of the best defensive lines in the game.
Speaker 5 (08:18):
My hot take. Oh man, it's hard because you kind
of in this division, you kind of see what you're
gonna get, you know, it's hard to kind of pick
a surprise here. Oh, hot take.
Speaker 1 (08:31):
Hot take.
Speaker 5 (08:33):
One of the quarterbacks will be traded on the New
York Giants roster. They got too many.
Speaker 4 (08:38):
I think didn't just want happen or no, didn't what's
his name, just get traded, you pick it. Yeah, that's
that's They're in the same situation. They got they got Dirk,
they got Jameis Winston, and they got the veto.
Speaker 5 (08:50):
I mean one of like I just got cut. Oh
he got caught, all right, they're going to go three.
They can't go three, not three. You can't go three vets.
So I think Jamis Winston may be traded throughout the
season if another player goes down.
Speaker 1 (09:03):
I like that. I like that. Who's gonna win it, Rob.
Speaker 5 (09:06):
I'm gonna go with the Philadelphia Eagles. They're two established.
They got, you know, a core that is just too unstoppable,
their defensive offensive line. You know, that's where you win
games is with the lion and they're just so established
on both sides there. So just the Eagles are gonna repeat.
Speaker 4 (09:22):
Yeah, I think the Eagles are gonna win it, but
I don't think it's gonna be easy for them. I
think the the departure of the of Kellen Moore. I mean,
how many offensive coordinators has Jalen Hurgs had?
Speaker 1 (09:35):
Like four?
Speaker 5 (09:36):
And it's not stopping them, I know.
Speaker 4 (09:38):
And they're but you know they're returning. I heard you
say in one of your interviews twenty one of twenty
two stars.
Speaker 5 (09:43):
Oh no, they had twenty one or twenty two starters
in the Super Bowl last year. They were healthy. Yeah,
like that's that's one of the main reasons to win
a Super Bowl. And whatever they're doing is working with
the training staff how we grow these players on the field.
Speaker 1 (09:57):
He's a monster. Let's move on, all right, Let's.
Speaker 5 (09:59):
Go NFC South. You got the Tampa Bay Bucks, Carolina Panthers.
This is one of the weakest divisions in football. You
got the New Orleans Saints, you got the Atlanta Falcons. Julis,
what are you most excited for on this one?
Speaker 1 (10:11):
I'm most excited. Well, I'm not excited for the Saints,
that's for sure.
Speaker 4 (10:18):
I'm excited for Baker. I'm excited for the Bucks. You know,
like they've kind of established something. Even when Tom and
you left the organization. You guys left like an imprint.
They kept it going and they're keeping it going. Can
they keep it going I think they're going to, but
I'm excited to see how that goes. They added a receiver,
(10:40):
what's his name.
Speaker 5 (10:42):
The first round pick. I don't know his name. We'll
just call him first round pick. We're not supposed to
know his name until he makes place, all right, we
first rounded a first round pick receiver.
Speaker 4 (10:53):
I think Godwin just got taken off the pup list.
Speaker 5 (10:55):
That's good.
Speaker 4 (10:57):
They got Evans, they got players. I'm a little curious
about Tunsul, but we'll see.
Speaker 5 (11:02):
I'm excited for Pennix Junior at the hell, you know,
for the Atlanta Falcons. Let's see what he can do
a lefty. He beat out a veteran player, and Kirk
Cousins so excited to see what he can do and
if he can get Atlanta over that hump of just
being very average. And yeah, we'll see if that can happen.
I mean, this is the vision to you know, do
(11:24):
it in you know, as a first year starter. So
we will see. What's your hot take?
Speaker 1 (11:29):
Hot take? Her hot take is Kirk kirk Cousins plays starts.
I like that hot take for.
Speaker 4 (11:38):
The Atlanta Falcons at some point this season, is it
because of injury?
Speaker 1 (11:42):
I don't know, or I don't know.
Speaker 5 (11:44):
He just starts and at some point does it have
to be for the Falcons?
Speaker 1 (11:48):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (11:48):
Okay, I don't know that's a hot take. I don't
know that's a hot take.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
It's kind of a half take. But yeah, okay, what's
your hot take?
Speaker 5 (11:57):
My hot take is New Orleans Saints are just gonna
be a quarterback mess the whole entire season.
Speaker 1 (12:03):
I think that's just the fact.
Speaker 5 (12:05):
Yep. Yeah, And who's gonna win it. I'm gonna go
with the Tampa Bay Bucks to established. They got too
many vets on the team that been there. They got
corp of players, they got a nucleus, and when you
have a nucleus, you're gonna be good every single year.
And they're gonna win the division and go to the playoffs.
Speaker 4 (12:21):
You know, we love Jimmy neutron type guys, and they
if they have nucleus, I'm gonna go with your word
on that organization you played there.
Speaker 1 (12:27):
I'm going Tampa Bay Bucks as well.
Speaker 5 (12:29):
They do. They got nucleus in the front office, they
got nucleus on the field, Levante David on defense, Vita
Villa and on the defensive line, the safety the Winfield
junior played for the Buffalo Bills going up.
Speaker 1 (12:45):
Kid.
Speaker 5 (12:45):
The nucleus is legit on defensive side and off inside
of the ball for Tampa. That's why they're gonna win.
Speaker 4 (12:51):
They're gonna win NFC North. This is the Green Bay Packers,
the Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, and those Chicago Bears. The
thing that you are most excited for, Roberto.
Speaker 5 (13:04):
I'm excited for this Ben Johnson guy.
Speaker 1 (13:06):
Oh, that's exciting.
Speaker 3 (13:07):
Yes.
Speaker 5 (13:08):
And he left, you know, a team in the same
division to go be the head coach for the Chicago Bears.
Speaker 1 (13:14):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (13:15):
And he's an offensive genius, that's what they say. And
I'm not excited to see what type of head coach
he is. I'm just excited to see what he does
for the offense for the Chicago Bears and Caleb Williams.
So let's see if he's really really that Goodause Caleb
Williams thrives this year, then that means Ben Johnson's a
real deal.
Speaker 1 (13:33):
Real deal. I'm excited for that too.
Speaker 4 (13:35):
I think what I'm most excited for, though, I'm excited
for those Detroit Lions. Man, We've been talking about the
Detroit Lions for like the last three years of being
one of the best teams.
Speaker 1 (13:47):
You know, they had the one seed. Were they one
seed last year? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (13:50):
They were the one seed last year. You know, they'd
lose both of their offense and defensive coordinators to getting
head coaching jobs, Aaron Glenn and Ben jons and who
went over to Chicago. So how are they gonna deal
with that? We talk about nucleus guys. It seems like
their whole team's new Kuless guys. You know, they've drafted
a lot of their guys. They've brought guys in like
Jared Goff that have resparked their career. They have an
(14:15):
underdog mentality. Even though they won the one seed last year.
A lot of people aren't talking about them this year.
Speaker 1 (14:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (14:20):
I mean they just had so many injuries. Like I said, defense,
but earlier, Philadelphia Eagles had twenty one of their twenty
two starters from beginning of the year. That's the main
reason why you win Super Bowl. I mean, what Lions
have fourteen starters out going into the playoffs. I are, yeah,
and you can't win no matter what. But just shows
how good they're coaching was that they still dominated throughout
the whole season. And my hot take is that Minnesota
(14:42):
is going to fall off this year. They fell off
in the playoffs last year, and that's just going to continue.
A quarterback that's just brand new. You can be high
on them, but he's brand new, never played a game
in the NFL. Just they're gonna fall off. They're gonna
win like seven games this year.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
I mean, koc got he's great.
Speaker 5 (14:59):
But that's my hot take.
Speaker 1 (15:01):
That's a good hot take.
Speaker 5 (15:02):
That's just a hot take.
Speaker 1 (15:03):
I know. Well, my hot take is what is my
hot take? Let me think I just threw you off.
He threw me off off.
Speaker 5 (15:12):
Well, that's that's what a hot take is supposed to do.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
My hot take is Green Bay Packers aren't making the playoffs.
Speaker 5 (15:19):
What now I'm looking at you like you're an idiot.
I like these hot takes.
Speaker 4 (15:23):
We got we got young team. We always talk, oh
they're so young. There's I don't know, man, they they
just it doesn't seem like they when they're when they're
when they're clicking, it feels like backyard football to me
sometimes even you know what I mean, Like you don't
really have consistent methodical long drives. I love Brandon Jacobs.
(15:43):
I love the whole, but I don't know, man, I
know I love Golden. They drafted Golden in the first round.
He's gonna be a really good receiver. But maybe they
take a step back to Green Bay Packers.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
We'll see.
Speaker 5 (15:53):
I know what you mean. If we're both right on
our hot takes on Detroit and Chicago will be going
through the playoffs or only one Detroit. But I feel
like if those two tank Chicago's.
Speaker 1 (16:04):
What if they all just beat each other up, then.
Speaker 5 (16:07):
They're all bullies. They're bowling each other.
Speaker 1 (16:11):
That's that's a hot take. Who's gonna win it?
Speaker 5 (16:13):
Detroit Lions, they're too good. They got everyone coming back
that watch.
Speaker 4 (16:18):
Green Bay's gonna end up winning the division. My hot
take is they don't even make the fucking playoffs. I'm
going with the Troit Lions as well. I think they
have just too many good players and they have they
have experience on how to win now exactly. You know
NFC West Robbie, he's in this division.
Speaker 5 (16:34):
Yeah, we got the l A Rams, We got the
Seattle Seahawk, San Francisco forty nine ers big disappointment last year. Uh,
and then we got the aerosone Cardinals. Oh am, I
already throwing out hot takes by saying biggest disappointments. Oh, yes,
I am, because that's what we do here. We're hot takers.
What's our most exciting thing? Oh, the most exciting thing
I'm excited for in this division? Oh what we got?
(16:59):
I'm excited for to see what Devonte Adams can do
with Matthew Stafford. I mean, who doesn't love a connection.
That's what brings fans into the stadiums. And you got
one of the best receivers in the game, Devonte Adams
and the both Vets, and Matthew Stafford one of the
best quarterbacks in the game as well. I want to
see that connection and see what they can do.
Speaker 1 (17:19):
You know, hopefully Stafford's throwing You got that disc that
this thing's scary.
Speaker 5 (17:25):
Now, he should come hang out with us. You just
got some surgery on your disc in your neck. I
had three surgeries on my disc. He's a quarterback, though,
suck it out.
Speaker 1 (17:32):
Oh my gosh, Robby, I'm most excited for.
Speaker 4 (17:39):
Honestly, I'm just most I'm most excited to see. I
think this is like the most even division, low key,
I think I think the Cardinals are going to be
better than what people think. Gannon has used his whole
draft to draft defensive guys. He's a really good defensive coach.
And Kyler Murray always has that sneaky he's ikey good.
(18:01):
Like you could say what you want to say about
Kyler Murray, but the guy. I mean, they went like
nine to OHO three years ago with Cliff Kingsbury.
Speaker 1 (18:09):
They've had winning.
Speaker 4 (18:09):
Football in in uh Arizona, and I just think I
like I like Gannon, I like the coach. I think
I'm excited to see what the Cardinals do this year
because I think this is a muddier division than what
people think San Francisco. They don't I don't know who's
gonna play receiver for them. They have a lot of
(18:30):
like question marks there. We don't know what their defense
is gonna do. They lost Green Lawn and Hufonga. I
know they brought in Sallas, but we'll see St. Seattle.
Like I've been hearing nothing but great things out of
their camp about Sam Donald and McDonald's gonna have that
defense rock and they got a lot of great players
they have in Sane Corners and then La You can
never turn your back on Sean McVay. But if Matthew
(18:50):
Stafford doesn't play, I mean, what Jimmy G.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
Jimmy G.
Speaker 5 (18:57):
We've got that offense under the rap right now? What
do you mean he does? He's doing well in training camp.
Sports are saying Jimmy G. I mean, he's got a
lot of great players around him. He does great offense.
Mcva I love Jimmy G. When Matthew Stafford's coming to play.
If you just need Jimmy G for a game or two,
that's fine, he can do that. But Matthew Stafford is
going to be playing, dude, He's got to be playing.
(19:18):
Like bro.
Speaker 1 (19:19):
He's back.
Speaker 5 (19:21):
So what you can fix that back?
Speaker 1 (19:24):
You're the back expert. Is it his arm? No? But
that baying.
Speaker 5 (19:30):
But I think it's lower back. If it was not,
then yes, it affect his arm.
Speaker 1 (19:34):
What about this able to throw your hips through though?
Speaker 5 (19:37):
Yeah, he's got to fix that back, get the shot,
get some treatment around it, loosen up all the muscles,
do all the rehab and you'll be back. I wonder
how he popped that disc.
Speaker 4 (19:48):
I know he's had a team, he's had he's had
disc problems a lot of time. He's had a lot
of back problems getting old.
Speaker 5 (19:55):
Well I probably know source, so thatll give out how
he injured his back. But we'll just keep it there.
Who save it for the hot take?
Speaker 1 (20:06):
What's your hot take?
Speaker 5 (20:07):
Okay? Ah man uh hot take? Hot take?
Speaker 1 (20:12):
Oh?
Speaker 5 (20:13):
The San Francisco forty nine ers stay where they were
last year, bottom of the pack, six seven, maybe eight wins.
They didn't really do anything this offseason upgrade, They paid
Brock Party, they had to get rid of Deebo Samuels
because the salary cap was just getting so out of control.
So my hot take is that they you know, they
look good on paper, but they don't perform that Well,
(20:35):
you know, this is fun.
Speaker 1 (20:37):
I don't know if that's a hot take.
Speaker 5 (20:39):
Well, you know something, what you're the most excited for
was a freaking hot take. What the Cardinals showing up?
That's a hot take. That's not being excited for you.
I'm just saying, like, no one's ever excited for the Cardinals.
You put them in an exciting.
Speaker 4 (20:53):
Who in this division is good enough to just sweep
the Cardinals?
Speaker 1 (20:58):
Who?
Speaker 5 (20:59):
The Rams?
Speaker 1 (21:01):
They split every year and they split last year.
Speaker 5 (21:05):
And that's all.
Speaker 4 (21:06):
That's what I mean. It's a lot closer than you think.
And they have good players. I mean, you see Marvin
Harrison Junior. He looks like fucking oh Jack.
Speaker 5 (21:16):
I do like him. Maybe he's too Jack though I
don't know. Yeah to Jack, it's rare when you're two Jack.
The only player that ever ever like Like, I went
against him because saying he was too Jack. But what
is it when I go against someone and he outperforms
what I say?
Speaker 1 (21:34):
Like? What? Like?
Speaker 5 (21:35):
What am I trying to get to? Come on?
Speaker 1 (21:40):
Like?
Speaker 5 (21:40):
Okay, it's DK Metcalf. I said he's too Jack to
be good and he oh, he proved me wrong. He
proved me wrong. That's what I was going for. DK
Metcalf truly proved me wrong. I was like, that dude
is so jacked, how are you gonna be able to
come in and out of breaks? You know, tightness? And
he truly proved me wrong. And I'm a huge fan
of him now because of that. So, but is Marran
(22:01):
Harrison Junior to Jacks? His dad wasn't jacked?
Speaker 1 (22:04):
Dad was no, but he clearly got didn't get his dad.
His dad's like, but he's young to be that.
Speaker 5 (22:10):
He's young enough to be that Jack. Dude, he looks jacked,
but he's gonna be great.
Speaker 1 (22:14):
I ain't going.
Speaker 5 (22:14):
I ain't going. I ain't going against him.
Speaker 1 (22:16):
He's gonna be great. He's gonna be Yeah. My hot
take is I think Seattle's making the playoffs? Is that
a hot take?
Speaker 3 (22:25):
Is it?
Speaker 1 (22:26):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (22:26):
They almost made the playoffs last year, did they? Well,
Seattle makes the playoffs, and my hot take's gonna stay
perfect because then that means Rams are making playoffs in
San Franz, doesn't not Three teams this year they beat up.
Speaker 4 (22:38):
And I'm excited for the Cardinals. I didn't say they
were gonna like win the division.
Speaker 5 (22:41):
Oh you're just excited for him.
Speaker 1 (22:42):
I'm excited for them. Oh, I'm not. Who's gonna win it?
Speaker 5 (22:50):
I like battling. Battling might be the funniest thing of
all time. Like that's why you always fought people on
the field. I understand talking shit who people? Yeah, because
I got you go. It was fun. Yeah, dang it,
I was an idiot. I never fought anyone. You people
elbowed and it was fun. All Right, who's gonna win?
(23:11):
I'm going with the Los Angeles Rams? Enough said, I
don't need to explain my decision.
Speaker 1 (23:19):
I'm going to Seattle Seahawks. Let's get into the chills, dude.
Speaker 4 (23:22):
The week brought to you by our favorite beer corps
Light get corps like delivered straight to your door. Visit
corslight dot com, slash dudes, and celebrate responsibly.
Speaker 1 (23:31):
Rob What are we doing?
Speaker 3 (23:32):
Ah?
Speaker 5 (23:32):
You know it may be preseason, but it's never too
early for some trophy talk. Baby, give me that beer.
What all these hot takes? I want my hot takes
to even elevate even more. So we're gonna get a
little tipsy for it.
Speaker 4 (23:46):
So we're gonna make our picks for the rest of
the big awards, who we think will win the NFC
and who we think is win it all.
Speaker 5 (23:53):
Yeah, so let's get into it.
Speaker 1 (23:54):
Let's get into it.
Speaker 5 (23:55):
So, so last week we said the Bills will win
the AFC NBA champions.
Speaker 1 (23:59):
I'm thinking it's so hard.
Speaker 3 (24:01):
You know.
Speaker 4 (24:02):
That's why I hate making predictions early on in the
fucking season, Like a week late. We don't even know
how the rosters are right now. They't even cut down
the goddamn fat.
Speaker 5 (24:12):
But what's also cool is that everyone forgets what your
prediction is as well, Like for anyone who makes a prediction, Like,
I don't care who you are. If you're Adam Scheffner,
everyone forgets what your prediction was.
Speaker 4 (24:22):
We all don't forget Peter Schragers because he's always right
with his predictions.
Speaker 5 (24:26):
Damn ass, Well, you got to be right in in
order to be remembered in prediction.
Speaker 1 (24:30):
My guy's been right a lot.
Speaker 5 (24:31):
But that's what's cool. So you could be wrong so
much and everyone will forget. But if you're right, so
just always take your shot.
Speaker 1 (24:37):
Take your shot.
Speaker 5 (24:38):
Yeah, it's like Wayne Gretzky, you miss one shots, you
don't take unless if that was Michael Jordan's here was
one of them. I think it was Wayne Gretzky, right.
Speaker 1 (24:49):
One of them. They're both. I think it's pretty in there.
Speaker 5 (24:53):
Yeah, that was both of them.
Speaker 1 (24:54):
Michael Scott Coach of the Year. Who is it gonna be?
Speaker 5 (24:58):
We got some favorites, Mike Rabel, Ben Benjamin Hughes, Johnson,
Jonathan I have a huge cannon, Dave Kanalis and Sean
Peyton faces.
Speaker 4 (25:10):
Sean Payton faces like the like the like Peyton like Peyton.
Speaker 5 (25:14):
Yeah, exactly, just like that, because do you know what
I was thinking?
Speaker 1 (25:19):
Commercial?
Speaker 5 (25:20):
Yeah, I mean they both played in Denver at one point. Yeah,
kind of marketing coach in Denver.
Speaker 1 (25:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (25:25):
So I'm gonna go with Sean Payton.
Speaker 6 (25:27):
You're going Sean Payton.
Speaker 1 (25:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (25:29):
I love that quarterback that they have, and Sean Payton's
just been around, knows how to coach the game of football.
He freaking went to the playoffs with eighty million dollars
off of the salary cap.
Speaker 1 (25:39):
I'm going with Sean Payne.
Speaker 4 (25:41):
That's that's that's a great pick. That's a great pick.
I'm gonna go with Rabes. He's already been a Coach
of the Year too. I think hasn't he so be
a two time like Kevin Stefanski Potentially? I mean, if
if the Patriots make the playoffs, they're gonna he's gonna
be Coach of the Year.
Speaker 5 (25:56):
Uh not if Sean Payton wins every game, but he.
Speaker 1 (26:00):
You know, good hot take MVP.
Speaker 3 (26:05):
Oh.
Speaker 5 (26:05):
I was just on the k Adams Show earlier and
I had to do some futures pick and who was
going to be the MVP? I said, Joe Burrow. And
why Joe Burrow? I mean, possibly, if you look at
the stats last year, he should have won MVP. But
you're not gonna win MVP unless if you go to
the playoffs at least, And if you're not gonna go
to the playoffs and win MVP, you better have like
thirty more touchdowns thrown than the next guy. So that's
(26:28):
why he didn't get last year. But this year, I
feel like they'll have a fast start finally. I mean,
that's what they're emphasizing. And if they do that and
you got Jamar Chase who looks absolutely freaky, and Studeley
and Dougley all combined, he might be the first one
that could fit all three at once. Joe Burrow will.
Speaker 1 (26:46):
Win, Jayden Daniels going Jade and Daniels going with I'm
going with the dark horse.
Speaker 4 (26:51):
Okay, he's gonna be the future. This this, this whole thing.
He's one of the futures. Had the best rookie year
of all time. Him, mean, Cliff Kingsbury. With a complete
year under their belt, another off season together, how many
wrinkles are going to be in there. Terry McLaurin coming
late to camp worries me a little. But once you
have that chemistry that they've had, I mean, Terry McLaurin,
what do you have eleven touchdowns last year. You had
(27:14):
eleven touchdowns last year. I don't think they need to
have They don't even need to practice those two. So
I'm going Jayden Daniels.
Speaker 5 (27:19):
I love this shit man, sipping my cores light, just
throwing out hot. This is what I live for. Hot
freaking takes, hot, take baby, hot takes picks, all that
good old stuff. This is fun. Now I know why
analysts and these experts all do it. Yeah, so called
I guess we're so called experts now, I mean we
went through it also, we are experts. Yeah, we are experts,
(27:42):
all right. NFC Regular season champion. I'm going with the
Detroit Lions. I love what the Lions are doing. Dan Campbell,
Jared Goff. I'm just hoping that they stay healthy this year.
And Aiden Hutchinson's an absolute savage. It was freaking crazy.
This is how crazy is he thought he was. They
Lions went to the Super Bowl. He thought he was
gonna play like.
Speaker 1 (28:02):
They said he could have been. No, he could have
said he could have played.
Speaker 5 (28:05):
They want to have played it.
Speaker 1 (28:06):
They said he could off his mentality.
Speaker 5 (28:08):
I love where it's had zat.
Speaker 1 (28:09):
I heard that he could have played.
Speaker 5 (28:11):
Yeah, and they could have made the Super Bowl and
they didn't.
Speaker 1 (28:13):
But he could have played.
Speaker 4 (28:14):
I like that pick, Brob, I like that pick, but
it's not going to stand a chance against the Philadelphia
Eagles in my pick.
Speaker 1 (28:21):
What are you kidding me?
Speaker 3 (28:21):
Bro?
Speaker 1 (28:22):
Oh shit?
Speaker 5 (28:22):
The Eagles are in the NFC as well? Yeah, oh yeah,
damn they are.
Speaker 4 (28:27):
The Eagles, Broy. I don't know Howie Roseman. He does
so many gymnastics with the salary cap and free agent.
I just like what they got. They have so many
good football players they've so the line is a little
beat up though from what I heard, right, didn't they
they lost Jurgensen.
Speaker 5 (28:45):
I mean, I respect the Eagles to the max and
and I won't surprised me at all if they want
it all again, I'll be like, kudos to them. But
this is just my preseason pick.
Speaker 1 (28:55):
I mean, it's not a bad pick. Lines are fucking good.
Speaker 5 (28:58):
If the Lions don't win, everyone would forget it. Is
going to forget about this pick, all right? Yeah, the
Lion's way. I'm telling you, we're pulling this episode back up.
So who's playing for all the marbles?
Speaker 1 (29:07):
Well?
Speaker 5 (29:07):
Last week, you know we both said that Buffalo Bills
will be winning the AFC or no, we said the
Buffalo Bills will be the one seed. Actually last week,
well let's just say the Bills are making it all
the way.
Speaker 1 (29:19):
Let's just say that, right, Yeah, Bills for me as wells.
Speaker 5 (29:22):
But I got Bills versus Lions, and you got Bills
versus Eagles. I'm gonna pick the Lions winning it all.
You know, you know that's going to be tough for
you know, my hometown team. You know, the fans, they're
gonna be like, yeah, he's picking against us. Well, I'm
just psychic and I just know what's up. Like, It's
(29:43):
not like it's anything against the Bills. It's just I
think the Lions are gonna.
Speaker 1 (29:48):
Win it all this year.
Speaker 5 (29:48):
I mean, if they stay healthy, they got a great team,
and they got Dan Campbell, who's a maniac and I
love maniacs.
Speaker 4 (29:55):
Not so fast, new offense and new defensive coordinator over there, Rob,
I'm going to tell you right now, the Buffalo Bills
they're finally gonna get it done. They're gonna go out
and win the Super Bowl this year. They have the
offensive nucleus. Guys, I like the Coleman receiver, the Shakiir Kid, Cooks.
And then they have this guy named Josh Allen. I
(30:15):
don't know you ever heard of him. He's a monster
as you think.
Speaker 5 (30:17):
He's a nucleus guy, Josh Allen.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
Oh, he's the proton. Oh I like that.
Speaker 5 (30:23):
You just took this Jimmy neutron talked to a whole.
Speaker 1 (30:26):
He's a proton and you need other ones to magnitude.
I forget that.
Speaker 4 (30:29):
What about a neutron or something? But I'm let me
say this. Also the Bills, they got Milano back on defense,
they got they got Bosa, who's been beat up a
couple of years that has to prove something that he
can still play. They brought bos over there for January
to make sacks, so I'm hoping he stays healthy. I
(30:51):
think I think they have a good shot. They didn't
play very well in the preseason, but they didn't play anyone.
They had great practices in those joint practices I've heard.
Uh So I'm excited to see what these Buffalo Bills do.
Speaker 1 (31:03):
And I think they're gonna go out win the Super Bowl.
Speaker 5 (31:05):
Maybe we can have the buy ins whin Lions and
Bills combined. That would be a by you're laughing at
my buyings. I can tell you some history that I know, Juliet.
Back in World War Two, they combined the Steelers with
oh what team was it again? I know they got
combined Ali Roseman with oh with the Eagles. I think
(31:28):
they were called like the the Steegles Steegles nation. So
maybe if World War four happens with three three, I mean,
I feel like this world's on its way sometimes hope not.
But all for the Bills and Detroit are gonna combine
since they're both bordering with Canada, They'll be like, oh,
(31:50):
that's easy, we can we can have a strong border.
Let's create the buy ins and when win the Super Bowl, Well,
what if.
Speaker 4 (31:57):
The Bills and the Lions play in the Super Bowl?
Then that would be like a Canadian ish type.
Speaker 5 (32:04):
Super Bowl, and then we can expand it.
Speaker 4 (32:07):
They both touched that border, and then we can expandin's
the only place where Canada is south of it and Rogers.
Speaker 5 (32:13):
Godalla's brain will go off with an idea, Oh my gosh,
now we can have a team in Canada and the
salary cap can keep going up.
Speaker 1 (32:19):
And then we'll go to the Europe. Yeah, the Europe.
Speaker 6 (32:23):
And then Australia and then and then.
Speaker 1 (32:26):
In Asia and then Japan and then the finally Antarctica,
Antarctica Ice Bowl.
Speaker 4 (32:33):
And that was the chills dude of the week thanks
to our favorite beer corps like e Coers like delivered
straight through your door, Visit corslight dot com slash dudes
and celebrate responsibly.
Speaker 1 (32:43):
We'll be right back after this quick break. Okay, let's
let's toss to Pop Douglas.
Speaker 5 (32:49):
Pop Douglas.
Speaker 4 (32:51):
Today we are joined by third year receiver here in
New England from Saint Augustine, Florida. Underdog went to Liberty.
Speaker 5 (33:01):
College one Double A now known as YES and then
CS and then they joined FBS his freshman year and
as an independent school, independent.
Speaker 4 (33:14):
School, where is number three, we have Pop Douglas. Pop,
Welcome to the show. How is camp going thus far?
Speaker 5 (33:21):
You're popping out there or what.
Speaker 2 (33:23):
I appreciate you has me? Then it's been a blessing.
It's been a blessing to be out there, you know
with the guys. Man, I love the energy man, the
locker room man we bond together is different and man,
I can't wait to hit the you know, first week
with these guys.
Speaker 5 (33:39):
Mm hmm now it's the excitement going on this season. Man,
where is it like with Drake with the office of
line or just as a whole with Rabo being there?
Speaker 1 (33:48):
Now?
Speaker 5 (33:49):
Does it feel different from the last two years?
Speaker 2 (33:51):
Yeah, I say as a whole man, you know very
rave is a very you know players coach you know,
be on the field with us, man playing on defense.
You know, he knows it all. So it's like, man,
he has the group, like trusting the process.
Speaker 3 (34:08):
You know. I feel like we all like behind him
and you know, ready to go.
Speaker 1 (34:12):
To warfall house.
Speaker 3 (34:14):
Coach Rabes good man, he like I said, good guy.
Speaker 2 (34:18):
Uh, definitely in tune to what we're doing on I
mean in you know, in season and you know out
you know, not in season out, but you know with
with us in life.
Speaker 5 (34:28):
Also, we're talking a lot about coach Rabes on all
our episodes with all the players. But I feel like, yeah,
he's going to make a difference for you as well.
But the coach, I feel like that's going to make
the biggest difference. That's the first year coach is offensive
coordinator Josh McDaniels. What do you see Josh brings to
the table, you know this year than what you were
(34:49):
seeing the last two years, and.
Speaker 4 (34:51):
He was also in Billy O's offense. Differences of these
three different offenses.
Speaker 5 (34:56):
I mean, Billy Oh's offense is kind of very similar.
I don't know offense it was m hm. So what
do you what do you see different with McDaniels though,
I mean, because he's a genius, he knows his access
and ose like no other offensive coordinator out there. And
that Billy All and McDaniels were Julian and I's offensive
coordinator when we were with New England.
Speaker 2 (35:15):
So what do you see I think with you know,
coach McDaniels, he really harps on details, you know, uh,
and he doesn't I don't care how good you are
or no matter what.
Speaker 3 (35:29):
Like, these details need to be details.
Speaker 2 (35:30):
And as you train to keep doing that and you
start to do it, you know, you get on coach
the good side, you know, and you feel.
Speaker 3 (35:38):
Me he's that he's that guy.
Speaker 2 (35:40):
You know, he's that guy who's gonna call it up.
And you've seen it in film, you know with you
guys and you was you know, you bought. So we
just want to, you know, do what y'all did, and
hopefully you.
Speaker 5 (35:51):
Know, consistency as well. He really loved consistency. You know,
you can do it once, but if you can't do
it again, then he's not gonna call it play. He
calls that player times for you and you can knock
it off, you know, and you can and you can
aceit and practice. He's gonna be so confident to call
that play when it comes game time as well.
Speaker 1 (36:08):
There's no doubt about that house.
Speaker 4 (36:10):
Todd Downing as a coach, Oh TD, man, that's he's
a receiver coach.
Speaker 2 (36:14):
No receiver coach. You know, he was a quarterback coach.
And uh he sees you know what the quarterback can see.
You know, see if we run around here, he'll tell
us like when you do this, man, the quarterback sees this.
And we don't think like that, you know, as we're
running our routes. But you know, as he tells us that,
we're like, oh, you're right. Like, say, if we got
an out route and we read zone and we gotta
(36:36):
you know, why would I go pass the linebacker.
Speaker 3 (36:38):
And get out of the QB visions?
Speaker 2 (36:39):
So it's like stuff like that that you know, TD
help us see. You know, uh, maybe somebody else want
to see, so you know, and like I said, he's
that guy who cares for you on the field and
off the field.
Speaker 5 (36:50):
All right, let's get out football talk for a little bit.
You can get back to it. You and what do
you like to do on your days off? Like you
get a day off? Man? You know, do you like
to just chill video Are you a video game guy?
Or hanging with the family? You got kids? What's going
on with you? Man?
Speaker 3 (37:03):
I ain't got no kids. All right, Yeah, I'm on
the I'm on the game. You know. I would love
to play like all my friends, so I can talk.
Speaker 1 (37:11):
What game?
Speaker 2 (37:12):
N cub A, Matten two K, I like sport games.
I played Fortnite too, Fortnite, Yeah, MLB, I got to MLB. Yeah,
it's tough. The game tough.
Speaker 3 (37:23):
I'm not gonna lie to y'all. The game is tough.
Speaker 1 (37:25):
Who's your favor who's your favorite battery of the bad Way?
Speaker 5 (37:27):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (37:27):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (37:28):
I ain't gonna team.
Speaker 3 (37:30):
You don't even know who the players to like one
of the best teams.
Speaker 1 (37:33):
Who's your Madden team?
Speaker 3 (37:35):
Patriots?
Speaker 1 (37:36):
Patriots?
Speaker 3 (37:36):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (37:36):
Are you? Are you throwing to yourself at least thirty
times a game?
Speaker 3 (37:39):
Definitely? That's what I ain't gonna lie. Yeah I do.
Speaker 1 (37:43):
Did you ever play with Julian I'm Madden back in
the day.
Speaker 2 (37:47):
Yes, I did though, but it'd be crazy though. Like
I say, like I'm sitting here right now, I used
to play with the game with you.
Speaker 1 (37:52):
Boy. That's cool.
Speaker 4 (37:57):
Take us inside the receiver's room. What's the dynamic in
that room. Who's the vocal guy, who's the jokester, who's
the veteran. Let's let's educate some of these people on
who's in this room.
Speaker 3 (38:08):
Man.
Speaker 2 (38:09):
We got so many different personalities, but it all comes
together on the field.
Speaker 3 (38:13):
I'll say, Steph, you know that's the that's the vet,
you know.
Speaker 2 (38:17):
And he he don't seen it all, so he definitely
he don't let nothing slide.
Speaker 3 (38:22):
You know. That's what we needed in that room.
Speaker 2 (38:24):
He needed somebody who not gonna let you slack and
don't let you do nothing. And also that's mc holland's too.
Mc hollands, that's a different breed. I ain't gonna lie.
Speaker 3 (38:33):
He w ain't. On the field.
Speaker 2 (38:34):
He talked smack when he can back it up, like
you know's that's what we need to on the field.
Speaker 3 (38:38):
Man. He might be somebody who break the dB down
just by saying something.
Speaker 2 (38:44):
You know, Uh, you know some probably some people probably
don't got the mental buddy, y'all see him from you
know that when he was our rookie year and you
know he had to sit out then not.
Speaker 3 (38:56):
Look at his years. He's balling.
Speaker 2 (38:59):
He he he balled in and uh he trusting the process.
Speaker 3 (39:02):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (39:03):
I feel like that was one person I'll say that
I've seen grown from our rookie year and up and
uh got a new k dub kdub different man. I
don't see him ball And I watched this film and
I was like, oh, yeah, we can use him every
aspect we can use him, but his personality off the
field even better. Uh cheers, that's my boy.
Speaker 1 (39:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (39:29):
Cold he cold.
Speaker 2 (39:30):
Man, and uh he brings that. He bring that. He
pushed me, you know, on the field. He helped me
not get complacent, not saying that I would, but he
I see him work.
Speaker 3 (39:44):
I'm working, he sees me work. I know he working.
Speaker 2 (39:47):
So it's like the better I am, the better he
gonna be. The better he is, the better I'm gonna be.
So I feel like both of we just pushing each
other because he can ball.
Speaker 5 (39:56):
Who's taller Chis or Julian.
Speaker 3 (40:00):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (40:01):
But where are you you? They say, But who's more chiseled?
Speaker 5 (40:09):
Chis or Jewels?
Speaker 1 (40:12):
Yeah, Jewels is skinny right now?
Speaker 5 (40:14):
Surgery he hasn't been able to work.
Speaker 7 (40:15):
Next surgery, Jewels young more chiseled than you. Man, I
can't call you boxer anymore. What you got? I gotta
get surgery.
Speaker 1 (40:26):
I'll give you some slack.
Speaker 5 (40:27):
Right now, but by the end of the season, you
better be more chisel than I'm coming back at you.
I got you, I got you, You're you gotta pass
right now. But but what about me? Do I gotta
get Jack to he?
Speaker 1 (40:38):
Do you got them?
Speaker 5 (40:42):
Yeah? I am Tyler Warm, more Jack than me. I
haven't seen him good like that. They can't compare me
right now. Yeah, he's pretty jacked, isn't it. Yeah? What's this?
What's the chemistry? Like you know with Drake May because
you're you're one, you know, you're figuring each other out.
What's it like going into year two? Because when I
was with Tom, I rookie year, man, I was all
over the place. There was chemistry, but there really wasn't.
(41:04):
And then finally I got up to his level going
into year two and kaboom, we just hit it off.
So what do you see different from this year? Uh,
you know, going into your second year with him confidence.
Speaker 2 (41:15):
I don't feel like nobody can take that feel without
that confidence. And uh, I feel like as I see
him grow, he's been you know, getting playing faster, you know,
playing faster and more calm.
Speaker 3 (41:27):
He back there, you know, sitting back there. Oh my bad,
sitting back.
Speaker 2 (41:30):
There, and you know, throwing dots, and uh, that's that's
what we need from him, and just to be you know, uh,
calmbat there and you know, delivered the ball and you know,
call the right you know, the right things. But he's
been doing this thing and becoming the leader. He's been
a great leader, you know, for everybody, not just offense,
but office and defense. And I feel like he got
(41:51):
the guys that we're gonna fight.
Speaker 3 (41:52):
For him too.
Speaker 5 (41:54):
Throwing dots. I haven't heard that in a while.
Speaker 1 (41:56):
I like that.
Speaker 5 (41:56):
Throw That means you're throwing some freaking balls, Like you're saying,
throw on dots. Yeah, yeah, he's heading it right. And
then I like that.
Speaker 1 (42:04):
So you're going into your third year, would you have
sixty four catches? Last year?
Speaker 6 (42:08):
Sixty eight sixty sixty something.
Speaker 1 (42:10):
Yeah, you know, you know.
Speaker 5 (42:12):
No, but yeah, I feel like he truly doesn't.
Speaker 1 (42:16):
I like that. Yeah, I like that.
Speaker 5 (42:18):
How many yards you know you got to you know,
how many yards you had?
Speaker 3 (42:21):
Six hundred or something, six hundred something.
Speaker 1 (42:23):
I like that six so.
Speaker 3 (42:26):
Number.
Speaker 4 (42:26):
Yeah, so whom You've had a lot of production for
your you know, for your first year with the rookie quarterback.
Speaker 1 (42:33):
That's that's good production.
Speaker 4 (42:35):
What are some of the goals that you want to
go into year three, second year in the new system
with Josh McDaniel's second year with Drake May What are
some of like individual goals for you?
Speaker 3 (42:44):
Be consistent, you know, for like.
Speaker 2 (42:47):
Every game, just go out there and you know, just
do my part and not try to do like extra parts.
Just do my part. And when the ball come away,
come my way, make a play.
Speaker 3 (42:57):
You know.
Speaker 2 (42:59):
As I carry that ball, I'm carrying the whole New England.
So I feel like, you know, there's a lot of
way on my best. I gotta I gotta go.
Speaker 5 (43:05):
Who told you that one? When you're carrying the ball,
you're carrying all the hopes and dreams of the whole organization.
Speaker 1 (43:10):
Yeah, who told you that?
Speaker 5 (43:13):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (43:13):
Bill?
Speaker 4 (43:14):
Oh?
Speaker 5 (43:14):
I forgot you were under Bill he got three?
Speaker 1 (43:16):
How bad?
Speaker 5 (43:17):
I forgot.
Speaker 1 (43:17):
I was like is Abel using that line and.
Speaker 5 (43:19):
You guys too, So yeah, you you were what Bill,
it's last year? That is correct? Oh man, I didn't.
I didn't really put that together. Holy crap. Yeah, Bill,
that was one of Bill's favorite loves. I'm gonna use
that for the rest of my life too, Like even
when I'm on air, like you know, before the you know,
on the Fox, you know, pre game kickoff show. I'm
like Fox, the whole organization of Fox is on my
shoulders right now, Like I gotta come through with some
(43:41):
great analyze that. Yeah. Analysis, Yeah, analysis, analysis, analyzing sounds.
Speaker 1 (43:47):
Who are scrat scrip terms? Who are some.
Speaker 4 (43:51):
Guys that you looked up to when you wanted to
become a receiver in college when you were younger football player?
Who are some of the guys you mauled your game after?
Speaker 3 (44:00):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (44:01):
Tava on Austin Little East Before every game, I used to,
you know, put that one video, uh and starting.
Speaker 3 (44:10):
I swear every man, I used to go to the game.
Speaker 2 (44:13):
I swear I'm out there thinking I'm Tava on Austin
trying to get to Jiggy coach just telling me gold
forward and man, I feel like I was one guy
who really who I used to watch before every.
Speaker 3 (44:24):
Game and go out there and play.
Speaker 1 (44:25):
You ever meet him? No, you met him yet, I
haven't met him. Have a good year. You're gonna meet
him probably.
Speaker 5 (44:33):
When you get to be as I need to meet you.
Speaker 6 (44:36):
Now.
Speaker 3 (44:36):
That's a blessing, man.
Speaker 1 (44:38):
Yeah, that's what's up. I'm gonna have a breakout year.
I'm feeling it and I appreciate that.
Speaker 5 (44:42):
What are you doing different like from last year to
this year or you're just growing just just because you're
just growing.
Speaker 2 (44:48):
Yeah, I think I'm growing. You know, uh, you know
that first year you're really learning. That second year, you
know a lot of everybody really like.
Speaker 3 (44:58):
Focused on you, like he has to do this, has
to do that.
Speaker 2 (45:02):
And then you know, I'm everybody expectations different than probably mine.
Speaker 1 (45:06):
You know.
Speaker 2 (45:07):
I'm I'm you know, every year just trying to get better.
Every year, trying to get better. So you know, like
this year, man, I'm working like you know, off season
that been my I've been harping on it, like I
got this year has to be better than the last.
And I feel like as I you know, what's what
I do off the field is gonna show on the field.
Speaker 1 (45:27):
So I just got to like, what's what's consist of work?
What do you mean you're working? How do you work
differently this year than you did last year?
Speaker 3 (45:36):
I say, like mentally too?
Speaker 2 (45:38):
Like mentally, uh, you know, get my mental better as
of I wouldn't say that I have like not mental problems,
but like just too for me.
Speaker 5 (45:49):
I had them, but I got out of that. You know,
actually I still got Well.
Speaker 1 (45:58):
It's your red flag. If you don't, I've meant that problem.
Speaker 5 (46:00):
You'll see after about year six seven. Are you're gonna
start giving us all mentally crazy? Just call Juliane and
I'll we'll get your throat.
Speaker 2 (46:10):
Yeah, I'm gonna just had you out if I you know,
get something like this. Have we all on my podcast?
Speaker 1 (46:14):
Oh, I tell you right now. You do well on
the field and this kind of stuff comes. You got
to keep the main thing, the main thing.
Speaker 5 (46:19):
M there we go. That's the truth right there.
Speaker 3 (46:22):
True?
Speaker 1 (46:23):
But that worked? Like, so, like, what did you do
in your your off season?
Speaker 4 (46:27):
Did you look at all your Like I look at
every target of my that I was targeted, every catch
I had, every you know ball that I didn't do well.
Did I look at all my my run blocks? Did
I look at other receivers around the league see how
they got opened? Did I look at a guy that
you know, what are some of the things that made
you think that you were working hard?
Speaker 2 (46:47):
I say, working on the things that was probably what
probably I struggle with, you know, in uh, the previous
year out when I watched film, I do like to go,
you know, watching see like what I've done, you know,
and what can I get better at?
Speaker 3 (47:03):
So it's probably little things.
Speaker 2 (47:04):
So I actually for this year, I went back to
my rookieyear to go watch my rookieyear and see like
before you know, Josh, before we even like got together.
My watch doesn't try to remember the plays like just
to I just remember that the plays used to be
the same, and when we got to camp, they was
(47:24):
low key the same, but it's just different terminology.
Speaker 3 (47:27):
So I was like, man, this it's gonna be great.
Speaker 2 (47:30):
So I was really just more locked in, you know,
choosing whether to go somewhere or man, just chilling the
house and you know, vibing, you know, rest my body
and felt like that's been really been taking me a
long way.
Speaker 4 (47:44):
I tell you just from someone who's been in this
offense and who's had to had to grind. The number
one thing.
Speaker 3 (47:55):
For me.
Speaker 4 (47:57):
Was the better I knew my playbook, the better I
knew my concepts, The better I knew my formations, my
personnel groups, the better I knew the coverages, the better
I knew the tendencies of the defense, the better I
knew what they did in every situation. Then then I
got to use my superpower, and I had. You know,
everyone's got a superpower. Your superpower is quickness. You know,
your superpower is explosion. This so with the more cerebral
(48:21):
you get, that's when you get to use your superpower.
You look at Gronk, he didn't even know the damn
playbook the first year, and then you know, and he
still was unfair. And then he and then he learned
to playbook, and then it became super unfair. You know
what I mean, Because that's that's the ultimate difference. Once
you get to this level, everyone's fucking good. The guys
that separate each other are the guys that really study
(48:44):
the game and understand the game and understand the rhyme
of reason, why are we doing this? Why am I
running this read route with this incut right here? Oh
we're high lowing this guy. Oh so you know what
I mean. So like that's the stuff that always made
I could. I don't know if I can speak for you,
but for.
Speaker 5 (49:01):
You can speak for me, no doubt about that. And
I always said it as well. If you're thinking your beat,
so if you're thinking about what type of route you're running,
you're thinking about your release, Well, you're beat right off
the line of scrimmage already. That defender is just going
to get right up in your grill because you're a
second behind. And when you're a second or even a
half second or one tenth of a second behind, the
guys are so good in front of you as well, boom,
(49:22):
they have the advantage and you're never going to get
open then. So if you're thinking your beat, know your
playbook and you just go out there and do what
you got to do and study them so you know
throughout the week, so when you see the coverage, you're
not even thinking about your cough, I got this. I
know what to do.
Speaker 3 (49:39):
When y'all.
Speaker 2 (49:43):
New, y'all gain y'all confidence, like like win like your
game or year or.
Speaker 5 (49:51):
That's a good question. I've talked about it plenty of
times before, but there's always this one route. It was
called Panther route, and it was get big in the
end zone, you know, and Tom's coming to me and
we're in the zone and it's step one yard into
the end zone, box out the linebacker and get big,
like you don't try to do anything fancy gronk. That's
what Coach Belichick, Billy, oh, Tom, just get fucking big.
Speaker 1 (50:11):
And that's what you are.
Speaker 5 (50:12):
You're trying to be faster, you're trying to be quicker.
Well guess what you're not. Yeah, yeah, you know you guys,
they're hurting my ego. Then finally you get rid of
the fucking ego. All right, I'm gonna get big. And
then I showed it in practice. You know, it was
like what week eight or nine my rookie year. You know,
I got big boom, Tom put it where I need
where he needed to put it. I made the catch
because I got big, box out the linebacker. Game comes
(50:34):
versus Chicago Bears rookie year, it's snowing all over the place,
snow game. We're dominating. I'm going versus an all Pro
or Hall of Fame or Brian Urlacher. Guys one on
one third and twelve. We're in the red zone. Gronk,
this is the play. Tom looks at me, Hey, it's panther.
You know, get fucking big, he says, in the hollow,
get big, do it like you did on Friday. Well,
(50:56):
finally you have some confidence in you. Because I was
all over the place, man, I was making some plays
but then running some wrong routes, thinking I should do
things my way. And I'm like, all right, I get it.
They want it done how they see it, which is right,
which I thought my shit was right.
Speaker 1 (51:09):
No, it's not.
Speaker 5 (51:10):
I get big versus our lacker. Tom puts it right there,
catch it, do a little dance, fucking Gronk, spike it
snowflakes all over the place. And from there on out
they had the confidence in me. So that was a great,
great freaking feeling.
Speaker 3 (51:24):
Man.
Speaker 4 (51:24):
Tough for me, I would say my first game I
got confidence when we played against Philadelphia a house to
pun I had an opening kickoff tackle on kickoff team.
Speaker 1 (51:37):
But it's not like the confidence stayed there.
Speaker 4 (51:41):
I had to continually earn my confidence, and I earned
my confidence through my preparation. So like anytime I felt like,
uh if, anytime I felt the funk and then I
need to gain confidence, I would just go do something
productive to my game. I go catch one thousand, five hundred,
I go, you know, do some kind of footwork, drill
(52:02):
work the top of my routes, go walk through by myself.
So I know, the fucking NASCAR terms like like it's nothing.
Speaker 3 (52:09):
You know.
Speaker 4 (52:09):
That's how I gained confidence. It was always through preparation.
But once I knew I could play the game. Was
that first game, once we got there, you know, I
was like I could play this game. But then I
had to continually because there's ebbs and flows. You know,
everyone goes through the highs of the highs and everyone
looks like a jackass on film too, you know. So
it's like you got to continue to gain that confidence
(52:31):
through the grind.
Speaker 1 (52:33):
You know that that was for me.
Speaker 5 (52:34):
On my quick question, who's someone on the Patriots that
we should keep an eye on? My well, my I
mean I remember Danny what came in thinking Pop and
we had a I'm calling Pop. I mean I am too.
I was hoping he said his own name. Yeah, no facts,
let's just say pop Doug Let's We're going to keep an.
Speaker 1 (52:48):
Eye on you.
Speaker 3 (52:49):
I just need all get you a popcorn. Ready, there
we go.
Speaker 5 (52:52):
That's what I'm talking about. The answer hit the popcorner,
Jack Kyler. You guys cooking it up.
Speaker 1 (52:58):
I love it all right.
Speaker 4 (53:00):
This is part of the show where we take our
patented questions for the system of what kind of dude
you are. We have these series of questions that we
got patented by our patent lawyers.
Speaker 5 (53:13):
Yeah, we're only we're allowed to ask you these questions.
Speaker 4 (53:15):
Yeah, they're quick hitters or a series of questions to
determine on what kind of dude you are in the
locker room.
Speaker 5 (53:21):
According and there are five different categories of what type
of dude you can be, and we're going to put
you in one of the categories.
Speaker 1 (53:26):
You can be.
Speaker 5 (53:27):
You can be multiple categories, but what represents you the most.
We got whizz, We got being a dude's dude, which
is basically being a locker room guy. You got stud,
you got freak, and you got dog and you got dog.
So we're going to figure out what one you are.
Speaker 4 (53:41):
This started off with something easy, easy cheese. Who's your
favorite non football athlete?
Speaker 1 (53:48):
Bruhn J.
Speaker 5 (53:52):
That's a that's a freak. Yeah, so you're a freak already.
I can tell. Oh, oh man, what star recruit were
you coming out of high school?
Speaker 1 (54:06):
Zero? Zero star?
Speaker 5 (54:08):
Yeah, you went to Liberty, Don't worry. Julian was too.
Speaker 1 (54:14):
I went to Kent. Don't worry. I was a four star.
Speaker 5 (54:19):
I know, dude, I was a beast, uh freaking I was.
Speaker 1 (54:23):
The question is the question? You know what any stars
you are? I love you stars. We're in the NFL
right now.
Speaker 5 (54:31):
Now, that doesn't matter what you were in high school.
It's about where you are now in the NFL. But
I was a four story.
Speaker 3 (54:38):
All right.
Speaker 1 (54:39):
Who's the most famous person in your phone?
Speaker 8 (54:43):
Probably Stephan Stephan Diggs. Yeah he's still he's young. He's young,
Stephan Diggs. All right, what do you got wrong?
Speaker 1 (54:52):
All right?
Speaker 3 (54:52):
Oh?
Speaker 5 (54:53):
What's your fastest? Forty times? Four three four three three?
Where was that at the countdown?
Speaker 1 (54:58):
Had?
Speaker 3 (54:59):
Can I take the hands on? If we go laser four.
Speaker 1 (55:01):
For four, four for four, that's a big b J.
Speaker 2 (55:05):
That's a bigger on laser, I mean not laser on the.
Speaker 5 (55:10):
Four three nine and then fourth I'm going to count
the head. Was that one at the combine or your
pro day or just in your backyard combine. Yeah, all right,
four four four.
Speaker 1 (55:22):
College g p A and I wanted to talk about it.
Speaker 3 (55:25):
No, I was like a three point two.
Speaker 1 (55:26):
Three smart student athlete over here, like student liberty.
Speaker 3 (55:32):
They don't play.
Speaker 5 (55:34):
Yeah, that is a smart score. I didn't get into there.
I was trying, Yeah, you're a full start.
Speaker 3 (55:39):
They wouldn't. You weren't even looking.
Speaker 5 (55:40):
At Oh man, Uh, who's posters or poster did you
have on your wall?
Speaker 1 (55:50):
Growing up as a kid.
Speaker 3 (55:52):
I used to have a I didn't have nobody poster.
Speaker 2 (55:56):
I had like the camps, like the game, like when
if I go to a Florida game to you, like
the postals they got the schedule on that. I used
to put them up on my Uh, it makes it
look like I got like recruit recruited.
Speaker 5 (56:11):
I did that too.
Speaker 1 (56:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (56:12):
The letters, all those letters that were sent you MoU yeah.
Speaker 3 (56:17):
But they never offered me.
Speaker 5 (56:18):
Though they were never offered. They were just like, hey,
we're looking at your there was something about the school,
and I just posted up on my wall.
Speaker 3 (56:26):
And then you got offered probably the next day.
Speaker 1 (56:29):
No.
Speaker 5 (56:29):
No, I was just some of them, but not all
of them. I just thought it was cool to have,
like the letters. But what was your What was the
school that you would like make sure that schedule was
up there?
Speaker 3 (56:39):
It was Florida.
Speaker 1 (56:39):
You loved Florida. He loved Florida.
Speaker 6 (56:41):
Yeah, we played with a lot of Florida Gators.
Speaker 5 (56:44):
Yeah, you're cool and all.
Speaker 3 (56:47):
Appreciate that, you know. Yeah. My cousin was Brandon James.
Speaker 2 (56:51):
He played for Florida, So that's why I was really
into you know, the Gators in the Gators.
Speaker 5 (56:57):
All right, all right, Jules, A couple more questions, a
couple more know what type of judy are? But we're
not there yet. Do you know what type of dude
you are?
Speaker 3 (57:07):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (57:07):
What are you? What do you think?
Speaker 6 (57:08):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (57:09):
Ship?
Speaker 5 (57:09):
Okay, come on, we're trying to figure it out.
Speaker 1 (57:11):
Bad. Thanks.
Speaker 5 (57:14):
That was a question. That's a new one. That's a
new patent question. What type of jude do you think
you are?
Speaker 3 (57:18):
So?
Speaker 1 (57:19):
All right? What was the song on your high school
highlight tape?
Speaker 3 (57:24):
They have a song?
Speaker 1 (57:26):
No song?
Speaker 3 (57:27):
It was on like Max, I mean a huddle?
Speaker 2 (57:30):
Yeah we had yeah, I had a huddle instrumentals, Yes,
definitely instrumentals. But it was like, I don't I couldn't
even tell you what the instrumental was.
Speaker 5 (57:38):
Highlights were so good, didn't even need a song.
Speaker 4 (57:40):
No, it's the second guy from the newer, like a
younger generation.
Speaker 1 (57:44):
They I think that they don't.
Speaker 4 (57:46):
We used to make our own highlight films to send
them out, you know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (57:49):
So you put like your own song of songs? Yeah,
hell out of songs.
Speaker 5 (57:55):
You can't put a song on anymore. You gotta pay.
Speaker 1 (57:58):
How do you mean how we make it?
Speaker 3 (57:59):
How did the video?
Speaker 1 (58:01):
You would so you would download the film onto your
computer and then you would rip the film and put
it on a DVD.
Speaker 3 (58:10):
Yeah, I had to work hard.
Speaker 4 (58:13):
Had we thought the guys before us had to work
hard when they used to have to cut their own film?
Speaker 1 (58:20):
They remember, That's that's how it was. That's crazy, all right.
Two more questions.
Speaker 5 (58:24):
If you are a Carl car.
Speaker 1 (58:26):
Would you be?
Speaker 6 (58:28):
Who is a good one car? I'm like a yours
right now?
Speaker 1 (58:33):
Yours?
Speaker 3 (58:33):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (58:34):
What's what's the yours? I've heard of them? Three wheeler?
Speaker 3 (58:39):
No the years? What that is? The limbo Lamborghin truck?
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (58:44):
Suv yeah, a little suv yeah, yeah, you'reus. Those things
are compact.
Speaker 1 (58:50):
They're very fast built for all weather, that all will drive, got.
Speaker 3 (58:55):
One speed on speed.
Speaker 1 (58:59):
Then the last question, how do you eat your steak? Pop?
Speaker 3 (59:03):
Medium?
Speaker 1 (59:04):
Will medium well with utensils?
Speaker 2 (59:08):
Yeah, bare hands, It depends if there's no more for
it and spoons in the.
Speaker 5 (59:13):
Yeah, and what if there's like some meat left in
the bone like you got you got a red body
with a bone. You're just picking up that bone with
your hands. Yes, that's good, that's good.
Speaker 1 (59:26):
Give us a couple of seconds here, Pop, we gotta
go over uh, I don't.
Speaker 5 (59:29):
Think like where we're weird. We're just having a meeting
over here.
Speaker 9 (59:32):
Just yeah, but not went to liberty. You ran four
four three nine astrois hand time for five flat?
Speaker 1 (59:48):
No?
Speaker 8 (59:48):
No, he was four four eight four four four.
Speaker 1 (59:51):
That's a good jay Z song. Four four four.
Speaker 6 (59:55):
G p A was three to two. Smart guy smart,
a smart guy.
Speaker 1 (59:58):
And then he's got like one of the fast He
thinks he's one of the fastest SUVs on.
Speaker 8 (01:00:02):
The market right now, that's right, and all train, all terrain,
but all speed go that.
