Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to games Names.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
I'm Julian Edelman, and we got a brand new compilation,
Highlight Real starting now.
Speaker 3 (00:08):
Now Ground talks about going off script at the roast
of Tom Brady.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
How about that roast night? That was a fun night too.
It was one of the best nights of my life.
Speaker 4 (00:17):
I've been telling a couple of people that it might
be better than the Super Bowls.
Speaker 1 (00:22):
Why is it better than the super Bowls?
Speaker 4 (00:24):
Because it was three hours, just like a super Bowl game,
and uh, we didn't get hit for those three hours,
and it was just as exciting it was. Took some hits,
Oh yeah, we took some different hits, delivered blows.
Speaker 5 (00:38):
Can you talk us through your joke writing process?
Speaker 4 (00:40):
All right, I'll go through my joke writing process. So
I actually have a friend named Nate Dogg. He's been
my lifelong friend since me. They both come out of
the wound we've been. We lived on the same street
growing up. We've known each other since like literally one
month year old. How do you say that when you're
one month year old?
Speaker 5 (00:58):
Lesson one? Lesson one? We were one month and we were.
Speaker 4 (01:02):
Best friends since and uh, maniac funny guy, always on point.
I told him I told them I'm doing the roast.
I was like, these are the people that are going
to be at the roast. So I was like, when
whenever you're feeling it, whenever you got some time off,
just throw me some jokes. So, uh, you know, and
then on that I'll get back to that. And then
(01:22):
on top of it, you got all the people that
were the writers for roasts roast that were ex comedians
that are roasters as well. You had Jeffrey Ross on
the phone call as well. You get on the call,
they ask you if you got any you know, material,
They ask you if there's any situations you've ever been
in that they can create jokes for. You tell them
(01:45):
a couple of stories, what how how close you are
with the other guys that are going to be on
the panel. And then they came back to me about
five days later and had a list of jokes as well,
and uh, I've read a couple of them. I switched
them up a little bit. There were some that were
spot on. I was like, yo, you guys hit that
spot on. I'm just gonna keep it as clean as
it is right there. And then also in that meantime,
(02:07):
I wrote about five of my own jokes as well,
and then I gave them those five jokes, and then
my friend Nate Dogg gave me his ten jokes. I
sent in those ten jokes. So then the five jokes
I sent in, the ten jokes Nate dog sent in,
and then the fifteen jokes that the writers all came
up with. We put them all on the table. I
(02:27):
read through them the way I was pronouncing everything. You know,
we had a couple of thirty minute sessions where I
was going over to jokes, they were seeing how it
was coming off, and then did about two or three
of those practices, and then they came back a day
before the event and they go, here's the final script.
And the final script just was everything was in order,
(02:49):
how you know, the Julian's jokes all right there, all
Tom's jokes all categorized, and then boom.
Speaker 5 (02:57):
I loved it.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
You know, but I was reading the teleprompter, and you know,
because you can sit there and I was. I was
infatuated with the teleprompter and who's using it who wasn't,
and so Rob, you know, he was doing a couple
of teleprompter jokes, and you went full rogue, You went
full rogue and just started going off the crowd, and
like half of it wasn't he you just you just
(03:19):
rob nuts.
Speaker 4 (03:21):
Well he almost blew the roof off the place, Jack,
I did blow the roof.
Speaker 5 (03:26):
Almost, Yes, oh my god. Always, but here we go.
Speaker 4 (03:30):
So I went off off script a few times because,
like I said, it was like a super Bowl moment,
Like I felt like I wasn't even inside my body
once I got up there. First off, I finished a
bottle of tequila. I haven't been drunk like that in
quite some time, and tequila is like an upper So
you were next to me jooling that bottle that was
underneath my legs when we sat down. Kevin Hart had
(03:53):
like a third of it, which is impressive. He's like
two inches tall, and like he finished the third of
the bottle with myself, and he can completely, you know,
compose himself like he's an animal. You think he's sober
when he's drunk, and like the guy can handle anything,
and then he's funny sober or drunk anyways, And then
you finished the bottle with me. Then the bottle girls
(04:14):
were bringing drinks to us as well. So when I
got up there, I was hammed dude like that Tequila
went whom like. It amped me up when I when
I stood up on stage, and then I just started
firing off the jokes. And then when the final script
came in, I was kind of disappointed. There was some
of the jokes that were left off, and they were like, hey,
everyone only has five to six minutes, so we can't
(04:37):
do every single joke. So everyone had jokes left off
the script. But when I got going, I saw some
opportunities present to the jokes that got left off script
were ready to be fired, and I fired those jokes off.
And plus I was getting ripped on as well, so
I had to stand up.
Speaker 5 (04:55):
For myself as well. So that's how I went rogue.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
He went rogue and it was great, and then he
he ends it and finishes it with the gronk spike,
which a chef's kiss of Mike drop.
Speaker 5 (05:08):
Were you planning on that or was that that just
that just happened? No, No, nope, they planned on it.
The writers planned on it. It was in the script.
Speaker 4 (05:14):
It was in parentheses at the end gronk spike shotglass.
So I had to do it. And right when I
did it, I mean I knew it was a great idea.
And then right when I did it and I saw
the glass explode everywhere, I said, oh shit, that was
the worst idea. I mean I would have Gronk spiked
it like into the podium, so it like want to
go all over the place. It was kind of dangerous.
(05:36):
We are lucky and blessed that no one got hurt
in that situation. There was a lot of people in
the front row that could have led to, you know,
a dangerous path where someone could have seriously gotten hurt,
and we're lucky no one did because, you know, the
party gods are always on my favorite. I are always
on my side when I'm partying, nothing ever wrong, wrong
(05:56):
goes happened because I'm partying for the good of people.
So God's there to make sure that no one gets
hurt when I do something dumb, because it's.
Speaker 5 (06:04):
For the people, for the people. The party gods smiling
down upon you. Man.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
This has been the season off season of Tommy so
many events.
Speaker 5 (06:14):
And it's because it's his first time.
Speaker 1 (06:16):
Second is his second year?
Speaker 4 (06:17):
First, No, you're going into a second year. Second, Yeah,
he's going into.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
What moment are they going to use for his twelve
foot statue in front of Fox Bro.
Speaker 5 (06:25):
They're gonna probably use my third leg the hole that
statue up. It probably elects going, yeah, let's go statue.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
Yeah, it'll be that one.
Speaker 4 (06:40):
I don't know, the trophy one where he's like this,
oh backwards at backwards man.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
I was wondering helmet on her off if they were
anythink to.
Speaker 4 (06:49):
Maybe his combine picture. That's a statue right there, rock
blind people, When do you think they're going to reveal
the statue halftime of a game?
Speaker 5 (07:03):
Before a game, I don't know, end of August?
Speaker 4 (07:07):
Are they going to have their own ceremony fill out,
fill out the stadium against sixty five thousand just to
reveal a statue.
Speaker 5 (07:16):
What's gonna happen?
Speaker 6 (07:17):
They'll they'll have an event to reveal the statue, the rendering,
than an event to the real statue.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
I mean, Jesus, how many events can we have?
Speaker 5 (07:26):
Only time to do that? Only time?
Speaker 1 (07:28):
I mean is greatest of all time? He is is
the greatest of all time.
Speaker 5 (07:32):
He's the only one who can do that.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
Amen, Brother, Nextron, can Julian talk about the time they
really made Coach Belichick mad?
Speaker 1 (07:39):
People always think that, like you still just go out
and party. No, I mean I.
Speaker 4 (07:45):
Love to have a great time, no doubt about it.
I mean, dude, we partied so hard back in the
day though too, Like remember us on that golf cart
and where and Nan Talcket we for Gowie weekend.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
We got so much trouble though for that because you
had a surgery.
Speaker 5 (08:03):
I think it was my forum and no was it?
Speaker 1 (08:05):
And then I had a foot We were both getting pulled.
We were in the back.
Speaker 4 (08:12):
Of it was we were in the back of a
golf cart and people were filming us. And then we
waited so much and I think the people in the
front got off the golf cart, and when they got
off the golf cart, the front two wheels went up
in the air and we fell right onto the ground
and like face planeted.
Speaker 5 (08:29):
And the crazy thing about.
Speaker 4 (08:31):
It is we had no clue that we even did
that until we saw the video on Barstool four days later,
and the caption of Barstool was.
Speaker 5 (08:40):
Not really sure.
Speaker 4 (08:40):
We want our star wide receiver and tight end acting
like this and for Gali, but we love them for it. Yeah,
And I was like, that's why I love Barstool.
Speaker 5 (08:50):
They're sticking up for us.
Speaker 2 (08:51):
Bro.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
You remember how mad Bill was.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
Oh man, you fucking assholes kid like Jesus Christ, just
stay out of them.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
The headlines say hurt.
Speaker 5 (09:03):
Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (09:03):
You guys aren't even in practicing right now. You can't
even go on the field, and you're acting like drunk
idiots A A GOLLI of course we are.
Speaker 5 (09:11):
We're young and dumb. I would not change a thing. Bro.
Speaker 4 (09:15):
Imagine if we didn't do that now, and we try
to do it, and we try to do it now,
it would be hard to do it now. We did
it when we could. That's the best part about it.
We did it when we could.
Speaker 1 (09:25):
That was such a fun trip.
Speaker 5 (09:26):
That's on the trip. Did you pull it up?
Speaker 1 (09:28):
Do you have that?
Speaker 4 (09:29):
It's online somewhere, dude, let's look at it.
Speaker 5 (09:33):
Look how young we look in all the video.
Speaker 7 (09:35):
Thanks for watching the fumble. You know your Memorial Day
weekend would lit when justin timber Like tweets you to
compliment on your dance moves. Yeah, I'm talking about Gronk.
He spent the weekend with Julian Edelman partying in Nantucket.
Here's a glimpse into their weekend. Edelman, let us know exactly.
Speaker 8 (09:53):
Oh, that's Tom's part I thought it was mine, jealous
of Tom. Later took a look at us, dude, we
weremain yet you're pouring a beer on my house on
front row of the concert.
Speaker 7 (10:11):
Gronde Patriots fans a little nervous when he attempted to
do the splits and crawl on the floor at the
same time.
Speaker 8 (10:22):
This was two months before training camp Bell were training.
Speaker 5 (10:26):
We're stretching.
Speaker 7 (10:27):
Their entire pat season flashed before their eyes.
Speaker 5 (10:30):
Here we go, there is a that's what happened.
Speaker 8 (10:35):
Oh, that's what happened, But no worries.
Speaker 7 (10:37):
They were okay enough to dance to Justin Timberlake on
stage later that night.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
Which is what I don't remember him being there. That's
the Gronk move right there.
Speaker 4 (10:51):
Yeah, we used to dance our face off.
Speaker 1 (10:54):
I swear that made us better.
Speaker 4 (10:55):
Players, though, because we were doing so many different type
of moments.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
Yes, Collis, it was our cardio.
Speaker 4 (11:01):
We were dancing for four hours straight and we burned
off all the alcohol while we were dancing too.
Speaker 5 (11:05):
That's why we're always ready to go.
Speaker 4 (11:07):
When we showed up.
Speaker 3 (11:08):
Next ground, answers fan questions and reveals a new business idea.
Speaker 9 (11:13):
Jillian I got a lot of respects for you man,
will you play the game. It's a freaking gangster watching
your episode with Gronk right now. And let me just say,
I want to see a fight between you and Gronk.
You know, j this is all about the smaller guy,
and I really really think you could take him. You know,
I want to see it happen. I want to call
you a bearded wonder. I'll throw throwing a ge So no, Gi,
(11:36):
it doesn't matter. I want to see you guys get
after it, step on the mats and see whose boss.
Speaker 5 (11:41):
So what's the question?
Speaker 1 (11:43):
What's the question?
Speaker 3 (11:43):
Who would win in a fight?
Speaker 9 (11:45):
Oh?
Speaker 5 (11:45):
That's a question.
Speaker 4 (11:46):
I just love how he started off. His name's Tyler
and he's a Brazilian Choose.
Speaker 1 (11:51):
Jitsu brown belt.
Speaker 5 (11:53):
Don't go there, Robert trying to.
Speaker 3 (12:01):
I was just saying.
Speaker 5 (12:02):
I was just saying, turn the page, man. I mean,
I'm gonna tell you this right now.
Speaker 4 (12:10):
I don't even know, but Julian is an absolute dog.
I can tell you this. There are plenty of people
out there that are bigger than Julian, and I guarantee
Julian would whoop their ass.
Speaker 1 (12:23):
And the dog.
Speaker 5 (12:26):
I like that.
Speaker 6 (12:27):
I like that, I like thinking to you guys as
a tag team duo would kill me. All right on
here to our next question. The hotline does accept text messages,
so we got a hotline text that came in. Hey,
this is Jace Potter and my question is for Jules
and Gronk. Did Gronk ever get in trouble for denting
(12:50):
the Super Bowl Trophy with the baseball? That is from
Jace Pottery list.
Speaker 5 (12:54):
No, No, I never got into trouble.
Speaker 1 (12:57):
Nice, I never have.
Speaker 4 (12:59):
It's kind of like in the Hall of Fame now
like the Dent, it's like legendary. I have the ball,
but now we never got in trouble. If anything, it
just grew our They loved it, grew our legendariness.
Speaker 2 (13:10):
Well, everyone was terrified of how mister Craft react, like
all the people that worked for him. But then it
was like he didn't care. Everyone's like, oh yeah, it's great,
Stacy James Saw.
Speaker 5 (13:23):
I mean he almost had a heart attack.
Speaker 1 (13:24):
He had a heart attack.
Speaker 5 (13:26):
Heart attack.
Speaker 4 (13:26):
The Vince Lombardi because they make a new one every year,
it doesn't have some of that like oral history like
the Stanley Cup does, but that and being in the
Hall of Fame with the dent, it has that like
legend to it.
Speaker 5 (13:36):
It's awesome.
Speaker 2 (13:37):
We we appreciate the small jab to our trophy that
you did to try to sneak in.
Speaker 1 (13:41):
Hey whenever, Hey, anytime that's such.
Speaker 5 (13:43):
Any time hockey can get in there, you gotta get
it in there.
Speaker 10 (13:46):
All right, last question, jol Grog, thank you guys both
for your service. My question was this, if the two
of you had to go into business together and it
couldn't have anything to do with sports whatsoever, what would
that business.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
Be and what would your roles be?
Speaker 5 (14:04):
Circus circus, that's one podcasting.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
Anything to do with sports, you do like a food podcast?
Speaker 4 (14:13):
And then oh yeah, and then I would say, I
think we would be really.
Speaker 5 (14:19):
Good on OnlyFans.
Speaker 4 (14:21):
Yeah, I feel like together, get together, do it together.
Speaker 5 (14:29):
Never showed a junk, never ever show it. Never ever.
Speaker 4 (14:33):
You can't be the one that shows a junk. But
I'm pretty sure. I looked it up the other day
because someone recommended me to get only Fans and I
looked up who what dudes aren't only fans?
Speaker 5 (14:46):
And how much you're making a month?
Speaker 4 (14:48):
And it said, this is what it's said on Google,
is that Tiger is making eighty million dollars a month
somewhere now forty million I think a month from OnlyFans,
from only fans. Type it in right Nowack, it was
some outrageous number to where just saying that. Just give
(15:08):
me a little spark to maybe start a business with Jules.
Speaker 6 (15:16):
It says Tiger has for twenty bucks a month to subscribe.
They estimated here he's made twenty million so far off
his OnlyFans total.
Speaker 3 (15:26):
Oh total, It's what I was saying.
Speaker 4 (15:27):
Someone said he was making twenty MILLI a month or
forty or something. They google it right in front of me.
But yeah, I was only wrong on that one. We
here get forty, Yeah, we can get about twenty to
forty now.
Speaker 3 (15:43):
Gronk tells a story of falling asleep on his New
England Patriots visit.
Speaker 4 (15:47):
I was so sick of that visit, dude. It wasn't
just a vis were just wasn't the visit to the Patriots.
So what I went on like a little tour like
you go and I visited twelve different teams. It's kind
of like you're going on these recruiting visits to each
team because they want to get to know you, and
the New England Patriots were the last ones on the list,
and Bro, I was sick. I was flying from Denver
(16:09):
to Jacksonville to freaking Baltimore, meeting with every team, and
I was so sick of it.
Speaker 5 (16:13):
And you know, you're putting like.
Speaker 4 (16:15):
Kind of a front on it as well, and I
was literally so sick of I go, I want to
be outrageous here. I need to have some fun with it.
I remember I was kind of hung over to feeling
like crap all these flights. I went out and partied
a couple of the Knights too, so I wasn't even
feeling like myself. So I was like, how do you
get back to normal? Do you just become outrageous? And
I show up. I was so tired. First thing I
(16:37):
do is fall asleep in Nancy's office. Yeah, Bill Belichick
heard all about it.
Speaker 5 (16:42):
He couldn't believe it.
Speaker 4 (16:43):
And then I go into the interview session and Billy
O'Brien draws a play up and then he races on
the board. He's like, all right, can you name what
the wide receivers did, like rename their route and what
the responsibility was. I was like, Bro, I have no clue.
I couldn't even think. And then he's like he's like,
what do you do? I was like, you're just throwing
me the fucking ball, Billy. Oh, I'll make some guys miss,
(17:05):
I'll run over some people. He's like, He's like, but
you don't know the playoffs, Like, I don't need to
know the play you throw me the ball. Like That's
basically how our interview went. And then I literally walked
out of there, called Drew Rosenhouse. I said, this team
is either gonna take me or they're fucking laughing at me.
And I give no fucks because I'm over this whole process.
So what happens? New Patriots trade up for me for
(17:25):
the forty second pick in the NFL Draft in twenty
ten and select me. And I looked around the table.
I said, I told you they were gonna take me.
Speaker 1 (17:33):
But Billy oh.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
So going back to where we started, that is Gronk
right there, that whole thing, and they built up like
I remember them talking about you, the coaches saying like, yeah, man,
you're gonna love this kid. He's fucking just awesome. He
had like you explained the whole thing that you just
explained and like that was like, oh my god, what
(17:56):
Like that doesn't happen in New England, you know what
I mean, and Grunk kind of from your little story
right there, you can kind of portray that you're not
a smart football player, like, but you were like brilliant,
Like they would explain that, like, don't think that Gronk
didn't know his fucking plays. This guy you coached him
once on one thing. He never had to say it again.
Like he was like one of the most football intelligent guys.
Speaker 4 (18:18):
I knew, yes, I mean at that time when I
was doing the interview, I was beat down. I was
sick of it, so I couldn't really recall, you know,
the play after he showed it to me.
Speaker 5 (18:26):
And then also I did struggle a.
Speaker 4 (18:28):
Little bit though my rookie year with the playbook, I
actually would have probably started every single game from the
beginning my first eight games. I only was playing about
fifteen to twenty plays a game, if you can recall that.
And then finally boom, the playbook hit. I mean, it
was a tough playbook. I mean in college, I literally
think I had like fifteen plays and I lined up
in the same spot every single play. And I get
(18:48):
to New England and man, let me tell you that
playbook was outrageous.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
And it's not just the playbook, it's the personnel groups
you're playing, why you're playing f exactly, you know what
I mean, it's wheels, You guys gotta flop.
Speaker 9 (19:00):
It was.
Speaker 1 (19:01):
It was definitely tough.
Speaker 5 (19:02):
It was definitely a chance.
Speaker 1 (19:03):
The fucking formations. There's so many goddamnformations.
Speaker 5 (19:06):
Drove me crazy.
Speaker 4 (19:06):
Like I said, in college, I had one formation. I
lined up in the same spot every single play.
Speaker 5 (19:11):
I'm not lying every single play.
Speaker 4 (19:13):
I get to New England, what sixty five different formations? Yeah,
actually probably one hundred and fifty different formations, but then
we narrowed it down to about sixty five.
Speaker 5 (19:22):
My head was spinning all.
Speaker 4 (19:24):
Over the place, and finally it just clicked, you know,
once I got it under control.
Speaker 5 (19:28):
About week ten.
Speaker 4 (19:29):
It's remember I scored that touchdown versus Chicago Bears versus
Brian Urlacker. Oh yeah, what was that panther route where
I had to just get big right at the goal
line and then Tom was gonna throw it low. And
then we hit it in practice at Friday, Then we
hit it in the game that Sunday, and since then
I was starting every single play.
Speaker 3 (19:44):
Next up, Gronk's first impression of Tom Brady.
Speaker 1 (19:48):
What's your favorite Tom memory?
Speaker 5 (19:50):
My favorite Tom memory, Man, I'll always remember the time
when I first met him in the locker room. You
brought it up during your speech. He just came up
to me.
Speaker 4 (19:59):
I was getting my ankle tape by Jimbo, the Great
Jim Wallen, Great Jim Wallen, Whaling Wallen. It's been a while,
Jim Man. I just called you Jimbo for so long.
I'm forgetting your last name a little bit. Got it
all right, got I got it though, And he was
taping my ankles and Tom just came cruising by, you know.
I was just some good old rookie, and he just
(20:20):
walked up to me and he goes, hey, I'm Tom Brady,
and I go very nice to meet you, Tom Brady.
I'm Rob Gronkowski. And then he's like, let's get after
it this year, and then he walked away, and I
just was like shook. I was like, man, Tom Brady
just came up to me and introduced himself as Tom Brady, Like,
of course I know who you are, Tom Brady's But
(20:42):
that was just one of the coolest moments I would remember,
you know, for rest of my life. And uh, we
just you know, got to work from there on out.
And he was all business right from the beginning. He
really was, Like we said, what he puts on his persona,
what he shows leaves that. And he was all business
twenty four to seven when he was in that building.
Speaker 5 (21:04):
What was your favorite moment too, while we're at it.
Speaker 2 (21:07):
My favorite moments were the ones who were like we'd
be throwing routes or something.
Speaker 1 (21:13):
And like he would yell at me or something like.
Speaker 2 (21:16):
I remember my rookie year, we put in a four
white personnel group the first the first day of rookie
or the first day of veteran camp, and so it
was me, Wes, Joe, Joey Galloway, and Randy and we
put it in there and I was the why and
I did the right thing and end up dropping the
(21:37):
ball and he starts just yelling.
Speaker 1 (21:40):
At me, Joe, and I like, oh snap.
Speaker 2 (21:47):
And then as soon as we got in the locker room,
he you know, he he came up to me, he goes, hey,
you know, if I yell at you, that means I
like you. And I was like, you know, you must
really love me, then, bro, you know that was kind
of like those those moments where you know he was
getting on you. That's the stuff you remember, you like,
(22:08):
or you know, the stuff when we'd be training out
and throwing on a field or something. Those are always
the great memories that you'll remember. Yeah, it's the big
plays of that and the other, but I think it's
the behind the scenes stuff is that was my favorite.
Speaker 4 (22:26):
I would have to agree with you, man, if he
gets on you, he sees potential in you. And that's
why he got on your your ass all the time.
Speaker 5 (22:32):
He got a Robbie my rookie year. I didn't really
like him my rookie year.
Speaker 4 (22:36):
I mean, he was just getting on my case just NonStop,
and it was kind of kind of mind fucking me
so much. I couldn't be myself out there. Sometimes I
couldn't run the right route because I was just thinking
so much, because there was just so much on the plate.
Aff First I got a coach telling me to do this,
I got Tom telling me to do this, and then
finally you just figure it out and it all clicks.
(22:57):
It took me about halfway through my rookie year, and
then obviously going in my second year, it clicked to
a whole other level. I mean, we went for twenty
one touchdowns total in cooling the playoffs, but just my
rookie year, he was on my case. I remember I
ran a flag route and I ran inside the guy
instead of getting outside of him, and he flipped out
on me in the meeting after the practice and told
(23:19):
me he's never gonna throw me the ball again. And
like I got buyer and alg Crumpler saw it too,
and then he just he just tapped on my die
and he was like, yop, gronk, don't worry about that.
He's just Tom, just being Tom Man. Just don't worry
about keep doing you. And then it kind of like,
you know, put a fire under your ass though, and
that's what Tom was so great at doing it. I
(23:39):
didn't really realize that's what he was doing either, Like
he was just trying to get the best out of you,
and it kind of lit a fire, you know, under
my ass. And then I just wanted to prove Tom wrong,
like all right, I'm gonna run this flag route every
time now and you're never gonna throw me the ball,
but I'm gonna be open by five yards and you're
gonna look like the idiot now And that happened, and
then then he threw me the ball about six.
Speaker 5 (24:00):
Hundred more times from there on out.
Speaker 2 (24:02):
So that was also that example is an example of
why Tom was Tom because he knew what kind of
guy each guy was. Like, he could challenge Rob, he
could challenge me because we retaliated to that challenging like
in a whole nother like. That was the way he
got us going. You know, other guys he didn't do
that with, and he would do it in a different way,
(24:24):
you know. Then that's that's that's the sign of a
good leader is when someone knows what to get out
of the guys and how to get it out of them.
Speaker 4 (24:33):
And I've seen this before Coach Baichick and Tom challenging
wide receivers and they don't and they don't step up
to the play after the challenge. And let me tell you,
those wide receivers or tight ends were gone the next week.
So hey, if you don't step up to the challenge,
(24:53):
you know you're gone. That's why I love football, That's
why I love sports because there ain't no politics here.
Speaker 5 (24:59):
Buddy. It's either you got it or you don't.
Speaker 2 (25:01):
Swin or swim, swim sink or Swim.
Speaker 1 (25:05):
Thanks for listening.
