Si un medicamento se contamina, puede ser mortal. Esto quedó claro en una clínica de Colombia cuando, poco antes de la pandemia, varios niños recibieron quimioterapia contaminada con una bacteria. Pero lo que podría haber sido un caso aislado en realidad es una muestra de cómo el negocio de la medicina se sobrepone a las necesidades de pacientes vulnerables. En este episodio conversamos con Kendall Taggart, periodista en Bloomberg News, que ha investigado la cadena de suministro mundial de medicamentos; y con el colombiano Javier Guzmán, experto en salud pública y exdirector de la agencia estatal encargada de la revisión de medicamentos, para entender por qué en regiones como América Latina las farmacéuticas y el control de calidad no están necesariamente alineados.
