Speaker 1 (00:00):
M m m m. Hey everyone, it is between the

(00:34):
strenth Franccene and you are listening to Eyes up here
with Francy. I'm the iHeart Radio Network for where we
get the podcasts. As always, I enjoined on the slabs, Chad, Chad.
I think we have a very special episode today. But
before we get into it, how are you.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
I'm doing great. I'm getting all summer slammed on this
summer recap. I'm some are slammed up.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
Summer slammed up. We're gonna do a recap. Two nights
of Action took place in New Jersey.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Yeah, the Garden State, that's your own base. Yes, it
was for a very long time home of many Summer slams.
By the way, this is like New Jersey. Yeah, summer slams.
New Jersey is like the unofficial home of Summer slam.
Of course, you know, the first one was in New York,

(01:31):
but the second one was in New Jersey, and then
like they've had at least that's got to be at
least a fifth in New Jersey. Sow. Yeah, a lot
of history, a lot of history in the Jersey. We
used to say the Dirty Jersey.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
The Dirty Jersey. Yeah, I think who was it? Michael
Cole one night said the swamps of New Jersey. I
was like, Oh, is that where they are there in the.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
Swamp, Well, that's the meadowlands. The meadowlands is definitely the
swamp area he called them. Now, I would have loved
to have seen a close up camera angle of him
saying this. That would have been the only way I
would have believed him making this comment if they did
a close up camera angle of it.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
Yeah, I think it was Michael Cole. I could be wrong,
but one of the guys he didn't have a British accent,
so I'm thinking it was Michael.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
When I was when I was watching it, my youngest
daughter Breed came in the room and said, who's this
Australian guy that keeps talking during the show. He said,
he's British, not Australian man. Wade Barrett hits you with
some like boo like some hard hitting analytical zingers while
he's commentary.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
I love Wade on commentary. I think he's great. And
when he digs into Michael Cole for getting names wrong
and moves wrong like, I love it. I love listening
to him. Plus the you know me. I'm a sucker
for a English or British accent or Australian accent. Every
time I hear one, I just sit there.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
But a nine year old can't be wrong on this one.
I had to say I had a degree with But yeah,
I guess he is Australian.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
You're right, O, heay's something. I don't care what he is.
He could talk all day long and I will just
sit there and listen. You can read the phone book.
But uh, anyway, let's get into Summer Slam, and we'll
start with Saturday night. I was lucky enough I got
home at a decent time from Russell Khan, which, by
the way, thank you everybody who came out to see
me at Russell Khan Newark this year. Had a really

(03:37):
good time and I was home at a decent time,
so I got to watch it in full and h
the first match that started, we found Roman Reigns and
jay Us against bron Breaker and Bronson Reid. And as
I was watching this one, I remember you saying, I'm

(04:00):
pretty sure it was you. Didn't you say that you
didn't see anything special in bron Breaker?

Speaker 2 (04:07):
No, no, no, I don't like I so I love
bron Breaker. It's Bronson Reid. I don't really love. Oh okay,
no bron Breaker. I have Bron Breaker his money on
my paper.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
I thought when he's early on, when you said you
didn't like him, I can find the tea. No, no,
I think you did say something like that.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
No, no, no, I've always loved Bron Bronson Reid is
the one I've always been saying, no, no, no, I
think he's in too much of an elevated spot. I
don't think he's that great. He's the one. He's the
one I and especially now the spot they have, man,
I'm like, oh my god, this is the wrong guy.
But well, no, Bron I love. I think Bron is

(04:51):
the future.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
Yeah, I could have. I wish I confess.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
No, that's one where I would you know, I could
play the dumb guy and make the joke. That's the shit.
I think bron is the man. I thought he is
the absolute future of this this company for sure.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
Well, if I ever find the clip, you guys know
that I will post it here and that one I
crossed my heart, shove it up his ass and and
tell him that he is wrong. And I wish I
could find the clip because I remember gushing over this kid,
and and I would bet money that this guy right
here was like I don't really say it, I don't

(05:27):
say it.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
Nope, Non, I'm gonna make.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
Un because we never really talked about Bronson Reed before.
We never really.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
Point That's why.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
Okay, Well, if I ever find it, there will be
a future Eyes up Here episode where I just ship
all over.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
Chad for please, I walk up, I'll join in.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
I got to find it now. I'm gonna I want
to mission to find that clip. But anyway, what did
you think of this match?

Speaker 2 (05:59):
I thought it was a match I did. Yeah, I
loved it. Roman in this opener though, I just feel like, honestly,
like he hasn't wrestled since WrestleMania. Don't love him in
the opener, But man, this guy took some hits. I mean,
Roman was getting beat to hell with some of these
bumps that he took, you know, really hard hitting shots

(06:20):
from everybody here. They clearly want jay Uso to be
the man too at some point down the road, so
he gets another big win. But I thought it was
a great opener. You know, a lot of speed, a
lot of movement. I mean, you can't really say much
about it. They just they were all working pretty hard here.

(06:40):
I was very much into this this opener, but I
just felt it was a weird spot for Roman because
I thought that a guy like of his caliber shouldn't
be in the opening match in a tag unless they're
again they're gonna just build some long ass story. I mean,
he takes the move that helps lead to the wind.
But you know Roman in the opener, I don't know.
I fell a little heard about that one.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
So yeah, Roman and Jay get the win over Bron
and Bronson, Ron and Braun, b and b Ron and well,
if you shortened it, it could be Bron and Braun and.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
The Oracle Paul Hayman. Now he's got a new little nickname.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
Yeah, okay, well the Oracle.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
I thought it was.

Speaker 1 (07:22):
I thought it was a strong opener.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
Yeah, you need a strong.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
Opener, uh, for for these type of big shows. And
I was into it. I enjoyed it. I thought they
did some cool spots. I love Braun Breaker, I love him.
I've said this since he debuted. I think he is
going to be huge, huge, huge in the w w E.

(07:46):
He's got speed, he's got agility, he's got a look
to him and he's just his movements are so fluent
and quick, and I just love watching him work. So
this for me was a very very good opening match
and I enjoyed it a lot. So that one sums up.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
And I put down a bron great heel. I mean,
knows how to work the crowd where they can easily
be cheering this guy. He literally knows how to work
them and get them to boo him in the right spots.
You know, when their guys are down, he can turn
to the crowds tell him was shut up, and they
just start booing. And that is so old school. And
I love when he took his single it down and

(08:27):
then put it back.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
Up and put it back down.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
I love that it was just again it was just
to get them booing because he was getting so hyped
and he's he's great, uh, And this really was. It
was a hot opener. And again you know, this is
this is WWE for you. They know how to do it.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
So the second match was for the WWE Women's Tight
Team Championship. We see the friends Alexa Bliss and Charlotte
Flair and we seen Brikel Rodriguez again with Roxanne Perez
substitute duoting for Live Morgan once again because Live is
on the shelf. And let me just start this. I

(09:05):
love this alexas Charlotte little frenemies thing that they're doing.
I think it's adorable and I think they look like
they are having the best time with it. They look
like they're really enjoying it. So that makes me happy
because you can tell that they're happy facially. But I thought,
I thought this match was fun. That's all I can

(09:29):
say about it. It was fun. They had a couple
of good spots in there. We got new champions because
they put the belts on Alexa and Charlotte. But I just,
you know, I thought for what it was worth, I
thought it was a good time and it was enjoyable
to watch.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
Yeah, I agree, I liked it a lot. I love
that finish where they had a little misstep and looked
like that Charlotte was going to kick her, but she didn't,
and Alexa hit the sister Abigail one two, three, new champs,
and then they're still teasing in a little bit where
she pulled her in for the aggressive hug. No complaints.

(10:09):
I think, honestly, this was my favorite women's match we've
watched in the last three weeks. Really, I enjoyed this
one a lot. YEP. I think that I love this
pairing as well. I think this is a good little
story with these two because you know, down the road,
I'm sure they'll blow it up at some point, but
I like them together. It's a good little greue.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
Yeah, they're cute. Yep. They worked hard, all four of them,
so it was fun to watch. We get into this
next match, which now everybody knows. I don't watch w
W religiously, so I wasn't sure what was happening. I
know there was a lot of buzz on the internet
about Karen Cross not being used, and you know, the

(10:52):
fans want to see them and all this stuff, so
I'm not sure if this is a new angle, if
they just arted this. But it was Sammy Zane with
Karen Cross with Scarlett, and I didn't know the backstory
on it. I didn't really understand what they were fighting over.
There was one part where Scarlett puts the pipe in

(11:13):
front of Sammy and tells him to use it on
her husband, which I wasn't I got a little confused
at that point. I was like what's happening is she
turning on her husband? But then you know it didn't
work out. He didn't use it and it ends up
being that Sammy defeats him, and yeah, I didn't. Was

(11:35):
this a filler match?

Speaker 2 (11:36):
Like?

Speaker 1 (11:36):
What was this?

Speaker 2 (11:39):
Well, they've been they've been having a feud for a
couple months on TV maybe two months, where Cross is
trying to bring the dark side like out of Sammy
sees through him, he knows that he's really there's a
bad guy in there and he wants to embrace it,
and Sammy say, I let him know, no, no, no,

(12:01):
And they had this match and that's why at the end,
after Sammy beats him, he says, we're done.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
Okay, So what was it like a mentoring thing? Was
he trying to mentor him to bring him to the
dark side? Was that the okay?

Speaker 2 (12:14):
And that's why people were getting into Cross and that's
why there was this clamoring to have him on TV.
And I'll be honest with you, I love Cross and
I get I think he's drastically misused, but there was
really not a great reception for him on TV like
there is on social media that with that giant packed

(12:35):
arena wasn't going uber nuts for him like they were
Jay Uso, Roman Reigns and some of the other babyfaces.
They wasn't really that reception. So is this more of
just an online backing for Cross and there is a
arena backing, so yeah.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
I don't know. And I also thought that the crowd
noise at the arena was minimal. I didn't know if
certain parts were not miked or because sometimes you can
hear them really, really well, and then other times it
sounded like no one was getting a response. And I'm
just like, this can't this crowd can't be this dead,

(13:14):
because they were dead for a lot of different matches
and I saw that they you know, but I see
people cheering, but I can't hear it. So I don't
know if they were having audio problems. I have no idea,
but maybe maybe Yeah, I'm not really sure, but you know,
some people are more over than others in certain places,
in certain areas. So I love the look of him

(13:38):
and his wife, Oh this Arlotte. I mean, they look
like a million bucks and I think he can work.
I just think they need they need something more than this.
This didn't do it for me, Like I don't know
like they And again I'm gonna say they worked hard.
Everybody works hard. It's Summer Slam. You know, everybody's putting

(13:59):
on their game and they're working hard. But when you're
not a when you're a casual finging and you still
can't pick up on what's happening to me, that's a
problem because we're here to tell stories and I had
no idea what their story was, right, So it didn't
hit home for me. But looking at those two, I

(14:22):
think their money one hundred. They just need to be
put in the right angle. So I don't know. That
match really didn't do it for me, and I hate
to say that.

Speaker 2 (14:31):
I agree.

Speaker 1 (14:33):
Okay. The next match after Sammy and Karen, it was
a w W Women's Championship Tiffany Stratton against Jade Cargill.
Both girls looking incredible coming to the right. I'll say
it again, Jade Kergill looks like an action figure superhero

(14:55):
from like DC Comics or something. She is just chiseled
to the point where it's like, do you ever eat
a carb? What is happening? She looks fantastic, she always
has great gear, and Tiffany's just adorable. This was a
fun match. You know. I was a little worried just

(15:16):
because both of them are kind of still green, you know,
and like usually you have a vet there to carry
the match. So I was just like, man, I hope
nothing goes awry or anything. But I was entertained, you know.
I thought they told the story well, they did their job,
They took some nice bumps from each other, and I

(15:39):
liked the match. I liked that they kept the belt
on Tiffany, and you know, because I think she has
a little more to do before she drops it. So
I was a fan of this one. I gave this
one a thumbs up as well.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
Me too. I think that they clearly see something with Tiffany.
They kept Jade protected since the second she got there,
and for her first big pay per view, like defeat, singles,
defeat to be at the hands of Tiffany strand like
that one two three in the middle of the ring.
Tiffany is money. So I just, yeah, I was like, wow, there, clearly.

(16:18):
I mean, she beat Trish at Evolution. I mean, are
they not trying to make her the next Trish then
down the road if they're giving her wins like this,
So yeah, they're clearly, clearly putting the rocket on Tiffany.
And you know what I mean, after watching WWE unreal,
I want to put a rocket on you, Tip, I

(16:40):
want to put a rocket on your ass.

Speaker 1 (16:42):
Okay, yeah, I agree. She's twenty five years old, She's
got her whole life ahead of her. There's a lot
more to do with Tiffany Strand at this point. But
that was That was a good match. I really liked it.
I think the girls worked really hard and they put
on a good performance, so that one got a thumbs up.
This is this next match I was super excited for

(17:03):
because I have become a mark for Logan Paul not
gonna lie. I think this guy has everything everything, and
I think he's the next Miss I really do. He's
so freaking good at everything. Everything he does, he's.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
So good at My first comment was Logan needs world title.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
Oh my god. Drew McIntyre, who I love Drew and
Logan Paul. Uh. They defeated Randy Orton and Jelly Roll.
Now here's my problem. I have a huge problem with
this match.

Speaker 2 (17:44):
Okay, oh wow, I'd love to hear it.

Speaker 1 (17:46):
Huge problem. I was into it big time until they
put Jelly Roll through the announcing table.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
Okay, hated that was protecting himself so clearly, No, when
they started to get him up, he should have been dead.

Speaker 1 (18:09):
He's not a worker, he's not a wrestler. He should
have been dead, buried, goodbye. No, what do they do?
They do like a spirit of seventy six kids leaving
And I said to my husband, if he gets back
in that ring, I am going to get a tomato.
I'm going to throw it at the screen. I'm gonna
be hot. Gets right back in there and starts raising Hell,

(18:34):
he is not a wrestler. What does that tell you?
And then I see a clip of triple Ah.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
Man, that was the greatest thing.

Speaker 1 (18:45):
He should have never got up. He should have been dead.
If they wanted him to get his shit in, he
should have got everything in before they did the table spot.

Speaker 2 (18:57):
I agree, I agree.

Speaker 1 (18:58):
So I did not like that at all. That pissed
me off. As much as I love watching Drew and
Logan like, this match really left the bit taste in
my mouth. I didn't like it.

Speaker 2 (19:09):
Yeah, no, you're right right, team went over love that
the Heels won. I think that was great. I mean,
people like crazy just panning the Jelly Roll involvement. But
be honest with you, as much as I don't love it,
I think that Jelly Roll wasn't awful, but he wasn't
good either, Like I just he was okay.

Speaker 1 (19:33):
Okay, I thought he was. He was good for a
non wrestler. It was very clear that he went and
trained and went over things, and I think he got
he grasped it very well. I just don't like when
they take a person who isn't trained and isn't a

(19:58):
real wrestler and they make him look like Superman. Right.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
I agree that should have killed.

Speaker 1 (20:05):
Him and he should have been out of the match. Yeah,
So I would have preferred them to do. And I
know it's a big spot and it's a it's a
huge pop for jelly Roll. I get it, but they
should have left him lying there, or they should have
did that after the fact. They should have let him

(20:25):
get all his ship in and then after the match
was done or whatever, put him through the announced table
and not let him get up.

Speaker 2 (20:34):
Maybe that's why Bunny XO loves Jelly for who Jelly is.

Speaker 1 (20:38):
Bunny Xo was very cute.

Speaker 2 (20:41):
She loves Jelly for who Jelly is. She loves Jelly
for his you know, millions and millions of dollars je
Jelly for.

Speaker 1 (20:50):
His beautiful voice and his agility in the ring. I
get it. I just I was infuriated. I you know,
I think Jelly rolls a great singer, you know, and
he's a good actor because I saw him in the
Sylvester Staloon Show. He had a spot in that, and
I said, oh wow, he can act very nice. He

(21:12):
can work a little bit. That's great. Let's have a
celebrity come out and do something, but don't get up
after you get killed. That just it takes so much
away from the business. I just don't like it. I
didn't like it. I was pissed off again. I love
Drew McIntyre, love Logan Paul. I hate it that spot. Yeah,

(21:34):
he should have been dead and I'm gonna leave it
at that.

Speaker 2 (21:38):
You know what I think in the middle for that one,
I think we need a Queen of extreme running Caine
to the nuts on that one, right right through the wickets.

Speaker 1 (21:48):
It should have been done after the fact. That way
he didn't have to get up, do something else to
where he looks like Superman. Not that. Oh that irked
me like that. I'm sorry, And if anybody disagrees with me,
don't care my opinion.

Speaker 2 (22:07):
I just didn't think I would say positive about the
entire match because I gotta be anested. I thought the
I thought the build up was a little lame. You know,
the table spot at the talk show, I thought that
was a little lame. In twenty twenty five, I don't know,
didn't really love Jelly Rolls involvement so far, but delivered.

(22:30):
You could teach a big guy his size to do
that little round black hole slam. I'm sure with enough
practice so I could see they put that in. But
I completely agree with you. He goes through that little
lego table thing. He should have been out.

Speaker 1 (22:45):
He should have been dead. And that's my two cents.
So like the guys, they worked hard, Like I said,
everybody worked hard, but that spot just it got my
go So I don't like it. Sorry, don't like it.
We're moving all and World Heavyweight Championship match we have,

(23:06):
which we think is the main event. Here see him
Punk against Gunther and we see see him Punk go over.
And I like this match. I thought it was great.
There were allowed to go to sleeps in it. I
was about to go to sleep. I was freaking tired.
So when see him punk wins, I go upstairs because

(23:27):
I'm just like, I'm out, and I go upstairs to
go lay down, and my husband tweets me it's not over,
and I'm like, seriously, are we getting are we doing
this money in the bank? Shit? Now? Excuse me? And
they did so right after see him, punk wins, Seth
Rawlins comes down, he cashes in, and we have another

(23:49):
new champion in Seth Rowllins.

Speaker 2 (23:52):
Burn it down, burn it.

Speaker 1 (23:54):
Down, I mean the curb stomp. Who doesn't like a
good curb stomp? Every now and again they got I
honestly didn't think there was gonna be a cash in.
I was like, all right, I'm done.

Speaker 2 (24:05):
And they played everybody. They did it well. You know,
they've thrown out false reports. I mean, hey, it's like
when Samman was blind. You know everybody.

Speaker 1 (24:14):
Well, I mean, I've been injured and being blind. They're
like two different things. Everybody thought that Seth was hurt.
And I love what Becky goes, oh did I mislead
you by my cryptic tweets? Like she was like she
posted something like you know, she was egging on people
because he was really injured and blah blah blah. So

(24:36):
I mean, they worked everybody, and I just didn't think
it was gonna happen tonight or that night rather Saturday night,
and it did, and it was shocking, and the crowd
loved it, and we have a new world heavyweight champion.
So sad for Punk, but happy for Seth and I.
But I think I collectively, I think the match with

(25:00):
Confer was good. I'm a big fan of his. Now
do we know that if his nose was really broken
or if he giggd because.

Speaker 2 (25:09):
For me, that's a good question. I don't know. I
thought the gig too.

Speaker 1 (25:13):
Yeah, because he was underneath there for a while, and
I'm saying to myself, if he comes up bloody, there's
a gig happening. And then people were starting to say
on the internet, like he needs time off for his nose,
something about his nose. And then as soon as he
gets in the ring, they're saying, oh, he's got a
broken nose or his nose is busted or something like that.

(25:34):
So I'm thinking to myself where and I'm looking at
his face, I'm like, where is the blood coming from?
Because his whole forehead was covered in blood, but he
constantly was doing this, so I'm like, Okay, where was
he bleeding from. Is it a broken nose or was
it a gig I don't know. I thought he was
under there a really long time. I thought he gigged.

(25:55):
I could be wrong, but anyway, we got a new
champ and it was It was great. It was the
right place, right time to do it, and the crowd
went wild. So I liked it.

Speaker 2 (26:07):
Did you did you see the video of the guy
leaving MetLife Stadium while the fans were singing the Seth
Browlins theme song.

Speaker 1 (26:16):
I did not.

Speaker 2 (26:17):
So he's a punk fan and the fans are doing
the just nauseating and this guy typical Jersey, right, he's
righting the escalator leaving and he's like, shut up with
that stupid song. I can't stand that song and they
keep going.

Speaker 1 (26:37):
Did they break them in a fight?

Speaker 2 (26:39):
No, you just just yelling at them.

Speaker 1 (26:41):
I didn't see that doing so.

Speaker 2 (26:43):
It was just funny because that song is awful. I mean,
it was just like the worst thing that could possibly
have but again, heal everybody gets pop but it wasn't
as bad on this show. But it was just funny.
Typical Jersey guy yelling and everyone.

Speaker 1 (27:01):
Yeah, I thought Night one was pretty strong. Like I said,
I pointed out the flaws, the stuff I didn't like,
but overall, I enjoyed Night one and I'm glad I
watched it. So then we have to go to Night
two see and Sunday evening show opens up with a

(27:22):
triple threat match, and this one, first of all, I
thought was adorable. So this guy comes out and starts
playing guitar, and I've come to find out that it's
Naomi's dad and she's rocking out with them as she's
walking to the ring, which I thought was the cutest
thing ever.

Speaker 2 (27:39):
Such a heal move. I mean, it's like what a
heel sets the tone.

Speaker 1 (27:46):
I thought it was great. I didn't see it as
a heel move.

Speaker 2 (27:50):
He's supposed to be the heel.

Speaker 1 (27:52):
You're being sarcastic. Okay says it was a moment with
her dad that it please. When your dad did that
baseball thing, that's all I heard about for a month.
Oh stop, oh please, you're the biggest heel out there.
You hate everybody. I liked it. I thought it was cute.

(28:13):
I thought it was something that they'll remember the rest
of their lives. The dad is like from like what
Cooling the Gang or something. He spent one of those
R and B bands and he played his heart out.
It was good. I really enjoyed it. But it was
Naomi against Raha Ripley and ear Sky. Sorry something was

(28:33):
in my eye. I love I love this match. I
loved the friendship between Ria and EO and how they
were trying the double team Naomi. For the most part,
I love Naomi as a heel better than a babyface.
I think she's playing this part to a tea. And

(28:53):
they did some great spots in this match, and it
kept me entertained the whole time, the whole time. And
I know you don't like Eosky and you're crazy because
that girl can work her ass off your nuts.

Speaker 2 (29:09):
Nope, they think that this match should have been a
Ria Ripley domination. She should have killed both of them,
walked out of there stomping her way back to the title.
As I mean, could this girl be anymore over with
the fans, Give her the belt, let her be the
face of that organization, and I don't know why she's

(29:30):
got to chase that girl should be the champion and
literally killing everybody. I don't know why she has to
ever be in that spot chasing.

Speaker 1 (29:40):
Ever, she is so over right now that she does
not need the belt.

Speaker 2 (29:47):
I get it, I get it, But.

Speaker 1 (29:50):
You don't get it because look at what you're saying
to me.

Speaker 2 (29:53):
You don't understand the wrong challengers, she said, But they
got her against the wrong people. It'd be different if
it was like the jade Car Gills of the world.
This Tiffany Stratton's the stars. They don't have her against
the stars. They have her against what I feel is
the second tier.

Speaker 1 (30:10):
You're you're telling me that Naomi doesn't deserve the belt
right now, and she's a second tier wrestler.

Speaker 2 (30:16):
Don't I don't see her in that top tier of
those that champions company leading position.

Speaker 1 (30:23):
Don't see You're insane, I disagree on I don't know
what show you're watching that you can honestly truly say.
This is the second time you've told me that EO
skuy is not a good worker.

Speaker 2 (30:39):
Great, I mean so amazing things. I mean, I just
not just not my cup. You don't just don't like it,
just don't don't find it a feeling. But I think
Ria should just be steamrolling through this match should have
been a squash.

Speaker 1 (30:54):
No, no one wants to see a squash. What are
you talking about? Oh you're ridiculous, dumb, dumb point of view.

Speaker 2 (31:03):
And that's why with this match. I just I told
you before we started that this match I had nothing for.
I had this next one. After this tag match, I
was like, you know what these matches are, So let
me tell you, two day SummerSlam is easier to watch
than everything we've we watched in the last few weeks.
But this tag match, I mean, it's like everything in

(31:25):
the kitchen sink plus the kitchen sink.

Speaker 1 (31:28):
What the next match? Yes, all right, well, I let
me just really quickly. The triple fourth match to me,
was so well done, and the girls were so good
and the spots were so awesome. The double teaming on Naomi.
I loved it. I loved her heeled performance, I loved
the finish. I thought everything was great. So I think

(31:50):
you're on crack and you don't know what you're talking about.
So that's my opinion. Okay, okay, whatever, Yeah, this this
one was a little crazy. It was uh w w
E the the tag titles six pack t LC match
and I know you and I were talking about the

(32:14):
the ladder match that TNA did that had the four
teams in it, and this one had six six, So yeah,
there were there were a lot of bodies in there.
The y It's six uh, the street Profits, MotorCity machine Guns,
d I y uh, Andrade and how do you say

(32:38):
that guy's theme?

Speaker 2 (32:40):
Frank oh uh? And Ran and Ray Phoenix and then
Phraxium was another team.

Speaker 1 (32:48):
Oh yeah, just as Fracy okay, yeah, and Androni and
Ray fans great, I got it. Did you like this
one or did you find it confusing? No?

Speaker 2 (32:57):
I I this I had to is completely like kind
of skipped through this one because it's too much. It's
too many guys. Sixteen minutes for a six pack ladder
match literally was ding ding like everything just thrown at you.
It's too much. It's too much, you know. And I

(33:19):
think a lot of guys in this match that are
super talented get lost that it's it's a detractor to
what they can really do when they get get that
stage like a eighty thousand seed arena. It sucks what.

Speaker 1 (33:34):
You didn't see if you skipped over it. They had
some some of the females come in and try to
climb the ladder and Candice Lay came in tried to
help her husband out.

Speaker 2 (33:47):
I saw that.

Speaker 1 (33:49):
Okay, what's that girl, b b Lash or be fab Lash?

Speaker 2 (33:55):
Yeah she last legend.

Speaker 1 (33:59):
Lash, I don't know. Uh yeah, b Fat came out,
tried to help her man. They took some nasty bumps. Uh.
Candice went through a ladder on the outside, which I
thought was a great bump. You can tell that they
they pre cut the ladder, but it's okay because she
probably would have got a really nasty injury if they
didn't do that. But great bumps from the ladies. And

(34:23):
we saw the Wyatt six uh get the belts. So
it was a little chaotic, but there were some really
good spots. As always, it's just a lot of people
and a lot of stuff going on.

Speaker 2 (34:41):
Yeah, I mean guys like Gray Phoenix who just got
there just getting lost in the show him and I
thought him and Johnnie had a great clever spot to
try to get the belts going on the shoulders. I
thought that was different. That would you never really see
something like that in the ladder match, you know, uh,
street profits get lost in it. Motors and the machine
guns get lost in it. And these Phraxium guys. I mean,

(35:03):
they're kind of new to the roster, like they just
get lost.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
And that happened that they were on the pay per view.
You know, again they're they're there and they're getting recognition
and they're getting a payday. So it was good that
they were used, but it was kind of chaotic. We
see the Dudley's and we see the Matt and Jeffer
there in the crowd. That was very cool because they

(35:27):
have a ladder match coming up for TNA, and you know,
I guess they were taking notes on how to do
it properly.

Speaker 2 (35:36):
Because amazing that that's getting promoted on Summer Slam. You know,
DNA's boun for Glory Legends match between the Hardy's and
the Dudley's, which was so funny that a few years ago,
when we were talking about the n XT crossover, we said,
imagine having the Dudleys and the Hardy's wrestling again, and

(35:57):
here they are on Glory. I know.

Speaker 1 (35:59):
It's great. Okay, So after that, we get the women's
in her Continental Championship. It's a no DQ match.

Speaker 2 (36:07):
Your favorite Becky Lynch mean Face McGee.

Speaker 1 (36:11):
One of my favorites Lyra, You're ridiculous. This match I
thought was a little stiff. Did you watch it?

Speaker 2 (36:26):
Yes, they did.

Speaker 1 (36:27):
I thought it was a little stiff when they took
out the Singapore kenes and they started cleating each other.

Speaker 2 (36:32):
Yeah, it was.

Speaker 1 (36:33):
It was a little stiff. And then there was one
point where they used the zip tie. Did you see
this one?

Speaker 2 (36:39):
Yes, Lyra, Literally.

Speaker 1 (36:41):
Her hand came out and she put it back in. Yeah,
it was bad camera angle at that point.

Speaker 2 (36:47):
I thought there was a lot of bad camera angles
on finishers throughout the night. So yeah, it wasn't just that,
but there was very stiff shots, you know, and it
I mean, look, nobody knows how to swing that Singapore
came better than you, But I mean, how do you
pull back easy enough when somebody's getting caned in the ribs?

Speaker 1 (37:06):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (37:07):
That was repeatedly shot in the ribs.

Speaker 1 (37:10):
When she when she had her arms up and yeah,
the zip ty was around the post and she was
just caning her in the stomach. I'm just like, whoa
we saw an appearance of Bailey comes out and tries
to interfere. I like the inclusion of her. I just
thought it was it was It was a good match,

(37:31):
a little stiff at times. But we see, uh, your
favorite Becky Lynch go over, and you know she is
the Intercontinental champion, So I guess you weren't happy about that.

Speaker 2 (37:48):
MEMI face McGee Okay it's her new nickname.

Speaker 1 (37:51):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (37:52):
This match was way too long, like, way way too long,
way too much of going underneath the ring for things.
I just every time I turned around, they're finding something
else in it, like the wrench, the oversize I had

(38:12):
it written down as the oversized Acme wrench. Remember Acme
from Looney Tunes? That was what's the triple I need
an Acne wrench. They had the biggest wrench that the
guy in the nosebleeds could see. Yeah, but I said

(38:32):
when we watched the evolution about Becky Lynch that they
needed to change her music because she cannot be coming.
And they changed the music.

Speaker 1 (38:40):
Heard you.

Speaker 2 (38:41):
I mean, if I haven't told you that we've got
the reach that you know we do, it helps, But
the mean face is just so bad. It's so bad.

Speaker 1 (38:55):
I really I really liked the spot with the chair,
but there was one point where they had the chair.
Yes okay, yeah, yeah, okay, she had it. She had
her her head through the chair, but they were going
back and forth, like hitting the announced table and then
like or would try to get Becky and go backwards,
and I'm saying to myself, she can't see where she's

(39:18):
going backwards. There was one point where the one leg
of the chair could have like hit Becky like right
in the face. It was dangerous, you know what I mean,
Like it was like a crazy spot and we were like, whoa,
what are they doing? Like I don't know if that
was called or what. But once her head was in there,
I thought it was pretty you know, a pretty cool

(39:39):
visual to see because she just looked dead. It's just
like Jelly Bell should have been dead when he went
through that table, just like the.

Speaker 2 (39:47):
Toxins, the toxins of the fire exting was sure. I
think it was Wade Barrett that said that. I never
thought of it that way, you know, the noxious gases
or whatever it was. He said, somebody pointed out whatever
was inside of the the fire extinguisher, and I was like,
I don't think anybody's ever pointed it out whenever a
fire extinguisher's been used in wrestling, Like, what is actually

(40:08):
being exposed to the persons? What they're getting sprayed in
their face. I was like, you know what, that's some
smart commentating right there. Yeah, all right, menie face McGee
keeps the belt. She does.

Speaker 1 (40:24):
Yeah, And I like Becky I don't. I don't know
why you don't.

Speaker 2 (40:27):
I do.

Speaker 1 (40:27):
I think she's very talented. But anyway, the United States
Championship match, it was a steel cage which I like.
Solo goes again to Jacob Fattu and defeats him. See
as his thugs come out. Yeah, I want it more

(40:48):
from this match.

Speaker 2 (40:49):
Yeah, I was underwhelming a lot more from this match,
I agree.

Speaker 1 (40:53):
Yeah, we see the return of Jimmy Uso again. He's
going crazy on the outside with the big leg. You know,
I don't know. I just I don't think. I don't
think there was enough. Like I feel like I blinked
and it was over kind of deal.

Speaker 2 (41:13):
If you fast forward it too hard on your peacock,
you would have missed it because it was like it
just I don't know, it felt like it was rushed,
maybe because the previous match was like twenty five thirty
minutes or something. Maybe maybe that's what it had to me.
It's just it just it's again, this is going back
to my thing about two day events that are not WrestleMania.

(41:34):
As much as I love a huge steel cage match,
of a few like this. Yeah, you didn't need this
on the show. I hate to say it, of God.

Speaker 1 (41:43):
But if you do it, if you're gonna do it.

Speaker 2 (41:46):
Yeah, give it time, give it to us.

Speaker 1 (41:48):
Yeah, give us what we want. And this one just
left me kind of like, eh, all right, it was okay.
The best part about it was Jacob diving off the
top at the end.

Speaker 2 (42:00):
Yeah, And why wasn't that in the match? Is a
spot take? Maybe because we just watched forty seven guys
in a tag team ladder match thirty minutes ago doing
the same crap. So let's where I get it. Just
some of these things needed to be reworked, recut, pre show,
something that SmackDown. I don't know, it just not all

(42:21):
this stuff needed to be on this show. That's it's overkill.
It's just absolute overkill.

Speaker 1 (42:28):
All right. Next match was Intercontinental Championship Match. We have
Dominic Mysterio defeating AJ Styles.

Speaker 2 (42:36):
Kind of feel the same way about this match too.
I love the finish of this match. I thought that
was an awesome I love that they make him like
pseudo Eddie Guerrero, you know, and he uses Eddie Gurero
tactics to win matches. But it felt the same way
as the other match, Like I would have loved to
have seen more out of this, and they only got

(42:58):
like ten minutes and that was it. Boom boom boom done.

Speaker 1 (43:01):
Do you feel like they're kind of phasing AJ out
because his time is coming to an end?

Speaker 2 (43:08):
Possibly? I mean I think I think that's a good
way to look at it. But I mean semi main
event on SummerSlam, that's a that's a tough phase out.

Speaker 1 (43:17):
Yeah, I mean taking a loss, which who cares win?

Speaker 2 (43:21):
Or well, he's putting over a guy that they're getting
behind big time. I mean, you know, there's rumors they
want to make Dominic mcstereo the face of Triple A,
so it makes him look really good to beat AJ,
unless you know, they put AJ in that storyline with
the you know, the bloodline or whatever, the Fatus give
him a run at the Icy Belt or something before

(43:41):
he retires. I don't know. But it was a good match.
It's just ten minutes. Was like semi main event ten
minute match, like that's it.

Speaker 1 (43:49):
Yeah, Yeah, because AJ can go, and I wanted to
see a lot more from him.

Speaker 2 (43:55):
So like this is where I would have put the
triple threat women's match from the first uh, the opener.
I would have put this on a year. Yeah, I
would have put that here. With the finish that you got.
You got to roll up finish. It wasn't a title change,
it wasn't anything great, it was a roll up finish.
I want to put that year before the main event,
and that's it. I would have pushed everything up, maybe

(44:17):
put the stupid tag team match the ninety seven guys,
put them at the opener, because you.

Speaker 1 (44:24):
Need something hot at the opener. You need something hot
that everybody that's not hot.

Speaker 2 (44:29):
All those guys falling off ladders.

Speaker 1 (44:32):
Not when it's no, I don't think so, not as
an opener.

Speaker 2 (44:38):
Well, I just you know, I to me, it's it
just it cheapened the fact. I know they'd stacked the
title matches towards that that half of the show, but
it just it. I think they rushed a cage match
and an icy title match. I think that was just
those two suffered big time.

Speaker 1 (44:55):
I think, okay, all right, and now we're going into
the fine match. It's its main event, it's the undisputed
WWE Championship street fight, Cody Rhodes against John Cena. This
is the one that I could not wait to see.
This is the one I was very very excited about,

(45:19):
and this is the one that left me like at
the end, I was deflated at the end. I hate
it the way it went down all weekend. Everybody's saying

(45:39):
to me, what do you think is gonna happen? And
my answer was, I think Cody Rhodes is gonna turn heel. Yeah,
because when John Cena turned babyface this week, it was
the buzz of the town. Everybody couldn't believe it. Why
did they turn John Cena babyface? Blah blah blah. I
don't know the exact reason. I've had commonversations with people.

(46:02):
One of the things that came up was maybe Heel
Sena didn't bring the merchandise in for WWE. True, maybe
money was a factor, because you heard the ovation when
he came out.

Speaker 2 (46:16):
Oh my god, it was insane.

Speaker 1 (46:17):
Deafening, deafening. Everybody loves baby Face Sina except for me.
I love hel Sena. I would have bought a Heel
Seena T shirt if I was one to buy T
shirts like that for other people. But I think they
turned him so quickly and changed on, you know, I like,

(46:41):
was this in the plans to change him, like five
months in or whatever it is. I don't know, but
I didn't like it. And with brock Lesnar returning, I
think that whole thank you Sena and the brock Lesnar
thing took away from Cody's win because he kind of
held the belt up and was like see.

Speaker 2 (47:03):
You later and left. Yes, every time, I hated it.

Speaker 1 (47:09):
I think that kid deserves a lot more than what
he got. I know, he's got the belt. I know
he gets a handsome payday. I understand all that, but
it just looked like this trumped his victory and I
didn't like it at all.

Speaker 2 (47:25):
I agree with you it was a great match, it was.
They had some great false finishes match.

Speaker 1 (47:32):
I like, you know, I mean a street fight. It's
like you know, in ECW they would really go in
the street, but in like a place like Metlake Stadium,
you can't really leave the stadium to go fight in traffic,
you know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (47:47):
So they did you need to get out to the right.

Speaker 1 (47:51):
Yes, they did what they could around you know, around
the arena and leaving the ring and going over the guardrails.
It was great. They took a lot of great movie.
There was a lot of you know, a lot of
back and forth, back and forth, which I liked, a
lot of selling, a lot of false finishes. I like
that kind of stuff that keeps you on your toes.

(48:12):
I just was hoping Cody holding that belt, hugging John
and then turning around and taking that belt and hitting
John with it and leaving John Laney. That's what I wanted.
I didn't want Cody to be like, Okay, thanks a lot,
to see you later and just walk off. It fell

(48:34):
flat for me, and I was just kind of like, eh, whatever,
So I just I I'm okay with Cody getting the belt.
I don't like the way they left the scenario with
him and John being friends again. I just don't like it.

Speaker 2 (48:49):
Yep. Yeah, everybody was just waiting for, like, Okay, when
is it happening. Now, It's gonna happen. It's gonna happen now.
Even when Rock came out. I'll be honest with you,
I was waiting for Cody to hop back up and
shake his hand or something like. I ever, because Triple
H was the one who kept saying, oh, you ain't

(49:10):
seen nothing yet. Oh on Sunday, you ain't seen nothing yet,
Like they're getting you like, oh my god, Oh it's
going on, It's gonna happen. It's this and that arman.
I think everybody was waiting for if you smell, I
think everybody had something in their mind that was gonna happen.
And as amped as I am to see Brock back,
as I love the intensity that Brock still brings, you're like, okay, well,

(49:36):
Cody's got the belt again, so now we're gonna get
guys just fed to Cody for the time being, and
then there you go. You're off to the races. I've seen.
It's just gonna have greatest hits and have a nice
soft victory on his last match, and boom, that'll be it.

Speaker 1 (49:49):
Yeah. I don't know. I wasn't happy with it. I
I'm not the biggest Brock Lesnar fan out there, so
like him coming back, I was just like oh wow,
And then I was just like ugh, oh, well, like okay,
so him and seen he are going to do some stuff.
What's next for Cody? This just left Cody and like

(50:11):
an oblivion, like what's going on? It overshadowed his victory.
I didn't like it. I think he deserves more. That
kid is a workhorse for that company, and it was
just a shitty ending to me. So love the match.
I'm fine with him going over. I didn't like the
ending at all, just me.

Speaker 2 (50:33):
There's one guy left who has to come back, one guy.

Speaker 1 (50:42):
You're gonna tell us who it is.

Speaker 2 (50:44):
I was gonna see if you guessed.

Speaker 1 (50:46):
I don't know. Your thoughts are not my thoughts, so
I have no idea.

Speaker 2 (50:50):
Some may say there's no chance in.

Speaker 1 (50:53):
Hell, but oh, you're ridiculous.

Speaker 2 (50:55):
Brock is back. Brock is back.

Speaker 1 (50:58):
So what is he going to wrestle in eighty year
old Vince McMahon.

Speaker 2 (51:01):
No, I'm just saying, but Vince's come. Vince will be back.
I'm telling you, mark my words. Hall of Fame, Hall
of fame.

Speaker 1 (51:10):
Maybe after he's done with his court case, or his
two court cases.

Speaker 2 (51:15):
Maybe after Vince clears up his vehicular issues. Maybe Vince
Vince can? I can I point out one more thing
too about summer Slam. Hats off to Nick Nick Hogan
and the red and yellow attire that he was wearing.
I love that. That looked great. That was a spiffy
little tie combination that he had on. That was I

(51:38):
love the Pizon people were ripping the amount of tributes
for Hogan, the guy freaking built the company. They should
have a tribute every show for Hogan at this point,
but I love that they They made it exclusively about
Summer Slam, yet didn't show one Summer Slam clip. But
then the show Nick and Nick was wearing the red
and yellow. I thought that was cool. So final point,

(52:01):
did I enjoyed Summer Slam? So next thing? I mean,
do we have to tackle aw next because we've hit TNA,
we've hit the Women's WWE pay per view, and now
we've done a full Summer Slam.

Speaker 1 (52:15):
Yeah, we'll do it. I mean, I'm down for these
pay per views. I enjoy them. Again. I can't sit
there and watch every episode of you know, Impact and
Raw and SmackDown and all that stuff. I just I
don't have the time to do that. But I do
enjoy the pay per views. So let us know what
you think. Did you like it? Did you not like it?
I enjoyed both nights. There was a couple of things

(52:36):
I wasn't too keen on but for the most part,
I would give it a thumbs up, So leave your comments.

Speaker 2 (52:41):
I'm right there with you.

Speaker 1 (52:43):
Yeah, I think so. I think it was very entertaining.
