Speaker 1 (00:00):
We're going up, up off. This is home, you know, together,
we're lowing. I'm going to tonight to do the thing along.
I'm still are you? Oh yeah, Ship is Fire? It's
so good.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
What are you talking about? Oh, capp, I've heard of about?
Is it for children? Why are you watching this?

Speaker 1 (00:26):
It's for children?

Speaker 3 (00:27):
But the music is two hundred and twenty five percent fire?

Speaker 2 (00:33):
You love it?

Speaker 4 (00:34):
It's that got real cape Can you.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
Do the Can I get the mic a little higher?

Speaker 1 (00:43):
Fire? Oh?

Speaker 2 (00:45):
Yeah, your I do Cape Hop Demon queen. You know
it's like breaking.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
I don't even know the story break and he's.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
Breaking all these Netflix records. That's what I hear as well.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Yeah, but there's like so much story behind all of this,
Like there's like it goes deeper than this.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
This was this a comic book? What was this?

Speaker 3 (01:07):
Because you could tell the original the Demon Hunters two
of the Demon Hunters have brothers who are demons like
and they we're not gonna find out until part two.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
Like it's over, clearant like this sh is Fire preaching.

Speaker 4 (01:21):
To has really been you know, Spider Man into the
Spider Verse movies, which really hit, and then they did
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which also hit and now this
is their latest. It was going to be a theatrical run,
but Netflix picked it up. And yeah, it's just it's
so much fun. It is a kid's movie, but uh,

(01:42):
it's also for kids at heart. It's entertaining as hell.
It deals with like generations like Star.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
She's right, it's like Star Wars.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
It's made for twelve year olds, but freaking adults are
gonna love it. Are you kidding me? My daughter is
the one that turned me on to this. My daughter
is the one that freaking My daughter is the plug.
My daughter is the plug.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
It's so funny how the shit I try and get
down on to watch and then what he actually watches.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Yeah, but you try to get me to watch boring
shit man, Like we just.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
Don't have the same taste. The other day, when you're
talking about a movie and I said, well.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
I tried to get him to watch Superman, he was like,
you know, well, here's my cup of tea.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Here's the thing. You know what I was thinking because
knew we're gonna talk about this. It's like, you remember
how back in the day, in the box of ice
cream there would be vanilla chocolate in the strawberry. I
would never touch the strawberry. Now, strawberry is very popular
and people love strawberry, but for me, I would never
go near the strawberry. This shit would be empty and
there'd be a sliver of strawberry. And I was thinking

(02:50):
that while I was watching Superman. I was like, this
is obviously beautifully made and well made, and everyone in
it is talented, and obviously it's a major success and
fucking happy for every buddy, but it's just the strawberry.
For me, I'm just not into it. I was watching
it because Donald loved it so much, and I was
and I texted him like, do I have the right Superman?

Speaker 1 (03:10):
Right?

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Good look? And then he said and then he said yeah,
I love it so much. And then I said, I
wrote back, Wait, that's what I wrote. I go, We'll
always have La la land.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
Joel.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
He hates it, Joel, he hates I wanted to get
him to watch Fantastic For.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
I don't think that I'll try them.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
Don't do that, don't Joe.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
Did you like did you like the news Fantastic For?

Speaker 4 (03:36):
I loved Superman, loved it so three times in theaters.
Talked to James Gunn. I interviewed the whole cast. It
was amazing and and everyone's really sweet. I think the
movie is beautiful and funny. And the stuff he does
with flight, does that not interest you it all? I
thought he's doing some interesting camera work with the flight
in the movement on Superman that was kind of unique
and a lot of.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
Again, everyone's everyone's talented. He's obviously brilliant. The movie success,
It's just the strawberry for me.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
You got to get that you need a big screen
to watch this ship Man, because I tried to watch.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
This song have a pretty big screen, even super.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
The way they shot this is made for IMAX, because
Superman is tiny in some of these shots.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
I also didn't know like I had to. I literally
was googling these characters again because I don't know d C.
So I was mister terrific and and and girl talk
girl and that. I really didn't understand who the guy
that James Gunn always casts. What's a Nathan Fillyan. I
didn't understand that character at all. I had to look
that guy up.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
You didn't understand Guy Gardner.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
Why would I know a Guy Gardner if I don't
follow DC comics. I understand if you know d C,
you know comic books, this would all be so exciting
to you. But I kept having to pause and be like, wait,
what who is this guy? What are his powers? I
didn't understand mister Terrific powers at all. I had to
like figure that out first to follow the movie.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
That's interesting, Okay, So.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
I like the fact that they didn't do an origin
story because everybody knows how Superman got to Earth.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
Everybody knows what his parents, you know.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
I like that there was a twist on it because
everybody knows what his parent why his parents sent him
to Earth. He was He wasn't supposed to rule planet Earth,
but he was supposed to be like a god to
the humans and protect them, you know what I mean?
That was his that was his mission I saw. I
liked that twist. I like the fact that there's characters

(05:30):
in here that nobody has fucking ever heard of except
for people like me and Joell, like mister Terrific and
fucking Hawk Girl and Guy Gardner Green Lantern. I love
that fact. I love the fact that Lex Luthor is
a freaking isn't just a pompous asshole, He's actually pretty smart.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
You know what I mean, And he's like he's supposed
to be. He's supposed to be this.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
Witty, uh smart guy, and a lot of these movies
they've missed that and just made him miss Tyrant, who
is only whose only interest is to destroy Superman. The
only reason why he wants to destroy Superman is because
Superman's freaking stopping him from taking over the Earth.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
And that's the only reason why he hates this guy.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
And he disguises it with all of this other bullshit,
but the reason why is because this is the one thing,
the one thing that could stop him is this fucking
dude who drives, who flies around in under ruths.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
I love this.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
I love the way James Gunn portrayed it. I hate it.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
It's kind of like he's kind of like Tony Stark.

Speaker 3 (06:36):
No, he's Lex luthor Is. He's an evil Tony Stark exactly.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
His company, like all these people who work for him,
they're like and then all the Hawaiian shirts on the beach,
like I just didn't get, Like I didn't get like
they're all just they're down to be evil. They're just
kind of like evil henchmen.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
Well y like imagine, yeah, we talked.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
I was just gonna say, I was just gonna I
was just gonna say, I think James Gunn really leans
into the comic book aspect of it, where Marvel really
the history of Marvel. They really try to be grounded
at the grounded you can be with like superheroes who
fly and stuff. They like, they want to place you
in New York, you're familiar with everything, should feel sort
of like techtile and connected timeline wise. Uh, he's going

(07:22):
a different direction. He's like, I'm gonna lean into the
old school comp For example, no one ever thought mister
Terrific could work on screen. Like, people who knew mister
Terrific and liked mister Terrific were like, why would you
put him on screen? That's so weird. He's a weird, strange,
like abject character. But he made it work for me.
I thought, I was like, Wow, this is a Misterrific
I could get behind. He's like super funny. He's uh

(07:45):
like wearing the suit and it matches the comic book
and somehow it doesn't feel stupid to me. It's like
utterly charming. Somebody described this movie as a Saturday morning
cartoon with a multimillion dollar budget, and I think that's appropriate.
Uh It's it's fun, and it's light, it's gorgeous, and
the fight scenes look good. So it's got everything I

(08:05):
want out of a superhero movie. And I think the
emotional connect throughout that you know, maybe that's the real
punk rock. It's a corny as hell line, but damn
it, it got me. It touches me right here in my heart.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
I loved it.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
I mean, there's so many other things that we could
talk about with Superman. But Joelle, when I said Fantastic For,
you would like, don't see Fantastic For. So you didn't
like Fantastic Four.

Speaker 4 (08:33):
Listen, here's the thing. What I was saying, very specifically,
was that if Zach didn't like Superman, he should absolutely not.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
Check out Fantastic For.

Speaker 4 (08:40):
I don't think Fantastic I liked parts of fanta there's
scenes and Fantastic four, the silver Surfer on the volcano
lava thing, fantastic. Parts of the introduction of Galactus was
really cool. I think scale wise not consistent throughout, and
that really bothers me, because whether you like Eturnals or not,

(09:01):
you can't deny the scale in that movie. Is spectacular,
and I thought, if you could nail it there, why
not hear confusing? And then two, while I thought the
family dynamics were cute, they didn't drive the narrative and
that really bummed me out. I was like, it's supposed
to be a family drama after the Superhero movie, and
that's not what we got. And so I'm a little

(09:24):
I was a little tuned out. We'll have to see
what Marvel does next. I'm hopeful.

Speaker 2 (09:29):
Let's let's let's segue off of DC comics for now,
for the multi Marvel comics, let's segue off of comics
in general. We have some news to tell you. After
Donald's counts.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
Us Shore, we made about a bunch of.

Speaker 1 (09:53):
I said, here's a story natural.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
Around here. Yeah, you know, I was thinking on my
way to this recording session about the day my parents
told us they were getting divorced.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
Oh my god, I was.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
I was. I was eight years old. And my parents
did it in two sessions because there were the older
kids and there were the younger kids. So they had
sort of a matinee and an evening performance, and we
were called into the Uh. The older kids went first
and UH and then they took a break. I think

(10:43):
they probably had the inner mission and then they and
then they called me and my sister in and sat
us down, uh chriss cross apple sauce on their bedroom
floor and uh and told us they were getting divorced.
And it was very sad, but ultimately, ultimately they both

(11:06):
ended up with people that were a way better fit
for themselves. So it was painful at eight, but now
at fifty, I'm so happy that it happened. So we
The good of the divorce news is just that we

(11:30):
The good news is is that we, as you probably
may have read in the in the news, it finally happened.
We are going to reboot Scrubs with Donald Faison and
Zach Brown. Funderous applause, Daniel and Sarah. Everyone's coming back.
Everybody's everybody, everybody. Everybody's coming back. Not everyone's going to

(11:54):
be in every episode, obviously off to work around everybody's schedules,
but everybody's coming back, and it's so much fun and
we're so fucking excited. Thunderous applause. Daniel and I really
want to thank and Donald and I really want to
thank first and foremost, everybody listens to the podcast, because

(12:16):
I think it's obviously it goes without saying, but we
need to say it. The response to this podcast has
certainly been one of the main reasons that we are
have the momentum and the interest to bring back the show,
and so to be super sincere for a moment. Donald

(12:37):
and I really just want to thank every single person
that has listened to this podcast and has stood with
us and listened to us while we are well, you know,
while we did the rewatch, while we've interviewed people, while
you know, so many things have happened, and we just
we want to thank you so much for having an
interest in us. Four of us just babbling. Donald.

Speaker 3 (13:01):
You know, it's crazy how it all started. It started
from an idea. Somebody talking to me at a birthday
party saying to me, you know, it'd be cool if
you did a rewatch podcast, and I was like, what
the fuck is that?

Speaker 1 (13:20):
He was like this something like that.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
But I'm working with these people called the office ladies,
and I would be really cool if you and you could,
if you could get Zach to do it, that'd be great.
I called up Zach and I was like, Zach, would
you do this? And usually when I call up Zach.
Zach's like, Ah, what the fuck is it?

Speaker 1 (13:40):
I don't know. I don't and he was like, yeah, I.

Speaker 2 (13:43):
Meant because he's like, do you want to do a
game show?

Speaker 3 (13:45):
No? Right, and he was like and he literally was like, yeah,
I'm into it.

Speaker 2 (13:51):
And then tell Hi about the first meeting we had.
But then you relate to.

Speaker 3 (13:55):
I was late because I was. I was so fucking
baked too. I was high out of my mind.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
We went to him meeting. I think I may have
been hungover. I think I was still drinking. Yeah, I
remember being I remember I think I was still drinking
a lot at the time, and I remember my head
was fucking swelling. And I remember sitting in the stranger's
house just waiting for Donald, who was so late. But
I was like, Donald probably forgot about this meeting. And
I'm sitting here small talking with this guy.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
And we had the meeting.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
Donald comes in wreaking like cannabis sativa. Yeah, and we.

Speaker 3 (14:27):
Sit down and he explains to us what the podcast
thing would be, and we're like, yeah, that's great. And
it didn't work out, you know what I mean, for
some reason it didn't work out, And well.

Speaker 2 (14:37):
I think we got hip to like, I think we
got him to like what the kind of the office
lady I had spoke. I had a great talk with
Jenni Fisher. I remember that and she explained it all
to me, and you know, because she she was the
perfect person to talk to. And then uh, and then
then then we kind of kind of got hip to like,
oh that what he was offering us wasn't a very

(14:58):
good setup for us, Like, would be way better for
us to you know, just go to iHeart directly. And
we didn't need him.

Speaker 3 (15:06):
And so we we started talking to people and iHeart
understood it and got the got the eye, got what
we were and they were like, you know, we're going
to give you some guys to.

Speaker 1 (15:19):
Help you, you know, with the show.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
So we're gonna give you a producer and we're going
to give you an engineer. And don't worry, they are
not going to talk at all.

Speaker 1 (15:28):
Right, It's just going to be you, guys.

Speaker 2 (15:30):
It's going to be you guys. Joel is there to
facilitate the production. Daniel is there to record and provide
you with the gear. And do you remember when Daniel
it was It was literally beginning of March twenty twenty,
Daniel came over in a hazmat suit. Fully, yes, like
like the people in ET, you know, at the end
of ET. That's what Daniel looked like as he gave

(15:52):
me a like a bag with all the gear in it. Yep, Daniel,
this is where you come. Remember vividly. I remember, remember, Daniel,
what were.

Speaker 3 (16:03):
You thinking answering the door and being like just drop
it off in front?

Speaker 2 (16:07):
Daniel? What was your Daniel, what was your very first
and well I guess you didn't meet Donald, but what
was your first impression of me and your has Matt suit?
I mean I was.

Speaker 5 (16:15):
I was kind of caught up in how silly this
all was, where I'm like literally masked up, gloved up,
bringing you this equipment that I had just wiped down
with the chlorox. Yeah, and but also you know, trying
to contain myself as such big fans of you guys
that it was like just be be chill. I couldn't
see if you were being chill. I couldn't see you

(16:36):
in your he has Matt suit exactly. Give it contained
all of the the nervous shaking, but it was it
was definitely weird, definitely weird looking back at it five
years later and then.

Speaker 2 (16:47):
Joelle did I forgot did wed you before?

Speaker 4 (16:52):
No, So your first call to discuss what the Joel.

Speaker 2 (16:57):
You're doing NPR voice.

Speaker 4 (16:59):
About this is how I sound now. I've evolved, you.

Speaker 3 (17:04):
Have, but Joelle, you have met like your your evolution
is massive since we started this show.

Speaker 2 (17:12):
I know you guys. We have to always remind Joelle
because she's come off of another podcast where she's like,
I'd like to talk about Hunters Quiet Hour.

Speaker 1 (17:29):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (17:30):
So I got hired February nineteenth, twenty twenty.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
That was my first day.

Speaker 4 (17:37):
So I had been in the office for like two
and a half weeks. I was early birds, I was opening.
I was the first person in the office every day,
just hanging out with Jack, who's the president of the
Los Angeles division. And one day I come in and
he's like, hey, did you watch Scrubs?

Speaker 1 (17:53):
And I was like, I love Scrubs. Why.

Speaker 4 (17:54):
He's like, Zack and Donald are gonna call in half
an hour and we need someone to pitch them a show. Okay,
is it like a rewatch? They're like, yeah, I do
rewatch this in my sleeves, I mean my bread butter.
Let's go so I literally hopped on the phone like
twenty minutes after that and pitched you guys the show,
and we kind of just moved forward from there.

Speaker 2 (18:14):
Yeah. Well, I think we liked you so much. You
were so charming and fun and we were like, wow,
that's a no brainer, let's go with her.

Speaker 4 (18:21):
It worked out.

Speaker 2 (18:22):
Then we freaking and then we did our first episode.
Do you remember the first episode?

Speaker 1 (18:26):
Like I I remember, I cut.

Speaker 2 (18:29):
So it'll be funny. Actually, you know, Daniel, why don't
you cut it to our very first moments? Here? Okay,
here's a little here's a little clip from our here's
a here's a little clip from our our very first
time on the mics. Hello everyone, my name is Zach.

Speaker 1 (18:46):
Braf Hi, I'm Tonald Faison.

Speaker 2 (18:48):
And I can't believe it, but guess what, guys, We're
gonna do a Scrubs rewatch podcast.

Speaker 3 (18:53):
Yeah, that's exactly what we're doing. Dude, your voice changed
completely all of a sudden.

Speaker 1 (18:57):
We were all talking normal. I know, a podcast started.
Tell you everyone it is. I.

Speaker 2 (19:02):
I got nervous and I felt like I should sound
like a radio broadcaster. But no, okay, I'm back to me.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
There we go. This is pretty exciting. I'm excited about it.

Speaker 2 (19:11):
I gotta tell you, I'm very excited that We've been
talking about this for a long time. We've been trying
to figure it out. I've been teasing social media, as
have you been.

Speaker 3 (19:21):
Oh, you've been teasing social media a little bit more
than I have.

Speaker 2 (19:25):
But I know because I wanted to get people tittilated. Donald.
I wanted to titillate the masses.

Speaker 3 (19:30):
Well, let's thank iHeartRadio first of all for putting this
and helping us Besulty.

Speaker 2 (19:34):
We had to figure out who to do it, and
we found a perfect partner with iHeart, and we want
to thank them. And also we want to thank the
fans across the universe, because I just think it's to
be crazy for us not to start with saying we
wouldn't be doing this if it weren't for the just
incredibly loyal, amazing fan base we have around the earth,
right Donal.

Speaker 3 (19:53):
Thank you very much, all of you who watched the
show and who are listening to this podcast right now. Wow,
we appreciate you so much. Thank you so much.

Speaker 2 (20:01):
Yeah, thank you. I mean, this has been so many
years of love for this show, and you know, it's
funny I'm sure Donald you have this experience too, where
people come up to the street like, I'm sure this
is so annoying, But I just want to say I
love the show, and I'm like, I'm always like, it's
not annoying. Are you kidding me? That's like the best
comment you can give us.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
So, well, it's annoying when you're eating food.

Speaker 3 (20:17):
Yeah, maybe you're eating food and somebody comes up to
you and they're like, sorry to bother you.

Speaker 1 (20:21):
You know, at first, why are you saying sorry to
bother you? You're not sorry to bother me. You meant to
bother me at that moment, you know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (20:28):
Yeah, Well, just guys, if you're gonna see Donald in public,
don't do it while he's eating. Maybe just or with
my kids.

Speaker 1 (20:32):
I don't play that.

Speaker 2 (20:33):
Oh yeah, all right, we'll just wait outside the restaurant
for it in a dark in a dark alley.

Speaker 1 (20:47):
I remember when that became a thing, and we're back.
We used to always do another one. Let's talk about
the greatest hits. Let's go the greatest hits.

Speaker 2 (20:55):
Well, I uh I. Before we get to that, I
just want to say the obvious to everybody that we
are going to stop doing the podcast for now. We
don't want to say it's over forever. We want to
say bye for now because it is going to be
a little tricky for Donald and I to go all

(21:16):
in and on making Scrubs and also be responsible and
turn in podcasts regularly. You know, when you have a
deal with iHeart, you obviously commit to making a certain
amount of episodes for them. And they've been amazing. I
want to shout out iHeart. They have been the fucking
best partner. But it's not realistic for us to go
make scrubs and also be able to make tons of

(21:40):
episodes of this show. So this is our buye for
now episode. We hope to I hope there's an incarnation
we can all get reunited and we'll reboot the podcast. Donald,
there you go.

Speaker 1 (21:54):
That's a great idea.

Speaker 2 (21:56):
But you know, I know a lot of you been asking, hey,
what are you guys?

Speaker 1 (21:58):
Did you just think of that?

Speaker 2 (22:00):
I'm very quick witted, don't we. We We know you
guys have been saying hey, where are you? And we've
been kind of quiet because we were just trying to
figure out, like, is it possible? Is that going to
be doable? And it just it isn't it isn't fair
to uh the fans who who if you're into a show,
are listening every week and uh, and so we're going

(22:22):
to say bye for now. But but we can keep
reminiscing and talking about our greatest hits. My favorite moment
I think was I've had so many, but one of
them was uh the sex therapist, Uh, coaching Donald and
Casey on their on their love life. That was the

(22:43):
greatest hit for me. Where we learned the term choremants
sure play sorry play? Did you ever end up trying
or play?

Speaker 1 (22:56):
I hate short? Play?

Speaker 4 (22:59):
That's not for him, that's not long?

Speaker 2 (23:01):
Last time? What about when we make everyone?

Speaker 1 (23:04):
What about everyone?

Speaker 2 (23:05):
We got to make sure we play all the greatest
hit songs. Daniel play here the Joel Monique is down
to get down song, get the word out, all the
Joel Monique is down.

Speaker 5 (23:21):
No matter what's between your eggs tomorrow morning, you could
be make an egg.

Speaker 2 (23:25):
Joel money, get down, get down. Oh yeah, Joel Moneique
gets down.

Speaker 4 (23:31):
And so the song people will still randomly sing to
if I'm at a convention or something, this is me there,
They're they're belting it. It is a fun song.

Speaker 1 (23:42):
It's catchy.

Speaker 2 (23:42):
Wow, it is a very hooky song.

Speaker 1 (23:44):
Joel.

Speaker 2 (23:45):
That's when we took a brief dabble into trying to
be matchmakers for Joel.

Speaker 1 (23:50):
How'd that work out? Are you guys still talking?

Speaker 2 (23:52):
Are still we don't know about it?

Speaker 1 (23:55):
You guys still talk?

Speaker 2 (23:57):
No, that's what there is?

Speaker 1 (23:59):
Time nice?

Speaker 2 (24:00):
She was very nice. That was very sweet. And Daniel,
how's your life going in New York with your with
your with your new setup.

Speaker 5 (24:09):
It's great, you know, not not too much has changed.
Still just me, wife and dog. But we love Brooklyn.
We uh, you know, love New York. I miss l
A a lot, but we're very happy here. So all
good things. How do you feel, Donald right now? What
do you What's what's the feeling in your heart?

Speaker 1 (24:27):
In my heart right now?

Speaker 2 (24:28):
Yes? What do you feel? Share with us?

Speaker 1 (24:30):
Well?

Speaker 3 (24:30):
I just feel like we have so much to talk about,
and it sucks that we got to talk about how
this is.

Speaker 1 (24:35):
Coming to an end.

Speaker 3 (24:36):
But I feel like there's so many other things that
are going on right now that could be talked about.

Speaker 2 (24:42):
But well, you can talk about whatever you want. We
don't solely have to. I just wanted to get together
with you guys, and say, uh, you know, it felt weird.
You know, behind the scenes we were talking about, hey,
I think we're going to stop the podcast for now,
and then it felt weird to not checking in with
the audience and said hey, we love you, and uh

(25:04):
and thank you for all the support. I think it's
it's very clear to Donald and I that it had
not been for the reception of this podcast. And then
of course the success of the T mobile ads that
that that are have become quite popular, that that that
energy totally you know, created an interest for a scrubsy boot.

Speaker 3 (25:27):
Absolutely, it definitely. It definitely rejuvenized our romance too, as
far as people being interested in our romance. The fact
that we got together and were and people got to
see an inside on what it's like to be us.
You know, you look at married couples and celebrity couples
and stuff like that, and you and you always wonder,

(25:49):
I wonder what they're like.

Speaker 1 (25:50):
In real life, you know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (25:52):
And people got to see us, People got to see
you know, you could release the fight, Dan will release the.

Speaker 2 (25:59):
Fight, No, don't. Really. The only thing, the only thing
we didn't share with people, uh, was was the fight.
I think that we were very open. Donald was very
open about his sex life and and uh and marijuana, yes, marijuana,
his struggles with his marriage. We were all very candid.

(26:22):
You know, we didn't we didn't censor too much just
to fight. You know, It's funny. There's a room of
Scrubs writers that are brilliant and funny people that are
writing the new show and Uh, they've been so enjoying
listening to the podcast because the podcast is such a
wealth of information on on Donald uh and me. And

(26:44):
they were like, hey, can we hear the fight? And
I was like, there's like so many podcast episodes. Why
do you need to have a fight. They're like, well,
we kind of got into the show and now we
want to hear. Then I get it.

Speaker 1 (26:57):
I get it. We want to get but that's yeah.
But that's the thing.

Speaker 3 (27:01):
That's what was so great about this is that it
also gave us an excuse to freaking talk to each
other every day, and if anything, had built our relationship
even stronger, you know what I mean? Yeah, I enjoy
having our face times now where we FaceTime each other.

Speaker 2 (27:16):
Yeah, now we just do our own podcasts where we
just FaceTime each other.

Speaker 1 (27:19):
You know what, I mean, like I like that ship,
like it's.

Speaker 2 (27:23):
It's tell them how I sometimes answer the phone.

Speaker 3 (27:26):
So look, And I was saying this in the writer's
room too. I was telling all.

Speaker 2 (27:30):
The writers they can't use this on on ABC.

Speaker 3 (27:34):
Sometimes Zach answers the phone. Pretend the phone this this,
this camera right here is the phone. He'll answer it
like this.

Speaker 2 (27:43):
Ever give the audience can't see that. I give him
a pew. I provide him with I provide him with
the I provide him with the point of view as
though he were flating me. God, he goes no, no, no, no,

(28:09):
no no no, not that, not that, not that, not that,
Oh my god. And if he's a good behavior, I'll
give him like top cube, like.

Speaker 1 (28:19):
Just just just a little.

Speaker 2 (28:21):
Edge of pue while as a reward for doing something funny.
I hear your back on.

Speaker 1 (28:29):
The Gandra Donald's back on the weed. Are you yeah, man? Absolutely?

Speaker 2 (28:35):
I know, I know. I could I put two and
two together that you returned to the your favorite.

Speaker 3 (28:40):
Is that because I showed you a spaceship. I was
trying to segue into uh into stop motion animation.

Speaker 2 (28:46):
Brother, Well before you do that, I could just tell
because you spend a lot of time, almost all your
free time, awake time, stop motion animating, and I know
that that pairs nicely for you with ganja.

Speaker 1 (29:02):
So so hold on now.

Speaker 2 (29:05):
And then I asked you if you were training, and
you said no, and my brain went, I'll bet he's
back on the ganja sauce.

Speaker 1 (29:14):
So here's the deal. Go ahead right now.

Speaker 3 (29:16):
I am really trying to level up in stop motion animation.
And when I say level up, I'm trying to get
to a level where I can do what I see
in my mind's eye, on to on.

Speaker 1 (29:32):
To whatever it is.

Speaker 3 (29:34):
I'm whatever whatever it is, I'm shooting using my hands
stop motion wise, and so because of that, I am
consistently animating now and I am I and sometimes marijuana
does parallel with it. But my time right now is

(29:57):
one hundred and Ladies, I know it's so sexy. Holla
at your boy, Yeah, but I spend my time in
a dark room playing with toys.

Speaker 2 (30:05):
Baby yeah, hell yeah yeah.

Speaker 1 (30:07):
Baby, making toys move. Ladies, swoon, Zach.

Speaker 2 (30:11):
I love you, Zach, love you.

Speaker 1 (30:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (30:15):
I want to make sure you get all the sound
effects into this episode. You to do your greatest hits. Yeah, Well,
go for yours as the kids say, right, Donald, go
for yours?

Speaker 3 (30:25):
Yeah, man, I mean it's it's it's look I really
enjoy I thought I was. I thought this would be
something that I did as when I was a kid,
I thought I'd be an animator. If you ask my
mom or anybody who knew me. I wasn't just into
Star Wars because of the story, but I wanted Like
I remember one year my mom asked me, you know

(30:46):
what do you want for Christmas? And I said, a
blue screen? You know what I mean, Like, that's that's
what it is for me and so and it's always
been that and so I have a I have a
crazy action your toy fetish, but it's only because I
dream of animating it all one day.

Speaker 2 (31:05):
And you you know, I got Donald for one of
his birthdays. These stop motion figures of us? Have you
and have you moved on to using those.

Speaker 3 (31:17):
I have as a matter of fact, And that's what
I'm animating right now. I'm animating one of the character
that you made of me me.

Speaker 1 (31:27):
I showed it to you.

Speaker 6 (31:29):
I would like to talk to talk to you about
some of the things that you do, but no, sincerely,
Scandal noted right.

Speaker 3 (31:41):
Scandal noted, I made a stop motion animation with the
puppet that you gave me. This is just a blocking
I'm gonna see if I could show it to you
guys on this and if it's.

Speaker 1 (31:59):
It's from Alaska.

Speaker 2 (32:02):
A double wow. Why don't you pick on somebody your
own disposition please, mister barroom brawler. Wow, don't hurt me
or anything like that. This looks great, wow, so good
with the vowels, with the mouth moves so smooth. How

(32:27):
many It's amazing so audience for those who don't know
and don't can't see this, it's amazing. Looks professional as
hell of of a figuring of Donald's a puppet we
made of Donald. But explain how the mouths work because
the vowels and the mouth moves flawlessly. And each time
he's swapping out, it's like a magnet, right, and you're

(32:50):
swapping out a different mouth.

Speaker 1 (32:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (32:52):
So the guy sent me puppets with with magnets that
you pull the mouths are conected to magnets and you
literally pull off a jaw and put a different jaw on.

Speaker 2 (33:06):
And when he said to us, how do you how
do you mean? Explain what you had? You choose which
mounts and.

Speaker 3 (33:13):
All that, well, you kind of recognize the shape in time.
This is actually is the easiest part of stop motion.
The hardest part of stop motion is the movement and
doing little movement and still being able to see it,
you know what I mean. So you know the weight
shifts and all of that stuff. If it's too big,
it looks unnatural. But the smaller it is, the more

(33:35):
you believe it, and the more lifelike it looks, and
the more.

Speaker 2 (33:38):
You got really good shows you got that looks amazing.

Speaker 1 (33:42):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (33:43):
I take a couple of hours, but that's that's but
that was That's a blocking. That wasn't even the hero shots.
So I did the blocking, and now I'm on the
hero shot and the hero shot is way harder, and
I'm gonna go.

Speaker 2 (34:00):
Was because it's not it's not good. It's not good radio,
because this is just radio. We love you, but people
can't see it.

Speaker 1 (34:07):
I want to show y'all, just to show y'all.

Speaker 2 (34:08):
But okay, okay, it's really impressive.

Speaker 1 (34:12):
We'll check it out.

Speaker 2 (34:12):
Send it to the group shot to Donald and we
will look at it. Bill Lawrence was talking about making
this Turk's hobby because Donald is so into it, and
Bill loves to pull from our real lives. And I
was talking to Bill and I said, you know, Turk
should have a hobby that he's so obsessed with, because

(34:34):
Donald is so obsessed with a hobby, and that could
be an interesting thing to fold in and like the
obvious doctor thing would be like golf or something. And
I said that, Bill, uh, you know, we should brainstorm
on that, and he's like, I think we should make
it stop motion animation, just like Donald's into. So I
don't know if that's going to actually happen or not,
but he was That's what he was saying.

Speaker 1 (34:54):
That's awesome.

Speaker 3 (34:56):
It's great storytelling, and it's a way that I could
tell stories without how having to be as big as
big of without needing as big of a production as
it would cout to do like Superman or or an
actual Star Wars or just.

Speaker 1 (35:14):
Any an independent film, you know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (35:17):
Like, and you know, I was saying to my wife,
I was like, you know, Zach has Zach has hobbies
and stuff like that, but his other passion is directing
and stuff like that. I was like, I wish I
had something like that. She was like, you do it's
stop motion. That's your version of directing, that's your version
of you know, you might not be dealing with egos,

(35:38):
and you might not be dealing with, you know, as
much of the puzzle as Zach is dealing with, but
it's the same.

Speaker 1 (35:45):
It's almost the exact same thing.

Speaker 3 (35:47):
You're setting up, you're telling, you're trying to tell the
story that's true.

Speaker 2 (35:51):
And also you can do it on your and you
can do it by just walking in your garage and focusing.
You know, one thing about being a director. And obviously
you can make short films and just shoot something small,
but in making the things I've been making, you sit
around waiting a lot for things to actually happen, and
you have the added benefit that you can just go
and make shit.

Speaker 1 (36:11):
Yeah that Wu Tang forever? Who Tang forever? Ever and ever?

Speaker 3 (36:17):
I want to ask a question because I heard meme
and I thought it was an interesting question.

Speaker 1 (36:23):
Wu Tang or outcast?

Speaker 4 (36:28):
For me personally, it's just outcast, But that's just because
I have an obsession with andrethe fausend. I think it's
amazing along with the wo outcast rules, they really brought
to the black community.

Speaker 5 (36:39):
Yeah, because it's like they're they're different, like you know,
cultural aspects that they both affected, and it's it's like,
you know the way that you know, the way that
like the Riza has like gone on to affect film
is like interesting and like I don't know if I
think Outcast has had a specifically music focused impact, where
it feels like Wu Tang has had, like I don't know,

(37:01):
maybe a a wider ranging cultural impact, but maybe that's
just my perspective.

Speaker 4 (37:06):
They got the symbol in it, Zach and Donald Gay
newlyweds in house arrest.

Speaker 3 (37:11):
I thought it was the most interesting question to be asked.
It's like, if you're gonna do a if you're gonna
compare two groups, Uh huh, why would you compare those two?

Speaker 1 (37:22):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (37:23):
And a lot of people said Outcasts? Uh which is
which is great? I think Outcast is great. I think
Wu Tang is great. But it was just a weird comparison.
It was like, Wow, Wu Tang or Outcast, Okay, that's legit.

Speaker 2 (37:35):
You know, my vote would be for amongst those two
who you haven't gone a lot. Wow. You subverting expectation there.

Speaker 1 (37:48):
That's what fans want, That's what all the fans said,
you have been gone.

Speaker 2 (37:51):
Yeah, that's what they were saying. That's where they when
they saw this pop up in there in their podcast feed,
they went, they have been gone for a while.

Speaker 1 (38:02):
You haven't gone for a while, such wrong infliction.

Speaker 2 (38:12):
You have been gone for a while. And if you
ever try to direct someone that really is choosing the
wrong word, it's very tricky because you're not supposed to
as a director like just say say say it like this.
It's called giving a line reading, and it's frowned upon.
So you have to find these artful ways to be like, hey,
it feels like you're sort of underlining have and maybe

(38:35):
maybe don't like what if you it feels like you're
putting emphasis? Can I hear what it would sound like
if you weren't underlining the word have?

Speaker 1 (38:44):
Do you know what they wanted me to do?

Speaker 3 (38:46):
They wanted it to be you have been gone for
a while. They wanted it that way, and you learned
how to make He's like you wanted you learned how
to make coffee. Well, you have been gone for a while.

Speaker 2 (38:58):
That's better. That's the way was supposed to be.

Speaker 1 (39:01):
You have been gone for a while.

Speaker 2 (39:05):
And so director was talking to you. Do you remember
the director saying like, hey, young little Donald. It feels
like they might be.

Speaker 3 (39:14):
They were way more They were way more interested in
following the coffee. We do fucking team mobile, you know
what it is, following the coffee to the top of
the hand to my face and then fill you.

Speaker 1 (39:26):
Know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (39:26):
They were way more interested in that.

Speaker 2 (39:28):
You could we try one Donald Junior where you it
feels like it really focused on the word have, And
I'm just kind of curious, you know, let's try a bunch.
Let's just see one where you don't really really emphasize
the word have so much.

Speaker 1 (39:46):
Okay, got it? You ready? Yeah, you have been gone
for a while.

Speaker 2 (39:52):
M Let's go back to the way you did it.
I always do this dance with actors where you're like,
especially because I'm an actor, I just want to you
want you of course, you just want to be like,
just say it like this, but you're not supposed to

(40:13):
do that. It's like, it's like not people don't like it,
so you have to do this whole dance. And then
a lot of actors, including myself, will be like, dude,
just tell me how you want me to say it,
And then they're like, oh, okay, like this.

Speaker 1 (40:25):
That's how I say it. Now, what do you want
me to say?

Speaker 2 (40:27):
Many? Yeah, I was telling everyone. And then we spoke
on the show about Bill's techniques. How he's like he
has two specialties. Are you know at the table read,
you did it like this? And then he'll make up
the way he wants it and the person never did
it like that at the table reading brilliant, but brilliant

(40:48):
but Bill. But Bill will be like, you were so
funny when you did it like this at the table read,
and the person's ego is like, oh, I did that
was better? My first things think was bad. And then meanwhile,
the person never did like that. And then the other
thing he does is he just feels like he can
get around and if he says nonsense, so he'll be like,

(41:08):
can you be like d D And they'll be like,
oh okay, like he feels like it's not a line
reading if he just made gibberish noises.

Speaker 3 (41:16):
I love directors that, but I'm not gonna lie it.
I like directors that I like that though. I like
directors that'll be like that'll be like, you know, the
timing is and then you say and she said.

Speaker 2 (41:29):
Some people, but you're different. Some people are precious about like,
don't tell me how to say it.

Speaker 1 (41:35):
You know, I get it, you know.

Speaker 3 (41:39):
Some people don't understand that they're part of the story,
not the story.

Speaker 1 (41:44):
I get that, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (41:46):
Yeah, And also sometimes director's wrong, But sometimes I just
want to hear it, like I heard it in my
head like this, Can you just do it like that
once so I can hear it, and then they might
do it and go, oh, you know what, I'm wrong,
keep doing it. I just I had to hear it,
you know.

Speaker 1 (41:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (42:00):
I had a really good time in directing this new
Steve Carell show that's going to be on HBO. It
doesn't have a title yet. I think I know what
the title is, but they haven't announced it yet. And
it's you guys are gonna love it, audience. It is
a Bill Lawrence jam It's imagine the skill of Bill
Lawrence combined with the genius of Steve Carell. Oh it

(42:21):
is it is. It is a bop. It's so good.

Speaker 4 (42:23):
They crying, Oh my god, you are going to.

Speaker 2 (42:26):
Be laughing and crying. And Carrel is just the nicest
person I can I'm here to report that if you're
a fan of Steve Carell, he is a gem. He's
such a sweet man. He is so we had just
a blast working together.

Speaker 1 (42:41):
I love it that motherfucker goes hard in the paint.

Speaker 2 (42:45):
He did it does. He's just straight good and he's
just so kind and he's just you know, it's funny.
He's one of these people like de Niro in a
sense that I had an experience with where between action
and cut, he is the person you all know and
love and is so big and crazy and funny and
Gnaro's case, incredible acting and then they call cut and

(43:08):
the person's like quiet and they go kind of like
to sit down in their chair and you're like, oh
my god. I had that experience with both of those
two people. I was like, Wow, when they're not doing
their thing, they're kind of like quiet. And Carrel is
kind of like that. He's the nicest person you'll ever meet.
But he's not like Steve Carrell on you know, he's
not like, you know, doing like Donald's you know, going

(43:29):
into the audience at the sitcom taping and singing and
singing Belbevdavau them.

Speaker 3 (43:35):
Days is over, man, I'm not doing that no more. Really,
I'm not doing that ever.

Speaker 2 (43:40):
Again, You're not going to be entertaining the entire crew.

Speaker 3 (43:42):
I'm going to start seeing the more serious side of Donald.
I don't want to making myself and I'm going to
talk about myself and the third person. People are going
to start seeing a more serious side of Donald Fazil.
I don't know if you know this, but we're rebooting Scrubs. Guys,
this we have rebooted Scrubs and.

Speaker 2 (43:58):
Rebooting and now we're forty eight. We're not spring chickens anymore. Yeah,
you know, and we're still silly people. Donald, you and I.

Speaker 3 (44:06):
Absolutely on camera, but when they say cut, you and
I are now going to be really serious.

Speaker 1 (44:12):
Okay, we're gonna take.

Speaker 2 (44:13):
I don't think that. That's not my vibe. I love,
I love and respect it. But for me, when I'm
being funny, I kind of got to stay in like funny, silly,
high energy vibe. I'm not the guy who goes back
to his chair and opens like a book.

Speaker 3 (44:26):
I'm gonna do that. I'm gonna start doing that. Yeah,
I'm gonna I'm gonna You're.

Speaker 2 (44:32):
Gonna be trying to make the whole crew laugh. Like,
you're doing the T mobile commercials. I'm like, meanwhile, we're
doing the T mobile commercials. And I'm like, dude, save
some of your energy. It's a hot ass day. The
Suite did this last one and it was must have
been one hundred and ten degrees and this dude sweating
his ass off and still still trying to entertain and
make the whole crew laugh. And I'm like, bro, save

(44:52):
your energy. You're sweating your balls off right now, and
like like, calm down.

Speaker 1 (44:58):
Listen, Remember I I am changing as of now. Way
that way is old. This is this is a freaking podcast.
Phase on is what you're watching right now.

Speaker 2 (45:10):
I see what you're What you're listening to.

Speaker 3 (45:13):
Is podcast phase on. When I turned my computer off,
I'm going to get quiet.

Speaker 2 (45:18):
I can't pick Trip. I never seen him quiet in
front of we know, we had to do this one
tam Mobile commercial where we were in front of like
it was meant to be like an Oscar spoof, and
we were in front of like two hundred people, and
they were gonna, you know, in post make it look
like thousands of people. But I was like, Donald, you
gotta hold it together. These are two hundred strangers. You

(45:40):
need to let and it's so hard for him. He's
got a mic in his hand, and I know he
wants to like start making them laugh and singing and
like doing stand up and I'm like, bro, Mike.

Speaker 1 (45:49):
Was on too yeah, and I was like bro, and
it was on.

Speaker 2 (45:51):
Let's have a little chat. You got to hold it together.
You gotta not. We don't have Daniel here to say.
Cut that Daniel.

Speaker 1 (46:01):
Ya. I learned that the hard way. Bro.

Speaker 3 (46:03):
Oh my gosh, that cut that Daniel button is one
of the best.

Speaker 2 (46:08):
But when you're in your life without cut that danel Oh.

Speaker 3 (46:10):
My gosh, cut that Daniel button is the best button
ever in the history of buttons.

Speaker 2 (46:17):
Real life sometimes yea, oh my gosh, oh my, in
real life, sometimes you had to cut that Daniel button.

Speaker 1 (46:26):
Yes, I do, yes, absolutely.

Speaker 2 (46:29):
When you like say something so cringe and embarrassing and
you're like, oh no, cut that.

Speaker 3 (46:34):
Dan all And at this moment, we're gonna play all
of the things that Dan will cut.

Speaker 2 (46:38):
Go ahead, Daniel, Daniel, Daniel never managed to cut this.

Speaker 1 (46:46):
Everybody likes a little ass flay.

Speaker 3 (46:48):
Don't even act like that, whether it be taking the poop,
whether it be a finger whether it be a tongue,
whether you know everybody likes a.

Speaker 1 (46:56):
Little ass flight.

Speaker 2 (46:57):
Yeah, and he also allowed this on the air.

Speaker 1 (47:00):
Eat these balls, Zach, Eat these balls, Zach.

Speaker 2 (47:05):
Do you like how I'm artfully weaving in all the
sound effects to the show, do? Yeah, you're trying to
miss the sound effects.

Speaker 1 (47:13):
You know what you're missing though.

Speaker 3 (47:14):
Fuck your sound effects machine, fuck your sound effects.

Speaker 1 (47:18):
Have it anymore?

Speaker 2 (47:19):
Well? I got them all actually trying to get it. Oh,
I got that baby, here you go. My New York
one has a few that I don't have here. I
forgot which one it has, but we do have this
what you're trying to get into one day, shoon, what
you're trying to do. It's embarrassing how much I sing
that to myself and my own house.

Speaker 1 (47:39):
Tell them the new song. Which one song, the one
that what you're trying to get into.

Speaker 2 (47:46):
The things you're trying to get into. Oh, I don't
even know what it is a day yo, I don't
even know what it is. I don't even know what
it is. That's a new that's a new verse. These guys,
I literally did not know. No, because it's extendating the song.

(48:14):
So the song is like what are you trying to
get into? Like because Donald used to say that.

Speaker 1 (48:17):
Because I don't even know what it is?

Speaker 4 (48:21):
About what it.

Speaker 2 (48:23):
Is because you're seeing you know, yes, because Donald used
to say the origin of what you trying to get
into was Donald told me that. That's how like that
was like cool guys slang for like, what are you
going to do tonight? What you try to get into?
And I was like, Oh, I'm gonna use that what
you're trying to get into? And then it became what
you're trying to get into a day June, what I'm

(48:43):
trying to do. And then now find myself walking around
the house like trying to extend the song, and I'm like,
I don't even know what it is a day yo,
I don't even know what it is. My dog is
just sitting there watching me. Is I'm like building out
this whole song.

Speaker 4 (49:04):
Amazing.

Speaker 2 (49:07):
It's embarrassing. If you knew how much I sing about
a day of shooting in my house.

Speaker 1 (49:11):
I love it to my dog.

Speaker 2 (49:12):
I serenade her with the day of shooting songs.

Speaker 1 (49:15):
These make these things make me so happy.

Speaker 2 (49:18):
Yeah, well, you know, we spend a lot of time alone,
my dog and I so I sing about you right on.

Speaker 1 (49:25):
So what are you trying to say you're lonely?

Speaker 2 (49:27):
No, I'm not lonesome. I'm very happy. I must say
I'm very happy. I feel very very blessed and lucky,
and I can't complain about anything.

Speaker 4 (49:41):
Lately, Zach, I've been.

Speaker 2 (49:43):
Working a lot, and I'm also I think I think
there's something in hitting fifty where you're like, you know what,
I'm going to take stock. I feel very grateful. I
have my health, I love the work that I that
I get to do. I have good friends. I don't
have a wife and a child, which maybe will happen,
maybe won't. But I I stopped myself from complaining about

(50:06):
anything because I'm just I realize how lucky and grateful
I am. That's that's another sincere moment for you. Do
you want me to break it up with this? Zach
and Donald Gay newlyweds in House Arrest.

Speaker 1 (50:20):
We should make that movie. I'm gonna make that. I'm
gonna stop motion.

Speaker 2 (50:23):
That was a guy that was That guy is so
good and you know that if you recall, he was
pitching what our new show should be.

Speaker 1 (50:35):
No, yeah, I remember, and so House Arrest.

Speaker 2 (50:38):
Oh there's another, here's another, here's another gem for you.
My pitch for the show was that when we were
thinking about doing a movie was that we finally, somehow
JD comes into money like a patient that you that

(51:00):
loved him leave some of her fortune or something, and
that he finally has this chunk of money to make
the real Doctor Acula movie that he's always dreamed of making.

Speaker 1 (51:12):
Maybe you get to see that this year on Scrubs.

Speaker 2 (51:15):
Well maybe it could be a fantasy or something. But
I was pitching it like when you were going to
do a movie, as like the main storyline for like
us all getting back together, as JD came into like,
you know, this money and he gets everyone to be like, hey, guys,
one of my life's dreams, which is to make the
Doctor Acula movie. Would you all be in it? And
so that was my pitch. I would love to do

(51:35):
a stop motion fantasy sequence. I've already pitched that to
the guts the writers. Yes, Donald, I was asking Donald,
I said how long would it take, like you know,
like a fifteen second or so fantasy And he was saying, pros,
how long would it take? Donald?

Speaker 1 (51:50):
Depends on the quality of the animation. If you want
really good questions.

Speaker 2 (51:53):
Well, like you're like you're like your shorts that you
were doing with that you were doing, yeah, checking, no,
the ones you did your own that you will show
you shorts you did.

Speaker 3 (52:03):
I'll take a fifteen minute second one, No, fifteen seconds,
fifteen seconds. Depends on what it is. But if it's
if it's really elaborate, it's going to take some time.
If it's really if it's really simple, it's it could
take a few hours.

Speaker 1 (52:21):
It depends like.

Speaker 2 (52:22):
A week maybe right for.

Speaker 3 (52:25):
For fifteen seconds, one animator will take away more than
that probably.

Speaker 2 (52:28):
No, I'm saying, what if you had like four animators, Yeah,
a bout a week. I'm just trying to I'm trying
to like talk, I'm trying to sell it to the team, like, well,
one time we should do a stop motion fantasy since
we have the puppets and andy. So just let's let's let's.

Speaker 3 (52:48):
Say listen if we if you I have the guy,
I got the peeps, I could do it.

Speaker 2 (52:54):
I got that'll get a little further along. I'm gonna
have you. I'll probably have you put handle our our
producer in touch with them because I would love to
have it like something they actually do, and then they're
gonna be like, yeah, but how much is it gonna cost?
And what's the matter. They're gonna have all these naysayers,
and so if we have it locked and loaded ready
to be like, no, it's only gonna be a week
and it's gonna be this much money, then maybe they'll
go for it. Can you mention your penis so I

(53:16):
can hit the deb willies? But say something about your penis.
It's brown, for sake, Just stop talking about your willies.
There it is. All you had to say about your
penis was that it was brown.

Speaker 1 (53:31):
Well, I'm challenges the new serious.

Speaker 2 (53:33):
Donald Great, that's gonna be great for the new show.

Speaker 1 (53:39):
This is not the I am as serious.

Speaker 2 (53:42):
Because I mentioned that Carrel and de Niro, when they're not.

Speaker 1 (53:46):
Shooting the greatest, are more reserved.

Speaker 2 (53:48):
They are pretty. They are They are too the two
of the best living performers in drama and comedy.

Speaker 1 (53:55):
So I'm saying it works. Maybe I need to try it.

Speaker 2 (53:58):
Do you think your buddy Harrison Ford is gonna win
his first Emmy for shrinking?

Speaker 4 (54:02):
Really?

Speaker 2 (54:03):
Question, Joelle? What a results? I'll give you a drum
roll that would win.

Speaker 4 (54:11):
But let me see what are the actual odds.

Speaker 2 (54:16):
It's very competitive this year. There's got uh so many. Uh,
there's the Studio is very popular. What's the Ben Stiller
one that's very popular?

Speaker 3 (54:28):
So good?

Speaker 2 (54:29):
All right, Daniel, go ahead, all right?

Speaker 1 (54:31):
Cool?

Speaker 2 (54:31):
So you got Ike Baronholds for the Studio, very funny.
Coleman Coleman Domingo for the four seasons.

Speaker 1 (54:37):
I know he has never seen it.

Speaker 2 (54:39):
Harrison Ford for Shrinking, very good, Jeff Hiller for Somebody Somewhere,
never seen, Eben Moss Backrack for the Bear. He's very good,
very good.

Speaker 1 (54:49):
I love him, never watched the show.

Speaker 5 (54:51):
Michael Leury for Shrinking hilarious, and Bowen Yang for Saturday Life.

Speaker 2 (54:56):
Okay, I'm going to say, and I'm not biased, it's
between Michael Yuri and Harrison Ford.

Speaker 4 (55:07):
Wow, all put it really great work.

Speaker 2 (55:16):
They're all great. That's that's quite a lineup. They're all
fucking incredible. Is the Barenholts is very very funny in
the studio?

Speaker 1 (55:25):
Yes, don How many of these shows are coming back
next year? All of them?

Speaker 2 (55:30):
I think the one with the Somewhere Somebody Somewhere is over.
No A, am I wrong?

Speaker 1 (55:35):
I would say this go ahead if they're all coming back.

Speaker 3 (55:39):
I would give Harrison for the I would give Harrison
for the award and let these guys go at it
again next year. Okay, Harrison Ford being nominated for things
is rare and few. Right on, He's been nominated for
a few Oscars, He's been nominated for a few Golden Globes.

Speaker 1 (55:59):
This is his first.

Speaker 3 (56:00):
I'm gonna give it to Harrison Ford.

Speaker 1 (56:08):
No disrespect to all of the other actors. They're all great.

Speaker 2 (56:11):
But Somebody Somewhere's third season was this year and the
series has concluded. I knew the writers have said that
they are potentially interested in revisiting the characters in a movie,
but it was only three seasons and that's out. I
can't just the seasons shows.

Speaker 3 (56:26):
As long as health is on his side, I feel
like Comen Domingo will get another shot at an Emmy.
I don't know how many Harrison Ford is going to
get a shot at.

Speaker 2 (56:38):
Okay, right, well, these factors the movie.

Speaker 3 (56:40):
He's never been nominated, and he's get this is his one.
You know what I mean, this is the one you
gotta get, you gotta now.

Speaker 2 (56:47):
He's also just like I mean again, I know him biased,
but he's just so good and fucking hilarious on the show.
It's been so fun watching him lean into comedy and
we do you see. That's another thing I directed in March,
I believe, was episodes three and four of the new season.
And it's so good, you guys, It's so fucking good.

(57:10):
And he's so incredible.

Speaker 3 (57:12):
Hell yeah, He's always been incredible though, That's my point,
and that's why he has to win the Emmy.

Speaker 1 (57:18):
All right.

Speaker 2 (57:19):
Donald has spoken.

Speaker 3 (57:21):
That's like if Denzel Washington were to do a television
show and getting and getting nominated for the Emmy, and
you'd be like, we're going to give it to.

Speaker 2 (57:30):
Well, you can't go you can't just go, oh, you're
the most famous, most popular. I mean, ideally you take
other things into account. But I do think that Harrison.
I think Harrison Ford's work speaks to greatness.

Speaker 1 (57:44):
That's what I'm trying to say right now.

Speaker 2 (57:47):
He is so enjoying this chapter of his career where
he is getting to be funny and and I think
it shows. I think it shows on screen.

Speaker 1 (57:57):
And that's why they should celebrate him.

Speaker 2 (58:00):
Yeah, and all those people are so talented. That's a
very tough category.

Speaker 1 (58:04):
Yeah, it is very tough, and I.

Speaker 2 (58:06):
Think I think that Yeah, I think adolescence is going
to win all the things that's nominated for. For those
of you who watched that show. All right, as we
begin to conclude, Joelle, do you have any parting thoughts?
Are you going to miss us? Are you what are
you going to miss most about our weekly chats?

Speaker 4 (58:28):
Oh? Yesh, I already miss you.

Speaker 1 (58:29):
Guys.

Speaker 4 (58:30):
You were like a weekly stay and then suddenly we
were we were just dark. It's a strange u transitional period.
This was the first show I ever eat peed, So.

Speaker 2 (58:41):
You did a fantastic job.

Speaker 1 (58:43):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (58:44):
I really appreciate Donald. Well done, Joelle. In all seriousness,
before you continue, I just want to take this moment
on behalf of Donald and I to say we never
ever could have done this without you. You are such
an important part of the show. You are so interesting
and talented and funny, and we instantly wanted you to

(59:06):
be a part of the show because we just were like,
this woman is far too charming and interesting to have
her just sit there. And from the bottom of our hearts,
thank you so much for what you created.

Speaker 1 (59:20):
Thank you man, Thank you guys.

Speaker 4 (59:23):
I appreciate coming along for the ride. I had a
great time. And to our fans and listeners over the year,
like I really encourage you to go back and listen
to like some of those early interviews Richard Kind. I
listen to the Richard Kind interview every so often if
I need to pick up hilarious the Scott Fully interview
also sensational, so silly, like I really, you know, I

(59:46):
think if the show did anything really cool, it was
like getting a chance to sort of live in these
old memories with these really great actors who have these
long spans, like if you're a TV watcher like I am,
like all these names that you pop up all the time,
So get to spend some time like intimately with you
guys and those performers and learning all these backstories, like

(01:00:08):
it was a dream. So I hope people continue to listen.
And you know, if you guys want to want to
recap your your new show, call us. I'm here. I'll
just be iHeart.

Speaker 2 (01:00:20):
Well again, we we never know what what what will come,
you know, I don't know if it's recap or we
get inspired or do something else. But I do think
it's good that we we end on a high note
and uh, and and and while we still love it
as opposed to getting to a point where it feels like,
you know, it's not as fun anymore. Daniel, Yeah, what

(01:00:42):
are your what are your parting thoughts?

Speaker 1 (01:00:44):
Are great? Editor?

Speaker 5 (01:00:46):
Oh, I mean, this has just been such a blast.
It was an awesome opportunity to get to know the
two of you better and to be you know, welcomed
into your world a little bit. It has reignited my
love for Scrubs and just as a I don't know,
I mean like it's been it's been such an interesting

(01:01:08):
journey and all the things that have come with it.
I mean, you know, as a as a huge fan
of competition television. The fact that the four of us
plus Bill got to go on Family Feud and win
it was like a life, lifelong dream achieved. So like,
you know, for nothing else, for nothing else, we got

(01:01:30):
to go on Family Feud, Yes, nobody And and Dane,
you were the one that got the Steve Harvey look away,
shocked face.

Speaker 2 (01:01:39):
I was trying so hard for it.

Speaker 1 (01:01:41):
I got it too, though.

Speaker 2 (01:01:43):
Actually did you did an alligator? Yeah? An all time,
an all time moment.

Speaker 3 (01:01:50):
But let's let's let's talk about this, right, now alligators.

Speaker 1 (01:01:55):
We've seen the memes. Now, I made alligators.

Speaker 2 (01:01:59):
Faith look, I made allus.

Speaker 1 (01:02:02):
I made you alligators.

Speaker 2 (01:02:03):
No one was paying any attention to the to the
pictures of alligators climbing fences until Donald spoke up. That's true.
Until you know what. We want to thank you to
your incredible man. Not only you know we did. We
just thought you were the engineer and the mixer, and
then you've been such You've been so incredible on the
show and so interesting and people love hearing you share

(01:02:27):
and uh again, we never thought that you'd be such
a major part of the show. But thanks to Thank
you so much for all that you contributed. You're just
I'm gonna miss you, guys. I'm gonna miss seeing you.
Every single day, I find myself in the shower going,
oh my god, that's I'm washing my under arms, being like, oh,
that'd be a funny story to tell on the podcast.

(01:02:48):
It's like ingrained. It's ingrained in my blood, saving saving
funny stories to talk about with you each week.

Speaker 1 (01:02:57):
Hey, Daniel, will you do me a favor real quick?

Speaker 2 (01:02:59):
Sure?

Speaker 1 (01:03:01):
Drop one of them verses.

Speaker 2 (01:03:04):
From you?

Speaker 1 (01:03:05):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:03:06):
Great, popped in right here. The best one. JD.

Speaker 3 (01:03:11):
Was like, cannot freaky freak with Molly to Elliott, who
was hard pressed but probably when I think of it,
knew he had no chance in hell. So she sends
him on the quest feel me watch he fails. This
episode was directed by Ze Fissile after Gardens they came out,
so he was starting to sizzle and Dollar Bill was like,
I don't want the boy the fissicle. I'll let him
direct Pete dust in their rehizzle backlock crazy shots.

Speaker 1 (01:03:33):
Improvides what you got treat by a Kyo boom. That's
kind of hot top Hiyatta chuck a lot. So's your
face Doctor Cox, Molly Shannon, Molly Clock zipp Ron because
she's hot.

Speaker 3 (01:03:42):
All well received by the populist because like Prime zb
was an optimist, I'll rocket like elaj you want serving
MC's like her restaurant, you'd get just called the face arms.

Speaker 1 (01:03:52):
That's the recap, but it wouldn't be complete without shotting.
Now DJ Daniel and Joe Monique.

Speaker 2 (01:03:57):
Yeah, remember back in the day when Donald would.

Speaker 3 (01:04:00):
I and I don't know why you guys did that.
That was so young, but making sure that I was
actually watching the show.

Speaker 1 (01:04:11):
Fucks don't think I'm watching this ship. Donald. There was
a fun.

Speaker 2 (01:04:17):
Was a segment they were really good. That was a
really good segment.

Speaker 1 (01:04:23):
That ship was pressure.

Speaker 2 (01:04:24):
Do you think you're going to read the news scripts?

Speaker 1 (01:04:27):
Absolutely?

Speaker 2 (01:04:28):
It's funny because I saw I saw an early draft
of the pilot which is so fucking good, and Donald
has a huge monologue and I.

Speaker 1 (01:04:36):
Was like what I was like.

Speaker 2 (01:04:40):
I was like, Donald, we're like, we're like eight weeks six,
eight weeks out. I was like, you might want to
take an early gander and then Bill build it all,
build it a whole big pass of the thing. And
I was like, let me quickly just flip and see
if Donald's monologue is still there. And I was like, roll, So.

Speaker 1 (01:05:00):
Here's the thing.

Speaker 2 (01:05:01):
So you got to read the scripts.

Speaker 1 (01:05:02):
My point in doing this podcast go ahead. I realized how.

Speaker 3 (01:05:09):
I wasn't present, regardless of how I feel about the
work and how it came out and stuff like that.
The first run of Scrubs, for the most part, I
wasn't really present. I was very I don't think a lot.
I think we were very young. I think we were
very I was very immature, and I had and I
smoked a lot of weed. I still do but I

(01:05:30):
smoked quite a bit, uh and still was trying to
work and do it. And so because of that, I
missed out on a lot like learning my lines or
reading scripts or you know, I was having fun at
a club.

Speaker 1 (01:05:48):
I intend to lock in on this, you know what
I mean.

Speaker 3 (01:05:50):
This past for five years, these past five years have
been really eye opening on what can change in your
life when you focus a little bit different when you
focus in just a little bit more.

Speaker 1 (01:06:06):
And so I intend to lock in on this. I am.

Speaker 3 (01:06:09):
I'm very excited. This is a chance to in a
lot of ways, stretch my abilities as an actor and
learn more as an actor. I have nine episodes too
with and with my best friend too. I have nine
episodes with my best friend to try and tell a story,
and I intend on doing that and I'm really excited

(01:06:31):
about it.

Speaker 2 (01:06:34):
That's awesome and I and I'm glad to hear that.
And yeah, we are so lucky to have this opportunity,
and I think we should fucking bring it. Yeah, you
know this is and to the audience, you know, we're
going to do that. We're still figuring out what the
show is and obviously it's going to have the same
tone and silliness. You love. But please, I imagine if

(01:06:58):
you're listening to this, you're probably going to be curious
to check it out. Please, uh please check it out
coming soon to ABC, A network show. My god, wow,
it's a network show though a lot of you've got
you got ABC? Yeah, all you need is rabbit ears. True,

(01:07:18):
people listening probably don't even know what rabbit ears are.
We're too old. It even took me a second to
be like, what the rabbit ears was? With the nickname
for just an antenna, you don't need so kids listening,
you could literally just put up an antenna and plug
it into a TV and you will get ABC. Back
in the day, still to this day, can you still

(01:07:40):
do that? Absolutely?

Speaker 1 (01:07:41):
Yes?

Speaker 5 (01:07:42):
Oh really it ended like, okay, right, they don't look
like rabbit ears anymore, but you can you can get
you can get the networks from the air.

Speaker 1 (01:07:54):
No, that's awesome.

Speaker 2 (01:07:58):
Well, I don't know what else to say. I love
you guys, you dog, I love you guys. This has
been so much fun. We've spent five years doing this.
Mm hmm. Think of the things we've gone through, the
things in our life. We've gone through, the ups and downs.

Speaker 3 (01:08:15):
Dude, we went through covid Man. We started off with covid.
We started off with COVID.

Speaker 2 (01:08:21):
I hope, I hope, I hope people like what we did.
I'm kind of sad now I think they loved it.

Speaker 1 (01:08:28):
You know, it's not nothing's ever nothing. It's never goodbye
for ever. You know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (01:08:34):
Nothing ever really dies and the words to Luke Skywalker,
nothing ever really dies.

Speaker 2 (01:08:39):
I think it's important for you to end this podcast
with a Star Wars quote, and it's from Yoda. Do
give me some trying.

Speaker 1 (01:08:52):
I'm not sure.

Speaker 2 (01:08:53):
We made about a bunch of talks and.

Speaker 1 (01:09:00):
Said he's the stories new should know.

Speaker 3 (01:09:05):
