in the Pit of Misery. We got Alex Fassano, we
got Venmo Brian, we got the Manamo Chris Bavona, and
they are going to be playing a role with our
show representing the Stats over Beat Cipher. We got a
big show for you, all right. I haven't been on
here for freestyle for the Status over Beat Cipher since

(01:58):
the Super Bowl, right, So we gotta break down what
we saw. What did speeds get right? What did speeds
get wrong? Then we're gonna turn the page. All right,
We're gonna turn the page because people are already talking
about dynasty leagues, free agency, futures bet and one of
the things you need to know is what to expect
in player movement over the next couple of months, whether

(02:19):
it be free agency in March with the draft in April.
So we are going to look position by position we're
gonna tell you who are the kind of the key
free agents, and me and my man Foccano down there
in the pit of misery, we're gonna try to figure
out are they gonna stay, are they gonna go? What
teams may be interested, try to read the tea leaves,
juxtaposing what teams may look like going into the draft,

(02:43):
going into your early fantasy football you know, drafts, way
too early, rankings, that sort of thing, and uh, we'll
talk about it how it relates to the quarterback position
as well. When we come back on the other side
of this news break, we'll throw out some chat topics,
poll question, all that and more our episode four thirty five.
But it's midday, y'all gott to know the news, so

(03:04):
let's check it out. Sports Grid News Update coming now,
episode four thirty five with the Fantasy freestyle on the
back side. Sports Gride News Update, Thanks speed to this bet.
Good to be back with mom Boy. Speed to spin Stastician.

(03:27):
That's christmaphone with your sports grid News update. Big moves
coming up with the NBA treadline create deadline just two
hours away. First off, the New York Knicks planned to
make c a a player agent, Leon Rose, the franchise's
next president of operations and sm y source also says
William Worldwide West Wesley is under strong consideration to be

(03:48):
to be part of the Knicks organization under Rose. The
Memphis Grizzlies have agreed to I've agreed to do a
deal to save Notrea Callas to the Miami Heat. Nig
Dollars also agreed to a two year, thirty million extension
with Miami, including a team option. Justice Winslow is part
of the package headed to Memphis to forward. Had played
in only eleven games before the heath this this season

(04:09):
because of injuries. There had been reports of the of
the Oklahoma City Thunder being a part of this three
team d of a three team trade including a Gonzala
and also including Danila Gallinari, but right now there has
been issues with contract negotiations when it comes to Gallo year.
Not long after landing Clint Cabela, the Atlanta Ogs received
center Dwayne Deadman from the Sacramento Gings in exchange to

(04:32):
the exchange UH for forwards u Javari Parker and center
Alex Land. Sacramento was also sending Atlanta twenty one second
round pick in the deal as well. The Philadelphia seventy
sixers made a move Wednesday to fortify their banch landing
forward Glenn Robinson the third and guard Alec Alec Burke's
in a trade with the Golden State Warriors. Philadelphia is
sending Golden State second round Pickki and Dallas one second

(04:56):
round pick via Denver and in twenty two second round
pick via That's Rono Raptors. In baseball, infielder Max Munsey
is in agreement with the Dodgers on a three year,
twenty six million dollar extension, sources tell The Athletic. The
deal also includes a thirteen point five million dollar option
four or fourth year for or fourth year or or
one point five million dollar buyout. And finally, the Yankees

(05:18):
injury bug from last season has jump jumped to twenty season,
even before pitchers and catchers arrived. Starting pitcher James Paxton
is expected to miss three to four months after undergoing
back surgery on Wednesday. I am Chris Bavona, and that
has been your Sports spread Network back to the spitting statistician.

(05:41):
So thanks a lot, Thanks a lot, Chris. It's good
to have you, you know, kind of in my ear again.
Uh you know, back to like oh Man, back in
the days, right Bovona, when we used to be doing freestyle.
Uh you know, fetti wop Wednesdays, you know, all sorts
of stuff back then. Um as you know. Oh, by
the way, I gotta update the status of the beat cipher.
Remember how Fantasy Freestyle is now a three time nominee

(06:05):
for the best radio show in the industry. They gave
out the awards last night and uh no, your boy
Speeds did not take it home. But to be a
finalist is you know, it's very cool. Shout out to
Jeff Radcliff over at PFF. Uh he took it down
for the fourth year in a row. So I've already
been uh hollering at him, like, yo, why don't you
go on vacation or something like that this year, you know.

(06:25):
But we're gonna try and bring it here new time.
But you know, as always, we're gonna get it going.
And we got Alex Assano down there in the pit
of misery. Alex, I have a few questions for you.
We gotta get you on record, okay, So we gotta
pull question up all right, and our poll question you
could always find it at Spitting Speeds at Sports Grid,
at F and T s Y Radio. You know, Alex,

(06:47):
you know, the the NFL just you know finished, we
had the Chiefs Parade and all that good stuff. But
this weekend we got more football. We got the XFL.
So my poll question up is because remember last year
the a F started and folded before they crowned the champion.
Will the XFL even finish their first season? Will they

(07:08):
crown a champ? Okay, and right now, Alex, we got it.
The poll question is up. Most people think yes. About
three quarters of the people say yes. Say yes, percent
say no. My man Fasano down there in the pit
of misery, what say you? Will the XFL actually crown
a champion before they fold? Dilley, Dilley, know what's up,

(07:30):
Alex man. I'm happy to help you in anyway. Yeah,
of course. Uh. And to your question, I firmly am
a strong believer in the x FL. Really, I truly am.
Because let me tell you something, Okay, tell me why.
And we know about he hate me. He hate I
Remember I was when I was starting to get into
wrestling around two thousand four, so I knew about he

(07:53):
hate me, and I knew that the football in the
middle of the field to go tax great idea for players,
say exactly, Um, but as a fan of football and
a fan of wrestling, I think they're smarter than that.
They know what they did wrong last time a f
they this time alright. I think they're poised for at
least a season or two they got. They're smarter this year.

(08:15):
They're excited. We're seeing more teams get ready. The merchandise
looks awesome. Yeah, that's true. My boy telling me go Vipers.
Is that what he's on right now? The Vipers are
the second choice. Okay, they are four to one to
win the XFL Championship to Tampa Bay Vipers. The Dallas
Renegades are the favorites, and then Gabes Vipers. They are

(08:37):
two point road favorites. So that's saying something. Okay, there
two point road favorites in New York on what I
believe must be Saturday is where a lot of these
games are happening to on Saturday to on Sunday. Here's
what I think though, honestly, Fasano, they've got a TV deal,
you know what I mean? These games are gonna be
on Fox, and I think that's a little bit better

(08:57):
than whatever it was like Bleacher Reports, Straight Eaming or
whatever it was for the A A F CBS Sports Line.
You know, so they have a real TV deal. I
think that means something. And to your point, Vince McMahon
ain't putting out his own money to just be a
failure twice, you know what I mean? Um, So I
hear that um on the Early Line, which you guys know,

(09:18):
I'm on with Joe Verneri from seven to nine a m.
Monday through Friday. Tomorrow. We're gonna have our guy Mike
Blewett on the show because he's doing the XTFL show
for Sports Grade every week. He's gonna be plugged into this,
so we'll check it out. Here's what I'm thinking, though, Honestly,
if I look at the futures right for the XFL,
there's eight teams in the league. Man, why not just

(09:41):
take like the three biggest long shots out of everybody,
because you know, the Dallas Runnagades are your favorites right
there at like plus three seventy five. You know I'm
gonna but but I don't care because football is a
violent game, you know what I mean. What happens when
they're starting quarterback goes down in week two. I just
think it's such you know, it's such a um we

(10:01):
don't know much about these teams were on the even
playing field in terms of information with a lot of
these books that are capping it. You know, so maybe
the Vipers, the Renegades, the Guardians, what have you. Maybe
there are a step above these other teams, like the
battle Hawks of the Dragons. But how do we actually know,
you know, I'm just looking for value, so I'm gonna go.

(10:22):
I might lay these big time dogs the St. Louis
the Seattle team at ten to one, twelve to one.
That maybe where I go, unless, of course, Mike Blewett
can convince me otherwise. I also wanted to get your
take really quickly, um Fasano, because this is something and
if you're in the chat room, I want your thoughts
on the XFL. I want your thoughts on this. You know, Alex,

(10:43):
it went under kind of noticed, but in the Pro
Bowl they tried something. Now they tried out something to
replace the on side kick, and I think that's very interesting.
I'd like to get people's thoughts on it because remember
now with the kickoff, they can't run, So it made
on side kicks be like a and percent proposition. If that,
and so they're looking for ways to spice it up.

(11:03):
And in the Pro Bowl, I don't know if you
saw it, Alex want they are giving you. They're giving
you a chance to have one play fourth and fifteen
from your twenty or your own twenty or twenty five
yard line, and they're doing that instead of an on
side kick. I'd love your thoughts. And if you think,
you know, that's cool, that spices it up. And if

(11:27):
that's the same kind of value proposition, is that a
fifteen percent conversion? Is it's smart? I'll get your thoughts.
I want your thoughts in the chat room. Do you
like the fourth and fifteen from your own twenty or
twenty five as the on side kick. We'll talk about
that when we come back on the other side of
the break all my breakdown from Super Bowl fifty four
game commercials, halftime, all that come on back Dilly Dilly

(11:48):
to the crew. Is the stats open beat site for

(12:32):
the killers and the hundred dollar billas. Ain't no such
things as halfway crooks, and there ain't no such things
as halfway members of the stats overbeat Cipher. If you've
been with me for the last four hundred and thirty
five episodes, then you know what it is already. So
what did you think, Alex? You know, what do you
think about? This is the idea of fourth and fifteen

(12:54):
from your own? Like, you think that's comparable to an
onside kick. I think it's gonna be. That's what I'm
That's why I'm so excited about the XFL. I think
this is something different. It's something we've never seen before.
And you know, there's gonna be fans of wrestling, there's
gonna be fans of football fans of sports in general.
They don't want kicks in the XFL that they do

(13:15):
not want you to kick off, They do not want
you to do any field goal this they want you
to go for these points. They want high scoring games.
And to your point about for an odds perspective, we
don't know what to expect with that. That's the thing
we are on even footing exactly. We don't know what
the totals could be for all we know exactly, so
we have no clue what to expect until this weekend
finishes and we have an idea of what kind of

(13:36):
skill sets we got in these players, what kind of
teams exactly, So so that being the case, give me
ten to one, give me twin twelve to one as
opposed to four to one, with everything else, as you know,
unknown for the most part. Yeah, we know these rosters.
Yeah we may be getting early reports from beat reporters
or practices things like that, but we all know. And
you know, last I heard, football is still a violent game,

(13:58):
especially if there's no fair catches, you know what I mean.
So we'll see really quickly. Jim us up. You mentioned
you talking about the possibility of taking the four like
biggest right like h and apparently the Los Angeles Wildcats
play the Houston Roughnecks four. Yeah, they are interesting, so
one of them will go one to know exactly all right,
fair enough, and remember you can hit us up on

(14:19):
Twitter and see if you think they'll even get through
the inacural season, unlike the a AF. But anyway, listen,
I know everybody's talked to Super Bowl. The death the
parade has already happened. But you know, for the status
of the beat cipher, because we're doing this once a week, Um,
we got to talk about it, right, so you know
Alex for me, obviously everyone's gonna get on Coyle Shanahan, right,
he was throwing the ball again, there was like five

(14:41):
minutes left. They ran the ball with most already got
five yards on first down, then they throw the ball
on second and third down. You know, the idea of also,
why didn't they push it for an extra score at
the end of the first half, you know, why didn't
they take their time out? So the Shanahan game management
is going to be an issue, is going to be
a question. But honestly, for me, the biggest thing, and

(15:03):
remember going into the game, if you were listening here
on Fantasy Freestyle, I was saying, the key will be
what happens if and when the game is ever on
Jimmy Garoppolo's arm, if it was with really Jimmy g
that had to do it, And for about two and
a half quarters he was putting it in my eye, Alex.
I mean he was eighteen of twenty I think at
one point, right. So the fact that he was eighteen

(15:26):
and of twenty at one point and then finished the
game twenty of thirty one is really all you need
to know. He finished it with the ten point lead,
going two for nine or three for nine, getting sacked,
throwing picks. I think that was really about what it was.
But I also will give credit to Patrick Mahomes not
for just what he was on the field before, what

(15:47):
he was on that sideline. I remember against the Houston Texans,
they're down twenty four nothing, it's Mahomes going up and
down that sideline. We got this, We're gonna make history.
When they're down big to Tennessee. He's staying calm, uplifting
the crew, you know. And that in contrast to what
you see at a guys like Cam Newton, what you
see at a guys like Mitchell Trobiskie. When I say

(16:07):
they may not be leaders of men. You saw the
same thing in the Super Bowl with them. Downten Tyree
Hill admitted he thought it was done. I gotta tell
you everyone's saying when they thought it was done. I
heard Gabe talk about when Mahomes through the pick. For me,
it was when they overturned the replay of the Tyree
Hill catch because they like converted some big second and fifteen,

(16:30):
keep a drive going a drive I thought they needed
to score on and then they overturned the replay to
make it incomplete, to make it third and fifteen. I
was like, oh, now their backs are really up against
the wall. If they don't if they don't get um,
if they don't get uh, you know this conversion, it
could be a problem. And then out of nowhere, right
he chucks it up under pressure, gets a forty yard

(16:51):
past the Tyreek Hill, and there you go, and on
we move. Just a quick note here. I know we're
focused on the NFL, but it is breaking right now
that D'Angelo rush Soul has in fact been moved from
the Golden State Warriors. I'll get you more details on
that trade as we go along here in fantasy Freestyle
and give you the details as they are coming down.

(17:11):
But remember, with the trade deadline now mere hours away,
less than two hours away, there is going to be
some moving and shaking and appears like D'Angelo Russell will
be finding a new address. You know, I hope he's
not dropping any dimes on any more on any more players,
and there you know their dirty deeds. But that's besides
the point. Okay, will we hear the name Andre Drummond?

(17:33):
Will we hear the name uh Marcus Morris? Will we
hear the name Carl Anthony Towns? You know, these are
things we gotta pay attention to as well. But I
gotta tell you that's what it was for me, alright,
Jimmy g not finishing it up even as a game manager,
and Patrick Mahomes inspiring the team keeping going. Do I
think Damian Williams should have been m v P. Yeah,

(17:55):
but that's not ultimately what happened. Then, if you're real
deal stats over beat Cipher you know now now, Alex,
I don't know if you know about this, but I
was doing speeds versus the kids right where I was
picking all these playoff games against literally kids to see
if expertise mattered. And to be quite honest, Alex, going
into the Super Bowl, I was tied with a four

(18:15):
year old. Alright, Alex, me and a four year old,
we're picking at the same rate. Okay, but I said
I was rolling with Kansas City. It's uh ms Cora.
She is four years old. She's the daughter of one
of our biggest stats over beat cipher Um fans and
listeners and friends, Danny Lee from the undisclosed location. So

(18:35):
let's put up the video just so that you know
this is above board, okay, and I ain't cheating, all right,
This is not me banging on garbage cans. People. Let's
play the video and see who was Cora's official pick
for the Super Bowl. Run the video, Alex, all right,

(18:56):
Let's see who she goes with. M She just does cool,
all right. So there you have the people. Cora was
going with the forty niners for the Super Bowl. She

(19:16):
picked them, You're asked why because she thinks they're gonna win.
Because she does as you know. Okay, if you were
listening here on Freestyle the week before the Super Bowl
or even the morning of the Super Bowl, you heard
my official pick. You heard some of my plays for
m v P for the total, and you even heard
me give out the exact score. Run my picks, Alex

(19:38):
go ahead to have them like feeling each other out
in the first quarter, and it won't be dynamic right away.

(20:00):
I like the first quarter under at ten and a half.
I like the first half under, and I believe six
and a half on the score. I'm on Chiefs bang bang.
So there you have it. Okay, not only did I
go Chiefs choral at niners, but I nailed to score
cold people. Alright. So and I know this is like

(20:22):
you know, big things, but yes, I once again beat
all the kids. I will say this. There's been a
lot of, um, there's been a lot of consternation about
one prop bet. And you know, we do game of
inches here on the Fantasy Freestyle, and you know we
look at some bad beats, the torn tickets, especially in
the Fantasy world right where you really lost your game
because say of a quarterback kneel down. For example, right,

(20:45):
we had famously someone lost their playoff matchup um a
few months ago because of quarterback kneel downs and then
losing by less than a tenth of a point. Well
in the Super Bowl, the Pat Mahomes rushing total started
at twenty seven and a half, went up to twenty
eight and a half, went up to thirty and a half.
I think it closed at like thirty one and a half,

(21:05):
maybe even thirty two. I was giving out people that
I liked the over on the Mahomes rushing prop right
because I thought they would get some pressure. But Mahomes
was running a little bit more healthier as we moved
along with the kneecap, with the ankle right ran for
over fifty yards, and both playoff games against Tennessee and
against Houston, I was on the over. I got it

(21:27):
at over twenty eight and a half. Now going into
the you know, kind of last drive in the middle
of the fourth quarter, Mahomes scrambled and he got to
forty four rushing yards. I'm high fiving people in the
in the house party where I'm watching the game, right,
But then they get the ball back and then you
know they're gonna kneel on it. But on first down,
as you saw, Mahomes takes it and runs back like

(21:49):
five yards before kneeling down. He's trying to kill clock.
He's trying to drain every possible second, and I'm like,
oh snap, he just lost five yards. Then second down hits,
he does it again. Oh snap, he just lost three yards.
And then third down comes and they like take a
time out, and Andy Reid is getting in his ear

(22:10):
and you know that what he's telling him is run backwards,
kill as much clock as you can. And I'm like,
oh my god. On third down he lost seven yards.
He lost fifteen yards on three kneel downs, moving him
from forty four rushing yards down to twenty nine rushing yards.
And that murdered the rushing prop for a lot of

(22:33):
people who got it at twenty nine and a half,
who got it at thirty and a half, I was lucky,
all right, But talk about one of the worst beats ever.
The man lost fifteen yards on three kneel downs. Now
I'm hearing that in some of the books in Jersey
bet Online, I think is one and a couple of others.
They realized that that was a horrible, horrible beat, and
they're paying out both sides or they're giving you a

(22:55):
refund on the bet. I call this like karma, but
it's also just listen, this is just their advertising budget, right,
because then they're in the news that they're doing it.
They figured there wasn't a ton of handle on it,
So they're just letting people know because now, as a
consumer in this market, you've got options. You want to
be like, oh, maybe they'll forgive a bad beat, right,

(23:16):
And so I think that was really interesting. I'm lucky
that I got it at twenty eight and a half.
But Fossano, that is really the worst beat ever on
a prop bet. He lost fifteen yards on three kneel downs.
Oh I'm a little upset still too about my number
of players with a passage. Yeah, man, I was on
that one also, Deebo Samuel. It looked like in first quarter,
first drive, it looked like he was gonna be throwing right,

(23:36):
And then they did it with Hardman also on the
chief side, and there was one play where he like
ran out of bounds and lost five yards. That's where
you just gotta throw it out of bounds save the yardage.
I completely agree Fossano, But hey, what are you gonna
do all right when we come back on the other
side of the break. Yes, first of all, we'll keep
it so fresh and so clean. I like with the tracks,

(23:59):
and then what we will do was we will look
ahead to free agency. Okay, we'll go position by position.
We'll see who the big names are, if do we
think they're gonna stay or truly be on the move,
and if so, where might they be Heading details on

(25:04):
right here on Fantasy Freestyle episode four thirty five. Getting
some more details here on this D'Angelo Russell deal. It
looks like he's been built to the Minnesota Timberwolves. And
Andrew Wiggins is coming back to Golden State. I think
that's very interesting. Now you've got Stephan Clay there. I
think Wiggins can kind of play like a almost like
remember they had Harrison Barnes for a while there, Okay,

(25:27):
and he can kind of play that Harrison Barnes role
for the Dubs. And then on the other side in Minnesota,
you now pair D'Angelo Russell along with you know, Karl
Anthony Thomas, I mean, excuse me, Karl Anthony Towns and
others there in Minnesota. But all right, um, and also listen,
trade deadlines an hour and a half away. All right,
but we're gonna hear a lot of things here in
New York. I know, Marcus Morris is someone who a

(25:49):
lot of people have been talking about. I think he
is a valuable piece. There is some buzz about him
going out to l A to the Lakers, um, potentially
returning Kyle Kuzma back to the New York Knicks. None
of that is official. We'll see what happens over the
course of the next few hours. All right, there, Fossano,
Let's get into this a little bit. All right, We've
talked about the Super Bowl what that means, you know,

(26:12):
for the Chiefs, for the Niners. But you know what
I find interesting, Fissano. Right away, Chris Jones is talking
about Yeah, we got a dynasty. O, we got a dynasty.
Chris Jones is a free agent, so how do we
know if he's gonna be even part of any dynasty
that the Chiefs have. Right there is so much movement
that will happen here in the next two months. You know,

(26:34):
the new League years starts at the beginning of March.
Free agency will be moving right, Trades will happen, signing
trades will happen, and then, of course the run up
to the draft, anybody who strikes out in free agency
will look to address their needs via the draft in
late April. So let's look at it, Alex, because you know,
we focus on football here. I know there's Major League

(26:55):
Baseball pitchers and catchers. James Paxton with the back surgery
would have been nice if we would have known that
he could have had that surgery a couple of months ago.
But hey, I digress. I don't know how cysts work.
I do know it's good that they wind up keeping
j Hap I'll tell you that. And I know there's
a lot of basketball moves. But if you're real deal,
stats over beat Cipher. And you've been with Fantasy Freestyle
for over four hundred and thirty episodes. You know that

(27:18):
we play football all the time, right, So so, Alex,
first of all, what do you think we have been
talking about this for a month or so about how
this is gonna be a very exciting time for player movement?
All right? There are gonna be some key players, and
I guess you know, we'll talk about the quarterbacks later
on because that's really the big one, right we could

(27:40):
we could almost do a whole show on the quarterbacks,
but let's talk running back here, Okay, I think the
big haul is we all know Derrick Henry is a
big one. We got the graphic up you see in
the top left here you see some of the available
running backs, right, Derrick Henry, Kareem Hunt, Austin Ekeler Kenyan, Drake,
Melvin Gordon. Probably there's as well that are maybe lower

(28:02):
level things, and then you know there's buzz like oh,
will Levan Bell get traded? Right? Stuff like that. I
think Derrick Henry is the big one, right, Alex. So
I guess the first question is will they stay or
will they go? So out of you know, Gordon Drake, Eckler, Hunt,
and Henry I think personally, And tell me if you
agree or co sign this. I think Derrick Henry stays

(28:25):
in Tennessee. I think Kareem Hunt is a Gonner because
you have Chubb. This was that that kind of one year,
try to re revamp the image. He didn't do great
with the drunk driving thing recently. But I think Hunts
on the move because they can't pay Hunt and Chub.
You know they they know that now Hunt is valuable.
Hunts gonna get offers elsewhere. Eckler and Gordon being there

(28:45):
I think is hysterical, right, because the Chargers I think
will keep one of them. I think it'll actually be Eckler,
not Melvin Gordon. Right, And but what I need to
know is I need to know who the damn quarterback
for the Chargers is first, right, And then you have
Ken and Drake. That's an interesting one. I put David
Johnson on the list as well, right, because Arizona is

(29:06):
not going to keep both of them. So let's dig
in first, Um, do you agree first of all that
Henry gets retained by the Titans. I think because he's
the big fish, right exactly? And when you come when
it comes down to it, when you have to pay
one of them with Henry or Tannehill. You know, yeah,
I think one of them at the end of the
day was so we like Henry to stick with Tennessee ultimate. Alright,

(29:30):
let's look at this charger situation. Gordon or Eckler, Who
do you think stays? I think I think stays all right,
so I do as well. That means Melvin Gordon is
going somewhere. Okay. So as we look, I have three
teams Alex that I think will be in the running
back market, okay, and I can see Melvin Gordon being

(29:52):
in these places. I I thought of three places. Okay,
tell me if you think these fit. One is Tampa Bay, Okay,
they have been looking like do they believe really? And
Ronald Jones taking that step forward right or not? That's
one Another for me is Houston. Okay. They addressed it
a little bit. They got Duke Johnson. Carlos Hide had

(30:12):
a nice year. I believe Hide is a free agent.
I believe Lamar Miller, who everyone on this network no sucks,
but he's also a free agent. Right, So the cover
could be bear what imagine giving Deshaun Watson a true
top level running back there. You know, they've got the
wide receivers. Right. What about Houston, They're a team that
could be on the precipice they're clearing out. You know

(30:36):
there are other running back personnel. I think Houston is interesting.
And here's the third. The third for me is a
little bit more pie in this guy. Can you imagine
if the Seattle running backs Seattle Seahawks ever had a
Drew leap back again when Russell Wilson, you know, they
had now have DK metcalf and lock it on the outside.
You know Carson he was a legit RB two in fantasy,

(30:57):
but he had the fumbling issue, then the injuries. You know.
So those are teams that I'm looking at, Houston, Tampa
and Seattle for this running back market. Whether it's a
Melvin Gordon, whether it's a guy like Kenyan Drake or
David Johnson. What do you think? Oh, you don't think
Marshall Lint and Robert Turbin. No, I don't think they're No,
I don't think they're the answer. Seattle is interesting, but
you know they have they don't have the cap space

(31:18):
that say Houston does. Sure, exactly. No, I think you're
you're You're absolutely right. Melvin Gordon is the guy on
moving You're right. He could fit in any of those
uh those teams here. Um, but you know, I'm a
little concerned. He's twenty seven, which isn't too old, right,
but he has to have the injury concern and we
didn't really see him too much this season. I mean,
was the guy. I believe Eckler is the fantasy m
v P of the season. Okay, because yeah, for the

(31:41):
entire league. Okay, because I know, you know, Lamar Jackson
and stuff, but people knew where to draft Lamar Jackson.
Austin Ekeler was kind of your Steelers fan, Alex. It's
kind of like last year's James Conner, you know what
I mean. People were not drafting James Conner early. They
wound up gifted him like falling in their lap, and
they won leagues because of it. That's what Austin did

(32:03):
for people like and even an expert leads. I got
Austin Ekeler in places in like the eighth, ninth round,
and he wound up returning top twelve RB value, you
know what I mean. So I digress, But what do
you I mean, what about the Arizona Backs, right, Kenyan Drake,
David Johnson. I think they want to retain So what
does that mean for a guy like David Johnson? Another
team out there? You know what about a team like

(32:25):
the Miami Dolphins. They have no running back? You know
what I mean, unless you believe in a guy like
Patrick Laird or Miles right. Right, So maybe I got
like David Johnson with a fresh start in the right scheme,
you could go to Miami. Do you see a guy
like Melvin Gordon or Kareem Hunt going to Miami? Too
much trouble to get into for a guy like Kareem

(32:46):
Hunt in Miami. I'm just concerned with David Johnson specifically
because again it's not really too old years old, Um,
but what do you play like? Because remember he came
into the league older than most. Yeah, and when he
the injury concerns are definitely there. I mean only got
like you got list than four hundred this year Johnson.
I mean I picked him up in one of my
leagues as as a top PIC and I was so
severely disappointed. And now I'm turned off from David Johnson

(33:06):
for the rest of my fantasy career. That's unfortunate, but
I think he is on the move and he could go,
uh somewhere along those lines. I could see DVID in Miami.
So let me know in the chat. Let me know
if you think there's other like destinations for running backs. Okay,
let's turn our attention to the wide receiver market here,
All right, let's put it up. Alright, So we got
here listed Manny Sanders, Robby Anderson, cob A J. Green.

(33:27):
The big one is a Marie Cooper, right, I mean
VENM O'Brien there in the pit probably knows better. I
personally think they're gonna franchise Doc and pay a Mari.
What do you think? And what about Zeke Well exactly.
The walls are closing in, So does Marie Cooper stay
or does he go? I don't know. I mean, Marie
Cooper really wasn't you know, the guy? He was the

(33:50):
guy a little bit this year. But at the same time,
I mean he only actually I really shouldn't be saying
that twelve yards. Yeah, man, he've turned good VALUEV eight touchdowns.
I'm looking at it. You're right, you know, I think
you're really right. They gotta take Dac for sure. I
think they pay a Mari, and they pay Mari. You
are because he was You know, you look at the
Cowboys this year, Marie Cooper, Zeke Elliott, and Dak Prescott.
You gotta keep that trio together or or Jerry might

(34:11):
not be too happy. Yeah, he wants to recreate the triplets, right,
so absolutely, um many Sanders, there will be a market
for him. I think he's very valuable sticking in San
Francisco if they can swing it. Robbie Anderson is an
interesting one because the Jets are kind of wide receiver thirsty, right,
so they can't let their actual best wide receiver walk.
You know, he's gotten better year after year. He started

(34:33):
off as just kind of a deep threat. And you
can take the graphic down. Um, but he started off
as kind of just a deep threat. But he's been
better and better. He's kind of building chemistry with Sam Donald.
You don't want to take away Sam Donald's best weapon.
As you hope Sam Donald continues to ascend in his
third year. I think they're gonna stay. I think they're
gonna keep or resign Robby Asenson, what do you say?

(34:55):
I think you're right? Okay, I think they're not gonna
draft too heavy in terms of wide receivers because we know, uh,
you know, Sam Donald, we've a little help protecting himself
to yourself, so you're I'm sure you know a little
more into what exactly their needs are. Um, but their
needs are easy. It's offensive line, edge rusher, and and secondary.
There you go. If the Jets don't use their like
three of their first four picks on offensive lineman, I'm

(35:18):
gonna I'm gonna have a conneption on draft night fandom
a little bit or no, that will not happen. Um,
you don't actually met Robby Anderson, one very nice guy. Um,
And you're absolutely right that same that same year I
drafted him in fantasy and now he actually helped me
want to leave. So they'll find a way to keep him, right,
I think, right, he has to build. He's built a
rapport with uh Donald, right exactly. I think it'd be

(35:39):
prudent to keep him. The key one for me is
a J. Green. Now a J. Green is saying all
the right things, right, I want to be in Cincinnati
all that stuff. Bull, You don't want to be at
the beginning of a you know, rebuilding process. Within NUNG
quarterback early year coach. I think there's some spots that
A J. Green he will be applies possession. We talked

(35:59):
about where that may go, and then Alex, let's look
at the quarterback market, because it ain't only free agents
in the quarterback market. The merry go round and the
dominoes have already started to fall. We'll talk A. J.
Green and the quarterback market. On the other side of
the break, It's fantasy freestyle. You heard Hilly Day. I

(37:03):

Grade episode four thirty five. Big shout out to my
stats over beat cipher members in the chat room. Tommy Gunns,
Jay Dog, they know what it is. Dilly dilly to
the crew. All right, we got Fasano in there in
the pit of misery, you know, talking through some of
these things with me. We left off talking about a J. Green.

(37:24):
I think a J. Green is very interesting, Alex, because
he is not a diva wide receiver, you know what
I mean exactly? Okay, So I've got some places that
I think he could literally be the cherry on top
for a couple of teams, Alex, I really believe that.
Exhibit A. The Green Bay Packers, you know, Davante Adams

(37:49):
for the entire year was like the only guy there, right,
It was like, oh my goodness, Jake Kumeroo, Geronimo Allison,
Marcus Baldes scantling right, and they were never able to
get that that threat opposite Davante Adams for Aaron Rodgers,
Macock is ticking on Aaron Rodgers, the clock is ticking
on a J. Green. I think that could be a

(38:10):
very interesting spot for a J. Green. What to say,
you to actually bolster that offense a little bit more,
give them a little bit of you know, kind of
balance on the other side. Remember you know people were
shadowing Davante Adams. It was like Davante Adams or bust. Right,
Imagine they got a J. Green on the other side. No,
you're absolutely right. I think it could fit perfectly him
and he's still got talent, same talent, same theory. Imagine

(38:34):
the opposite Michael Thomas on the New Orleans Saints. They
have been trying to fill that number two role in
New Orleans for a while, right. They flirted with Dez Bryant,
They did a workout for Antonio Brown. They thought Jared
Cook could do some of that from the tight end spot.
You have Camara there as well. Imagine a reputable wide
received because you gotta stop Michael Thomas, right, you gotta

(38:55):
stop Michael Thomas. If I'm a J. Green and if
Drew Brees is like, yeah, I'll come back for one
more a year, I'd be like, uh, yes, please, I'm down,
you know what I mean. So what about that New
Orleans along with Green Bay, those are contending teams. Because
the thing for me also Alex is, you know when
you get to the kind of back end of your career,
like a J. Green is he doesn't want to toil

(39:16):
in Cincinnati anymore. You know, he wants to go ring chasing,
and in Green Bay that's possible. In New Orleans that's possible.
In alex in Buffalo that's possible. I was just gonna say,
you're sticking with the NFC. In Buffalo, that's possible. Team
and Buffalo that's possible, And unfortunately, you know where else

(39:37):
is that's possible? And f in New England that's possible. Right.
Can you imagine that Brady finally gets a professional wide
receiver that he could build with. I think it would
work well, But let me ask you this green He's
thirty one years old, right, and you're talking about New
Orleans and Green Bay, all these teams with quarterbacks who
were probably this is a short term solutions left that say,

(40:00):
you know, you know what I mean. But but what
if a j says I have three years in me,
and what if all the quarterbacks have one or two?
And then you go to Buffalo he's gonna be willing
to play with you, and you go to Buffalo, or
then you go to like, uh, you know another team
that's out there that has been looking to address the
wide receiver position. And I gotta get this right. Is
the Vegas Raiders right? They tried with Antonio Brown that

(40:20):
obviously doesn't work right, Maybe you get the safe version
in a J. Green. I actually think that's an interesting spot.
If that conversation with new head coach in Cleveland's the fans,
kain Odell Beckham doesn't go well, I think he could
be a fit out in Las Vegas as well. But
enough about that, because we will update all of these
and we looked at things like we'll look at Lineman's
secondary guys. We'll keep that graphic, Okay, Alex for maybe

(40:42):
future weeks, but let's start no attention to the quarterback
position because honestly, I just want to play a game
with you, Alex. Okay, Because for the quarterbacks, yeah, there's
free agents, but then there's also other guys. You know.
For example, we hear about oh uh, Philip Rivers maybe
on the move, and like Indianapolis is a potential destination, Well,
what does that mean for Jacoby Bricatt. We're hearing that

(41:06):
Tom Brady is being recruited by the Vegas Raiders, so
so what does that mean for car you know, so
we have to put a lot of people on this
Merry Go round. Okay, this is gonna be part one.
This is like round one of Jeopardy. Okay, So what
we're gonna do is we're gonna throw out the names
and we're gonna just first answer, Alex, do we think
stay or go? And if they will ultimately still be

(41:28):
a starting quarterback in the league or a backup? Okay,
now this is Jeopardy. Does that make you Ken Jennings
or yeah? You know, listen, I like my man James
because he's got the sports investment right background. But Ken
Jennings took him down, So you know, as long as
we're not Bred Rutter whatever that guy's name is. Right, Um,
So my first guy I want to ask you about

(41:50):
is Andy Dalton. So Andy Dalton stay or go? Probably go? Right,
no question? All right? We think so he's far on
the going somewhere else continuum. Will he be a starter
somewhere or will he be relegated to becoming a backup?
I think he has to have an option to start earlier,
so he's gonna go to a place to be a starter.

(42:12):
So he's gonna be in the marketplace for all these
teams because as we go through them, if quarterbacks go somewhere,
then they have a vacancy, right, and Andy Dalton could
be one of those people. All right, let's go through
the list here. Philip Rivers going not with the charges right,
and you think he's still a starter. I think he's
still got some left in him. Alright, veteran quarterback. He
only thirty eight years old. You know there's lot of

(42:33):
guys who are forty years old and still on the move.
So cool, this one is interesting for me. Cam freaking Newton,
do you think he's like, oh, Matt Rule Joe Brady
passing coordinator, offensive coordinator? Maybe I want to stay or
is he done in Caroline? Well with Matt Rule entering?
Do you think he trusts? Will Greer know? I think

(42:56):
I think I think the Panthers maybe shopping here. So
what do you think? Stay or go for Caim? What
do you want to put him with? Sort of in
the middle. I want to put him in the middle.
I don't think he's certainly gone for good. This is
what we have to figure out, right, So maybe Carolina
is not a destination for these other quarterbacks. You have
them kind of you're riding the fence on camp. But
he's definitely a starter, right, so on the NFL camp.

(43:18):
All right, here's where it gets interesting. Marcus Mariota. Well,
here's the thing. We just talked about it before, how
we said they might franchise Tannas keep learning from someone
like that. So I'm gonna tell you the truth. I
think Mariota is gone. I think he's going somewhere, and unfortunately,
I think, much like to Rod, Taylor had to kind

(43:40):
of accept as a backup role over time. I think
Mariota is a backup somewhere next year, Alex. Do you
think he's gonna be happy with that? No, but it's
what the market dictates, right. He's not gonna get starter money.
So if his only options are to like, you know,
back up someone, just like to Rod, that's what he's
gonna have to do. I think he's a QB two.
Mariota married as a Heisman winner right at or Yeah,

(44:01):
so I think he'd been willing to take the role
of let me see what I can do teach anybody
who needs to be anything. They don't know that. I
A right, you know he can work you still young too.
I think I think he's interesting. All right, here's the
big fish dB twelve, Tom Brady, what do you think
Ultimatelyzi in a Patriot uniform? I think he is all right,
So I think he stays and he's clearly the starting quarterback.

(44:21):
There you mentioned Tannehill a bunch, So what do you
think they do? Franchise Tag all the way? All right?
So he stays and he is the starting quarterback of
the Tennessee Titans. All right? Uh Dak, you think they
franchise him? I think Jerry doesn't want to, but he's
gonna have to fine. Um, Jamis Winston, See this is

(44:45):
the right. This is your toughest, one of the toughestest ones.
I got it. Yeah, there's a couple, but yeah, Jamis,
what do you think. I think there's too much buzz.
I think where there's smoked, there's fire on this one. Okay,
So I think he's going somewhere. The real question is,
is Jamis Winston a starter? Like if you're, for example,
if you're one of these franchises, right, so like you're

(45:06):
saying the Chargers will have a vacancy at quarterback, and
we you know, maybe they go in the draft route, right,
maybe they drafted Justin Herbert or something like that. But
if you're the Chargers. Are you trying to sign Jamis
or like Mariota or Andy Dalton or do you consider
maybe one of the other backs. So that's the thing
is Jamis in the QB market as a starter. Will

(45:29):
he get starter money offers? I think he will only
from teams with good enough defenses that can interesting. See
how we're putting the puzzle pieces together. Okay, so this
is like phase one, Jacoby Brissette. Listen, it sounds like
Rivers is in there, right. I think Brissette stays and

(45:50):
he's the QB two. Remember he was the backup quarterback there.
Andrew luck was supposed to be the starting quarterback, right,
and then Indianapolis paid him, but they didn't give him
harder money. They gave him bridge money. I think Brissette
stays because listen, the Colts are I think a good roster,
and I think, you know, if you're a good roster,
a playoff roster, you need depth, right, you need the

(46:12):
Nick Foles backup, you need the whatever. So I think
Prissette is a great backup quarterback. I think he stays,
but he gets leap frogged on the depth chart by
one of these new quarterbacks on the Merry Go Round.
I think you're right. And to his credit to he
still got talent. I mean didn't this season he had
like two at least two touches. I hear you, man,
seven weeks, I hear you. And if it worked with
Indian they didn't necessarily win every time, but they'll like

(46:33):
him and he worked for so we got a few
more here. A lot of people have buzz about the
Vegas Raiders, you know, bringing in Brady or whatever. So
to me, that means Gruden is not sold on Car.
So what do you think about Car? Is Car in
a Raiders uniform next year? I think to start first
year in Vegas they have to keep him. Okay, so

(46:54):
he stays there just for the like maybe first year?
Is he the starter? I think you just gotta goal
with what you know. Okay, Okay, with the new move
too much more, just keep with what you got. Fine, alright,
two more, Let's do two more here and this will
be how we established where the openings are for the
Merry Go Round? Right um, Teddy Bridge woulda that's a

(47:18):
big one right there. It is because, first of all,
obviously the Drew Brees decision, we need to know, right,
Teddy Bridgewater is going to get offers to be a
starting quarterback this year, I'm telling you, right, So where
is he in New Orleans? I don't think he does,
because they do have Taysom Hill, right, right, So you
think Teddy is a starting quarterback outside of New Orleans

(47:43):
next year? I do? Okay? Interesting, so you think he's
in the market place. I got one more for you.
I got one more for you, and then we gotta
keep going. We transition a more great programming here on
sports grid. Um fits magic, he stays. He just the
quarterback of the Dolphins. Next year you have a guy
who can beat the Patriots. Is he just the bridge

(48:04):
for whoever they draft? Right? They draft to us a
number five. But Fitzpatrick is like the mentor, the good
locker room guy. You think he stays and is the
QB one for the Dolphins. So what this means though,
and we'll pick this up next week, Alex, But you
you're saying that there's openings in Carolina with the Chargers,
with the Bengals, with the Titans, right, maybe in Tampa,

(48:28):
maybe in New Orleans as well, So we'll see how
these guys fill those roles. Next week on Freestyle, will
be here Thursday one o'clock for the stats over beat Cipher.
Come on back. We'll make it happen as we always do.
