Speaker 1 (00:01):
Fantasy Sports Radio Network. Ahead of Game number one in
the NBA Finals, the Golden State Warriors did announce that
DeMarcus Cousins was available to play. He has made his
way back from it gruesome quad injury that many thought
would keep him out all of the postseason. Of course,
DeMarcus Cousins, in line for another free agent paid day
this offseason, may have to sign another prove it deal
coming off of this injury. Though. In the NFL, Chiefs
(00:24):
offensive coordinator Eric b Enemy insisted that Damian Williams will
be the team starting running back. Dadian Williams is our starter.
B Enemy said, matter of factly, we expected to excel
in that role. End in Major League Baseball, get ready

Off next on that cipher on the microphone. You know
that I'm one of the best yet Martinez, do you
(03:41):
know what it is? It's your point, Da Martinez a
k A Speeds a k A to Spitting Statistician a
k A. The stable Genius and vocal Minority. And welcome
to another edition of the Fantasy Freestyle right here on
the award winning Fantasy Sports Network, the convening of the
Status Overbeat Cipher. Episode I don't know, Danny, what are
we talking Episode three hundred and eighty one. I do
(04:04):
believe with the Status of Beat Cipher, we've got a
good show for you tonight. Here's what we're gonna do. Okay,
we got only about an hour until the home run
derby gets cooking, you know, part of All Star Weekend.
I'll tell you some of my leans. Listen, just because
there's no Major League Baseball doesn't mean that we can't
win a little bit of extra cache today. So that's
what we're gonna do. I'm gonna tell you how I
think you should bet the home run Derby will even
(04:25):
talk about the All Star Game tomorrow. Ways to do
that as well. Then the division by division previews continue.
We will get into the NFC West today. I'll give
you diamonds. I'll give you fo gazzies, I'll give you
scheduling nuggets. I'll give you everything you need for fantasy
football to make it happen in the NFC West. And
then of course we'll put the fun and functional sports
(04:45):
content with the status over beat Cipher us see the
home Girl Jilly Dilley is already there. We will recap
my week away because I know some of the stats
over Beat Cipher. We're getting at me on social media.
Everybody from Jilly Dilley to Strong Style over there giving
me some recommendations and tips. Will catch up with that.
I did say Kauai would go to the Clippers. Jilly Dilley,
we'll talk about that, and I got big news for
everybody as it relates to the fantasy freestyle. Uh. So
(05:09):
you know there'll be plenty more time for you guys
to get after the spitting statistician. We've got the phone
lines open. It's like football scheduling. Alright, we're moving on
over and we're very excited about that. I'm so excited,
to be quite honest, many of you guys may know
about this. There is a big time fantasy like half expert,
half family called Scottie Fish and this is the ninth
season scott Fish nine. You may know about this. We
(05:30):
talk about this all the time. Well, this league started today. Alright,
the draft board open today. I have already made two
picks in this draft. Will recap what happened in those picks.
I'm liking where I am. But then again, obviously you're
gonna like your first and second pick. And the fun
part is I may be making a pick on the
show right now. Alright, it's one of these email drafts,
(05:51):
and there's one guy ahead of me that needs to
make a pick, and then I will be on the clock.
If that happens in this hour, I will talk you
through my third round pick in Scottie Fish nine. We
also got a poll question up as usual because of
All Star, you know, All Star weekend home Run Derby tonight.
My question is, uh, we're gonna give you some different
(06:11):
events that if I was commissioner or if you're real
deal stats over beat cipher, you know about some of these,
and you know, I get geeked up for this, even
like the dodgeball in the Pro Bowl, that sort of stuff. Um,
I'm gonna tell you some events that I would add
that I think would be bring some people, you know,
some eyes to the set, that sort of thing. And
so which of these events do you think they should
actually add? Would you rather see guys run at first,
the third, who's the fastest, the best arm in the outfield?
(06:34):
You know, I'm reminded of like it was endorsed by
Fred McGriff. Was that Flipamanski or whatever? You gotta get
that crow hop into the garbage can that sort of thing.
Is it? Picture like in the NHL? Was he shooters
like accuracy on targets? What about pictures doing that a
straight velocity or what about hitters trying to beat the
shift hitting different targets, trying to beat the shift, something
like that. We'll talk about those, but the poll question
(06:54):
is up as usual at spitting speeds. You can check
it out at F and T s Y Radio at
F and T s Y. It's that if you want
to have your voice heard. Um. As we mentioned, also
going into football season, the phone lines will be more open.
I'm starting to get more questions on my Twitter timeline
about Dynasty's about mock drafts that are happening. I'm gonna
be doing some stuff some mock drafts going on this week.
We are in drafts right now, so I understand that
(07:17):
if you want to get at this bitten statistician, the
number to call is eight four four eight four three
six eight seven nine. We got the chatting room and
the YouTube open as well. We got Crayton Treyhan already
asking me questions. He says he is the commissioner of
a multi sport league and if you of the guys
want to do a fab pool on the Home Run Derby,
thoughts on betting fab in a fantasy league, I will
(07:38):
answer that before Home Run Derby kicks off in about
an hour. If you want to get it in and
chop it up with the status over beat cipher, We're
gonna break down the Home Run Derby. We're gonna break
down the All Star Game. I will give my platform
of Speeds as Commissioner. Then we're gonna get into the
NFC West. There's a lot of interesting things. And Jilly Dilley,
who's already there, she's taking notes. Julie, you're gonna have
(08:01):
to make notes. I'm taking a hot stand right now
that I don't think many people will have in the
NFC E West. I need you to write it down
so that when it comes true later on this season,
you could be like you were right Speeds. Just like
in the chat room you said you said Kauai would
go to the Clippers. She's my running narrative saying, you know,
that's what we do here, help you win your leagues
(08:21):
and win that cash. Come on back, whether it's on YouTube,
whether it's on I Heart, whether it's on you know,
tune in radio, whether it's on the Fantasy Sports Radio
Network app. The Stats over Beat Cipher was off last week.
We're convening and we're gonna put the fun and functional
sports content as always. Woman man Danie Otto down there
in the pit of misery with the Stats over Beats Cipher.
Come on back after the break. We'll talk home run derby,
(08:43):
how to win a little bit extra cash in the
Fantasy Freestyle with the Spitting Statistician. Come on back. Hey,
thanks for downloading the podcast, and remember, if you want
to listen live, download the IH radio app, download the
tune and app and just search for Fantasy Sports Radio
(09:05):
Network and you could listen to this program live. Also,
if you want to watch the video of this podcast,
check us out on YouTube, on twitch, or on Periscope
and type in you guess did Fantasy Sports Network. You'll
find us there. Enjoy the show and thanks for listening, Goliday.
(09:34):
It would be so nice. Welcome back Fantasy Freestyle here
on a Fantasy Sports network. It's your boy, Dame Martinez
and spending Statistician. It's interesting we are starting kind of
if you haven't noticed already, we are starting kind of
like our official trend, uh, you know, moving over to
football season, some different programming, joining with Sports Radar Crew
of course Sports Grade, you know, making it happen. And
(09:56):
I noticed that there's some new listeners right already. I
got in the chat room, Kevin Ross, big shout out
to you, being like, this guy's having a corona. What
do you know about that? Really, dilly, everybody who always
watches you're gonna see eventually, Kevin. If I don't have
a corona with me, sometimes people will get after me
in uh in the chat room, all right. So that's
how we get it down here with the Stats over
Beat Cipher. We got some people coming back. As always.
(10:18):
I want to answer a question real quick, uh, Clayton Treyhand,
big friend of the show, Dilly Dilly to Clayton, asking
about um betting fat budget from your fantasy league in
a different thing like betting that while watching a home
run derby. That's interesting. I'm gonna tell you right now, though, Clayton.
The only way I would allow that is if everyone
in the league has an opportunity to do that. I've
(10:38):
seen that before where you do some side hustle, but
you know, not everybody in the league has access. As
long as they're equal opportunity, basically everybody getting in on it,
then it's all good, all right for me. Uh. That's
how I would, you know, respond to that. When we
got big things going over here though, Like I said,
moving over to football season, and I gotta tell you
for the real deal, Stats over Beat Cipher. I was
(10:59):
on vacation last week. I told people that when I
was back, we were gonna get it in and it
is official. We're gonna start going twice a week, all right.
We're gonna start going twice a week starting this week.
We're gonna do Mondays and we're gonna do Thursdays, all right.
And if you've been with me for the last few years,
with three hundred and eighty episodes in already two time nominee,
you know about that. So what we're gonna do on
(11:21):
Mondays heading into the football season, we'll always look back
what we got right, what we got wrong. We'll talk
waivers of course for fantasy, we'll preview Monday Night Football
for the betting world, right, and then on Thursdays, what
we'll do a lot is that that DFS going into
the week, we'll do a lot of calls, a lot
of trade stuff. We'll do our Game of Inches as always,
and we'll have a good time leading into both Monday
and Night Football and Thursday Night Football where we're gonna
(11:44):
be starting another piece of content at night. We're gonna
be starting a show called in Game Live for the
real sports investors out there as well. We're gonna be
following all the live betting action. I'm gonna have a
hand in that too of a man sports rage, Gabe
more and see getting into it going into Monday night
and Thursday night football. But a night, let's get into
the home run derby. Okay, and here's what I'm seeing
as the morning line. All right, Yeah, Josh Bell at
(12:06):
plus three is the favorite, then Vladdy Jr. Pete Alonso
at plus four, Matt Chapman at five and a half
to one, Jack Peterson at six, Orcuna at seven, Bregman
at eight, Santan at nine. There's been a little bit
of movement depending on your book, since the beginning of
the day. All right. Now, first of all, if I'm
gonna give you leans and takes on the home run Derby,
(12:27):
we know we're talking about a special kind of degenerate,
all right, So let's let's all take this with a
grain of salt. It's like preseason NFL football DFS, al right,
and let's all acknowledge that. Let's look ourselves in the
mirror and understand what we're doing here when in the
home run Derby. But I do have a couple of
takes for you. One is that the odds on favorite
very rarely actually comes through and wins. All right. And
(12:48):
I don't know why Josh Bell is necessarily the favorite
among these names anyway, But I don't know that I'm
riding him. Okay. I look at the other side of
this bracket where you see people like Vlad Jr. Where
you see Maddie Chapman, who, by the way, is in
for yellow, and he's gonna bring his dad to pitch,
which is it's a nice thing, right. We've seen that
over the course of the last few years. I think
it started with Robbie could know a few years ago.
(13:08):
We saw Bryce Harper do it just last year. Nice moment.
Maybe Chapman will get that moment with his dad. We
like that, Okay, for guys like Vlad Jr. For guys
like Pete Alonso, who I know a lot of people
are on I think my man Gabe Moranse is on him,
who you heard earlier today. These younger guys, these rookies,
these guys that are gonna be geeked up and a
(13:28):
little bit nervous. Here's what I think about them. I
think that they may win their first round matchup. They
may even put up a big number. Okay, you may
see Alonso or Vlad Jr. In the first round put
up like a thirteen or whatever. It's a relatively big number.
I worry about their staying power. As you know, the
format has changed over the last couple of years. It's
(13:48):
now a timed event, which I think is cool. Add
some intrigue and all that. But I think these guys
get tired out pretty quickly. I really do. It's gonna
be hot whatever it is, I think these guys get
tired out. It's kind of like the three point shooting
contest in the NBA. All right. So because of that,
I'm not leaning on the favorite. I'm not leaning on
these rookies. I like experience in this. I like guys
(14:09):
that have done it before. And of these, of of
these eight entries, I see two that have done it before.
One was Alex Bregman coming back, tried it last year,
got banged out in the first round, I believe, and
the other is Jack Peterson. Jack Peterson has done this before.
Jack Peterson has a swing perfect for this kind of event. Okay,
And these guys are at lower prices. Okay. I can
(14:30):
get Peterson at plus six hundred, I can get Bregman
at plus eight hundred. Now I understand these guys are
facing each other in the first round. So you might
be like, hey, Speed, you're gonna lose one of your
picks right away. I'm also gonna guarantee that one of
them is in the semis, right, you know, I'm gonna
lean towards experience guys that are not uh, you know,
getting gassed out. You see whether it's three point shooting contests.
(14:51):
You see it in Damn American Ninja Warrior, for God's sakes, Okay,
And that's what I think is the problem with some
of these young bucks that haven't done it before. Throw
Kuna in the mix for that as well. Okay, So
that's where I'm gonna go, and you can get matchups. Listen,
give me the underdog, give me the plus number as
most betting right, but those are my picks right there.
Give me Alex Bregman or Jack Peterson at plus eight
(15:13):
hundred and plus six hundred respectively, as real deal stats
over beats Siphons for knows. You can thank me later on.
That's what we do. Help you in their cage real
quick for the All Star Game, because I'm not gonna
talk to you guys until Thursday. We got the als
A slight favorite their minus one twenty. I think the
analyst minus one oh five, minus one ten, So the
ale is a favorite. It's the same kind of thing.
(15:34):
You know. One of the narratives I've been talking about
all season long is this idea of the strikeout rates,
the home runs, the three true outcomes, right, and that
I want to see that we're just taking the overs
all the time. But the reason we've been taking the
overs is because of the rough underbelly, right, and the
second time through the lineup these guys get that doesn't
happen in the All Star Game. And then in the
All Star Game, what they're gonna do is bring in
(15:55):
Chris Sale, you know what I mean for one at bat,
for an overpowering pitcher who probably has a great strikeout rate.
There is no soft underbelly in the sixth and seventh inning.
That's when they're bringing in the beginning of the of
the closers. Okay, that's when you're gonna get you know,
like Kenley Jansen coming in. Okay. So because of that,
and because of the propensity of all these people who
(16:16):
put up these stats that are gonna be All Stars,
I think I kind of like the under I think
most of the runs will be scored via the home run.
That happened last year as well. All right, most of
the home runs in this game. I think last year
was like a five four game, or like ten runs
were scored and all of them were scored via the
home run. I think the vast majority of games will
(16:37):
be scored via the home run in tomorrow's game. But
I actually think the under is a decent play because
everyone's on these home runs, but not with the best pitching.
We are going to see if great pitching does in
fact beat great hitting. But that's what I would say.
Give me um oh, Clayton says, thanks to me, that's
what's up. Um give me Bregman, give me Peterson, give
(16:59):
me under in tomorrow's game. But I was talking about
the pole question real quick before we have to throw
it to break. We got a new little timing schedule
going on here as well with Fantasy freestuff. But one
of the things that I was saying is I would
like to see these other events added. So check the
pole question right now. I think if we lined up
you know, your Jared Dyson to Billy Hamilton's your trade
turners and see who was the fastest time I going
(17:21):
first to third. That would be something I would watch.
This Home on Derby has appeal. Why not add events
to it, make it a big Saturday night or Sunday night,
just like they do, you know in in the NBA.
Make it a bigger affair. I would also like to
see put all the best outfield arms from back in
the day, the role Mom, the sees, the Jeff Frank cores,
the eat rolls, put all the best arms in right
field and make them holes down. Someone thrown home or
(17:42):
throwing a third. I would love to see that. I
would watch that. Okay, what about pictures you know, having
to hit targets or with curveballs, even with breaking stuff
or just on the gun, you know, like a roll,
this Chapman firing it, you know it, you know Steven
Straulsburg or whoever it would be, who does throw the
hardest ball, who does have the best control with their pitches,
(18:03):
whether it be fastballs or whether it be you know
uncle Charlie right. I think that would be interesting to see.
And the last would be, like Clayton says, beating the shift,
put different targets, have them go ap, Oh, have them
go flyball, have them hit it on the ground, have
them go down the line. I would want to see
them put on a batting practice display like we see
who can actually control where they put it? That is
(18:24):
a big topic in Major League Baseball with the shift
right now, I would like to see these all stars
being able to put it exactly where they want. The
pole question is up. What would you like to see
as an addition to the home run derby. We'll see
what you say on Twitter. We'll see what you say
in the chat room. When we come back. We switch
gears to fantasy football. That's what we do here on
the Fantasy Freestyle with stats over beat Cipher, We're gonna
(18:45):
get into the NFC West everything you need, diamonds and gazes,
who to forget about, schedule, Nuggets, win lost, totals, playoff bets,
all at him more with the fitting statistician. Come on

bet dot com. All right, and by the way, before
we get into fantasy football, here on the Fantasy Freestyle,
it has happened, Guys, the people, the person before me,
which is you know, friend of the show, actually Andy Singleton.
He has made his third round pick. He just picked
Marlon Mack. Okay, So I am on the clock in
scott Fish nine. Real deal Fantasy football. Guys and gals
(20:52):
know about this league. Okay. It's about six hundred fans,
about six hundred experts. Okay. I am in the Bo
Jackson Division. I am on the clock right now. So
here's we're gonna do. I'm gonna talk NFC West for
Fantasy football, and then I'm gonna see I think listen,
and then I'll tell you about my my roster, my
first and second picks, and I am on the clock.
(21:13):
I'll tell you where I go. I will make my
official Scottie Fish third round pick on air. A little
bit later on in the show. The guy I wanted
is still there. People's pen drafted Marlon Mack in his
third round right before me. But I digress. All right,
here's where we're gonna go. We're talking an f C West.
(21:34):
We have been doing this, uh you know, division by division.
This is where I give you what you need to know. Okay.
This is where I gave you the Philadelphia Eagles to win,
to win the Super Bowl in August. Okay, at something
like one right. This is where I give you winners.
This is where I give you diamonds on fool gazes.
And if you're new to the show, the foul gas
is someone you need to forget about. So let's get
(21:56):
into it. NFC West, Jilly Dilley, I told you I
had some stances that we're going to take. Let's start
with that right at the top. Honestly, I'm off the
Los Angeles Rams this year, people, I am off the
Los Angeles Rams. I believe the Super Bowl hangover is real.
I believe a lot of things went well for them
and boil boy. Do I not believe or trust in
this Todd Burley stuff right now? All right, here's my deal. Okay,
(22:19):
he is my fugazi for the Los Angeles Rams, and
you have to understand also, if you're new to the show,
Fugaz could be relatively speaking, right, is Todd Gurley is
still an incredible running back? Yes? Will I have shares
of Todd Gurley this year? Probably not, because he is
still going right now as running back ten. Okay, he's
going as running back ten. And I want a better
(22:40):
floor with my RB one, honestly, Okay, he is no
longer a workhorse, he is no longer a bell cow
because of this ar thright is condition. He's still great.
He still may get a lot of production per touch.
But I want from my RB one. I want someone
who is locked and loaded, is not gonna be splitting time,
is not gonna be part of any committee. And what
(23:00):
we saw down the stretch last year, what we saw
in the playoffs last ye year, what we've heard medically
speaking so far in this offseason would indicate that you know,
I don't know that he is the guy you want
as you're locked and loaded RB one, that you're gonna
have relying on week to week to come through and
be your stud. If he falls to you, and he
could be your r B two, sure sign me up.
(23:22):
But I need a safer floor in that spot. I
prefer Joe Mixon in that spot. I prefer Melvin Gordon
in that spot. Hell, I'll prefer Dalvin Cook in that spot, okay,
over Todd Gurley. He just won't be on my team
as an RB one, okay, And that's why he's my
Los Angeles rams foo crazy. Forget about it. I am, however,
on Darryl Henderson. Okay, I am on the Darrell Henderson train.
(23:45):
I have been telling you this ever since I did
my rookie previews before the NFL Draft. I said this
was the running back that I would be on. This
guy average eight point eight eight yards to carry, followed
by eight point nine two yards to carry in college,
all be it in a second kind of division at Memphis.
But I saw this with my own eyes in a
bowl game. I saw it in a conference title game.
(24:07):
This guy on tape, he passes the eye test. It
was all about what kind of situation he would land in.
And now you're telling me he's gonna be the backup
to Todd Gurley in this Todd McVeigh system. I'm all in.
I like this. I think he may have standalone handcuff value.
And we don't know about Todd Gurley. All right, at
the very least, I can see Haddon Henderson being kind
(24:29):
of like a PPR change of pace guy that actually
works in PPR leagues. All right, So that's where I
am on the Rams. What I will also say, you
always have a relative food gate, a relative diamond with
the Rams when you take whoever you think is their
third wide receiver the right the Rams wide receivers embody
the fantasy herd. And if you're new to the show,
(24:51):
this is a concept where you never know on any
given day, will it be Robert Woods who pops off?
Will it be Cooper Cup who pops off? Will it
be Brandon Cooks who pops off? And because of that,
which everyone is going third a DP in your draft,
that's the value because all three of them are gonna
finish with the kind of the same, kind of the
same stats. In my opinion, I believe they are all
(25:12):
and this is crazy, I believe they're all wide receiver
Two's right now, Brandon Cooks is going out wide receiver fifteen.
What what's his wide receiver sixteen? Cup is wide receiver twenty.
Give me Cooper Cup as a value? He could you
tell me? He can't put up better numbers than Cooks
or would on any given day, on any given month,
for the entire season. That's why he is another diamond
(25:36):
because of the fantasy herd that is the Los Angeles
Rams wide receiving corps. Okay, but honestly, that arthritis is
not getting any better, and that is a big thing
to me. Add that, they you know, got lucky in
a few games. Remember they beat the Chiefs fifty four
to fifty one last year. Okay, they got a couple
of other very tight games. I think their defense regresses
(25:59):
a little little bit. They've lost you know, no and
Dominican su there anymore. They lost some of their secondary
as well. Okay, I think the big regression is Todd Gurley.
I actually am on the under for the Los Angeles Rams.
We'll talk about it a little bit later. On their
wind total is ten and a half. Not only am
I on the under on their ten and a half
(26:20):
wind total, I am going to tell you right now,
I would not be surprised if those Los Angeles Rams
wind up not making the playoffs because of that Super
Bowl hangover. Okay, I would not be surprised at that.
They also remember that we'll be playing a first place schedule. Okay,
we'll talk about that a little bit later. On their
schedule is no good. They also lose a home game
(26:42):
because they wind up playing in London. Okay. In the
NFC US my, you know, if you want to talk
about hot takes, oh, I don't think the Rams qualified
for the playoffs. I've been telling you, you know, in
previous divisions that I was on teams like the Atlanta Falcons.
I told you it was on the Green Bay Packers. Well,
those are two teams that didn't make the playoffs last year.
So if I'm gonna put those in, I gotta take
teams out, and I'm gonna take a stand it's gonna
(27:02):
be the Los Angeles Rams. Okay, let's go to the
next team in that division. As as far as like
wind total divisions, things of that nature, and that's the
Seattle Seahawks. Let me give you a diamond in the
rough for the Seattle Seahawks. Someone who was still on
the board and Scotty Fish who I may look at,
and that's Rashad Penny. Listen, I like Rashad Penny. Rashad
Penny was the Seahawks liked him enough to be their
(27:24):
first round pick last year. Okay, he remember got hurt
early in camp. I think it was a thumb. They
said he was a little out of shape. He's talked
about they're in better conditioning this year year. Second year jump.
I like for for a lot of players with Shot
Penny included. If you want to know the truth, I
they they he had a fumbling problem. I think that
gets corrected a little bit. I think he's a definite
(27:46):
good bet to win proof. He only was on seven
teen percent of the Seattle Seattle Seahawks snaps last year.
On those though, he showed flashes four point nine yards
to carry six point three yards to target. I think
he is going to be much more heavily and al
And while Chris Carson had a good year last year,
do you really believe that all of a sudden he's
the guy? He will be the starter? But I think
(28:07):
we Shot Penny is a nice little diamond in the
rough there on the flip side for the Seattle Seahawks.
My food crazy. The guy you need to forget about
is DK metcalf. A lot of people were talking about
this after the draft, this rookie. Everybody loved this rookie
out of Old miss As. You know, if you're a
real deal stats over beat Cipher, you know that. I
(28:28):
believe it takes a long time for rookie receivers. They
don't usually pop off. Francisco G by the way, and
the chat was talking about Cup in the ninth round
in a twelve team PPR. Absolutely absolutely, I would be
very I'd be happy about that. Tab snap him up
right now, Francisco, and we'll be talking about who I
snap up in my third round pick. You're not gonna
(28:49):
believe this guy's I think I'm I'm looking at where
I need to go, I'm looking at who's available. You're
not gonna believe the pick I'm getting in the third round. People,
I'm getting a top twelve player in the third round
right now with my pick. We'll talk about that in
a little while, but it will it'll be it's gonna
be a receiver, I'll tell you that. And it's not
gonna be DK Metcalf because I don't think he's going
I think he's gonna help the Seahawks more than he
(29:10):
helps your fantasy team. One of those prototypical guys that
help the real team more than the fantasy team. He
kind of locked polish coming out. Remember in and out
of routes. He's just a physical specimen. He'll stretch the field.
Is good that Russell Wilson throws the deep ball, right,
but I think he'll be better as a deep threat.
I think he'll be better to open up lanes for
the running game. Remember this is a running team as well.
(29:33):
The Seattle Seahawks run the ball more than almost any
team in the NFL. And I think you know Tyler Lockett.
I think they like the kid David Moore, who's also there.
I don't know if there's enough targets to go around.
I know there's a lot of buzz on dk Metcalf,
but for me, he is a food gazy, someone to
forget about. We're gonna go to break in a hot second.
We got about a minute. What we're gonna do then
(29:54):
is diamonds and fool gazes for the San Francisco forty Niners,
diamonds and fool gazes for the Arizona Cardinals. And I
will tell you about my Scottie Fish pick that I'm
about to make. I am on the clock right now
in the third round at three dot oh nine, there
is a player staring at me in the face that
I am going to do when he's the rules, it's
a little different. I've already got a running back. I've
(30:16):
already got a tight end. Okay, yes, I drafted a
tight end because there's some kind of crazy bonuses for
catches and first downs. We'll get into that on the
flip side of this break as well. I'm about to
pick a wide receiver who, by the way, has been
known as the best wide receiver in the entire NFL.
He's staring at me at three point oh nine. I
can't believe it. Call it a diamond for me. When
(30:39):
we come back on the other side of the break,
I'll tell you who it is. I will make my
selection over the break and we'll get into it with
the Niners and the Cardinals. And then what we'll do
is put the fun and functional sports content with the
status over beat cipher a man Danny Otto down there.
We'll recap my vacation a little red red wine, and
we'll talk about you know, this equal pay stuff. It's
(30:59):
even us in that Phis soccer players. We'll get into
that as we put the fun and functional sports content
and more dimes and full gazes from the NFC West
Fantasy Football with the Fantasy Freestyle. Come on back after

(31:58):
Welcome back Fantasy Freestyle Episode three hundred and eighty one
with the status over beat Sypher. I'm the boy to
spitting statisticians Speeds the vocal minority for the Fantasy Sports Network.
I told you coming into the break that I was
gonna make a pick for everybody out there. First of all,
I will admit that the settings are skewed a little bit.
(32:19):
More quarterbacks go, a little bit, more tight ends go.
But late in the third round, in the ninth pick
of the third round. Okay, so by the way, I
draft Zach Ertz in the first round at ninth overall.
Kelsey went seven overall Kittle went eight overall, so I
took arth because of an extra bonus for receptions and
first downs on the way back at two dot oh four,
(32:41):
I guess that is I had James Conner as a
running back staring at me was the was the last
one kind of in a tier for me. Other guys
like Joe Mixon had already betten Akin, who I would
have taken ahead of Connor. And then coming back at
three dot oh nine, Okay, late in the third round,
I just drafted Antonio Brown. I just drafted Antonio Brown
(33:01):
at three dot nine. I looked at the other divisions
here of Scottie Fish uh Scottie Fish nine, and you know,
Antonio Brown went uh in the second pick of the
third round in one division. I'm checking another division. He
went in the fourth pick of the third round, another
one in the fourth pick of the third round, one
in the eleventh pick of the second round. And I
(33:24):
just got him in the ninth pick of the third round.
So I feel good about that so far with the
Scotty Fish settings, I got zach Ertz, I got James Conner,
I got Antonio Brown. They're gonna come back to me.
It'll probably stop for the nighttime before I pick again.
I may have to go wide out again. There's some
interesting options out there that I still like, like a
Keenan Allen, like a Stephen can you digs it? And others.
(33:48):
We'll see if that gets back to me. Uh well,
chitty chat about it a little bit more on Thursday's edition.
But we were doing diamonds were on the NFC West.
All right, I'll give you the scheduling stuff. I'll give
you some of the wind totals and some of the
division on our late week edition of Fantasy Freestyle. Remember
we're going two times a week now Mondays and Thursdays
for the football schedule. But let's keep it going here
(34:09):
as we put the fun and functional sports content to
San Francisco forty Niners. Al Right, my diamond in the
rough right now, let me tell you something. This is
a guy who was wide receiver eight between in like
the Fantasy Playoffs in weeks twelve through fifteen. I'm talking
about Dante Pettis. Okay, I expect a little bit of
a jump from him. I know Goodwin is there. I
know they drafted Debo and others, but I like Dante
(34:31):
Pettis also he's a guy who can stretch the field.
His yards for catch with seventeen point three last year,
I think he will outperform his a DP. I think
he has a viable wide receiver four in some deeper leagues,
and he's going a lot later than that. I like
Dante Pettis as a diamond in the rough. I gotta
tell you also, my food gas for the forty niners
(34:52):
is George Kittle. I don't think he's like definitively with
Kelsey and Arts. I really don't. Okay, will he be
a good tight end? Yes? Was he a diamond for
me last year? Yes, But now the hype has gone
a little bit too far from me. Okay, he's gonna regress.
Last year he called eighty eight balls. Last year he
said an NFL record for tight ends with hundred and
(35:15):
seventies seven yards. There's no way he does that again.
Wide receivers were out last year, more options this year.
Even in the run game. You got Tevin Coleman. Now
you've got Jerk McKinnon coming back. And another thing. And
I said this on Freestyle. Last year he was the
apple of c J. B Hard's I c J. Bethard
for those of you who don't know why. Because they
(35:36):
both went to Iowa, he was a familiar target. I
think there is regression. Might he still be a top
eight tight end? Yes? Is he top three? Not? For me?
I would prefer O. J. Howard this year to George Kittle. Okay,
there's other options that other tiers where I think he belongs.
So he's gonna be overdrafted. I will not have shares
of him. And I mentioned the committee. Listen, if you
(35:58):
want to take a stab, get the run right, whether
it's Tevin Coleman, whether it's Jack McKinnon, whether it's Matt Brida.
I think Kevin will Tevin Coleman will be the early
down guy, will get most of the carries, most of
the touches. I think McKinnon has value in PPR leagues
as a flex play. I think he will lead the
team of the running backs in UH targets and catches.
(36:19):
And if you're in a PPR format, Jared McKinnon, remember
they paid him money, all right, they're gonna use him
and Brita Listen. I think he'd be the handcuffed with
either one of those guys go down, all right, But
for me, Kittle is the big fool gaze, I like
Dante Pettis for the San Francisco forty nine. Is the
last team in this division is the Arizona Cardinals. A
lot of talk about the Cardinals. Will the Cliff Kingsbury
(36:40):
system translate from college? Will Kyler Murray and his five
eight five nine frame translate from college? I think Kyler
Murray will be fine. I'm not worried about the injury risk.
I'm not worried about him seeing over the old line
anything like that. I'm worried about how good the old
line is and if Kyla Murray will be running for
his life that notwithstanding, my diamond for the hour Zona
Cardinals is Christian Kirk. Again. I am trusting a second
(37:04):
year jump. I had a full gaze of a rookie receiver.
I like the second year jump for pass catchers tight ends.
Why that's I like Christian Kirk. He was a good
player before he got banged up and left. I believe
he broke his leg last year. All right, I believe
this is the year where it's time. My fool gazzy
will be Larry Fitzgerald. I think that is just name recognition.
He was still doing a hundred catches a thousand yards.
(37:26):
Not last year, though he dropped to sixty nine catches
seven hundred thirty four yards. There were more options in
the passing game. They're gonna spread it around. Remember they
drafted rookies, uh Andy Isabella. They drafted a rookie Um.
The other rookie was Hakim Butler. Okay, I think it's
Christian Kirk. And by the way, Christian Kirk and Kyler
(37:50):
Murray were actually teammates before at Texas A and M
before Kyler Murray transferred, so they have some familiarity and
I think that's important to Christian Kirk. Right now, now
Adp is going as wide receiver thirty five, I think
you can do better than that. I think Um he
will outperform that ad Adp. I think he is a
viable wide receiver three at least with some upside depending
(38:10):
on that system. My you know, David Johnson is a
viable first round running back. He's in that first tier.
He belongs there. But for Fitzy, I do think it's
time don't get fooled by the name recognition. There's a
lot of younger guys on the upswing that you could
do better than Larry Fitzgerald. All right, So there you
have it, some NFC West stuff. When we come back
on Thursday, we'll go back into the NFC West. We'll
talk season win totals, We'll talk some schedule nuggets. Okay,
(38:33):
I think the schedule supports my prediction of a different
champion in the NFC West. Okay, I'll tell you all
the reasons I'm down on the Rams schedule. I like
some other team, I like their schedule to finish off
the season. We'll talk about that. Where I'm putting my
shekels in the NFC West on the Thursday edition of
The Fantasy Freestyle with the status over Beat Cipher. But
let's bring in my man Dannie Otto right now. If
(38:55):
you are new to the show, we got Jert who's
certainly not new. Clayton Trey hand friends is go ge yep.
A lot of people talking about that upside with Francisco
g talking about the upside with Cup in the ninth round.
Definitely we like that. And uh, you know, Girly, if
you can get him in the second, that's that's much
better than in the first. Right now, But Danny, are
you with me? Brother man? As always, I appreciate it,
(39:19):
my friend. I appreciated my friend. Here's what I want
to talk to you about. First of all. First of all,
I want to tell you I want to say shout
out to everybody in the stats over beat cipher. Okay.
I heard from Jilly Dilly overbreak, over vacation. I heard
from Strong Style over vacation. People giving me, um, you know,
tip tips and tricks when I was in the San
Diego area, showing me love when I was in Jamaica.
(39:42):
So I appreciate all of that. All right, um, but
do you have the first tweet the picture of when
I was in the baseball game, because I want to
share this. I was at a Padres Giants game and
you gotta see. You know, they put up random nuggets
for people on the scoreboard when they are up at bat.
Check this one out for for then, oh Tatis. They
put it up and I hollered at the best Friends
(40:03):
Forever on this fun fact about him. He's good at baseball.
What do you think about that? One? Danny? Creative? Fair
are foul? What if you're not good at baseball? I
think that was really cool. What do you think about that?
It's pretty good? I do too. I think it was
pretty good. I thought it was a nice little fun
fact that he is good at baseball. So we can
take that one to the bank, okay. Uh And I
(40:25):
thought that showing the uh the balls to say that
he was good at a baseball as a fun fact,
I thought that was good. Listen, I was in Jamaica.
It was great over the World Cup, Danny. Soccer is
truly a world sport, brother man. You know, like I'm
I'm down there. Jamaican's loving it. The rest of the
Caribbean folks are loving it. The Europeans. There was a
lot of Germans that I talked to, people from the Netherlands.
Everyone was betting on soccer. So it was good for that.
(40:47):
It's good to see the world game. But spoke about betting.
I was also you know, family and friends over the
Fourth of July, Danny. And you know, a guy like me,
what do you think what is like the American parts
of the fourth of July, Danny? You mean like components
to the Yeah, what were you doing celebrating? I mean
I was at a barbecue, barbecuing. Definitely love that drink, drinking,
(41:11):
Definitely fireworks, Definitely. I'm adding somethinging new to a Fourth
of July tradition. We had the kids out back in
the yard, right, and one of the kids had like
one of these like motorized kind of like scooters or
like trust kind of thing. So we built like a
little obstacle course for the kids to go around. They
had to like you know, slow them around these like
(41:31):
obstacles and cones and stuff. All right, and then say word,
all the parents kept on coming out there and cheered
them on. We started betting on the kids, Danny. We
started betting on the kids. I'm not joking, okay, I
was betting on the kids like over run there's We
were betting on one girl versus another one girls like
three to one, and we were sitting like because they
were all coming in and around the same times. Okay,
And then we had to put it like a penalty
(41:52):
if they hit one of the obstacles. You know, we
were setting over unders on this course. And let me
find out, like money was exchanged. What is more American, Danny,
then betting on kids in the backyard. Uh, you know
on fourth of July, real money changing hands. That's what
we do. Help people win that cash. What do you
think I mean, I I don't disagree. I think this
is where the generations are are a little bit separate.
(42:14):
Like there was no kids at my birth kid, all right,
so there was definitely some kids, some pieces and nephews,
some kids, you know. Uh. And I was making it
happen and you know, like m c in the whole event,
and so of course that was betting involved. You know,
it was dope. Though I don't disagree with it. It It
sounds like a good time. It was a lot of fun.
It was a lot of fun. And then you know,
one other thing I did, big shout out out there
is I played around the golf Danny on in on
(42:37):
the San Diego there's like a big naval base. Okay,
I played around the golf on the naval base. You
had to be like retired military, which I had, you know,
my crew with me to get onto the base. To
get onto this golf course. It was wild literally overlooking
the ocean. But check this out one. You know, sometimes
there's hazards right on a golf course. And it was
like sand traps or lakes or whatever on one of
(42:58):
these holes. I kid you not, Danny. There was a
the naval basis, like the naval air station. Okay, so
it's like all the naval jets and stuff that are
going on to these aircraft carriers and stuff. There was
a runway, bro and of course that's where I sliced
my damn t shot and instead of hitting like a
cart path or anything, it hits this damn literally restricted
naval runway and bounces on to the other side of
(43:18):
the damn field. Okay, So what do I do, Danny?
Do I go get the ball to check this? I'll
look it up, Danny. There was a C one thirty,
this thing like Harry's airplanes and tanks that was like
getting ready to take off, okay, And I was like,
what do I do? Do I go over there and
get my ball? What would you have done? Danny? There
was a C one thirty getting ready to take off.
What would you have done? I'm dead serious? Um, I
(43:39):
left the ball. I left the ball there. I was like,
I'm not going to trespass on like the governmental stuff
and uh, you know, get banged up there. There's there's
two schools of thought for me. At least if I'm
not thinking I'm running after the ball. If if I
am thinking that, it was very clear I was on
a naval base. Bro. There were like people in Cama
(44:00):
in the damn bushes just at times doing exercises. They
were literally like planes landing and nonsense. It was, it
was legit. It was the Naval Air Station Club North
Island off on Coronado where the Unicorns family is from.
Check it out, man, beautiful views and stuff. But I
left the ball out of bounds. I I went in
my bat and you got another one. Yeah. I probably
would have been nervous just around a bunch of people
(44:21):
like that. So that's what it is, you know, Danny,
I know, we only got like a minute left, real quick,
last check in on this pole right now. Forty six
percent of you or percent of you hopped up a
little bit, said the hitter. Beating the shifting would be
great to add to All Star weekend. The home run
Derby is in fact getting going in about ten minutes.
I am on Jack Peterson and Alex Bregman at six
(44:43):
to one and eight to one, respectively. Give me the
under in the All Star Game. Remember freestyle now twice
a week for the stats over beat cipher. You can
holler at me, you can answer the pole, you can
get into the chat room, but we will continue our
talk about the NFC West. We'll talk a lot about
the player movement in the nb A and we'll also,
I didn't get to it today, we'll talk about why
MLS and soccer. Listen, the women were talking about equal pay.
(45:06):
I think the MLS needs to do some things as
well as we get into the you know, stable genius
and vocal minority. Tip of all, we keep it so
fresh and so clean as Danny has us ride out
from the Pit of Misery Studio thirty four to your
ears and the status over beat cipher. I'm out twice
a week. Guys. I'm doing it for the cipher y'all
better hit me up on the phone lines because we
make it a pop. Fantasy Football is here and I
(45:28):
just got Antonio Brown late third round. You know how
we do winning leagues and winning cash pace from the

(46:11):
what we're gonna do. Okay, we got only about an
hour until the home run Derby gets cooking, you know,
part of All Star weekend. I'll tell you some of
my leans. Listen, just because there's no Major League Baseball
doesn't mean that we can't win a little bit of
extra cache today. So that's what we're gonna do. I'm
gonna tell you how I think you should bet the
home run Derby. Will even talk about the All Star
Game tomorrow ways to do that as well. Then the
(46:32):
division by division previews continue. We will get into the
NFC West today. I'll give you diamonds. I'll give you
fo gazzies, I'll give you scheduling nuggets. I'll give you
everything you need for fantasy football to make it happen
in the NFC West. And then of course we'll put
the fun and functional sports content with the stats over
beat cipher us. See the home Girl Jilly Dilley is
already there. We will recap my week away because I
(46:54):
know some of the steps over beat Cipher. We're getting
at me on social media. Everybody from Jilly Dilley to
Strong Style over there giving me some recommendations and tips.
Will catch up with that. I did say Kauai would
go to the Clippers. Jilly Dilley, we'll talk about that.
And I got big news for everybody as it relates
to the Fantasy Freestyle. Uh so you know there'll be
plenty more time for you guys to get after the
(47:15):
spitting statistician. We've got the phone lines open. It's like
football scheduling. Alright, we're moving on over and we're very
excited about that. I'm so excited, to be quite honest.
Many of you guys may know about this. There is
a big time fantasy like half Expert, half family called
Scotty Fish, and this is the ninth season scott Fish. Nine.
You may know about because we talk about this all
the time. Well, this league started today, all right, the
(47:38):
draft board open today. I have already made two picks.
This is where I give you diamonds and foul gazes.
And if you're new to the show, the fool Gays
is someone you need to figet about. So let's get
into it. Nfcus Jilly Dilley, I told you I had
some stances that we're gonna take. Let's start with that
right at the top. Honestly, I'm off the Los Angeles
Rams this year, people, I am off the Los Angeles Rams.
(48:00):
I believe the Super Bowl hangover is real. I believe
a lot of things went well for them, and boyle boy,
do I not believe or trust in this Todd Gurley
stuff right now? All right, here's my deal. Okay, he
is my fugaz for the Los Angeles Rams. And you
have to understand, also, if you're new to the show,
could be relatively speaking, Yes, Will I have shares of
(48:20):
Todd Gurley this year? Probably not, because he is still
going right now as running back ten. Okay, he's going
as running back ten. And I want a better floor
with my RB one, honestly, Okay. He is no longer
a workhorse, he is no longer a bell cow because
of this ar thriight ist concinion. He's still great. He
still may get a lot of production per touch, but
(48:43):
I want from my RB one. I want someone who
is locked and loaded, is not gonna be splitting time,
is not gonna be part of any committee. And what
we saw down the stretch last year, what we saw
in the playoffs last year, what we've heard medically speaking
so far in this offseason, would indicate that you know,
I don't know that he's the guy you want. As
you're locked and loaded RB one that you're gonna have
(49:04):
relying on week to
