Speaker 1 (00:00):
You are now about to witness the strength of fantasy
knowledge Fantasy Sports Radio Network. You are now tuned into
the Speeds and Spitting Statistician on Fantasy Freestyle. Off next
on that cipher on the microphone. You know that I'm

(00:20):
one of the best yet, Martinez, you know what it is.
It's your boy, Jane Martinez, a k A. Speeds a
k A to Spitting Statistician a k A. The Stable

(00:42):
Genius and vocal Minority. And welcome to another edition other
Fantasy Freestyle right here on the Sports Grid Network, episode
number four hundred and twenty nine, the four hundred and
twenty nine convening of the Status over Beat Cipher, where
we help you win your leagues and win that cat ash.
A lot of people have already won their leagues. A

(01:02):
lot of people have already won that cash. So we're
gonna do a lot of interesting things on today's show.
You know, the football season does go on and there
are still ways to make some money. So we're gonna
talk about it all right. We're gonna break down all
the injuries, all the things that happened, my biggest takeaways,
what we got right, what we got wrong. Like we
usually do this is also known as Black Monday. Okay,

(01:23):
so we will cover the current head coaching openings. We
project there to be a couple of more, and I'll
give you my take on what it is that makes
a good job, who these candidates might be, and we'll
look into the crystal ball of the merry go round
of the coaches. All right. I also we have solidified
a few things like, oh, I don't know next year's schedule.
I'll tell you what I like about that. That and

(01:44):
we already know a lot of things about that. We've
also solidified the top ten, the top sixteen of the
draft next year. Okay, so we'll talk a little bit
about that. We will also, if you are real deal
stats over beat site for the phone lines will be
open if you want to call in wish us a
happy holidays or you know, gloat for your championships as usual.

(02:06):
My man Henry Henderson already in the chat. And by
the way, your gift came over the weekend. I'm rocking
it right here. We make it rain. We make it
rain on these ho ho hoes, you know what it is.
Uh So thank you to Henry and Jennifer Henderson for that.
I see him in the chating room and listen. You
know how we always talk about different games and different
things that we like to do. We have Game of

(02:26):
Inches throughout the season. I think, Danny, we have to
declare a winner of Game of Inches, and I have
a couple of ideas for that, so we'll talk to that.
But we also listen as the playoffs, so it starts
a new game, Speeds versus the Kids. We'll talk about that, Danny.
I think it's like the fifth year we'll be doing
Speeds versus Kids. So we'll outline that for anybody who
wants to get down as well in the chat room.

(02:47):
Here's what we got to talk about in the poll
question that I have up at uh spitting speeds at
F and T s Y radio. Are the pets done? Um?
If you've been listening to me with a last oh,
I don't know a few months, I've been telling you
a few things. One that their road record even last
year was a problem, that their offense doesn't look right,

(03:09):
that they actually know it right, that they know it
and by the way, more of it happened on Sunday.
Two things. One another trick play they resorted to to
score a touchdown. This time it's the linebacker out of
the flat. Remember Julian Edelman and flee flickers. They resorted
to it again. Second of all, they stopped the Miami

(03:32):
Dolphins with about a minute and a half left in
the second quarter. What does Bill Belichick, Tom Brady and
the New England Patriots usually do. They take a time out,
they get the ball back, they score, Then they get
the second half kickoff, they score again. That's their double down.
They do it all the damn time. They didn't even
take a time out. They just let the clock run. Okay,
I think they know. But here's what I've been saying.
Oh yeah, not that they were completely done right, but

(03:56):
that if they have to play wild Card weekend and
play three good teams, two of which would be on
the road, I didn't think they would get through that gauntlet.
I still don't think they're gonna get through that gauntlet.
The question is, can they summon the echoes and put
it in our eye one last time this Saturday night
against Tennessee. I don't think anybody would think that they're
gonna go to the super Bowl at this point. You know,

(04:17):
it's spending statistician doesn't, but are we all just getting
a little too eager to hop on their grave because
maybe they can still against the sixth seed at home,
even though I think Tennessee profiles as a bad matchup
for them. Oh and by the way, if you saw
my man Davante Parker did it against Stefan Gilmore yesterday,
why couldn't a J Brown do the same thing? Another

(04:40):
big playoff game in the wild Card that everyone's gonna
be talking about is, you know, the NFC least against
the NFC Beast potentially, or the best in the West
and the least in the East. But I'm gonna tell
you right now, Remember how when a couple of weeks
ago I said, hey, not so fast, when everybody thought
that the wild card team would be better than the
NFC East Division champ. I'm telling you right now the Eagles,
I think ken get real dangerous, real quick, Jordan Howard

(05:04):
coming back, Miles Sanders avoided serious injury, or it's may
come back. And then if they win a game, you
could see DeShawn Jackson, Nelson Aglor Lane Johnson on their
way back. So we'll definitely profile that. But remember this
is now banged up Eagles against banged up Seattle Seahawks.
That big time game on Sunday Night football definitely made Oh,

(05:25):
I don't know, let's see, made the Packers happy, made
I think it made the Eagles happy also because they
get to see Seattle instead of necessarily seeing San Francisco.
But listen, we will have to talk about the injuries again.
I know it's a much more confined um teams that
we're talking about, but these teams are banged up. You

(05:45):
know about Philadelphia, right, I think the big one is
Miles Sanders. They're saying he's gonna be limited in practice,
but that he's gonna be probably for the game, so
he's going all right, Agala, djas Howard, Um, it could
be a lot we'll talk about. In Houston, right, we
got Will Fuller, you know, what will happen? DeAndre Hopkins
is fine, but Will Fuller that's a big one that
we gotta see, all right, Um in Minnesota, what will

(06:07):
happen with Dalvin Cook, Alexander Madison. These are the people
we need to see on the practice reports. Oh and
by the way, last time we saw Adam Feeling, he
was also doing squaw douche for the Minnesota Vikings and
what about you know, plenty of wide receivers for the
New England Patriots, everybody from Mohamed san Newts and Nikil
Harry we have to worry about. So those are things
that we'll be watching, especially. We'll have updates for those

(06:28):
guys in the playoffs on the Thursday episode of Fantasy Freestyle.
But some other things we got to talk about. Did
you see what Adam Gaye had to say about leaving
on bellbyan back. He was pretty much flipping about it,
being like, yeah, I don't know as Joe Douglas, he
does personnel, not me, Like, how much of a dumpster
fire is this? How easy is it now that you
have him signed Adam Gaze to just be happy that

(06:48):
you have actually good talent on that roster. But in
any event, Bruce arians also firing shots, saying, yeah, we
could win with someone else that's not Jamis Winston. You know,
this is the day, even if you're not a coach
who's getting fired. And we'll profile all the ones who
did a little bit later on on the other side
of the break. But there are some coaches throwing shots,
and we also find out that players were playing banged

(07:08):
up all year. For example, t Y Hilton, they said,
played through a torn calf pretty much for the entire year.
Remember these things. Next year, come August, comes draft season,
because maybe these are guys in line for a bounce
back season, all right. In any event, when we come
back on the other side of the break, here Fantasy
Freestyle Episode four and twenty nine, we answer some of
your questions. I see you guys in the chat room,

(07:30):
Ben and the crew, and then what we do takeaways,
what speed's got right, what speeds got wrong? The most
important things to take away from weeks seventeen, and then
we look at the head coaching carousel and the top
ten of the two thousand twenty NFL Draft. This episode
four hundred twenty nine the last Fantasy Freestyle of the decade.

keep with us, get on the damn grid, you know

(08:59):
what it is. We also got people in the chat
room Status would beat Cipher members. My man, Ben, I
you're onto something, Okay when you talk about that draft order,
I'm gonna talk about a couple of things today where
I think the Chargers are interesting lynch pins for a
couple of reasons. All right, Ben, But I think you're
onto something for a couple of reasons. There. You know,
I'm always plugged into the Chargers. Jeremy McMahon real deal
Status would beat Cipher. He just wanted Chip. Congratulations to him.

(09:20):
Blow another one down for that. Jeremy mcmanyat UH the
Cipher also talking about what we're gonna do for New
Year's Eve as we head on into listen to the
Cipher in the chat room. If you have any New
Year's resolutions for the Cipher and it just can't be
more friendship bread, all right, then let me know. But
in any event, so here's what I think is really
interesting that I so, first of all, I said it

(09:41):
last week. I'm gonna say it again. This narrative of
teams with quote unquote nothing to play for. Don't buy
into it anymore. Okay, you know Chicago one yesterday they
had nothing to play for. You know who did Mitchell Trobritsky,
you know, trying to make sure he was the future
of that franchise. Nagy and the Bears now eight and eight.
Remember I was eating the Bears all season long. You know, good,

(10:02):
good props to them forgetting the eight eight and eight.
Nage could have been one of those surprise coach firings.
You never know. Forbisky, they've been talking about cam to Chicago.
You know, he needs the hour to be pointing up.
They get a big win against the Vikings divisional win.
Don't tell me about Cincinnati and the Dalton was auditioning
in essence for, in my opinion, not thirty one, but

(10:23):
all thirty two teams in the NFL. We I've talked
to you about this quarterback merry go round. We're gonna
probably do that next week or one of these down weeks.
I'm telling you there are going to be a ton
of quarterbacks that are out there on the market. Just
off the top of my head. You have Dalton, you
have Mariota, you have cam You have quarterbacks with expiring

(10:43):
contracts like Teddy Bridgewater, Philip Rivers, oh, Tom Brady, that's right.
Don't forget about guys like Jameis Winston. I just told you,
don't forget about what what three to four first round
quarterbacks in the draft? What about Joe Flacco? Did you
forget about him? You know, there's a lot of people
out there fits Magic has earned it, right, So a
lot of different um quarterbacks for different needs. And I'll

(11:07):
talk about it later on. Also, depending on the coach
you have, the scheme, you have where you are in
the cycle. Um, But don't tell me also about say
Atlanta Atlanta won four games in a row to end
the season, and oh now Dan Quinn is back. Oh
now Rocky Morris is the new d C. There, don't
tell me that didn't matter. Okay, they beat New Orleans
in the Dome, they beat San Francisco out west in

(11:30):
that stretch. Don't tell me that didn't matter. For again,
the arrow pointing up and the damn Jets moved to
seven and nine, winning their last two or three games.
Now you have a narrative. Oh well, Sam Donald was outsick.
Oh they didn't have C. J. Mosley, Avery Williamson and others.
Right now, you can find this narrative where the arrows

(11:51):
pointing up on them. Even though you know, I think
the move Joe Douglas makes should not have anything to
do with Levian Bell. What you'd have to do with,
you know, a buggy eyed head coach instead. Another thing
that's a big takeaway for me, So don't tell me
about teams that didn't have anything to play for. I
mean New England had something to play for. The Packers
had something to play for. They slept walk through the

(12:12):
first three quarters, all right. But the other thing that's interesting,
you gotta talk we gotta talk about Jamis. I mentioned
that Bruce Arians like you know, dropping dropping the mighty
being like, yeah, we can win with someone else. I
thought that he was like his handpicked guy. I had
said that I didn't think Bruce Arians would come back
if it wasn't because he didn't think Jamis was the
right piece of clay too mold. But Jamis, you know,

(12:33):
we gotta give it to him. Five thousand one nine
yards passing, but something that's really never been done. Thirty
three touchdowns second in the NFL to only Lamar, but
thirty interceptions, thirty interceptions including like what was fitting a
walk off pick sits to lose the game in overtime. Um,
he might be on the merry ground, right, what about

(12:54):
a guy like Brissette, Tannehill? Where are they gonna be?
Derek Carr? We're now hearing buzzer out. So if James
is on the merry go round, then anybody can be
all right, and it's going to be very interesting. And
listen if there's no more yolo quarterbacks than Jamis, And
like I guess Fitzpatrick, I don't know who is, but
shout out to Jamis. He did get over five thousand

(13:16):
yards thirty three touchdowns, second in the NFL. He wound
up being QB six in fantasy. I know because I
had a lot of shares of him, alright, So like
you take the good, you take the bad. What's good
for fantasy is not always good for the real team.
I want to give a shout out. Also is Derrick Henry,
who won the rushing title. But I noticed though he
had three hundred and three carries, Zeke had three hundred
and one. Those are the only two guys who had

(13:37):
over three hundred carries in this new NFL that are
evolving into the passing league. We talked about it all
the time. Here's the here's the proof. Henry three oh three,
Zeke three oh one. Nobody else over three hundred carries.
Three hundred carries for a season breaks out to about
eighteen game and you wouldn't think that's a huge load.
Remember I've been talking to a year about Todd Gurley

(13:58):
being fifteen or above. Well, if he was doing the
all time to be like two seventy for the season,
it just doesn't happen as much anymore. But no, what
does happen with running backs in the receiving game right,
Christian McCaffrey a hundred and sixteen catches this year, shout
out to him. And also, you know, Austin Ekeler even
gets to ninety two the receiving title. As you know already,
Michael Thomas hundred catches, seventeen hundred and twenty five yards.

(14:21):
What did speeds get? Right? Like? Like how many times
you have to start telling you guys, I believe in
Kansas City. I believe in Kansas City. The you know,
the bounces went their way with the Miami win yesterday.
You know I've been early with it. But this defense
continues to look impressive to me, Tyron Matthew all over
the field. And when you talk defense, you have to
talk about this return game. Also the Legion of Zoom right,

(14:45):
Kole Hardman would return touchdown when this game was still close.
That was a big play. They're gonna get at least
one return touchdown. I believe in the playoffs as well,
it will probably be a big play. Can you imagine
that mid third quarter a f C Championship game against
Lamar I think that's gonna be really big. I think
they're getting better and better. I think they're getting healthy.
Remember I told you about this when Kansas City was

(15:06):
eight to one a few weeks ago, and I said,
I think I'm gonna get on this horse when everybody
is on Lamar in Baltimore, because I saw the defense
and I saw my homes getting healthier and evolving as
a quarterback to do what It's not just the great play,
but the winning play. They're now down to like four
to one. I hope you listen to me and got
it early. I also told you about Carson Wentz making

(15:27):
plays in the fourth quarter. He did it again. I
have seen him. He's now gone twenty three or forty. Okay,
it's the forty forty throws, more of the volume thrower again.
But the running back, the running game is still there, okay,
because Jordan Howard is back. They're even founding Boston Scott.
I know they're a walking mash unit, but they are
committed to the balance and the run game right And

(15:47):
and listen, he did it against the Giants now twice
in overtime a couple of weeks ago. He did it
against Dallas all right, and at these teams in the
match in the in the NFC. Watch it. I'm not
saying I'm picking Philly to go to the super Bowl,
but they can get hot. I like their matchup against Seattle,
and then you never know, uh if they get some
guys back healthy. And here's the other thing. And this

(16:10):
was one of the things I've been harping on all
season long, these second or third year ascending wide receivers.
Davante Parker did it again yesterday. Okay, he went eight
for on seven against Stefan Gilmore. Stefen Gilmour is one
of the leading candidates for Defensive Player of the Year. Alright,
this guy finished as wide receiver eleven. I remember doing

(16:32):
the top twelve that I did in last week's show.
How there's the turnover. Let me tell you something. These
guys are all gonna be there next year. If they
didn't do enough to show you I was right on
these guys, whether it's DeVante park or A. J. Brown,
Godwin Sutton More chart up. Alright, look for some of
these ascending wide receivers next year in their second year,

(16:52):
like an A J. Brown for example. Oh and by
the way, I'll say it, but I said it earlier.
I'll say it again. Wait, Vante Parker looked against Stefan Gilmour.
That's gonna be a j Brown's role on Saturday Night,
and I think he's ready to do it all right,
So we'll talk about that as we handicapped these games. Um,
but it wasn't all good, Like what did I get wrong?
I don't know, you know, I didn't think I didn't

(17:14):
think the Jags were gonna rally up. But I want
to talk more about like the biggest busts of the year,
and maybe we'll do that on the other side of
the break. But what I really want to focus on
is more probably the head coaches. So what we will
do on the other side of the break, we'll talk
about the head coaches. I I got some busts at
each position. We could do that as well, but I'll
tell you more because it is Black Monday, So that's
what we'll focus on on the other side of the break.

(17:36):
We'll have the phone lines open as well, Danny. We
can open them up at eight four four eight four
three six eight seven nine if everybody wants to talk
to the spitting statistician. We'll answer your questions. We'll look
at what Black Monday is all about, the open jobs,
the likely filled jobs, and what we need to look
at which is a good job. What would you do?
That's what I want to know. I know which job

(17:57):
I think is best. I'll tell you why, and then
we'll project a little bit more. Alright, Fantasy Freestyle Episode
four hundred and twenty nine here on Sports Grade. You
already know what it is, the last Fantasy Freestyle of
the decade. Come on back. Maybe we'll hear from the

off the realness, we'd be the infamous. You heard of
us official Queen's Bridge Murderers. You know what it is.
I it's a episode four twenty nine. Sad J. Cutler
in there. Yeah, he's just shook one. Al right. Before
we get into all that, and I we're gonna get
into a black Monday because some of these coaches are

(19:28):
shook because they just got fired. And we're gonna talk
about that. But before we do, I gotta let you

come on, you know about this, all right? Um, people
already know in the cipher. I got people already. Yeah,

(20:11):
Jeremy McMahon said, Jay Cutler, Oh man, we could I
could kill a segment just doing the entire verse. You know,
rock you in your face, stabbed your brain with your
nose bone. You know what I'm saying. But, like I said,
these coaches got fired and so they kind of got
their brain stuck up by their nose bone. Uh today,
So let's talk about this all right. Here's here's what

(20:33):
we already know. All right. Washington obviously has a has
a vacancy. They made the move mid season. It looks
like Ron Rivera is going to be the new head
coach of the Washington football team. All right. Ron Rivera,
two time at NFL Head Coach of the Year, took
the Panthers to the Super Bowl. Okay, this is an

(20:53):
established coach. And remember when when Washington Carolina, you know,
drop the hammer on their current coach early in the season,
that's part of the benefit. They had a chance to
go and interview a guy. You know. We heard that
Carolina was looking at guys like um my, um who
was it H McCarthy already. Okay, so they can get
ahead of the game. Right now. We got news I

(21:15):
think late last night that Freddy Kitchens has gone in Cleveland.
I mean, if you didn't think that was coming, you
certainly have not been listening to the Fantasy Freestyle, you know,
or quite frankly, in this network, because we would. We
were all over that I told you about this dumpster
fire since it was shaping up in the summertime. All right.
We then heard uh today, We knew about Carolina already,

(21:38):
and then we heard today obviously uh Pat Shermer as well,
I was fired by the New York Football Giant. So
that's four. Okay. We're hearing that, uh, Jason Garrett is
meeting with the with the Cowboys. We're hearing that Douck
Morone has a meeting with the front office of the
Jacksonville Jaguars. To Ben's point, and I don't like to
try and wish people ill will on people, but I

(21:58):
wouldn't be surprised if Thanny Lynne gets called into a
meeting sometime soon, you know what I mean. So that's
at least potentially up to seven. And there's always a
surprise in there somewhere, you know, there's always a surprise,
whether it's a health issue for a head coach that
you didn't know about, or whether like remember how Detroit
was just saying they would have Patricia there, but maybe

(22:19):
that was covering. They dropped the hammer, you know what
I mean, when they see what kind of options may
be out there. But we're talking about four four to
seven at least vacancies. So here's the thing, here's what
I look at in these jobs you already have, you know,
in Washington, Cleveland, Carolina and the Giants. The first thing

(22:43):
I look at is my front office, my ownership. Do
I have a committed owner? Do I am I run
the right way? Or am I one of these dumpster
fire organizations? And that would give me cause for pause
for Cleveland, It really would. It would give me cause
for pause for Washington. It really would. However, and I
know Ron Rivera must have known this. You know, Allen

(23:05):
was fired as team president today. Right, They're moving on
from Bruce Allen, And that to me is a signal
to a guy like Ron Rivera. Okay, fine, they finally
are acknowledging that the front office was a dumpster fire.
And what we're hearing is that Ron Rivera is going
to have some insights, some say, into the new GM.
So that makes it interesting. The next thing I look

(23:25):
at is, quite frankly, where I am at the quarterback position.
When I look at Washington, for example, where I look
at Cleveland, I think it's interesting. You do have a
young talent in Baker, maybe in Haskins, in Daniel Jones.

(23:46):
Right in Carolina. It's the interesting one, right because it's
not gonna be Kyle Allen, it's not gonna be Will Greer.
The question is if someone like McCarthy comes in or
some respected guy, does that change the equation for Cam Newton.
We've heard that Cam maybe want to move on. Well
what if he gets a good guy, a good coach,
He's like, oh no, I'll stay here. Then you're said, also,

(24:06):
you know, but that's the situation. I look at right
front office, quarterback, and then the other thing. And I
don't hear a lot of people talking about this much,
but Job one for any NFL team is to win
your division. So I want to see what the rest
of the division looks like. Because, for example, the ana
A f C West, for example, is gonna have Patrick

(24:28):
Mahomes in it for a long time. The a f
C North is gonna have Lamar Jackson in it for
a long time. The NFC West is an up and
coming division. That's kind of why I think Carolina is
an interesting option, because what do you have to really
contend with in that division? Drew Brees, Sure, but if

(24:50):
you're this new head coach, you're not worried about this year.
You're worried about like once you have your stamp on
the team in like two to four years, and by then,
I think Breeze is gone. Similarly, how I was saying this,
the a f C East is good. Once Tom Brady
moves on, who's the team that's primed and ready to
take advantage. It looks like the Bills. I was hoping

(25:11):
it'd be the Jets. But that's why I kind of
think Caroline is a good job because if you have Cleveland,
we don't know about the front office, we don't know
if Baker's that dude yet, and you're in a division
where Lamarin's seed in the crown anytime soon. If you're
the Giants, you're this family run organization and they decided

(25:32):
to retain ghetto man, and I don't know how you
feel about that. You may have the young skill pieces
and a young quarterback Daniel Jones. You got se Kwan, sure,
but in that division, I think Carson Wentz is gonna
be there for a while and it's gonna be not
that easy to knock off. I'm not worried about Washington,
you know, So let's look at these other ones, like

(25:53):
Dallas potentially. What do you think about this front office?
You want to be a yes man to Jerry Jones.
Are they gonna pay back or they? Is he on
the quarterback? Mary? Go around and again went in that
division Jacksonville with Marone maybe right? Where are you in
your quarterback spot? I don't know if I like it.
You're saddled with the contract of Nick Foles? Is he

(26:13):
the guy? I don't know. This has been a front
office that was so bad that the NFL p A
had grievance them against this team. That's not the best
culture to walk into, right, I don't know. When you're
into a qub porgratory. I think the charges could be
interesting because the cupboard is not Barrett allent Wise, if
they accept where they are on the quarterback cycle. That

(26:35):
could be interesting. But here's the thing. Who are the
candidates right for these four or six or seven jobs.
We've heard about some college guys, right, Lincoln Riley. I
think for Dallas, potentially Matt Rule is getting opportunities. Remember
he was on the staff in New York with the Giants.
I hear that a lot of people want Matt Rule
the bailor head coach. And that's an offensive mind. And
if they do that, they probably need to pair them

(26:56):
with a veteran defensive coordinator. I got an idea for one,
by the way, I got an idea for one that
I know can handle New York. He's got a foot fetish,
if you know what I mean. But what about some
you know, these retreads. You got McCarthy, you got Rivera.
I'm hearing Marvin Lewis may get interviews, right. What about
these hot offensive coordinators or defensive coordinators. We're hearing names

(27:18):
like Josh McDaniels. Maybe it's time for even him to
walk away from New England because it's all falling down
over there, and maybe you don't want to be the
Bill Belichick era apparent. If it's crumbling, right, maybe McDaniels
finally takes a job. What about I'm hearing the Buffalo
defensive coordinator Leslie Frasier. He had a head coaching job
once with Minnesota. I believe he's been a good defensive coordinator.

(27:39):
That Buffalo defense looks good. What about the defensive coordinator
in San Francisco, Roberts sala is getting interviews? The Browns
requested permission to interview him in Dallas. Also, we don't
know about that staff that there's been talking about that
d C Christmas Shard. All right, what about offensive coordinator
Greg Roman? And here's you know, Ben who's talking about

(28:00):
the Chargers. Here's another thing. I think it's interesting. Let's
say they move on from Anthony Lynn. If Greg Roman
were to be somewhere Greg Roman, it's Colin Kaepernick's offensive coordinator,
was to Rod's offensive coordinator and Buffalo and is doing
this with Lamar. Here's the thing. Now, you'll have to
know your identity who you are. Baltimore does, even Buffalo does, right,

(28:26):
And I think that's key. If Greg Roman gets a
head coaching opportunity, you need a quarterback like tarad or Oh.
I don't know one of the quarterbacks that will be
on the merry go round might be a Marcus Mariota.
And if you do that, like let's say the Charges right,

(28:47):
Let's say because the Chargers, Ben and anybody else. You're
a team where listen, you're about to move into a
new building. You're the second class citizen in that city.
You have to go to a siling count in your
home games because you got no home field advantage. You
need buzz. The Rams that's their building. The Raiders are
moving to Vegas. The Chiefs have Patty mahomes and you're
still there holding you know, holding your wee wee like

(29:08):
a piato. Are you kidding me? Like apato? You need
some buzz. So what about going in this direction? Greg Roman?
Then you have Tarad, Maybe you're bringing a Mariota. Maybe
then you draft. Oh the draft is upcoming, right, And
remember I told you that Lamar also opened the door

(29:28):
for maybe drafting in the second round or third round
a guy like Jalen Hurts. If you shoved all in
and we're committed to it, imagine a guy like Greg
Roman as your head coach, with a quarterback like Toad
as a bridge, with a guy like Tah or Jalen
Hurts as your quarterback developing as you move to a
new building. That's a little bit different in my opinion,

(29:49):
but it's gotta be all in. You have to know
your identity. Like San Francisco with Shanahan and Lynch, they
know what they wanted to do, Like Hobbar and Roman,
who knew what they wanted to do in Baltimore. It
is going to be very interesting. But I'll tell you this,
your quarterback situation, your front office situation, and if the
stal wars of your division are gonna be there for

(30:09):
a while, because that's job number one. Look at that.
As these head coaching opportunities become available. All right, here's
we're gonna do On the other side of the break, Danny,
it's that time of year again. It is Speeds verse
the kids. We're pulling out a call for Speeds versus
the kids. I will explain the contest. Oh yeah, and
then we'll look at the top ten of the draft order.

(30:31):
We'll go right back to Ben and why the Chargers.
Maybe a lynchpin spot for that one as well. Not
only the head coaching carousel, but the keys to the
draft may lie with I believe for three seven. Come
on back, we'll talk about a fantasy freestyle here on
Sports Grade. NFL season is an ALFA so you can

(30:53):
be on the eighth person to win one million dollars
in a fanuelor Draft Kings tournament. The Daily Order dockum
DFS line of optimizer. If you're playing Dailey Fantasy Sports
and not using Daily Order dot Com, you're doing They're
all sign them now for the NFL Access with a
faster optimizer, smarter DFS projections, and better results into promo
code action for a ten percent discount. Is that's promo

(31:15):
code action for a ten percent discount. Dailor Order dot
com where millionaires are made. Yeah, you're done with O
p P. Yeah you know me. Jeremy McMahon just got

(31:36):
off work. Dilly dilly to the crew. I know, Hey,
he gets down after work. Brother man Henry Henderson giving
me props. Yo, Henry, I'm rocking the shirt today, thanks
of course, making rain still rocking the holiday shirts. You
know what it is. Also, Jetty and Derek were in there.
What I was talking about there for the Giants. Now
here's the thing what I'm talking about, and I'm not
I'm not I'm not completely out of left field here.

(32:00):
Rex Ryan wants to get back into coaching, and I
believe Rex Ryan is an incredible defensive coordinator. Rex Ryan
knows about New York and the media, and I think, listen,
here's what I'm talking about. Look at the Los Angeles Rams.
They went out and had a bold head coaching higher
in the young Sean McVeigh to be an offensive mind,

(32:21):
the genius to work with the young quarterback right. But
what people need to realize is that that was partnered
with hiring Wade Phillips as the defensive coordinator, an experienced
guy not only to just outsource like, okay, you manage
the defense, but also to help a head coach in
his thirties understand the lay of the land. And if

(32:45):
the Giants go the direction of like a Matt Rule
or Josh McDaniels, they may need to balance it with
a Rex Ryan, as I'm not saying as a head coach,
but as a defensive coordinator, Okay, to balance it out.
That's what I'm talking about, Jart, Derek and some others
out there. I think, listen, I think it's viable. I
saw the Rams with this same exact model. Okay, and

(33:07):
think about also with um oh, I don't know, there's
been others, you know, like think about Kingsbury out there
in Arizona. You need an experience d C on the
other side to kind of balance it out. But in
any event, that's what I think could be interesting. But
we all are hearing rule potentially. Um I'm here, McDaniels.
But anyway, let's get into it. Uh. The other thing

(33:28):
that was set up is not only head coaches getting fired,
but the top of the draft. The draft is Uh,
the draft order is set, and here's the way I
think it's gonna go down. And Ben, I think the
Chargers hold the lynchpin in this one as well. So
we know now Number one is gonna be Cincinnati, all right.

(33:48):
For all intents and purposes, it sounds like it's Joe
Burrow right now, obviously, And many smart people are going
to tell you that Chase Young is the best player
in this draft, and he might be all right, but
they're getting they got signs in Cincinnati for him already.
Joe Burrow is from Ohio. Remember when he gave his
Heisman speech. He picked up his old school. They've raised
four hundred thousand dollars already his old high school. This

(34:12):
is like an Ohio thing. I'm also hearing. By the way,
you know, Urban Meyer is a name that's out there
a lot, whether it's a front office in Washington, whether
it's in the state of Ohio and Cleveland. That's another
name to look at. But let's just go ahead and
pencil and Joe Burrow to Cincinnati for now. And listen,
we're four months out. Okay, We're gonna hear a lot

(34:32):
of stuff if this is the case. Remember, if Ron
Rivera is the new Washington head coach, he ain't letting
Chase Young slipped past him. And they just drafted a
quarterback last year, right, Dwayne Haskins, you gotta see what
you're having in so to me, this is Bengals with
the first pick, Joe Burrow, Washington with the second pick,
Chase Young, a new toy for Ron Rivera, right. Put

(34:55):
along the other side of Monted Sweat, who they got
last year in the draft. They got a bunch of
first round horses in that front seven. Detroit is three.
I think this is very interesting. I think Detroit is
interesting for a number of reasons. One, we heard reports

(35:17):
of Patricia losing the room. Yeah, they he gets the
vote of confidence. Matthew Stafford is a quarterback in his
thirties with a broken back who hasn't finished many seasons.
You see what happens when, like you know, the Steelers
started looking for replacements for Band, Giants looking for Eli.
The Chargers never really did for Philip And now where

(35:38):
are they? The Detroit Lions may think they're not gonna
never gonna have another opportunity to go ahead and get
call it justin Herbert, call it to call it Easton
or from The Detroit Lions may not have another opportunity
to go and get this caliber quarterback right away. They

(35:58):
may do it, but if they don't, they'd be very
happy to trade down, in my opinion. And you're gonna
say and and that's why And I think this could
be the spot. Four is the New York Football Giants.
They also won't need a quarterback, right They also probably
could go defense or offensive line. Plenty of needs for
the Giants. Also, I think they'll get a defensive player

(36:21):
right Whoever, the Devon Bush Devin White kind of player
is maybe of somebody in the secondary as well. Right
back seven potentially. And then you have Miami at five.
Everyone thought they were gonna be O N sixteen, tanking
all that stuff so that they could get Joe Burrow
right blow for Joe or twa. Everyone thought that the
Miami Dolphins, it was written that they were going to

(36:41):
get to UH at number one. Well, what do you know,
They're at five, and what do you know? Because of
the toa hip injury and how it goes down, they
could still get to UH at five. They could get
the second quarterback off the board potentially. But here's the
thing I believe. Listen, the Philadelphia Eagles went up to

(37:03):
get Carson Wentz, the Los Angeles Rams went up to
get Jared Goff, The Kansas City Chiefs went up to
get Patrick Mahomes. The Houston Texans went up to get
DeShawn Watson. The Buffalo Bills went up to get Josh Allen.
Helvius Jets went up to get Sam Donald. Hell, the
Bearers went up to get Mitchell Trabinsky. Someone is gonna

(37:25):
fall in love with. I believe Justin Herbert. I believe
Justin Herbert has all the tools. I believe Justin Herbert
is actually the best pro quarterback. Prospect in this draft.
I think he's gonna have a better NFL career than
Joe Burrow. Yeah, I said it all right. I think
someone's gonna become enamored Justin Herbert, and I think whoever

(37:48):
that team is, they're gonna know that they need to
hop the Miami Dolphins at number five and the places
they'll be able to do it because Cincinnati is gonna
take their guy. Washington ain't gonna let Chase Young drop. Okay,
the Spots are trading up to Detroit at three or
the Giants at four, those are the spots that are
gonna be open for business in my opinion, because you're

(38:10):
gonna have to get above Miami to get the quarterback.
Then and here you go again. Then the Charges are
at six, the Panthers are at seven. Those are the
two teams. Listen, the Jets went from six to three
to get Sam Donald. You're telling me the Chargers wouldn't
go from six up to three or four to get
a Herbert or a toa I think they might. You

(38:33):
think the Carolina Panthers, what if they don't know what
they're doing right and the new head coach if they
get they trade Cam Newton. Right, could they trade up
to get one of these guys hop Miami and then
go ahead and sign a Oh, depending on the type
of quarterback they draft. If they want to draft a
tour if that's what it's gonna be, do they sign

(38:54):
a Mariota? If they want to draft a Herbert? Do
they sign in Andy Dalton as a bridge of Philip
Rivers as a bridge. Okay, that's the kind of thing
you're gonna need to do. If you want Greg Roman
as your coach and you want a mobile quarterback, you
may be interested in Tyrod Mariota, Cam Newton for example. Right,

(39:21):
But if you're gonna draft a kid like Herbert, or
you want to be a standing deliver West Coast scheme,
you're gonna sign a different kind of quarterback or draft
a different kind of quarterback. I think that's going to
be very interesting. All right, So let me know what
you think. We'll be monitoring this, but remember this is
the way it's gonna go. The the market will profile
the market, and we'll go even deeper into it. Maybe
in that week in between the championship game in the

(39:42):
Super Bowl, Well, we'll have a lot of time to
talk about Danny, it is time for speeds versus the
kids again? Are you ready? Danny? All right, cool, here's
me going. Um. Jarty says, I would be crazy to
have McDaniel and Rex. I think listen, I think, um.
I don't know that Rex would balance with a McDaniels,
but with a with a rule it could be interesting.

(40:03):
But in any event, Danny, I believe what do you think?
Is this your four of speeds versus the kids? Maybe
your five? I've been doing it for a while. I
think freestyle started in two thousand fifteen. You've been doing
speeds versus a kid since before I was on the show,
So it's got it's at least four years, right, all right,
So for anybody that doesn't know, here's what we're gonna do,

(40:24):
all right, I um, you know whether you are friends
and families, stats over beat cipher. I know some of
the cipher. You got kids. We've seen videos of bouncing
around to baby Shark by the way again, shout out
to Danny Lee and the undisclosed location. I got a
lot of positive feedback Danny about the incredibly humbling gift
that Danny Um Danny Lee gave me. I went down
some rabbit hole. I found out even more. We'll talk

(40:45):
about it on another episode. I got some pictures of
Danny Lee in action that I found on the internet. Um,
but so speeds versus kids are gonna happen. Now here's
how we're gonna do it, Danny. People have to send
me um, either audio or video UM their picks. And

(41:05):
here's the catch, Danny. And as you know, we had
some controversy previously. There can be no adult guidance whatsoever, right, Danny.
I think we had a little controversy. We had some
coaching of parents, you know, a little bit of like
guilt tripping if you remember last year, And it looked
like when we had one kid who was doing really well.
I believe it was Tito, and then all of a sudden,

(41:27):
his picks started to have all of a sudden new
kinds of analysis in it. You know, earlier on in
the playoffs, it was like, I like Patriots because they
stand for justice, and then later on it was like,
because this guy is a good quarterback and he's won
six Super Bowls. Like that eight year old did not
know that, you know what I mean. So you know
the matchups are Houston verse Buffalo, Danny, New England versus Tennessee,

(41:49):
New Orleans versus Minnesota, and Philly verse Seattle. I'll make
my official picks on the Thursday Free Freestyle will profile
all the games. Will get your picks as well, Danny,
but they people need to send me their picks. And
here's the thing, Danny, We're also we're gonna keep track
of them, but we're gonna track. The leader is gonna
be whoever gets the most correct, not a percentage. Because

(42:12):
last year also, Danny, we had some inconsistent entries, you know,
and some somebody I think went like three out of four,
but then we didn't hear from the kid ever again,
and so I don't like that they were going. There
were eleven games in the playoffs, all right, twelve teams
left standing. We find the winner. There are four weeks left,
eleven games left. We're gonna find out who can get

(42:33):
the most correct. And Danny, we're doing this without the spread. Okay,
this is just straight up picks, all right, Danny, are
you going to make picks as well? Okay, So it's
gonna be speeds, Danny Otto and the kids, all right,
And I'll make my official picks on Thursday. Will get
your picks on Thursday as well, And anybody send me

(42:53):
your picks via text if you have my number, um email,
if you have that on Patreon on social media, you
can hit me up d M on Twitter at spitting Speeds,
on Patreon wherever. I gotta have the audio the video
of your kids making the picks, and you have to
agree that I'm gonna use it on air, okay, and
We're gonna make fun of some of the picks. We're
gonna react to the standings and all that. You kind

(43:14):
of implicitly agree to be part of Speeds versus the kids.
All right, Danny, I don't know what we have last year,
maybe like between five and eight kids maybe, Danny, what
how was it last year? What do you remember from it? Yeah,
that's yeah, it was. It was definitely five or eight.
Um and I would I go five hundred us You
went about five hundred, I think. And I'm not trying
to bring this up to you know, fun of you, Danny,

(43:37):
but I do believe that no kid has ever beaten Speeds.
Oh I definitely got beat But that's what I was
gonna say. But we have kids pick better than Danny
Otto in the pit of misery. Okay, okay, and I'm
not trying, you know. So, Danny, are you ready for
a bounce back? Yere? Are you going to be able
to beat all of the kids? Danny? Probably not, but

(44:00):
I'm gonna try. Well, you have the head start because
you will at least be here and be able to
make all eleven picks. Some of the kids, it's really
on their parents, you know, for them to get the
videos actually in, you know, but stats over beat Cipher.
I want to see y'all, um, you know, whether it
be we know we have uh, you know, Danny Lee
from the undisclosed location, whether it's you know, Julie Dilley,

(44:21):
the Henderson's. It doesn't have to be your kid. It
could be a step kid, a god kid, a niece
and nephew. We want to find out if it's a
game of luck or a game of skill. All right,
and I believe I'm gonna beat the kids yet again.
So on Thursday, Danny, we will profile all of the
matchups Texans US Bills, Pats versus Titans, Saints versus Vikings,

(44:43):
Eagles verse Seahawks. I'll give you my picks in plays.
We'll also talk about the biggest fantasy busts of the
two thousand and nineteen season. Will keep looking at how
this draft class shakes out, how this quarterback market shakes out,
and how the head coaches shake out. Maybe we'll profile
all the coaches on the quarterbacks on the Merry Go
Round as well. But on Thursday, I need your picks

(45:05):
for Speeds versu the kids, and we profile wild Card Weekend,
one of the best football weekends of the year, and
will be back. It'll be episode four thirty with the
status of the Beats Cipher. You know what it is.
I'm out piece. NFL season is now upon us and
you can become the eighth person away one million dollars
in a Fandel Draft Kings tournament my sator lineups using

(45:28):
the Daily Order dot Com DFS line of optimizer. If
you're playing Kailey Fantasy Sports and not using Daily Order

the NFL Access with a faster optimizer, smarter DFS projections,

And that's promo code action, first ten percent discount. Daily
Order dot Com where millionaires are made. What you missed

(45:54):
on fitnessy Freestyle. A lot of people have already won
their league's lot of people have already won that cash.
So we're gonna do a lot of interesting things on
today's show. You know, the football season does go on
and there are still ways to make some money. So
we're gonna talk about it, all right. We're gonna break
down all the injuries, all the things that happened, my

(46:14):
biggest takeaways, what we got right, what we got wrong.
Like we usually do, this is also known as black Monday. Okay,
So we will cover the current head coaching openings. We
project there to be a couple of more, and I'll
give you my take on what it is that makes
a good job, who these candidates might be, and we'll
look into the crystal ball of the merry go round
of the coaches, all right. I also we have solidified

(46:36):
a few things like, oh, I don't know next year's schedule.
I'll tell you what I like about that. That and
we already know a lot of things about that. We've
also solidified the top ten, the top sixteen of the
draft next year. Okay, so we'll talk a little bit
about that. We will also, if you are real deal
status over beat. Site for the phone lines will be
open if you want to call in, which is a

(46:57):
happy Holidays or you know, gloat for your champion and
ships as usual. My man Henry Henderson already in the
chat and by the way, your gift came over the weekend.
I'm rocking it right here. We make it rain. We
make it rain on these ho ho hoes. You know
what it is. UH So thank you to Henry and
Jennifer Henderson for that. I see him in the chat
room and listen. You know how we always talk about

(47:18):
different games and different things that we like to do.
We have Game of Inches throughout the season. I think, Danny,
we have to declare a winner of Game of Inches
and I have a couple of ideas for that, so
we'll talk to that. We also listen, it's the playoffs.
Let's starts a new game, Speeds versus the Kids. We'll
talk about that, Danny. I think it's like the fifth
year we'll be doing Speeds versus Kids. Will outline that
for anybody who wants to get down as well in

(47:41):
the chat room. Here's what we got to talk about
in the poll question that I have up at UH
spitting speeds at F and T s Y Radio. Are
the Pets done? Um? If you've been listening to me
for the last, oh, i don't know, a few months,
I've been telling you a few things. One that their
road record even last year was a problem, that their

(48:01):
offense doesn't look right, that they actually know it right,
that they know it and by the way, more of
it happened on Sunday. Two things. One another trick play
they resorted to to score a touchdown. This time it's
the linebacker out of the flat. Remember Julian Edelman and
flee flickers. They resorted to it again. Second of all,

(48:24):
they stopped the Miami Dolphins with about a minute and
a half left in the second quarter. What does Bill Belichick,
Tom Brady and the New England Patriots usually do. They
take a time out, they get the ball back, they score,
Then they get the second half kickoff, they score again.
That's their double down. They do it all the damn time.
