Speaker 1 (00:03):
Hello everybody. Welcome into the Fantasy Pros Dynasty Football Podcast.
I'm Ryan Warmley, joined as always by Scott Bogman and
Pat Fitzmorris and a couple of listeners along with a
couple of bots. We are doing a mock draft for
startup drafts today. This is super flex as many dynasty
leagues are, and we're going to be drafting against a
couple of listeners. We're gonna be drafting against some bots.
But yeah, guys, we are jumping in. This is one

(00:25):
of my favorite episodes to do every single year. I
love MOX, I love drafts. That's why a lot of
us like this. And I don't have any startups that
I'm signed up for this year, so I'm really excited
to kind of dive in and almost learn from myself
for this season, like put your money where your mouth is,
what do you really feel about these guys when you're
on the clock. Like I said, this is a startup

(00:45):
super flex draft. I believe it'll be sixteen rounds. We're
not drafting you know, kickers or defenses or anything like that,
and with the bots, it might move pretty quickly, so
not going to be too long of an episode. I
don't think we do have a couple of friendly faces
in here to draft again, it's including one of your friends, Bogs.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
Yeah, my boy, the American sniper who does all kinds
of mock drafts with me over at in this league,
has jumped into this draft and picked the number one spot,
so curious to see where he goes super Flex. I
also I put myself at six so that I can
kind of see because I have I have five quarterbacks
and then Jamar Chase in my super Flex ranking, so

(01:22):
I kind of wanted to put myself to the test
if it is Jamar Chase versus Patrick Mahomes, would I
really skip quarterback that early in a super Flex.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
I'm picking third just because I tend to like picking
third in every draft. I never like to be the
first pick, but I like going early. So I just
kind of on a whim picked three fits. Where are
you picking today?

Speaker 3 (01:42):
I'm picking ninth, and yeah, I just kind of wanted
to try from the back end, And yeah, I'm excited
about this episode. Wor I'm like you, this is my
only startup draft, this mock. It's the first time in
a while that I'm not doing an actual startup I
finally had to just cut myself off and say no
more new Dynasty leagues, even though there were a couple

(02:04):
of really tempting invitations, I just I couldn't take on anymore.
I'm already like too passive as a trader, you know,
Like I feel like I'm already over expended.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
I have joined a couple of Dynasty leagues this year,
but they were orphans I was taking over for I
have not joined any with the startup. What I really
want to do is basically every year, I want to
do a new startup. But that's best Ball, because like
I can't get too into like I can't have another
league where I'm setting lineups doing waivers all the time.
But I really would want to. I just like drafting,

(02:34):
and I want to do more Dynasty. So maybe some
kind of dynasty best Ball I want to join. We
have a surprise, your boy Bogwin goes Jamar Chase with
the first pick. Even in Superflex, Jayden Daniels goes too.
I was expecting to take Lamar. I'm now on the clock,
though I kind of have to take Alan. I don't
think there's you know, it would be a homer pick.
I think to not go against Allen, just given how

(02:54):
consistently he's a top two quarterback all the time. So
jamar Chase though, first though, what do you think about
that fits well? While Bogman's on the clock.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
All right, so hopefully our our friend knew that it
was super flex. But like I have Chase, I mean
I think I have him sixth overall, and I think
you could make a case for top four, you know,
a super flex dynasty startup. But like some people don't
like going after quarterbacks in the first round and would
rather wait a little bit and get one of the

(03:25):
very best or in this case, the best positional asset
in dynasty. I totally get it. I totally get it.
I mean I personally would go quarterback there, but I
can see it.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
I am just not personally comfortable in the top half
of the first round knowing how long it's going to
be till I pick again, passing up on quarterback and
super flex. It's just the way I operate. I will
never be the guy to make a move like that, Bogman.
That does mean a quarterback falls to you in your
top five.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
Yeah, I went Jalen Hurts. Pretty easy pick for me
because he was the last of my quarterbacks there, but
between him and Justin Jefferson kind of tough, right, And
Jefferson is still on the board here for FITZI, So
I'm interested to see what FITZI does here.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
Yeah, I am going to take Jefferson. Interesting is because
I am so used to taking a quarterback with the
first pick in a dynasty startup. I don't know if
I've ever not gone with that.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
We're trying stuff. Yeah, a lot of quarterbacks go between
your two picks here, Fitz bo Nix is off the board.
Brock Purdy, Kyler, Murray, c J. Straud, and Drake May
all go in so to Ceedee Lamb prior to your
next pick, was there a quarterback that you wanted to
fall to you in the second round that didn't.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
Oh, Drake May Absolutely?

Speaker 1 (04:37):
Yeah, So fitz totally issues quarterback here going with Justin
Jefferson and b Jehan Robinson.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Interesting, Fitzie, I mean is that I gotta take Caleb here.
I gotta go to the double quarterback Hurts and Caleb.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
I love it. Some of the other names off the board,
Malik Neighbors, Jamior Gibbs, Bogwin, Paris Hurts with Caleb as
he says, Jared Goff goes and I'm and Ross Saint
Brown bringing me on the clock. So yeah, Hurts and Kleb,
that's a pretty strong start for you.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
I hate you know. We talk about quarterbacks all the time,
and FITZI brings us up a lot, and it's the
fact that you can't trade for a quarterback. It's almost
impossible if you're trading up in a super flex to
get a high end quarterback. You have to be in
a class like last year, like this twenty twenty six
potential has where there's a lot of quarterbacks that you're

(05:30):
moving up for, not just one like the twenty twenty
five class with cam Ward. So I just think it's
super important to be able to get your qbs pretty
early here.

Speaker 1 (05:40):
So the next couple of picks, Jordan Love goes after me.
I considered him just to get the second quarterback, Puka Nakua.
I took Brian Thomas Junior over Puka just a little
bit younger, and I'm just enamored with the ceiling. He
doesn't have quite the injury history that Puka does. On occasion,
I was thinking maybe gent would get back to me
in the third. He does not. I was thinking maybe
Bowers gets back to me in the third. He does not,

(06:01):
so I will now take I'm going to go with
another receiver here and Nico Collins. We have a thirty
second clock, by the way, so it does move a
little quickly. So I'm kind of I'm starting off with
two receivers and of course Josh Allen, so I'm feeling
pretty comfortable that that'll be kind of how I start
most draft, unless I double up on quarterback. I think
most startups, I'm looking at something like two receivers and

(06:21):
a quarterback to get things going.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
Fits.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
What do you think about my first few picks?

Speaker 3 (06:26):
Yeah, so far, I am very much on board worm
and you know, like getting Nico that lay, it was
just a huge value.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
I could have considered somebody like Drake London aj Brown
if I wanted to skew a little older, Bogwin, you
go a little bit older relative to the position at
running back here.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
Yeah, I went with Saquan, and you know, I just
I have Saquan in a higher tier than the wide
receivers that were left on the board and the rest
of the running back so he was just clearly my
highest pick. I understand he's a little bit long in
the tooth, he's coming off, you know, so many touches,
but he's still the best running back in the league
behind the best offensive line in the league. So with

(07:04):
that combo, I'm willing to go ahead and risk it.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
I'm gonna pause here for a second and remind everybody
that all of our twenty twenty five consensus rankings and
tiers can be found at fantasypros dot com slash Rankings.
From there you can navigate to our dynasty rankings as well.
And also I want to remind everybody that today's live
dynasty startup mock draft is done using our mock draft
lobby over at fantasypros dot com slash draft Wizard, just
like you'll see today. Our multi user drafts allow you

(07:29):
to practice quick and fund mock drafts against both real

do all real people. We have kind of a mix
here with some bots and some real folks using that
same easy to use interface as our draft stimulator, so
you practice the way you actually will be drafting in August.
While public mock drafts aren't available yet, you can easily
run through a realistic mock draft based on your league

(07:51):
settings in minutes with our draft stimulator. Sink your league
for free and try it today at fantasypros dot com.
Slash mock now fits. You have made a couple of
picks here before I on pause, walk us through your
next two picks.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
Yeah, I caught up at quarterback. I took Trevor Lawrence
and Michael Pennex. I actually have Penix ranked higher than
Lawrence in Dynasty, but I had a feeling I know
that's very against the grain and that I have Penix
ranked much higher than consensus, so I suspected that Pennix
would still be around for me in the fourth round.

(08:24):
He was. And actually seeing how these two picks worked
out in the third and fourth rounds with Trevor Lawrence
and Michael Pennox, I'm pretty glad I bypassed the quarterbacks
in the first two rounds because I'm pretty happy with
these two quarterbacks as my duo in super Flex, and
obviously I feel like I've got a big leg up
at wide receiver and running back with Justin Jefferson and

(08:48):
b John Robinson.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
I really love Trevor Lawrence in the back half of
the third round. Any super flex startup, I think that's
a great, great pick. You're a bit higher on Pennix
than I am. I still think good to go to
the quarterback direction here at this point. But you know,
Trevor Lawrence went after JJ McCarthy, Baker Mayfield. I think
that's a mistake. I would rather have Lawrence if I'm

(09:11):
building a startup team here, just giving the youth and
the upside. Some of the other names that went in
this range, Trusted Venom, one of our listeners, Devin h Chan,
he took Brace Hall, Dereck Henry, so a lot of
running backs here in the third round. I love Garrett
Wilson by the twelfth team getting him last pick of
the third round as well, in a startup Jonathan Taylor
A J. Brown off the board as well. Lad McCaughey

(09:33):
goes to Trusted Venom just after your Penix pick. I
liked that one a lot. And then Omarion Hampton goes
with the four H six. So I'll now resume the
draft here, Bob. When you have a few seconds to
think about what you want to do, what's your thought
process here at four oh seven coming off your first
three picks.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
Yeah, I mean I look at Fitz's team and I'm
actually I really love what he did, you know. I
know he's a little bit panicky about Jefferson and then
Bjeon and kind of let the clock run down to
he's having a tough decision, but the decision has worked
out perfectly. And knowing that Michael Pennix is high on
your board but not typically higher on everyone else's board,

(10:08):
and knowing that and using that to your advantage to
wait to take him is super smart. So I really
like the way that it's broken down for you fits
he for me here, sir, No wide out yet on
my team because I have the two qbs and I
want with Saquan. Marvin Harrison still on the board coming
off a down yere last year, obviously has built himself
to look like Jason Pierre Paul right now. So I

(10:31):
still really like Marvin Harrison. I think there's a lot
of meat on the bone for growth, and he's super young,
so I'm gonna go ahead and snap him up here.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
I was kind of hoping he might get to me.
I didn't fully expect him to. That's a good and
the fourth round. I think that's the absolute right spot
to buy on the ball. I mean, this is a
guy that was going early second in startups a year ago.
Like I think getting a two round discount when he's
still so young a year in the league, I like
that a lot. Now that he's not there, I'm gonna
go with the tight end. I like just having a

(10:58):
tight end that I don't have to think about the
position even though this isn't tight end premium, and if TREYE.
McBride wasn't there, I probably wouldn't have. But I think
he is outside of brock Bauers, like my easy tight
end one in Dynasty. So the fact that he was
still there late fourth I get to not think about
the position moving forward. I'm very comfortable taking him with
the four to ten. So this brings us to your

(11:20):
boy Bogins on the clock. By the way, Ted McMillan
goes after my pick, your guy takes Dak Prescott here
at the four twelve. Was that his first quarterback, first QB,
first QB? Yeah, So he started off with Jamar Chase,
Pukinukua Ash and genty wait till the end of the
fourth to get Dak's a pretty good one to get
if this is the scenario you're going, Bogman, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
I oh man. He took t Higgins, which is a
good pick. I think I would want to have seen
him taken another quarterback, but everybody has QB's right now.
So T Higgins was a great pick. Sniper appreciate that.

Speaker 1 (11:54):
I'm a little torn back on the clock here. T
Higgins goes, James Cook goes. I don't have a running
back yet. I don't really like to take one. I'm
I think this is a mock to, which makes it
for more fun. I think I just go pure upside
and take Dravis Hunter. I mean that could end up
looking like a steal in the fifth round a year.
I could end up looking like a real reach too.
But if he is playing widers he for full time

(12:15):
this year, a fifth rounder in a dynasty startup, I
think that's a great pick. Honestly, I'm really happy with that.

Speaker 3 (12:20):
Fits Yeah, as well, you should be. I mean, the
only risk is that he eventually goes back to being
mostly a cornerback. You know, that's the definite risk. Yeah, right,
So that that is a little bit of a concern.
So I don't know. I think it was the right
move and uh now I'm up. I'm gonna take I'm
gonna take Romo Duneesay to start working on the wide

(12:43):
receiver position a little. I know there's some concerns that
he didn't really pop as a rookie, but I'm pretty
convinced of the talent and I'm loading up on former
Washington Huskies by the way, with Michael Pennox, Romo Dunsay.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
DJ moorese if you're worthy, Chase Brown, Kenneth Walker, cam Ward,
Christian McCaffrey. I'll go off the board prior to his
next pick, which ends up being Jordan Addison.

Speaker 3 (13:05):
Yeah, And I know some people are going to, you know,
maybe blanche a little bit at the situation this year
with having to I've now got both Minnesota Vikings wide
receivers with Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison, And like, I
know that's not ideal for twenty twenty five. I tend
to build winning your two teams anyway. I just think

(13:28):
like Addison has this long runway in his career and
I'm pretty certain that he's one of the twenty five
or twenty most talented wide receivers in the league. It's
just with the rookie quarterback, with Justin Jefferson sharing targets.
You know, it's not the best ecosystem from now, but
long term, I'm totally sold on Addison.

Speaker 1 (13:49):
I'm kind of bummed Bogman, Justic Travion Henderson, which is
who I wanted. I don't have a second quarterback yet,
and I'm gonna there are a lot of them are gone.
I'm going to buy in on the second half of
Bryce Young last year as my QB too. I think
it might be a bit of a reach, But because
the player with the number one pick doesn't have his
second quarterback yet, I thought he might not get to me.

(14:10):
I didn't want to ride that Justin Fields roller coaster.
So I'm going to buy in on the second half breakout.
I would have taken Trayvon Henderson. I would have taken
Jalen Waddle. A lot of guys went right before my
pick that I would have taken. Instead, Bob walked me
through that Henderson pick.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
Yeah, it was just I was looking for some upside here.
I just had taken your boy, say Flowers, so because
I had taken Marvin Harrison, Marvin Harrison's kind of a
ceiling pick. I feel Za Flowers as kind of a
high floor pick. I was between him and Jordan Addison,
who fits he ended up taking. I was a smart pick,
but at that point I was debating. So at this

(14:47):
pick here I went just upside because I have Saquon Barkley,
so old guy and a young guy. I think it
pairs together fairly well.

Speaker 1 (14:55):
I like it a lot. After my pick, DK Metcalf goes,
Caleb Johnson goes to a tongu I loogos so now
I believe every team has two quarterbacks already in as
of the first pick of the seventh round, every team
is already at least as starters. There. Jamison Williams goes
as well. I do want to let everybody know that
if you want a chance to win a signed Nicocollins,

(15:16):
who I drafted in this Muck Startup draft. If you
want to win a sign Nico Collins Texans Jersey for
free courtesy of our friends at Pristineauction dot com, all
you have to do is to subscribe to the Fantasy
Pros YouTube channel right now, drop a comment below on
any video, and that is it will be announcing a
winner right here on the channel, So make sure to
turn on those notifications so you can know what new
videos are up and to claim your prize. Look at

(15:39):
my team. I've got three receivers already, I've got two quarterbacks.
I've got a tight end. I am kind of regretting
taking Trey McBride, not because I didn't like to pick
in the moment, but there are some titans available. I
really like the idea of taking Colston Loveland here. I'm
not going to do it because I have McBride, but
I think him in the seventh round of a startup,
even not tight end, premium is actually pretty sharp. So
I kind of wish that I had got a different

(16:00):
direction with McBride. I don't have a running back yet.
The top guys on the list Chuba Hubbard, Joe Mix,
and David Montgomery Alvin Kamara. Those are not guys I
want to be taking in the startup. Just the way
I operate and kind of look to be a contender
for a long time. I don't tend to try to
win year one. The only younger running back that doesn't
have like a ton of competition in his backfield that's

(16:21):
available is r J. Harvey. It might be a bit
of a reach, but if Debro is right about him,
it might end up being a pretty good pick as well.
So I'll take Harvey and get my first running back
on the board. Next two picks off the board TJ.
Hocketson and George Pickens, which brings us to Bogman on
the clock.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
Man, I had two players in my queue, they were r. J.
Harvey and George Pickens, and there they go.

Speaker 1 (16:41):
That is frustrating, doesn't it always seem to work that way?

Speaker 3 (16:44):
All right? Yeah, I'm gonna go. I mean, I'm gonna
load up on some vets here. Give me.

Speaker 2 (16:49):
Give me Mike Evans. At this point, I know he's old.
I have two younger wideouts. This is my third wide out,
and uh, you know, having him in Saquon on the
team along with my two high enqbs, I think I
got to be close to pushing my chips in here already.

Speaker 1 (17:06):
I hear fitz scoffing at I'm thinking maybe trusted Venoms
pick because I was also considering that player.

Speaker 3 (17:13):
Yeah, yeah, he killed me there with egg Buka. All right,
so you know what I'm I am going to Uh,
I'm gonna take a third quarterback just the upside. I
just I always rest easier when I have that third
quarterback in super flex, and I want a guy with
some running upside since I don't really have that, well

(17:34):
a little bit of running upside with Trevor Lawrence, but
really none with Michael Pennock. So I took Justin Fields,
and I'm like, I feel pretty good about Fields long term.
I don't know if he's going to be like a
starter in the league for the next five years, but
all right, this time we're gonna go staying young man.
We're gonna go with Luther Burden.

Speaker 1 (17:54):
Wow, great pick fits. You're all in on the Bears,
Burden and Odonsay.

Speaker 3 (17:59):
Pairing up to Alkins two Bears, Vikings like Noah's Ark.

Speaker 1 (18:04):
Some of the other picks that went between your picks,
A lot of receivers, Tyreek, Ricky, piers All, DeVante, Adams, Cortland,
Sutton Skataboo does go. I know that probably broke the
heart of one person on this show, Jerry, Judy Burden,
Colson Loveland does go. And the eighth in I think
that's a great pick by Trusted Venom. Honestly, in the
eighth round. I really like Lovelin Montgomery, and then Bogman

(18:24):
continues started sort of this veteran run Chewba Hubbard, Joe
Mixing Goes and Kittle. Bogman talked me through Hubbard while
I make my pick.

Speaker 2 (18:31):
Yeah, I mean to be honest, I was between Kittle
and Hubbard, right, and Kittle is an older tight end,
probably not gonna.

Speaker 3 (18:38):
Last very long.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
And just looking at my running backs, you know I
love Saquon, but he did have a ton of carries.
Tray Bion is very young. I don't I wouldn't call
him trustable yet. So I figured, let's just go ahead
and take Chewba Hubbard. We know he's going to be
still relied upon heavily in this offense, so that's why
I went and took him, kind of to minimize risk.

Speaker 1 (18:59):
Bob Himick, I went with Tyler Warren. I know I
already have a tight end, but truthfully, like in a startup,
I'd rather just get players that I really like. And
I felt like the eighth round was too low for
a guy that's like a pretty consensus top five Dynasty
tight end. And now I can never think about tight
end again for the next decade having McBride and Warren,
so I'm happy to do that. I am back on

(19:20):
the clock at I'm gonna take Geno Smith for my
third quarterback because I have Bryce Young and there's obviously
still some degree of uncertainty. I think Gino is a
great third quarterback. I think he continues to be underrated,
and he will give me some stability if Bryce Young
ends up not being very good, because Josh Allen alone
will make me somewhat of a contender, I believe in
a league like this, But on the chance he struggles,

(19:42):
I'm happy to get kind of a sturdier third quarterback. Bogwin,
you also go quarterback here in the ninth round, Yeah,
I went.

Speaker 2 (19:47):
With Anthony Richardson. Look, he just doesn't have to start
for me, So I think that's the biggest upside that
I have for Anthony Richardson. I don't know if he's
gonna be able to win this job in Indy, but
if he does win that job, he is worth so
much more than any other player that is currently on
the board if he ends up with the starting job.
So I just think the value was too high for him.

Speaker 1 (20:08):
At this point.

Speaker 2 (20:09):
I had to go ahead and take him.

Speaker 1 (20:11):
Yeah, I toyed with the idea of Richardson as a
kind of a pure upside play. So I do like
it fits. But it looks like Jaden Higgins would't one
pick before you. He was somebody I was considering as well,
So I think that's a good pick by trusted venom.
Would you considered him or would you have gone tight
end regardless which is where you did go.

Speaker 3 (20:25):
No, that's who I wanted. I kind of wanted to
get Higgins with that pick and then come back and
get the guy who I just went ahead and took,
Kyle Pitts. And I know I'm going to invite scorn
by uttering that name. It's like, you know, you just
anger our show consumers whenever you mentioned Kyle hits name.
But look, he's still only twenty four. This is still

(20:47):
the dude who had the first thousand yard receiving season
by rookie tight end since Mike Ditka sixty years earlier.
I think he could still pop. And I know Zach Robinson,
the Falcons offensive coordinators, talked about maybe expecting a year
two leap from Pitts in his second season in Robinson's offense.
And I do think Michael PENNOCKX Junior is going to

(21:07):
be the tie that lifts all boths. So now I've
got three falcons. Yeah, I'm going hard on the Atlanta offense,
so I need them to come through for me this year.

Speaker 1 (21:16):
And by the way, on Pits, like you took them
with the ninth pick in the ninth round, right, It's
not like you're taking them with a top five round pick.
So I think it's totally like anybody who scoffs at that,
like that's a very reasonable place to take an upside
swing on a guy like Pitts. And then you came
back around after a handful of other picks and took
Zach Sharbonay. So a guy who's a backup. But obviously

(21:37):
the ceiling's pretty strong in any games that Walker is
not playing.

Speaker 3 (21:40):
It is, and you know, like eventually, I think there
is going to be more of a clear runway for
Zach Sharbonay. But I really do hope it's in Seattle
because now that they've got the Clint Kubiak Rick Dennison
combination overseeing that running game, Like wherever the Kubiak Dennison
combination has gone, and it used to be you know
Gary Kubiak back in the day, but like the running

(22:03):
game has popped their zone scheme outside zone like that's
always had success. So I think Seattle's going to have
a pretty good ground game this year. And while I
do like Kenneth Walker, Charbonnay is really talented too.

Speaker 1 (22:20):
Some of the other picks going off the word Calvin
Ridley and then Bogman, you take another running back, that's
your fourth running back, I believe.

Speaker 2 (22:28):
Yeah, I took Brian Robinson again. You know, saqu won
with a lot of carries. Trebon Henderson's rookie. Let's get
ourselves some you know, some veterans behind these guys, just
in case I'm running back. Also very you know flighty
position in terms of injuries, So just make sure I
stack a couple here.

Speaker 1 (22:45):
By now, most of you have probably heard of Reality
Sports Online, the powerful fantasy sports platform where owners get
to build and manage their fantasy team like an NFL
general manager. But the question is, have you tried it?
It's time to go see what all the buzz in
the dynasty community is about. Free agency, multi year contracts
or rookie drafts, multi team trades, franchise tag contract extensions,

(23:05):
first round rookie options, automated contract and salary cap functionality,
and much much more. I think it sounds complicated. It's not.
The best thing about Reality Sports Online Fantasy Front Office
is that it doesn't take any more time than a
standard league. It just requires more strategy. Think you're among
the fantasy elite, Well, this is the platform to test
your metal. Still not sure? You can test out your

Speaker 3 (23:41):
I am on the.

Speaker 1 (23:42):
Clock here in the tenth round. I don't regret really
anyone picks in a vacuum. Taking five combined quarterbacks and
tight ends in the first nine rounds has left me
feeling and I really like my receivers. I don't have
any depth there obviously. The running back is an area
that I kind of opted to not go heavy early.

(24:04):
There's just really not a lot of running backs that
I like, so it's a tough area for RBS. They
really went you know early. I think I'm gonna go
receiver here, get a fourth guy. I'm going to reach
a little further down the rankings and take Jack Besh
because I really like the fit. You know, in a
PPR format, he's gonna catch a ton of patches. I'm

(24:26):
pairing him with Gino Smith, which I actually think would
be a really nice connection for a few years. And
he's depth for me. Right, I have Nico Collins, I
have Brian Thomas Junior, I have Travis Hunter. I'm just
not realizing I have two Jags receivers there. So I
like getting Besh as a really nice I think depth
piece there, Base Chall Tutent and Trey Harris go to
your boy Bogman, a couple of rookies. I did consider
Trey Harris here with my pick, and then Jalen McMillan, Boby,

(24:50):
what do you think about the last few picks while
I make my next one?

Speaker 2 (24:53):
Yeah, I think the Tutin pick makes a lot of
sense for this team. He's going young on these RBS, right,
gent Caleb Johnson Alvin mara is the old guy.

Speaker 1 (25:01):
And then two.

Speaker 2 (25:02):
So he's got a lot of you know, Keon Coleman
one pick.

Speaker 1 (25:07):
In front of me.

Speaker 3 (25:08):
Yeah, that burns man.

Speaker 1 (25:10):
I let him go, knowing one of you guys would
want ke On Coleman, so I was trying to be
I took Trey Benson, by the way, this is just
totally a guy like I liked him last year. I
need another running back. I'm going with kind of a
youth movement. Anyway, Let's see if he bounces back. It's
an opportunity with James Connor another year older. So there's
some risk there for sure. But I didn't love a
lot of the running backs, and I wanted another guy
in there. Bogwin, you go ride receiver, just not Kean Coleman.

Speaker 2 (25:33):
Yeah, I wanted Trey Harris or Keyon Coleman. There as
kind of deciding between both of them, like because I've
thought maybe both of them followed me. Porter took Harrison
Coleman went to Team five right in front of me.

Speaker 1 (25:44):
I went with Jawan Jennings.

Speaker 2 (25:45):
I still think the the floor is very high for
Juwan Jennings, so I think it's a decent risk.

Speaker 1 (25:51):
At this point, Fitz goes with another rookie receiver here,
one that I like quite a bit, and he actually
goes one spot before his real life team Kyle Williams.

Speaker 3 (26:02):
Yes, just I think he has a chance to be
a pretty prolific performer right away for the Patriots, you know,
just like he's so good at creating that instant separation
with his quickness. I think Drake May is going to
love throng to him right away and follow that up

(26:23):
with Ray Davis. I think people who have been listening
to the Dynasty show, no, I am into Ray Davis,
and you know, maybe not the worst thing for his
twenty twenty five value that we've already got James Cook
sitting out of a so called voluntary ota. James Cook
is looking for fifteen million dollars a year, and I
suspect the Bills are not going to pay him fifteen

(26:44):
million dollars a year.

Speaker 1 (26:45):
I was going to say another kind of backup, but
like a high level backup running back, you know, pairing
with Sharbonnay in your backfield there with Ray Davis Bogman.
You now take the older tight end Mark Andrews.

Speaker 3 (26:59):
Yeah, I mean, I just.

Speaker 2 (27:00):
Don't have a starter yet. And Mark Andrews is still
on the board. Yeah, it was just it was waiting
too long to take one. But I mean Mark Andrews.
In the twelfth I also got the seal alert, so
we like.

Speaker 3 (27:14):
It in that one nice, I'm gonna go.

Speaker 1 (27:17):
So my back to back picks here in the twelfth round,
I took Jalen Nole, which is strictly I like the player.
You know, we'll see what the situation ends up looking
like for him in Houston. But I just like the
player in the twelfth round. But I'm gonna pair him
with this other pick, which is the opposite a player
that does not look good recently. But it's strictly the
opportunity based Javonte Williams. It would not surprise me if

(27:37):
a year from now, where he's coming off, I don't
think he's gonna be like that highly valued in Dynasty,
but I wouldn't surprise me if we're coming off a
pretty successful like twenty twenty four JK. Dobbins ESQ season
from Javonte. So I need I need more, you know,
capable players in my backfield. So I'll pair the rookie
with Nol with the opportunity guy in Javonte Williams. That
brings it back to Bogman. And by the way, the

(28:01):
number one pick who waited at quarterback now has four
because he doubles up here on Jackson Dart and shud
Or Sanders. There's an interesting strategy. After passing on one
with the one oh one bagman, who did you take here?
In the thirteenth round? I went with Legette again.

Speaker 2 (28:18):
Computer is just crushing me here. You know I wanted
at this point Blake Koram or Dalton Kincaid were the
two thoughts. I was like, all right, I'll take Mark
Andrews and I'll get Dalon Kincaid, a younger guy later,
and he went one pick in front of me. Blake
korm is the one I wanted, because, of course Kyrine

(28:39):
is a free agent after this season. We know that
McVeigh typically goes with a single back when it works,
So that was the one. But you know what they say,
one one hand, you know the other stuff on the
other hand.

Speaker 1 (28:52):
Fits Your next pick is a guy that I was
strongly considering with my last two picks.

Speaker 3 (28:58):
Marvin Mint. Yes, yeah, so at this point, like this
is where I want to hammer the last of the
good young wide receivers and give myself a lot of
depth there. So yeah, Marvin Mims, I'm just so intrigued
by the talent and the finish he had at the
end of last season, where I think he had like
six touchdowns in his last seven games playoffs included, and

(29:20):
it was just like really prolific even though he was
only playing like between about a quarter and a half
of the offensive snaps. So it's possible he just kind
of remains a gadgety player in Sean mcvay's system, but boy,
he's really good at that. And if they were to
expand his role. I know they drafted Pat Bryant, but man, like,

(29:40):
I am really intrigued by the talent, and Mims is
still really young. I wonder if you know, he could
potentially become a much bigger producer.

Speaker 1 (29:51):
By the way five tight ends go between your picks,
so around where a lot of people are taking them,
and you go with another receiver following up Mems.

Speaker 3 (29:59):
Yeah, yeah, Elkia Manor, and you know, I'm just high
on him, big physical guy, and I kind of like
the landing spot in Tennessee. I think there's a chance
for immediate impacts there.

Speaker 1 (30:09):
Bog went back on the clock here, you got a
few seconds before you make your pick. Who are you
looking at?

Speaker 2 (30:14):
Yeah, I mean, honestly, I don't really like a ton
of what's on the board here right now, so I'm
looking is there a secret quarterback? Probably not. This just
isn't a deep enough league to reach for like a
mill Row or somebody like that, in my opinion. So
I'm just going to go all upside and take my

(30:35):
guy Jalen Royals, who ended up with the Chiefs, and
obviously they're going to be a high passing offense with
Patrick Mahomes for the foreseeable future, so hopefully that's one.

Speaker 3 (30:44):
That pans out. But that is kind of a dart
throw pick.

Speaker 1 (30:46):
Well, I was all set to take with Shaw Bateman
because I think he's finally healthy and actually primed to
have a really good year this year. And he goes
one pick before me in the fourteenth round.

Speaker 3 (30:55):
That's how that feels.

Speaker 1 (30:56):
That's annoying. I think at this point, I'm just going
to take a bunch of young running backs kind of
moving forwards. I'll take get Ins here. I pretty much
want to take like as many rookie running backs and
the last few picks at these startups as I can,
because it was such a great class, and these guys
are falling because not all of them are in ideal
starting spots. But I just want to take swings on

(31:16):
these guys. So get Ins is gonna be the one
I take here first, Mason Taylor and Elijah Royo. So
five no six straight rookie picks Bogmin from your guy
from Porter, but he you know, goes doubles up on
the rookie tight ends here, which I like that strategy. Actually,
I'm back on the clock looking at some of the
young running backs. I'll go Jarquiz Hunter. I know this

(31:38):
is somebody that Dero's really high on and thinks he's
a very explosive fit in that Rams offense. So I
will take Hunter here as another rookie running back. Then
we have Darnold off the board, then Evan Ingram, which
I think is a really good pick a tight end,
and then Bogman back on the clock.

Speaker 3 (31:53):
Man, there's just not a lot here.

Speaker 2 (31:55):
I'm gonna go with Jalen Wright. Obviously, you know, getting
a shot in myami at this point, so I think
he can be a nice compliment to a chan And
if any think it happens to eight.

Speaker 1 (32:06):
Channy's in line for a lot of carries, so Jalen
right off the clock, and then Fitz goes. Another of
these rookie running backs with Woody Marks. Marshawn Lloyd goes next.
I considered him Jonathan Brook's real fall from Grace obviously
due to injury, goes off the board to get a
couple more quarterbacks, and then Fitz. Yeah, I was staring
at Likely for like three rounds, but I already had
two tight ends and I couldn't justify it. The upside

(32:26):
is immense here in the sixteenth round.

Speaker 3 (32:29):
If you look at the numbers he's put up in
games that Mark Andrews has missed like pro rated over
a full season, it works out to like eight hundred
and fifty yards and eleven touchdowns. And Andrews and Likely
their contracts are both up at the end of the season,
so either Andrews gets out of Isaiah Likely's way in
Baltimore or Likely goes somewhere else and has a chance

(32:51):
to be, you know, more of a full time tight end.
So still young, he's shown us the talents, and you
know he's going to be decoupled from Mark Andrews pretty
soon here.

Speaker 1 (33:01):
I thought Bogman should have taken likely honestly, since he
has Andrews.

Speaker 3 (33:07):
I have enough Ravens.

Speaker 1 (33:09):
Yeah, I'm on the clock. I'll take Isaiah Davis. There's
some talk about him getting more use in New York.
We were in the sixteenth round, right, you're just kind
of taking swings anyway, So just another young running back here.
I really like Terrence Ferguson as a final round pick
that was made right before Bogman's. But yeah, there's good
players available. One of my kind of instant takeaways here

(33:29):
as a wait for the final pick to be made,
is I wish I had waited at tight end and
again in a vacuum. I really liked Trey mcbriden in
the fourth and I really like Tyler Warren in the eighth.
Both of those picks I'm very comfortable with. But there
were so many tight ends that fell here that I
think I would have rather gone with a running back
or a wide receiver at that point instead. I want

(33:50):
to dive a little deeper because that was a shorter
episode on your guys' teams, But just right off the bat,
first thought, what was your initial takeaway.

Speaker 3 (33:56):
Fits Yeah, so I know that. Yes, I did tend
to get a lot of players from the same teams,
which I don't really I always kind of go in
not wanting to not planning to win right away, more
of a year two ETA and that's sort of how
I built this team. So there was a heavy emphasis

(34:18):
on youth, and I'm always going to get docked in
the draft analysis for that. I got like a C
minus grade to be expected. But like, I don't know,
I'm pretty happy with the draft. Like waiting on quarterback,
not taking one of the first two rounds, I was
a little anxious about what I was going to end
up with, but I wound up being pretty pleased with

(34:39):
the top three of Trevor Lawrence, Michael Pennix Junior, and
Justin Fields.

Speaker 2 (34:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (34:44):
I think that's pretty workable. What was your initial takeaway, Bogman,
I mean, I was.

Speaker 2 (34:47):
Just surprised at how great the Draft Wizard did to
really hamper some of my draft selections. You know, that
was the thing that stood out to me the most.
But I was happy to get two quarterbacks to start.
Many teams, I think five six teams did that. Yeah,
six teams did two qbs to start I was happy
to get Hurts and Cale Williams, but I also I

(35:09):
love what Fits ended up doing. I like what RFP
ended up doing. Two guys that didn't end up taking
even one quarterback in the first two rounds ended up
with some pretty good rosters here. So I think it
just goes to showing a twelve man you can go
a different way. You can zig while people are zagging.
So but with my team in particular, I like my
running backs, and I like the ones that fell in

(35:30):
Cuba and Brian Robinson coming off the bench, I was
able to take a shot with Jalen Wright.

Speaker 3 (35:34):
That's fine.

Speaker 2 (35:35):
Really like my starters at wide out. You know, it's
kind of reverse. I think Evans has the high floor,
Harrison's a little more risky, and Flowers also has a
high floor. And like you said, I kept getting bounced
out of the tight end that I wanted, and I'm
actually kind of happy that it happened, ending up with
Mark Andrews. And then yeah, I was thinking about potentially
taking one at the bottom there worm, but you know,

(35:58):
there's so many good tight ends that are going to
be on the wire. What's the difference of taking one
at this spot? So I just ended up, you know,
just taking another shot on a white out here. So
I just I think that this was a lot of fun.
I do think that next time we do a mock,
I will break it up, though I probably won't go

(36:18):
QB QB and just see how my team turns out
at that point.

Speaker 1 (36:21):
Yeah, I almost always go to quarterbacks just as a general,
like I do not want to be struggling at the position.
I just I am not comfortable. Like I said earlier,
I'm not comfortable struggling at that position in a superflex dynasty.
It's so hard to crawl out of that hole without
just getting early rookie picks and actually hitting on them.

(36:43):
Obviously getting Josh Allen goes a long way and solid
finding that position, especially at the third pick, Like you
have to be really happy with that, I think, but that,
you know, it was kind of mixing it up for
me to not take a second quarterback until round six.
And you know, again, Bryce Young was running a bit
at the end of last year. He looked better. He
now gets Ted McMillan second year with Dave Canalis. Like,

(37:03):
I actually think there's a real path to Bryce being
like a pretty good I mean him and Alan Paired
I think could be two top eighteen Fantasy Dynasty quarterbacks
if the second half of last year ends up looking legitimate.
There is clearly risk there, but I like it better
than I almost kind of did even in the moment.

Speaker 2 (37:23):
It seems like a good season to be taking more
risk at quarterback with the potential of the class next year.
Obviously a lot to play out, but it seems like
we could get some qbs next year.

Speaker 1 (37:34):
Yeah, so a very kind of fun for me. This
is the type of team that I've built that I
usually do in Dynasty starrups, which is good I think,
but what it really is is going to have some
longevity and some ability to build on it in the future,
because running back would clearly be my weak spot. In fact,
I believe in our analysis that Fantasy pros sent to

(37:57):
us I am twelfth at the position at run But
what I do have there is youth at running back,
so a lot of room for maybe some upward mobility
in the rankings this year, some things go right, and
a chance to really hammer the position in future rookie
drafts to kind of hopefully have that be the missing
piece along with what I think is a pretty elite
starting point of Josh Allen, Brian Thomas Junior, Nico Collins, Tree,

(38:20):
Mcbrian Travis Hunter. Like that, I'm really happy with that
top five as long as I can then add to
running back in the future, even if looking back in hindsight,
I might have gone in a different direction. Fits were
there any teams that stand out to you that you
really liked what they did that weren't yours?

Speaker 3 (38:36):
I was pretty fascinated by what our friend RFP did
in the number one spot. So he of his sixteen picks,
ten of them were rookies, including his last seven picks,
and by the way, I should point out his last
three picks all rookie tight ends. Didn't have a tight
end until round fourteen, finished with Mason Taylor, Elijah Arroyo,

(38:58):
and Harold Fan ro Darts. So yeah, and like he
passed on quarterbacks in the first three rounds, took Dak
Prescott in the fourth, to a tongue of Vailoa in
the seventh, and then back to back in the twelfth
and thirteenth Jackson Dart and Shador Sanders. So like, he

(39:18):
closed that door pretty quickly after he left it open
for three rounds and you know, and like then the
talent he got at the top Jamar Chase Pukinaku and
t Higgins at wide receiver, Ashton Genty, Caleb Johnson, Alvin Kamara,
Basehaal Twoton at running back, Like I thought RFP killed
it in this draft, and he's got a young roster

(39:40):
that would compete for a long time.

Speaker 1 (39:43):
I thought he was. He was one of my favorite traft.
There's a lot of drafts where it's like I really
like three of the first four picks, but I didn't
like one of the four, and it like kind of
knocks it down for me a little bit. There was
a lot of drafts that I was like, oh, they
just gotten a different player in that one spot. I
would be a much bigger fan of this. I like
Bogman's team, you know, obviously, like with guys like Saquon

(40:06):
gonna Be and Mike Evans, you know, more of a
win now. But I mean, you have Jalen Hurts Caleb
if he takes that step forward, like you should win now, right,
Like it's not, you know, it's not like you're an
old team that's not even competitive, right, You'll be competitive
year one in the league. If we were playing this out.

Speaker 2 (40:22):
Yeah, even if my risks, you know, like even if
Trey Henderson doesn't work out, you know, I could put
Chuba Hubbard in that spot. I can put Brian Robinson.

Speaker 3 (40:32):
In that spot.

Speaker 2 (40:32):
And I have some vets on the bench as well.
So yeah, I think this is a nice win now team.
I wasn't sure that that was gonna be my build,
because when you get Hurts and Williams, you can go
any direction from that. But it was really the combo
of gent Bauers and Nico Collins going in front of me,
and then Drake London one pick in front of me.

(40:55):
I was like, okay, well, I can take some of
these running back said are risky. Saquon is just not risky.
Maybe with the four hundred touches for this season he's risky,
it's just not risky overall though, So it was between
him and Garret Wilson, I just thought Barkley was a
better investment. So that's kind of what sparked me to
kind of push the chips in for this season for
this team.

Speaker 3 (41:15):
I liked your Anthony Richardson pick in the ninth round,
like that, that's a pretty good discount on a guy
who we thought would be, you know, a couple of
years ago, would probably be a first round pick by
the time he got to his third NFL season, And
you know, just just to show how lightly what little
regard some people have for him, I mean, worm took

(41:38):
Gino Smith several picks before you took Anthony Richardson in
this draft.

Speaker 1 (41:43):
Part of that was based on who I who else
I had on my team, right, Because yeah, I already
had Bryce Young. I didn't want to go risky with
my third quarterback. Also, I wanted a guy that I'm
more confident is going to be very playable for a
few years, whereas Richardson might literally never start a game
for me.

Speaker 2 (42:00):
I think in your situation, Geno was probably the correct pick.
It's just you don't want to be in the situation
where you have to pick Gino, right, Like, That's just
that's what it is. That's why we do mocks, right
to see what we like and when we do like.
What I'll say about Porters team is that positional players
are gonna be great. I would never want to be
in the scenario that he is a quarterback. It's Dak
who missed games last season. It's two of who misses

(42:22):
games every season. We don't know when Jackson starts gonna play,
and we don't know if shadorg Sanders is gonna play.
So I really like the way he built the roster,
but it's in super flex. It's just so important to
your foundation needs to be from at least one QB
spot if not.

Speaker 3 (42:39):
In fairness, though, that's not a contend in year one team,
No it's not. No, he's he's built that team to
be a more uh you know, it's somewhere between winning
year two and productive struggle.

Speaker 1 (42:50):
Right. Interestingly, because the quarterbacks are older, it kind of
is a win net, like like those guys aren't young,
but you're right, the other the all like you know,
Jen's rookie, Puka and Chase are young, like the other
positions are.

Speaker 2 (43:04):
It's one of those teams where it's like, hey, look
if my quarterbacks are rolling and we're making this work.
We're making it work and it's perfect, right. But if
if the young guys kind of fall through or the
quarterbacks aren't working, now I can take Tua and trade
him because a quarterback is gonna be worth more in
a super flex league dak is gonna be worth more
in a super flex league, so at.

Speaker 1 (43:25):
Least he has assets to move if.

Speaker 2 (43:28):
It all does come crumbling down this year.

Speaker 1 (43:30):
I can't fit too highly of Trusted Venom's team because
he only has one quarterback. It is Mahomes. But I
like a like. I like Neighbors in round two. I
like mcconkee round four, I like the Porter round five,
I like a Guka round seven. I like a lot
of deals Jaden Higgins like. I'm a big fan of
a lot of the individual picks, even if the lack

(43:51):
of the second quarterback I think is a real significant issue.

Speaker 2 (43:55):
I think James Connor in the tenth you know, I
know he's an old VET running back, but that's why
hoping I would get one where I took Brian Robinson,
I thought that was one of the better values on
the board.

Speaker 1 (44:04):
Yeah, I ended up with a B plus. By the way,
one of my favorite parts about doing mock drafts of
Fantasy pros is getting such a detailed analysis afterwards. So
I got a B plus. It was swore me an
eighty eight out of one hundred and looking at the
projected standings in this fake you know, mock league, I'm
fourth place, Bogman is first, actually fits is from eleventh place.

Speaker 3 (44:27):
I'm a builder man. I always go for the future starters.

Speaker 1 (44:32):
Wise, it actually has me third, Bogman sixth, FI tenth,
and then the bench Bogman first, fits ninth, Me tenth.
You look at some of the expert opinions. Derek Brown, obviously,
our colleague Debro liked my draft best, so that you know,
he's pretty good with the rookies. I you know, he
liked the least he liked. He liked Hunter, R J.

(44:55):
Harvey and Besh for me, all rookies, surprisingly or you know, unsurprisingly.
Some of the guys that did not like my draft.
Scott Pianowski is a big one. He didn't like the
Trey McBride pick, or Bryce Young, Joe Rico, some other
names in there as well. And then look, you can
look at the steals and reaches on here. It actually

(45:16):
says I didn't have any steals. I did have a
couple of value picks, and it gave me a couple reaches,
slight reaches, not big ones. But the other thing that
it does for those who haven't used the Mock Draft
simulator before is it tells you where you could have
gone back and changed your team. So for me, it says,
rather than take Gino Smith, you could have taken Brian

(45:36):
Robinson Junior there, and then in your pick later where
you got jar Quis Hunter, you could have taken Sam Darnold. Now,
I like the upside of a guy like Hunter, and
I'm worried about Darnald in Seattle. But it can show
you where your score would have gone up drastically with
some of these different picks. And that's another cool thing.
You're looking at team strengths and everything. So a really
detailed breakdown, which I really enjoy about doing these. Another

(45:57):
final thoughts, Bogman before we get out of here.

Speaker 2 (45:59):
I was just wondering too, was in first by forty
one points?

Speaker 1 (46:02):
Yeah that we already said it.

Speaker 2 (46:04):
Oh okay, I just just want to make sure. Yeah,
mine just interesting. And this is why we mock right,
to see what you like and what you don't like.

Speaker 3 (46:13):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (46:13):
If we do another one, I promise I will do
a not a win now team. I will do a
build team. And I think Fitz should have to do
a win now team in Dynasty, just so we can
swap places here.

Speaker 3 (46:26):
First time for everything, that's right.

Speaker 1 (46:27):
I will I will get on board with that and
say I will do a no quarterbacks in the first
three rounds, which I am not comfortable with, but just
to mix it up and see you want.

Speaker 2 (46:36):
To see worms sweat on the next I will well,
maybe I'll say not in the first two rounds.

Speaker 1 (46:41):
I'll wait till my third pick to take play. Okay,
I don't think I can do three rounds. I left
my toes would curl at the thought of it fits
any other final thoughts.

Speaker 3 (46:49):
You know, super Flex Draft twelve of the first fifteen
picks quarterbacks, No surprise there. Brock Powers didn't go until
early in the third round. I thought that was kind
of crazy value. And Nico Collins also went early third
to you worm Ashton genty early third. So man, these
startup mox like there is some really intriguing young talent

(47:13):
enticing like top level young talent going all the way
into the third round, if not.

Speaker 1 (47:18):
Later, maybe even into the fourth. Yeah, like lad.

Speaker 3 (47:20):
Marvin Harrison and Ladd McConkie and Jackson Smith.

Speaker 1 (47:24):
Like all three of those guys going mid fourth. You know,
ea Tet going late fourth. I think he could be
a big step up. So Yeah, there was a lot
of early picks where there were some values there because
of what you just said, the fact that so many
quarterbacks go early that guys like Genty and Nico and
and Bowers are now falling to the third round where
maybe they wouldn't have otherwise. So it's a good observation.

(47:47):
We'll go ahead and wrap things up there. Again, I
really can't recommend people enough to use the draft simulator.
It looks awesome this year, as it does every year,
and you get these really cool breakdowns, so like and
that's not even like I would I would use it
even if I didn't work here. It's I think it's
a great feature that they really optimize every year. So
shouts to our dev team and product folks there for
Bogman and Fitz, I'm Ryan Wrling. Thanks everybody for tuning in.
