do that today and giveaways all year long. My friends
so absolutely love it. Speaking of just real quick on
the Bubba Chandler stuff. You know, we joked aside, bo
Chandler was pretty impressive this weekend because what was that
was that Saturday or was that Friday?
Speaker 2 (02:01):
Right now?
Speaker 1 (02:01):
Completely for yeah, it was Friday night and he came
in relief after Braxton Ashcraft to watch the whole thing.
You know, big fastball. I think his first strikeout came
in at over one hundred. He was you know, he
was heavy fastball, slider. He was getting whiffs. It's the Rockies.
I don't want to be dismissive of it. It's like
the first was it like rookie ever to get a
save in their first appearance? Like it was just you know,
(02:23):
some ridiculous stuff. He had big swinging with stuff. He
looked great for the most part, but it was a
little like this is against a team that he should dominate.
He was getting away with a few things. But I mean,
I would say, like better than I thought it was
going to be Bubbs because I really had no interest
in Bubba Chandler whatsoever anymore, even though I was like
(02:44):
big pro Bubba Chandler, just because I didn't know what
it was going to look like. But I think it
was really encouraging more to me for next season. Did
you have any different thoughts on Chandler's debut?
Speaker 2 (02:53):
No, pretty similar when they called him up and said
he's out of the bullpen, and I kind of lost
most interest at that point in time. And you know,
if they're going to make him a piggyback guy, that'd
be great. But that didn't you know, come to fruition
on Friday time. We'll tell on that one. If you
look at the Pirates rotation this week, there's still an
opening which would line up with his day of rest,
So throwing that out there, we'll kind of see how
that plays out. But very impressed with what he did.
(03:14):
It was the Rockies and hopefully he can build off
for this and get us ready for twenty twenty six,
where I'll be much more interested.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
Agreed, Agreed, boom. Shout out by the way to Chris James,
good morning. Took all year but finally made a live show.
And Chris has got a question here in a little bit,
and we will get to that shortly. All right, let's
get to the show sheet. Let's get to the stuff.
Cal Rawley three for five with the pair of homers
this well on Sunday, I'll say this weekend, but Sunday
four RBI in their win tie the MLB record for
(03:41):
the most homers in a season by a catcher where
he hit that four fifty and then he broke it
where he hits another another one, twenty eight year old
forty nine homers, one hundred and six rbi, also fourteen
stolen bases. You know, I saw somebody put out there
the record for most homers by position, and once cow
gets one more homer, there's only one position of all
(04:05):
the starting positions that has not hit fifty or more homers.
Can you just you get one guess? Can you guess
which position? I would say second base nailed it. That's
the only one that has never had a fifty home
run hitter. They had forty five was the most ever.
So second base could tell you need to get on
it and get but that'll be the uh yeah, the
(04:28):
next one that's going to get their cal rally. Season
continues to just go ballistic and you know, hands up
like I've been waiting. I do think there's an element
of the shoe kind of dropping a little bit, like
his averages dipped below to fifty, but like nothing where
you get to be like I told you, he was
going to like, you know, fall off. Like he's not
falling off. It's just his average is becoming susceptible. Since
(04:50):
the break, he struggled hitting like consistently, but when he does,
he's just rocketing the stuff out here. You just did
your and I don't even know what you guys call it, Like,
I know you guys have a name for it, but
it's like way too early of a draft. Like there's
one thing to do a draft for next season at
the end of the year. You guys do it at
the end of August. So you do like eleven rounds
(05:12):
and then you do the rest. I don't remember if
it's either at first Pitch Arizona or if it's like
the following like spring training, but you do like.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
Just online when the when the draft rooms open on the.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
PC oh, like in like November or December.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
Yeah, it turns into a slow draft.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
Yeah, okay, yeah, so that's what it is. So eleven rounds,
where do cal go? Do you recall that in that
draft middle round two? Do you think that's correct?
Speaker 2 (05:35):
I wouldn't. Like I took King William at the end
of round three, which is still early for catchers, but
that's a whole different discussion. Point I count I think
it's very good. I think it's an argument to be
number one. I think the averager scene drip down, which
is normal for him, but the power is legit. I
don't think he's a fifty five to sixty home run
guy every season, and catchers can get banged up so quickly.
(05:56):
It scares me to take a second round catcher. Look
at Williams. He's having a great season, but he's playing
with the fractured finger all season because he's a catcher.
So it's a little early for my liking.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
I feel like every time we get to the catcher
going in the second round, it's where they fail, like
and it goes back to Gary Sanchez. Remember when Gary
pushed all the way up to a second rounder fail
William contrere. So it's not a second rounder but pushed
up to the third. I always have a hard time
paying the exorbitant price of a catcher. I never will,
so I shouldn't even say I have a hard time
to I never will. And I'll probably have them all ranked.
(06:29):
I'll still have col ranked lower. But it's just, you know,
that is what it is. Cal's loveability is how low
he was drafted. You know we're going out at least
outside the top one hundred, as are most catchers, you know,
playing catchers, you guys picked up off the wire, if
it was maybe even an Ivan Herrera or Gustin Ramirez.
But he's been awesome. He's going to crack that fifty
homer marker, and he hit two this weekend off a
(06:51):
Jacob Lopez, by the way, who we'll talk about a
little bit in a not good segment in that same game, though,
Logan Gilbert awesome outing, thirteen strikeout, six innings, one ball,
probably the best start of the year for him and
what has been relatively I shouldn't. I don't know if
I want to call it disappointing, but like I mean,
I remember like Cardi was like best bet of the season,
Logan Gilbert have the most wins, Like I think there
(07:12):
were some really high expectations Bubba and Gilbert. He's definitely
taken a little step back, but there's I think there's
some injury stuff or whatever. This is probably his best outing.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
By far, his best outing. And before this outing, I
got like goes something on Twitter or something I saw
and massive home road splits. The ballpark does have wonders
in Seattle, and he dealt again on this weekend, as
you mentioned, so good on him. Hopefully he can figure
out the road ways. But it's nice to get a
little glimpse of what we were hoping for entering the season.
Speaker 1 (07:43):
Was that like it? I want to look? Was that
the same lasher so the home road splits ud See
this two one five home era with a point seven whip.
He has a six ERA on the road with a
one point five four more than double whip on the road.
And I'm looking last year. Last year, yeah, two four
(08:05):
nine at home with a three nine to four on
the road. Both whips were under one the road, So like, yeah,
he gets hit a little bit more on the road
at least last year. I'm gonna just do one more.
Look in twenty thirteen, see now two thousand or two thirteen,
twenty twenty three was the opposite. He was actually better
on the road. So that's a I don't know that
(08:25):
to me, that's a little abnormal, like obviously though, but
I'm saying, like I'm not sure if the believability with
all the stuff with him this year. His k percentage
is up way up this season thirty four percent from
twenty seven. He is giving up some more barreled contact,
but I don't know. I'm looking at the rest of
the stuff, like doesn't look crazy. I mean, he's definitely
(08:47):
the top two pitches. He's just giving up way more
batting average against two thirty eight against his four seam,
two fifty two against his slider. Last season that was
two h five against his four seam and two ten
against his slider. And the only other thing to point
out is it looks like just kind of scrapped a
lot of the rest of the stuff. He was a
little more mixed. Last year, he threw his slider more
(09:08):
than his fastball. This year he's throwing his fastball more.
It doesn't matter, they're about the same, but he's kind
of become a three pitch pitcher. Where last year he
threw five pitches ten percent or more of the time,
this year that's only three pitches. So it's fastball, slider, splitter.
He's just kind of consolidated. And I'm not sure the
results have been awesome outside of like last night was
pretty pretty great, and I think Gilbert went I was
(09:31):
looking at your guys' draft too. I think Gilbert went
above de Grom if I remember correct, or maybe right
after de Groham because Bog and I were having a
de Graham conversation and I think Gilbert was like right
in that space of like second or maybe third round.
Does that sound about right, Bubba?
Speaker 2 (09:49):
Look good? Right? Yeah, Gilbert went the fourth pick a
round three to Grom went with the tenth pick in
round three.
Speaker 1 (09:56):
Okay, yeah, so he did go ahead, So you get
Gilbert pushing that together another and not to you know,
completely hijack. We joked about an I tail because we
did a couple of references and we're like, just everyone's
going to hijack your guys. Awesome draft. As for money, yeah,
well it's talking about values and stuff like that.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
There's the going is in September, so it makes.
Speaker 1 (10:15):
Yeah, exactly as long as people give you guys credit
for it. This is one. This is probably I think
the most prolific thing that happened in your guy's draft
was Junior Camonaro. Junior Cameraro went in the first round
of your draft to Okay, so this will be perfect
because yesterday. Do you ever have these moments like we
do baseball shows. We did baseball all year long, but
sometimes your brain isn't just clicked intoto something I've been
(10:37):
watching Camano the whole year, but like I saw the
thing and I was like, thirty seven thirty seven in
a row. He hit thirty seven home if you get
the bit. I was like, that number, that's not right.
It's like, it isn't thirty seven right now, it is
thirty seven. He hit a grand slam, his thirty seventh homer.
For whatever reason, the homers had not clicked to me
(10:58):
his second rear grand slam, and then I thought this
was interesting. Cammonaro's thirty seventh homer moved him past twenty
year old Alex Rodriguez and into a tie with Albert
Poolhols for sixth place all time for most homers in
a season of a twenty one or younger player. Next
would be this is, by the way, hat tip to
(11:19):
Rotal World for putting this on. Frank Robinson had thirty
eight and nineteen fifty six. The record is forty seven
by Eddie Matthews in nineteen fifty three. So junior Cameronaro
has obviously been otherworldly. The homers just like came back
to me. Like what you look at his spray chart,
just beautiful all across everywhere. It's not just pull side,
(11:40):
dead center, opposite field. He just puts it absolutely everywhere.
Hard hit numbers are over fifty. He's raised his barrel percentage,
his launch angle's gone up, like young guys learning to
get the ball up in the air. That has happened.
He has been incredible. Obviously, outside of him just being incredible,
you took him at like eight or nine or something
in there. Talk to us about pulling the trigger on
(12:04):
Cam and Arow as like a heavy first round pick,
and especially because this is going to carry over into
next season.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
Yeah, it was pick twelve of round one, and I
love them for multiplely. I love them this year and
I was all in with my early drafts and then
the ADP went up. I did the foolish thing of
oh I love them, but I'm not going to pay
the price thing and that that's backfired. But it's a
combination of the youth that you were mentioned there. He's
or twenty two now technically he turned twenty two in July.
(12:32):
Still like uber talented that the skills have carried over.
I wish he stole a little more. The power's legit,
like watching him at home runs in San Francisco, Like
people will say Oh, it's the ballpark. Now, this kid
can hit. It's insane. So when you look at a
third base position, that's pretty rough, as we've probably discussed
multiple times on all of our shows this season. After
you get past Jay Ram who gives you the steals,
(12:54):
I don't I see a better ceiling for cam and
Arow than say a Manny Machado or an Austin Riley
who's always heard or that next level of third basemen.
So I just wanted to lock that. Like, both corner
infield spots are not ideal at the peak going to
twenty twenty six, so I wanted to circle Cambonaro and
get potentially forty plus homers in one hundred rbiyes.
Speaker 1 (13:14):
Yeah. The only thing I guess, like those guys, I
agree with you, but those guys are pretty common second
round picks. Yeah, I guess like he probably would have
felt easier if it was in the second round versus
the first round. But at the same time, you wanted
to lock it up because there's an argument to be said,
like you know, you're you're sacrificing those stolen bases, like
that's just not going to be a part of his game.
(13:34):
You're also kind of sacrificing batting average because as great
as he's been two fifty five average on the season,
his expected batting average two sixty three, which is pretty nice.
The hitting profiles great, but like he looks like he's
a two sixty thirty five home run hitter. First round,
like if you want elite power, But we also made
a big argument that like you want like elite power
and drafts this year maybe over some stolen bases. And
(13:55):
by the way, now I'm thinking about this, were they
counting this number as like you started the season, because
you're right, Cameron Aro is twenty two. That retal World
ride up that was giving them credit for is like, hey,
twenty one or younger, But he's twenty two, So I'm
not sure what the logistics of all of that are.
So hat tip to Alex Rodriguez for hitting all those homers,
but he was younger than cam and Aro.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
And real quick, I'll give a little hindsight. My second
round pick was Francisco Lindoor. I was debating the two
of them at one, So in theory, I could add
Camanaro in round two and it would like your point
would have been a lot. It would have just like looked, Yeah,
I just wanted to get my guys essentially, is what
it came down to.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
But you might not. Yeah, you might not have gotten them.
You know. That's that's the weird thing. But Camaro, I mean,
Camerano is gonna walk out of this with a forty
home run season, like his profiles, absolutely ridiculous in what
he's done. A couple more breakdowns and we're gonna get
your guys' questions. You guys are loading them up, so
hang tight. Here Shoho Tani forty fifth homer of the season.
As the Dodgers beat the Padres. Padres had been rocking
(14:52):
the I think the Padres had the division currently right
or did that flip them After the Dodgers win, I.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
Think the dog's still slightly up, changing every four seconds.
Speaker 1 (15:01):
It feels like, yeah, well, I mean you look at
like the Al East has been crazy, so it is. Yeah, yeah, okay,
so they're tied. That's why I wasn't sure like widget
direction it went too so seventy four and fifty seven,
both teams just sitting there, just a ridiculously awesome sc series.
There's some pretty great baseball to be had. By the way,
in September for everybody. You got that AL East Race,
(15:23):
You've now got the NL West Race, like it's some
crazy stuff. Race not is good with the Cubs, But
I put this in here. Kyle Tucker three for five
two homers five RBIs on Saturday, was another one for
three on Sunday. This literally on the heels Bubba of
Boggs and I being like, listen, Tucker is just you
(15:45):
might not start him. I don't think we're cutting him,
but like you had the hand fracture, he seemed lost.
You worry about suppression of power and production. Everything had
been mounting really bad for a while with Tucker, and
then it just explad loaded this weekend with that three
for five two homer output. So I'm super encouraged. I
(16:05):
never wanted anyone to cut him, but I definitely was like,
you need to put Tucker on the bench until something
gets back. Are you comfortable that like he's John Wick?
Like I'm thinking he's back.
Speaker 2 (16:15):
I'm going to roll that out there unless I have
a better option, which most teams you wanted the better
option than Kyle Tucker.
Speaker 1 (16:21):
But what if it was like Jacob Marcy, who's been
really good, I.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
Might exact if the matchups are right, just to get
Tucker a little more. But the weirdest thing about the
Tucker deal you guys probably discussed this is like they
mentioned he had the fracture in June, and then he
takes the three days off, like all the fractures healed,
He's back now. I guess it was such a weird dynamic,
Like I think I actually had him sitting this past
weekend when he went off to make it worth everyone's while.
(16:45):
But if he's healthy and we're seeing what we saw
this weekend, it's tough to sit him because that talent
is elite.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
Yeah, And I think like because of what he's done now,
like I'm comfortable with it, but I was walking in
as like, oh, I'm going to probably sit him for
some time. I think after this weekend seeing that like
he can still get you know, can still turn the
wrists over, you know, he still has some power. Like
I'm like, this could be the carryover for his confidence.
That makes me feel a lot better. So I'm back
(17:13):
on it. But it was like literally on the heels
of bog and I just like trashing Kyle Tucker. Were like,
all right, this is done. You know contract whatever, blah
blah blah, but he went off. Paul Skeins allowed three
hits over seven innings in a win, a rare win.
He now has eight wins. Buba, when he wins his
cy Young will he have double digit wins. He now
(17:33):
has one month to pick up two more wins.
Speaker 2 (17:38):
That means he's got four to five starts. Probably, I'm
gonna say no.
Speaker 1 (17:43):
I don't think he does either. I want I love
chaos in baseball. I love chaos in sports like I'm
the guy that roots for the team to like go
win like the Lions, like many years ago, I wanted
them to go winless. I want the voters, those awesome
prestigious voters. I want them to have to vote for
a nine wins cy Young winner, regardless of all. And
(18:04):
I hope people be like, oh, wounds or Okay, that's fine,
then vote. I want nine wins for Paul Skins to
be in there, totally for it. But Boroh shutout against
the Rockies. Another pitcher that has been good and struggled
with some wins, but it's only been good for a
short period of time. Just wanted to point this out.
Zach Gallen kind of refound himself a little bit. His
(18:24):
pre All Star post All Star numbers still don't look
that much better. You know, he's got like a four
to three nine era post All Star break. That's a
little bit better. But here's the big one. Since the
trade deadline, Zach Gallon has four or five starts, going
six innings, four quality starts. He has not given up
(18:45):
obviously more than three earned runs. Strikeouts have been a
little bit wonky, but he looks like him again. He
looks like himself. Three point one zero August era, a
one point one four whip. It's like vintage Zach Gallon.
You're gonna I mean, I think it sounds trustworthy the
rest of the way through for this season, But are
(19:05):
you gonna buy it all a little bit into next year?
Speaker 2 (19:08):
If the dip is what I'm hoping it is. Yeah,
Like I remember talking with you at the beginning of
the season. In one of my auctions, I got him
for like nine bucks and I was pumped. Obviously that
did not pan out so well, but it's a fifteen
team league. So I've held him and I've used him
in August. It's been great. So I'm with you. There's
there's signs of life. He's going to be thirty one
next year. It's not like he's old old. He had
that crazy workload for a few years. Maybe he's just
(19:30):
needed a little breather, and I think there's something there,
especially if the dip is what I think it's gonna be.
Speaker 1 (19:36):
I kind of think not that this matters like for
fantasy or anything. I kind of think he might re
sign like a one year, you know, like they're gonna
tender him. I think they have to tender him. The thing.
I think he might sign that play one year out
with the Diamondbacks to get a deal, because I don't
think he's lined up where he's gonna get one of
those big I mean, I could be wrong. You know,
he finishes strong and then people are like, yeah, you're
(19:57):
gonna we want you for a hundred million. I just
I wonder if he stays at home with this team,
signs the one year and tries to get his big contract,
just to point out there, and then the final on
the big pieces of news. Vinie pas Quentino, by the way,
just big power lately, hitting hit homer on Sunday and
he is now have nine homers in his last thirteen games,
(20:18):
the guy with the you know, the nice contact rates,
the walk race, he's just turned it on and he's
going to be a thirty plus homer and hitter this season,
is going to be relatively valuable into next year. First
base looking a lot lot better next season with Nick
Kurtz added to the list, Pass Quentino moving up. I mean, hell,
you're going to get a ghost and Ramirez is a
(20:39):
player that's going to be in there as well. Let's
answer some of your guys' questions that are floating out
there as we got through the headlines. Shout out to
Chris James, first time chatting in here are we starting
Strider today? He's killed my ERA lately, and I don't
think this break is going to fix the issues. So
what say you? I always I see Strider's name, I
saw Striyder's name today looking through the bets and stuff,
and you know, had my temptations, but I'm kind of
(21:02):
moving away from it. ERA is over five right now,
K percentage is down. Expected numbers are a little bit better,
but it's nothing sexy. And since the All Star break
he has an eight point one three ERA and a
fifteen ERA in August so will today be the day Bubba?
Speaker 2 (21:21):
It's Marlins, So you hope you have a shock there,
but it's a million times dependent on your format. Not
going to deny that, but I'm sitting like I've been
out on starting to begin with. So I would personally
sit him. I know in our discord for Bubba and
the Bloom people are legit asking should we pick him
up because he's been dropped in a qulty league and
it was like fifty to fifty, So I'd sit him.
Speaker 1 (21:42):
Yeah, I think he's droppable too if if your league
warrants it. You know what I'm saying, Like, if it's
a league where there's nothing out there, I got a
couple of those where it was like, you know, Jansen junk,
like okay, the no, but you know, if there's like viable,
like you know, you go and look in four or
five guys who are starting today available on the wire,
ten teams and stuff like that, Like he's not infallible anymore.
(22:04):
He unfortunately we're out of that for this season, so
he definitely is. Is Cad Smith falling off? Yeah? Maybe,
but he's the option so it doesn't really matter, right.
Speaker 2 (22:14):
Yeah, he's the guy that's there, So you either roll
with it or you go and pick up Justin Topa
or Jose Ferir or something like that.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
I'm rocking with him. What should I do with James Wood?
Drop him? Man? We've had like multiple iterations of this
James Wood thing, like from like a month ago, and
he just never found himself. James Wood has now dipped
his average down to two fifty eight, twenty six homers,
fifteen stolen bases. On the surface, that looks really good,
but he has hit just two oh two since the
(22:42):
All Star break, one eighty eight in July, a little
bit better in June and August hitting two thirty five.
So same thing. Is this like a ten team? You
could move off of him?
Speaker 2 (22:54):
Is I?
Speaker 1 (22:56):
I feel like with Tucker you just get him on
the bench, Like do you guys have been when everyone
asked like should I drop? Do you not have a
bench spot? Like go put him on the bench. There's
no chance or bench is that much better if you
can go pick up you know. I'll use Marci again
as the example of like just a really hot bat
that's in the outfield, go do that. But I would
prefer to bench James Wood and maybe the question is
(23:17):
should I not start James Wood, And then I think
the answer is yes, should I drop him? I don't know, Like,
I think he's probably better than most bench options out there,
unless it's like a you know, lower ten team league.
What do you think?
Speaker 2 (23:28):
Agreed, he's safely in four of his last five games,
like he might have just been in a funk, and
he has a skills to have a monster September, so
I would not be dropping the gather games. But you're
not going to find his skill set on the waiver wire.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
Now, this is bound to happen. This is and I
saw CALLI put this in here. We do a lot
of Twitch stuff on here, and we were all baseball
all year and then we moved into some football. So Bobby,
you want to rate his fantasy football team on the
Baseball Podcast, I'll do it real quick. From epr CD,
(24:00):
Lamar Jacobs, Kyri and Garrett Wilson. I don't like your receivers.
I like everything else, I don't like your receivers. Rate
my team. Please. It is a baseball show, so shout
out to all the great football content we have got
on Twitch. Let's yeah, let's start up the schedule. Monday's, Tuesday's, Wednesdays, Thursday, Friday.
Monday through Friday, we are here four pm Eastern for
(24:21):
best Balls. Today. We got the Q and A's on
at two pm Eastern, Seth and Debro. Wednesdays at Seth
and Debro again at two pm Eastern, and then Thursdays
and Fridays five pm. We have got just kind of
rotating analysts on there. I think I'm on the YouTube
this week, not on Twitch, but we got a whole
bunch of stuff for the fantasy football to help you out.
We're on fantasy baseball and that's okay. I answered that
(24:42):
you need depth a wide receiver though hundred percent the
Big Dance. Would love to ask Joey p if you'd
rather have Strider or Lighter right now? Would Lighter push
the envelope a little bit for you?
Speaker 2 (24:53):
There?
Speaker 1 (24:54):
Where are you on?
Speaker 2 (24:54):
Jack Lighter?
Speaker 1 (24:55):
Is Jack Lighter the biggest pile of trash because of Nepoti?
Him and his three eight one e ra is not
real like Joe would say, or do you think he's
a real boy.
Speaker 2 (25:05):
He's a real boy. That's It's shocker. Young kids developed.
It takes some time, but he's actually showing that of late.
Speaker 1 (25:13):
Development. Crazy.
Speaker 2 (25:14):
It's crazy how that works. Right, Well, you understand as
a prospect guy, but you get the questions I get
him on my show. It's just like guy's patience. You
got to be patient. These guys are young. If he
didn't have that last name, this wouldn't be as big
of an issue.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
Yeah, well, it's funny. It's that the last name is
the issue for Joe that's come up here. But yeah, Judge, is.
Speaker 2 (25:33):
He having New York PTSD?
Speaker 1 (25:35):
I guess, but I mean, you know, to be fair,
the thing that always gets messed up for us in
those conversations is like there are stuff like Lighter has
been maybe streamable, you know, and he's got warts like
his walks are too high and his expected dra is
kind of high, but he's got a three eighty ra
A And then Joe goes in that like, you know,
he wouldn't even be a pitcher in baseball, blah blah blah,
(25:57):
and it's like, dude, it's like one of the most
prolific college pitchers you know at that time, and he's
got a good fastball slider combination that hasn't worked until now,
where he's better than Strida right now, two weeks until playoffs,
and I can snag one Grisham Jodell or Yo Stixon,
yoh Stixon Garcia. I've done the pronunciation and then like
(26:17):
I start to say Jostixon Garcia. I think that's it?
Speaker 2 (26:20):
Is that what it is because Baseball Reference as Joe's Tenson.
Speaker 1 (26:24):
So he does a video where he says it out loud,
so their pronunciation maybe, but there's a video online you
can do I trust yes, Well no, I mean I'm
an idiot, so you probably don't want to trust me
like a ton, especially with this type of stuff. But
I do, like try to do the research. He goes
in and it might be like just Dixon, but that's
how he he says it on there. But regardless the
(26:48):
password Grisham or Joe Adell, I'm gonna say Jodell.
Speaker 2 (26:51):
I'm a Joe Adelle, true through and through and this
year's finally making me feel good about that.
Speaker 1 (26:54):
So yes, yep, one hundred. So it's championship week. It's
a daily lineup category league. Do you start every picture
regardless of matchup asking because I have Hunter Green against
the Dodgers and Sang against the Phillies. Well, that's not
just like every.
Speaker 2 (27:07):
Yeah, that's a different type of situation.
Speaker 1 (27:09):
Yeah, you start those guys. You don't start every picture
of those guys. I think I would still I.
Speaker 2 (27:14):
Always start Hunter Green one hundred percent. I can understand
he's been like a fifty to fifty toss up in Phillies'
offense is great, but Hunter Green, that's a yeah, you
just ride that one out.
Speaker 1 (27:23):
Okay, let's do uh. I think like one more who
that had said, since we're talking about Cameron Aro, would
you rather cam and Aro in the six or Cheerio twelve?
Speaker 2 (27:32):
I take Cheero on the twelve. That's that's six round?
Values too much, way too much?
Speaker 1 (27:36):
Yeah, I mean even if they were the same round,
I might still say Cheerio, but with value, like no.
Speaker 2 (27:44):
Doubt, just real quick, because you're the prospect guy. I've
thought looking at Cherio after last year, like if we
ever see another wrong with the Cunya type, he's it
right now? Do you do you kind of see that?
Speaker 3 (27:52):
Or no? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (27:53):
Yeah, no, I agree with that. I mean there are
some guys floating out there that could be like him,
but one hundred percent, and you know what's funny enough
is like I think Churio's in Kunya now have the
same agent I think anybody and stuff like that. So
and they're friends and every Yeah, but there's a lot
I mean, Acunya has got there's a little bit more
explosiveness that's going on there, but Churio has got the Yeah,
(28:15):
like the Acunya tendencies that are floating out there for sure,
very good stuff, good questions, even the fantasy football stuff
out there there, you guys go, we might look to
a couple more questions, so feel free to drop them
in here. Moving down a little rookie lookie, speaking of
Jacob Marci, who I've mentioned three times, two for four,
double triple run score, three RBI against the Blue Jays
(28:35):
on Sunday, and Marcy just doesn't slow down. And you know,
you're like the seventh different person I've get. I've gotten
to do a show with that. I get to just
mention my multiple year ago love of Jacob Marcy in
the AFL that then got used against me, Bubba, And
we're now watching Jacob Marcy with a three forty six
(28:57):
batting average in the Major's four homer seven stolen base
is not too chebby not.
Speaker 2 (29:03):
Bad AFL MVP Jacob Marcon.
Speaker 1 (29:05):
Yes, no big deal, No big deal. Diamondbacks Jordan Lawler
three for five with two RBIs in Triple A Reno
on Sunday. So they still haven't pushed it. You know,
he had been coming back from I'm forgetting what it
was now, but like he was out here, they pushed
him up to Triple A slow rolling. It looks like
his bat's starting to kind of come alive. They're going
(29:27):
to give him a look. I know people are waiting
for it. I don't I don't know how trustworthy it's
going to be. He still has an issue with like
sliders and stuff, and I don't know if that's going
to get fixed. But like the Diamondbacks, when you're kind
of out of it, I know they're now doing this
like ooh, we're coming back in if you're out of it.
Get him up there and give him a month to
(29:47):
learn this stuff, give him a month to look at
major league pitching and sliding sliders and try to adjust
instead of giving him three weeks and sending him back down.
So he might be up there might be some fantasy relevance.
I'm not one hundred percent sure. Jack hagleon two for
five two RBIs on Sunday in a minor league GenAm
assignment in Triple A with that hamstring. He should be
back soon. Christian Campbell in the rookie side two for
(30:08):
four with a homer, two runs, score two RBI. Has
really been good since he's been sent down and could
be an option here in the near future. Christian Campbell,
Jack Caglion, Jordan Lawler, what's your speculation speculate on one
of those guys? So, like Campbell doesn't have an injury stuff,
He's been there, failed, has been good in the miners.
(30:29):
Jack cagleon, we know what the excitement power is, but
he had really fallen off before getting hurt. And then
like Jordan Lawler, you know, you kind of know what
all of that is, but he's a little bit of
a mess. Pick one.
Speaker 2 (30:40):
Campbell's the one I'm most interested in because we know
the overall skill set and right now the Red Sox
are starting David Hamilton, so that's a problem now given
the Royals outfields not that much better. But when it
comes to these young guys, like we've seen stretches of
good ball at the big league level. For Campbell, we
haven't seen that from the other two, So I'd like
to see I expect you on Campbell actually having the
(31:00):
best September one of the group.
Speaker 1 (31:02):
I think if all things were considered and they were
up at the same time, I would take Campbell. I
kind of think Lawler might be the best in between,
because I think he comes up in the next couple
of days, and you know, he's a power speed combo
Jack has the most explosive power potential, but you know,
hitting under two hundred doesn't like really help. But if
all things were considered, I would take Campbell if he's there.
(31:23):
And the only other thing to point out Mets one
of the top pitching prospects, Brandon Sprott is going to
be pitching it. He pitched in relief on Sunday. Why
this is interesting. They're thinking of unloading their clips. Man,
you've already who was You got Nolan McClain, who's up there,
who looks good? Sprot's moving into relief and there's a
lot of Jonah tom talk right now that he could
(31:44):
be up. Whether these are going to be in rotations
or bullpens, I think they are loading these guys up
to start helping, and I don't Obviously Sprot's not going
to have fantasy value if he's in the bullpen, but
Tom could be. So just wanted to throw out that
some of these Mets guys are out there and they
might pay back them too. Maybe you have like a
Sprat McClain combination. So whichever one's on the back end
(32:05):
is going to have a little bit more fantasy value.
Three up and three down on the ups, Jazz Chisholm
two for four, two homers, four RBI. On Sunday, Gunner
Henderson two for four, a homer and two stolen bases.
Very beautiful Rangers swore As seven innings, had eleven strikeouts,
gave up only three hits and no walks. On the down,
(32:27):
you know, everybody was loving Jacob Lopez. Everybody was love
and Hill he's a good This is a nope. Two innings,
nine earned runs, six walks. He had been good by
the way he had some good outings, got absolutely a obliterated.
Murder Beld nine earned runs, six walks. Jack Flaherty eight
earned runs in five innings, gave up ten hits, and
(32:49):
Todd Bradley got called back up when five innings, seven
earned runs, nine hits given up. Is there are there
any of those three pitchers that you have any belief in?
I mean, Flarity is probably the biggest name. Jacob put
together like a decent run. Is there anybody coming off
of this disastrous Sunday that you might speculate on still
or No?
Speaker 2 (33:09):
Lopez? I'm terrified he had four arm tightness, they said,
So that's not good. Jack Flaherty is still my guy.
I've been defending him all season. He's tilting, ultra tilting.
I agree. But he's made twenty six starts seventeen he's
allowed three round runs a less for two seven seven ERA.
The other nine starts a nine to one eight ERA,
So it's like two thirds of his starts outstanding, a
(33:30):
third of his stars just blows the whole thing up.
But yeah, and it didn't help. They threw him out
for that last minute they did not need to do.
So I'll stay with Clarity all right.
Speaker 1 (33:41):
On the injury front, Marcus Simeon, this is bad news.
Diagnosed with a fractured third metatarsal what is it metatarsal? Metatarsal?
It doesn't sound right saying that, and a Liz Frank
spring in his left foot, all that matters he's gonna
miss like a month, he's gonna miss the rest of
the regular season, and if he were to play in
(34:01):
the playoffs, a little bit of there. So Marcus Simeon
full cut, move on from that. Rangers Bruce Bochi also
confirmed that Jacob de Grom is going to make his
next start, which is today against the Angels. So he
had that one push start, which sure would have helped
me last week in fantasy, so had tip, you know,
like I had to be the defender. Everyone's like, oh hey,
look he's missing starts, and it's like this is a
(34:23):
management thing and it's a good thing, but it was
really bad timing. I really wish they would have done
this like a month ago, right, yep, yep.
Speaker 2 (34:30):
And we're gonna see a lot more that we alreadys
saw Shane boz Is getting pushed back and a few
other guys. So it's a thing this time of the year.
Speaker 1 (34:37):
Did you think in your guys' draft you did did
you think de Gram went a little too low? I
think he ended up going like SP ten or twelve
or something like that. Did you feel like, based on
what he put he was healthy? You know, he's if
he for all intensive purposes. He could leave the season
with like one hundred and sixty innings. He was really good,
though there was some down, you know, a little bit
(34:57):
of downtiket overall production. Do you think like it was
too low based on that or that was pricing in
he still has an overall injury risk, he's getting older
and stuff like that.
Speaker 2 (35:08):
I thought it was low because I thought with that room,
I know, there's a handful of the grum lovers, I
thought he was going to go much sooner. So I
think maybe it's the age. It's like it was right
after the announcement of his start getting pushed back with
a shoulder like soreness. So there's maybe like a little
like let's wait a little bit longer on him. But yeah,
I think if he finishes September strong, he's a top
you know, five six pitcher off the board.
Speaker 1 (35:30):
My brain rot is like, as soon as you said that,
I was like taking it to the Lonely Island, your
Jacob Lover, Jacob Lover, trying to create a song like that.
As soon as you did that, But I gotta be
careful about it. Live on here. Yeah, astros. They said
there is a possibility that Ordan Alvarez will return for
Tuesday series against the Rockies. Don't hold your breath. Everything's
(35:52):
a lie at all times. But we might have Alvarez
back for the final month stretch, which would be you know,
likely your playoff runs or you know, I I just
had my playoff week just run last week, so it
wouldn't matter for me now. But he is coming back, Kelly,
I'm not trying to get us demonetized like the old days.
We're not. I'm not going to sing the song. I'm
just I'm here in lonely on a island in my
(36:14):
head when I'm when we're saying it. The Braves told
reporters that Sunday that Chris Sale is expected to return
to the team's rotation on Saturday against the Phillies. That's huge.
Will you trust it?
Speaker 2 (36:26):
Though?
Speaker 1 (36:26):
This week it's Chris Sale, but it's the Phillies.
Speaker 2 (36:29):
Yeah, you roll them, you roll them. He threw almost
five innings in his last week you have started. He's
as stretched out as he's going to be, and there
ain't many pictures better than him these days.
Speaker 1 (36:38):
So yes, that's true. He gets the pass one hundred percent.
Dodgers Dave Roberts said, Maximundsey is going to take some
live batting practice next week. The Angels placed Noah Shanwell
on the ten day. I l and Michael King threw
a simulated game on Sunday, but no one was there.
And did anybody hear it? Did it really happen? Did
anybody care? I don't know. I don't because Michael King
is a lost cause this year. All right, those are
(36:58):
your injuries. Let's go look at some bets. What are
we betting for Monday? Bubba and I. We've got a
card together, Bubbs, why don't you go? I like, I
feel weird going first, even though I know when Joe
hosts he goes first. I'll do mine after. But what
do you got on your card today?
Speaker 2 (37:13):
Yet more prop bets. Hits Runs RBIs tren Grisham with
the two home runs on Sunday. That's not the only
reason I'm taking him is he's facing the good Lord
Brad Lord in Yankee Stadium. So over three hits runs
RBIs for the leadoff hitter for the Yankees at plus
one thirty five. I knew we'd be talking venn P again.
Shane Smith's taking the bump in the Chico White Sox
hashtag not that good. Vinn p is on fire. So
(37:35):
over three hits runs Arby's that's one swing of the
bat for the big man these days plus one thirty five.
And then we're playing games in Sacramento. Welsh a little
hot there right now. Riley Green another guy that just
hit bombs, and we're facing JT. Gin on the mound.
It's gonna be rid of the Green. Over three hits
runs RBS at plus one thirty.
Speaker 1 (37:54):
I like the bets. I'm actually telling a little bit
of what you're talking about with the Trent Grisham stuff
for my bets today. First off, I am gonna go
with the big pitching matchup, and I'm gonna go with
no runs in the first inning. Chris Sanchez versus Code
I sang Philly versus the Mets, Nurfy the little juicy
there but two incredible pitchers that are gonna shut it
down in the first inning. Then I'm gonna jump over
to the New York Yankees. You mentioned the not so
(38:17):
great Brad Lord. I'm gonna go with the run line
on the Yankees minus one point five for minus one twenty,
so essentially them to score or win by two runs
against Washington, who has been lat Yankees. They're gonna want
to put it on that whole Red Sox series is
gonna be stinging a little bit, so this is gonna
be a big run output. So I really like that one.
And then Brenda Woodruff has been phenomenal this year. I'm
(38:38):
not saying they're not gonna beat the Diamondbacks and they're
not gonna do all that, but over his last two
he's not hit the seven strikeout marker Diamondbacks top into
the offense is scrappy and annoying. You got guys like
Perdomo who don't strike out. I am gonna go with
the under strikeouts on Brandon Woodruff under six point five,
so no seven strikeouts for him minus won twenty five.
(38:59):
That's my card, that's Bubba's card, and you guys can
go and build your card. If you download the Betting

(39:45):
MLB props or on the app with the code there
you go, Boom do it. Let's take a look at
the home run board. Where are we out On the
home run board, Positive Grouch might be walking away with this,
my friends, fifty four for Positive Grouch. Whips is at
fifty Whips, you gotta have a big week bing bang
(40:05):
and boom, forty nine, forty eight, forty eight, forty six
Bees and George and the Fisher King. They want to
make it a thing here. But this is a run
between Positive Grouch and Whips. Walkee is at forty one.
Still on the board. Walkee's gonna is doing a really
good job and I think is gonna be able to
stick on this board the entire season. Joe and I
not so much. I think Joe had Joe like Cal
(40:28):
Rawley too, So you just picked up two. Joe's gonna
beat me this year. It's crazy to be positive is
in the chat here. I'm not trying to jink to you.
I love what you're rocking with. We need to get
your picks, so let's get ours. Bubba, who you rocking today?
For your home run?
Speaker 2 (40:42):
Call yep I mentioned. We'll talk about him again, but
I'm gonna keep riding the hot bat of any peace
at night Homers in thirteen games, let's make it ten
and fourteen.
Speaker 1 (40:51):
I'm gonna go. I'm gonna be lame. I'm gonna go
with Judge. Give me ludge, Judge a luge, give me
Judge against the Lord, and give me some Homers. I
need to get up on that. I need to get
up on that board.
Speaker 2 (41:00):
Man.
Speaker 1 (41:01):
Especially Joe having Cal really hurts because like I've got
to get these other picks to go ahead of him.
It's unfortunate and I don't want to do an im perpetuity.
So those are the picks. Those are our home runs,
and you guys want to prep into next season. Make
sure you guys go and check out our Discord. We
actually had two ways. If you guys pick up a
(41:23):
sub on this channel on the Twitch, we've got it
hooked up where you guys can have access to the
Discord and you could have access to the home Run
Challenge which is for next season, but you could just
do it today. So re up your subs here. If
you have Amazon Prime, you can do it for absolutely free.
You get a free sub for an Amazon Prime, gets
rid of ads here, gets access to special emotes, and
(41:43):
it would give you access to the home Run contest.
So make sure you are locked into that. That's it.
That's all that we've got today. Bobbo is great doing
a show with you. I think this is like probably
our only one we got to do this year. But
Arico is out. I think he's on the Struggle bus
long night, so it's you mean doing the business here,
Bubba and Arico will be back on Wednesday or no,
(42:05):
I'm sorry, it's me and Arico schedule. Yeah, you are
on Friday. It's me and Arico that are going to
be back on Wednesday. So make sure you guys are
subscribed on the YouTube and then Twitch dot tv Slash
Fantasy Pros for all the stuff that is it. Clearly
I need to get out of here. Love you guys
have a fantastic one. Good luck in your matchups and
your playoffs. We are out peace.
