might find a couple out there this week, especially if
you start one CJ.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
Stroud. Yeah, dude. I mean, look, c J. Strout's who
are gonna kick this off? And just for full clarity
and transparency of everybody, we usually try to go through quarterbacks,
running backs, wide receiver. The running back position is god awful.
It is a mess. It's a dumpster fire this week.
So I want people to understand. I think there are
so many matchups that we're gonna get to from the
wide receiver position. This is a wide receiver in your
(02:21):
flex spot type of week where it is play the
guys you got that are gonna get volume at running
back and we're probably we're exploiting matchups this week in
the primer for wide receivers to put people over the top.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
But c J.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
Strout, let's leave the conversation here, man. Like Seattle's pass defense, Look,
they haven't been as good as everybody wants him to
be this year. Like they've given up the six most
passing yards per game, tenth most passing touchdowns in their
middle road in Cpoe so Stroud. I know it's not
been great. I know it hasn't been, but he flashed
upside against the Ravens. I'm not telling you that the
(02:55):
Seattle pass defense is as bad as Baltimore's. But the
other side is they haven't been good and what is
gonna force CJ. Stroud to throw the ball this week too?
Seth is when you face these teams that can make
you one dimensional. Seattle's run defense is elite, So Houston
if they want to move the ball and have success
on offense, they're gonna have to do it with CJ.
(03:17):
Stroud in the passing game this week. So I think
it's gonna lead to a big day for c J. Stroud.
Speaker 1 (03:22):
Hey, look, man, if you just look at the last
two matchups for the Seattle Seahawks, they have been great
for quarterbacks right number three and fantasy points allowed to
the position as of late. Baker Mayfield obviously one of those,
going for over three hundred and seventy nine passing yards
two passing touchdowns.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
But even Trevor Lawrence.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
Last last week right like, had a lot of attempts.
Didn't look awesome at two hundred and fifty eight and two.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
You'll take that PTJ long touchdown did get called back
they wiped off the board for holding penalty, So good point.
That didn't make the box score, but it did happen
in real life.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
And one of the better games Trevor Lawrence has had
all you too, so you'll certainly take that, and we
would take that from CJ.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
Stroud. You also like one of his.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
Counterparts there a potential receiver who's been a little bit
back and forth this season, missed a couple of games
due to injury, but you're saying he's still the same
mode c K Yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
Dude, Christian Kirk in ECR is wide receiver forty three.
He is worth flexing this week. And then again, this
comes down to the matchups. I know Kirk has not
balled out and had a monster game to this point.
I get that, Like he's only averaging thirty six point
three receiving yards per game. That's not really gonna take
anybody's fancy, But the matchup this week should push you
in that direction. If Stroud's gonna have a good game,
(04:34):
I think Kirk is coming along for the ride. And
Seattle has given up the ninth most PPR points per
target and receiving yards per game to opposing slot wide receivers.
So Christian Kirk, come on now, baby, let's go. We
get wide receiver three flex production. Maybe he gets in
the end zone this week, and if he d V
scores this week, he's probably gonna end up with the
wide receiver two finish this week.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
I think it was very telling when Christian Kirk came back,
and you and I and I think everyone else thought
maybe if he was gone for a couple weeks to
start the season, Noel could push him out of this role.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
Not the case at all.
Speaker 1 (05:07):
Full Cartter comes back, He's already has a target per
route run rate of twenty two point five percent. That's
the thirty fourth best among wide receivers. Also, you look
at the designed targets per game, he is twentieth among
receivers as well, with two per games. So they want
to get the ball in his hands. I don't know
if there's long term success for Christian Kirk the season.
(05:28):
I don't know if he can stay that week, but
this week he might. He might be a pretty good uh,
a pretty good play there in that uh in that
opening window there. So Derek, let's go ahead and go
to another receiver that you also like who is coming
back off injury for the first time this season though.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
Yeah, dude, So Jalen Coker did not play last week,
he practiced and full of the team held him out.
He is at wide receiver sixty and ECR this week.
That's blasphemous, man. I think he steps back in and
he is immediately a flex play. And look at what
he did last year, dude, like six games when he
played at least sixty eight percent of the snaps with
Bryce Young under center. And I know a lot of caveats. Basically,
(06:08):
this is all to say. When Coker was a full
time player and Bryce Shung was his quarterback, Jalen Coker
had an eighteen point three percent target chare. He averaged
almost fifty six receiving yards per game. He had a
twenty four percent first read chare. And this week, Sauce
Gardner is probably gonna shadow ted Ro McMillan, So that's
gonna push more targets to Jalen Coker. And it's a
(06:29):
great matchup just in general, because the Jets secondary cannot
stop slot wide receivers. They're giving up the eighth most
PPR points for target to the position. So Jalen Coker
wide receiver reproduction flex option this week. People could be like, oh,
I don't know, man, Like, should I play Jalen Cocher
or Jordan Whittington. Should I play Jalen Cocher or Kayshawn
(06:51):
Boodie or Jalen Cocher, Travis Hunter or Tesz Johnson? Dude,
not playing Jalen Coker over all of these guys, Elk
a omannor all these guys this week? I love Jilly
Cocher this week. I think he's gonna have a really
strong game.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
We when you don't have to go that far back
in these New York Jet game logs to see a
slot wide receiver pop off. In fact, our guy Ryan Floornoy,
a Division two prospect, he kind of came seemingly.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
Out of nowhere. That's one of his boys, Is it
really okay? All right?
Speaker 1 (07:18):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (07:18):
I love them.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
So someone who none of us really knew much about
just a few weeks ago. And you and I have
diven through most of these rookies right and over the
last two years. And he comes out six for one
to fourteen to nine targets for floor Noy. So you know,
maybe a potential big game here for a similarly under
the radar guy out of Holy Cross in Jalen Cocher.
(07:39):
Who else do you like at the wide receiver position?
Speaker 2 (07:41):
This week, Derek, Dude, I'm going down the well and
I know that, so we're gonna give a caveat. I
know the matchup on paper versus these corners is not great,
but if you look at the coverage matchup, Alec Peers
could be in for a big day this week. I
know the Chargers perimeter owners have played really, really good.
There's a lot to dive through here, but if you
(08:05):
look at the matchup for Alec Pierce, I think one
Josh Downs is probably out this week. Some more targets
are gonna get pushed to Alec Pierce. He's gonna become
an elevated part of the offense. Now. Is Jonathan Taylor
probably just gonna steamroll that that run defense, Absolutely sure,
But somebody else is gonna come along for the ride
through the air, and I think it could be Alec Pierce. Dude. Like,
if you look at the Chargers in four of six
(08:27):
games this year, they have utilized single high on fifty
one to fifty nine percent of the defensive snaps. This
matters because single high versus that coverage structure. Alec Pierce
has been the go to for the Indianapolis Colts versus
single high seth. Alec Pierce has a twenty six point
nine percent target chair. He has almost forty eight percent
(08:48):
of their air yards, three point sixty nine yards per
route run and almost a twenty eight percent first read chare.
So you want to talk about flex plays out of
the freaking blue, I'm pulling these guys in from the
ether that could offer some strong production for people this
week and put them over the top where it's like, dude,
we're struggling. I got everybody's hurt. I don't have anybody
(09:11):
to play. Alec Peerce is probably out there on almost
every single waver wire out there. Pick him up. He's
worth a flex this week.
Speaker 1 (09:20):
Do you think we see his ADOC come down a
little bit with no Josh downs potentially out there. He's
currently third in the NFL and ad hoc nineteen point
two yards per target, So you think that maybe comes
back down we see a little bit closer to the
line of scrimmage action for Alec Pierce.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
Yeah, yeah, it could. Man and where that comes into now,
some of the design targets probably go the way of
Tyler Warren. Maybe you see some more jt us in
the passing game this week, But I think Alec Pierce.
He could get some more design looks, could get a
little bit more of like the intermediary stuff, not just
the you know, the deep shots and stuff like that,
but versus this covered structure. He could have a huge game.
Speaker 1 (09:57):
And only takes one deep shot, right, it only takes
deep shot to pay.
Speaker 2 (10:01):
He takes one fifty yards of the house in a touchdown.
That's eleven points, like twelve points. Like, so he's making
your day. Like, if that happens, that's all you needed.
The flex.
Speaker 1 (10:10):
Let's talk about another wide receiver a little bit under
the radar, popped up early in the season, had a
lot of steam as a potential waiver wire snagging a
difference maker. I don't know if he's been that quite yet,
but you think he could be here in week number seven.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
I think he can be. And that's Troy Franklin. I
know that it hasn't been pretty for him for a
lot of the season. He is still for everybody, like,
looks at his snapshare and stuff. Dude, he's out there
when they're passing and that's all that matters. Like he
has a seventy one percent rout chare so like, don't
look at the snap shares. Look how often this guy's
on the field when they are throwing the ball, And
that's definitely true for Troy Franklin. Now, the thing that
(10:45):
I want to highway with Franklin here is he has
an eighteen percent first read share. Now this week, the
Giants have been utilizing more too high versus too high,
Franklin's first read share increases to twenty percent. This secondary,
you can get at them, man, Like the Giants there secondary,
they're allowing the tenth most fantasy points per game, eleventh
most receiving yards two perimeter wide receivers. I know you
(11:06):
can run against his defense. Courtland Sutton's probably gonna have
a good day if bo Nicks has I'll say, not
a bounce back game, but he's been able to exploit
softer matchups this year, and tougher matchups he just disappears
and he's not played well at all. This is a
little bit more on the softer side of matchups for
bow Nicks. So I think it could be a good
week for Troy Franklin, consider in the covered structure, considering
(11:28):
the secondary that he's gonna go up against.
Speaker 1 (11:30):
Bo Nix is one of those quarterbacks man like, it's
really very black and white, right, Like he struggles against
good teams and is pretty freaking good against bad teams,
right dude.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
Speaking yeah, and speaking of prospect eval, I was out
on him as a prospect. I didn't like him going
to the year. He made me eat all of those
words in his rookie season, But this year it's been
a lot of the issues and worries that I had
about bo Nicks transitioning to the NFL, A lot of
that stuff is cropped back up in his game. I
hope he irons it out, but it I'm not saying it.
(12:00):
It feels validating, but it definitely makes me feel like
I am not insane for having some of the questions
that I had about Nix as a prospect, considering what
he's done this year in the field.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
I think what's interesting about Troy Franklin too, not just
this matchup of this entire year Derek is I think
a lot of us. I know Pat fits Morse is
really high on Marvin Mims coming in the season because
he was getting I wasn't some of the deep shots,
but he was also getting a lot of that design touch.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
Part time player. I was never in on Marvin mems.
Speaker 1 (12:27):
Well, And now that's kind of almost what Troy Franklin
is getting in a way, because he's getting right now,
he's leading the NFL and designed targets per game, but
also he's getting valuable red zone work. He has six
red zone targets. It's the ninth most in the NFL
right now. So when the Bronco is getting close, yes,
they're looking for Courtland Sutton, they're looking for their tight ends,
but they're actually looking for Troy Franklin as well.
Speaker 2 (12:47):
It's kind of shifty in.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
The back of that end zone.
Speaker 2 (12:49):
To your point, too, is he due for touchdown regression? Like,
I don't think he's scored a touchdown in the last
few weeks, right, Like, I'm not crazy in saying that.
Speaker 1 (12:57):
Right, No, No, I think it's been a bit of
a dry spell honestly for him overall. I don't know
if he's finished inside the top thirty six in a
minute as well.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
So he hasn't scored a touchdown since Week two, and
that's despite getting three red zone targets in his last
four games. So yeah, however, you want to play this
secondary matchup coverage matchup touchdown regression is due to hit
for Troy Franklin. All the parts of pieces this all
comes back to He's probably due for a big game
this week.
Speaker 1 (13:25):
Yeah, maybe a little anytime TD action on Little TF
as well. And before we get to our final pick
at the tight end position, I wanted to remind you
all that you can dominate your fantasy football league with

once again, a tight end prospect to kind of, you know,
crap up Honestly in the process. I don't think we
are in love with him from a prospect standpoint, but
the fit has been great and it might be even
better this week with no top competition out there for targets.
Speaker 2 (14:10):
Yeah, dude, Look, I know people were burned by it
last week. The matchup was horrible. Justin fields played terribly.
I understand all of that, but you cannot be a
prisoner of the moment and recency bias, and two monster
games from Mason Taylor and then the dud. You get
duds from every single player. It doesn't matter whether your
(14:31):
studs or otherwise. That happens. We're going right back to
the well for Mason Taylor, dude. And like the fact
that he's ranked is tight end fifteen in ECR right now,
I think is kind of crazy to me. Considering no
Garrett Wilson. You look at the Carolina Panthers. We talked
about this on Twitch. This Carolina Panthers run defense is
(14:52):
massively improved, so the Jets are not gonna be able
to just run over them this week. He's gonna operate.
Mason Taylor is gonna operate as the widers one for
the Jets this week. And considering the matchup, dude, Like,
since week four, he has gotten a twenty two point
two percent target chair, he's averaging almost forty five receiving yards.
He has a twenty two point four percent first read cheer.
(15:13):
That's with Garrett Wilson in the huddle. Garrett Wilson's out
this week. What the heck do y'all think Mason Taylor's
gonna do. He's gonna leave this freaking team in targets
against the defense that has given up the most receiving
yards and the second most schedule adjusted fantasy points per
game to tight ends. Mason Taylor's a tight end one
this week.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
He is well and also another guy who might find
the end zone two. Carolina has given up a receiving
touchdown to a tight end in four out of five
games this season, three straight, Derek, and like they've played
good tight ends, like they have played Trey McBride. Dolls
is the one uh Titan not to find the end
zone on him.
Speaker 2 (15:47):
But like it's been like.
Speaker 1 (15:48):
Darren Waller, Fergie, Austin Hooper, Hunter, Henry's like not world
beaters and they've all had success. So why not your
guy Mason Taylor here this week?
Speaker 2 (15:57):
Why not? Dude? I mean Mason Taylor. It's not just
that I think he's gonna be a tight end one
this week. If you're thumbing through like Mason Taylor versus
like Nick Chubb and Woody Marx and all these other
questionable running backs Isaiah Pacheco, I'll throw that name out
there too. Mason Taylor is flex fiable, dude, like I'm
playing him over a lot of these other options, because again,
(16:19):
he is going to be the Jets wide receiver one
this week. He's gonna lead them in targets. The matchup
is glorious. So don't be like stung by what happened
last week. Look at the two previous weeks, understand his
role in this offense, and that Mason Taylor's gonna get
a lot of targets. Love that.
Speaker 1 (16:37):
I love that, Derek, And thank you so much for
bringing all the information as always from the primer right
here to the Fancy Pros YouTube channel that is gonna
do it for us on this episode of the Fancy
Pros Fantasy Football Podcast. Please comment down below your favorite
Week seven sleeper starts if we want to hear from him.
Also tell us any more of your celebrity lookalikes. We
want to hear those as well. Derek, I think you
(16:58):
kind of remind me the guy from Hot Tub Time
Machine lou Like. I think if you trimmed up the
beard a little, you could gill a loogle action going
on day and I.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
Usually get Action Bronson, which I you know, I had
to look up even who that was Action Bronson. I
got I've got a lot of difference. The bad thing is,
though none of those comparisons have been good. It's not
like anybody's out here and like, oh bro, you look
like Brad Pitt or something like. I'm like, okay, I mean,
I guess you know whatever, I mean. I'll I'll take
(17:27):
whatever I gets. These days said I'll take whatever I get.
Speaker 1 (17:30):
That's the right. Well, take what we can get. Make
sure to smashing like bunch subscribing if you're new as well.
For Derek Brown, I'm seth woollcock. Take care of y'all.
