Speaker 1 (00:01):
Welcome everybody to the twitch live stream here on Fantasy Pros.
I am your host Andrew Erickson today, not joined by
Tom Strachan because he is out on vacation in Turkey
sipping on beverages poolside. But to fill his place, we
have the King of Ros, Derek Brown, Debro Underscore FFB.
(00:21):
Derek Brown. Welcome to the Best Ball live stream. What's
going on?
Speaker 2 (00:24):
Man? What's going on? Baby? I'm living my best life. Man.
The temperatures are heating up on Redraft and Best Ball
and listen to a lot of K pop these days.
I don't know what's going on in my life that's
a good thing or a bad thing, ericson, but I'm
living it well.
Speaker 1 (00:37):
I'm glad that you're here to join me. We're gonna
be hitting the underdog streets here, trying to win a
grand total of two million dollars. And what's fun about
this draft? As we kind of plug in here where
we put the room fill up, I've actually plugged in
Derek Brown's rankings, so we're gonna be looking at Debros
rankings versus ADP. How high is too high to draft?
(00:59):
RJ Harvey? All those questions are gonna be answered. It's
gonna be a lot of fun. So let's hop into
the draft right now and wait for this bad boy
to fill up. In the meantime, dro let's hit on
some news items from over the weekend as people are
coming in listening here. Joe Mixon, we got a notification
about him now potentially missing the rest of the preseason.
(01:20):
He's dealing with his nagging foot injury. And Joe Mixon
or He's had his fair share of foot injuries that
have caused him to miss a lot of time in
the NFL and fantasy football. So what are your major
thoughts with Joe Mixon takeaways? How far did you move
him down the rankings? If you did move him down.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
I moved him down into RB three territory. And I
mean he's pretty much an avoid for me, dude. Like,
right now I'm looking at the best ball adp over
on Fantasy Pros. He's at RB twenty. There's just no way, man, Like,
I'm not touching him at that. I don't even know
if I'm drafting at RB three prices, Like it has
to be more of like a zero B team where
I'm like trying to make up at RB And that's
(01:57):
the bets that I'll make in the best ball streets
on Joe Mixon because dude, like foot injuries could be
very problematic. Man, Like, I think the answer to the
Joe Mixon saga, and you tell me where you said
on this, I think the answer for the Joe Mixon
saga is just invest more in the Houston passing attack.
Like Jade Higgins is a rank too low, man.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
I couldn't agree more. I think that Jaden Higgins when
I was doing my rookie evaluations, looking at how to
value the rookie position, looking at receivers, Jadan Higgins looks
a lot like Roshie Rice two years ago. Second round
pick dropped into a high powered offense. Last year it
was Lab McConkey, a high second round pick dropped into
an offense with a good quarterback. I think it's the
exact same situation with Jadan Higgins. So I think that
(02:34):
he's going to be producing sooner rather than later. It
looks like the draft is firing up here. You're going
to be starting in fifty seconds. We are picking at
the one oh nine, So I know dro we talked
about how we kind of like picking at the end
of the round one, so one oh nine feels pretty good.
And I know I was looking at your rankings when
I was threw him in here, and the Brian Thomas
(02:55):
rank is spicy there at I believe number six overall,
which I absolutely love to see.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
It's either depending on where you sit with BTJ for
twenty twenty five, it's either seductive or it's scandalous or
it's terrible. I mean, you pick your lane. But yeah, dude,
I've got Brian Thomas Junior. I think what I'm at
wide receiver four, So I mean really like this just
comes down to, like at the end of the first round,
you're taking shots on players. And that's why we love
(03:22):
the turn this year, Ericson, is that at that spot
we have just a litany of profiles of guys where
they could be the wide receiver one or top three
at their respective positions, and so you're picking between all
these guys. I keep referencing this four pack. Can you
tell me you're aut on these guys? Ericson real fast,
like CMC gent, Brian Thomas Junior, Drake London, Like, give
(03:45):
me two of those four at the turn, and I'm
a very happy person.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
Yeah, I think that those are some of my four
favorite players. And if you said I had to take
them all in round one, I don't think that I
would necessarily hesitate to have to do they pull them
up into round one and to find a way. I mean,
getting the Brian Thomas Junior Drake London back to back
clicks feels just so good. Just betting on two super
talented players with opportunities to be the wide receiver one overall,
(04:12):
I just you know, gets you really excited. And the
Genty versus CMC debate gent just looks like such a
nearly flawless prospect. I think that. I mean I went
back and looked at just his second year at Boise
State and the receiving numbers he put up. It's pretty bonkers,
but those were.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
He could be. And and I kept like, I didn't
know how to frame this perfectly, but he could be.
I kept calling him like Vegas CMC shout out to
THEO Grimminger because I don't want to steal this from him.
CMC West, I'm like, bro, like I can totally go
with this, Like jen Z could put up a CMC
type of season, and I don't think people realize that
like his receiving upside is being slept on like hard
(04:49):
goore man agreed.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
All right, So we're coming up on the clock here
one oh nine. Gibbs is still available mecasics.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
Dude, Gibbs.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
Brown.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
All right, he goes.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
Get We got some receivers here, you want to just
take Let's take just lock him in.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
Wait is BJ Is BTJ still out there? I don't
see him? Oh yeah, yeah, take him? Take him?
Speaker 1 (05:09):
All right, Let's go with BTJ and.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
Shout out to t v R and everybody else in
the chat. Yeah, baby, the Erickson is together on this one.
But hopefully this is the MILLI team here ericson.
Speaker 1 (05:20):
I hope. So I found very very quickly. Well, already
that house is very expensive. House is very expensive.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
It is very expensive. We already ran the math on this.
I mean you agreed to these terms, right like we
split it halfway and you pay all the taxes on
the two MILLI right that that that sounds good.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
Yeah, I'll have my lawyer send you all the information.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
My lawyer get back to you on that when I
find my lawyer or get one.
Speaker 1 (05:46):
All right, we're coming up again. A DP is Saint Brown,
Derrick Henry. I mean we're doing the drink. I mean
we got to London.
Speaker 2 (05:52):
Yeah, we're doing let's go and and for everybody out there,
I know this sounds kind of scandalous, but yes we do.
I do have Drake London ranked the head of Amoros
Saint Brown. This is not hate on Amanrow, but like dude,
I just I don't see a path for Amanro to
be the wide receiver one overall in the context of
that offense, where like Drake London, there's a really easy
(06:15):
clear path for him to like lead the NFL in
targets this year.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
I agree. I have Drake London also over a Monroe
Saint Brown. I talked about him just looking at how
heavily he uses for Michael Penniclean not him in the
red zone last year. So I think Drake London has
immense red zone upside. And just the thing with Detroit
having a new offensive coordinator come in. Every time they
talk about the offense, they talk about, yes, they want
to do some of the same things from last year
(06:40):
and how the offense has been successful. But John Morton
has constantly beat the drama. He wants to put his
own staple on the offense and not just be exactly
what Ben Johnson is doing. What's Ben Jonson's claim to
fame featuring the slot receiver in his offense that has
been Saint Brown? So what if he decides no, we're
going to get more James Williams. Of all, We're going
to move him to space a little bit more. So
that's why I think higher the consensus on Jamison just
(07:02):
a little bit lower, like you also on a Mon
Raw Saint Brown. All right, we are coming up here
at the three to nine is where we're coming up.
We currently have Drake London, Brian Thomas with our two picks.
We kind of alluded it at the top with the
wide receivers, so we've got wide receiver wide receiver start.
So are we going to be looking for our hero
(07:23):
running back in the upcoming third round pick? We got
so Bucky Irving, Chase Brown or the top guys. You
have Bucky Irving ranked highest, ken Walker? I know that.
I also like to you're obviously hiring consensus on ken Walker,
ken Walker or Chase Brown. Would you be cool with
either of those guys in the third round? Oh, Chase
Brown's gone, But ken Walker third round, he should be
available for us.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
Yeah, I'm cool with him. Do we have any of
the elite tight ends so they already go off the
board too.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
It looks like Kittle still available and he's at thirty
nine EIGHTYP, so he would probably be in play as well.
But we could also potentially push it. We could probably
push him potentially because we also pick at forty, so
we could push Kittle potentially, or we push Walker.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
I think what's Walker's ADP?
Speaker 1 (08:04):
Since we're Walker has a lower ADP.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
Yeah, let's take Kittle and then we'll try to take Yeah,
we'll take Kittle and then and Walker if they get.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
To us, all right, let's try that.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
I just think, with you know, starting the wide receiver
wide receiver start, we're kind of like possibly leaning on
the edge of zero RB here, and I'm totally fine
if we lean further into that. I'm good with whatever.
So you don't want to go for all Marion Hampton, No,
I do not want to draft a Marion Hampton at
close to like you go with.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
George Kittle round for D that's going to be the
pick here. What are your thoughts upside?
Speaker 2 (08:38):
What are your thoughts on Marion Hampton because like without
the past game ceiling in that offense right now, I'm
looking at it right now, He's he's RB fourteen, Like,
am I crazy to think that? Like that's really close
to his ceiling considering the context of that offense, Like
is there meat left on the bone at RB fourteen
for Marion Hampton? Because I have a hard time seeing it.
Speaker 1 (08:57):
I think that if he just gets the three down
workhorse role, his Chargers offense I think can be above
average with Justin Herbert at the helm. Yes, the pass
game usage is probably the biggest question mark based on
what Greg Roman has done. Traditionally you look at the
prospect though Hampton has obviously caught a lot of passes.
So is that something that they try to do a
(09:18):
little bit more of. I mean last year it was Dobbin,
I mean, Gus Edwards. You never throw the ball to ever,
So was it more about the running backs that Greg
Roman has had that's been a result of him not
passing to the running backs? And now you can go
back to much farther and maybe you'll find more data
about that. We are on the clock here, so I
do want to walk in Kenneth Walker as the hero RB.
(09:38):
He's back to one hundred percent.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
While you're taking Walker, shout out to all the new
followers we got we got killers seven seventy five O six,
Apple's eighty two. No cab j C k up in
the building. Dude, I'm going to butcher half of these
slay Cob victory not vengeance, I mean, dude, it's it's
fantastic we got all these people up in the Twitch
streets with us. But go ahead, Kate O ye to
(10:00):
me about Walker.
Speaker 1 (10:01):
Well, Ken Walker, I think just this system, the fit
that he has in this new offense, I think it
really works perfectly. And as long as he mean, it's
just a health man. That's the thing.
Speaker 2 (10:09):
You know.
Speaker 1 (10:10):
You're looking at his efficiency numbers from last year. He's
a broken misstackles machine. He wakes up and breaks tackles,
and last year he had plenty of experience trying to
break all those tackles because the Seahawks offensive line was
so terrible that he was getting tackled constantly behind the
offensive line. But before we get to our next pick,
we want to talk about the best ball live streams
that we're doing here on Twitch. It's myself and Tom Strachan,
(10:32):
usually not today, but usually Tom Strack, and we're here
to help you dominate your best ball drafts all summer long.
Learn about strategies, stacks, sleepers, and so much more. Every
couple of weeks like today, we'll perform live drafts and
break down our picks in real time. Tune every Monday
at four pm Eastern on Twitch at twitch dot tv
slash Fantay Spros to get the most practical bestball advice
(10:52):
on the web. Right, he wrote, we are back in business.
Four picks and Ken Walker RB one, Brian Thomas Drake
London to two receivers and George Kittle, who I do
prefer a little bit more in the half PPR than
the full PPR because the way Georg George Kittle wins
is insane efficiency, yardage, touchdown spikes. So although I think
(11:13):
that it makes it a little bit different from mcbriden Bowers,
where those guys can just eat up a ton of receptions,
and maybe Kittle changes the tune a little bit this
year because of all the Basically you turn on any
type of news notification for Fantay Bros. And you get, hey,
another forty nine Ers receiver is now out with an injury.
Speaker 2 (11:29):
Yep, Dwan Jennings the last one with a calf injury.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
Yeah. So yeah, George Kittle, I just I mean, it
just gonna be another year where he's gonna be insanely
leaned on, especially by Brock Purdy. We're coming up here
at five nine. A lot of receivers Jamison, Jamela, Wattle, Flowers, Ridley,
Ridley's gone. I like some of these receivers you have,
Hunter Raked Higas. I will push for Wattle if you
want to make the cave. I mean, r J. Harvey's
(11:55):
also there for you. James Connor, who are you leaning here?
Speaker 2 (12:00):
Good? It's Harvey for me. And then well Wattle just
goes because they know Ericson wants him. It's it's Harvey's
I go Harvey here. R J.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
Harvey would be a de Bro draft without getting some
exposures to r J. Harvey, dude.
Speaker 2 (12:18):
But really, like, if we're shooting for absolute upside in
the best ball streets, we know the past game utility,
like in a Sean Payton offense, Why are we ranking
this dude as like a low end RB two. Why Rickson?
Because it feels like just a case of people got
burned by Javonte last year and they haven't seen it.
(12:39):
I mean, really, like, do you do you envision like
just just follow me down this road? Do you envision
away where we're sending at week four and we're ranking RJ.
Harvey as an RB one on a weekly basis, on
a weekly ranks? Is that crazy to see?
Speaker 1 (12:55):
Well? If JK we'll see how long the the leash
on JK. Dobbins last. Basically, it's just we we know
that he's not made for the long haul. And I
think that Harvey may be a little bit slower starting
than I mean, he is also a rookie. I mean
some rookies are going to start slower. But before we
finish that conversation, we were back on the clock. Here
you have Pollard, Caleb Johnson, Dave Montgomery, Olavey Ranked hys
(13:15):
Evan Ingram, ADPs, Jennings, Olave Addison, Caleb Johnson, anyone here.
Speaker 2 (13:19):
I think I think we go with Jennings and build
us like a nice little party double possibly, or at
least give ourselves the opportunity for that.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
All right, we are buying the dip on the calf injury.
We will not per suayed way buy the calfs for
Juwon Jennings. Yes, I agree that he is Rock Perdy's
go to guy. But back to R. J. Harvey the conversation,
so ranking him as a potential RB one a month in,
I think it will be a committee to start the year.
I think that Sean Payne has always kind of embraced
(13:48):
that idea to an extent, but JK. Dobbins, we know
he's not made for the long term. He can be
explosive to start the year that offensive line for the
Denver Broncos.
Speaker 2 (13:56):
Not a p catcher either, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (13:59):
Not the greatest pass catcher. So and I guess it's
going back to that conversation where we talked about Omar
and Hampton, where yes, he caught past at the college level,
but you were lower on him, not necessarily worst consensus,
but just lower on his receiving upside based on the
offense's offense he's playing in compared to the Sean Payton offense,
which obviously features a lot of running backs in the
(14:20):
passing game, whether they're good as receivers or not. Kind
of like what we saw last year with Jamonte.
Speaker 2 (14:25):
Well And the other thing that I think kind of
gets lost in the sauce. Like everybody talks about the
volume stats for Hampton as a receiver, can we also
talk about the fact that, like over the last two
years in North Carolina as a collegiate prospect, he was
only thirty second and eighty fifth in yards per route run.
So like people can get an aamer with the volume
and stuff like that, but it's not like he was
an efficient receiver out of the backfield. So I think
some of that's kind of getting lost in the in
(14:47):
the conversation about Hampton as well.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
Where are we looking here? We're entering round seven now.
I haven't seen anything too out Lantis. I'm looking at
the full draft board. It seems like everything's gone pretty
at his quo. I don't know if Joe Mixon has
gone off the board yet. Actually kind of interested to
see if he's actually still available.
Speaker 2 (15:07):
Yeah, so he's still available.
Speaker 1 (15:08):
He is starting to fall here a little bit, so
he's at sixty seven point two his ADP. I know
we hit on him at the beginning. I can't really
see a path where I feel comfortable pressing the button
on him in almost any capacity. Just you look at
a running back who's had a history of foot injuries.
He's twenty nine years old, and he plays behind an
offensive line that maybe it proves or is still bottom
(15:29):
five in the NFL. I mean last year he got
there being on volume, but inefficient. He doesn't play on
third down, so you're not getting those potential easy receptions
out of the backfield. I'm not the biggest Woody marks person.
Speaker 2 (15:40):
By any means, but same.
Speaker 1 (15:42):
I mean, if Joe Mixon is really inefficient, I just
can't he just screams dead zone running back to me.
Speaker 2 (15:49):
Yep, yeah, I just I don't want to draft it. Man.
And like again, like I think all roads lead back
to invest more in the passing attack. And that's kind
of where I'm at with this bill too. I think
we need to go back to wide receiver. So sorted
by ADP, where are we at? Dude?
Speaker 1 (16:03):
Yeah? So we got Digs, Godwin, Golden, Agbuka Moon.
Speaker 2 (16:07):
He needs to fall in ADP. I'm not drafting Moon
either with the shoulder injury. Digs all day go tight
end as well. Kittle baby, Oh.
Speaker 1 (16:18):
Yeah we do have Kittle's right. I'm just thinking you've
got me Denver Broncos pilled.
Speaker 2 (16:23):
Sorry A lot of things. I don't want to apologize
for that. Let's go with Buka. Oh yes, I agree
here with Yeah, let's go at Buka like I'm totally
down with him. He's the upset swing as a wide receiver. Three.
Speaker 1 (16:37):
I think that he him and Matthew Golden. This was
also you guys want to go check it out. It's
on Fantasy SIPROSI The Art of our Road just kind
of breaking down the historical hit rates of some of
these rookie receivers and looking at historically the hit rates
of wide receivers drafted in the first round, regardless of
where they went in the first round. The average Fantasy
finished for a wide receiver in round one since twenty
(16:58):
thirteen is wide receiver fifty. So that's really not that
far off where at Buka and Matthew Golden are going.
And that's taking all of context of what their situation is.
Just they were a first round pick. So I think
that the floor is kind of it's not being baked
in enough where I feel like the worst case scenario,
it's like a very small loss, but best case, there's
(17:18):
a lot of ways you can see a Buka. It's
someone that I warmed onto as I've kind of cooled
off Chris Godwin where it just seems like the injury
with him is Yeah, every week they say something a
little bit different. Oh, he's going to be healthy, We're
hoping he's available for week one, and then ends up
not being I want to get your take out of Buka.
But we're up again here at eight one four. What
are you thinking here?
Speaker 2 (17:37):
It probably Josh Downs if he's still there, or Jaden Higgins.
What does quarterback ADPs look like? Because we're starting to
kind of get in the the is Party probably going
to come back? We can push it. We can push
it on Party, so we.
Speaker 1 (17:49):
Can push party. Let's take I'm good with Higgins.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
Yeah, let's take Jayane Higgins here again. We've been talking
about the Houston passing attack. Let's follow it up with
some action. Love it.
Speaker 1 (18:00):
Yeah, I know I hit at the beginning. Higgins is
just he just looks exactly like that second round receiver
Rushie Rice two years ago, lab mcconkeye last year. Where
the fact that he's the second round pick I think
makes him underwhelming or undervalued, but he was taken thirty
fourth overall. He lands on a depth chart where there's
really no one in his path. He should be a
starter from day one, opposite Nico Collins, and especially I
(18:22):
love Nico Collins. He does miss games here, every here
and there all throughout his career. He's missed a couple
games with some lower body injuries. So if this is
really a Nico Collins clone, and we're gonna get a
couple of weeks with especially if Collins out of the lineup,
I mean, Higgins should just be a smash and then
Jalen Knowle, who were definitely gonna get on the steam
as well later, so it'll be our late season hammer.
(18:43):
So very excited about that.
Speaker 2 (18:44):
But he's a Christian Kirk injury away from being this
year's Tank Dell bro like rookie season Tank Dell.
Speaker 1 (18:50):
And Christian Kirk has gotten hurt the last two seasons.
At the end of the year, he's not been available.
So let's see, all right, So we are nine picks away.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
We got a lot of outs for late quarterbacks, dude,
like with t Law Penix party like this. I'm loving
this team so far. Ericson loving it.
Speaker 1 (19:08):
Yeah, I'm glad that we pushed quarterback more than I mean,
everyone loves the elite quarterbacks.
Speaker 2 (19:14):
But I think the value is stacking stacking the regression
candidates for the passing touchdowns, like the pocket passer guys, man, Like,
they're going to freaking cheap like Dak this year, Stafford, C. J. Stroud,
like all these different guys. Man Like, that's where I
think a lot of like really like the value at
quarterback is this year. Like if you're not gonna get
one of the rushing guys or go high up, so
(19:35):
like one of the elites like in the best ball streets,
just get two or three of the guys where like
they could run a little bit and throw for a
lot more touchdowns. Dude, Yeah, you.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
Want to bet on the quarterback that's gonna have the
outlier touchdown season this year, not the guy that had
the outlier touchdown season last season who is always priced up.
Speaker 2 (19:52):
Hello Baker Mayfield, Hello Jared Goff. Those are the top quarterbacks, Like,
that's the guys. That's it.
Speaker 1 (20:02):
I hate the analysis of it where you're just copy
and pasting whoever it was good throwing touchdowns last year,
But that's just historically what has worked.
Speaker 2 (20:09):
But it's so it's true, man, Like it's you were
making minus evy decisions on a number of levels. If
you're expecting last year's production to repeat this year, like,
that's just it's just a reality.
Speaker 1 (20:21):
All right. So we're coming up here. We lost party.
Some of the quarterbacks are starting to go here, so
I'm not sure if we want to dip into the
pool again. Teams that need quarterbacks after us. So it's
Bonix Fields, Caleb Goff, I'm taking take Justin Fields.
Speaker 2 (20:36):
I'm fine taking buying the dip on Fields because we
could stack him late Toll.
Speaker 1 (20:41):
It's interesting because he's he fell because of the injury,
but he.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
Was already pice Saturday. Yeah, he's already practicing today eleven
or eleven. He's already bad. We ain't worried about no toes.
We're good, col Ridge round. If you got an issue
with toes, let's go.
Speaker 1 (20:55):
So it seems like Justin Fields is back in action.
So that's that's exciting. And now we're getting Man, I've
drafted so much justin Field. When the report came in
last week, I was terrified for the best ball shares
for Justin Field, just because.
Speaker 2 (21:09):
I wasn't freaking out. I wasn't freaking out like everybody
else in slack. I was like, hold on, hold on,
we okay. If it's not fracture, we're okay.
Speaker 1 (21:17):
All right, So we've hit every position. Now we have
two running backs one, two, three, four, five receivers, one
tight end. What are you thinking now, debro As we
kind of ranted a double digit round. So Evan Ingram's
your highest ranked guy, Javonte McCarthy, Scattaboo, Judkins two, and
so some rookie running backs. If we want to hit
another rookie running running back here, I.
Speaker 2 (21:37):
Mean, I'm I want same, I'm all over Cam'skataboo. Like,
I think I think the narrative is wrong about that room.
Ericson and I'm curious your take on it. Man, I
think the narrative is wrong about that room. I think
that people look at it as like this is gonna
be a committee, this is a thunder and lightning approach.
And I was like, I keep looking at it, and
I'm like, what in the heck has Brian dave All
(21:59):
done in his history to suggest this is going to
be a committee approach? Like last year, it was Devin
Singletary until it wasn't. It was Tyrone Tracy until it
wasn't and then it was Tyrone Tracy again previous years.
Like I'm not saying like Saquon Barkley, but just just
for quiz for everybody in chat right now, do you
know who the OC for the Peyton hillis year was?
(22:21):
I'll give you a hint. His name begins with the
B and his last name begins with the D. D
aswer everybody at home. But no, I mean like he
wants one running back and he's been enamored with that
archetype of volume compiling running back that can also play
in the passing game over numerous stops. Dude, like it
(22:42):
was Devin Singletary Zach Moss, but he wasn't good enough
to take the job in Buffalo. So there is like
a history there of him one riding one running back
in two liking lots of running backs that are very
similar to Camp's Kattabu.
Speaker 1 (22:57):
All right, folks, the team here at Fantasy Bro we're
taking questions all week every week on Twitch. So myself
and Tom Shracken we talk best Ball Mondays four o'clock Eastern,
except not this week we have Debro filling in, but
on Tuesdays and Wedndays at to Eastern Seth Wilcock and
deebro We're answering your questions here live on Twitch. We
(23:18):
also have other q and as Thursdays and Fridays at
five Eastern. Give us a follow ask questions live right
here on twitch at twitch dot tv Slash Fantasy Pros.
Back to the draft, Derek Brown, debro. We are entering
round eleven. We're up in five picks. I like the
roster so far. I'll run through it after our next
two picks here, but three running backs, five receivers, a
(23:41):
tight end, and a quarterback. What are we thinking here? Okay,
ballshell two and it's the highest ranked running back you
have also Tank Bigsby, So two Jaguars running backs. It
looks like the quarterback position we still have a shot
to take Trevor Lawrence. I'm trying to see if Penix
is still available. It looks like we still got Penix
as another.
Speaker 2 (23:58):
Guy drought out there too, like we got I'm not
worried about quarterback right now. I think we go with
with we got five wide receivers right Exon, I'm seeing
that run.
Speaker 1 (24:08):
We got five receivers. I think we go back to
running back running backs Okay, So Tooting or Bigsby if them.
Speaker 2 (24:16):
Whoever's there, and then we we revisit quarterback. I think
after that the pick after that, unless you want to
go another direction in five wide receivers, I think we're
sitting pretty good man. Yeah, and I'm totally fine with
like with I mean, we went a lead tight end.
We got Mason Rudolph. Isn't out late to I'm a
Mason Rudolf, Mason Taylor. I'm like, I'm confusing my Mason's here,
(24:37):
but Mason Taylor as a tight end two option. But yeah,
did Tank and Tooting both go? Or no, I'm wrong?
Oh no, Totons still there.
Speaker 1 (24:43):
We got both of them.
Speaker 2 (24:46):
It can't be an ericson team without a tug boat.
We got to get tugboat has to be.
Speaker 1 (24:50):
Oh no, tugboat two. And latest report dealing with a
hamstring injury.
Speaker 2 (24:56):
It's early, it's early, and as our rby four, I'm
fine with that.
Speaker 1 (25:00):
Got the hamstring injuries. Oh, de bro, you did hear
the news about Marshall Lloyd though.
Speaker 2 (25:05):
I did well. He got so he got he didn't
get carted off, he walked off. He got tackled. Like
we'll see like yes, but I was like, come on, man, like,
let let this guy stay healthy, dude. He's talented as
all get out. We just need health, man, just need help.
Speaker 1 (25:22):
All right, Where do we want to go here? I
don't know if you want to double tap running backs.
I know Tank Bixby's getting a decent amount of love
out of camp. I'm not sure if you want to
just commit to big too.
Speaker 2 (25:33):
I'm committing too, And I think, like, so, what's uh
just making sure we're not overlapping by weeks of Strouds
by week six Fields is nine. Yeah, we're good for me.
It's Stroud and then we're giving ourselves because we need
to backfill wide receivers later so we can Jalen Knowles definitely,
we could take him, even taking him aggressively, so to speak,
like a round above ADP. And I'm fine with that.
Speaker 1 (25:56):
I mean, I just I think that you hit the
point earlier when we were talking about quarter acts. How
this tier of quarterback basically kind of from QB twelve
to QB twenty just seems so rich in terms of
all the different options of guys you could see having
that outlier touchdown season. Trevor Lawrence has an improved situation,
she j Stroud if he can get back to what
(26:16):
he did his rookie year, even someone that goes outside
the top twenty, and I understand why, but someone that
we were also kind of looking at as well, Michael Pennix.
I think somebody asked in the Fantasy Pros discord about
Michael Penox and talked about how we love Drake London
so much, what is the ceiling case for penixs? And
I haven't actually had the time to respond quit because
I was kind of like thinking about it, and I
think he does have a decent amount of lopside as
(26:37):
a pass that we feel good about. The Falcons offensive
situation is just there is not a lot of rushing
juice with Michael Pennix, which maybe does cap the floor.
But if he or caps the ceiling, but if he
goes out and throws forty touchdowns, would I be like
so surprised, not necessarily especially with Bijon Again, Mooney's banged up,
but if he comes back healthy, Drake Lundon I think
(26:57):
would be a fifteen touchdown guy. So I kind of
especially best Ball is a great stacking partner.
Speaker 2 (27:03):
Yeah, I'm fine with Pinnis and I keep I keep
bringing this up, dude, and I just keep thinking that
Atlanta is the ultimate Keenan Allen landing spot. Like you
have a pocket quarterback, they have a need they now
like with Mooney, like is he gonna be healthy and stuff?
DJ Shark is really kind of kind of like be
the one for one like field stretching replacement, maybe in
that role like as a pocket quarterback like Pinnix would have.
(27:27):
I mean, it's not gonna be Coylepits. We could both
agree on that it's not gonna be Kyle Pits. So
like Keenan Allen would be fantastic in Atlanta as an
underneath option. He would fit into just what they want
to do and what they're doing with that. Before we
kind of dive through the rest of all these guys,
got to shout out all the first time chatters here, Bunting,
ff Deep, deep Water, SIMI semi good. These names always
(27:48):
give me. M Lopez love y'all and Bunting just sub man.
This is dude. I love doing all this Twitch stuff.
Just us grow in this community every time we hop
on here.
Speaker 1 (27:57):
Yeah, Twitch is a lot of funny. Remember the first
Twitch stream we did. It was from and Indianapolis, from
this random Airbnb that somehow, some way it was the
Wi Fi that could man.
Speaker 2 (28:09):
The stage we set up was pretty immaculate. Do have
to say myself, like, I thought it was pretty professional
looking considering Airbnb style.
Speaker 1 (28:16):
You know, yes, for sure. So we are up three picks.
Tank Bigsby is still on the board. He is your
highest ranked running back. Are you still committing to tune
or do you want to double dip on Jaguars running backs?
I don't necessarily heat the strategy in Best Ball, So
but here we are two picks away. He's still available.
Michael Pennix just went so we don't only have a
lot of quarterbacks. We already have our two guys that
(28:38):
we could go with. So Tank Bigsby, I mean, I'm
not gonna say no.
Speaker 2 (28:45):
Never mind what Siver look like right now? Based off
of adp Well.
Speaker 1 (28:51):
Deonday Johnson were a highest ranked guy.
Speaker 2 (28:53):
Tak ye, he is my highest.
Speaker 1 (28:55):
Uh get back Rashad White. We're our five seconds.
Speaker 2 (29:00):
Uh yeah, it's fine. We need I mean, we need
another running back. That's fine.
Speaker 1 (29:05):
Oh no, it's Matt Stafford.
Speaker 2 (29:06):
Do we get Stafford? Good? Lord? Well, I mean we
can also go with the laid out.
Speaker 1 (29:12):
We can backfill with some tutuo at well.
Speaker 2 (29:18):
Yep, both of them. I mean we could go.
Speaker 1 (29:20):
With the tight end Terrence Ferguson. So yes, uh, we
timed out there, but once okay, we'll come back strong.
We have three quarterbacks. We have Matthew Stafford who has
a terrible back. Hopefully he can bounce back from it.
Speaker 2 (29:32):
Fields past and touchdown aggression dude, So I mean it's
definitely there. I think we need another receiver for this team.
Speaker 1 (29:41):
Beck Tomorrow, Douglas, Pap Bryant, Nelan McMillan, Wandale.
Speaker 2 (29:46):
Let's go with Jack Besh.
Speaker 1 (29:48):
Besh it is for the Las Vegas Raiders.
Speaker 2 (29:53):
Because we were in the fourteenth, so we've got what
four more picks, right, not crazy?
Speaker 1 (30:00):
Yes, that is correct. Yeah, fifteen sixteen, seventeen, eighteen eighteen
round draft.
Speaker 2 (30:04):
We need to get at least one more tight end,
which I think we just need to earmark Mason Taylor
for that.
Speaker 1 (30:10):
Do you want to do Mason Taylor?
Speaker 2 (30:12):
Yeah, I'd like to correlate fields with with somebody and
plus like he'd make a lot of sense as long
as like he doesn't overlap with the bye week at
George Kittle, which I don't think he does, but correct
me if I'm wrong.
Speaker 1 (30:24):
Kittle's by week fourteen. Kittle's by week fourteen, So we
are good there. We also could I mean Terence ferguson
interesting time. Yeah, we could stack with Athay Stafford not.
I think the Jordan Winnington thing is kind of interesting,
and I actually like round eighteen.
Speaker 2 (30:38):
I like the late guys like I would. I would
like Tow too at well, because I think if if
Stafford's healthy, we're going to get some spike weeks out
of two two in that offense, it's not going to
be dependable, but like you're probably gonna get two to
three spike weeks out of him, and at where he
goes like he's paying off the ADP handily there.
Speaker 1 (30:54):
If you guys are enjoying this Best Ball live stream,
follow us you don't miss the next live stream. And again,
if you want to support the channel, watch us ad free,
consider subscribing. It helps keep these streams going. So we
appreciate everyone that's already kind of thrown in their questions
in the chat. We've got a couple of subs already know.
Debro's listed on some of the names. So uh, shaut
(31:16):
for supporting on the Yes, for supporting us on the
twitch side of things, which is a lot of fun.
And you know, Debro and I we were the we
were the pioneers here. We were the first live stream
on Twitch.
Speaker 2 (31:28):
And shout out to Cali. I saw the main account popular. Yes,
Cali so helping us set up. I know that what
Cali can attest to this? Dude? What did it take
us to maybe two and a half hours to get
that uh that makeshift studio set up the Airbnb So yes,
shout out to Cali.
Speaker 1 (31:45):
Took far too long. All right, Mason Taylor, Mason Taylor
is your highest rate guy.
Speaker 2 (31:53):
Yeah, Mason Taylor.
Speaker 1 (31:55):
Yeah, I mean we'll just take him now.
Speaker 2 (31:56):
We could take him and then we're done at tight end.
Speaker 1 (31:59):
Yeah, let's let's take Mason Taylor. Wonder when Nick the
Jalen Knowle you want to take Noel the way back?
Speaker 2 (32:05):
Yep? I would love to take Nolan the way back.
Speaker 1 (32:07):
A lot of rookies on this team. I like that
we got. We got some two pocket passers with some
some touchdown equity. Elijah Mitchell, you're seeing the rise, dude,
the rise of the Chiefs giving every running back first
team reps. Elijah Mitchell.
Speaker 2 (32:21):
There you go, Yeah, we'll see. I still kind of questioning,
like they're only going to carry so many guys on
the depth chart, Like I don't know if Mitchell even
makes the team. I'll be honest with you, like because
especially like you're looking at like I think Brichard Smith
is a lock. Looking at just the contract situations, the
only two KC backs that are under contract next year
ericson are Carson Steele and Brichard Smith. So I don't know.
(32:47):
I have a hard time, like if you're looking at
from that lens too, like they probably would keep Steel
over Elijah Mitchell. But we'll see. We'll see.
Speaker 1 (32:55):
All Right, We're gonna go with Jalen Knowle, hopefully that
he was able to fall to us here.
Speaker 2 (33:01):
Jalen Nole doing Jalen Nole type of things in practice today.
Did you see the forty yard touchdown he caught.
Speaker 1 (33:06):
Dude, he's such a baller man. I don't think he's
he's he's been falling in drafts a little bit. Boober
Shar Smith went off to the board, Dianni Brown, So
we'll walk in Jalen Nole here. I think he's such
a perfect fit with being a second half smasher. I
just think he can have such a And I know
the Texans schedule is really good in the second half
(33:27):
of the season. I believe that they play I know
I did this when I the schedule break down. They
play a ton of Dome games. So and while you're
plowing that up, I will go over our roster. So
we are sixteen rounds in. We have justin Field, C. J. Stroud,
Matthew Stafford as our three quarterbacks, Ken Walker, R. J. Harvey,
camp Scataboo Beshell Twoton has four running backs. Man, we're
really really doing rookies. Junior Drake London, Juwan Jennings, Amika Egbuka,
(33:52):
Jayson Higgins, Jack Besh, Jalen Nole, George Kittle, and Mason
Taylor round out the tight end position. We got two
picks left looks at quarterback and tight end. We're pretty
much set out, so you want to stay best available
running back in wide receiver. As we kind of round
things out here, debro.
Speaker 2 (34:06):
So, I think I'd like to correlate, like we need
another receiver. I think taking to two with our next
pick would be a good move and we'll see who's
left on the board, because i'd like to, like, I'd
like to at least like try to like skinny skinny
stack most of our guys, all of our quarterbacks, at
least like one pass catcher. And to the point about
(34:27):
the Texans schedule, I mean, dude, like whether you want
to talk about defensive matchups or you want to talk
about point totals and shootouts, this is where they're at
weeks twelve through seventeen. Buffalo Bills, the Colts, the Chiefs,
the Cardinals, the Raiders, the Chargers are I mean all
those teams. I mean, come on, you don't like to
(34:49):
have to squint hard ericson to see a lot of
like forty seven, forty eight, forty nine, fifty totals when
we get to that point of the season. Gone some
high scoring games, dude, no doubt.
Speaker 1 (34:59):
Just just need the Texans offensive line to hold up
in some capacity. The average the bed here.
Speaker 2 (35:07):
It's it.
Speaker 1 (35:08):
So we we're gonna get a Rams receiver. I think
that's safe with one of our last picks running back,
so we could go with another rookie, so Druk miss
Hunter also another Rams player, so he's available. I don't
know why I started kream hunt. That was definitely not intentional.
Speaker 2 (35:23):
Please.
Speaker 1 (35:24):
I listened a couple of other rookies, Jacory Krosky, Merritt,
who is He actually goes by the name Bill, But
every time I see anything related about that back, that's
that's his nickname, Jay Cross. His nickname is Bill, that's
what he.
Speaker 2 (35:37):
So in one weekend we find out we were from
the very beginning, we have said, uh, Bijon Robinson wrong
the entire time, and now I'm finding out Kyle manan guy.
Our guy is named Bill, Bill manang guy.
Speaker 1 (35:49):
No no, no, no, no, no, Jacory Krosskey Marrit.
Speaker 2 (35:51):
Okay, okay, Kyle, even Jazon b c M doesn't sound right? Man?
Speaker 1 (35:56):
We go are we going to to?
Speaker 2 (35:59):
Let's go to all right? Walk him in well, and
then I think we're done at wide receiver.
Speaker 1 (36:06):
I would agree. I think we do some more running
back juice here, just as a I think I was
looking at a roster because we have so many rookies.
I'm trying to think of someone that we could get
with some maybe early season production. But we're kind of
at a point where there's really no one else left
that's profilowing early season. So Hunter is gone, so we can't.
Speaker 2 (36:24):
Take him, which I'm I don't really want to go
Witdy Marx. I want one of these RB two's that
could take over with an injury. It's either Giddon's, Taj
Brooks or j CM. Probably for me, I'm cool.
Speaker 1 (36:37):
With j CM. That j CM who goes his name
is Bill Bill.
Speaker 2 (36:40):
That's now I guess we need to call it.
Speaker 1 (36:43):
No, it's no, it's not even it's just Bill, like it's.
Speaker 2 (36:46):
It's just Bill. It's not even Bill Crosskey Merrit, It's
just Bill. How do we just built? How do we
go from Jacory Crosskey Merrit to Bill? Like that feels
like have you seen Thunderbolts? Like the superhero name Bob?
Like that feels like what we're doing here, Like it's
it's Bill, Bill's scorn touchdowns this week. Baby, let's go.
Speaker 1 (37:07):
Maybe he just thought, Hey, I don't want this j
CM type of name. I just want to go buy
something more simple.
Speaker 2 (37:13):
Don't get it, Bill, don't get it. Don't get Somebody's
gonna chat because somebody's gotta google this and explain this
to me. Why is his nickname? Yes?
Speaker 1 (37:21):
Bill Seth is confirming in the chat his nickname is Bill, which.
Speaker 2 (37:27):
You expected to be the opposite.
Speaker 1 (37:29):
You expect his real name to be Bill and his
nickname to be j CM Crosskey marriage. Yeah, like this
is really unique name.
Speaker 2 (37:37):
I got a hold up, I gotta google this. This
is this is insane.
Speaker 1 (37:41):
All right, Well, Debro is doing his homework. I'm going
to read off full draft board for us because we've
completed our eighteen rounds. So Brian Thomas Junior, Drake London,
George Kittle, Kenneth Walker, R J. Harvey, Juan Jennings, Mika Egbuka,
Jadan Higgins, Justin Fields, camp Skataboo, bashall Too and c J. Stroud,
(38:01):
Matthew Stafford, Jack Besh, Mason Taylor, Jalen Nole, to to
Atwell and Cory gratzsky Merrit also known as Bill.
Speaker 2 (38:11):
I got okay, so the thing that Bill is one
of us, well actually one of the conglomerate of us.
This is what I got. Thank you Google. I got
the nickname Bill from having a bald head when I
was little Bill. It is baby and Bill, we trust
and BIHO and Uncle Joey.
Speaker 1 (38:34):
We got to get you guys all the show together.
It'd be great, dude, I got.
Speaker 2 (38:36):
I got to reach out to him now, I got
to reach out to him and talk to him about
this nickname, a funny thing like a j CM actually
followed me right after the combine, So I'll have to
slide up in those dms. Dude.
Speaker 1 (38:48):
All right, So we have wrapped up the draft here.
We got Bill as our last pick. A lot of
rookie firepower on this squad, So I'm waiting for this last,
this last pick to coming before this this. I think
this draft is officially complete. But deebro, what are your
initial thoughts on this team? And then I'll give my
thoughts after you.
Speaker 2 (39:07):
Well, my first takeaway is this is so much of
an on brand team for me, it's kind of crazy.
But the other part, dude, is I love this team.
I think structurally we hit it, we got stacks, we correlated,
we didn't lean too heavy on any bye weeks. I
love this team, man. What are your thoughts ericson so.
Speaker 1 (39:29):
Going rookie heavy? The only concern with that, oh usually
is we're taking a bigger hole to start the season
that we're trying to get out of. Now, it seems
like this team is definitely built for the second half
of the season. So it's just a matter of Harvey
Scattaboo two in or any of these guys limited in
the beginning of the season where it's more of a
(39:50):
timeshare and they're not as much bellcous as we project
them to being the second half of the season, and
can we get out of that hole potentially, or if
Walker gets banged up something like that at the beginning
of the season, like that could put us really behind
the eight ball. That's probably the only thing I would say,
probably only really at running back, but because the receiver,
we have a bunch of established players between Thomas London
(40:10):
Jennings assuming that he's healthy, and then a bunch of
rookies that seemingly have pretty easy paths like Buka could
kind of be He can have a very weird He
could have very unusual pockets of production based on because
he could start the season if Godwin's on the shelf,
and then you see him kind of falter off a
little bit in the middle and then come back. If
you know, Evans has his annual hamstring injury, you know,
(40:31):
weeks eleven through sixteen, then he kind of spikes back
up there, so I think that's kind of interesting. But ultimately, yes,
this team definitely has a lot of upside, which when
we're drafting with Derek Brown, you're always going to have
a roster filled with upside picks in rookies. So this
is a fun team to draft though, for sure.
Speaker 2 (40:49):
Yeah, dude, I mean I think like in these large
field tournaments too. For me, it's it's you're going aggressive,
you're shooting for first place, you're shooting for upside, and
how you want to do that, you know, And I
think you do that with an aggressive but also being
mindful of like how you're building your team. So it's
there's a consciousness to it where like I'm not going
to lean too far heavy to where we're just tilted
(41:13):
over on our side, you know. But at the same time,
it's like, if you want first place out of this
large of a field size, you do have to get
a little bit different. Not crazy or reckless with a bill,
but you do have to get different and you have
to shoot upside. A mayor, No, you're not getting part
of this, No, you get no cut of these million earnings.
(41:33):
You can pay the taxes though, if you choose to Mayor.
Speaker 1 (41:36):
Other interesting picks here. As I'm kind of looking at
the board, I don't know why this two sixteen pick
is not coming in. I don't know, it's just not
I don't know. It hasn't been registered yet. Maybe this
draft isn't complete. But some interesting things to note. So
Woody Marks did get selected two fifteen, so he was
the second to last pick, so not mister irrelevant, but
the next guy before mister Rollman gets selected. I kind
(41:57):
of want to see where Joe Mixon went.
Speaker 2 (42:00):
I was gonna see like Mixon, And one of the
question marks for me was where did Dylan Samson go?
Because I know with because that was the other thing.
Jerome Ford still not practicing, so curious where his ADP
is at right now.
Speaker 1 (42:11):
So Nick Chubb went at the thirteen ten at one
fifty four, so maybe he went a little bit earlier
than he usually goes, but still a very much a
late round running back selection. Dylan Samson same round round
thirteen at thirteen point three. And then Joe Mixon, I
know that he felt a little bit after his ADP.
Let's see if we can find him here. He went
(42:33):
in the seventh round seven to six, which it's again
right behind Aaron Jones and Caleb Johnson. I think i'd
I would much rather have both of those guys than
than Joe Mixon ahead of Tony Pollard and Jordan Mason.
Jordan Mason, this was pretty aggressive for him.
Speaker 2 (42:50):
That's pretty aggressive. That's very aggressive. And did you see
Darnell Mooney right below? Like Darnell Mooney's ADP, he didn't
dip at all, like based off of like the news
like he and I believe that's crazy.
Speaker 1 (43:03):
I think too. I believe that I remember seeing somewhere
that the Falcons also brought in DJ Shark. Yeah, sign yep,
they signed DJ Shark. Okay, so they said that they
were doing that anyway, But it always is a little
peculiar when you immediately sign a player after someone gets injured.
Even we saw it with the Chargers, Najie Harris seem
like he was going to miss more time. They brought
in Nim Hines. Maybe he means nothing, but maybe it means, hey,
(43:25):
they have some concern about when he's gonna come back,
or someone at least to you know, just have another
body out there during training camp. So Djhark to the
Atlanta Falcons. I don't think it's gonna do anything but
Darnold Mooney.
Speaker 2 (43:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (43:37):
Again, I think with injuries in general, I try not to.
I think that injuries from last year are kind of
a different conversation than guys that get hurt in training camp.
I think that definitely raises more red flags for me.
English going back to the mix in point, I just
could see the season being a disaster for him if
he's never really fully back from the foot injury. And
even when he is back, do we expect him to
(43:58):
just kind of get that same role as last year,
where now they have Nick Chubb who can also operate
on early downs. You know, they like Dario o'muwallee in
that third down role. Maybe Woody Marx can take on
a bigger role as a pass catcher out of the backfield.
So yeah, mix in for me as well, I moved
him outside of my top thirty running back, So yeah,
I think that that's uh, that's probably gonna wrap us
up from the draft here, Debro, do there any other
(44:20):
thoughts about any of the other picks. Some other guys
didn't get drafted, So Deanta Johnson didn't get drafted, Keen
Down didn't get drafted, more quarterbacks. Yeah, any other thoughts.
Speaker 2 (44:30):
The only other thing I'll wrap this up with is
is that there's so many good like final three, like
two to three round running backs to draft, Like pull
up the running back board here ericson like DJ Ginz
is still sitting out there. But like, I think one
of the different ways that I'm building a lot of
teams too is that you have it sorted by ADP
or is that just my ranks?
Speaker 1 (44:51):
Oh no, this is ADP okay.
Speaker 2 (44:53):
Like in these final two to three rounds, dude. Like
another way that I'm getting a little bit different in
building a lot of best ball teams is starting RBRB
depending on who's on the board, because you can make
up ground at wide receiver with volume and things like that,
especially you can even do it in the underdog streets.
But the way that like not like building like a
(45:14):
zero RB team, but like going RB RB and then
punting the running back position until your final three like
three to four rounds. Like so you're still getting six
running backs in your draft, but how you're doing that
can be different in how you're building an assembling some
of these teams because final a few rounds of your draft,
like Rashard Smith is out there, and a lot of
(45:36):
different best ball drafts. You can get Kyle Managai, you
can get Jarquest Hunter. I know Marshall Lloyd's ding dump now,
but he's been out there, DJ Gittens, Taj Brooks, jacm
or excuse me, Bill, Like a lot of these guys,
even Kendre Miller, if he's the RB two for the
Saints and Camara goes down, you can backfill and fill
out the running back room in a strong fashion to
(45:58):
where yeah, like you need some injury luck, but like
that's that's zero RB alltogether. But if you're two RB RB,
like those those anchor running backs, like you're only needing
two running backs on a weekly basis. If you get
two injuries that happen, it's a different way that I'm
going about building some of my best ball teams. And
a lot of the rbs that are available late, Like
(46:20):
there's not a lot of these wide receivers these final
few rounds, Like yeah, we went to to out well
for Spike weeks, but how many of those guys late ericson,
even in the best case of circumstances, are going to
get a twenty percent target chare even if things go
perfect for them, whereas you can fill out a lot
of your best ball rosters late with just tons of
running backs and take some running backs early. But I
(46:41):
mean your thoughts on that, because I know I'm just
taking that out of left field.
Speaker 1 (46:43):
Though, No, I think that you're onto something where you
talk about the most commonly used late round strategies. Right,
you got late round quarterback, you got late round tight end,
you got late round running back. There really isn't a
bold strategy or a commonly used strategy called the late
round wide receiver. That's not to say that there are
no late round wide receivers that can hit. There are, yep,
(47:03):
but because the position is more talent driven than the
other positions, where running backs, again, if you get enough volume,
it doesn't matter if you're good or not, like you
can score fantasy points. Tight end, if you're just running
enough routes, you can be productive in fantasy. And then
quarterback is obviously different because all quarterbacks, you know, touch
the ball essentially on every single play, So that's really
more about being efficient, and the market kind of is
(47:26):
appropriately ranking these players. So receiver, the talent pool drives
up very early on so it's hard to find guys.
I mean the pookin Nakua call that you had two
years ago, that is just something that.
Speaker 2 (47:37):
Doesn't ever happen, doesn't.
Speaker 1 (47:38):
So it was just so funny how last year where
we're just trying to find the next Pook and Nakula
when the odds are this guy probably doesn't exist. So yes,
it's it's definitely fun to have certain late round receivers
to gravitate towards and think that maybe they could be
that next wide receiver one, but more often than not,
it's just bad bets to make, and you want to
be drafting these running backs later in these rounds, whereas
(47:58):
the receivers, you're drafting Hey two to a will. He's
going to play a full time role on the Rams
and maybe has some contingent upside if there's an injury
to Devonte or Puka and he could have some splash weeks.
He's a fast receiver and they also play the Falcons
in week seventeen, so we have some correlation there with
Drake London Matthew Stafford.
Speaker 2 (48:14):
So love it.
Speaker 1 (48:15):
I think that that's a really good way to put things.
