Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome in everybody to Fantasy pros. This is the Fantasy
Football Podcast. It is me Joey P joe P Zapia,
and it's time to look ahead to the waiver wire
for Week four in the NFL. We had a million
block kicks, we had a million injuries we're gonna have
to deal with. And don't worry, everybody, the cupboard is
not quite bare. It's not as bad as it might seem.
There are some names that can help your fantasy teams

(00:23):
pull out of a tailspin. And to help us find
those names, of course, Debro, Derek Brown, the King of Bros,
and my Patty Cakes Pat Fitz Morris. Pat is unfortunately
not as happy this morning after a loss to the
Cleveland Browns for his Green Bay Packers, And I thought
I would troll him by wearing my Vikings shirt today,
but apparently he won a ton of money in the
Vikings yesterday, So I guess it was kind of a

(00:44):
push for you in week three.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
Fancy, Yeah, it kind of was.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
And I told this story to deebro on our Friday
show where you know our daughter was born in two
thousand and five on a Sunday, and that Sunday, the
Packers went out and lost to the Browns in Cleveland,
to the Trent Dilfer led Cleveland Browns.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
Trying to read like three touchdowns in that game.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
Twenty years later, a couple days after our daughter celebrated
her twentieth birthday, the Packers go out and lay another
egg in Cleveland.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
So I guess it's a twenty year thing.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
It's like a cicada cicada infestation.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
Oh my goodness. Well there were some fun things though.
It wasn't all doom and gloom. In Week three, Camps Scattaboo,
my boy de bro, I'm so excited, you know, I
kept saying, you know, everybody wrote the kid off in
high school, everybody wrote them off of college, everybody's writing
them off on the pros. Scores a touchdown, does a backflip.
I mean, it's the only good thing really to happen
for the New York Giants last night. But it was fun,
and I just want to I just want to talk
about camps Kataboo because he's a good.

Speaker 4 (01:41):
Time, a lot of fun. Tonessetter Man. I just love
all the videos that have come out, whether it's been
like him grabbing rust by the jersey him timing up
is Sally with the fireworks. I know that you didn't
really really do that, but it was really cool to see.
And the day Ball press conference one still gets me.
If y'all have not seen this video, please go out
there and watch this. Dave Ball is talking to the reporters.

(02:03):
He stopped for a second and smirks, and Camscataboo is
in the back of the room going, dude, it's at
least somebody's excited about Giants football. At least somebody it's
fan based and football. Y'all need this energy. You need.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
What was the tweet that that you said? It was
something about like, uh was the Camscataboo.

Speaker 4 (02:22):
There's there's what?

Speaker 3 (02:24):
So someone tweeted that there are two types of white
running backs cerebral thinkers like McCaffrey and then there's just
absolute cran eaters like Scataboo.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
Yes, like Cam'scataboo.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
I have to shout out, Joe, I know you were
a big scataboo guy. And Scott Fogman, my Dynasty podcast partner.
Bogman was all over Scataboo and we would have off
season superflex mock rookie drafts and Bogman would take Scataboo
at like eight or nine every time and would just
absolutely get crushed in the YouTube and Twitter comments for

(03:00):
I mean, just destroyed. Like I hope those people are
circling back to apologize. They well, Scott Bogman, he just
knew Man, knew you well.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
Bogman. I used to talk about him all last year.
Last November we were talking about it. We're like, you
know what, I don't think anyone's gonna stop this kid
for being It's not gonna be a long career maybe,
but it's gonna be a fun one while it lasts.
All Right, We've got a lot of players to get
to and I know you want help on that, so
we're gonna get to that. But first, let's give away
the Wallsmack that we were plugging last week on the

(03:28):
show in all week long. So the Trophy Smack Wallsmack

heavy this thing is. I've got two of them myself.
They're amazing. I love them a couple expert League championships.

of content on the channel, and of course, we will
be alerting you if you are the big winner, just
like Michael was, so if the next winner could be
you of the Fantasy Football Championship belt. Let's get to
the waiver Wire ad of the week, gentlemen, because we've
got two running backs out for the year. We've got

(04:55):
Ceedee Lamb out for probably six weeks with a high
anglest brain. I don't care what anybody. Don't listen to
what Jerry Jones tells you about that. I think he
can still play. I think he's gonna be all right.
Don't worry about it. Seedee Lamb's got special ankles. His
ankles are special. Don't worry about him. It's gonna be
all right. Don't listen to him. He's wrong. By the way,
I can't wait for my Jerry Jones shirt to arrive
in the mail from Debro for my birthday.

Speaker 4 (05:16):
Yeah, it's in transits, waits.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
They cannot wait anyway. We are doing the waiver Wire
ad with a caveat because we couldn't believe this guy
was still available as widely as he was, and it's
more of a public service announcement. The player we're gonna
talk about first is still fifty percent rostered already in sleeper,
that's too low. But on Yahoo he was just twenty
one percent rostered. And we've talked about him since freaking August.

(05:40):
I mean, we were talking about back in Draft season two.
It's elk Ao Manor of the Tennessee Titans wide receiver,
and we just keep coming back and forth. We can't
believe that he's still And I understand, like Yahoo's got
some ten team leagues in it, a lot of them,
and shallow play and all this stuff, but it just
feels like, come on, man, at this point, like he
is consistently getting targets, he's got act about games with touchdowns, deebro.

(06:02):
It just seems like Laao Manor. People don't want to
buy in because it's the Tennessee Titans. And I just
think that's flat out wrong because Aomanor is proving that
he can be a fantasy asset right now and there's
room to grow. It's only September. Things can only possibly
get better for him and Kim Ward, who's had the
worst possible schedule to open up. I mean, what the
Denver Broncos and Sean Payton on the road and then

(06:23):
Sean McVay the next week and the Rams. This poor kid,
I want to send him an edible arrangement. Has been
a horrible start to the year for him. Because of
these matchups, things will get better for cam Ward and
for Lakao matter, don't you think?

Speaker 4 (06:36):
Oh absolutely, man, And yeah, we're talking about a guy
that should not be out there in as many leagues.
And I mean Pat was given flowers to Cam Skataboo
and Scott Bogman at the beginning of this Pat was
all over Aoman or the entire pre draft process. Love
the kid, and the upside is definitively there. Like, we're
also talking about a guy that has been wide receiver
twenty five, wide receiver twenty four in weekly scoring over

(06:57):
the last two weeks. And I understand them, like touchdowns
are part of that. But Calvin really looks like he
didn't have any juice left. Man, So we're talking about
aomnnor like he's getting targets he can earn more moving
forward and whether and I think that, like what you
talked about, Joe really needs to be a big part
of this conversation. Cam Ward, better days should be ahead,
like this could be the very bottom basement level of

(07:20):
the quarterbacking play for him that we see right now
throughout the rest of the season. So the better he plays,
the more reps he gets, the better it is for
Elick moving forward to Yeah, I mean.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
Looking ahead to the schedule too. They got the Texans.
Cardinal's defense is pretty good, but then they played Las Vegas.
The Patriots have been up and down this year, Like
I just feel like it was a really tough start
to the year. But aoman or a player that I
know what we've talked about on this show over and
over again, so I don't spend too much time on him.
But pat I understand maybe after week one people didn't
want to hear it. After we two he's scoring a touchdown,

(07:52):
maybe people were listening. But now it's unfortunate because if
you didn't add him these last couple of weeks for
basically a buck or two, I feel like now it's
going to cost you a little bit, especially because we
had multiple wide receiver injuries. Right Mike Evans is hurt,
CD Lamb is hurt, Terara mcclaurin might be out like
all of a sudden. Now people are looking at that
waiver wire and if aomn are still out there now,
it's going to cost you triple the cost.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
Yeah, it's possible.

Speaker 3 (08:15):
Like Iamnor is already the Titans best receiver a touchdown
in back to back weeks. He's got two more catches
than Calvin Ridley after two weeks, and we haven't gotten
the air yards numbers yet for week three, but Imanner
after two weeks had an air yard share of about
forty one percent, which ranked sixteenth in the league.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
He's just such a physical.

Speaker 3 (08:35):
Receiver that it's not hard to imagine him being a
prolific touchdown scorer throughout his career. I mean, the only
real concern I have with Iomanner is that he's a
pretty deep a dot right now. His average depth of
target is thirteen point four yards, and it's obviously harder
to complete deeper throws. And Iomanner is working with a

(08:55):
rookie quarterback cam Ward. Not that word can't make those throws,
but the deep average depth of target suggests that maybe
Iomaner's production could be a little inconsistent week to week.
But two touchdowns and I think they're going to be
more to come.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
All right, more to come for Laao man Or let's
switch gears and take a look at the RBS who
could help us potentially in Week four. And we talked
about it on a couple shows. I know, Deeber and
I talked about on some of the live streams last week.
This is why you subscribe to the channel, watch the
live streams. I said, Look, if they don't the Dolphins
don't start getting Ali Gordon some action here, what the
hell are we doing? What was that preseason for? And

(09:32):
I know, Pat, you've had some issues with Gordon and
you weren't like as big of a fan. But again,
I'm old enough to remember two years ago in college
when he was one of the most coveted running backs
out there in college football, and then a down season
last year and then a brilliant preseason, and like, if
you were going to try to stay in games, if
you are the Dolphins, with the defense you have, you
have to keep running the football more. And I think
there was a really evident moment in that Bills game

(09:53):
on Thursday night where Devon Han got picked up I
don't remember who picked him up and basically threw him
basically three yards back, and I'm watching it going, yeah,
like that's not what you need to be doing with
Devon a Chan. You can't do that stuff with him.
You need another complimentary back like the most Sturts of
the world and somebody like it. Oli Gordon nine carries

(10:13):
for thirty eight yards and a touchdown. Do you think, Pat,
now you're going to see potentially a little bit more
Ali Gordon after the Dolphins hung in that game with
the Bills and looked a little bit better.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (10:24):
Maybe, I mean, you've got to play a Chan a
lot because the guy's just so explosive. Of course, he's
such a big component of what Miami does on offense.
But Ali Gordon's skill set compliments Devon a Chan's really
nicely this big thumper to go with the smaller, quicker guy.
So Olli Gordon should get regular work and maybe be
kind of a guy with fringy standalone value. Now the

(10:48):
contingent value, though, Alli Gordon would clearly be the guy
if anything happened to a Chang, because we saw Jalen
Wright come back from injury last week didn't get on
the field. Gordon is clearly ahead of Jalen Wright at
this punk. Yeah, and you know a Chen is a
sub two hundred pound running back who's not exactly built
like a bowling ball and is routinely getting tackled by

(11:08):
guys who weigh on a hundred pounds more than he does.
So not a bad idea to have the guy who
would benefit if something were to happen to Chan.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
Yeah, if you want to keep a Chan up and running,
you have to make sure you kind of spread the
wealth just a little bit, you know, and especially in
certain circumstances. Deebro he's thirty one percent rosters. Let's talk
about the FABS spend on a guy like Ali Gordon. Obviously,
maybe a little bit more aggressive if you have a Chan.
But right now there's a lot of teams that are
looking for some help at RB. We've lost Austin Eckler,

(11:37):
we've lost Connor, we've lost Nausey Harris, We've lost a
lot so far to start the season. Unfortunately.

Speaker 4 (11:43):
No, absolutely, and then you have other backfields, like does
anybody feel good starting Bill right now? With Washington dissolving
into like a three way committee. So Ali's definitely like
he's definitively moving forward like a touchdown dependent flex with
massive contingent upside. So no, totally fine with like, I mean,
if you've got a chan maybe like six to seven percent,

(12:04):
but probably somewhere in that three to six percent range,
depending on what your running back room looks like and
who's on your roster and stuff. I mean, do you disagree, Pat.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
No, I don't.

Speaker 3 (12:13):
And if you're planning this out in week five, when
the first to the bye weeks hit, the Dolphins get
the Carolina Panthers and they're notoriously soft run defense, So
that could be a game where you could use Ali
Gordon if you're getting socked, Like if you're a Josh
Jacobs investor, because the Packers are on buy and week five,
you might want to have Ali Gordon as a guy

(12:34):
you can plug in when Jacobs goes on.

Speaker 4 (12:36):
Bod that fits he has the Packers schedule memorized or anything.

Speaker 1 (12:39):
Well, of course he does. Yeah, apparently the Falcons didn't
get the memo that you can run the football on
the Carolina Panthers. They're the only ones who didn't know
that that was the thing you could do if they
gave up three thousand yards last year, three thousand on
the ground. Yeah, let's throw the ball over the place.
That seems like a great idea. Absurd. All right, you
mentioned the commander's backfield, so we're gonna jump ahead to
those guys, going to save him for later. But since

(13:01):
Debro you already brought them up, it did feel a
little bit more committee.

Speaker 5 (13:04):
Issh.

Speaker 1 (13:04):
I gotta tell you, I'll take the l on Jeremy McNichols. There,
he's eleven percent rostered right now. He did take the
Austin Echler role in completion, it felt like now Mariota
was playing quarterback. So I don't know if it changes
with Jayden Daniels. I think that's the one thing that
you step away and you go, okay, is this an
illusion or is this just how the offense ran with
Mariota McNichols certainly eight Chris Rodriguez worked as well. He

(13:28):
is just ten percent rostered. So talk to me about
this full blown committee here. If Rodriguez and McNichols, and
from the likes of it, they're on the waiver wire,
are still available, how do you approach them in week four? Here? Deebro,
who's the guy that you prefer? Is it format based
or is it something totally different in your mind?

Speaker 4 (13:47):
See for me, it's if McNichols and Rodriguez are both
out there on the waiver wire. I'm going to prioritize
Rodriguez or for McNichols only because we do know the
role that he's going to play, and it's probably not
gonna be the red zone role. Mcnick played twenty percent
of the snaps. He had the big run, but only
four carries and seventy eight yards. There wasn't a whole
lot of kicking in with the passing game, and that

(14:07):
could be more of a product of Mariota because Jayden
and Daniels will feature the running backs in the passing
game more. But for me, give me the guy that's
probably more likely going to get the goal line usage
if everything turns in his favor. So I'm moreuckly to
pick up Rodriguez just looking at like if Bill were
to miss time, if anything changes about this backfield, I
think Rodriguez is the guy that I feel better about

(14:27):
his weekly volume moving forward if that's how it shakes out.
So probably just a small spind You're probably not gonna
have to pay up heavy for him, Probably like three
to five percent maybe in some leagues if you know
running backs decimated, maybe six to seven percent.

Speaker 1 (14:41):
Pat what's your take on these two guys McNichols and
Rodriguez and the Commander's backfield, because and also too, if
you could throw in your take on to Corey Krossky
Merritt at this stage in the game too.

Speaker 3 (14:50):
I was pretty shocked to see Chris Rodriguez start that
game yesterday and then get the first same touch for
the Commanders. I was watching that, I'm like, wait a second,
that's not Bill.

Speaker 2 (15:02):
So I'm with Debro.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
I think I would rather roster Chris Rodriguez. I think
Jeremy McNichols can make decent PPR duct tape if you've
got a hole in your backfield and just kind of
give you eight or nine points. And but like McNichols
would not really gain substantial value if anything were to
happen to either of the other guys. He's just gonna

(15:24):
stay the passing down back. Maybe he gains a couple
of snaps and touches a game, But it's really sort
of the balance of power between Rodriguez and Jackry Krosky
Merit that we have to watch right now. I don't
think either of them are ideal starts, just because they're
they're splitting this, but I don't know we have we
have pretty low suggested bids, like I don't want to

(15:45):
go over five percent. I don't think for either of
these guys, quite honestly, just because it's so messy.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
All right, you the master of metaphor, Pat, don't let
anybody tell a different smith at wordsmith. Let's talk about
a couple of handcuffs too, just to go quickly through this.
We talked about Blake cor last week. Roster percentage didn't
move a whole lot, but he continues to get work.
Eight carries for fifty three against the Eagles on Sunday,
and then Braylan Allen also Currently both of these guys

(16:11):
rostered under forty percent. Braylan Allen thirty seven, play Korum
twenty eight over on sleeper. Again, we use the sleeper
ones because that's typically a little bit more active, but
you'll always see Yahoo ESPN. These roster percentages are much lower.
And then Braylen Allen six carries for thirty. So Pat,
in the interest of handcuffs, if both these guys are
out there, or you say, looking ahead to backfields where
you might be able to at some point use one

(16:33):
of these guys a little bit more. Cooram or Braylan Allen.
Who do you think has more value this season?

Speaker 3 (16:39):
Corem because well, I mean, Sean McVay has committed to
he is kind of a monogamous guy with his running backs.
He likes the one running back approach, and that is
a really good offense. So if anything happened to Kyra
and like Korum would instantly be a guy you're probably
ranking weekly as a top fifteen running back, whereas Braylen Allen,

(16:59):
Like I think if bres Hall went down, it's probably
going to be some sort of combination of Braylon Allen,
Isaiah Davis and we've heard Aaron Glenn talk about wanting
to use multiple backs.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
Plus the Jets offense just isn't that good.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
No, it's not, but they almost pulled a rabbit out
of their hat yesterday. Crazy day football yesterday. De bro
Alan or Koram for you, because you seem to have
quite a reaction from Pat's answer.

Speaker 4 (17:23):
So I don't disagree about korm owning that backfield and
him being the clear handcuff. I lean to Braylon Allen
only because look at the upcoming schedule, guys, he gets
the Dolphins the Cowboys, the Broncos. You could run on
the Broncos, the Panthers, and then the Cincinnati Bengals. If
Breece Hall were to miss any time, tell me which
one of those matchups, any of those matchups, are you

(17:46):
that supremely worried about on the ground for that running back.
So for me, it's it just comes down to, like, yeah,
the backfield. But if we like put both these guys
in a vacuum and say, okay, I mean I really
and it's not to say korum schedule is like inc
ridibly difficult, but I'm just gonna kind of lean on
the schedule. If Breeze haul Ward of miss any time,
Brailan Allen has just a runway of amazing matchups oort

(18:07):
of the next like five weeks.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
I get it.

Speaker 3 (18:08):
I Mean my only thing is I think, like, if
the starters were to go down, I think Korum is
a pretty good bet for around twenty touches and maybe
Brylin Allen fourteen fifteen.

Speaker 4 (18:19):
Okay, no, I don't disagree with that.

Speaker 1 (18:21):
All right, Let's talk about getting ahead of the curve too,
because I think it's always important not just to look
at the guys who might be able to impact this week,
but maybe in the future.

Speaker 5 (18:27):
Two.

Speaker 1 (18:28):
And once again, like the amn Or conversation, let's get ahead.
Let's let's also, you know, try to put guys on
a roster that are helpful as assets, even for trades,
even if we don't need assets necessarily and our team
is three and not to start the year, I want
to talk about two running backs kalaman on guy who
is twenty three percent roster of the Chicago Bears, and
then I want to talk about Woody Marks of the
Houston Texans, who are now zero to three and he

(18:49):
is under twenty percent roster, just that nineteen right now
on sleeper. So Nick Chubb, I think we'd all agree,
is getting by like it's fine. Offensive line is in
great Chubb is not what he used to be. We
all knew that was going to be the case at
his age, with the massive injuries that he had. At
what point does it feel like they're going to start
evaluating things at oen three as the Texans and starts saying, okay,

(19:11):
let's find out what we have in Woody Marks here
and see if we can get him a little bit
more action. And then also the health of DeAndre Swift
has been a little questionable to start the year. He's
another running back that's been around the block for a
little while. Here there's room for Manong Guy because it
seems like Roshan Johnson is persona non grada, So at
some point maybe these guys are both insurance policies. Debro,
talk to me about Marx and Manoguay, what you think

(19:33):
people should be doing with them. Should they just be
left on the waiver lion monitored or should they be
rostered this week in particular, especially with so many running
back injuries already occurring in Week three.

Speaker 4 (19:42):
Both should be on rosters. Just looking at straight HANDCUF
value and then plus like even the flex value moving forward,
like Woody Marx quietly played last week forty seven percent
of the snaps. He had seven touches, dude, like, and
we know, really his utility is in the passing game.
So while you look at Mano guy like not a
prolific pass catcher in college, I don't think he does

(20:04):
that in the NFL. Plus all the pass game options
with the Bears. If one of these guys could take
over backfield and play all three downs and be an
asset in the passing game. I think it's what he
marks and I think his snapshare, Like, if you're deciding
between both of these guys, it's what he marks over
manog Guy. But the answer is both.

Speaker 1 (20:21):
Okay, Pat, what's your answer to this question?

Speaker 2 (20:23):
I want manang Guy.

Speaker 3 (20:24):
And it's a big part of it is just not
thinking DeAndre Swift is very good and there's some metrics
that point out the Bears have been really good at
getting DeAndre Swift yards before contact so far. Like the Bears,
I think are are one of the leading teams in blocking.
Basically it's it's a few yards before DeAndre Swift is

(20:47):
hitting contact, but then his metrics wants he gets contact,
they're terrible. And like, I just think Manonguy is a
better runner. And also if we're if we're filtering for
offensive line play here, like that certainly makes Woody Marx
and also I'll throw on Alie Gordon a little less appealing.

(21:07):
But Kyle Manangay would have a pretty good offensive line
in front of him if he ever usurped DeAndre Swift,
Like the Bears completely built the middle of that offensive line.
And free agency with Joe Thuney, Chris Dolman Jonah Jackson,
So like Mananga is absolutely my favorite Vulture play at
running back right now, and I'm trying to get him.

Speaker 1 (21:29):
Yeah, that's another one of my favorite last draft picks
in drafts. He's to go back and watch those drafts
all the Mananga I could have. I just waiting for
that to turn around. And one more point I want
to make too. And you're seeing this so much in
the NFL the last couple of years, especially now that
you have moved to the seventeen game schedule. If you've
got rookie running backs, you need to be patient. You know,
college kids play about twelve games a year. You know,

(21:49):
you want to count bowls or college playoffs, however you
want to count it. Right. Basically, September is like a
red shirt month for these kids where they just kind
of sit there and they kind of take it in
and all that stuff, and some of them work more
than others. But if you've got the Travon Henderson's and
the RJ. Harvey's of the world, and you haven't seen
like what you've seen out of Skataboo yet or what
you're gonna see now by default out of a Mario Hampton,
I think it's part of the plan, and we saw

(22:10):
it last season, and I think you're gonna see more
of it because when they ran Damien Pierce out of
the gate right, they ran him into the ground and
he never was never recovered from it. Not that he
was great to begin with, but you saw he hit
Week twelve and it was just done that year as
a rookie. And I think you're seeing the NFL understand. Okay,
rookie running backs. We've got to just gauge ourselves, be
a little bit more cautious. It's a long season, especially

(22:33):
for those teams that have playoff hopes like the Chargers.
Now they're backs against the wall. Now they're gonna have
to play with Mario and Hampton every single time, so
a little bit different scenario. But just be patient and
by keep buying the rookie running backs, I think eventually
it turns. I want to talk to everybody about the
sponsor of our show before we get to the wide
receivers to discuss, and we've got a lot of them.

Let's talk about the wide receivers, and let's talk about
the potential for fool's gold with Luther Burden twenty five

(24:43):
percent roster not on the field a ton, he's been
super efficient. Jake Ceely and I did the short version
Waiver Wire pod and we touched on this, and Jake
brought up a really interesting point Pat, which is, you know,
he kind of compared Burden to if he's going to
be this kind of efficient, it's like almost like a
Tyler Boyd where you could never really start him, but
he would get fantasy points and you get really frustrated

(25:03):
sometimes when he did. I understand that, but I also
understand the Bears has some draft capital when it came
to Luther Burden. So how do we parse these two
things and how do we spend on him in a
week where people are gonna be looking for wide receivers
and they're gonna see Luthor Burden out there in seventy
five percent of league.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
He is a stash.

Speaker 3 (25:19):
If anyone wants to throw big money at him, based
on the three catches for one hundred and one yards
and a touchdown he had in Week three, let them
if you get him, get him cheaply, because like He's
interesting for sure. I mean, Burden is a playmaker, but
he only played twenty nine percent of the Bears offensive
snaps in Week three. His seventeen snaps were half as

(25:40):
many as lamide as a Chaos. So I do think
Burden eventually overtakes a Chaos to be the main slot
receiver for the Bears, But right now he's just not
getting enough snaps for you to play him.

Speaker 1 (25:50):
He's a stash, all right, So we're stashing Luthor Burden here. Deebro,
what are your thoughts on Burton?

Speaker 4 (25:56):
Yeah, same to what Pats echoing, like, like, I'm not
gonna go out there and chase like this just feels
like chasing the stat line of one hundred receiving yards.
And if you're a team that's sitting at like three
and oh, then fine, Like and you have a wide
receiver need you're playing for the back end of the season,
that is totally fine. If you're an zero to three
team and you're saying, oh, Luther Burton weekly flex play,

(26:18):
let's go, then no, you don't need to be spending
high on him. You need other players that are going
to actually play. This is a team where like or at least,
Luther Burton is a player that I want to pick
up if I'm three and oh, or I'm two and
one and I'm looking at the stretch run for my
team and I'm looking ahead already versus if I need
weekly flex plays like right now, like walking into bye weeks.

(26:39):
Burn's not the top of that list, all.

Speaker 1 (26:40):
Right, So burden off the top of your list. Let's
talk about some of the other guys here. Alec Pierce
the all these guys by the way under ten percent roster,
and Pierce at nine, Tory Horton at eight percent roster,
Trey Tucker coming off a big day two six percent rostered,
and Taekwon Thornton just two percent rostered. He is I look,
he had one amazing catch, one amazing almost catch back
to back weeks with a big splash play. But it

(27:02):
feels like chasing our tail with some of these guys
to me. Between Pierce, Tucker, Thornton and Horton, Horton is
the guy that is most appealing to me by a
mile now, especially in leagues where you get anything for
return yards too, because now returns are a thing again
and fantasy leagues, some of them do reward you for that,
So keep that in mind. But yesterday another four catch

(27:23):
effort for Horton, another touchdown for him. That's back to
back weeks with a touchdown, And I get it. Cooper
Cup is still there. I understand that, but Horton's getting
a lot of time on the playing field debro and
it also feels like if the only thing standing between
him and a big, explosive rookie season is Cooper Cupp.
I'm willing to roll the dice on that because Cup's
injury history and performance of the station's career is nowhere

(27:44):
near what it used to be. So what are your
thoughts on this collection of players? Who do you want
to chase? Who do you want to avoid? Thornton, Tucker, Horton, Pierce.
Give me your discussion points on that.

Speaker 4 (27:55):
I'm avoiding Sterling Shepherd, I'm avoiding Alec Pierce. The Colts
are actually running a committee Michael Pittman, so none of
those guys are really getting full time snaps, So I'm
not chasing stat lions for either one of those guys. Sheppard,
I think took advantage of Brandon Stevens, who's been god
awful opposite Sauce Gardner. So Tory Horton is the guy
that sticks out here, I mean eight percent rostered. I think,

(28:16):
like you know, going five to eight percent for a
bid on fab of him is absolutely real. If people
are looking at the snapshare, I want to be very
clear about this. Seattle pulled their starters because they were
absolutely just stomping the Saints. When the starters were out there,
Tory Horton had a seventy two percent snapshare, So don't
let the ending numbers lie to you. And like Joe's

(28:37):
talking about, I mean, like we just talked about, talked
up alic Ami Manner as the top pickup of the weekend.
If he's out there, Tory Horton's put up very similar
stat lines with touchdowns in each of the last two weeks.
And Cooper Cup's health, we cannot bank on that, Like,
is Cooper Cup gonna be healthy and in the lineup
in week fifteen, Week sixteen, a week fourteen, I don't know.
I can't tell you that that he definitively will be

(28:59):
or that Horton because of being a talented rookie, and honestly,
like we talked about in pre draft, pat like dude's
got the talent. He was just hurt going into the
pre draft process and stuff. So Horton is the guy
that sticks out, and before you know, Patty gets in
here and talks about these guys too. I really want
to give the PSA also because I know the monster
game that he had. I'm not chasing Trey Tucker on

(29:20):
the wave of a wire. I want to be very
clear about that. I'm not doing it. I think this
is an absolute and ridiculous outlier game. We are discussing
a player that prior to Week three had zero point
nine to nine yards per route run in his career,
a thirteen percent target per route run rate. He had
twenty two games before this last week with sixty percent
or more of the snaps in only four of those games.

(29:44):
How do he eclipse sixty receiving yards? So, fools, Gold,
I'm not chasing Trade Tucker. I am buying into Tory Horton.

Speaker 1 (29:50):
Well, I'm glad you threw Sheppard into that mix too.
He is just two percent rostered. He's another free square
and obviously Tampa with the Mike Evans hamstring issue going on,
he is going to get some work I think in
fourteen team leagues He's pbably a streamer for this week,
especially since Igbuco, although he played great, wasn't one hundred
percent going into that game to begin with. There were
some questions on what kind of snap count he was
going to be on. But Shepherd feels like a guy. Okay,
maybe a streamer for a week or two if you

(30:12):
need him. But the upside is probably a wide receiver
for ish like somewhere in that range. But we've seen
him be productive before in weird circumstances with Baker Mayfield.
But Pat, let's talk about some of these guys too,
because Shephard Thornton obviously some big splash plays back to
back weeks. That's going to grab a lot of attention,
especially on a standalone primetime game. It shouldn't have an impact,
but it does because more eyeballs are seeing it. So

(30:35):
people say, oh, Taekwon Thornton looks great, right and he
is what I Xavier Worthy was supposed to be in
this offense and right now he's filling that role. I
don't know how long it lasts, but to me, Horton
is the clear guy that I would be circling and
bidding hard on. What do you think about Horton, And
then what do you think about the rest of this
cluster of wide receivers, Pierce Tucker against Thornton Shepherd, Even
these guys are kind of free squares.

Speaker 3 (30:56):
I agree Horton is the most interesting in this group
by far, just a good prospect, no worse than number
three in Seattle's wide receiver packing order, and he could
easily pass Cooper Cupp. And we saw Sam Darnold make
number two Vikings receiver Jordan Addison a weekly must start
last week, So I'm not worried about like Horton not
being able to I don't mind that he would be

(31:18):
the clear number two behind Jackson Smith and jakeba put
it that way, even with oh And I was just
gonna say about yeah, yeah, I mean, I wouldn't chase
Sterling Shepherd. I kind of agree with what Deebro was
saying last night when we were talking about this for
the Waiver article that like Kate Otten probably stands to
benefit more than Sterling Shepherd from the absence of Mike

(31:38):
Evans and maybe Chris Godwin not being ready to come
back in. Just to put a fine point on the
Trey Tucker thing, like one hundred and forty five receiving
yards three touchdowns. Yes, and he did play ninety four
percent of the offensive snaps, as many as Jacobe Myers did.
But like in three thirty five previous NFL games, Tucker
had six touchdown catches. He's never had double digit targets

(32:01):
in a game. The eight catches yesterday were a career high.
I just think this was kind of a one off
that's not worth chasing. We always say, don't chase last
week's point points, and I think this is a classic example.
I mean, Trey Tucker is five eight and one hundred
and eighty two pounds, Like how many receivers that tiny
er reliable fantasy assets. He's just not built for volume,

(32:22):
and you know it's just going to be real scattershot production.

Speaker 4 (32:27):
Pat, I think to your point, that was more of
a reflection of the commander's secondary than it had said
anything about Trey Tucker to me, h.

Speaker 1 (32:33):
Fair, fair, But that's something that'd be targeting as we
go ahead to and start in situations in the next
couple weeks ahead. In deeper leagues two, obviously more injuries
are opening up more opportunity if indeed we do have
McLaurin out, and obviously we're gonna have Cdee Lamb out,
Jalen Tolbert two percent roster, Luke McCaffrey one percent roster.
Pat any interest in like fourteen team leagues and these

(32:53):
guys were they're worth a roster spot even.

Speaker 3 (32:56):
Yeah, I think Tolbert because now it's it's down to
Pickens and Tolbert, and Pickens has never been a volume guy. Now,
the matchups aren't great the next two weeks with the
Packers and the Jets, but like I.

Speaker 4 (33:07):
Do well the Jets though he gets he's gonna get
Brandon Stevens.

Speaker 2 (33:10):
Yeah, that's the true sauce. Is gonna be on Pickings,
That's true. Good point.

Speaker 3 (33:13):
So, yeah, I don't love the matchup for Tolbert this
week on a short week against the Packers, but maybe
in weeks week five.

Speaker 2 (33:21):
And I don't know.

Speaker 3 (33:23):
About McCaffrey not not kind of buying in right now.
I'm actually kind of more interested in Jalen Lane, the rookie.
I think he might be more of a playmaker. But
I don't know if I'm going to go for any
of the available Commanders wide receivers.

Speaker 1 (33:37):
Deebro Any thoughts on Tolbert and McCaffrey.

Speaker 4 (33:40):
Yeah, I like Tolbert. I don't want to flex him
this week against the Packers, but against the Jets, Dude,
Brandon Stevens has been god awful man like walking into
this last week eighty percent catch rate, one forty five
pass rating. The Jets probably wish they had never signed
that give him that contract. So Tolbert's definitely flex fible.
And yeah, McCaffrey, like he was fourth on the team
and snaps only ran eleven routes. I think it's more

(34:01):
of just a one off.

Speaker 1 (34:03):
All right, let's talk about guys to drop. I want
to know if you're holding or dropping some of these guys.
Let's start with two running backs, Dylan Samson, Tyler Algier.
Would you stay the course with these guys debro or
did you drop him back to the waiver wire with
the emergency Judkins? And obviously you know at some point
if you have injuries, it's nice to have Algiers an
insurance policy handcuff, but you might not have that luxury
with the rest of your squad being hurt. Now, with

(34:24):
all the injuries we've had in the first couple of
weeks of.

Speaker 4 (34:27):
The season, Yeah, Algier just depends on like what what
does the options look like on the waiver wire? And
if you have Bjeon, would you drop him for Ali Gordon?
Oh yeah, I would drop him for Alie. I would
drop him for any one of the others. Would you
drop him for Woody Marks? Okay, so that's that's the case.
More utility. Absolutely, I would be dropping him Samson. I
mean I talked about it in week one, dude, like

(34:47):
his production in week one was kind of fraudulent, like
he got eight targets on fourteen routes, and then last
week I talked about it in the Preme or two
like Jerome Ford was the passing down back. Dylan Samson
is droppable, Like I'm sorry, Like it's just a fact people,
So I'd be dropping him. It wouldn't even have a
problem with it at all.

Speaker 1 (35:05):
Pat. Let me get your take on these wide receivers,
Marvin Mims, Jayden Higgins, Kirk returned obviously Franklin starting to
emerge there for the Broncos. Would you drop Mims and
Higgins right now? Where you stay on the course with
those guys?

Speaker 3 (35:16):
Oh man, I'm such a Marvin Mims fan, But yeah,
he's an explosive playmaker, but if you have to make room.
I mean, he's only playing about half of Denver's offensive snaps,
maybe less every game. Sean Payton is giving Trench sure
Field the way too many snaps. It's just kind of annoying.
And he's kind of made his decision with Troy Franklin
being the number two guy behind Cortland Sutton.

Speaker 2 (35:38):
And yeah, I think drop Higgins.

Speaker 3 (35:40):
I mean, I think Nico is the only worthwhile Texans
receiver maybe Christian Kirk in deeper leagues.

Speaker 1 (35:45):
So you would drop Mims for Horton, right, I think
I would? I would.

Speaker 2 (35:51):
I think that.

Speaker 4 (35:53):
We've seen a long enough track record, Like I think
at this point, can we just say we know who
Marvin Mims is and who he Isn't.

Speaker 3 (35:59):
Like, I don't know he's twenty three, dude, I don't
want to I don't want to bury him yet.

Speaker 1 (36:03):
I don't want to bury him.

Speaker 4 (36:05):
I mean, I don't need to bury him. Sean Payton's
doing a good enough job at us.

Speaker 1 (36:08):
Oh damn, girl, I just damn.

Speaker 4 (36:12):
It's not me.

Speaker 2 (36:13):
It's Peyton's a good point.

Speaker 1 (36:15):
I got burned on that one. All right, let's talk
about some of the streamers going into Week four in
the NFL, let's start the quarterback position fifty. Kick us
off with a streamer for Week four. O QB.

Speaker 2 (36:25):
Goodness, Joe.

Speaker 3 (36:26):
The last time I recommended Gino Smith as a streaming
QB had three interceptions and I got crushed for it
in some of the comments. I'm definitely worried that Gino
has got this Brett saber Hagen thing where he's only
good and numbered week.

Speaker 4 (36:40):
No. Was that for a lot of I thought you
were going full Jamis Winston, but.

Speaker 3 (36:46):
We would The kids are like, who the heck is
Brett saber Hagen?

Speaker 1 (36:51):
That that I did not need a Brett saber Hagen reference.

Speaker 2 (36:56):
That was such a pull up. I do I do
want the.

Speaker 1 (36:59):
Days of Vince Coleman shooting reporters with a water gun
full of I don't know what he had in there,
but it wasn't water and he was shooting up reporters
with the water gun.

Speaker 4 (37:10):
I feel like we've gone full leading off right now.

Speaker 2 (37:12):
I do love.

Speaker 1 (37:15):
MLB.

Speaker 3 (37:15):
I do love Gino's Week four matchup against the Bears.
I mean Chicago's pass defense somehow, Dak Prescott and the
Cowboys couldn't take advantage. But the Bears best cornerback, Jalen Johnson,
he's out indefinitely with a groin injury. Their second best cornerback,
their slot corner Kyler Gordon, he has a hamstring injury.
So this is a gettable Bears defense, and I think

(37:36):
Gino could get them at home in Week four.

Speaker 1 (37:39):
All right, after you've sufficiently depressed me. By the way,
great book, The Worst Team Money Can Buy, one of
the great books ever about a bad baseball team. Go
read it. If you're looking for a book. There you go.
Give me a quarterback, not Geno Smith Debro.

Speaker 4 (37:52):
Please, I'm gonna go Matthew Stafford. I know it hasn't
equated to like a lot of fantasy production. He's playing
really good football man. Yes, against against the Eagles wasn't
a great game, but walking into that game, I mean see,
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (38:05):
I disagree that he played a really good football game.
They managed the football game. They had that football game
in tow They gave it up two block kicks. I mean, look,
the Rams should have won that football game. Period. They
outplayed the Eagles, but the Eagles, to their credit, grinded
it out, did not take a playoff at the end.
And I'll give credit to the man. The Eagles are
champs for a reason, right now.

Speaker 4 (38:26):
Eagles, so absolutely.

Speaker 3 (38:27):
The Eagles denying the Rams every time, well a lot
of the times the Rams would get down close and
the Rams just couldn't.

Speaker 1 (38:33):
Catch showing after the first two and a half weeks
of the season, finally like, oh there he is, there's
a j Brown lice to see you again.

Speaker 2 (38:42):
Not until the second half of that game either.

Speaker 4 (38:44):
I think he was halftime the fourth quarter basically all right,
so he smoke in the second half.

Speaker 1 (38:49):
So keeps saying nice things about Matthew Stafford.

Speaker 4 (38:51):
Go ahead, I mean, dude, I'm not worried about the
about the cold secondary. Their cornerbacks are gettable. Stafford was
playing like or he has been playing extremely good football,
like walking into Week three. This is a quarterback we're
talking about, like, he's top seven in yards per attempt,
passer rating and highly accurate throw rates. So I think,
looking at a fully healthy Puka Nakua and Davante Adams,

(39:11):
the touchdowns are going to get there.

Speaker 1 (39:12):
So I would be streaming staff for this week. All right,
let's talk about a streaming tight end this week. De bro,
who do you have?

Speaker 4 (39:18):
Man? Streaming tight end is rough this week? Like, I'm
not even gonna lie, Like, the options are are pretty tough.
So I'm going to go with a guy that I
know that the box scores haven't been there, but I
think the routes are definitively there and the matchup is
there this week. So it sounds like a deep poll.
But Mason Taylor, he has played seventy two to eighty
eight percent of the snaps for the Jets. Every single week.
He is walking out of a game where he had

(39:39):
a season highest sixteen percent target share, and the Dolphins
have allowed the fifth most fantasy points per game to
tight ends. So I think Mason Taylor again, if you're
hurting it tight end not only a streamer, but people
need to be picking him up. Because the thing that
we haven't talked about and or hasn't been talked about enough,
is how much the ankle injury that he sustained in
the preseason in training camp could have hindered him out
the gate. And I I think for a team that, look,

(40:01):
I understand they're not going to throw the ball forty
fifty times a game. I get that we've seen justin
field support a high end fantasy tight end before this
is a very consolidated passing attacks. After Garrett Wilson, somebody
else has to catch the ball. I think Mason Taylor
could work his way into where he's flirting with tight
end one weekly value.

Speaker 1 (40:20):
All right, let's talk about a tight end from your perspective, Fitzie.
Does the Loveland injury open up something for Cole Comet
this week?

Speaker 3 (40:26):
It does if Loveland is in fact out. We're still
waiting for more information on that. But he did leave
the Week three game with a hip injury of some sort,
So if he is out, Cole Comet would start and
would be a pretty attractive option as much as Caleb
Williams seems to like throwing his tight ends. So but
if Loveland plays, Comet's kind off the table, but you know,

(40:47):
as a conditional play here in a bad week for streaming.

Speaker 2 (40:50):
Tight ends, I do think Comet could have some appeal.

Speaker 1 (40:53):
All right, streaming defense for a Week four, Fitzy, who
do you have off the waiver? Where?

Speaker 3 (40:57):
I like the forty nine ers in a home matchup
against Jackson. Trevor Lawrence has four interceptions so far. He's
averaging five point nine yards per pass attempt, and the
forty nine Ers have held each of their first three
opponents to less than two hundred net passing yards.

Speaker 5 (41:11):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (41:12):
Yeah, forty nine Ers Cardinals game was not very enjoyable
to watch the times, Like I mean, if you like defense,
it was that.

Speaker 3 (41:19):
And Jack Cardinals Texans who are tough watches man Hackers
Browns is pretty ugly too.

Speaker 4 (41:25):
Nick Wholley is so bad.

Speaker 1 (41:26):
The one takeaway I did have pat there was a
couple moments there where they were trying to push the
ball in with McCaffrey in the end zone and the
Cardinals just were not having it. So I was impressed
what the Cardinals did, But there was also part of
me going, maybe McCaffrey doesn't have that aspect of his
game anymore at the stage in his career, like that
kind of power. And like I said, McCaffrey still played well.
He's having a really good season. Not trying to shade
Christian McCaffrey. Was just something that was noticeable because it

(41:48):
happened not just once or twelve, It was a couple
times in that game. A few times in that game,
and they took a shot down there too. He got
lit up down by the goal line and another one
of those plays. Let's talk about the streaming defense from
your point of view, deebro who.

Speaker 4 (42:00):
Yeah, to your point, Joe, Christian McCaffrey looking more Alvin
Kamara ish uh in five than actually see.

Speaker 1 (42:06):
Him, say yeah, Well, he doesn't have that. He doesn't
have that extra push gear and I'm sure that comes
from whatever that that weakness in the lower half of
the bottom of injuries.

Speaker 4 (42:14):
Injury has volume in time. It just kind of robbed
him in that second gear. But he's still getna hey,
robbed us of hair, and it's rob Christian McCaffrey of
goal line attempts. That's that's what it's gonna. Tried to
rob Christian McCaffrey of his hair. But thanks goott, thank God.

Speaker 2 (42:24):
For turning.

Speaker 1 (42:27):
Married in France.

Speaker 4 (42:31):
But you know, outside of discussing hairlines here, the Rams
defense man like, they're the DST six and fantasy points
per game, and they're they're pressure in the quarterback. I mean,
they sacked Hurts four times last week. You tell me
they can't get at Daniel Jones. And I'm not saying
that he's not playing well or playing good football, but
the Rams are still going to be able to pressure him.
They're still going to be able to get sacks. So

(42:53):
I'm gonna fire at the Rams defense.

Speaker 1 (42:54):
All right. The company mandates we mentioned a kicker, so
give me a kicker, due Bro for this week.

Speaker 4 (43:00):
Oh man, I'll go ah Matt Prader again. We're talking
about old man here, kicker five at fantasy points.

Speaker 1 (43:05):
Yeah, look at him, go look at him. Go, Coach Praider.
Coach Brad fantasy points in two of three games.

Speaker 4 (43:10):
Dude, the coach is getting it done, baby.

Speaker 1 (43:13):
Coach Brad uh Fitz. Give me a kicker for this week.

Speaker 3 (43:16):
Spencer Schrader of the Colts leading all kickers in fantasy
scoring eleven field goals already. Colts Rams could be a
pretty high scoring game, and Trader gets to kick indoors
at Solfi Stadium.

Speaker 1 (43:27):
All right. If you want to snag the difference makers
in fantasy, make sure you're using Waiver Central Fantasybros dot
Com slash my playbooks Sink your Leagues for free. Download
the app wherever you get your apps. Fantasy pros app
is available. You sink your league with my playbook. Did
I mention it's for free and use the tools, don't
be a tool like waiver Central will help get the
right players on your roster and the wrong players off
of it so you can win a fantasy championship. Because

(43:48):
that's what we're doing here. That's what it's all about,
all right. Top waiver ads of the week for those
of you who are running waivers the old fashioned way, Debro,
give me your top five for week four.

Speaker 4 (43:58):
So I'll give the PSA because I know he's about
fifty percent. But if any chance that Trey Benson is
out there, he is obviously the top pickup of the week.

Speaker 1 (44:07):
If he's not out there, it's l we all co
sign that he should not be. Yeah, but if he is,
he's like a ten team league and he happens to
be out there or whatever.

Speaker 4 (44:16):
This is like a sixty percent fab kind of situation.
Seventy five percent, it's close to empty the clip, Like,
how much do you think RB two is worth out
on waivers?

Speaker 1 (44:24):
I don't know what he is on yahoop, I don't
know if you have that up and available, but he
is ninety six percent rostered on sleeper where normal people it.

Speaker 2 (44:33):
Is fifty in Yahoo fifty So well.

Speaker 4 (44:37):
Makes my head hurt there in shower League. I just
got to give the PSA. But if he's not out there,
Elica is number one for me. Troy Franklin number two.
We didn't talk about him here, but I know a
lot of people might be dropping. Darnel Mooney. He's under
fifty percent of Yahoo. He's number three. Christian Kirk another
name that we didn't discuss a lot here, but the
volume is there. I'm not telling you the Texans passing

(44:58):
attack is wonderful right now, but a Christian Kirk is
going to see that much weekly volume. He's going to
be a flex play moving forward. He's number four. Matthew
Stafford is five for me.

Speaker 1 (45:06):
All right, let's get to your picks here in order
for week four, Fizy, what do you have?

Speaker 3 (45:12):
Yeah, let's go with lk Iamner at the top, Troy Franklin,
if he's available, he'd be number two, Kyle Manangai number three,
Ali Gordon number four, and we'll put Tory Horton in
at number five.

Speaker 1 (45:23):
Yes, love me some Tory Harton. Let's give some love

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
