Speaker 1 (00:00):
Football is so back, and so am I toumbstrack and
joined by Andrew Erickson for another episode where we get
you call off. With all the training camp used, the
rises to fullest is every single training camp clip just
gets people into a frenzy. Andrew, we have got a
massive show tonight. I don't want to waste too much time,
but quickly one how you do it? And two favorite
training camp pipes so far?
Speaker 2 (00:22):
Favorite training camp pipe so well. I'm doing great because
training camp is here. We actually have actual news with
these players, with these coaches, with these teams. So I'm
loving it. I'm on cloud nine. Every time you open
the the X app, You're seeing these massive highlights. And
I guess my favorite highlight so far was actually one
of my own. It was a Jalen Polk, you know,
making a nice catch, but apparently that wasn't good enough
(00:44):
for anybody. But then when he made a big catch
later on, they said, oh no, that's not sustainable. He
wouldn't been able to make that catch. That safety would
have let him up. So I don't know how to
please the people anymore with these highlights. I just enjoy him.
I think it's fun. Highlights are fun. Tom, We're allowed
to have fun on twit, Twitter, on x with these
players making plays. Should they move ADPs? Probably not? But
(01:04):
do they Yeah, But it's a game at the end
of the day, So I'm just having fun. It's like
to see they putting on the pads. We got footballs back.
We are so bad. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
And if you know, upsetting people when you tweet, and
I mean are you even tweeting? So more on how
I upset people later, but remember everyone, you can stay
up to date with over training camp news with the
NFL Training Camp News tracker on fantasypros dot com. We
are starting with the running back rises.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
JK.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
Dobbins is healthy, which a lot of people didn't expect.
Gus Edwards had an unspecified surgery which Jim Harbor won't
go into. They don't have to go into off season surgeries.
They don't, not like they do within season ones. So
Dobbins is up to five spots to one hundred and
sixty seven. Gus Edwards is participating in team drills a
little bit, but he's more doing the individual work.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
JK.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
Dobbins toll reporters he believes he has a special season
income in Meanwhile, Kamani Videll is up fourteen spots, but
it feels like a fall could be coming there because
he's splitting word with Josh Kelly. According to Flake, let's
kick off with this backfield, Andrew, how are you feeling
about this because I know a few weeks ago you
were starting to come around on JK.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
Dobbins all the way around on JK. Dobbins. I think
that it's interesting because the tables have turned a little
bit where everyone kind of viewed him as this is
the running back who's always heard this is the guy
who's never healthy, even though when he's been on the field,
he's been more productive on a per carry basis than
almost anybody in the NFL over the last couple of years.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
And he knows that he quoted that back to report
to the other day.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
Because it's the only thing he has working in his favor,
so he has to quote it. But it is interesting
too because it's not Josh Kelly, it's Jarrett Patterson. I
don't think Josh Kelly's on the team, but that just
goes to show who Kamani Videll is playing with here,
So Josh Kelly, I don't think it's on the Chargers anymore.
It is Jarrett Patterson. But again it goes to show
that we don't have these juggernaut running backs in the
(02:55):
Chargers backfield. All we know is this Chargers backfield is
going to be productive. We know that team's gonna run
the ball a ton and JK. Dobbins is a starter.
I was reading some stuff about him taking some time
off during either their Saturday or Sunday practices from the
athletic where he wasn't out there because the starters are
getting rest. The team views JK Dobbins as a starter
(03:16):
in this backfield, so I think where he's going. I'm
continuing to push the button on him. I can see
Kamani Vedell in the ADP and then I scrolled down
a little bit and then I just picked JK. Dobbins
because that's the guy I want in this backfield.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
Yeap, my mistake on Josh Kelly. I could have sworn
he was still on the team because.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
I mean, but he's been on the team for a while.
So I remember seeing the show. She was like, wait,
is he still on the team, But yeah, it's all
you know, it's Jared Patterson, Isaiahs. They're all one guy.
Speaker 1 (03:45):
It's Isaiah Spiller. Isaiah Spiller who is very much getting
those kind of vibes for Josh Kelly maybe had last
year and Isaiah Spiller was apparently somebody Jim Harbor try
to recruit in college at one point, So definitely keep
that in mind of a rise. James Connor up four
spots on underdog Zeke Elliott, up twenty two spots in
our consensus Best Ball rankings to one hundred and eleven.
(04:08):
Rashard White also up five spots to forty six. Brian
Robinson four spots to ninety three. Jonathan Brooks started camp
on the pup list, but the Hypes building. In our
consensus rankings, He's up five spots to ninetieth overall. Now,
one player of over I want to talk about before
we move on to some others is Jamia Gibbs, who
isn't up any spots, but I want to bring him
(04:29):
up in the verses because there was a report out
there last week according to Detroit News saying that Jamia
Gibbs been cross training at wide receiver and could play
quote a ton in the slot. I feel like we
get this every year, Andrew, There's always one running back
and gets this bit. Is this different?
Speaker 2 (04:48):
I don't think so. I mean, I don't think this
changes how I view Gibbs in any way. I do
think it just goes to show that they're trying to
find ways to move them around the formation and to
get them the balls. That's how I can reading to it.
Not Hey, he's gonna run two hundred routes out of
the slot. That's probably not gonna happen. But if this
means he's going to catch more passes out of the backfield,
(05:09):
then sign me up. And we know that that's what
Jared Goff's bread and butter is. We know he's not
gonna be running the ball. We know he's gonna be
checking the ball a time. We love the Lions in
terms of them playing in shootouts. They played nearly all
their games indoors this season, except for that one glaring
game in Week sixteen at Chicago, which is going to
destroy all lines best ball teams unfortunately, because Jared Goff
is almost surely going to lay an egg in that
(05:31):
particular matchup. But besides that, I think you've got to
be excited about Gibbs still. And it's weird because the
Lions seemed like the hype machine. But if any team
has been able to meet expectations, especially as they've increased
every single year in the Dan Campbell ara, there's a
reason the Lions are one of the best teams against
the spread since Dan Campbell took over, because they're meeting
(05:51):
and exceeding expectations, because he's set this team with Super
Bowl aspiration. So right now, I don't see really any
Lion except Jamison Williams, just because I just think that
his actual role and what he does for the real
team versus fantasy is a little bit misconstrued. I mean,
all these lines players I think are worth investing into
because this offense is just going to be so good.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
You heard it here, Andrews says, going draft Donovan people's Jones, David.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
Montgomery, I wish I don't know who the receiver three is.
One day it's Antoine Green, the next day it's Jones.
Speaker 1 (06:23):
David Montgomery is down ten spots to seventy first overall,
that still feels like a decent range should be drafting him.
Our last running back riser Joe Mixing up six spots
in the consensus rankings, has a hamstring injury which has
kept him out of practice. The Texans also signed cam Akers.
Damian Piss has been getting first team reps in the
absence of Mixing for like three straight days. Juir Jordan
(06:47):
is down eighteen spots to Freiner in sixty three, So
according to our rankings undraftable. It just feels like people
have more faith in cam Akers coming off the injury,
or perhaps Damian Pierce coming off a miserable year, to
stay involved and stop the rookie from getting into the
you know, meaningful area of drafts. How are you approaching
(07:08):
this backfield at a minute, Andrew.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
I like Joe Mixon where he goes in that round
five range. It's interesting because I was talking to you
a little bit before we started the show. I've been
diving into some more regular redraft mock drafts to kind
of get a sense of that market versus the best
ball market, because if you've been drafting best ball teams,
you're in for a upside down reality when you get
to these redraft formats on ESPN, Yahoo, CBS, even on Sleeper,
(07:33):
the ADPs are very, very different, with the one major
difference being running backs are drafted much higher than they
are in Best Ball drafts, just because of the format
and because underdog in particular is just wide receiver crazy,
which is also very ironic because it's not even full PPR,
it's half PPR. But it doesn't matter. They just they
just love those dogs. Those those dogs love the receivers there.
(07:53):
But for me, Mixing still goes at a pretty good price.
Even in some of the redraft formats. He actually fell
more than I thought he would compared to some of
the other running backs, So I think that he still
has kind of that like he's never been that elite player,
but what has he been a lead at doing is
scoring Fantasy points. Right. He's a three down work course,
and that's how they've talked about Bobby Slowik has come
(08:13):
out and said that we expect Joe Mixon to be
a workhorse, so they're obviously being careful with him. He's
dealing with a hamstring injury. No need to rush him back.
So they're giving guys like Pierce reps, And to be honest,
Pierce needs reps, right, because that's why he was so
ineffective last year, because he did not fit this run
zone scheme that the forty earth excuse me, the Texans
had in their offense last year. I think they're trying
(08:34):
to get him more acclimated towards it. And the thing
with Jordan as a rookie that's interesting is he definitely
fits this scheme because they went out and drafted him
specifically because he could fit this seat, to fit this scheme.
So unless Pierce just continues to flounder and he doesn't
look good, he doesn't fit what the offense is doing,
would not be surprised if he gets cut or traded
and you see Jordan or a potentially a cam Akers
(08:55):
kind of take on a bigger role. So I think
it is interesting that they did bring in Acres. I
don't know if that's because of the mixing injury or
it's because, hey, we're still not sold on Pierce fitting
this scheme. Whereas we know Acres coming from the Rams,
the Vikings that kind of similar Shanahani in offense, we
know that Acres can at least be effective in this
particular scheme.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
Yeah, and a lot of the quotes coming out about
Damian Pierso in regards to his special team Billy on
kick returns, so it definitely doesn't feel like even with
a bit of fluff that they're desperate to get him
out there for a lot of reps, Joe mixing up six.
Like I mentioned, he is now up to forty eight
for overall, so crawling into the back end around four
according to our consensus rankings, moving across to the running
(09:37):
back for as Josh Jacobs down six spots to forty
third overall. AJ Dillon coincidentally is also down twenty three
to two hundred and seventy two. Despite Matt Lafleur say
and AJ Dillon is in the best shape of his life.
The quote was, this is the best I've seen him,
hands down. Marsha On Lloyd has been getting a bit
of hype, but he isn't precicident at the moment due
(09:57):
a minor hip injury. Andrew, do you think the I mean,
do you want Josh Jacobs at forty third overall now
he's fallen from thirty seven.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
I hate this backfield so much because I don't know
what to do with the Green Bay backfield. But I
know that if there's any backfield that's going to cash
in on a ton of touchdown regression, it's the Packers backfield.
Because you look at I was looking pulling some stats
last week. It's on my Twitter feed at Andrew Rixson Underscore,
basically looking at the team that had the most red
(10:28):
zone carries with the least amount of red zone touchdowns
was the Green Bay Packers last year. I believe it
was anywhere, but he's either ninety or ninety six carries
per touchdown they had in the red zone because AJ
Dillon was so bad in the red zone last year.
I think we've talked about this on a show before
where I couldn't believe how bad he actually was last
year because of the opportunities he gone to the offense.
(10:50):
It made no sense to me. How could he awesome?
How could he possibly be this bad? So I don't
think it's nothing that he's in better shape and that
the team brought him back at anyway because they didn't
have to do that. I get that he tested free agency,
nobody wanted him, but man, I just can't get this
this shake, this really bad feeling in my mind that
AJ Dillon's going to have a role in this offense
(11:11):
and we're going to see it early on if Lloyd's
missing time with these injuries, something he dealt with a
lot at the college level. That's why I can't feel
confident in Lloyd because he never fully took over a backfield.
So how many guys have to get hurt? Did Dylan
and Jacobs have to get hurt for Lloyd to really
take on a substantial role. And the way they talked
about Jacobs when they first got him, I think they
believe Jacobs can be a bell coow. But I think
(11:32):
they want to have a running back by committee. But
if Dylan is still bad, Lloyd doesn't get healthy or
doesn't step up as a rookie, then they may be
forced to turn to Jacobs as their bell cow. And
if I miss out on that, I'm gonna feel like
an idiot because it was all there for him in
the taking in and up and descending offense. So I
don't want to say I pleaded the fifth on the Packers' backfield,
(11:52):
but I am. I am very perplexed to honestly.
Speaker 1 (11:54):
Right now, Yeah, I think I'd play it through the
passing game of a moment. I'm just going back to
AJ Dylan. He was the only player to have thirty
six rush attempts or more and score two touchdowns. Every
other player with thirty six or more scored more.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
Than it was so bad?
Speaker 1 (12:13):
So how much better shape can he be in that
he's going to be a fix that inefficiency. Evan Huld
down twenty one spots to two hundred and seventy nine
in our rankings, Tray Sermons still getting reps ahead of him.
Sermon's up seventeen spots, but still behind him at two
hundred and ninety nine. Rochean Johnson, who we both like,
is down fifteen spots to one hundred and eighty five.
(12:34):
I think people are just becoming more wary of the
committee because Khalil Herbert is also down twelve spots to
one hundred and seventy. First, Tyler Lger again another running
back we both like, down seven spots to one hundred
and fifty five, and then Tank Bigsby down thirteen to
two hundred and eleven. Any of those guys worth touching
on quickly?
Speaker 2 (12:53):
Andrew I, I just can't give up on Rochan. I
understand the three way can with him, and it's doesn't
look great on paper, but I'm just not a believer
and DeAndre Swift long term for this backfield. So it
changes in a little bit in redraft where Swift is
going to have the RB one role from the get go,
and we're really waiting on does Herbert get moved or
(13:14):
not because the clear error doesn't get moved, doesn't get traded. Well,
that's part of kind of the upside I'm looking at
when it comes to Rochan for this year, So we'll see.
I think shakeout running backs get hurt, especially during the preseason.
So if something happens we lose another running back to
an injury, well maybe we do see Ciel Herbert end
up getting moved and then that boost roche On Johnson.
So I'm gonna play it like I've been playing it.
(13:35):
I've been drafting a decent amount of Herbert and Rochan
just because I think both guys could see. I mean,
if Herbert gets moved, it's good for Herbert and Rochan Johnson.
So I think taking shots on both those guys late,
especially in their range where I really don't like any
of the other running backs when Rochon and Herbert are going,
so I see upside cases for both of them. So
that's fine as my fifth or sixth running back or
(13:57):
like my final running back on a team. I think
both those guys are line picks where they're going.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
Yeah. Absolutely, Well, let's move on to another backfield that
we're going to have touch on, the Broncos. Julia McLaughlin
is down ten spots. Giovanne hasn't really risen up much.
He's upset he's been gone down six spots in our rankings,
down to ninety six. But I think we're going to
see him rise very soon. Meanwhile, Audri Estome is back
(14:22):
after getting a knee scope completed. But the real crooks
of this story is Giovanni Williams, who was taking all
the first team snaps, lost some weight at Sean Payton's request.
I think you lost about ten pounds or so, and
it seems like the drum beat is now really behind
Giovanne Williams. Are you still taking Audrick estime later on
or are you just finding yourself going okay, this might
(14:44):
be Gianni Williams as a workhorse for the first time
since pre injury.
Speaker 2 (14:49):
I was in love with Estima during the pre draft process.
I thought he was so good, and then he ran
that forty yard dash and I knew that, oh no,
like this, this draft capital is going south real quick.
But of course he went to the team that doesn't
care about draft capital or what you do in the process.
There's gonna take you no matter what. So they took Estimate. Yeah,
the Broncos, it's gonna be interesting a year from now
(15:10):
when we're talking about this draft class. Very interesting. They
took bo Nicks in the first round. They got Troy Franklin,
who we all thought was should have been potentially a
first round pick, second round pick, end up going in
Day three. Estimate. Like I said, I was really high
on him, but I knew his draft stock was gonna
plumbt after he ran the slow forty yard dash. So
I still like Estimate a lot. I mean the fact
that this player who has done nothing during OTA's nothing,
(15:33):
he's been hurt, he's getting buzz. How does this happen?
I mean, Camani Modell can't get anything from these Chargers.
Beat reported that he's on the field, all he's doing
is catching strays. So I think that tells a lot
about Sean Payton hyping up every single running back, I mean,
including Jamonte Williams now saying that he looks great out there.
So I think that this backfield is just going to
(15:55):
have I think I think maybe everyone's undervalue at a
point where if Jamonte is the guy early on, while
he's going outside the top one hundred picks, you're going
to zero RB. You need someone to start week one. Well,
Jamont is going to have some front loaded production. That's great,
Julia Minlafflin, it seems like he's going to be a
staple in this offense basically no matter what. So I
think he's still my favorite, especially in the full PPR formats,
just because of how often these Sean Payton offenses attack
(16:18):
the running back position in the passing game. So Jaliel,
I don't see where he takes over as a full
blown workhorse. But if he's catching four or five balls
every single week, well that's gonna hit your line up.
That's gonna be helpful. That's avoiding zero's, especially when it
comes to the running back position where he's being drafted later,
I think that's pretty valuable. So I do think that
in half PPR, I'm less inclined to go after mclaloffe
(16:41):
because I don't know what his touchdown upside is, especially
in I mean to Bononick's offense that I don't think
anybody should be really thrilled about it, and it's a
pretty brutal schedule that they have to face, so I
think it's important to keep that in mind or his estimate.
He's a big running back, and I think that he
could flirt with some touchdown red zone usage, So that's
kind of my take. I really don't think that awful,
and I think that Jamonte getting some positive buzz has
(17:03):
at least me open to his ADP, which is also
very very suppressed.
Speaker 1 (17:07):
Yeah. Absolutely, I mean you're talking sitting now at ninety
six overall, dropping down from ninety if. I think, as
long as he doesn't get too far above ninety if like,
if he ends up sort of maybe around eighty fifth overall,
I'm fine taking him on the whole though, the three
headed backfield, it's not one I really want to get
(17:28):
involved in. And that's assuming that Smashy p Run gets
cut or moved.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
On leg Watson doesn't emerge as the other the next
UDFA sleeper after McLaughlin did it last year. So yeah,
and I think too, I think an overarching point with
the Broncos, unless this offense is really good, there's a
chance that none of these guys are actually moving or
needle movers anyway, and you're gonna look back and oh
my god, I'm I didn't draft any Broncos running backs
(17:54):
and that killed my team. I don't think that's gonna
be the case. I think there is value here, but
I don't think it's oh my god, this is the
best value possibly gotten in a pretty messy backfield on
an offense that we're not really super excited about.
Speaker 1 (18:05):
Yeah, backfield which is only two headed months for a
time being, but samat JP Ryan could end up in
if he did get cut. It's the Bengals. Chase Brown
is down seven spots from one hundred and twenty second
to one hundred and twenty nine. Despite plenty of positive
buzz around him. Chase Brown has been getting the majority
of reps at running back with the first team offense
(18:26):
in camp, and Joe Goodberry, one of the great Bengals
beat reporters, said that he's got the opportunity to be
at least for the Bengals what Jalen Warren is for
the Steelers. Do you think that we're going to see
a big jump from Chase Brown by the time we
come back to this in two weeks.
Speaker 2 (18:41):
I think so. I think that him getting first team
reps was surprising to a lot of people. I don't
think it's really that surprising given that he's the no
and he's the incumbent right because he was on the
team last year. So maybe it's kind of weird that
Moss isn't getting more up to speed because he knows
the other players less and that's kind of weird that
and give him more opportunities in training camp to develop
(19:03):
chemistry with with Joe Burrow in her center, et cetera.
But the thing with Chase Brown is it's not about
the reps with the ones. It's about pass protection. That's like,
that's the big thing with Chase Brown. Like that's what
I was trying to search on Twitter. No, I need
Chase Brown pass pro.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
Let's get what we need news on We need these
joint practices and we need people actually angry, charging really
with intent to get to a quarterback try to knock
Chase Brown out of the way. And if he can
hold up him that way, then he can keep Zack
Moss on the bench. But otherwise I think it's going
to be a very tall order for him.
Speaker 2 (19:37):
Yeah, exactly, And I think too, It'll be telling you know,
going back to samaj pen Ryan, if he get cut,
if he signs up the Bengals, well, that's a clear
indication that, Hey, Chase Brown's not ready to take on
this pass protection role. Hey we're not crazy in love
with Zach Moss. Okay, we need another running back here.
But if they go enter the season and it's just
Chase Brown and Zach Moss, I think that's very promising
(19:58):
for Chase Brown's role on Week one.
Speaker 1 (20:01):
Yeah, and a lot of these players are moving up
and down on Fantasy Pros Championship at FFPC as well.
This fast draft slow drafts over there. Myself and Andrew
did one a few weeks back and drafted a very
tasty team. It is a three undred and fifty dollars
entry fee, but you get twenty five dollars off your
first entry with the promo code Fantasy Pros if you
go Fantasypros dot Com forward slash FFPC one million dollars
(20:24):
to first place prize. It is the world's largest online
season long tournament. Jalen Warren down six spots to eighty nine,
which personally offends me on a deep level as my
most drafted player in all of Best Ball this year.
Jalen Warren, it just feels like there should be more
drumbeat for him, but he's slipping slightly. Maybe it's because
(20:45):
of the other players in this range, but we know
that nowje Harris didn't get his fifth year option. Picked
up the quote which is out there is saying that
the Steelers don't know which direction there offense is head
in under a new offensive coordinator, Arthur Smith. So yeah,
I mean, I know one of the Steelers beat reporters.
Andrew Philipponi at The Pony Express on Twitter said that
(21:05):
he thinks that steel is going to use Jalen Warren
as B one, which is exactly what I want to hear. Andrew,
whereabouts would you be oneing Jalen Warren to be sitting
at in rankings right now?
Speaker 2 (21:17):
I think that he should be a top twenty four
running back. I think that he should be ahead of
Naji Harris. And this reminds me a lot of happened
a couple of years ago where it was Damien Harris
versus Ramandre Stevenson. Yeah, and the entire time, you know,
Damian's the starter, Damian's the guy, but eventually it was like, Okay,
(21:37):
maybe he's the starter by name, but who's the guy
that's going to score more fantasy points? And it was
clearly Remondre because he was going to take on a
pass catching role in that offense. And what happened, Harris
got hurt and Remandre just went absolutely nuclear in his
second season and was a great player and a great pick,
even though people got scared off because well, now he's
going ahead of Naji Harri or ahead of Damian Hair.
(22:00):
What's going on? Well, I hate to break it to you,
but Jalen Warren is gonna be starting to go ahead
Naji Harris soon. I don't think we're gonna see I
think this is gonna happen industry leagues, We're gonna see
Jalen Mooren go ahead and Naji Harris more consistently. And
know their ADPs are kind of back to back in
a lot of different best ball formats. But for me,
it's Jalen Warren. I want the guy that's ascending. Every
year we're drafting Najie Harris later and later, and like,
(22:22):
what is this telling us about this player? He's holding
on You're hoping that he holds onto the job long
enough to score for your fantasy team. I don't want
that on my team. I want Jalen Warren. That's who
I want. And I think that the fact that he
came out and said, well, they declaimed my fifth year
option because they weren't sure how they were gonna use
me the offense. This is after they hired Arthur Smith.
(22:44):
This is after they invested in the offensive line during
the NFL draft. If you don't know what you're doing
with Naji Harris, after you make these moves basically saying
we're gonna run the day of ball and you don't
know what to do with Naji Harris, well, folks hate
to break it to you, but this is not headed
in the right direction for Najie Harris.
Speaker 1 (23:02):
Yeah, and if you play in a points per carry league,
then maybe you want Najie Harris because he's probably gonna
get plenty of work between the twenties. But give me
Jalen Warren, who had the second highest explosive play rate
among running backs last year. That's good for fantasy football.
We want players who break long runs, who changed the
game in an instant because it forces the other team
in the more of a past heavy script. That's perfect
(23:24):
for fantasy football. We know that Jalen Warren is going
to be the pass catcher. Blake Coreham is down eight
spots to one hundred and twenty seventh overall, despite the
fact there's been some plenty of positive reports on Blake
corm I mean, Sean McVeigh was quite a same that
he thinks Korum is a very mature player. He loves
the way he handles himself. But he's also said in
(23:45):
the last week when it comes to Karen Williams, he
knows what an instrumental part is going to be. You
want to be smart about that, and so that's where
we can be mindful of it. But in the meantime,
he's going to go. He's going to lead the way
for that running back room. Another running back room with
multiple options. Nick Chubb down five spots to one hundred
and thirteenth, despite the fact that there's been some positive
(24:05):
reports by him, he's been up sixteen spots on DraftKings,
from about pick one hundred and forty to about one
hundred and twenty four, up fourteen spots on underdog. I've
seen some wild ranges where he's been drafted. Chubb. We
al saw video of him squatting five hundred and eighty
five pounds or whatever it was. Mary Kay Cabot tweeted
that she just watched Brown's Nick Chub running full sprints
(24:27):
after practice cutting with tremendous agility. It was remarkable. We
weren't allowed to film it. Jimmy Haslam, Brown's owner, watched
the whole thing and looked very pleased. Dan Gratiano from
the ESPN said the Chubb isn't likely to be ready
for STARV season, but they do believe he'll play with
some certainty at some point this season. Pierre Strong is
expected to back up Jerome Ford in Chub's absence and
(24:50):
then down to form and will be filling the Kareem
Hunt short yardage troll. I've just thrown a lot at you, Andrew,
But how you handling the Nick Chub situation?
Speaker 2 (25:00):
Just break it down, Andrew, This is easy for you.
Crowd's back with. How's it going to play out? Man?
I wish I knew what any of this stuff really meant,
you know, trying to parse between everything. Look, I have
been taking Nick Chubb when he's fallen, especially when he
goes the past ADP. I think we talked about Chubb
of one of the first shows. Yeah, and I talked
about how I think that his ADP is just going
(25:21):
to go up from here. I think we had officially
hit rock bottom where he was. I think it was
one hundred and thirty or one hundred and forty overall ADP.
So he's obviously boosted up from that standpoint, but he's
still going into double digits. He's still going mostly outside
the top one hundred picks. And if there's anyone going
to bet on coming back from this injury, it would
be Nick Chubb or Dereck Henry. Those are like the
(25:42):
two running backs I could see possibly coming back from
this type of injury and being a force at least
in the second half of the season. So in best
ball that matters because you're betting on players in the
second half of the season more than the first half.
So I think there are multiple ways to approach this.
Where Jerome Ford looks like he's really underdied in a
lot of formats, the same thing with Deonday Foreman. Take
shots on both of them, stash them on your bench,
(26:04):
and see who ends up being the RB one in
the preseason or in the week one matchups. The Browns
have a couple interesting matchups to open the year, so
you could see this offense put up some productive fantasy numbers,
and I think that helps the running back, especially Ford,
who we know is a pass catcher. Foreman obviously works
better than positive game scripts. But the point that you
pointed out, if he's the hunt roll, well that was
really great for red zone usage for touchdowns last year,
(26:26):
So I think there's a lot of value with this
Browns backfield. We always talk about targeting and bi us backfields. Well,
I mean, how many things you just list off that
are question marks. It's the entire Brown's backfield. So I
think that it's important to take shots on all these players.
And I don't think any of their ADPs are really
too too bad to shy away from. So that's kind
of the way I'm looking at it.
Speaker 1 (26:47):
Yeah, I just I don't know. I'm not quite there
on Nick Chubb, but I still think the squading is
something that's a movement which you get back quite quickly
after an ACL injury. But it's the cutting and games
of it really matters. And I'm not sure I can
quite chase him up on the boards, but I would
love to see him back because he's easily one of
the most entertaining players in the NFL. Other running back
(27:10):
for ers Saquon Barkley down four spots to eighteen. Kenny
Gainwell and Will Shipley have both been getting first team snaps.
I think Saquon Barkley's missed a couple of days of training.
Antonio Gibson was down four spots to one hundred and
forty six. He has come off the injured list on Sunday.
I believe he practiced today. Kendre Miller down three spots
(27:30):
to one hundred and forty two. I think we're going
to see a much bigger drop on him by this time.
In a couple of weeks. He's down seventeen spots on Underdog.
I saw him go at one hundred and eighty ninth
overall on DraftKings the other night, and Dennis Allen said,
that's a player who needs to figure out how to
stay healthy because you can't make the team in the
training room. Dennis Allen well known for being quite miserable
(27:52):
and negative about even his own players. So maybe we
need to take out with a pinch of salt. Clyde
Edwards Hilaire down eleven spots to two hundred seventeen for overall,
Generic Prince taking reps with the first team after Isaiah
pa check over running back one, Deneric Prince has been
the chief second ar being four straight pratss per PG
swinging on Twitter Andrew. Any of those you want to
(28:13):
hit on quickly before we get to wide receivers.
Speaker 2 (28:16):
Was Deaneric Prince. The prince we were promised? Is that
the Chiefs RB two? Is that what we're looking at here? Yeah,
someone was drafting Clyde Edward Hlaarin thought he was a
great pick in round eighteen. This makes you feel really dumb,
But in hindsight it kind of makes sense because Edwards
layer is not good, and it makes sense the Chiefs
are trying to improve upon that RB two slots. So
(28:38):
I'm open to drafting generic Prince now. Because Isaiah Pacheco
runs like a maniac and he's been banged up, and
we've seen this before with Andy Reid. They find running
backs Damian Williams, Isaiah Pacheco. They don't care what your
draft capital is. If you get the offense and you
can pass pro and you can do the things that
are asked of you, then you get to play. So
(28:59):
right now, Edwards Hlaire, do not draft list. I'm not
drafting him anymore. I'm done. I'd ranked Generic Prince over him.
I don't know if this is going to sustain, but
I'm not going to ignore this. I think this is
legitimate news. This is news or action worthy to adjust
expectations on who the chiefs RB two is. And at
least from what we can tell from the news that
(29:20):
we are getting, it looks more likely it's Generic Prince
than Clyde Edwards Hilaire, who we were just drafting because
we thought he was going to be the RB two,
But that no longer seems like it's the case, or
at least not nearly as strong a case as it
seemed like before training camp opened up.
Speaker 1 (29:34):
Yeah, let's move over to wide receivers and we'll start
with the fall list. One player who hasn't fallen but
is worth noting of a very top CD Lamb still
holding out of Cowboys camp. It does sound like they're
going to reach a deal. Stephen Jones to Cowboys vice
presidents at over weekend that they send new deal office
to both him and Dat Prescott last week and they
were hopeful, So I don't think we're going to see
(29:54):
any movement either way on CD LAMB, but just worth
putting him there that he is a noteworthy player because
of a new surrounding. Former Cowboy Michael Gallup retired, so
obviously no longer relevant to us in anything. He got
to Las Vegas practiced one. I think it was with
god Minshew and ade O'Connell said no, thank you and
just moved on. Brandon, are you holding in at San Francisco?
(30:18):
He is there, but he's not actually taken part in training.
He's down four spots. Kadarius Tony down thirteen spots to
three hundred and two, well outside of Arranger draftable backs
in our Best Wall consensus rankings. Been working with the
running backs. Marvin Mims Junior down twelve spots to one
hundred and sixty ninth overall. According to Sean Payton, he's
(30:39):
shown growth in camp, but I think that it's more
people just feeling a little bit negative about the Broncos
passing game overall, and then tanked Dell this one. We
can definitely stop on because he's down seven spots to
fifty first overall. Stephan Diggs is reportedly the wide receiver one,
according to Texans Beat reporter DJ ben Amy bien Amy,
(31:01):
I might be saying about wrong. I truly apologize if
I am, but Andrew Stephan Diggs wide receiver one in
Texans buying it.
Speaker 2 (31:08):
I don't know if I'll buy that he's a wide
receiver one, but I am drafting him as the wide
receiver two in the Texans offense. I think for me
with Diggs is he has so much proven production. He's
a player that is not a contestant. He hasn't been
a contested catch receiver his NFL career. He's been a
savvy rout runner his entire NFL career, and those are
(31:29):
players that typically age well. And I think a lot
of what happened to do last year's falloff was out
of his control. The offense changed dramatically, and I think
to the extent to which his production fell off so
much that it almost couldn't be just related to just
him because it was so bad, It was so stark
and how great he was and then just totally fell
(31:49):
off a cliff that doesn't really happen. So I think
that last year, and this is something I've had a
real turnaround. You know, when Diggs for or when I
was first looking at rankings ranking Digs, I was super
low on him. I didn't think I was gonna be
drafting any of Stefan Diggs. But then I just looked
at the situation he's attached to CJ. Shroud. This offense
could be top five in every passing category. I'm gonna
(32:11):
be drafting this dude, especially based on his proven track
record of production. Now it's interesting that he is emerging
as the number one in training camp based on team
drills and how many targets he's gotten. I know that
I was reading some of the comments and they were saying, oh, well,
this is because CJ. Shroud's trying to develop more chemistry
with him, because he doesn't have many reps with him
from you know, previous That's why Tank Dell's last, because
(32:32):
he obviously already has the most chemistry built in with
Tank Dell. So I wouldn't read too much into that
specific report because you can twist it in any way
you want, but it's still notable that he's not last.
That would probably be a bigger red flag that a
new player is also last in terms of targets that
they're getting from their new quarterback. So it looks like
Stroud's trying to make this Digs thing work, and I
think that fantasy managers would want to pay attention to it.
(32:55):
So I think that all these Texans receivers have a
ton of upside. We talked about this on the show
we just recorded with Jacob Gibbs from CBS. We all
like the Texans offense because of the upside, and especially
in the best ball format, all these guys could win weeks.
I think in redraft, I like the prices on Diggs
and Dell just because they're a little bit cheaper. I
(33:16):
think I like all other other receivers in Collins range,
like a Nayuk or a Jalen Model, but for best
ball purposes, the weekly upside, I mean, I could see
any of these three guys finishing as the wide receiver
one overall in a week, and that has a lot
of value in Best Ball.
Speaker 1 (33:30):
Yeah, another guy who I know you like, Andrew Michael
Pittman down five spots to thirty fifth overall. Part of
this seems to be coming on the back of Josh Downs,
who's playing really well at Camp. Josh Downs is up
twenty one spots to one hundred and thirty third overall.
I know you've been quite aggressive on Michael Pittman. I
was kind of shining away from him when he was
going a little higher and miss, But the back end
(33:51):
of the third round, I'm completely fine with it. Are
you still full of confidence with Michael Pittman even in
what we expect to be a run heavy offense? If
Josh Downs takes leap.
Speaker 2 (34:02):
I don't know how much of the leap Josh Downs
can take from a statistical standpoint. Within the confines of
this offense, he can be good. I think that he
is good in real life, but I don't know if
we're gonna necessarily see that translate as much to fantasy,
especially when it comes to the touchdown production. Last year,
Michael Pittman was still top ten in the NFL in
red zone targets. I think that Downs is in a
(34:24):
situation where he and Michael Pittman last year, when they
were both healthy to start the year, were both very productive.
So I think Downs has the talent to take a leap,
but for him to be a major difference maker, I
think he's going to have to have an injury ahead
of him, or we see the Colts offense throw a
lot more than we're initially expecting. So I don't mind
his price where he's going. I think that he's probably
(34:46):
a better pick in redraft than at Ad and I Mitchell.
Where Mitchell he's gonna have. I mean, Mitchell was a
best ball guy in college. He had these massive games,
especially in big contest, and then he just disappeared in
other games. That's why his yards rotten was so bad.
So he's probably the guy I'd rather preferred best ball
because he's gonna have those spike weeks, whereas Josh Downs,
I think is the better player overall, and if pittmore
(35:08):
to go down, I think you'd see Josh Downs really
scoop up a lot of those short intermediate targets, move
the chains because I think that he is a talented
player also a former second round pick.
Speaker 1 (35:18):
Yeah, that makes sense. I like just Downs at his
price because it's quite palatable. It's an area of a
draft that if you've gone running back running back, or
if you've taken even one running back and then hit
on the elite tigh end quarterbacks, by the time you
get to Josh Downs in that sort of one hundred
and twenty one hundred and thirty range. You really need
(35:38):
still at least one or two more wide receivers before
turning your attention elsewhere. So Josh Downs has definitely been
an easier click for me. Van Pittman. One player who
is definitely causing some headaches for people try to draft
him at the minute is Jordan Addison, who's down five
spots in the consensus rankings to seventy eight for overall.
Jordan Addison feels like he's going to for a lot
(36:00):
further in those rankings over the next couple of weeks.
He's currently going at eighty second overall on Underdog, ninety
seventh on DraftKings, ninety second on Drafters, eighty fifth on
bb tens, and one hundred and eight on FFPC formats
where we know we running backs get pushed up a
bit higher. It feels like even Jordan Addison's resigned to
(36:20):
get suspended at some point. He talked last week about
whatever discipline comes his way, he'll accept it and just
look to move on. Are you comfortable taking him inside
the top eighty andrew or would you rather wait until he's
kind of down towards for triple digits.
Speaker 2 (36:36):
I think he's going to probably keep falling. I'm just
trying to relate to what happened to Rashie Rice. Rashie
Rice is the ultimate bell curve, as we'll kind of
talk about where it plummeted. Because this guy's never going
to play in the NFL again. That was the conclusion
that we had all reached. And now it seems like
Rashie Rice people are starting to get more confident in
drafting him. They were seeing his ADP reverse because there's
(36:57):
no news, and no news in this particular situation is
good news for a player like Arashi Rice. So he's
becoming a value now that you want to continue to
scoop up. I think Addison will still have yet to
see the most from his fall, like you said, so
I'm cool with letting him fall. I don't think that
his profile was perfect even when he was going to
play all the games. I think that he had a
couple in terms of touchdown regression, in terms of okay,
(37:18):
what's the quarterback situation going to look like in Minnesota.
So I don't think even before the suspension he was
a flawless prospect where he was being drafted, So I'm
cool with letting him fall a little bit more and
then I'll take him scooping up a little bit later
because I think there is value. I think that the
one thing that's different because we talked about Addison a
little bit right when we recorded our first adp Risers
and Followers, because it was right after the the news
(37:39):
broke of the potential DUI. I think with Addison, the
fact that he came out and said, hey, I'm going
to just wear the suspension. I'm just going to accept it.
That means he's probably not going to appeal it, which
means he would he would serve the suspension right away,
which gets a rid of situation where he's missing those
playoff weeks during the best Ball format or the best
Ball playoffs. So that's something to keep in mind where
(38:01):
I think that there was more concern that, Okay, what
if it's during the season, he appeals it and then
he gets suspended towards the end of the year, which
is what happened to Deontay Hardy when he was the Saints.
He had a duy and he appealed it and then
he was suspended at the end of the season. That
doesn't seem likely to happen with Jordan Addison, so it
seems like he's more likely to get suspended to open
the year. So for redraft, he's going to be pretty
much useless unless you can put your suspended players on
(38:23):
your ir spot, which for some reason you can still
do in some leagues, which makes no sense, but you
got to take advantage of it when you can. But
for me, that also opens up opportunities for Robert Tanyan
or some of these other guys, Jalen Naylor or some
of these other Vikings ancillary receivers to potentially see more
opportunities in the offense. So that's kind of the way
I'm playing. I'm cool with waiting on him, but I
think that he's still someone I want to target in
(38:43):
Best Ball because I think he will be there during
the Best Ball playoffs where there's a lot of things
rolling and Vikings are in a Dome team to play
the Packers, I think in Week seventeen, and that's a
juicy matchup. So I think that, especially given where he's
probably going to fall to the other receivers in that
range a full time even with Sam Darnold, McCarthy is
probably going to look a lot better than most of
(39:04):
the receivers going in his range.
Speaker 1 (39:06):
Yeah, definitely, And it just feels like the Vikings secondary
is going to be bad enough that we want We
want teams with bad secondaries. We saw Washington last year.
They were forced into so many high point total games
and so many shootouts. So I'm definitely still taking Jordan Addison.
I just want him as my wide receiver five. Definitely
(39:27):
don't really want him ahead of wide receiver four in
best ball when I'm taking those teams instead, I can
build around him and then let the upside develop for later. On.
Roman Wilson down eight spot on Underdog. Jacob Cowing of
San Francisco forty nine ers is out with a hamstring injury.
No drop just yet, but it's no worthy either. Both
him and Ricky pearsall are out at the minute. I
(39:49):
think Cowing's expected to miss the next ten days. Mike
Williams has been falling on some of the Best Ball platforms.
He is on the pup list coming off that ACL injury,
but by all accounts they expect him to be able
to go reasonably soon. He did have a clean ACL test,
so not the type like JK. Dobbins, Givondi Williams of
Hardware absolutely lingers and can really have a lot of effects.
(40:13):

Speaker 1 (41:48):
Wide receiver rises just in Jefferson, I mean we kind
of touched on it before. If Addison's going to get
suspended and Hockinson's gonna be unlikely at play every game,
should just in Jeff some be rising up slightly, maybe
leaping ahead of a mom rass Saint Brown just Jama
chase that kind of area. But so far he's staying steady.
(42:09):
Courtland Sutton hasn't risen up much yet. He's up five
spots to ninety seventh for overall in our consensus Best
Bowl rankings. That's after a contract adjustment. He got one
point five million in new incentives, which really isn't that
much at all. Andrew, are you more aggressive on certain
now that it seems locked in that he's going to
be there this year?
Speaker 2 (42:29):
I did finally draft him, so I guess in a
way I am a little bit more aggressive than on
Courtland Son. I think for me, Sutton is a player
that I'm cool taking in wide receiver, where I need
to fill a lot of wide receiver slots. If I'm
going late at I'm going aggressively at running back, quarterback
those other positions, and I'm kind of late to the
(42:50):
wide receiver game. Sun's going to play all the games.
He's probably gonna be the wide receiver one in the Broncos.
Should we be super excited about his ceiling? Not necessarily,
but he's going to avoid giving us zeros, right. I
think that that matters in some basketball context, even akin
to like a Tyre Lockett player, where yeah he's a
declining player, but he's still going to play a lot
and he's not horrible. I do like Sutton more than
(43:13):
Locke because I think Sutton's clearly the alpha there in
Denver until what you see one of these younger receivers
really step up and take it away from him. So
I think that Sutton being in Denver for at least
this other year under the restructured contract, I think is
good and I think that people should be open to
take him in redraft formats. I'm not crazy about having
Sutton because if he's a bench player, what's my upside
(43:33):
case for him in this offense? Unless I'm starting four
to five receivers in some of these deeper receiver rooms,
then I would probably take a shot on Sutton. But
right now, I'm cool with Sutton as a best ball target.
Don't love him that much. In redraft.
Speaker 1 (43:46):
Yeah, kurtis Samuel up one spot, but I think he's
going to rise more taking snaps into backfield. According to
the Athletic lots of positive reports at a camp for him.
Josh Palmer up three spots. Greg Roman loved him out
coming out of college. When it's to draft him with
the race. Evans didn't get his guy then, but now
is with him in la. Jalen Tolbot up thirty nine
spots to Tuner in eighteenth overall. That's right in the
(44:08):
mix for the back end of your drafts. Reportedly, he's
right there for wide receiver free. Brandon Cooks and Dak
Prescott both came out and hyped him up last week.
Paris Campbell up twenty eight spots to three room thirty
six overall, so a long way to go. It be
fantasy relevant according to our rankings. But according to Zach Berman,
who covers the team the Eagles, he says he's been
(44:28):
running is the wide receiver free so far then Greg Daughtch,
Human Torch up twenty four spots, turning and thirty first
we know he's going to be a PPR scam if
he gets on the field. He's been lighting up camp,
taking snaps in the backfield in the return game as well.
Andrew any of those guys, Kurt Samuel, Josh Palmer, Jalen Tolbot,
Paris Campbell or Greg Dortch. You want to touch on.
Speaker 2 (44:51):
The Jalen Tolbert thing is interesting to me because every
time I read a Dallas Beat reporter, they're hyping up
somebody else to be the wide receiver three on us offense. Today. Hey,
I believe it was a guy I did not even
know was on the roster and they were talking about, Hey,
watch out for this particular player. He can make some
noise here in this season. I'm trying to find his
name right now. I remember putting it in one of
(45:12):
our slack channels. Here, I'm pulling it up right now.
His name was not Keon Coleman. Nope. Oh, Tyron Billy
Johnson was getting some hype for the k Dallas Cowboys.
I have no idea who this player is, but apparently
he's getting hype along with all the other Jalens on
the Cowboys. There's a Jalen Brooks. I believe, there's that
(45:33):
Ryan guy who I think is the same age as
Ceedee Lamb and he's a rookie. So Tolbert, I get
that it has to be his job to lose as
a wide receiver three, But I just I don't know
until I see a little bit more from him in
the preseason. I just can't push the button on him
because I'm not so sure how lockedyloaded he is to
that wide receiver three role. I think maybe we're wish
(45:54):
casting a little bit, because oh what if ceedeelamb doesn't
show up? What if Ceedee Lamb is going to hold
out into the season, which you hit at the top,
not very likely to happen. They're gonna agree to a deal.
They're not gonna let Steede Lamb walk. I think of anything.
Ceedee Lamb is, hey, out let all these receivers play,
and you're in a scene that you need me really badly.
Speaker 1 (46:11):
Yeah, so Tyrone Billy Johnson definitely a new name for me.
He has been in the NFL since twenty nineteen. He
has been on eleven different teams. He has twenty three
receptions for foreigner in twenty two yards and three touchdowns
according to this but I can't see that.
Speaker 2 (46:29):
I have never heard of this guy since twenty nineteen.
He's been in the league. Wow, that's that's crazy.
Speaker 1 (46:35):
I don't know whether Wikipedia is including preseason touchdowns that
might be entirely possible, but yes, definitely not a name
who's probably even in the playpool for most.
Speaker 2 (46:46):
Yeah, most besides, besides, besides Tolbert, I think the other
guy to call out is Josh Palmer. Yeah, been beating
the drum for Josh Palmer as a great sleeper. He
was on pace to breakout last year before he got hurt,
and it's been a lot of positive buzz for all.
A lot of the Chargers receivers, I think, for the
most part, a lot of McConkie's looking good, Quinn Johnson's
look good. If anything, this is a reason to buy
(47:07):
the dip on Justin Herbert. Okay, Justin Herbert is good,
and by the dip on this passing game, on this
offense overall we're talking about this office is going to
run the ball down their throats. How do you run
the ball? You have leads, you score points. So I
think the Chargers as a whole is just a good
offense to invest into, simply because Justin Herbert's their quarterback.
And when you have a good quarterback, good things happen
(47:28):
around you. So buy the Chargers absolutely.
Speaker 1 (47:32):
Moving on, Donell Mooney up twenty one spots to one
hundred and forty fourth overall, plenty of highlight catches on
the Falcons Twitter feed luck of neighbors with Kirk Cousins apparently,
so that's always a good narrative to lean into. Luke McCaffrey,
who we talked about having the breakfast club narrative with
rookie quarterback Jaden Daniels apparently first in last Out together
every day he's up eighteen spots to one hundred and
(47:55):
eighty first. Dan Quinn said, Luke mcaffrey's skill set is
more refined than he four. That's my Zach Selbyondcommanders dot Com.
DeMarcus Robinson plus thirteen spots to one hundred and seventy fifth. Overall,
this one feels there's a little bit of trepidation about
it because, according to Jordan Rodrieg of The Athletic, she
says that Rams might play more two tight end sets
(48:16):
this year, and the argument for DeMarcus Robinson had always
been he was locked in wide receiver three in a
team that played three wide receiver sets more often than
any other team in the league. Cooper Cup said that
he thinks that rookie wide receiver Jordan Whittington has been
very impressive, called him a pretty special dude. So it
(48:38):
doesn't sound like Whittington's gonna encroach on DeMarcus Robinson's job
as the wide receiver free just yet. But if this
team is going to start leaning towards more two tight
end sets andrew, are we able to take DeMarcus Robinson
with any kind of real confidence in him, particularly if
he's got a rookie wide receiver behind him who's looking impressive.
Speaker 2 (48:59):
I think DeMarcus Robin is probably one of the easier
guys to fade as his ADP becomes really high. He's
a player that we just liked. The role we want
rams wide receiver three, and we don't really care who
it is, And last year just happened to be Debarcus Robinson,
but before that it was too chu At Well before
that it was somebody else. DeMarcus Robinson has been with
the Chiefs and Ravens and done nothing for so many years,
(49:22):
so I don't think that he's turned a new leaf.
I think that he turns thirty this year, so he's
been around for a while. I don't think that he's
in any special talent. We've seen him flame out in
much better circumstances in situations I know last year he
kind of caught fire with Cooper cup banged up to
cut a lot of touchdowns. That's great, but I again,
this is a player that I don't think you need
(49:42):
to regret passing on, especially as the price. I think
the time to draft him has passed. When he was
an eighteenth round pick or last round pick, that was
probably the time to get him. I wasn't drafting him then,
and I think I'm cool with not drafting him now.
Speaker 1 (49:55):
I was drafting him then, but yeah, I'm definitely easing
back bitten now. DeAndre helped Is up eleven spots to
sixty eighth overall. Titan's apparently very impressed with will Levis
so far. According to Jim Wife Tennessee Titans dot Com,
Christian Watson up ten spots to eighty first overall, in
a big part simply because he's still healthy. I think
everybody's starting to come round to what if scenarios. Deonty
(50:18):
Johnson up nine spots to sixty ninth overall. Xavier Leget,
his teammate, also up nine spots to one hundred and
forty third overall. Both playing well at camp, but Dave
Canil has said, as we build our offense, we really
try to feature someone and for us right now, that's
where is Deontay Johnson at any of those guys you
want to touch on.
Speaker 2 (50:37):
So Deontay Johnson always underrated, yep, all the time. And
finally people are starting to come around the idea that
he's going to see one hundred and fifty plus targets,
which is usually a good value and a good bet
to make. But there is a point where he can
be overvalued because touchdowns matter, yards matter, especially in a
half PPR scoring format. There will be a point where
(51:00):
Deonta Johnson can no longer return where his ADP is going.
So that's just something to keep in mind with him.
Deontay Johnson to me and a lot of players like
this where they look like great values and people keep
drafting them because they're great values, but then they stop
drafting them, or they forget to stop drafting them when
they're no longer great values, so they keep going up
and up and up. And a guy that this reminds
(51:21):
me of a little bit when I've been looking at
the underdog board, and Tom, if you disagree or have
thoughts on it, please let me know. Christian Kirk is
like a fourth round pick, and he had almost zero
red zone targets last year. He doesn't score a lot
of touchdowns. I get that he gets a lot of targets,
but in the fourth round and half PPR scoring format,
I like Kirk more than a Deonta because I think
(51:43):
he does have more touchdown upside just in the passing game.
But that's something I just try to always keep in
the back of my mind, especially if it's not full PPR,
that these PPR scam receivers when they get boosted really
highly in half PPR, you got to take a step back. Wait,
Deontay Johnson, I liked him value, but now he's not
a value anymore. I need to pump the brakes a
(52:03):
little bit.
Speaker 1 (52:05):
Yeah, definitely. I think with Christian Kirk, there's a lot
of going back, not till last year, but more to
twenty twenty two when he kind of had that breakout
season after the Jags had paid him quite a lot
of money. He scored seven touchdowns there. He had a
number of weeks where he was a top eight wide
receiver and finished the season pretty strong. But there's times
(52:29):
where I'm on the clock and it just surprises me.
The next player up in the ADP is Christian Kirk,
so I can definitely feel that other wide receivers climbing.
We've got Brandon Cook's up nine spots. Sounds like he's
solidified that wide receiver two role. As we mentioned, Chris
Godwin up eight spots. With big fans of Chris Godwin,
we've been talking him up over the course of these episodes,
(52:50):
bawling out of camp. Top Ball says he's the key
to their offense. Cooper Cup up eight spots to thirty
fourth overall, Khalil Shakir up seven spots to one hundred
and twenty if. Bill's offensive coordinator Joe Brady said this
week his consistency as a wide receiver is excellent. He
speaks so loudly to the quarterbacks to the way that
he runs roots and just continues to make plays. And
(53:13):
Josh Allen has the most confidence in him. So it
sounds like that drum beat is gonna keep going, and
I would imagine that he climbs a bit more. Amari
Cooper up seven spots. Had a contract adjustment like Courtland Sutton,
but got decent chunk more money. He got an extra
five million in incentives this year. And then one player,
the player who I can't seem to stop seeing amazing
(53:36):
clips from. It's Molik Neighbors, who's up seven spots just
to highlight after highlight play the Giants last year, they
were lasting the NFL and passes front ten plus air
yards on early downs according to Warren Sharp, and it
feels like Elik Neighbors is the key to unlocking back.
Do you think we're possibly not high enough on Elk Neighbors,
(53:56):
who was going pretty high overall already? But is there
an argument that we should be going? Okay, well, Milite
Navis is going at third overall, now should we be
taking him ahead of Marvin Harrison Jr?
Speaker 2 (54:08):
Oh my god, I'm so glad you brought up the question.
Because their ADP's are too far apart. They're too far apart,
So either you got to move the Leak Neighbors up
or you got to move Marvin Harrison down. So I'm
so glad you brought up that point. That was something
I looked at when I was refreshing my rankings again.
As I looked at Melik Neighbors, a guy talked about
on my favorite picks in each round a guy that
(54:30):
I liked in Round four, but is a player where
you could see the upside is sky high with this player,
I think that Neighbors has a ceiling where he is
the Giants offense. He is the engine to that offense.
He is Every play is designed to get him the
ball or get him in space, because how else are
the Giant's going to move the ball. They didn't bring
(54:51):
in Devin Singletary as an upgrade to Barkley. They just
needed a running back that could do running back things
with Devin Singletary segue Barkley with the identity of the
Giants offense and going into this year, it seems like
it's going to be melik Neighbors. Why are we seeing
so many highlights because that's all they're throwing the ball
to at trading camp. That's all I have to work
with the Beat reporters, like, please give us a long
(55:13):
Dale Robinson highlight, give us a Jalen Highe highlight. They
don't have any because all the balls are going to
Melakue Neighbors. And I don't know, Marvin Harrison is such
a little bit more of a not a mystery box.
But you know he didn't test know his other question marks.
How athletic is he now? I don't think that he's
going to be a bust. I think that he's going
to be a great wide receiver. But after week one,
(55:34):
these guys are gonna be ranked way closer to each
other right after week one, because I think Neighbors is
going to see double digit targets locked and loaded week
one for the Giants. And can I say that Marvin
Harrison Junior in week one from Kyler Murray? Maybe? But
what if the Cardinals decided to run the ball a lot?
Giants don't have that luxury. They can't run the ball
with the team that they have built around there. They
can't get the ball to anybody else. So I think
(55:56):
the league neighbors. He's been in my top twenty, I
think very early on, and I like him in round three.
And I again, if we're drafting Marvin Harrison at the
end of round one road two, why can't you draft
league neighbors in the same range. I don't think that
the difference. Yeah, I get Murray's a better passer than
Danielle Jones, and I would say that I'm sure how
(56:17):
significant is as just a pure pocket passer, But Milik
Neighbors has the skill set and the opportunity in the
offense to make up for it. Where who's the better
yards at to the catch guy, Marvin Harrison or a
Malik Neighbors. It's Milik Neighbors. And who has less target
competition that's easily Melik Neighbors. So with more volume and
a more explosive skill set after the catch. Now, I'm
(56:37):
so right there with you, Tom. Where Milik Neighbors if
he should be drafted and closer to Marvin Harrison Junior,
and he may out score.
Speaker 1 (56:45):
Him to Yeah, I've got my League Neighbors at twenty
seventh overall, but I kind of try away in ADP
a little bit into my ranking. Silva's a case of,
you know, just automatically seeing him way above ADP every
time you draft in, but twenty spots separate them. He's
going thirty third overall according to our consensus rankings. Marvin
Harrison is at thirteenth overall. So every time I'm on
(57:08):
the clock and I get to the back of the
second round early in the third round, I'll keep clicking
the League Neighbors because it's just such an easy one
for me. Another player we both like, Davanta Smith, is
up seven spots to twenty seventh overall. Kellen Moore talked
last week about how he wants to use lots of
motion in this Eagles offense, but didn't use lots of
motion last year, so that's a big plus for him hopefully.
(57:29):
Van Jefferson up forty nine spots, still sitting at three
hundred and forty second though so well outside the fantasy
relevant range according to our rankings. Reportedly wide receiver two
currently in Pittsburgh according to The Athletic. Some players who
are not really moving up in our rankings yet but
who could be on the move. Rachhard Bateman is up
six spots on Underdog constant stream of Rashard Bateman out
(57:53):
of everyone to do with Ravens, Javon Baker, who's making
more plays at training camp. You saw him, Andrew, I
know you're very high in him. And then Keon Coleman,
who he's had mixed off season so far that hasn't
been much positive said about him by the coaching staff.
I know of a GM came out with some quotes
talking about his lack of ability in the rum blocking game,
(58:16):
but it seems like Josh Allen's really leaning on him
in a red zone role and saying that he gives
them something which they just haven't had previously. So Juvon Baker,
Keon Coleman, Rashob Bateman, any of those guys you want
to highlight.
Speaker 2 (58:31):
Yeah, I think Keon Coleman's probably the guy to talk
about because he has the highest ADP and I would
agree it's been more negative than positive with him. And
even in this positive report we had from the athletic
talking about his red zone role, it ends with maybe
he's a chance to play a fifty percent snap share
of the offense. And okay, fifty percent of the snaps
that's not great. So I think Keon Coleman, I don't
(58:53):
think right now he should be drafted at his ADP
if he's going to be a part time player. So
the Bills are throwing out a lot of part time
this and part time that, because I think they're still
figuring out their identity on offense. Are they going to
be as run heavy as they were last year? They
have more receivers to work with this time around in
terms of quantity versus quality. Obviously, losing gave Davis and
Stefon Diggs. You're losing those top tier guys, but you
(59:14):
have more, you know, b plus players around with the
Samuels of the world and more and sillilary pieces where
you're just hoping, Okay, Josh Allen is just gonna make
everybody better, like that's the play here, kind of like
what the Chiefs did with Patrick Mahomes, which did not
work out great last year. As I maybe we should
have all taken more consideration for looking at him in
the Chiefs offense. So I think the Bills I still
(59:36):
think Kean Coleman's going a little bit high for me,
even if it's just because it looks like he's a
role player in this offense, like he's not going to
be given the week one starting job as that X
receiver where we're not super excited about him anyway. Is
he a red zone threat? Yes, that's great for touchdowns,
but is that super consistent from week to week? Probably not.
So I get if you stack up Josh Allen in
(59:56):
a best ball team, it's really hard to get away
from picking a worthy receiver. So I get that point there,
But in a vacuum, I'm not taking a lot of
key on Kolma.
Speaker 1 (01:00:05):
Now, yeah, so our consensus rankings hav him one hundred
and first overall, and if you look at best ball platforms,
he's gone. It's seventy seventh on Underdog, seventy third on DraftKings,
seventy seventh on Drafters, and one hundred and fourth overall
on f FPC Slim format's the only one that's lower
than us in the rankings. Rashie Rice is up four
(01:00:27):
spots to seventy six overall on Underdog. It seems like,
as you mentioned earlier, with the suspension not coming yet,
everybody is just counting that it might not come at all.
Andrey Yoshivic he's not up at all on any site yet,
but it feels like there will be a rise come
in because he's emerging as the Bengals wide receiver three.
With Jamar Chase not taking part in training camp so far,
(01:00:50):
it's opened up extra snaps for Yoshevich, who apparently has
done really well and if he can solidisfy himself into
that role, it'll be a great role to have Djhr
up fifteen spots on Underdog tip to be out there
for two wide receiver sets for the Charges pervy athletic
Andrew anything quickly on those before we move on to quarterbacks.
Speaker 2 (01:01:10):
We took yours it to one of our draft do
we did that we did together, so it was looking
like we got some closing line value in the twentieth round.
Speaker 1 (01:01:19):
I'll take it. Obviously that one could be a little
bit tricky because various Jermaine Burton there as well as
other players who Bengals might look to mix in, but
worth keeping an eye on. Definitely. If you're enjoy this
new show along with the draft shows that me and
Andrew have been doing, do us a solid leave a
positive review wherever you're listening to this, it really does
(01:01:40):
make a big difference. Moving on to the quarterback fallers.
So we'll start with quarterback rises. We've got Matthew Stafford,
who is up two spots, had a contract adjustment five
million more dollars this year, four million more guaranteed for
twenty twenty five. Perty in rap report, Anthony Richardson up
three spots. Shane Styke can say it won't limit his
(01:02:00):
running quote, was you gonna limit Steph Curry from shooting
three points? When speaking to the press last week, Aidan
O'Connell up thirty three spots to two in seventy fourth.
It sounds like he has a real shot start this season.
According to Logan Reeven, who covers the team, he said,
started with the first team offense in the first eleven
and eleven's here at camp. Any of those guys you
(01:02:22):
want to highlight in particularly Andrew.
Speaker 2 (01:02:26):
Well, that's actually the guy you didn't mention yet. So
Sam Darnold, that's actually the player I thought was the
biggest riser because I think that he has the job
for potentially a lot longer than this the start of
the season. I don't want to give away my insider
information or anything like that, but spent last week at
the FSGA in Boston, so I talked to a lot
(01:02:46):
of high profile people and there were some that were
saying that within the Vikings organization they don't view McCarthy
as QB two, and it goes Donald mullins MacCarthy in
terms of the pecking order and everything about McCarthy's been
we want to be paid with this guy. We're not
going to start until he's ready, and given the state
of the Vikings where we have Jefferson and then who
else behind him? Addison's going to miss games at some point.
(01:03:09):
Hawkinston is coming back from his torn acl Why throw
McCarthy out without all of his toys and weapons to
work with. What's the point of that Your defense is
going to be horrible, You're going to be playing shootouts.
That's not a recipe for success for rookie quarterbacks. So
I am buried down on McCarthy in terms of I
just don't think he's going to see the field soon.
That's kind of the take care with McCarthy, and he's
(01:03:30):
a younger player, so I don't think the Vikings have
the incentive to feel like they need to rush him.
They didn't spend a lot to get him in terms
of they didn't have to trade up to get him
in terms of the way that they did it, or
they did trade up, but they didn't spend as much
capital as we initially thought. They got those two first
round picks, they didn't have to use both first round
picks to get JJ McCarthy necessarily because they had the
other first round pick as well. So that's just something
(01:03:51):
that I wanted to share. And Sam Darnold to me,
is a value he goes super late. This is an offense.
What was Nick Bullens doing last year three hundred passing
yards games left and right. He's got Jefferson and if
he has Addison, I think that he could make some
noise as a pocket passer, especially given how bad the
Vikings defense might be.
Speaker 1 (01:04:11):
Yeah, Sam Donald is up twelve spots two hundred and
forty fourth overall, so he's definitely creeping up to that
draftable range. And all the reports have just been that
he's been throwing bombs to Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison
out there. He's been looking great. That might be the strategy. Yeah,
you know what else I'm going to do. I mean,
if that's what it takes, I'm down with it. Meanwhile,
JJ McCarthy is down thirteen spots to one hundred and
(01:04:33):
seventy nine. You kind of touched on it, but Kevin
O'Connell did say that he won't put JJ McCarthy in
until the situation is right. He said he doesn't know
whether that's the former quarterback within him, that he just
doesn't want to throw a rookie you in a bad situation.
But it's definitely one that if you'd ask me a
month ago, I felt much more confident that JJ McCarthy
(01:04:54):
would beat out Sam Donald and so far just haven't
really had any of the sort of positive vibe in
that way that would lead me a thinger that's going
to be the case early on. Now, Daniel Jones is
up six spots. He started camp healthy, which definitely wasn't
a certainty. He's playing okay at camp. You know, we
(01:05:14):
see all these Milite Neighbors highlight reel shots. There have
been some reports that he's been inaccurate over times, and
there's been the odd catch where I think Milite Neighbors
was having to go back to the ball because he'd
been under throne, and that's something which we sometimes see
with quarterbacks coming off a cl injuries. They lack the power,
they're not planting their leg as strongly as they might
(01:05:35):
have done previously. So that definitely bears watching. But saving
grace for Daniel Jones being with Drew Locke, the QB
two in New York has been playing pretty awful, so
it seems like Daniel Jones is going to be you know,
his seat isn't going to be too hot anytime soon.
The last quarterback riser is Deshaun Watson, who's up five
(01:05:55):
spots to one hundred and forty fifth overall. Mixed reports
has a bit of stuff out there of it, he's
still not throwing every time, despite then hearing stuff from
the team saying that he has no restrictions on him
in camp. Apparently it looks good, but so did it
last year. Andrew any forts on the Shawn Watson Daniel
Jones before we move on to the falls.
Speaker 2 (01:06:16):
I think those are players in redraft you probably don't
need to dive into deep. I think they're kind of
outside that one quarterback late round QB pool. I think
you can go by un once you're in a deeper league.
I think they're both interesting in deeper leagues for that
reason because I think they both can run. They're both
obviously question marks at about the passing, but you have
ways and you see weapons. They've both been QB ones before,
(01:06:39):
so that's the saving grace where Okay, at one point
they were relevant for fantasy. It's obviously been a couple
of years. Dale Jones and Wats of both game with injuries,
so I do I don't mind them in three QB
builds in best ball because you don't necessarily have to
stack them because they do have some mobile So if
I get boxed out of quarterback or someone blows up
one of my I'm setting up by perfect stack and
(01:06:59):
then somebody Jordan love On stacked and then I need
somebody to I need someone to fill in the hole.
I think that Watson and Daniel Jones are usually the
guys that I try to use as bailouts because I know,
even if I only have one stacking partner or even
naked Jones or Watson, like, I'm usually okay with that.
Speaker 1 (01:07:16):
Yeah, So quarterback followers, Aaron Rodgers, down fitting spots to
one hundred and fifty third, says that the Achilles is
feeling good. I think more people are just coming around
to the idea of this offense might be slow, and
as we've talked about previously, it's been quite a while
since he last passed three hundred passing yards. Trent Williams
is holding out in San Francisco, and this is part
of a bigger trend for brock Perdy, who's down eight
(01:07:36):
spots to one hundred and second. Overall, of course, we've
got the rookie wide receivers both pearce All and Downing
who are injured, and then We know that Brandon Ayuk
is doing the hold in, so he's not pratt since
so it's basically just Deebo, Joan Jennings and George Kittle
out there. So brock Perdy's falling a little bit. Justin
Herbert down eleven spots to one hundred and twenty third overall.
(01:07:58):
Greg Roman apparently in press by his Juel Fret abilities.
Maybe he vis a little bit sneaky upside any of
those free you want to touch on Andrew.
Speaker 2 (01:08:06):
Justin Herbert continue to buy the dip on these Chargers players.
I don't understand he's a good quarterback. I believe in
the first three years of his NFL career he threw
for more passing yards than anybody else. That's who you want,
and I get the offense all it's gonna be super
run heavy. I think that we're just being too aggressive
with that. Yes, they may be more run heavy than
pass heavy, but so much of run past game splits
(01:08:28):
depend on the game script that you're playing in that
particular week. So I think he's gonna have plenty of
spike weeks. I think he's QB seventeen. Again. I always
say this about Chris Godwin named thirty three receivers better
than Chris godd which somebody did. Really I didn't agree
with I didn't agree with all of them, but they did.
They didn't name thirty three receivers that they thought were
better than Chriscott, which I respect, I didn't agree with them,
but they did. At least try name sixteen quarterbacks better
(01:08:50):
than Justin Herbert. I don't think you can find sixteen
quarterbacks that are better than Justin Herbert, at least in
my opinion. So those are notes on those players. Trent Williams,
I just think the forty nine ers offense. I've brought
this up in a lot of different shows, but very
healthy last year. This team is very top heavy. If
they were to lose Trent Williams or one of these guys,
you're gonna see Purdy's production drop off significantly. So outside
(01:09:14):
of forty nine Ers stacks in Best Ball, I don't
draft Rock Party, and I'm not going to draft Rock
Perty in redraft because I think that he's a little
slightly overvalued compared to some of these other pocket passers.
Just give me Jared Goff with my last pick and
done't have to worry about Rock Perty, Jared goff indoor
Kat never has to go outside. I love that. With
the best offensive line in the NFL. In my opinion,
(01:09:35):
the forty nine Ers do not have the best offensive
line in the n IF. I don't think it's even close.
And if Trent Williams holds out gets hurt. We saw
last year what happened when they missed pieces from this offense,
and it was a disaster. So I don't think that's
going to happen to Detroit or some of the other
late round quarterbacks. So for me, I'm mostly out on party,
except if I take Iyuk or George Kittle and I'm
looking for a quarterback to stack. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:09:54):
I mean when it comes to pocket passes like Brock Purdy,
I'm a big believer of it. Unless you got two
of the pass catchers, then unless the offense is insanely narrow,
it's just not going to pay off for you in
the way that you needed to. Justin Fields is down
eleven spots to two hundred and eighth overall, but he's
getting start snaps at the moment. With Russell Wilson dealing
(01:10:16):
with a tight calf muscle, Russe himself is down eight
spots that one. It just feels like this isn't a
bad situation for the Steelers because they probably want to
see Justin Fields with the stars. It sounds like there's
been mixed reports out of camp, like we know that
Justin Fields is good when there is an NFL defense
is charging down at him when he's thrown against air.
(01:10:39):
We know we can throw a beautiful pass. But do
you think that Justin Fields is a real chance to
steal this job away from Russell Wilson before the season starts.
Speaker 2 (01:10:49):
I think this could be the beginning of the end
for Russell Wilson starts with calf tight. What is he
doing that's causing his calf to be tight? It's called
being old. They're getting there. He's thirty five years old
and finished the season, or he hasn't played a full
season in three straight years. We're gonna get Justin Field starts,
and I think it's going to be more likely to
happen in the back half of the season, if not
(01:11:10):
early on. If this injury lingers, what happened? What about
remember Joe Burrow's calf? Oh yeah, that was great and
it totally derailed the entire season. For the Bengals. But
the Steelers have an answer. They have a backup play
in Justin Fields, And Tom, I was thinking about this
when it comes to last round picks in Best Ball drafts,
and would it surprise anybody when I'm looking in the
(01:11:30):
eighteenth round Justin Fields? To me, I get that he
doesn't always fit in your builds, but when I'm looking
at players like who could be the highest scoring player
from weeks fifteen, sixteen, and seventeen going in round eighteen,
and isn't Justin Fields one of the guys that could
do that? I mean, if he's their starting quarterback, then
you could see a situation where he scores more points
(01:11:51):
than anybody over those three weeks at the quarterback position,
giving the weapons in Pittsburgh, given his rushing ability, I
just think that I get he doesn't fit every build,
but I'm finding myself gravitating towards trying to take more
of Justin Field, especially if I've Chiefs or Steelers players.
I think it's more obvious, but I think that his upside. Again,
he's free and if he plays Russellison's already hurt. But
(01:12:16):
I don't know, what do you think? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:12:18):
So I've struggled with Justin Fields at times, Like some
of the drafts that I do over on my channel,
the Fantasy Sanctuary, I'll have guests come on and sometimes
they'll be very pro Justin Fields. And the argument is
for that end of season stretch, Steelers have a Week
nine by which feels like a natural spot if they're
going to change from one quarterback to the other, that'd
(01:12:39):
be where they do it. So there's definitely an idea
that you could get half of the season of either
Russell Wilson or Justin Fields. And when you look at
quarterbacks who are taken after pick two hundred or underdog,
you're talking about Bonix, Justin Fields, Russell Wilson, JJ McCarthy,
(01:13:00):
Sam Darnold Gardner, Minshew A, no'connell, Michael Pennix. Like before,
it becomes just even further into the back of weeds.
Justin Fields had one of the greatest Russian quarterback seasons
of all time, and there was a very flukey amount
of like seventy yard broken play runs which ended in touchdowns.
It isn't really something you're going to see recreated, and
(01:13:23):
you could definitely also make the argument against its, say
he's playing against the Browns and Ravens, two of the
best defenses in the league in the AFC North for
really physical conference. But the other on the flip side,
it's just In Fields, and he has nuclear upside. I
struggle with the idea of taking a zero any player
(01:13:44):
for more than six weeks. I think, you know, if
you know a player is going to get suspended or
if you know a player is going to be on
the injury list for six weeks, then it's like, okay,
I can build around that. But by the time that
we're going to get anything out of Justin Fields in
what like week ten, the bye week's starting to really
come quite thick and fast. You know, you need to
(01:14:06):
make sure that you can cover four teams being on
a buying week six, four teams being on a buying
week five, two teams being on a buying week seven.
So I go back and forth on it, and if
I was to say that this one thing that gives
me a lot of pause in how I ranked players
and how I feel about this season, just in field
(01:14:26):
situation is absolutely up there.
Speaker 2 (01:14:28):
Yeah, it's it's definitely something that we're gonna look back
on it and think, oh, my god, he was the
easiest pick we could have made, or it's gonna be
he didn't play at all. He was a horrible pick
because Russell Wilson was the guy the entire time. They
never wanted to be fields. All those things happening, I
guess I'm becoming more open to it just because of
this caft thing that popped down for Russell Wilson. I
(01:14:51):
don't think that those things get better. And for me,
when it comes to injuries in the offseason, I'm less
concerned about guys that got hurt last year and are
kind of like rehabbing coming into the year. I'm concerned
about guys that get hurt now. Like that's what I'm
afraid of, is guys that get hurt now, not guys
that got hurt last year are healthy recovered. For example,
we didn't mention, I didn't reference him, but you mentioned
earlier Hendre Miller. I knocked Hendrey Miller down so significantly
(01:15:15):
because he's dealing with a new hamstring injury, which is
what caused him him as so much time last year.
So as someone that was high on Miller, so I
thought he was healthy, that's no longer the case. So
I'm pulling back Mike s boyre on going after a
guy like Miller, and like you said, with Russ, I look,
I don't they say it's nothing. They say he's day
to day. Day to day means week to week, and
he's still not practicing. So I just I got concerned,
(01:15:35):
especially with an older quarterback. We saw this last year,
the calf injury. The achilles has been killing quarterbacks left
and right. This can't end well for Russell Wilson, That's
all I'm gonna say.
Speaker 1 (01:15:45):
Yeah, definitely, we'll round out of the qbs with Tua,
who was down eight spots to one hundred and twenty six.
Now that he's signed four year deal, I think we
probably see him bounce back slightly. He wasn't practicing. He
was doing behold in, basically just hanging around practice. Jordan
Love wasn't practicing, down five spots to eighty seventh. Now,
according to some NFL insiders, he's the highest paid QB
(01:16:07):
in the NFL, But when you look for the numbers, a
little fugezy, I don't think we can really call Jordan
Love that. But either way, great news both those guys
and two guys who I'm quite comfortable drafting, particularly when
we're stacking moving over to the tight end rises. Greg
Dulcich not injured start camp. He's up one spot, which
has caused a fall for Lucas Crull. Taysom Hill, We've
(01:16:29):
talked about before. If you're playing on a platform where
Taysom Hill is tightened eligible, he really is a cheat code.
He's up thirty nine spots in the consensus rankings to
tuning in eighteenth overall, but that is way behind where
he goes on DraftKings. DraftKings, he goes around pick one
hundred and forty five, so do be careful when you're
looking at those. Colby Parkinson of the Rams is up
(01:16:50):
thirty one spots to two hundred and thirty third, edging
closer to that kind of draftable range set to play
a significant role. According to Jordan Rodrigue of The Athletic,
Andrew Dull, Sitch, Taysom Hill, Kolby Parkinson, what do you
want in a hell the Kobe Parkinson?
Speaker 2 (01:17:05):
Probably for me. He's one of the highest paid players
at the tight end position. The Rams shout out to
get him. We're hearing beats of they're going to run
more twelve personnel, And when you just look at their
offensive personnel they have on their team, it makes sense.
They want to run the football. They have good running backs,
they have a good offensive line. Let's get more tight ends.
It's just a matter of is it worth casing the
money with Parkinson or is Davis Allen, the guy who
(01:17:28):
flashed a little bit as a rookie last year, probably
has more pass catching juice than Kobe Parkinson, who has
really more or less bit a red zone or a
blocking tight end. But it all may be just coming
down the red zone usage, which you see both pass
catching and blocking tight ends get utilized. And so I'm
kind of throwing my hands up. I've taken some Parkinson
(01:17:49):
and some of these late when I need a late
tight end, especially if I have Rams or Cardinals players
getting some Week seventeen correlation. But again, even that's not
a lock because you have Tyler Higby who may be
in the fold. So I think early on, I think,
especially redraft, I think one of these Rams tight ends
is worth taking a shot on. I think the preseason
might give us some more usage. It looks like Parkinson's
(01:18:09):
just blocking and David Allen, oh, he's running all the routes. Okay,
now we can shift to get into Davis Sullend. I know,
had a person on Twitter call me out and say,
Dave Sald's the guy, and I was like, you might
be right. I'm not one hundred on Parkinson being the guy,
but I think one of these rams tight ends, especially
early on. I mean, Jordan Rockery knocked it out of
the park last year with the Kien Williams thing without
(01:18:29):
actually telling us, So we should pay attention to these
rams tight ends for sure. So Parkinson, Davis Allen definitely
on my target list when it comes to the late
round tight ends.
Speaker 1 (01:18:38):
Fil Johnson up twenty eight spots to turn sixty fourth
overall off the publist. Practice on Sunday and Monday took
the majority of first team snaps on Monday, according to
NJ dot com, ahead of Daniel Bellinger, brought Bauers up
seven spots to one hundred and six, shredding in camp,
mully touchdown catches in Pratice. You know, this is this
is what we were hoping for after a quite season
(01:19:00):
for him. Jake Figuson up five spots to ninety fourth overall,
and then Kyle Pits up four spots to sixty second. Overall,
the roommate narrative is off the charts with Cale Pits.
There is four of them sharing the dorm. Three of
them are quarterbacks, including Kirk Cousins, and the only non
quarterback is Kyle Pits Andrew, Which of these guys do
(01:19:22):
you want to talk about.
Speaker 2 (01:19:25):
Kyle Pits. I think that he's just not getting the
respect that he deserves for this upgraded situation for him.
And it's all good vibes for Kyle Pitts we mentioned earlier,
it's all good vibes for Darnel Mooney. What have we
got with Drake London? The last before I saw with
Drake London was he was overheating at practice because his
ADP is too dang high. Tom, that's the issue with
(01:19:47):
Drake London, it's too high.
Speaker 1 (01:19:48):
I have another Drake London argument. We've gone too long
to get This could be a free app podcast.
Speaker 2 (01:19:55):
Want I want Mooney, I want Pits, and I just
think Crek London's too expensive. So that's it for me
that those are the falcons I want because the narratives
are all there for him, and the thousand yard seasons
are there for those guys, and not Drake London, who
has yet to have a thousand yards in a season.
Speaker 1 (01:20:12):
I mean, like I'm not being pulled into a Drake
London argument. Say all the reasons why kel Pits hasn't
hit one thousand yards last year, they're all fair for
Drake London too. Kel Pits now going in our rankings
right around where his ADP is out on most major
best ball platforms, sitting right around that sixty spot range.
(01:20:33):
The Titan fallers. Dalon Kinkaid down two spots to fifty eight.
There was a lot of buzz last week for Dawson
Knox quote saying that Josh Allen loves Dawson Knox, Joe
Brady saying that Dawston Knox is going to be huge
for their offense. So it kind of makes a little
bit of sense that we're seeing a tiny fall for
Dalon Kinkaid. But also there's been plenty of reports at
camp that Donal Kinkaid's been lighting it up. Juan Johnson
(01:20:56):
down thirty one spots to one hundred and eighty ninth overall.
Back at practice, perhaps a bit earlier than we expected
him to be. Not in full contact yet, but he's
out there. He's doing some drills, some light work. Then
took a craft down twenty six spots to tune in
thirteenth overall, still on the pup list. No idea when
he is coming off it. Andrew Kincaid, Juan Johnson took
(01:21:16):
a craft. Who are we talking about?
Speaker 2 (01:21:19):
Well, the Juan Johnson one. I had no idea he
was back of practice. That shocked me when I saw
it in the show sheet. I was, whoa, he's already
back as someone that was Friday and sometimes I I
played tight end Chicken and then I see Juan Johnson
at the top of the queue with the big out
tag next to his name, and I'm, oh God, I
hope his foot is better. I need a guy to
(01:21:40):
go to because if he's healthy, he's definitely a value
right now. So I think Juwan Johnson being back of
practice is really interesting, especially coming off foot surgery. Catching
again him was catching passes, not doing a lot, but
this Saints offense could be a lot better under Clint Kubiak.
So I think Juwan Johnson is definitely pointing up in
the right direction. You know, we talked about not being
crazy with drafting players that are hurt right now, but
(01:22:02):
it is all baked into his adp which is basically
you can take him with one of your last picks
because of the injury, where before he was more of
a fifteenth sixteenth round pick as one of these late
round tight ends. So I think that's something that's noteworthy.
And Dawson Knox is another tight end that I like
the draft of eight a lot of the time, whether
it's because I have Jets players, he's got correlation with them.
Week seventeen, I think that the Bills offenses is going
(01:22:25):
to be They're going to score touchdowns, right, and as
we try to figure out who is it going to be, well,
I know we talked about Khali shakerb being the most
veteran guy on that offense partechicularly, it's actually Dawson Knox
like he's actually been there the longest. With a Josh
Allen as coming back from my betting pros background, the
amount of first touchdown bets I've won and lost on
Dawson Knox, It's a laundry list of first touchdown bets
(01:22:48):
on Dawson Knox, some much better than the others, but
he gets red zone usage. So if these reports are
true where it is Dawson Knox and kin Kid are
kind of more in a split. Well, then Dawson Knox
is going way too late. We're drafting Isaiah likely every
single draft. Why Dawson OC should be drafted in every
single draft within the top eighteen rounds. Not just because
(01:23:09):
it is a lone role in the offense, but the
continuency upside of well, what if kin K gets hurt?
Is Dawson Knox now a tight end one in this
offense where we're not super convinced about these receivers commanding
super high target shairs. Well, Knox has been a red
zone guy before, so looking for touchdown upside, I cast
you a high powered offense. I think Dawson Knox is
(01:23:29):
one of my favorite late round tights that you can take. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:23:32):
Juwan Johnson is back of practice again today on Monday.
He jogged worked off to the side. It's apparently looked okay.
Sounds like he is making decent progress. David and Joku
down seven spots to one hundred and three overall, Showan Watson.
It just feels like that's what's dragging David and Joku down.
I think if Hillan Watson has more positive reports then
David and Jok who is going to bounce back further
(01:23:53):
daland Schultz down six spots to one hundred and thirty
if cole Comet down six spots to one hundred and
thirty seven and Read down six spots to one hundred
and fifty fourth overall, and then let's finish on Travis
Kelcey down five spots to thirty eight overall. Hollywood Brown
lighting up camp Xavi Worvy bowling out. It sounds like
Rushie Rice. You know, people getting more confident on him.
(01:24:14):
So if everybody's doing well with a wide receiver position,
somebody probably has to received a little bit, and so
far it's been Travis Kelcey. Do you feel like thirty
eight overall is undervaluing Travis Kelcey.
Speaker 2 (01:24:24):
I think it's fair. I think Travis Kelcey no longer
gives you that he's the best tight end edge anymore,
but I still think he can give you an edge
over average tight ends, Like I think that he's fairly
priced with the other quote unquote elite tight ends. But
there is always the risk with the age and the
fact that the chiefs are more concerned about winning games
(01:24:45):
and getting to the playoffs and winning the super Bowl,
rather than oh, we got to make sure Travis Kelsey
gets his production and does it that way. So you
know me, I'm always waiting for Marc Andrews. That's the
tight end I want when I'm going with the elite structure.
But the fact that Hollywood's balling out or are these
balling out? Rashie Rice isn't going to get suspended, at
least it doesn't seem like it. Patrick Mahomes sometimes goes
(01:25:05):
to the QB four in these drafts. Mahomes, we have
a fifty touchdown in five thousand yard passing season. Loading
for Mahomes, I think, especially if that defense regresses in
any way after last year being so elite, I think
that Mahomes. I don't know why I feel like, especially
with how easy it is to stack all of his players,
which it usually is never I think for a best
(01:25:26):
ball again, I'm not going to draft Mahomes and redraft
because I like the late run quarterback approach more, especially
with all the late run quarterbacks. But in the best
ball format where I want to take more elite quarterbacks
because you don't have access to the Waiver Wire Mahomes.
It's Mahomes and Lamar. Those are the two guys I'm
always eyeing, And sometimes I settle on Mahomes because it's
easier to get him stacked, whereas I'm trying to like
(01:25:48):
play the ADP. I'm sure you've done this before. You're
trying to play the ADP game with Lamar and Zay
and the Houston receivers and Andrews. You're trying to figure
out how you can get and match them up the
right way without guys falling. So sometimes it's just easier
to draft my Homes and take some of these Chiefs guys.
Speaker 1 (01:26:03):
Yeah, and definitely there's things you can do with my
Homes and Kelsey, like pulling them up slightly earlier, to
stack the two of them together and then just going
okay out of Hollywood Worthy and Reshie Rice, I'm going
to get one, maybe two of them when things come
back around to me and seeing how much of a
big chief stack you can make. So it's definitely interesting, well, sir,
at a price, and any kind of Kelsey dip makes
(01:26:24):
him more interesting to me. There was a point this
summer where he was going get twenty third overall on DraftKings,
which always felt too high, so slipping back down into
the phaties, I will eat that up. That is going
to do it for us this week. Absolutely massive show.
