Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome in everybody to Fantasy Pros. This is the Fantasy
Football Podcast. It's be Joey b Joe pie Zapia and
it's time to look ahead to the waiver wire for
Week three. There may have been, oh, I don't know,
one or two big injuries this week, but we'll somehow
get by as we always do. And to help us
get the right names, of course, my best friends Patty Cakes,
Bat Fitz Morris and Debro Derek Brown, the King of Bros.

(00:23):
Are here. It's Monday. We've got two games left to play,
so hopefully everybody stays healthy from those. But certainly there's
some players to peel over the waiver wire. And it
was some fun football out there in week two. Certainly
some explosive performances, a lot to digest, a lot to
take in. But of course, before we get to all that,
I want to give away some free stuff and the

(00:43):
winner of the perpetual Fantasy Football Trophy Giveaway from Trophy
Smack is Joshua Hopwood.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
Joshua, congratulations.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
You subscribe to the fans Bros your two channel. You
drop your comments below you like this video and of
course ring the belt to it goes ding, so you
never miss a piece of content on the channel. And boys,
it's time to kick off Waiver Wire and let's talk
about our Waiver Wire out of the week, and it's
a quarterback, mostly because we know everybody out there is
looking for a QB who had Joe Burrow, who's going
to be out for months and months. So let's talk

(01:58):
about Daniel Jones. That's right this year, Sam Darnold question
mark or period, I don't know what punctuation you want
to put on the end of that sentence, but he
has rostered in thirty five percent of leagues. Yesterday against
a very tough opponent, not the Miami Dolphins three sixteen
twenty three of thirty four, he threw for a touchdown.
He didn't have as many rushing yards as he did

(02:18):
the week before he had twenty six, but we all
know Daniel Jones could bring that rushing equity as well,
So let's talk about it, because I think the big
story of the week is, of course, the Joe Burrow injury.
Deep Brow, I'm gonna start with you on this one too.
Daniel Jones is out there. We could talk about Browning
as well in those deeper leagues as also, because I
think that's important to speak of. But let's talk about
Daniel Jones. What you saw out of him yesterday with

(02:39):
a much tougher opponent again two games at home, but
also perhaps an evolution of Daniel Jones to at least
a decent fantasy quarterback you can rely on again, question Mark.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
I mean, come on, man, Like, I know we're going
we got two games of sample here, but what backs
us off of that? He does look like this year,
Sam Donald, He does look really good. I mean against
what we think is an incredibly talented Broncos defense. Yeah,
I mean you named it all off, Joe. Like Daniel
Jones again for everybody at home, QB three in fantasy

(03:12):
scoring for the week in week one, QB seven. As
it stands of right now walking into Monday night, he
is the QB three in fantasy points per game. You're
gonna rush your equity. The passing is there? What's gonna
slow him down? Guys? And I mean looking at the
upcoming schedule he gets Tennessee, the Rams and Vegas. Are
we really worried about any of those matchups outside of

(03:34):
the Rams pass rush, which Daniel Jones said, Okay, hold
my beer against Denver. So yeah, I mean he's gonna
be a QB one, or at least should be a
QB one in ranks over the next few weeks and
the year twenty twenty five. Yes, it just said that
Daniel Jones should be a QB one in fantasy rankings.
But guys like pick up of the week absolutely with
the injuries to the position, and I mean, yeah, what

(03:56):
are we talking about spend? I mean fifteen percent plus right,
I mean if you got quarterback issues.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
Well, look, Jane Daniels picked up an injury too. Oka,
Fitzy's got some feelings I want to so do the
Colt and Daniel Jones have a thing going on Fitzy
here or is this just a mirage of a couple
good weeks.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
You'll have to forgive my skepticism about the Daniel Jones renaissance,
Like not that I'm totally unwilling to buy into the
redemption of a beaten down quarterback. I mean, Joe, you
mentioned Sam Darnold, he was redeemed in Minnesota last year.
Kevin O'Connell helped get Donald's career back on the rails.
Maybe Shane Stikeen can do the same thing for Daniel Jones.
But in Daniel Jones' best season twenty twenty two, he

(04:38):
finished QB nine in fantasy points per game among quarterbacks
who made multiple starts. He only threw fifteen touchdown passes
in sixteen starts that year and average two hundred passing
yards per game, Like just very average to mediocre passing numbers.
But he ran for seven hundred and eight yards and
seven touchdowns. And I guess that's what we're chasing here
with Daniel Jones. Like rushing value. Rushing value is the

(05:02):
main course rather than a side. It's like eating a
loaded baked potato for dinner basically, and oh.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
If you'll loaded with Chile's a pretty good dinner.

Speaker 4 (05:10):
I mean this would be good.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
And like even this year, Jones so far two games,
twenty eight rushing yards, but he has three t d runs,
So that's where a lot of the value is being
derived from. Look, I'm just finding it hard to get
excited about a quarterback who in seventy two careers starts
seventy two career games I think seventy one starts, has
forty seven interceptions and fifty fumbles, who has averaged six

(05:36):
point six yards per attempt for his career and is
currently sitting at nine point three on the young season,
And oh, by the way like the Colts offensive line.
They've allowed a sub ten percent pressure rate so far,
which is amazing, and you know they did it. Miami
blitzed at the highest rate and Week one installed the
third lowest pressure rate. Like not surprised that Miami was pitiful,
like getting pressure on the quarterback, but like the Broncos

(05:59):
best passer pass rush in the league last season and
they were not getting home against Daniel Jones in Week two.
I just wonder if that normalizes a bit. I mean,
even if this is a really good Colts offensive line, Joe,
I just I feel like this is a trap, and
I just I don't want to fall for the banana
and the tailpipe.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
Answer me this, do you think that Shane Steichen is
a better offensive mind than Brian Dable?

Speaker 4 (06:21):
I do?

Speaker 1 (06:22):
Okay, I do too, So I think that's a little
bit so three for three there. I think that might
be a little bit of the room for optimism. I
think all of your skepticism is valid. I always want
to say I don't want to publicly validate all offense skepticism.
But at the same time, I think if we, you know,
wait too long, you could also miss out on something.

(06:42):
But I want to talk about deeper too, because Joe
Burrow's injury obviously the big headline of the week, right,
I mean a lot of game stuff talk about, but
Joe Burrow's injury makes a seismic impact, and in super
flex leagues especially. And I dialed back here Jake Seely
and I talked about this on the short form wave
of wire. You can go check it out on the
go on the YouTube channel as well. I went back

(07:02):
to when he took over for Joe Burrow a couple
of years ago, right, So back to twenty twenty three,
and I was look at the game log for him, right,
and he finished against the Ravens in Baltimore and home
against the Steelers is QB twenty three, then eighteen, then
against Jacksonville QB four on the road Indianapolis QB four,
Minnesota QB eight. Then he was QB twenty one again
against Pittsburgh tough defense a couple of years ago for sure,

(07:23):
then QB eight and QB nine. FITZI would we be
under selling the value of Jake Browning for super flex
leagues if we didn't say you should be hyper aggressive
if you lost Joe Burrow because he's got all the
weapons there, He's got Teah Against, He's got Jamar Chase.
He knows the system. He's got Chase Brown the same coach,
same verbage, same everything. Yeah, the offensive lines of the disaster.

(07:46):
Just asked Joe Burrow. But at the same time, Jake
Browning might be a better solution than people realize. You
think that's factor fiction.

Speaker 4 (07:54):
I think it's fact and funny. You should mention it, Joe.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
I happened to have Joe Burrow in a super Flex league,
and I'm going to be very aggressive and going after
Jake Browning.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
Yeah, me too. I just don't have any money left
to get him. That's the problem. So all right, Drek
Brown quick thoughts on Jake brown before we turn our
attention to the running backs of the week.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
I'll agree with everything he else said. I mean, definitely underrated.
He's got the ecosystem and the weapons to sit here
and take advantage of the system. And to kind of
backtracking this just a little bit, both of these guys
are incredibly interesting because not only the quarterback injuries. Jane
Daniels is getting the MRI of his knee. C J.
Stroud does not play good. What are we going to
get out of cam Ward. Trevor Lawrence does not play good.

(08:36):
Bo Nix has been up and down. Patrick Mahomes has
nobody to throw to. He's living off a rushing equity.
Jalen Hurts looks like maybe the Eagles offense is broken
question mark. Like, so the quarterback position is really tough
right now. So both J McCarthy, Yeah, and JJ didn't
play good last night. I gotta go back and watch
the all twenty two from that. But this is all

(08:56):
to say, like the QB position as a whole, and
there's a lot of question marks, man outside of injuries
adding to that, well.

Speaker 1 (09:05):
It just goes to show you too, you have kids,
they just suck the life out of you. You know,
congratulations mister and missus McCarthy. But you know, look, hout
good he played against the Bears in the fourth quarter
and then he has a kid. Next thing, you know,
all that energy just goes away, just lose it, all right,
But seriously, congratulation, that's a beautiful thing. All right, So
young though, twenty two years Oh my god. All right,
let's talk about the running back ads, and let's start

(09:27):
the guy that probably should be rostered everywhere ready. So
this is more of a public service announcement that the
fact that he's still under fifty percent in the consensus.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
So again, brads and chads who say this guy's unavailable
in yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
Yeah, I got you, except the fact that he's available
in fifty percent of them. You know how I know
because I look at the tools of Fantasy pros. Okay,
so he is available base Shell Tutin should not be
available in fifty percent of leagues because he is still
fifty five. To be exact, he's still available in. So
let's just say that out pick him up. He's worth
that ad. We won't say more about that because I
want to waste time. I want to talk about the

(09:59):
next guy, because more talking about handcuffs and we're talking
about deeper leagues. Uh, Jake, and I touched on this
player too, Blake Korum thirteen percent roster. Now, it's not
really because of some of the duty when he got
it yesterday in that game. A lot of that game
was kind of early in hand. But when a running
back looks good doing it, I think that's always something
to keep in mind. If Kyrien Williams should pick up
an injury at some point, and you've got Korum just

(10:20):
sitting on your bench as a handcuff. I would say
he's probably one of the top five handcuffs you can
have right now, because I think it's very clear the
offense is good. Sean McVay always is going to find
work for the running backs and fantasy in his offense.
And Pat. I think Korm the fact that he is
so widely available, even even accounting for fourteen team leagues,
like on sleeper, he is thirteen percent rostered. I think

(10:41):
that number should be higher, especially based off what you
saw visually yesterday.

Speaker 2 (10:44):
I do agree.

Speaker 3 (10:45):
I do agree, Joe, and maybe the reason because, like
he was so low rostered because I think there was
ambiguity about who was going to be the backup to
Kyron Williams, whether would be Blake Corm or Jarkwi's haunted
great point. You know, after the RAM spent two fairly
early draft picks on running backs to put behind Kyron Williams.
But clearly it's quorum right now, so yeah, he should

(11:07):
be rostered more widely.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
All right, deebro, what are your thoughts on this RAMS
backfield to a quorum. I'm not saying people have to
empty the tank. I'm just saying, like, look for a
couple of bucks, especially if you have Kiren. It might
be a good insurance policy. With the fact that you know,
this is the NFL and it's a long season. They've
had an extra game, right, Like we have to understand
it's probably, especially in those deeper leagues, probably a good
bench spot.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
No, absolutely, I mean when we're seeing high volume backs,
he needs to be rostered. I mean like a lot
of people got DJ Giddens on their bench because they're like, oh,
he's the clear handcuffs and so it's like, you know,
these guys should have roster spots in twelve teen leagues,
if not deeper leagues, because if we know the handcuff
is all we're doing, you're getting ahead of any possible injuries.

(11:51):
And like we know the war of injury attrition every
single year. I mean, we're already living in at the
quarterback position. Running back could be next in any week.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
We already live that in Week two because Austin Eckler
is out for the year with an achilles injury, and
Chris Rodriguez, who I had to drop in a couple
of leagues that I had him because I had some
you know, tight end concerns, so I had to make
sure that I had more guys. And of course what
happens Thursday night, Austin Eckler gets hurt, and of course
Rodriguez was not active for the first two games. He
is less than ten percent rostered right now across the board,

(12:22):
so he is another free square ja Cory Krossky Merrit
Bill's probably going to get the lion's chair of it. However,
it seems like at least you would imagine Chris Rodriguez
working at a tandem because he is still a rookie.
There will be some moments there where you probably want
to pivot, and Rodriguez has shown you before that he's
worked well in this system. So let's talk about the
value of Chris Rodriguez. I say he's worth a couple bucks.

(12:45):
What say you, Derrek Brown?

Speaker 2 (12:46):
Oh, he's still worth a couple bucks. And I'll throw
another name from the commander's backfield, Cheerman may Nichols. If
you're hurting at the running back position, he's gonna pick
up the Austin Ecker role. I think he's gonna he
was Austin Eckler's direct handcuff I think Bill's role, maybe
he rows a little bit. He's probably the preferred early
down guy. So I don't know. If we see a
ton of Rodriguez, I actually will throw a few shekels
at McNichols in leagues where I'm thin at running back,

(13:09):
because I think he is the one that's gonna have
automatic utility from the word go.

Speaker 1 (13:13):
Like this week, all right, so McNichols and Rodriguez pat
to you, how do you decide between the two of them.

Speaker 3 (13:19):
Yeah, I mean McNichols I think is rosterbull and full
PPR leagues. I'm not really interested in him otherwise, I
just don't think he's going to get much of a
rushing share, But Rodriguez is probably worth having, just because
we don't really know if Bill is good yet. And
that's the truth, and I know everyone wants to be
sort of you know, like the silver lining with the
Eckler injury that maybe Jacory Krossky Marrit is excellent. I mean,

(13:42):
really nice game in Week one against the Giants, really
quiet game in Week two against the Packers, and maybe
it was just a caliber the opponent in week two
that kept him under wrapped.

Speaker 2 (13:51):
But you know, like I love your quiet Packers. That
was very eloquent, sir.

Speaker 1 (13:59):
Maybe it's just the dominance of a team in Wisconsin
called the Packers.

Speaker 3 (14:04):
So maybe maybe we do see that the full JCM
breakout in the weeks to come. But just in case
he's not quite what he has been sold as, it's
worth having Rodriguez because maybe, you know, Rodriguez is at
least gonna drass going forward instead of being a game
day scratch, and you know, maybe he can work his
way into the rotation, or who knows, if if Bill

(14:27):
isn't good, maybe it becomes a fifty to fifty.

Speaker 1 (14:29):
All right, Let's talk about some guys to cut from
the running back position too. Let's start with one of
Pat fitz Morris' favorites hashtags sarcasm. Jaden Blue. Is the
time to toss him aside to the waiver wire? Yes, okay, Debro,
you agree?

Speaker 2 (14:43):
Oh yes, sir, Javonte workhorse season. We're a full go
all right?

Speaker 1 (14:48):
After a spectacular preseason, I gotta say, boy boy, you know,
I really thought Miami would be smart enough to really
just try to establish the run and do everything they
can to run the football. Dvani chans catching them all
over the place, but running football's not be in the
strong suit for the Miami Dolphins's first two games. So
are we cutting, Ali Gordon? Are we holding our breath
for a Mike McDaniel firing and maybe a change in

(15:09):
philosophy coming soon for the Dolphins? Debro your thoughts cut?

Speaker 2 (15:13):
I mean, at I could make more of a case
out of it, Joe. If I didn't see his offensive
snapshare drop from twenty five percent to twelve percent from
Week one.

Speaker 1 (15:21):
I don't get it passed off like something that was
working in the preseason that looked good. They gave you
a different dynamic to the backfield than h Chan gives you.
This is what the bread and butter used to be
of the Dolphins. They used to have a couple running
backs and they will kind of run you to death
and wear you out. Now they just wear themselves out
by the awful defense they play in the awful quarterback
play that I've seen so far from Tua in Week

(15:41):
one and two.

Speaker 3 (15:43):
Yeah, I think maybe the badness of the Miami offensive
line wasn't fully reflected in the preseason Chelle, like against
you know, backup defensive linemen. And that's the thing like
this line is bad and they've had some injury issues
already this season. If anything happened to a Chan like,
I know, people would rush to get out Oli Gordon
off the waiver wire.

Speaker 4 (16:04):
But I don't know if Oli Gordon can replicate what
Chan does.

Speaker 1 (16:08):
He can't. Well, I know he can't.

Speaker 4 (16:10):
Thirty I can tell you that, Yeah, I mean he cannot.

Speaker 3 (16:13):
And this week Han had like thirty rushing yards in
eighty some receiving yards Like OLLI Gordon can't do that.
That's how you have to get you know, that's how
running back is going to get value in the Miami backfield.

Speaker 4 (16:24):
Oli Gordon can't do it that way.

Speaker 1 (16:26):
I don't know, man. I just like I said, I
was hoping we'd get back to a mostert eight Chan
kind of feel with these two guys, and it just
has not happened here. And and to be honest, wins
haven't happened either. So maybe the Dolphins need to reconsider
their thought process on how they run things. Sure, go ahead.

Speaker 4 (16:41):
Can we talk about one other potential drop real quick?

Speaker 1 (16:44):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (16:44):
Please?

Speaker 4 (16:45):
Is Caleb Johnson to drop?

Speaker 1 (16:47):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (16:47):
Yeah, I think he's in the doghouse. Maybe maybe, I mean,
it depends that it comes down to, like if you're
looking at him versus other guys here, I just it's
been look.

Speaker 1 (17:00):
I think it depends on the roster, right, I think
you have.

Speaker 3 (17:03):
To In a deep league, sure you're you're holding him,
But shallow league, I think you have to cut him.
And just for the people who might have missed it,
there was, you know, the down three points early fourth
quarter kickoff that Caleb Johnson is fielding doesn't realize he
has to feel the ball that lands in the landing zone. Somehow,
the special teams coach send a guy out there who

(17:25):
didn't know the rules about the new kickoff, and he
just basically like lets it go and walks away from it.

Speaker 1 (17:30):
I was thinking, too, why is he out there in
the first time? Is he returning kicks anyway?

Speaker 3 (17:34):
Or maybe or maybe he was supposed to know it
and just made a really bonehead and mistaken he reaction.

Speaker 1 (17:39):
Pat said to me he didn't know that he does.
When he came off, he was like, what happened? I
don't understand I didn't touch it.

Speaker 3 (17:44):
Yeah, like this is not He was already buried as
the number three behind Jalen Warren and Kenneth gain Well.
This is not going to help him ascend the depth
chart at all. So it's just hard to see when
the staff is going to trust in him enough to
give him meaningful carries. And I don't it's gonna be
anytime soon. So in shallow leagues, yeah bye bye.

Speaker 2 (18:03):
Eh.

Speaker 1 (18:04):
If you're two to zero in a twelve team league
and you got Jean Robinson and James Cook or something
and some other good rbats and he's like your fourth guy,
everything's sun Jarnon Roses, I would hold him unless there
was something really on the way where ire that can
help you, and probably at the stage there might be.
So yeah, another good name there to mention. Let's talk
about our sponsor, and that is hard Rock Bet. Everybody

one hundred gambler in Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, in New Jersey, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia.
Looking ahead to the wide receivers. We've been talking about

(19:29):
this guy for weeks. I've been talking about him since
draft season and always seems to care. It's twenty eight
percent roster still Elk, a Omanor and FITZI. I don't
get this. I don't understand it. I think we again.
Week one was slow. Debro had a good mention there
I think last week, which was, hey, look at the snapcount,
look at how he's on the field, in the usage

(19:50):
and all that stuff. Even though it didn't return. But
yesterday it did start to return against the Rams. Four
catches on six targets with a touchdown for fifty six.
I feel like you can see that there is a
rapport they are building and something I want to get
on the ground floor. We're trying to get everybody to
have him as cheap as possible. Why have people not
picked him up? Is it just because he plays with
the Titans? Is that it?

Speaker 4 (20:12):
I think so yeah.

Speaker 3 (20:13):
And the appeal is that he is still a largely
unknown commodity at least in the NFL, and he could
prove to be a terrific player, and he's widely available
right now, like he only has one fewer targets than
Calvin Calvin Ridley through two games, and Deebro, you know,
I was very much in a that.

Speaker 2 (20:31):
Was one of your dudes during draft profits too.

Speaker 1 (20:33):
Yeah, I just on all of my Dynasty drafts, I
have him with one of my last picks.

Speaker 3 (20:37):
Like I just I liked him more than Trey Harris
and Jayden Higgins the other big X types. Like He's
just a big, tough, physical receiver, blocks like a demon,
really hard to tackle.

Speaker 4 (20:48):
He has some an Kwon Bolden to his.

Speaker 3 (20:49):
Game cool, and that's a very high bar it is.
I said, some an to his game, Joe, I'm not a.

Speaker 2 (20:57):
Better version of Michael Wilson. So I'll, you know, split
the difference here and help.

Speaker 1 (21:04):
For those for you kids out there who don't know
a Kwan Bolden is. Go watch some go watch some
YouTube videos. I got the beast, all right. So a
deepro anything you want to add here on this guy,
because it feels like I'm not saying like he's gonna
be a difference maker, but by weeks are around the
corner and AOMN is a guy that I want to
have on my roster. Your thoughts, I know you've got
him in a roster and one of these we're in together.

Speaker 2 (21:25):
He's my top wide receiver pickup of the week. And yes,
this is even against Rowandel Robinson, because you're looking at
not only the flex utility right now for the word go,
but what can his role grow into as we move
through the season. Like we're talking about a rookie right
now that is already breaking out. He like he's getting
the target chare. Week one, he got a twenty five

(21:45):
percent target chare and I understand the Ridley shadow bus
certain I get all that Week two, eighteen percent targets
here he turned the target chair into actual production at
fifty to six receiving yards in a score. And who
is going to hop him for targets that passing attack.
It's not Chickacon quote, it's not Toyer Lockett, it's not
Van Jefferson, it's nobody else. And you look at the

(22:07):
upcoming matchups like Indy very good this week, like he's
flexworthy automatically this week Houston Arizona after that a little
bit tougher. But I'm I'm talking like this guy should
be ten to fifteen percent of your fab If you
need to go a little more aggressive, if you're hurting
up wide receiver, I'm even higher than that. Like that,
that's fine. You know your league better than I do.
But this is the guy I want to spend up

(22:27):
for because we've seen the Wandell Robinson show. We've seen
all these other guys and we'll get to some other
names here, but we've seen them produce and we kind
of know who they are. Elick's story is still to
be written this season, and that ceiling in the floor
is very, very intriguing.

Speaker 1 (22:45):
The rest is still unwritten. AKA, with the words of
Derek Brown, let's talk about Wandell Robinson, who you just mentioned.
Debro Ten targets eight receptions last week on the year
fourteen of eighteen for one hundred and ninety seven. Now,
look he exploited for one hundred and with a touchdown,
and look everybody exploded in that game. It was a
wild contest there. And look, wand Down PPR Leagues was

(23:06):
a guy that I always thought had a lot of
value at the end of drafts, So it was kind
of surprising to see that he was still just twenty
seven percent rostered on sleeper and he's still available. So
what is your take and what's your spend on Wandale
this week?

Speaker 2 (23:19):
A little bit less like seven to ten twelve percent.
I think he's more wand Dell was a guy like,
if I'm playing in half PPR formats, I'm not that
interesting because the chances of him scoring a touchdown or
having high yardage And I know I'm talking about this
after he had a career game because just for everybody
at home, that was the best career yardage performance Wondel

(23:40):
Robinson has ever had only his second time to ever
surpass one hundred receiving yards in his career in a
single game. So I don't want to go chasing Haley's
comment here and expect that to produce every single week
when we know that's probably not going to be the
case and the chances of him scoring any touchdowns is
also not going to probably be the case. So in
PPR formats where you need a guy that can be

(24:01):
a flex player for you get you ten to twelve
points in a week if everything works out, great, that's
the the I guess the territory that Wandell Robinson should
live in now, I don't know. I think also the
name of Wando Robinson and he's on the Giants, people
are probably not going to go out there and have
to spend a ton on him. And let's be honest here, too,
like for everything we talked about Daniel Jones, like Joe,

(24:22):
you and I talked about him a ton on the
Sunday Waiver War and not the Wave War the live stream,
and I said, dude, I don't even want to start Russ.
And then he goes out here and he drops four
fifty on the Cowboys and everybody's like, oh really, how
about those RUSS takes? I'm like, okay, can we also
all live in the world a week one where the
entire Giants organization and everybody was like, is Russ even
going to start any more games? We all lived in

(24:43):
that reality too, and we've seen Russ over the last
few years. If the moon balls don't hit, Russ looks cooked.
They just happen to all hit against the Cowboys.

Speaker 1 (24:53):
As we said before the show, not all the moon
balls hit someone.

Speaker 2 (24:56):
Yeah, I think you're right about that.

Speaker 1 (24:58):
I think the biggest lesson is the Cowboys is not
very good, so you want to target them every single
week because you can just dust those guys. And that's
what we've seen. Your take on one Dale Robinson Fitzi
before we get to the next guy.

Speaker 3 (25:09):
Eight point seven yards per catch for his career six
point two yards per target, six touchdowns and forty career games.

Speaker 4 (25:16):
Like I'm just there's maybe.

Speaker 1 (25:18):
Yeah, but he's also played with Tommy DeVito and all
those you know buns legs last year, you.

Speaker 3 (25:23):
Know, like well mean that Russell Wilson. This is not
vintage Russell Wilson. And pretty soon it's going to be
Jackson Dart who's never started an NFL game. So I'm
just not chasing this, you know, like next week it's
gonna be five for thirty seven yards, like it's low
level bye week replacement value in full PPR leagues.

Speaker 1 (25:41):
That's it. Of course, just in case you're wondering, Yes,
the Long guys just showed up, of course right during
the show. So there you go, perfect perfect timing. Long
Guy's awesome. All right, let's go to another name on
the list, and Pat, I can't wait to get your
take on this one, because look, Jane Reed has an injury.
The rest of those guys are question at times. So
Romeo Dobbs, here we go. Twenty three percent Rostered FITZI

(26:05):
give us the Insider chief head take on Romeo Dobbs
for Week three.

Speaker 3 (26:09):
Yeah, I mean, Debro and I talked about whether to
include him in the waiver column, like he's not super exciting.
I agree he is a minimum bid kind of guy,
but maybe his usage does tick up a little bit
while Jayden Reid misses a couple of months.

Speaker 1 (26:23):
Because now it's I low on Golden in a trade
or make a run at Romeo Dobbs for a couple bucks.

Speaker 4 (26:30):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (26:31):
I'm not buying low on Golden, like I just I
don't know if he's good, and you know, like and
Dantevian Wicks might actually in deeper leagues like Wix who
absolutely just turned Marshaun Lattimore sideways last Thursday night, like
he might be worth a buck two in a deeper league.

Speaker 2 (26:51):
Okay, Debro, give us your take on Romeo Dobbs. Dude,
I wish the Green Bit packers just throw them the
freaking ball. And I wish they throw the ball just
in general. Dude, It's like Fitzy and I were talking
about this for the Waiver Wire article, like when do
you feel comfortable playing any of these packers. It's like
you're playing the dice roll weekly, the roulette wheel of

(27:11):
it looks like on a weekly basis, we get enough
packers passing volume to support one guy. Who's that gonna
be this week, who's scoring the touchdown, Who's getting the
targets because all the rest of them are probably getting
left out in the cold. I wish Romeo Dobbs would
get the target volume. I wish the Packers would throw
the freaking ball more. I also wish Matt Lafour wasn't

(27:32):
so obsessed with a wide receiver by committee approach, because
just with Jayden Reid going out, Hello, Saveon Williams, he's
gonna step into that dairy bell debo role. So it's
not like all these other guys are gonna pick up
more routes in the process. So as good as I
like Duves the talent the player, I honestly think like
he should, he deserves more targets. All the per route

(27:54):
metrics look fantastic, but a seventeen percent target chairer on
a team that had like what twenty two passing attempts
thirty one passing attempts? When do you feel comfortable ever
putting that guy into your lineup?

Speaker 1 (28:05):
It's tough. All right, Let's see if I can get
you excited about another wide receiver. How about Troy Franklin
of the Denver Broncos. Troy Franklin prey good week eight
of nine for eighty nine and a touchdown. The week
before four catches on six targets for forty four. That
means on the year twelve of fifteen for one to
thirty three with one touchdown? Debro Is there a rapport

(28:26):
building here between bo Nix and Troy Franklin that's carrying
over from the college days?

Speaker 2 (28:31):
Right?

Speaker 1 (28:31):
These are these are old pals, right, they's to hang
out together, right, They used to, you know, ride the
bus home from school and you know, I don't know
what else they were hanging out and doing, but let's
talk about it because Mims is a guy that I
think a lot of people liked as a sleeper this year.
Troy Franklin, though, seems to be a guy that might
be a little bit more reliable. Or are we taking
too much out of two games?

Speaker 2 (28:50):
I mean, look, Troy Franklin's not related to him like
Tess Johnson. But still the rapport is there?

Speaker 1 (28:55):
Dude?

Speaker 2 (28:55):
I mean looking at Troy Franklin and I know we've
seen this before. I know we been here before. People
like I'm old enough to remember last year when we
saw Troy Franklin in a full time role and then
Sean Payton pulled the rug out from under us. But
I'm willing to die right back in because Franklin, again
going back to pre draft takes, I really loved him.
At him ranked aggressively, the NFL said, uh uh huh,

(29:16):
But now we're seeing the talent maybe bubbling to the top.
I mean, I think definitely five to six percent of
your fab is definitely warranted for a second year wide
receiver that so far this season has earned a twenty
one percent target chair. He's produced two point three yards
per route run over the last two weeks, and in
Week two he led Denver in basically every single category snaps, routes, targets, receptions,

(29:39):
receiving yards. Andy got into the end zone. So, yes,
we always talk about investing in talented second year wide receivers.
Troy Franklin could be that, and you might be able
to do it for not a lot of your fab
considering everybody's gonna say, but what if he goes back
to being just a part time player. That could definitely happen.

Speaker 1 (30:00):
What if it doesn't, Well, Pat, he's rostered in right
now less than ten percent of the just eight percent
over on sleeper, So Troy Franklin is available if you
want him. Obviously, Deebro laid out the possible pitfalls of
Troy Franklin. What do you see when you look at
him this week in terms of a waverwire picko.

Speaker 3 (30:17):
Oh man, I'm just really the wet blanket on this
show today, Joe, Like, I'm like Deebro actually makes it good.

Speaker 1 (30:24):
Be the boys reason, We'll see it's fine. I mean, well, Cash, Look,
I think last week too, Hollywood Brown was obviously the
guy we talked about up top, but we talked quite
a bit about the pitfalls and what it might look
like and the issues that mahomes might have, and I
think a lot of that was kind of, you know,
justified when you came away from you know, week two.

Speaker 3 (30:43):
Yeah, I mean, Debro makes a good point about investing
in talented second year receivers. That's like, that's the best
case here. The the thing I worry about are the
targets going to be there when Evan Angrim is fully
healthy and like playing more snaps And you've also got
Courtland Sutton and you know they like to do you know,
some shot plays and screens with Marvin MAM's and in

(31:04):
a Sean Payton offense, the backs are always gonna get
a lot of targets. So are there gonna be enough
targets to go around for Troy Franklin?

Speaker 4 (31:11):
Like, I'm a little bit skeptical.

Speaker 1 (31:13):
All right, Let's take a look at one more guy here,
Isaac Teslaw, twenty four percent rostered on the Detroit Lions.
I bring him up because he's fun, He's got some talent.
I guess. I don't know where he fits or how
he fits barring an injury. But if you're a team
I think that has I'm on Ross and Brown and
Jamison Williams or one of those two guys or both
of those guys somehow, and I draft it feels like

(31:33):
if one of those guys got hurt, Tesla might be
able to step in and kind of produce. So FITZI
this is a deeper league thing. But ironically, he's rostered
more than Franklin and some of the other guys in
Romeo Dobbs and we've talked about already today. So I
know there's just flashes, but is that enough to throw
a couple bucks and stash him on a roster just
in case, or is it now just not enough room
potentially for him with target share the way things worked out,

(31:56):
or look right now for the Detroit Lions roster.

Speaker 3 (32:00):
In a short bench league, I don't know if you
can do it, you know, especially for a guy who
I think technically is still behind Kalif Raymond on the
depth chart.

Speaker 1 (32:08):
But technically but not rightly right, not in terms of ability,
I don't think right.

Speaker 3 (32:12):
Right if anything happened to Jamison Williams, who do you
think would be out there? I think that they would
ramp up tests to slavs role. So yeah, I mean,
I'm I'm worth it. In some leagues it's feasible and
some it probably isn't. But if it is feasible, I
don't mind dropping a couple bucks on him to you know,
maybe have a lottery ticket on your hands.

Speaker 1 (32:32):
I like guys who just have capital letters in the
middle of their name too, Deebro at the end of
the day, like that's really fun. But I mean, look,
I know it's a couple of good catches. You're like, oh,
we'll get that catch. You look at that catch, But
you know those moments where you get to perform, and
you do. I think those stand out for coaches. So
I know the playing time path is tough, but it's
a long season debro. Do you have any it's just
like just a scout team guy at this point for you,

(32:53):
or is it a guy in a deeper league you
want to have in a.

Speaker 2 (32:56):
Deeper league, Like I'm not against throwing like a dollar
two at him, but it does have to be a
deeper league or a league where I have the bench
space to sit here and absorb that, because like even
the bowl case, like he needs injuries like say like
he even hops Khalif and he's the starter for the Lions.
Everybody stays healthy, that's what does that make him? Probably

(33:18):
like the fifth option in the passing attack, like you
have Jmo amorram or Porta and probably Gibbs above him,
So you would need him to become the starter and
some injuries along the way, which I'm not saying can't happen,
and he's not worth a roster spot, but it takes
a deep bench and probably a deep league for me
to do it.

Speaker 1 (33:34):
All right, let's talk about guys you get a drop.
Let's talk about Calvin Austen did some Week one, didn't
do much. Week two is he had drop deep bro.

Speaker 2 (33:41):
Drop fools gold, never believed in it.

Speaker 1 (33:43):
Same for you there, Fitzy, Yep, okay, both dropping him.
All right, let's talk about Jayden Reid. Let's say we're
in a league that doesn't have vir spots. Fizy, would
you drop Jayden Reid?

Speaker 3 (33:53):
I think you have to. I mean they're saying six
to eight weeks for him with a broken collar bone.
I think the six is pretty optimistic. So yeah, I
think you might be forced to drop Jane Reid.

Speaker 1 (34:04):
Debro from your hand gesture as I'm saying, you agree.

Speaker 2 (34:07):
Yeah, dude, I mean if it's not the collarbone, then
we're worried about it. He still has the Jones fracture
that he's dealing with too.

Speaker 1 (34:12):
Yeah, so lots of problems.

Speaker 2 (34:13):
Not healthy.

Speaker 1 (34:14):
Let's take a quick break in the action to tell
you about this game changing product that I use before
a night out with drinks, and it's called pre alcohols.
Let's face it, the older we get to a night
out of drinks doesn't always hit us the same the
next day. And that's where ze biotics come in. It's
a pre alcohol probiotic drink and it's the world's first
genetically engineered probiotic. It was invented by PhD scientists to

(34:35):
tackle rough mornings after drinking. And here's how it works.
When you drink alcohol, it gets converted into toxic byproduct
in the gut, and it's build up of this by product,
not dehydration. Actually that's the blame for rough days after drinking,
and pre alcohol produces the enzymes to break down this
by product. So look, if you're trying to get that
one last beach day in, you're trying to get that
one last camping trip or vacation, road trip, whatever it

(34:58):
might be, I'm telling you ze biotics will help you
better the next day. And with football season coming up
and your tailgating all that stuff, it's the perfect time
to try z biotics because I think you're gonna love it.
Drink a pre alcohol before drinking, and enjoy the next
day much better than you were in the past. So
go to z biotics dot com slash fantasy Pros to
learn more and get fifteen percent off your first order

(35:20):
when you use that promo code fantasy Pros At checkout.
Z biotics is back to one hundred percent money back guaranteed,
so if you're unsatisfied for any reason, they'll rEFInd your money,
no questions ask Remember head to zbiotics dot com slash
Fantasy Pros and use that code Fantasy Pros at checkout
for fifteen percent off. And now back to the action. Okay,
let's take a look at some of the streamers at
QB tight End and the defense and the kicker side

(35:42):
of things, and FITZI, let's start with you give me
a streaming quarterback for week three? Who do you like?

Speaker 4 (35:47):
Gino Smith look terrific.

Speaker 3 (35:50):
We haven't seen him play in week two as of
this recording, but he looked fantastic against New England on
the road in week one. He's going on the road again,
traveling east to face the Commanders, who didn't hold up
very well in the secondary against the ensemble cast of
Green Bay Packers receivers that Debro was talking about earlier.
So Gino week three in Washington.

Speaker 1 (36:11):
Well, don't worry Fits if he doesn't play well tonight
or if he gets hurt tonight. I'm sure everyone won't
drag you in the YouTube comments for sending Geno Smith,
because obviously everything has to happen in real time for
everyone's life. Now, you know everything has to where you like. Yeah,
in the middle of the night, we were recording the
Way Firepod. No, we do it Monday morning. We get
out in front of everything. We do. Aaron Rodgers is

(36:31):
the guy for you against the New England Patriots. Talk
to me, Deebro about this one. I would take Jake
Browning over him. But that's just me.

Speaker 2 (36:38):
I know. Look, and I know you were gonna hate this,
and I'm mad.

Speaker 1 (36:42):
I'm mad that Jake Browning wasn't either of your guys here.
I'm pissed off about it. No, Jake Browning, love, I
just gave you all those stats, all those QB one finishes.
I mean nothing to you. Nothing.

Speaker 2 (36:52):
I mean, have you seen your Patriots pass defense?

Speaker 1 (36:55):
Or have you seen Aaron Rodgers at this stage of
his career. Don't give me the Jets game. That's the
one thing wanted to get up for was the Jets.
He wanted to stick it to the Jets. And now
that's done.

Speaker 2 (37:03):
And now so is what I have seen, Joey is
I saw Gino drop three sixty two and ten point
six yards per attempt against the Patriots in Week one,
and then I saw two who we just talked about
and we weren't giving kind words to drop three fifteen
and nine point eight yards per attempt against the Patriots
in Week two. So I can make a caveat on
the drop pass defense?

Speaker 1 (37:21):
Can I make a caveat on the drop in the
amounted yards after catch from Devon Ehen that patted those
stats to have played like crap? Okay, don't don't say
to have played well. So just don't want to caveaut that.
That that's a that's a box score. Lie, boys and girls,
don't listen to that man with the beards.

Speaker 2 (37:37):
The box score lot healthy. Carlton Davis looks like he's
lost right now, and they have no pass run.

Speaker 1 (37:42):
That's fair, that's good process. All right, let's talk about
the tight ends here, deebro. You're going back again to
the New Orleans Saints. Well and Juwan Johnson.

Speaker 2 (37:48):
It seems dude, he might I mean, looking at him,
it was him versus I could also make you a
really good case that he could have been the waiver
wire pickup of the week just considering what he's done
so far in the season. I mean, target share week
one twenty six point four percent. Target share. On Week two,
he continues to produce I know the talent, like he's
not some top shelf talent, but in this New Orleans

(38:10):
Saints offense, we know that they're not a good team.
They're going to be trailing, and it's him and Chris
Alave leading the way for this passing attack. Like he
needs to be picked up in leagues. And the fact
that we can still even talk about him in the
streaming portion of this show is kind of a travesty. Fifty.

Speaker 1 (38:26):
I know you had feelings about Jawan, so I want
to give you an opportunity to.

Speaker 2 (38:29):
Talk about mister web blanket.

Speaker 1 (38:31):
Step it in. Go ahead, fancy, maybe it becomes a
warm blanket. Who knows, let's see.

Speaker 3 (38:35):
So it's like I've been trying to wrap my head
around the Juwan Johnson surge, like this is his sixth season.
His best season at this point was in twenty twenty two,
when he had forty two catches for five hundred and
eight yards and seven touchdowns. He was tight end eleven
that year, but only tight end eighteen in fantasy points
per game, so kind of a fantasy spot starter at best.
Juwan Johnson had a thirteen point two percent target share

(38:57):
that year. At the moment he's at twenty six point
seven percent, basically double his target share from his best season.
And I was, actually I was thinking about this while
I was trying to fall asleep last night, like, did
how did Juwan Johnson not really work with Derek Carr
or the Andy Dalton Jameis Winston combo in twenty twenty two,

(39:19):
but he's working splendidly with Spencer Rattler.

Speaker 1 (39:21):
I know because because Derek car could throw the ball
downfield A and make Reid's downfield B and Taysom Hill
anytime that got into any sort of interesting scoring stuff
where fantasy points were available for him once they got
in the red zone. It was all the gimmicky Taysom
Hill nonsense over the last couple of years. And I
think that was a big part of why Juwan Johnson,

(39:43):
like you can't look at the track record and compare
it to now. I'm not saying now is the truth,
but I think the funniest takeaway here for sure is
definitely Fitzy. Is that meme that you see where the
woman is latting in bed and saying, what's this? What
is he thinking about? And he's wondering, there's a picture
of FITZI laying in the bed. I hope that the
art department will make up this meme and put it
on the production Please, if you're listening, production team, I

(40:05):
want the fifty face in the bed saying these words.
I just don't understand the twenty six percent target share
for Juwan Jennings. That's what Fitzy was thinking for.

Speaker 4 (40:14):
The wolver meme.

Speaker 2 (40:15):
Well, the wolverine meme? Were you staring at the picture
of Zy stand there?

Speaker 3 (40:21):
I'm sure, Like you know, my wife is hoping that
things keeping me up at night are.

Speaker 4 (40:25):
Like worrying about our kids off at college and stuff.
But no, it's Johnson. But like what if?

Speaker 2 (40:31):
What if?

Speaker 3 (40:31):
Like what if these veteran quarterbacks just knew that throwing
to Juwan Johnson was a negative ev proposition and not
much good could come from it. And Spencer Ratler just
hasn't figured that out yet. Like, I know that Juwan
Johnson is going to be ranked ahead of Mark Andrews
and ECR this week.

Speaker 4 (40:47):
I guarantee it.

Speaker 3 (40:49):
Mark Andrews has like two catches for eight yards, what
had a touchdown yesterday? But let Grant Dell pit punch
the ball out of his I shouldn't say let it
was a really good he help it, but but I
know a lot of it.

Speaker 4 (41:02):
I know a lot of it.

Speaker 1 (41:03):
Spencer Radler can figure this out. Like I'm loving it.

Speaker 2 (41:07):
I'm just gonna love Rattler's ignorance.

Speaker 3 (41:09):
Then I just I am still gonna have Mark Andrews
ranked ahead of Juwan Johnson this week. I like, I
still think Andrews is the better player, and we know
he is in by far, by far the better offense.
But I just know that a lot of people who
have Mark Andrews are going to replace him with Juwan
Johnson this week on Waivers, and I think it's a mistake.

Speaker 1 (41:28):
I want everybody to know if FITZI was waiting in
the weeds the entire show to take this opportunity to
talk about Juwan Johnson, He's been waiting the whole time.
All right, let's talk about your streaming tight end.

Speaker 3 (41:39):
Who do you have Harold Fannon, who might actually be
really good tough matchup against the Packers this week. But
the one thing the Packers have done is give up
some like numbers, if sort of inconsequential numbers to tight ends.
Sam Laporte in week one and Zach Ertz in week two.
So maybe Fannin gets some you know, cheap completions and
has a decent PPR.

Speaker 1 (42:00):
All right, Fitzy, give me a streaming defense for week three.

Speaker 3 (42:04):
Targeting Spencer Ratler has not really worked out yet for
opposing defenses, but I think it will for the Seattle
Seahawks hosting the Saints this week. Mike McDonald's offense was
really good, Like we saw some of that against Pittsburgh
on Sunday.

Speaker 4 (42:18):
So Seattle versus the Saints.

Speaker 1 (42:21):
Okay, Debro, I like your selection here. They look pretty
good the first two weeks of the season. Give me
your streaming defense.

Speaker 2 (42:27):
Yeah. Falcons put it on the Vikings last night, and
I think we can do it to the Carolina Panthers.
Bryce Young we're still wondering did he's turned back into
a pumpkin. I don't think it looked great against the Cardinals,
So let's let's go with the Falcons defense this week.

Speaker 1 (42:41):
But Atlanta kind of also held the Tampa Buccaneers in
check and Bucky Irving in check. Like I think we
got to like start giving the Falcons some credit. They
went all in on the defensive side of the football
is offseason, and I think it might be paying off finally.
And also Bryce Young, I saw this dat yesterday, blew
my mind to go to talk about this on out
of bounds. The worst winning percentage of any quarterback taking
one overall in the modern day era of NFL. Just

(43:02):
putting that out there, pretty brutal. Nineteen percent winning percentage,
nineteen percent? All right, dreaming.

Speaker 2 (43:10):
Kicker for the week, Debra, who do you have? I
haven't given enough Packers love on this show yet, so
I will. I will atone, FITZI I will atone. Brandy ammanis,
come on down.

Speaker 1 (43:20):
It feels weird that he's a Packer. I don't know.
I just broncos I know, I guess I can't. It
was this gross, feel weird, like when vit Arry wasn't
a Patriot anymore. Just odd? All right, Fitzy, who do
you have? A kicker? All right?

Speaker 3 (43:32):
Matt Prater, who was only keeping the seat warm for
the injured Tyler Bass bought. The Bills have scored seventy
one points in their first two games, and Prader is
getting a ton of scoring opportunities. Only twelve percent rostered
Yahoo leagues.

Speaker 2 (43:45):
Did y'all see the video, by the way, about Prader
when he came into the building, They thought they thought
the Buffalo bills. All of his teammates thought that they
had hired another coach because he's so old.

Speaker 1 (43:54):
Yeah, I did see that. Yeah, they called him mos
up coach. They had no idea.

Speaker 2 (43:57):
They were like, oh, we got another coach in here.
Coach out, dude.

Speaker 1 (44:01):

Speaker 2 (45:40):
I'm gonna go with Daniel Jones at number one. I'm
actually gonna switch the order up here a little bit.
Joey elk Amaner is number two for me, Juan Johnson
is three, Harold Fann and his four, and Wanda Robinson
is five.

Speaker 1 (45:52):
Eight minutes switch from my Derek Brown.

Speaker 2 (45:55):
Look, I talked about Elick a lot on this show,
so we did go into the upside man.

Speaker 1 (46:00):
All right, Fitzy, give me your top five waiver claims
for week three.

Speaker 3 (46:03):
So the shelves are just so bare this week, like
it is, I mean, it's worse. It's worse than bear shelves.
It's like the zombie show where the survivors come across
a grocery stores. Of course they have to go in
and look for food, but the shelves are always empty,
and there's usually at least one zombie who comes out
of some hiding place to attack. So not only are
you not getting any groceries on waivers this week, but
your lineup might get infected by some zombie you spent

(46:25):
fat money on and put it in your lineup, so such.

Speaker 2 (46:29):
A good comparison. I love this so much.

Speaker 3 (46:32):
All right, my my top five laam man or number one,
Harold Fan and number two. I guess I'll capitulate on
Jawan Johnson and put him at number three, like I've
got Daniel Jones at number four. But I could make
a case that Matthew Stafford is a better pick up,
so I'll put I'll put Jones at four in Stafford
at five.

Speaker 1 (46:50):
But there you have it, everybody, that's the Waiver Wire

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
