Speaker 1 (00:01):
Welcome in everybody to fantasy pros. This is the Fantasy
Football Podcast. It is be Joey P. Joe pis a
happy holidays everybody. The Thanksgiving week is here and we
are the show that keeps on giving what we give
to you every week. Waiver Wire claims off the Wire
for your teams. That's what we give you. And Jake
Seeley from The Athletic is here this week for Week
thirteen to get you a few more side dishes for
(00:21):
your main course of a roster as we enter a
very fun week of football. There's lots of games on Thursday,
you got Friday football, you got college football, so you
got everything going on, and of course all your Sunday
games as well. Jake, let's dive right into it here
and let's talk about Emmanuel Wilson because obviously that was
a guy we were highled. Last week we talked about
the Waiver Wire Show, the full one two two touchdowns,
(00:43):
big day from him. Josh Jacob's no surprise he didn't play.
I mean, if you weren't reading those tea leaves all week,
I don't know what you're looking at. It was a
very slim chance that he was going to play in
that game, and of course he did not, and Emmanuel
Wilson did a good job. He was the Waiver Wire
Pickup of the Week last week on the Full Waiver Show,
and this week if be still floating around there, he's
gotta be an ad right now. The problem is it's
(01:03):
gonna cost you a lot more fab.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
It is he he feasted to lean into all your
little puns that you just had there. Because out by
the way, you also missed the Survivor series on Saturday night.
So if you want like something every single days like us,
I will say the reason we're just talking Manue Wilson
is just it's a short week.
Speaker 3 (01:23):
I know Josh Jacobs said put it on paper that.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
He's playing this week, but I'm putting it on paper,
and it's like a game where yes, it's a divisional game,
Yes it's on the road. Yes, you want to be
able to beat the Lions and be like, you know,
take some control of that division and put it in
your own bucket of your control. But at the same time,
what Emmanuel Wilson just did, and if they wanted to
give him the extra layoff on top of that, that
being Josh Jacobs not bringing back on a short week.
(01:47):
That's why, like I would, still Waivers gonna run before
we probably get news of like officially, if Josh Jacobs
is playing, So, like you said, if he's still out there,
he's gonna cost you quite a bit. It's probably only
one week play, but I'm pretty sure everybody who played
him this week is one week play is pretty happy
about it.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
Pretty happy. Look last two weeks, the one week plays
of Michael Wilson, Emmanuel Wilson. Uh, you know, every Wilson
pretty much has been pretty spectacular there except Zach. Yeah, yeah,
that's true Zach Wilson's. But look, speaking of paper, you know,
like I gotta say, it's kind of it's kind of
flimsy here. So I'm putting on paper. I mean, what
are we doing here? It's not look at it just
(02:23):
it's just it's flying around here. It's Josh Jacobs, no offense.
But you just tore the list there you go, I
did you stare the list? All right, old school for you.
All right, let's talk about another running back here. Let's
start with Devin Neil. Your thoughts on him going into
this week.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
This really just has everything to do with Alvin Kamara
going to this game question well, and then he played
and then exited the game, and like Devin Neil hasn't
been impressive. Let's be honest about it. And this offense
might use Devin Neil and Taysom Hill on the backfield
as they did in the game was alf of Kamara left,
So it's not a definite locked in like this is
an Emmanuel Wilson situation. This isn't even Bam Knight. This
(02:57):
is volume. And what you probably could get is the
lesser Videl games with the upside that hey, maybe hits
top fifteen running back value. But at this point of
the season, if he finally starts to click, he is
a rookie maybe learning things in the NFL. You have
to take the chance on him as the number one
because this is let's go back to last year, Joe,
you remember this, who is one of the biggest running
(03:18):
backs in fantasy the final few weeks A mere adulla
like they don't they just don't throw your nuts to
throw your nose in the air, now, three your thumb,
your thumb, your nose, thumb, your nose.
Speaker 3 (03:27):
What I'm trying to think of the saying that don't
put your nose up.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
Tell you, I don't know where you're going with this one.
Speaker 3 (03:32):
You know what I'm trying to say, thumb my nose,
hands and running backs.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
Oh see, I say, I was just gonna wave him
like I.
Speaker 2 (03:38):
You throw your thumb up to your nose in the air.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
Sure you can tell the break is close, everybody, you can.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
Tell you very close. You can.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
Price is so busy and nobody can ever get in that.
Nobody goes anymore.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
That's right there you go another another famous Uh anything
else to share or you fresh?
Speaker 3 (03:57):
We can move on to the y receiver A lot
of I can't.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
Jim ray Dkay who I had to drop in the
league this week because I said to myself, look why
am I going to play this guy? I need more
fresh bodies here for this week. I got to pick
up some other dudes, and well, it was a pretty
good day for him. DK had five receptions for forty
four to touchdown. He also had a punt return for
a touchdown as well. In leagues that you know, give
you return yardage. I mean that's a mustad right now.
(04:23):
And the Titans were plucky. I mean they lost thirty
to twenty four. Like, you know, they showed up and
put on some points on the board against Seattle. But
what does DK's role look like here going forward? Too?
Do you do you think there's a sustainability here down
the stretches he continues to grow.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
I think so, because he's the intermediate option and he's
going to be the one that's kind of pepper more
than anybody else. It's Parker Washington without Jacoby Myers and
out everybody else on the Jaguars.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
It's Greg Dorch.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
And the reason I bring up Greg George is because, oh,
by the way, who the Titans face this week? The Jaguars,
which Greg George. By the way, he's going to come
up later in the show, did a lot over the
middle of the field and after the catch, And that's
the appeal DK. Look, he's not a set and forget it,
he's gonna have bad games. He's still only a wide
receiver for But the real appeal of what I like
him is not just a report that we knew about DK.
Speaker 3 (05:08):
And you're right. I was in the league where I
had to drop him too.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
He was also banged up and there was a question
of whether he was going to be out there for
a week. Well, he took the shot to the chest,
the concussion he cleared, But all that being said is
there is questions about him.
Speaker 3 (05:19):
So I dropped him too in a league where.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
I went and picked up yoshivis So, by the way,
another name, But you're looking at the value of Kim
Ward looked good in this game. And I'm not saying
everything's fixed and cam Ward is great, but going against
the Seahawks defense, he looked probably the best he's looked
as Actually, no, I'll just say he looked the best
he's looked as a rookie against a really good defense.
And I'm not saying everything's fixed, but I'm saying it's
(05:41):
fixed enough where I have some faith going against the Jaguars, who,
just like Greg Dorsh, do a lot after the catch.
DK will fall into the wide receiver four territory of
my ranks this week.
Speaker 1 (05:50):
All right, next up here, John Metch. You have to
say I told some people earlier in the week who
were like, heh, there's nothing on the waiver wire. I said, ah,
you know what, throw a flyer on John Matchie. You know,
because I was like John Metchie when he was in
Alabama and he had the worst set of circumstances too,
comes into the league with the Texas team that was
very bad at the time, and then has to do
with cancer and you know, made it back to the NFL,
which is amazing. But guy's passing on the depth chart
(06:11):
and all that, and he's getting a second lease here
literally on life and career, which is great. It's a
good story, but I'm not trying to buy in because
it's a good story. I'm buying in because I think
he's a good possession wide receiver. That was the role
he played at Alabama. He was the guy that helped
you move the chains and at the time, Jamison Williams
was the guy's to top off the defense and it
worked very well for that team that went to many
national championship. Now six or sixty five of the touchdown
(06:33):
with Tyrod Taylor. If Taylor is the quarterback rest of season,
as Metchi a guy in PPR, they can get you
ten points every week.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
That's about where I would put it out. And the
big thing about it is I thought ada I Mitchell
was still a good pickup two deeper leagues. It's like
the higher ceiling they tried to make Mitchell a thing
in the first game where he was dropping everything, and
they tried again this week and there weren't as many
things that were Mitchell's fault.
Speaker 3 (06:51):
That being said, like.
Speaker 1 (06:52):
He would make the two for seven though seven targets
two catches not a great.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
But they were like he wasn't dropping them like he
was the week before. This was more of learned him
not being on the same page. I say that to say, like,
if we were doing another five, Mitchell will probably make
the list for the fact that we're looking at guys
under fifty percent on sleeper, which kind of eliminates a
lot of names. But anyway, I'm with you on Machi
for the reason that, to go back to last week,
he ran more rouse he was actually out there the
most of all the Jets wide receivers. And then as
(07:17):
of today, we're still waiting for the actual full reports.
We're doing this on Sunday night, by the way, so
if anything happens in Sunday Night football and you're like, oh,
you didn't mention that, that's why.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
So I look at the Tuesday live streamers for everybody.
We do it every Tuesday on the channel. I mean
that which we pick up the pie.
Speaker 2 (07:31):
Yeah, I mean, come on, why are we talking about
something from the forty nine ers, Joe. But that's the
real thing you said. It is the possession wide receiver.
He's the reliable option where Mitchell could still take the
top off the defense, and you saw he actually basically
rained himself out of his boots at that one point.
But Machi's going to be the consistent one. But again,
just a wide receiver for it because he plays to
(07:51):
the Jets. I think the total for this game for them,
the implied total was like thirteen and a half and
you just saw the Jets like barely gotten today. Whether
it was the final number then in the Jets, was
it seventeen ten? No, they didn't even get there, ten ten?
This is yeah, I'm still parsing through everything over here.
That's how bad it was.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
It was not great, it was not gay, But it's
the Jets. So what are you gonna do? All right?
Next up, Jayden Higgins, let's talk about him. He had
a touchdown on Thursday Night Football in a game against
the Buffalo Bills. So is Higgin somebody we can rely
on rest of season? Or is this just another stash
guy hoping you know, maybe if you have to break
open that glass, you can go out there and get
you some points in the night.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
Well, we've actually gone long on the first couple of guys,
So how about this. Just check last week's show, rinse
and repeat.
Speaker 3 (08:34):
Jaden Higgins he.
Speaker 2 (08:35):
Is, Yeah, we're talking about We're talking about a lot
of wide receiver fours. And it's that point of the
year where, like, unless something happens with the Chase Higgins situation,
which we are going to get to as kind of
like a bonus because there's a lot of revolving door
parts at that situation. But anyway, point being is how
many wide receiver twos you're gonna find at this point.
You're not really like Luther Burden if DJ Moore were
to get hurt, But at this point, wide receiver fours
(08:57):
have value, and Jaden Higgins has been running as the
number two. The best part about it is that David
Mills is looking for him in the red zone and
he was already getting looks from CJ. Stroud in the
red zone, which I know a lot of people are like, oh,
c J. Stroud could actually be a downgrade talking about
Davis Mills being the best thing the texasan I've ever seen.
But all that being said is like, let's chill on
that take and just understand that Higgins is still a
red zone threat with with CJ.
Speaker 3 (09:18):
Stroud or Davis Mills.
Speaker 1 (09:20):
All right, let's talk about an Arizona Cardinal wide receiver. No,
not Michael Wilson, who has three hundred yards in the
last two games. I mean, holy cow, I gotta say
you like that. That's not shocking to me. But Dersch
is at least surprising. And I know you've mentioned him
several times on the show. Already six or fifty three
in a touchdown for him. So again, the evolution of
his Cardinals offense, which Kobe presid under center, a very
(09:40):
interesting one. They lost to the Jaguars. You know, once again,
the Jaguars are a team that I cannot put my
finger on. Whatever it's an overtime game, when they keep winning,
I never know when they're gonna win, when they're gonna lose.
I taught Eric I should never bet them again. And
of course this week I bet the Arizona Cardinals too well.
I bet them to cover, so you know they they did.
It was but still it was just frustrating at the
(10:02):
same time. So here we go. Let's talk about Greg
dort here. Because Dersch is at six or fix three.
As I said, he did see nine targets in his game.
They've been throwing a ton, so they're not afraid to
throw the football. Excuse me. With Jacoby Brissett, that is
very clear. Whether or not Kyler Murray ever works his
way back into this picture is unclear, but it happened. Look,
(10:22):
I mean at this point, I don't I just don't
know how that's going to change the dynamic of what's
going on in that wide receiver room.
Speaker 3 (10:30):
Yeah, that's the biggest thing.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
And you know last week when we talked about Michael Wilson,
it's like, oh, Brissett's not going to throw fifty seven
times a game.
Speaker 3 (10:36):
Well, it's still throw forty nine times.
Speaker 1 (10:38):
That's only forty nine.
Speaker 2 (10:40):
Oh well, it did include some overtime. But the biggest
thing here is if you look at I just pulled
out the box score to reference it, Michael Wilson fifteen targets,
Trade McBride, ten targets, Greg Dortch nine. The next closest
was Bam Night or running back. So it's really what
it comes down to until Marvin Harrison comes back. And again,
we are doing this right now on Sunday, and we're not.
I mean, this would probably be your Waivers show. We're
(11:00):
still gonna not going to have news. But if Marvin
Harrison were to come back this week, you throw out
Greg Dortch and you.
Speaker 3 (11:06):
Still keep the Michael Wilson situation.
Speaker 2 (11:08):
But it is epidemics apidectomy appendix surgery.
Speaker 1 (11:13):
I think, I just this is why we typically record
in the morning. But Jake's like, I got it. You know,
I got an early thing in the morning. I got
I got a doctor appointment thing I gotta take care of.
It's like, okay, fine, we'll go at night. Clearly, Jake
Seely not a night owl. I think we just established
that on the show.
Speaker 3 (11:30):
You want the reference, Evan Ingram, No, that's.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
Only between you and no one else will find that funny.
Once upon a time, Jake Seely when he is sleep deprived,
Jake's not sleep.
Speaker 3 (11:40):
I'm on drugs for my neck. That's the thing.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
Oh ah see, there we go. But but the closest
you'll get to Jake Seely a good time. Jake Seely
quote unquote is always over tired, Jake seely, which is
I think we're getting tonight with a combination that maybe
a couple of pills for the neck. It is a
good time. I can't wait for the bonus time with
you today. I gotta be honest, like honest time to be relity.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
I don't even know if it'll be English at that point.
Speaker 1 (12:04):
That was fun having Jacob all this athletic. Hopefully your
contract gets renewed.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
Greg Dorsch, it just if Marvin Harrison's back, you don't
worry about Greg Doors.
Speaker 3 (12:13):
But I mean coming back from that surgery.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
Is he going to be back this week and this
He's only this far down the Put it this way,
if Marvin Harrison wasn't back for the rest of the year,
you could argue Greg Doors should be the top one
because Michael Wilson's already picked up. If Marvin Harrison's back
in two weeks, he's still on this list. It's just
the question of when and if Marvin Harrison comes back.
Speaker 1 (12:32):
Okay, I know you wanted to mention Yoshi vas again,
so talk to me about him and then any other
bonus guys before you completely black out.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
I know I brought up Luther Burden as well. Hey,
I'm going for pet tomorrow to figure out my deck.
By the way, it is a pinch nerve and a
collapse force or five six, That's.
Speaker 3 (12:48):
What I'm dealing with.
Speaker 1 (12:49):
I'm Benson three to twenty, man, I told you got
to slow down, bro twenty.
Speaker 3 (12:52):
I would die.
Speaker 1 (12:54):
Seely just pressing the three twenty up there, man, unbelievable.
The bars bent like this.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
I have some pecks, but does this look like three
twenty pecks?
Speaker 1 (13:04):
No, they do not.
Speaker 3 (13:07):
I think two twenty was my last MAX. I remember
at this point.
Speaker 2 (13:10):
I think that was the last time I tried my Max.
I'm not a MAX person anyway. Luther Burden just honorable
mention because we got to keep bringing him up. Yes,
DJ Moore bounced back. Yes, DJ Moore had a good game,
as everybody, including myself, sabotage dropped him, like you know, ha.
Dj Moore has one touchdown in the year, He hasn't
done anything in weeks, and everybody's like a sabotage drop.
Speaker 3 (13:30):
And what does he do? He goes nuclear.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
I don't expect dj Moore to continue to do this,
especially because Luther Burdon continues to eat into that slot
roll but also the snaps. So still Luthor burdon because
the biggest upside is if anything happened to a Doomsday
or DJ Moore, make sure Luthor Burden similar to handcuff
running backs is rostered right now. But the Bengals play
on Thursday. That's why we have to bring up Yoshivas
and Tinsley. T Higgins left with a concussion. I would say,
(13:55):
I think you assume the same. Joe's highly unlikely he
comes back on it.
Speaker 1 (13:59):
Look, guarantees not miss at least one week. It's always
one week unless it was a very very low grade situation.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
It was there was one person it was like three two,
three years ago it was, and came back for a
Thursday game and we.
Speaker 1 (14:11):
Were like, but what it was like a very low grade.
It was like they just cleared protocol very quickly and
it wasn't very serious. But again, you just don't see it,
and you shouldn't see it to be honest, like they
should make sure that they're stabilizing everybody and going through
the super protocols for these guys' long term help.
Speaker 2 (14:26):
So yeah, Yoshavs, he was only going to be a
one week play but now you get another one week
play out of him. And if you're a super super
deep lea, Mitchell Tinsley was making some plays in that
game where it wouldn't be a shock if this week
with Chase coming back, that Chase's twenty targets from Joe Fleck.
Actually it might be Joe Burrow. But somebody else is
going to spill into this, and it might be Gasicky again,
(14:46):
it might be Yoshivas, but it also might be Tinsley.
If you're in your super deep league and you're like
the people Joe, you know, the ones that watch us
and there all the time, They're like, none of these
guys are available in my league. Mitchell Tinsley's available in
your don't want.
Speaker 1 (14:57):
To definitely available.
Speaker 3 (14:58):
You're not playing way eight league.
Speaker 1 (15:01):
Don't even pretend like he's rostered because it's zero on sleeper.
I already look before the show, all right, remember, if
you need some extra help here, like Jake clearly needs
some extra help, the Waiver Central can help you. I
don't know if we can help Jake seely at all,
but again, go to Fanca Rose dot com, slash my playbook,
or just download the Fantasy Rose app and let Waiver
Central help direct you on the right path to Waiver
(15:21):
Wire Gold. That'll do it for us, but the story
of the game goes on for Jake Ceely, I'm Joey P.
We'll see you next time. Kids.
