Speaker 1 (00:01):
Welcome in everybody to Fantasy pros. This is the Fantasy
Football Podcast. It is me Joey p Joe Pi Zapia,
and it's time to look ahead to the waiver wire
for the playoffs. That's right, you did it, you made it.
You're here in the playoffs. Jake Seey from The Athletic
and I have some names that could be streamers this week,
depending on what's going on with your roster, because just
because you made the playoffs doesn't mean your whole team
(00:22):
is intact in week fifteen. So Jake seely speaking of intact,
certainly a lot of injuries in the last weekend to
deal with that are gonna have massive impacts as well too.
I mean these quarterback injuries, losing Daniel Jones, what that
does to some of the offensive pieces there obviously Jayon
Daniel's getting hurt again, a lot of things with the
thumbs down as you were pointing.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
Out, Yeah, the Daniel Jones one is probably the worst.
Which is crazy to think though preseason would be sitting
here and being like, man, it's gonna really suck if
we lose Daniel Jones right before the fantasy playoffs. And
yet that's what we're saying because it's a big thumbs
down for Honestly, Pittman was the only one that benefited
from that benefit, Like the target share went up, so
Pittman might be ope, hey, but you have to worry
(01:01):
about Alex Pearson. Uh, it sounded like I said, Alex
Alec peers.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
Sound like I can still comments. No, this guy writes
for the Athletic and he doesn't know it's Alec and
not Alex.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
Oh no, no, I was waiting for the YouTube comments
to come for the hat like your your stupid school
bailed out?
Speaker 3 (01:18):
Like, no, good for them. I stand with them. Take away.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
There they did the Irish goodbye? Then, I can't believe
nobody said that. Am I the first person to say that?
Speaker 2 (01:27):
You're the first person that I think I've seen say it,
and I've been reading a lot of the first see
Irish Goodbye?
Speaker 1 (01:33):
See when just they just dipped out.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
We won't have in the waivers.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
But because it sounds like everybody kept saying like he's coming,
he would have come back in the game if the
blowout wasn't in hand, but just in case if Devon
a Chan is out, Jalen Wright looks like he's actually
going to.
Speaker 3 (01:47):
Be the lead. Remember this is the roller coasters Jalen right, like.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
Oh, the Oli Gordon and Jalen Wright's Oh man, I've
been hedging Devon Chan stuff for two years now and
none of it's worked out well.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
So if he's out, it looks like Jalen Wright's to
and Ali Gordon will probably be the goal line option,
which is what we kind of thought it would happen anyway,
And now we're actually too where that would happen. But
it might not matter because ha might be fine anyway.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
All right, Well let's get to some other names here,
not on the Dolphins, here with Jaden Reid who was
activated this past Sunday and finally after doing with that
collarbone injury. So what effect could Reed have going down
the stretch of the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
Yeah, I thought this was an interesting that under fifty
percent on Sleeper, forty one percent on Yahoo, where I
guess not everybody has IRS spots and wasn't able to
stash him all year long, So this is kind of
more for one, if he's out there, but two also
if you had been waiting, if you did stash him,
if you did keep him on your bench and didn't.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
Starting his first game back readers right back out.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
There as the slot option, and he was on the
heels of Romeo Dobbs and snap count and routes. Which
that's the excitement here because Romeo Dobbs has basically been
a non factor for most of the second half of
the season, if not a little bit longer. He had
that one good game, but outside of that, nothing there.
And Christian Watson still looks.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
Great, which is good for that.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
As we told everybody, I say we, I'm including news like,
don't worry about Christian Watson.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
It's finally happening.
Speaker 2 (02:57):
Jayden Reid, and I said this on our show, I
say our show now the Fantasy Pro Show on Thursday
with Fitz, I said, don't worry about Jane Reid coming back.
He's not gonna hurt Christian Watson because what did he do.
He's filling the.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
Tucker Craft void.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
And that's where it comes in, is that slot option,
middle of the field, those opportunities that Craft left and
nobody has been really able to duplicate. Is that's what
Reid will be. So if you had read or if
you need to pick him up, I'd immediately throw him
back into a wide receiver three starting next week.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
All right, next up here number two on our list.
How's to do with the Dallas Cowboys too? So if
ceedee Lamb played on a Thursday, so there is a
little extra time to clear concussion protocol. But typically when
someone's inconcussion protocol, they don't play the next week, so
it's gonna be very dicey. However, the Cowboys need him.
Everybody knows that the fantasy managers need him too. But
if he is out, who benefits besides George Pickens.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
It's gonna be a Ryan Florinoay, as it happened in
that game and has been most of the season, the
next one up. For everybody that wanted all the other
options like Turpin and Tolbert and everything, it's been clear
from them it's been FLORINOI. So if there is no
Cedie Lamb, flor and Oy steps up. They have the
Sunday night game hosting the Viking, so we actually.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
Have extra extra time for Lamb.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
And this is more so specifically for Lamb or Hey,
I need that Hail Mary play because we're gonna have
to make this decision well before we know about Lamb.
Likely if your waivers run. So this is a big
if it might be somebody to throw it right back
to the waivers. But at this point of the season,
we're talking about Week fifteen, the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (04:22):
We're talking playoffs.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
We're talking playoffs right now. At floor and Oi, I
would not start more than a wide receiver four. But
in this passing offense with Dak Prescott, we've seen it already.
Anytime Lamb or Pickens is out, we want the next option.
So I would start Flornoi as a wide receiver four
if Lamb is out.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
All right, let's talk about Dylan Samson for a moment.
We had a big offensive explosion from the Cleveland Browns.
Those are words I haven't uttered in quite some time.
I can tell you that much. Should or Sanders through
for over three hundred yards. So is Dylan Samson somebody
that we could look at potentially as being a beneficiary
if this offense can continue to evolve down the stretch.
Now granted I understand it was against it TI. He
(05:00):
Titans a one win team, but now they're a two
win team. But what do you think about doing Samson?
Is he worth an ad well?
Speaker 3 (05:06):
So, and we'll talk about somebody at number five. This
is twofold.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
So actually it's threefold if you think about it. So one, yes,
it is actually happening. Sanders is making this offense click
a little bit better, not as a big surprise that
he's a better quarterback than Dylan Gabriel. But the second
part of it is he's the next person up. He's
always been the next person up. If anything happens to
quinch On Judkins, as it drove, four would be worked in.
But Samson is the one that we want. So there's
(05:29):
that whole aspect of it. The second part is because
of Sanders increasing the opportunities and throwing to now the
running backs as well. That's actually Dan and Samson stepped
in as the pass catcher. So where it used to
be mostly Jugkins with Gabriel, now we're seeing a little
bit of Samson sprinkled in as the pass catching option.
And he won't be usable every single week, and I'm
not even saying he's a flex start most weeks, but
(05:50):
we are talking about pickups at this time of year.
If something were to happen to Judkins and Juckkins seemly
keeps getting banged up every single week at this point,
But talking about number three is a sneak preview ahead
of They just lost like half their wide receivers, like
Corley left with the concussions, Sat Tillman left with a concussion.
They're down to Bear's basically Jerry Judy, who were gonna
all sudden watch Jerry Judy is gonna be a playoff winner.
(06:10):
We're gonna be so annoying. But they're down to nobody really,
which is going to evolve our number five pick here today,
but also throwing more to Dylan Samson just because they're
hurting so bad at wide receiver, and David a joke
who got hurt too.
Speaker 1 (06:23):
All right, well, do you want to just talk about
the number five now?
Speaker 3 (06:26):
His name enough?
Speaker 1 (06:26):
All right, right, well let's make him the number four
guy instead. Let's talk about Isaiah Bond here. Obviously, you know,
I just kind of set everything up there with the
Cleveland Browns offense starting to show some signs of life
and look like maybe should or Sanders getting comfortable, of course,
not comfortable enough to be left in when you need
a two point conversion. I mean, why would you want
to leave the quarterback in in a situation where he's
the Oe for three hundred yards against the Titans, if
(06:48):
he maybe maybe theoretically, All right, let's talk about Isaiah Bond.
The Speeds. They're out of Texas. Yes, went undrafted because
of some issues, obviously, but then of course Cleveland brown say,
if you've got problems, you come here. We're the Cleveland Browns.
We love all the problem children. But look, there's no
denying the talent that this guy has and the explosiveness.
Can that explosiveness be a fantasy benefit for us in
(07:10):
the playoffs?
Speaker 3 (07:10):
I thought you were going to keep going.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
I thought you're gonna be like, we feel bad for you, son,
and got ninety nine problems and our team is one.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
Well, the Browns have ninety nine problems. That's what I'm saying.
The real appeal here is we saw Isaiah Bond was
kind of.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
Sprinkled in it earlier this year, and we were talking
about I think we actually brought him up on this
show a few weeks ago as hey stash him just
in case it's starting to happen, in case he's starting
to come in for the number two spot alongside Judy
or even with Tillman.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
Or whatever it might be.
Speaker 2 (07:36):
But now the opportunity is there because there's not really
many options left, as I just said, and Isaiah Bond's
had the talent. There was a lot, including myself, and
I know I think it was either Bogman or deebro
I forget one of the two I know agreed with
me and said that he was the better Texas wide
receiver than Matthew Golden. But all that being said, the
talent is there, and now the opportunity is and if
you look at it, they're facing Chicago on the road
(07:57):
this week. Chicago's extremely vulnerable. Look at what Aid and
Read and the rest just did.
Speaker 3 (08:01):
And then they get.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
Buffalo, which isn't the best. But at home if you
get maybe a shootout, but then also Pittsburgh to finish
things off. And all I'm presenting that to say is
that there's a chance Isaia Bond, like many of these,
could end up being a wide receiver for if he
grabs that number two roll and doesn't let go when
Tilman and the rest come back.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
All right, he was the number four, now he's number five.
Speaker 3 (08:21):
Jack Besh the last guy we're going to talk about here,
jigs List.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
That's all right, Jack, No, no lesser, no, lesser. You know,
the Raiders obviously have clear problems and Geno Smith's health
is also now in question. So talk to me about
Jack Besh here, what you think makes him worthy of
a pickup this week?
Speaker 2 (08:36):
Oh and he's number five, actually probably should have been
number five because the schedule is not enticing the rest.
So at Philly at Houston, you've seen what the Houston
defense is doing to everybody. But then they get the
Giants in the championship game, so yay, that's cool. Besh
actually came out and led the wide receivers in yardage,
and as promised by the team, he's going to get
more opportunities. I don't know why it took this long
(08:58):
finally to have Besh get upper or tunities in general.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
Especially before early in the season Thornton was in front
of him. But Besch has finally happened.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
And what the appeal of his Besch is kind of
even some like Jacoby Myers ish to him, but like, hey,
he's gone, and now you have the younger, fresher and
honestly a little bit better downfield at this point. Possibly
you could argue at this point of his career just
because of explosiveness I would still take Jacoby Myers, but
filling that void. We saw Besh do it yesterday. And
look when Brock Bowers is going to get that kind
of attention that.
Speaker 3 (09:26):
He gets Besh. Again, we are only talking wide receiver fours.
Speaker 2 (09:30):
I don't get anybody too excited outside of Jayden Reid,
but at Philly at Houston doesn't look super enticing.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
But you're telling me that you wouldn't.
Speaker 2 (09:37):
Think about it against Houston. If Besh went out and
put up eighty in a touchdown against Philly next week,
I think he'd at least be in the conversation to say,
you know what, maybe he can overcome the Houston Texans
matchup again fearsome, but hey, the Giants in week seventeen.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
That's the best part about it.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
Well, look at this point the season two, it's also
about picking up players so other teams can't have them.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
So that is a really good point.
Speaker 1 (09:57):
Well where it's not just about guys that can help
your ross, but looking at some of the injuries on
the rosters of teams you're gonna be playing in the playoffs,
could this player help them? If so, I've got fab
to spend and I've got bench spots that are open,
why not play a little blockage. There any other bonus
guys that are coming around your waiver wire this week?
Speaker 2 (10:15):
Oh so speaking of that, I mean there's two right there.
If you have somebody where the waivers are picked pretty
thin at quarterback and play block with quarterback. I was
an elite you know this, Joe was in elate years
and years and years ago where I didn't do the
smart thing and I was like, hey, you know what,
I forget who the quarterback was. I was like, I
have a top two option. I don't need to worry
about it. And then the top two option got hurt,
and you know who was left on waivers for me
to pick from two quarterbacks, one of them being Johnny
(10:38):
Manzel and I did not win that playoff game because
I had to go with Johnny. Yeah, shocking, but that's
why I say, Marcus Mariota with the Jayden Daniels injury,
that was egregious. I can't say anything, like all the
words that I want to say, as you can see,
are clogging up in my head because the commanders are
malpracticing what they did yesterday and the fact that you
should not have brought him back if he wasn't one
(10:59):
hundred percent, A lot of us in the industry went
off the assumption that they're not bringing him back unless
he was on the elbow was ninety and he was
close to one hundred percent. What happened yesterday, that's like
I said, that's egregious. So Marcus Mariota, go grab him.
He has top fifteen upside. He has the Russian ability.
You want to play, like you just said, block in
case somebody loses their quarterback or heck maybe you lose yours.
(11:19):
And then with the Ravens backfield, not only had they
lost Justice Hill already, they just lost Keithon Mitchell yesterday
and it could be we don't know, but it could
be the rest of the season. Rasheena Lee had been
sprinkling in with Mitchell behind him. And now if anything
were to happen to Derek Henry hopefully not, it is
December and winter is here for him. If anything were
to happen, Rashea Lee would be the one to step up.
(11:40):
Is probably somebody that'd be a low NRB two.
Speaker 3 (11:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
Alle had a couple moments in that game too where
he looks spry some good explosiveness there So those are
the names that Jake Seely is looking at this week,
