Speaker 1 (00:01):
Welcome in everybody to Fantasy pros. This is the Fantasy
Football Podcast. It is me joeyp Joe Pie's of PA.
Round two of the playoffs is here, and Jake Seely
is also from the Athletic fresh off John Cena's final match.
So a lot of people can't see John Cena, but
Jake Seely was able to Jake before we get into
it here. I mean a pretty special moment to be
(00:21):
in that arena. Yeah, I'm a big wrestling guy. I
have a wrestling podcast myself that I've been hosting the
last six seven years, and you know, certainly a moment
in time there, So have you calmed your emotions ever
since that, I've been able to take it all in
and say your last goodbye to John Cena.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
I said my last. That was actually my first and last.
I had never seen him in person. I've always missed
him in person. I've been to a Royal Rumble and
it wasn't at the Royal Rumble. It just happened to
be that way. And then I was going into it
like you're kind of on the same page. I am
a little more so than I am, but it's just
kind of like, hey, I kind of like John Cena,
like not indifferent, like a little bit skewed more to
a positive, but like a six out of ten, like yeah,
(01:01):
you know, okay cool. And then I got home and
I'm like like my and bad is gonna sound way
but like I got home in life, but it's just
like starting to ruminate, just started to ruminating, and I'm like,
you know what, this actually does kind of suck. I
am a little bit sad because you're never gonna see
seene a scene it Like I'm probably never gonna see
a scene of type ever again. It's just kind of so.
And this was Nicole. Nicole had to get the sweatshirt.
Speaker 3 (01:23):
It's a nice look at sweatshirt.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
I'm not going to off. The back of it has
all the jerseys that like that's like can you kind
of see.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
Look yeah we can. Oh that's actually hope. That yo,
that's that's pretty cool.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
We got every large us could wear it, plus has
the date on it.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
So this is what happens. We get married, you share clothes,
you share everything. This is it.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Well at least she's not stealing it, like we agree
to it ahead time.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
Ah, that's good.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
Joint custody very good later that comes later in the marriage.
We'll see what happens. Make sure you put it in
whoever in the four settlements and who gets the sweatshirt.
All right, let's talk about injuries. That's gonna have a
lot to do with the players. We're gonna say on
Waiver Wie this week everything. I mean, we had the
Mahomes injury, we had Michael Parsons injury.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
I had so many injuries.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
It's six injuries. We're talking about legit for everybody, and
all these are contingent, right, So yeah, let's first start
with the Mahomes injury.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
Okay, because from a fancy perspective, you are losing one
of the qb ones, right, He's say what you will
about Mahomes statistically this year, still been in that conversation.
So who are some of the guys that we could
stream in mahomes place you feel good about that might
still be floating around waiver wires.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
So we'll go higher up where people are like, ah,
he's not, but he was dropped in a lot of
leagues now in the fifty percent range even on sleeper
and hey, by the way, the first quarterback this year
including not Mahomes to throw three touchdowns against the Texans.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
Jacoby Brissett bro I started him in a super flex
in Flex League yesterday, and I was like, I have
no choice. I have to start him. I'm starting him
no matter what. He's always a QB one and my
boy still got the job.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
Done for me.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
Well, and that's the thing you said it though, is
like I had to do it no matter what, Like
I had to do it. So a lot of people
dropped them, and that's why he's down to fifty. He
gets Atlanta at home this week, which is not the
best matchup, but waves softer than the Texans. Yeah, much better.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
Well, so that's all Mike Givens, get a lot of
RS and God and everybody else. I mean, like, you know,
I don't think of a land of secondary is what
it was in the first six.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
Weeks of the season, that's for sure.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
Now that's the always the testament to what we can
talk about for next seasons. Don't try to predict defenses
in weeks fourteen through seventeen at the beginning the year.
But on the flip side, it just happened last night,
and I know it's to Dallas defense. But we just
said last week that JJ McCarthy had the best game
of his career and then against Dallas looked pretty good again.
I mean definitely kept missing justin Jefferson. You want to
argue which way that one should have went, talk about
(03:31):
you can't see him, Oh my god, is a really
good one.
Speaker 3 (03:34):
But here, guess what, JJ rt there he.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
Just face Dallas, gets what they get to do this week.
You get to face the giant secondary. So if you're
deeper JJ McCarthy's, you're filling because I'm not trying to
get I lost Mahomes. The point here is that I'm
not trying to get c J. Stratagus the Rangers. I'm
not trying to get QB eighteen. I'm trying to get
somebody who could finish top ten if everything breaks right.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
All right, let's talk next about the first guy on
our list of running back, Bam Knight potentially being out
this week. So Michael Carter obviously become somebody that everybody
should be looking at if he's still available.
Speaker 2 (04:02):
Yeah, especially because and he's highly available. Gonna be like
the lead option day Marcato returned, but he'll be the
pass catching option and Arizona Cardinals against the Falcons at home.
We just talked to Robert Sett kind of expect him
to be in mostly control or at least competitive throughout
that game, where they will lean more to Carter if
they were pass catching a lot, probably more of a
fifty fifty split because Carter would still be involved. Yeah,
(04:23):
hopefully you're not this desperate. This is pretty much gonna
be the majority of today's list, Joe. As you know,
hopefully you're not in the playoff semi finals in like
this desperate. But we just lost like half the league
in week fifteen, so you might be Michael Carter probably
an RB three, but startable against the Falcons, all.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
Right, so startable against the Falcons. DeVante Adams came out
with a hamstring injury. We're still waiting for the evaluation
of it, but I have to imagine he's at least
missing next week, Like I think that is a bare minimum.
If not the rest of the regular season. Maybe you
get him for the playoffs. Again, this is just my speculation,
but I'd be shocked if you have DeVante Adams next week.
So Pukatakua came out of that game, but it was
just cramps, So hopefully that's okay, and that's such wastes,
(05:03):
all right, But who steps up into that voiding that
Rams wide receiver corp in your opinion, with Adams potentially out,
Nowdams a huge loss, a guy leading the league and
receiving touchdowns, right, I mean that is huge to replace
in your lineup.
Speaker 3 (05:15):
It is.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
And they have a Thursday night, so I'm with you.
There's no way that he Adams is playing Thursday a football.
So you say, all right, is it be Canonum upfield
who start to step up and start to show some
flashes tow two Outwell's back and Jordan Wainton And we've
played that game before. How about the person that headed
into that game as tight end five over the last
four games and now he's tight end three or over
(05:36):
the past five games because he's been better than brock Bauers.
Now after this past week, and Kolbe Parkinson, Parkinson is
your answer ahead him as a fringe tight end one
this week. Wanted to put him higher because I mentioned
that that he was top five. He's honestly inside the
top ten. Conversation Parkinson ever since we had the injury again,
now I'm spacing on his name and I'm looking at
the tight end. I can picture his name, the tight
(05:58):
end that they've had forever that keeps getting hurt, that
is now out for the season. Why can't I picture
the Higby? Thank you, thank you.
Speaker 3 (06:05):
I didn't even think it was that simple. I'm thinking, like,
what is this deep mat like I.
Speaker 2 (06:08):
Could picture It's one of those things when somebody.
Speaker 3 (06:10):
Else is Yeah, it's week sixteen.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
Bro.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
I was about to say that Colby Parkinson's up in
the realm of only behind Trey McBride and George Kittle
is where he's been in production, just behind those two.
So Trey McBride came into my mind, and then because
Tyler Higbee Trey McBride, and then I couldn't get to
Tyler Higby as I about to said, But anyway, Groby
Parkerson like guys who catch footballs for one thousand. Anyway, Yes,
(06:32):
as you could put Parkinson in your flex at this
point if you need it, if you are that needy.
I mean, there's a lot of teams Joe that had
Trey McBride and another title had Kyle Pitts and both
playing in their lives this week.
Speaker 3 (06:44):
Yeah, well that Kyle pits things things for a lot
of teams. I'm sure. Al right, let's talk about r J. Harvey.
He had a rib issue.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
So is Julia McLoughlin somebody that we can milk to
pick up this week?
Speaker 3 (06:54):
Is he necessary? What are your thoughts on the Laughlin?
Speaker 2 (06:56):
He's necessary if nothing else, also to play block and
that's the only if R. J. Harvey is out, Like
this is the thing, like people are like, I don't
need him. He'll be my fourth, fifth, sixth, running whatever.
You don't want to see Julian McLachlin surprise and goal
for twenty points on your opponent's roster. And I know
at this point of the season we are rostering all
the backups. If you have you know, the Tyler Algier,
if you have Bejon Rominson, Brian Robinson, as we just saw,
(07:19):
we thought that we might not have Christian McCaffrey, like
all those need to be roster. But at the same time,
if you're rostering way down the depth chart and that
you're talking about other backups, like even for like Seattle
with I would drop sharbon Ay to block somebody getting
McLaughlin because we know McLachlin might be an RB two,
whereas Charboney is we have the healthy situation with Walker
this week. You see my point is like block if
(07:41):
you can before it's like even if you don't need McLaughlin.
Speaker 1 (07:45):
All right, So Christian Watson, always a guy that struggles,
was a little more career this one. Look, this one
is you know when you went to the hospital with
the chest injury, so obviously you know our concerns are
with his health or his football life at what's going
on there, that's always more important. But as Matthew Golden,
who had a couple of moments in that game, maybe
somebody that could.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
Pop off in week sixteen and be streamable.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
I think could is the best way to say it,
because when it happened in that game, Wix and Golden,
as I'm sure you saw, were kind of rotating the
opportunities Wes Watson left. But it's the opportunity to replace Watson.
You're not replacing Dobbs, You're not replacing Reed, You're replacing Watson.
What are you replacing the downfield ability? Wis can do it.
But I like the fact that when Golden came in
that Love was actually taking shots to Golden more so
(08:30):
than Wix. You had that one that went to Wis,
but more so it was like he was actually kind
of looking for Golden and it might not happen. It
might not work out in Chicago. Of course, if it
ends up being fifteen degrees and forty mile an hour wins,
you're not going to play pretty much anybody for the
downfield game. But if the weather's decent enough and you're
looking for that wide receiver four that could hit like
a Kashawn Booty type, Golden's now in that conversation, we
(08:50):
wanted to happen this entire year, But at least in
that pivot of that game, they both tried to fill
the role. It looked like it was finally starting to click.
I know, the one play he didn't catch, but Love
was looking to him to have that fill in for
Christian Watson.
Speaker 1 (09:02):
All right, last situation, we're gonna talking about the Washington
Commander's backfield. Chris Rodriguez was out, so JCM had a
touchdown on that game. Is McNichols somebody were looking at
how do you look at this Washington Commander's backfield going
forward for Week sixteen?
Speaker 2 (09:16):
Yeah, it sounds like Chris Rodriguez is maybe fifty to
fifty to play this week, which throws it out into
a full blown committee. But here's where I'm gona go
with Joe, and I'm kind of curious if you agree.
They're home Saturday. By the way, we have two Saturday games.
Speaker 3 (09:27):
That's right, Saturday football's here.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
Home against the Eagles, which is not a good matchup.
And also the Eagles should be able to score. So
if I'm picking one, I know Krosskey Merritt had the game,
but it was against the Giants. They were in the lead,
they controlled that game. Well, if you're going against the Eagles,
what do we expect. I would actually lean to McNichols
on this one because they started with them thought process. Granted,
McNichols did not do well between the tackles to start
(09:50):
the game. He's jerrem m McNichols, but they started with them,
and then Krosskey Merritt looked good between the tackles. But
now you're facing the Eagles, Well, you're gonna want McNichols
in the passing game, so I'm gonna give him the site.
I know obviously want to start either one, but if
you're desperate enough and a half in full point PPR,
I would actually lean to McNichols over Crosskey Mary at
least for one game.
Speaker 3 (10:08):
All right, So there you have it, everybody. That's what
the waiver wire looks like.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
And if you need more help on the waiver wire
for Round two of the playoffs in Week sixteen, head
over to waivers Central.
Speaker 3 (10:16):
That's the place to be.
Speaker 1 (10:17):

(10:38):
to have you, my friend. That'll do it for us.
But the story of the game goes on for Jake.
I'm Joey P. We'll see you next time. Kids, hustle, loyalty, respect.
