Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome in everybody to Fantasy Pros. This is the Fantasy
Football Podcast. It is me Joey p Joe Pisapia, and
today we're back mock drafting. That's right, a PPR mock draft.
We've got twelve teams here and to help us get
ready for the season. Deep Bro Derek Brown, the King
of Rose, Andrew Erickson, the Undertaker himself, and the leader
of the Flock. That's right, Flock Fantasy's own YouTube legend,
(00:24):
Mason Dodd is joining us to hear one of our
favorite folks. Mason, I see your background. I pined for
the days of the fern behind you. I know it
has since passed on. What happened to the greenery in
the background for you? I miss the days where you
look like you were kind of in the rainforest, because
if there's one guy that loves a rainforest, it's Andrew Erickson.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
Yeah, I heard y'all before the show, you are saying,
y'all went to Rainforest Cafe, of all places.
Speaker 3 (00:49):
We'll story with that.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
The story with that is Andrew Erickson's childhood. At least
some great moments took place at the Rainforest Cafe and
happened to be one still functioning in New Jersey close
to the train station. I picked up Andrew if you
want to see all of the videos and you know,
pictures from that experience. Andrew was like he was like
(01:12):
a kid in a candy store. He was unbelievable. He
was so excited. Andrew, I gotta say, you know now
that we're here, finally, after the dust has settled from
a very fun weekend of drafting and rainforesting, did you
get everything you wanted out of your rainforest Cafe experience?
Including you at least got some of the takeaway glasses.
We did get glasses and drinks that you could take
home with you. So now you can remember that experience
(01:34):
forever exactly.
Speaker 4 (01:36):
Every time I need a glass of water, I'm like, oh,
I'm dreading my fancy rainforest Cafe glass, so ill forever
remember Uncle Joey taking me to the Rainforest Cafe. And
reflecting on it, was it was probably best that we
did have your two daughters there with us, or else
that would have been kind of weird if it was
just me hanging out rainforest cafe. My wife was reflecting
on that after the factors, like you know what, you're
(01:56):
right that was a really smart for us to bring
his daughters, because it's not only kids that would have
been weird.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
Yes, bring kids with you so you give the illusion
at least that like you're not just here for the adults. Necessarily,
Derek Brown wasn't there at all, very depressing. Airlines just
screwed him. Planes were delayed and canceled. It was a
grumpy man, but you were there in spirit. Also follow
me at joepis of PS seventeen for the full children's
(02:20):
story of Derek Brown's big day out in New York City.
You don't want to miss that debro. What was it
like to live vicariously at the draft through a stuffed animal?
Speaker 5 (02:28):
Some of the best pictures and photo work I've ever
been a part of. I'd like to say you did
capture my best sides as well as a glittery crotch,
So truly appreciate that. As far as the zoom ends,
blow the belt to Joe, thank you.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
Well, you know it is what it is. But today
we've got an incredible mock draft going on with our
friends on our discord again. Join it fantasypros dot Com
slash chat. It is free to join, and of course,
if you wan one of our premium subscribers, you get
to do a whole lot more over there, and that's
part of the gig is we do all these mocked
on Mondays. We have free mock draft Monday going on
(03:02):
where there's a ton of mock drafts. We're all involved
in there as well. Today we have a great group
joining us here. We got t mac of course, Mason
Dodds at the two spot. Agent Shep is at three,
I'm at four, Young City is at five, yah Ya
is at six, and then Andrew Erickson went right in
front of Derek Brown. That's gonna be a good time.
We've got Durors Fly in Hawaiian Rice is in the
(03:26):
draft and at the turn Trusted Venom who's been with
us for a few drafts. So great group of folks here,
Mason Dodd I know we are right in the thick
of things. I'm going to begin the draft here. You
chose the two spot, you had the whole board basically
to yourself, What was it about the two spot that
you love so much? Are you somebody that's like, hey,
CMC or lamb or is there some other approach that
you like to take?
Speaker 3 (03:46):
There?
Speaker 2 (03:46):
At the two I'm keeping it simple at CMC or LAMB,
And to be honest with you, I just didn't want
to be next to y'all in the draft. You also
and I was luck with Okay, do I want the
end or the beginning? And I've probably had a thousand
questions so far. I'm sure y'all have of like where
the places to pick this year? And in my mind
it's anywhere but nine, ten, eleven, twelve, the end of
the draft. I hate in the earlier you are, I
(04:09):
think just the more premium player you're going to get,
which obviously makes sense, but Mason.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
Also the earlier you are the sort of premium guys
that are left at that two three turn. That's how
I'm looking at is the draft is kicking off here
in just a few seconds. I know Mason's going to
make his pick. Obviously we kind of know where he's
going because CMC went first, so I guess it's going
to be LAMB. So let's talk about LAMB, but also
talk about what it's like when you come back to
that term, because typically you do have some of those
high end wide receiver two slash wide receiver ones on
(04:35):
the lower spectrum still available, but you also have some
really good talented running back as well.
Speaker 6 (04:39):
Yeah, I mean the two three turn.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
In my mind, I honestly think that the player quality
you're going to get there is kind of comparable to
what's in the beginning of the second in the middle
of the second round, at least right now, with what
I've seen in my own drafts. So I mean, we'll
see how the draft plays out. Like you said, I
already took Lamb at too. I think he has a
really nice combo of just the highest floor in fantasy
and a really high ceiling this year. So I we'll
see what happens at the two three turn, but I
(05:01):
feel comfortable with it all right.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
So after Lamb Tyreek Kill goes at three, I took
amonra at four. It's full point PPR again. We got
the two rbs, the three wide outs, the flex, the defense,
one quarterback. Today for more quarterback conversations too, we'll do
some more super flex drafts. Don't worry, We've got a
lot of those in the pipeline. Again, if you want
to go ahead and get ready for your draft, so
this is the best way to do it is to
use the draft Wizard product. In fact, all weekend Andrew
(05:26):
and I were preparing for the Flex Draft this weekend,
the Big Expert League Draft, and I was using the
Draft Intel and it helped a ton because it literally
crafted the robots that we're doing, the tendencies of guys
like Jeff Racliffe, guys like Adam Ronis, the people that
are in that draft with us, Andrew Erickson. Robots are
amazing and it really let me know kind of what
(05:46):
players are going to be available in those first few
rounds and how to approach things. And sure enough, we
went in there and I think we came out very successful.
So if we're using these tools, you should be using
them too, because it will help elevate your game. And
it's a great way to not just kind of use
a mock draft simulator where it's just ADP really get
a feel for what it's going to be like in
your drafts with those real life people. I'm on Rossain
(06:09):
Brown at four. I was contemplating between him and Chase.
Chase goes next at number five, then Bjeon at one
oh six. Andrew Erickson. You got your guy at one
oh seven, Breese Hall. Let's talk about it.
Speaker 4 (06:22):
Yeah, I agree with Mason's point where he's talking about
how you don't want to pick at the end, and
I feel the same way because I want to come
out of my draft with either Jamar Chase Bijeon or
Breese Hall when i'm picking, not at the very very top.
So for me, Breese Hall's my RB one this year.
I think that he's set up to smash in this
New York Jets offense. Look last year, the only running
back let's scored more points in PPR was christ McCaffrey.
(06:42):
And everything about the Jets situation is so much better
than it was last year with Rogers back, the offensive
line is healthy. I think Brees Hall's in for a
career year, So I love getting him as the third
running back off the board and as my first overall pick.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
De bro, you're coming up for another pick here? Want
to wait? You selected justin Jefferson. We'll talk about your
next pick in just a moment. But it feels like
those first ten picks, uh, the way they've gone here
in this draft, be goaes aj Brown goes next, and
then Jamieer gives it ten. To me, those are the
top ten. Those are the guys that I want to
start a fantasy team with Marvin. Harrison's the other one
who's right on that fringe, Debro. You went back to
back wide receivers in the first round, Justin Jefferson and
(07:16):
the second Drake Lonnon. Let's talk about that and then
we'll recap the rest of the picks.
Speaker 5 (07:20):
I mean, I love, I love when you're at the
back half of the first round. Just double tap and
wide receiver here? And can we also shout out to
the beautiful day of team and everybody over at so
good the Draft Wizard layout is just it's gotten a
spit shine.
Speaker 3 (07:32):
It looks amazing people.
Speaker 5 (07:35):
So both these selections so easy for me at this
point of the draft. I love Justin Jefferson because if
we weren't so concerned about the quarterback situation, can we
also craft an easy narrative he should not be going
this late in any draft?
Speaker 1 (07:47):
Guys? Oh, well, what the the Derek, I'm sorry which
player you're talking about? You're talking about?
Speaker 5 (07:55):
Yeah, if we weren't so worried about his quarterback situation
with Darnald and McCarthy, like, I think he's seen Jefferson
witness though, doesn't it?
Speaker 1 (08:02):
Derek I mean, it is Sam Darnald, it is you
know what that transition looks like for j J. It's uncertain.
If anything. I think that's fair, don't you.
Speaker 5 (08:10):
I don't in the sense of when you look at
the splits with Jefferson with and without Cousins, he was
pacing for almost two thousand receiving.
Speaker 3 (08:17):
Yards on both sides of the coin.
Speaker 5 (08:19):
And so for me, I think we are way overblowing
the quarterback concerns considering we already saw a KOC Really,
I mean, look, come on, do we think Darnald can
be worse than Dobbs and Mullins? And Jefferson was still
crushing as the wide receiver four and like I said,
on pace for over two thousand receiving yards regardless of
however you split up last season. So I'm not worried
(08:40):
about Jefferson. I moved him up in my rings.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
Okay, So Jefferson's up in the ranks for Derek Brown,
which you can find at Fantasy bros dot Com slash rankings.
AJ Brown goes next, then Jamier gives Garrett Wilson and
Puka Nakua close out round one. Starting round two, Marvin
Harrison my dude at two to one, that Sakuon Barkley,
Jonathan Taylor, Chris o'lave, Debro took break London. Obviously we
know Deebro's love of London. And then the man who
(09:04):
is driving the Wattle train even harder than I am
it is Andrew Erickson. So Wattle at two o six,
this is exactly where I feel like you want to be.
I guess here's the question, Andrew. I love Wattle is
a great number two, but you think already you're okay
with him being your number one wide receiver.
Speaker 4 (09:23):
I mean that's where we were drafting him last year.
He was going to writing this range last year, and
then he got hurt and didn' score a bunch of touchdowns.
So I'm just writing off last year as a fluke.
He's super talented. He was a wide receiver one his
first two years in the NFL, and he did it
in two completely different ways. One was on volume, one
was on efficiency. Is this backfield going to score thirty
touchdowns again?
Speaker 3 (09:41):
No?
Speaker 4 (09:41):
Is Jalen Watle gonna score four touchdowns again?
Speaker 2 (09:44):
No?
Speaker 4 (09:44):
So I think he's gonna score double edit of touchdowns,
go over one thousand yards again, and we see these
best offenses they can support two wide receiver ones. Why
can't it be Miami? With how concentrated the target share
always seems to be between Tyreek Hill and a Jalen Waddle.
If he'll takes any step back whatsoever, that's gonna benefit Wattle.
So I think that he has Again I've said this before,
perfect balance of a ceiling play and a floor play
(10:05):
with Jayalen Loatto in round.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
Two, incredible wide receiver run here from picks two oh
four to two oh nine, Olave London, Waddle, Pittman, Davonte Adams.
Then I continued on with Nico Collins agent ended up
taking Karen Williams. Then mister fantasy Flock himself took Josh Allen,
Travis Aten at the turn than Patrick Mahomes. So two
qbs off the board, Devon ah Chan, who was I
(10:28):
was going to pick and stole them out from under ray?
So Josh Allen, Devon ah Chan. Let's talk about those
two picks here, Mason, why did you go quarterback? And
then talk about the upside of von A Chan and
maybe the risk involved as well.
Speaker 6 (10:40):
Two things.
Speaker 2 (10:40):
One, if you look at the quarterback position for the
past few years and compare someon what you had five
six years ago. No quarterback really throughout NFL histories had
the fantasy upside that you were seeing from Josh Allen
four straight years with over three hundred and ninety points.
E can score four nine points any given season, and
if you have a mid quarterback one, they just simply
can't compare with that. If you're looking at the points
per game drop off, agent I think has a high
(11:01):
ceiling based off how good this Miami Dolphins offense projects
to be, with the fact that he was pretty much
the most efficient running back in NFL history last year. Now,
the concern is if you will get the size, you
don't know how many touches per game he can really handle,
and we know efficiency.
Speaker 6 (11:15):
Is highly volatile from year to year perspective.
Speaker 2 (11:18):
So when you take h in you're hoping that the
touches per game are able to go up despite his size,
even if the.
Speaker 6 (11:24):
Efficiency were to go down.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
Taking him in the middle of the second round I'm
not a big fan of, but getting him in the
third I'm completely fine with.
Speaker 1 (11:31):
Yeah. Oh look, if you didn't take him, he was
probably going to me. Laporta goes in between our two picks,
and then I selected Dereck Henry. I don't care if
it's BBR. All I care about are touchdowns and yards
and getting the volume in King Henry is my hero.
In fact, I took him this weekend in the third
round of that super Flex draft in Flex League, and
I'm very happy he made it to me. That was
(11:52):
a half VPR, but still I don't care if it's half,
I don't care if it's full. Dereck Henry is still
a hero in my book at the RV position, especially
now that he is a raven. Y goes next. Lots
of rumors swirling. We'll see if anything comes to fruition
in terms of him getting moved. Cooper Cup goes at
three oh six, three oh seven. Rashad White one of
my guys, my RB two from this weekend's draft ericson
(12:15):
are you warming up to the Rashad White? I feel
like he is one of the most underappreciated assets at
the running back position. If you're going wide receiver early,
Rashad White is a really nice consolation prize. Now he
is your second running back all running in this PPR.
Let's talk about that strategy.
Speaker 4 (12:31):
Yeah, I'm changing up a little bit. You say, go
with the hero RB approach. So usually I don't look
at running backs after I draft someone like a Brease Hall,
but I just kind of want to change it up
here and see again. I like Rashad White as a
running back in a vacuum. I think that he's going
to see a ton of volume in this offense. I
think that he can actually take a step forward. You know.
The big knock on Rashad White as well. His yards
per carry is not very good, but what do we
see a year over year? That yards per carry is
(12:52):
one of the worst numbers that you can cite as
projecting future rushing production for a running back. Liam Cohen,
I'm excited about him what he can do In Tampa
Bay Buccaneers have upgraded their offensive line. What if Shot
White is better as a rusher because he has nowhere
really to go but up. I get they drafted Bucky Irving,
but he's so involved in the passing game. I still
think that he's the clear red zone back. So even
if this Buccaneers offense is just average, I think we're
(13:14):
shod White can go well over a thousand rushing yards
while adding in fifty or sixty catches, So I think
we're shod White again as a running back can get
in the middle round. I think he's a really good value.
Speaker 1 (13:22):
Okay, after you select White, Isaiah Pacheco goes to Debro.
Then we have DJ Moore, Mike Evans, Travis Kelcey, Malik
Neighbors at the turn, Jalen Hurts off the board at
four oh one, then DK Metcalf, Deebo, Samuel Joe Mixon,
and then of course Trey McBride on schedule to Derek Brown. So, Deebro,
you took pacheck O, somebody that I know a lot
(13:43):
of us feel is a really solid RB one this
year in terms of return on investment, in terms on
the offense he plays in. And then Trey McBride, a
guy at tight end who could challenge for that number
one overall spot. So let's break down these two picks.
Speaker 5 (13:56):
Well, first of all, you wiped out the top of
Mike Q, you and mister fan fantasy flock over here.
I had a Chan and Henry at the top of
my queue, so it was sad to see them go,
but I.
Speaker 3 (14:05):
Figured it was going to happen. But CHECKO, I look
at him.
Speaker 5 (14:07):
He's still in that hero RB conversation. I mean we
talked about this on previous shows. Three of the four
games the final season, towards the end of the year,
whenever McKinnon was out, he played over seventy percent of
the snaps. He averaged twenty five point five fantasy points
per game. And I'm not saying he's gonna do that
over the entirety of this season, but we're sleeping on
Pacheco's upside. So I was happy to get him there
(14:29):
kind of modified hero RB strategy and then yeah, trade McBride.
Speaker 3 (14:33):
He's my tight end one overall.
Speaker 5 (14:34):
I mean he was producing at top three levels when
he was the starter weeks eight through eighteen. I mean
pick a metric, any metric, if you look at it
from a season on perspective, in that stretch, he would
have led the entire like you could have continue that
the entire season. He would have been the tight end
one and fantasy points per game of fifteen flat. So
getting him where I'm getting him in drafts, Yes, I'm
(14:55):
gonna keep pressing the button every single time for McBride.
Speaker 1 (14:58):
Every single time. After mc ride goes another tight end,
Andrew ericson selected Mark Andrews. So why did you jump
in on this tight end? Run here? Andrew?
Speaker 4 (15:07):
Well, I like to get an elite tight end when
I'm doing these types of bills. So Mark Andrews, for me,
that's who I think is gonna be tight end one
this year. So again I try. I'm always trying to
gauge when to take Mark Andrews based on well Laport
always goes in front of him, you see in this draft,
obviously McBride went in front of him. You saw Travis Kelcey.
So when I see those guys start to go off
the board, I'm like, Okay, the board is now looking
(15:28):
at tight ends. Can I snag Andrews here? Do I
want to wait till round five? Now, we'll find out
and see if that was ultimately the right decision or
not if we see another tight end go before my
next pick. But I think that Andrews has tight End
one overall upside, and I don't want to miss out
on it.
Speaker 1 (15:40):
Certainly makes sense to me. After those two tight ends
go off the board, Stefan digs a four oh seven
Lamar Jackson right before me. Young City sniped me there,
But that's Okay, I pivoted to George Pickens, who I
love what's going on there at Stealer Camp. I got
a feeling Justin Fields is going to be the quarterback,
and I think it's going to be very different. Look
whether the Pittsburgh Steelers than Russell Wilson and would have been.
(16:00):
Agent selects DeVonta Smith at four to ten. Then for
eleven we have Josh Jacobs going to Mason, followed by
two wide receivers at the turn of four twelve, Amari
Cooper at five to one, Zay Flowers. Then back to
you Mace four Kincad, so Josh Jacobs at four to eleven.
Any concerns with this running back in this new system?
There with some challengers, and let's talk about the upside
(16:23):
of Kincad what he might be this year in this
Buffalo Bills offense.
Speaker 6 (16:27):
A couple things.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
One, Jacobs gets paid amount that scream starting running back
for twenty twenty four. Two, this will be the best
offense Josh Jacobs has ever been a part of.
Speaker 6 (16:37):
Three. He's much younger than you'd expect.
Speaker 2 (16:39):
Drafted in twenty nineteen but was only twenty years old
coming out of Alabama and four Marshall Lloyd was injured
during trading camp, so it sounds like Marshall Lloyd's behind schedule,
and we know aj Dillon is not a great pass catcher,
so I think Jacobs actually gets third down work this year.
So Jacobs, in my mind, is a clear tier ahead
of the rest of the running backs that are available,
So I'm going to take him before that running back
tier drives up. Now, of course we're gonna have to
(17:00):
slam wide receivers the no rounds coming up, and then
with Kincaid, I personally view him in the same tier
as McBride. It's the same tier of Mark Andrews. Both
of them go in the middle of round four. We
have Josh Allen already, so I'm already making the bet
that this is a great Bells offense yet again, so
I might as well double down on that bet because
I'm never trying to get six place in fantasy football.
Speaker 6 (17:20):
I'm either trying to get first or last.
Speaker 2 (17:22):
So we're gonna double down on our bills bet, taking
kikid here, who presumably can be the wide receiver one
for Josh Allen, and you're getting those points out tight end.
Speaker 1 (17:30):
The question is what receivers will remain for you because
I don't know if myself or yah y'all in this draft,
we're gonna let anybody else draft any Because I'm at
four wide receivers. Yah, y'all's at four. I've got a'man
Ron Nico, George Pickens, and T Higgins. I'm feeling pretty
good about this wide receiver room. After I selected T
Higgins value, I think for sure, Alvin Kamara goes next
(17:52):
to Young City, in between Kincaid and T Higgins. By
the way, two James Cook at five O three, So
five O three Cook five oh four, Higgins five. I
go five Alvin Kamara. Yeah, Yah, took my other guy,
Terry McLaurin. I just took Higgins over McLaurin just based
on quarterback. That's it. I love Jayden Daniels, but I
know what I'm getting with Joe Burrow, so as my four,
I'd rather take the guy with the better quarterback. Those
(18:14):
are the kind of decision making processes I think that
are very important to discuss here on the show, and
as you're going through all of your processes, make sure
that you're using them not only fantasy, but maybe also
in the wagering market. If you haven't done it before,

Speaker 1 (19:42):
After I took Higgins, Kamara, McLaurin, Christian Kirk to you,
Andrew Erickson, then Anthony Richardson to Derek Brown, Debro is
very happy about that. I assume Tank Dell goes next,
Keenan Allen, ken Walker, Aaron Jones close it out, then
Remandre Stevenson on the turn. Russhee Rice. Somebody is listening
to Andrew Erickson posts on Twitter. I can tell you
(20:03):
that James Connor goes at six h three, Stroud at
six ' oh four. Chris Godwin to deebro So, Debro,
you got Anthony Richardson, You got Chris Godwin. Certainly, I
think Godwin a guy. We all feel is being a
little undervalued, especially moving back into the slot and the
lottery pick that is Anthony Richardson. This has to feel
pretty good if you don't get Lamar Richardson. Is that
(20:24):
other lottery ticket there that really could help you have
an incredible season. Let's talk about those two picks.
Speaker 5 (20:30):
I mean, look, I'm loving how this team is shaping
up so far. Here are running back approached. I'm walking
out of this last round with three wide receivers, tight
end RB one and the Anthony Richardson. I mean, I've
said it before, I'll say it again. Anthony Richardson has
QB one overall upside this year. We know he's gonna
run this Colts offense is gonna be way, way better
(20:50):
than I think a lot of people are given a
credit for so picking him there and then plus going
mc Goodwin, I know the volume is going to be
there for Godwin. It's just a question of we're in
his upside land this year. I think we're gonna see
some regression from touchdowns from Mike Evans in the direction
of Chris Goblin. If that happens this year, Godwin is
going to be a smash value, all right.
Speaker 1 (21:11):
Potential smash value there. Andrew Erickson, you went wide receiver
after Godwin. You took Deontay Johnson, another guy where the
volume is certainly going to be there. It's the quality
we're concerned with. What can Canals do for this offense?
And Bryce Young to make Deontay Johnson a really valuable
piece this year.
Speaker 4 (21:28):
Well, Deontay Johnson can get open. So we know that,
and that's not what Carolina had last year. That's not
what the receivers Bryce Young had last year. Jonathan Mingo
could not create any separation. And when we start Bryce
Song successful at Alabama, well he had really good wide
receivers that could get open it and create separations. So
Deontay Johnson, yes, he's not without his flaws, sometimes gets
the drop seas, but what is he shown at every
(21:49):
place he's gone, especially with the Pittsburgh Steelers, is he
gets open and this team needs the aim. Last year, right,
Adam Feelin was a wide receiver one for the majority
of the season before things kind of tailed off. So
if we're putting Deontay Johnson in that wide receiver role
where Bryce Song was at his worst last year and
we still saw theel and produced for fantasy. I think
Deontay Johnson in a full PPR again, pairing him. I
went a little bit later with the receivers here, so
(22:10):
I'm looking for those PPR cheek codes. That's why I
drafted Christian Kirk. That's why I drafted Deontay Johnson, who
in half PPR, yeah, I don't know where the touchdowns
maybe aren't gonna be there for those guys, but in
a full PPR, I think those guys are really good values.
Speaker 1 (22:23):
Hollywood Brown goes next, followed by David Montgomery. I selected
Zamir White as my number two running back, the guy
that I just think is gonna get the full run
of the show over in Vegas. That's exactly the guy
I was hoping to get. He made it to me.
So I'm very happy with my hero RB big wide
receiver build. Staying on brand for Joey p Agent, shep
took Jayden Reid and then Flock took Calvin Ridley. We'll
(22:44):
get to Mason's pick at a second, because I am
enraged because t Mac took Kyle Pitts right from under me.
I thought he would make it back. He did not.
I flew too close to the sun unfortunately just was
not meant to be. We'll see what the pivot is
as mac is gonna make their second choice, and then
back to the fantasy flock. But again coming back to
some mere white. I'm looking for volume when I'm looking
for that RB two spot and a little competition. He
(23:05):
has both of those things, and you know that they're
going to want to run the football. Is Xavier Worthy
the next pick for Mason? So, Mason, you had doubled
up on wide receiver. How does the Hopkins injury here
potentially impact Calvin Ridley in your mind on your draft board?
And what is the upside in your opinion of Xavier
Worthy this season?
Speaker 2 (23:22):
I think you have to bump up Ridley now. The
initial reports was saying Hopkins is going to be out
four to six weeks. That puts him in a timeline
where maybe he's back weeks two, three, four.
Speaker 6 (23:30):
He's going into his twelve.
Speaker 2 (23:31):
Season, right, so it is very difficult to project these
guys once they get this old and start dealing with
lower body injuries.
Speaker 6 (23:36):
I think it opens the door for Calvin Ridley.
Speaker 2 (23:38):
Titans offense probably pretty bad this year, but this coaching
staff has repeatedly said that they are going to air
it out, air it out, air it out. So I
think it puts Ridley an interesting spot with upside for
Will Levis and then with Xavier Worthy. I am concerned
that he may profile to be a field stretching option
at the NFL level that helps the Chiefs more than
he helps your fantasy team, because I don't know how
many targets he's going to be able to see at
(23:59):
a SID But ultimately, he is a wide receiver that
was just selected in round one of the draft attached
to the best quarterback that I personally.
Speaker 6 (24:09):
Have ever seen. So I'm gonna go ahead.
Speaker 2 (24:12):
I will take him in the seventh when I'm just
shooting for any upside it can find out wide receiver.
Speaker 6 (24:17):
We're obviously after.
Speaker 2 (24:18):
Taking Ceede Lamb at the very beginning, kind of punted
wide receiver through four rounds.
Speaker 1 (24:22):
Joe Burrow goes next at seven oh three, and then
I select Evan Ingram at seven oh four. I'm looking
for a guy who's gonna get a ton of targets.
In my opinion, in Jacksonville, again, volume is king. Tight
ends are starting to go, and I don't want to
be outside of that room. Looking in Pitts was my target.
The pivot is Evan Ingram. Maybe a little less thrilling,
but he's coming off a great season. Can he repeat it?
I actually think he can. And I think if you
(24:43):
follow the money, and that's what I like to do. Also,
many times that'll tell you what the plan is for
many teams. They're paying Evan Ingram, which means he is
once again going to get a fair amount of work.
He was actually tight end to last year. I think
people forget that one hundred and fourteen receptions just four touchdowns,
but again he comes anywhere close to that one hundred
and forty mark. Again in targets, I think this is
(25:04):
a very good value pick. Young City takes DeAndre Swift
at seven o five. The other guy was thinking about
Christian Watson, So yah, yeah, and I continue to just
battle back and forth of how many wide receivers we
could take, but yah, y'all wins. Yah Yah has officially
taken more wide receivers than me. Love the Watson pick
doing a great job. What a fantastic heavy wide receiver build.
(25:24):
And that eight oh seven excuse me, that L seven pick.
There we have our friend Andrew Erickson going next year,
Jalen Warren goes to you, so getting some more depth
in that running back room. How do you see that
Steelers backfield working out this year? I know last year
it was very much a split, but very much a
strange offense because of the quarterback situation. What do you
(25:44):
think that running back room looks like in twenty twenty four.
Speaker 4 (25:47):
I think it's gonna have a lot of fantasy points.
I'm not so sure exactly how things are going to
be distributed, but I know that their offense coordinator, Art
the Smith wants to run the football. I know Jalen
Warren is the more explosive of the two running backs.
I know Jaalen Warren is going to be used more
in the passing game than him and Nase. So it
will not surprise me and allf Jaalen Warren out scores
Naji Harris. It does depends on how they deploy the
guys in the red zone. Last year we saw Arthur
(26:09):
Smith used talta a year a lot in the red zone.
Does you that with nause and you know that those
quotes that Naji said about, yeah they didn't pickup my
fiftye option because they didn't know how they're gonna use me
in the offense. That was after they hired off Arthur Smith.
That was after they drafted a bunch offensive linemen in
the NFL draft, So for them to for him to
reflect on that and say, man, I don't know how
they're gonna use me, Well, it seems clear to us
that they just use him as a early down grinder,
(26:31):
but I don't know if that's gonna be the case.
So I'm just gonna buy into Jalen Warren. I have
him ranked over Naji Harris, and they usually go pretty
close to each other in the drafts like we saw here,
But for me, I just prefer Jalen Warren, especially in
the full PPR.
Speaker 1 (26:42):
De bro I know you're up next. I'm gonna let
you make your other pick here seven oh eight, you
selected Brian Robinson. No surprise there, Naj Harris at seven
oh nine, Devin Singletary at seven to ten, and then
Raheem Moster and Tony Pollard to end the seventh round.
To begin the eighth round, Lad McConkey off the board,
followed by Javonte Williams. We all of a sudden's getting
some very positive buzz out of camp, the fly in
Hawaiian selects Courtland's sudden at eight oh three, and then
(27:04):
Taji Spears at eight o four. Back to Debro with
another rb SO, Brian Robinson Jonathan Brooks. They now join
Isaiah Pacheco. So you've built out the running back room.
We're hearing some rumors now that Jonathan Brooks could start
to get some work as early as week four, But
is that fool's goal? Debro. Didn't we hear that before.
We had a great conversation the other day actually on
(27:25):
out of Bounds about that, where Scott Bogman was discussing
Javonte Williams. We heard all this last year, Javonte Williams,
Everything's looking good, He's gonna be back early, all those things,
and then it just never materialized. Why is it going
to be different for Jonathan Brooks this year?
Speaker 3 (27:40):
I think you look at their injuries are very different.
Speaker 5 (27:42):
Looking at the devastating knee injury that Javonte is sustained
versus the clean ACL tear versus Jonathan Brooks, and really
I'm still willing to buy in on Jonathan Brooks, especially
after that news, because while I didn't let him slip
in this draft because I believe in the upside and
he fit my team build. I think he's gonna slip
a little bit at inn ADP and in some drafts,
especially depending on which host site that you're drafting on.
(28:04):
And I think he is a perfect RB three type
of upside pick because look at the room I've already
assembled guys. I've got Pacheco and b Rob locked in
at the top two spots.
Speaker 6 (28:14):
Brian Robertson Junior is.
Speaker 3 (28:15):
Still getting disrespected by everybody.
Speaker 5 (28:17):
I love both of those guys to fill those spots,
and Brooks is the guy where I can draft him
as an RB three. Maybe you're RB four and so
you're not asking him to fill a starting lineup spot
at the beginning of the season. You're playing the long
game in the upside of what he can provide for
you middle of the season, especially for the stretch run.
Speaker 1 (28:36):
Let's take a quick break in the action to say
you about fan tracks. Free Fantasy Football League Manager, the

After you selected Jonathan Brooks, you went quarterback Andrew Kyler
Murray at eight oh six feels like a pretty good
value there to me.
Speaker 4 (29:50):
Sorry, I was getting distracted by all ya ya Ya's
wide receivers. I think he has seven now yeah.
Speaker 1 (29:55):
I don't know. Yasa has set the chie sheet to
all wide outs. That's the cheat sheet feature. Also this
weekend a huge help sink your leagues for free download
Draft Wizard. I'm telling you, folks, we used it in
the draft. It was incredible to have right there with you,
not only to prepare, but also during the draft. Itself.
Doesn't matter if you're on Yahoo, if you're on Sleeper,
(30:17):
if you're on ESPN, any of them, it will all
connect to it. It'll help give you the insights. You
can create cheat sheets. I created a cheat sheet that
was basically myself and Andrew Ericson and Derek Brown because
it was in the draft with them, so I wanted
to see how they would value players. It was a
huge help. Use all these features to help you in
your drafts. Andrew, Now that you have some time to
(30:37):
see all the wide receivers that none of us can
draft because Yah y'ah takes them all, Kyler Murray value
I would think.
Speaker 4 (30:42):
So yeah, I really like getting to Kyler Murray here
in round eight. It kind of feels like a late
round quarterback. But he's not a late round quarterback. He
should be up there next to CJS Drought and Joe Burrows.
So I feel like I got a really good value
with him. It's why I like the late run quarterback
approach because I feel like in certain drafts you can
get at Kyler Murray in round eight and what have
(31:03):
we seen from what have we got seen from Hi
where we could see him being a potential QB one.
Now he's a rushing quarterback. You've upgraded the weapons that
he's growing to Marvin Harrison, Junior, Trey McBride. I like
Kyler Murray a lot this year. He's not entering the
year rehabbing any type of a season long injury. I
think really the only thing that's stopping Kyler Murray's just
his health overall. Like he hasn't been a guy who's
really played a full season in the NFL, at least
(31:25):
not for a while. So that's my only concern with Murray.
So I think that he's a ton of upside and
getting him a round eight feels like a steal.
Speaker 1 (31:31):
Feels like a steal for Andrew Erickson. I would kind
of agree. Romadune say at eight oh seven, then eight
oh eight, DeAndre Hopkins. I took Dak Prescott at eight
oh nine, and then Zack Moss, Jordan Addison to Mason,
Brian Thomas at the turn along with Chase Brown at
nine oh one. Key On Coleman, That's what I was
gonna take. You stole them from me. So Addison, Mason,
how do you feel about him? With Kirk Cousins now gone?
(31:54):
And again questions in terms of what that quarterback is
going to look like, in terms of is it going
to be Sam Darnold for a long period of time
or a short period of time and what that change
off looks like. And then Keyon Coleman somebody that I
think there's a big range of outcomes for, and a
lot of people are in like Scott Bogan and some
other people are out. Some other analysts here, let's talk
about Keyon Coleman because you've got a few rookies now
(32:16):
and worthy En Coleman in your wide receiver room.
Speaker 6 (32:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (32:20):
So essentially at this point of the draft, I'm shooting
for upside, right, Like I understand Jordan Edison situations worse
this year than it was the year prior. Well, It's
actually funny is if you look at Addison's rookie season
and you look at the wide receivers that at a
similar age twenty two year, the comps are Jordan Addison,
Hakeem Nicks, Larry Fitzgerald, Juju Smith, Schuster, t against Ceedee, Lamb,
Percy Arvin, Jeremy Macklan, Elijah Moore. I mean, you just
(32:42):
have stud receiver after stud receiver after stud receiver. So
I would make the argument if the situation wasn't significantly
worse for Jordan Addison, who's a former Litany cough Winner,
goes Round one of the NFL Draft, great prospect. I
think this would be someone that would be going in
rounds like three or four. To be completely honest with you,
but obviously you have to get a big discount based
off the benched concerns and how his situations much worse
(33:02):
this year than it was last year. And then Keon
Coleman in the ninth there's a boarder line Round one
NFL draft pick attached to arguably one of the best
quarterbacks in the NFL. So I honestly didn't really like
him as a prospect, but I don't think it matters
if you're gonna look at a cost where he's going
between Chase Brown and Austin Eckler this year, especially where
I'm hunting wide receiver upside in the middle rounds, I
think it's a no brainer pick, especially when I have
Josh Allen.
Speaker 1 (33:23):
Makes a lot of sense to me, all right. Continuing
on the draft board here after Keon Coleman went to Mason,
Austin Eckler went, and I took Tyler Lockett at nine
oh four. Again just kind of value on the board.
We'll see they say that they want to throw the
ball more with this new coaching staff, perhaps they will.
Zeke goes at nine to oh five, Yah Yah goes
with Jade Daniels finally a non wide receiver. Curtis Samuel
(33:44):
to you, Ericson with your first of two picks, we
can recap yours at a second Jerome Ford to Derek
Brown at nine oh eight, then Josh Palmer at nine
to nine, Jordan Love, Jamison Williams, Nick Chubb, and then
George Kittle begins the tenth round, followed by brock Perty
at ten oh two, Jacoby Myers and Josh Downs. Debro
Ford and Downs. You took Downs from me in the
(34:05):
flex draft on Saturday. I was bummed he went earlier
than I thought he would. That's because of you. So
good on you. But here you go a player that
I think did not get enough credit for how good
his rookie season was. And Jerome Ford, a player that's
looking like, at least for the first six weeks, is
going to be getting a lot of volume.
Speaker 5 (34:23):
Yeah, I mean, and again, looking at the complexion of
my team, teamings are drafting the compliments of Brooks and
Jerome Ford. One of those guys could be an RB
two or flex play for me. And looking at early
season versus late season production, I think I love drafting
both of those guys for my roster build. And Josh Downs,
I agree with you, Joey, he's getting slept on.
Speaker 3 (34:45):
It's too much.
Speaker 5 (34:46):
I think people were talking about or were not giving
enough credit to how much falloff he had after the
knee injury in week nine. Weeks one through eight, he
had over two point zero yards per route run almost
nineteen percent target here. He was humming along as the
wide receiver thirty six and fantasy points per game. If
I think Anthony Richardson I drafted him here can be
(35:07):
that type of guy, a difference maker, downs should be
coming along.
Speaker 1 (35:11):
For the ride. Makes a lot of sense to me, Andrew.
Let's break down some of your picks here, the last
two that you made Curtis Samuel and then Romeo Dobbs.
So Dobbs certainly can be a contributor in that Green
Bay offense. Curtis Samuel guy maybe upside for more. You've
talked a lot about what his twenty twenty four season
might look like, but let's talk about Samuel and Dobbs
for a moment.
Speaker 4 (35:32):
Yeah, these picks in particular aren't my favorite ultimate upside
going to win your fantasy league, but they're players that
to me can fill in roles on my particular bill
right because I didn't go with a lot of receivers
early on, so there are gonna be potential question marks.
So if I suffer an injury, if I lose Christian Kirker,
Deontay Johnson, who are values at of looking at in
the PPR format. So the way I see Samuel every
(35:54):
single year he has stretches of four to five weeks
of really good production. You look like, oh, did you
know Curtis Samuel leads the Bills in target chair after
Week five, that's probably gonna happen at some point. Now,
that doesn't mean it's going to sustain the entire season,
especially when he's holding off a guy like Ken Coleman
Dalton King Kaid, but he knows this Joe Brady offense.
So I think that if I'm in a pinch early on,
I can use Curtis Samuel And the same thing with
Romeo Dobs. When you're betting on, okay, who's gonna lead
(36:15):
the Greemitt Packers in routes run this season, Well, all
indications are it's probably gonna be Romeo Dobs. Whether that
means he's going to produce like that, that's no guarantee.
But again, something that I can fill into a role
on my roster that I need, just based on the
fact that I went heavier at the other positions and
not necessarily wide receivers. So I am valuing a little
bit more with the floor here with some of these
guys I've taken.
Speaker 1 (36:34):
Chuba Hubbard goes next to ten oh seven, then Gus
Edwards at ten oh eight. I selected Trey Benson at
ten oh nine. A project to me that you could
certainly overtime not only eat into the James Connor workload,
but maybe even overtake him, depending on the health of
James Connor, which in the past has been an issue,
but the last couple of years has been pretty good. However,
it's another year in the league, some more running backs
(36:55):
going right after too, So I'm glad that I went
ahead and selected Benson. Mike Williams goes next at ten ten,
then Zach Sharbonay at ten eleven. That was the one
I was going back and forth on Mason. Let's talk
about Zach Charbonay for a moment, because that's a guy
that another one that it's gonna be different this year
in twenty twenty four, potentially of what we saw last
(37:15):
year out of him. Do you think that sharbon Ay
can emerge as the guy or do you think that
this is really kind of, once again, as you said,
shooting for upside and hoping that maybe Walker struggles or
Sharboney gets more opportunities.
Speaker 2 (37:27):
Yeah, there's a bunch of stuff going back to your
Tyler Lockett decision that I think honestly kind of plays
the same for Charbonay. Different coaching staff, they may throw
the ball more. Sharbonne's a better pass cutcher than Kenneth Walker.
Different coaching staff creates ambiguity where we don't know exactly
what the roles will be for these guys, so I
think it potentially opens the door for Sharbonay have a
larger workload. I also personally think Zach Charbonney would have
(37:47):
been the running back one in this draft class if
he was selected this year. Great prospect can play all
three downs. If Kenneth Walker were to go down, I
would project Zach Scharbonay to be a low and RB one,
high and RB two and fantasy. So personally, I think
is no bra Blake Korham at the eleven H two
should be a good offense a little bit of ambiguity
if you look at what the coaching staffs discussed here
with the Rams. Clearly we're expecting Kyroen to be the starter,
(38:09):
but I wouldn't be surprised if Koram has a role,
and if Karen were to go down, I think he
has a lot of upside.
Speaker 1 (38:14):
This is sort of I think the sweet spot for
running backs when we're talking about or turn on investment
mas because if you look at rounds nine through eleven.
Here you've got the Chase Browns, right, You've got maybe
Eckler bounces back. You've got Jerome Ford, Zack Charbonay, Trey Benson,
Rico Dowdle who also went in the eleventh round. Now
Blake Korham, who you just selected. Julia McLoughlin. To me,
(38:36):
this is where I am. This is so much of
the reason why I am so early wide receiver, because
I feel like you can take a few of these
guys and if just one of them hits, you're in
really good shape. If more than one of them hits,
you could really make a difference with these picks. Do
you feel the same way that this is sort of
that it doesn't cost you anything to find out situation
in rounds nine through eleven when it comes to the
(38:57):
running back position.
Speaker 6 (38:58):
For sure.
Speaker 2 (38:59):
I mean these are guys that wide ranges of outcomes, right,
which is personally what I'm looking for in fantasy. I
think you could go with like a more typical standard,
say like boring selection, Like you could take Jerry Judy here.
He kind of know what you're gonna get with Jerry Judy,
But I don't think it's the same type of upside
that you're going to see with the running backs in
this rank. So personally, I love the idea of slamming
wide receivers in the middle rounds. That way, when you're
getting here to the later rounds, you can kind of
(39:20):
take those running backs that have low floors but high ceilings.
Speaker 1 (39:24):
Also, after Charbonnay goes to Mason, we had Brandon Cook's
at ten twelve, and then at eleven oh one Antonio Gibson,
Blake Korum. We just discussed Rico dowdle one pick away
for me, who I believe is going to be the
Cowboys running back now with just starting to feel like
that worm is turning in camp if you are reading
the tea leaves. Julil McLoughlin at eleven oh four. We'll
see if all the recent Javonte Williams news is hype,
(39:46):
if it's fact, or if it's fiction. We'll figure it out.
David and Joku at eleven oh five. File by Brock Bowers.
Two of the last tight ends on the board here
at the tight end one spot. Then JK. Dobbins look
at you ericson righting the wrongs of the flex weekend.
Andrew Erickson was so ready to take JK Dobbins. He
missed it. He took Jerome Ford. JK Dobbins went with
(40:06):
the next pick. He was talking and having cocktails, and
the next thing you know, JK was off the board.
How does it feel to get him here and kind
of make up for lost time this weekend? Andrew?
Speaker 4 (40:16):
How does it feel to get him in a draft
that doesn't count for anything? I mean, it doesn't feel
nearly as good because I made the mistake of missing
on JK. Dobbins in the flex draft. But hey, I
still like Jackie Dobbins a lot. He has a lot
of upside. Gus Edward's been dealing with some weird injury
for the offseason. They've been kind of slow playing him.
I mean, if it comes to injuries, when it comes
to this Chargers team, we're not getting any information. John
(40:37):
Harbo is basically just saying, yeah, he's he's dealing with
something horrible. That's all He's saying. He's dealing with something.
But at least right now, Dobbins doesn't look like he's
dealing with anything. So yeah, I feel good about him
in an offense that wants to run the ball. I
think that he's healthy. He's the most talented running back
on that roster, So JK Dobbins in round eleven, I
think all the risk is baked in if he doesn't
end up being healthy for this season.
Speaker 1 (40:55):
Debro, you're dealing with Marshawn Lloyd at eleven oh eight.
Let's discuss him. You continue to build out your running
back room. You took Robinson Brooks, Jerome Ford, Marshaw Lloyd.
You have a lot of depth there. Why Marshawn Lloyd
over guys like let's say Tyler al Jeer, who we
saw last year work in that Falcons backfield. I know
it's a different coach, but still a guy that's a
(41:15):
little bit more proven as opposed to this rookie Lloyd.
Why make that kind of pick?
Speaker 5 (41:19):
Fully believe in the talent, Fully believe in the player.
I'm fading Josh Jacobs have been remain there and.
Speaker 3 (41:25):
I was not going to get sniped anymore.
Speaker 5 (41:27):
After watching you take Julia McLoughlin, I was like, now
not gonna happen. You and Erickson are not taking him
out away from me. I'm getting Marshawn Lloyd on this team.
Speaker 1 (41:38):
Fair enough, fair enough. Avoiding the Snipes. That's why these
drafts are fun. Ty Chandler at eleven oh nine, Dallas
Godder eleven ten, one of many tight ends to go
here in this run because after Rashis jah Head and
Kendre Miller go, we start a twelfth round with Cole
Comet than Pat Frymouth and TJ. Hawkinson. Hawkinson went very
early in Saturday's Expert League draft, earlier than I thought
he would. That was interesting. Jalen Polk at twelve oh four,
(41:59):
and then Pop Douglas.
Speaker 5 (42:00):
To you, Dee Bro, I think we've gone a little
bit too far as far as all the Patriots hate
for this offense. I think, look, I do not believe
that Drake May is going to start the beginning of
this season. I don't even if we're going to see
much of Drake May this entire year. But if that's
the case, and jacobys said is under center, I think
we're really sleeping on how good he's played whenever he's
been given opportunities and the upside in this offense. So Pop,
(42:23):
I know what his role is going to be like,
we don't know how the rest of that receiving corps
is going to shake out. Who's gonna be starting on
the outside around him. Pop Douglas is gonna be their
starting slot wide receiver. He has the same path as
these other guys to possibly lead them in targets this year.
Speaker 1 (42:37):
It's interesting because Polk wind right before you think that's
a mistake.
Speaker 3 (42:40):
I think it is a mistake.
Speaker 5 (42:41):
I would draft Pop Douglas over him, and I would
take the value on Javon Baker over drafting Jeo and
Polk where he.
Speaker 1 (42:47):
Goes ericson after you took Dobbins, you came back in
the twelfth with Tyler al Jeer.
Speaker 4 (42:52):
Yeah, I tell her Joe another running back that if
he I think he's more injury contingent than what the
latest reports would lead you to believe. I think that
those were kind of taking out of context when we're
talking about Zach Robinson talking about how Algier is gonna
have a big role. If you read the whole quote,
it really doesn't. I mean he was I basically asked
about Algier, and it's like, yea, I'm gonna talk bad
about this guy. Of course, I like out here because
(43:12):
when they asked about Bejeon, he said, yeah, he's christ
McAfrey in this offense. So clearly there's a disconnect because
Tyler can't have this massive role on offense while also
be Jon Robinson the chrisianmccaffrey role. So there's a disconnect there.
But I still like Algier from a hey in certain
game script where the Falcons are up, Yeah, he's gonna
get the rock. Why they're not going to put throw
Bijon out there to eat clock in the second half
of games and that's not what That's not his job.
(43:34):
Algier is meant for that. So I think he's going
to have a fair share of spike weeks and then
you have that contingent upside of if anything does happen
to Beiji. And I know Bijon left practice I believe
on Monday who was getting all the first team reps?
So it was Tyler Algier. So he's proven at the
NFL level a thousand yard rusher as a rookie, So
I think he has a lot of upside.
Speaker 1 (43:51):
Interesting to go back and forth about those two things,
right looking at a guy like Marshall Lloyd versus Algier.
Both guys right now on the depth chart, not the
number ones, but certainly you can make for them being
productive this season after our jeer Jalen Reich Goes and
Dalton Schulz at twelve to eight. I took don Tavian
Wicks at twelve o nine. If I don't get Watson,
I usually get wis one of those two guys in
Green Bay than Caleb Williams Mason. You took Khalil Shakier
(44:12):
than Khalil Herbert went the Ravens defense off the board,
Jerry Judy back to you, So let's talk about Shakir
and Judy, are you worried all about the knee? And
are you worried also the UF key on Coleman and
Khalil Shakir? How does that work in your brain for
your roster.
Speaker 2 (44:26):
I think the Bills specifically can be the highest scoring
offense in the NFL this season. And when we're getting
down here to the end of the twelfth, the beginning
of the thirteenth, this is about the range of we
are more likely than not cutting these guys within the
first four weeks. These are going to be the guys
that can potentially be sent over to the waiver wire.
So I'm looking for guys that I think we're going
(44:47):
to get clarity on at the beginning of the season,
Shaquir may be one of those options where he potentially
comes out in Buffalo and he's the number three, he's
the number four guy. But also it's a very uncertain
depth chart. We could possibly see Shakira at the top
of the league in targets at the beginning of the
top of the Buffalo depth chart and targets at the
beginning of the season. So we have Alan, I'm fine
(45:08):
continue to go all in on this Bill's offense.
Speaker 6 (45:10):
And then with Judy.
Speaker 2 (45:11):
It is a little concerning with the Ayuk trade rumors,
But like I said, when we're getting here to the
final three picks of these teams, especially when you're gonna
be rostering a defense here as well, it's really the
final two picks. We really need to be thinking about
guys that could potentially hit in a big time way
and we can keep them or if they don't hit
within the first three weeks, I'm fine sending them to waifers.
Speaker 1 (45:31):
Yeah, and speaking of those defenses again, you mentioned about
some of these picks at the end we're going to
be cutting. I'd rather go out there and take a defense.
It's going to get me some big time points. So
I went out there, and after the Ravens went and
Ady Mitchell went, you took Judy there in between, I
took the forty nine ers defense and Jermaine Burton at
thirteen oh five. Yeah, yeah, I can only assume is
at some point going to take another wide receiver? We
(45:52):
don't know, but yah yah did in all fairness eventually
get some running backs on this team. But we'll see
what that looks like. Ericson, I know you're up in
five seconds here, what is in the queue? As Damian
Pierce just goes off the board at thirteen oh six before.
Speaker 4 (46:06):
You, I'm looking at wide receivers and I'm trying to
figure out how to balance Saturday and upside play or
who because I'm not looking for meat production. So again,
kind of like Mason alluded to, is there a way
that I can figure out what this guy's role is
on this offense? Is he just out there to run
routes or is he going to actually see targets? So
for me, I'm going with Darnell Mooney. So again, he
plays on expulsive Atlanta Falkins offense. He's been kind of
(46:27):
written off after a really injury plagued season. Last year,
but he got paid in free agency. Saw this two
years ago with Christian Kirk got paid. People thought it
was an overpay and then he bawled out last year.
Jakobe Myers thought it was an overpay. What happened? He
bawled out. Could Darnel Mooney be that next guy? I
think it's possible. So I think taking a shot out
of me here to see how things play out in
Week one think's worth it.
Speaker 1 (46:47):
I agree. I drafted him with my second to last
pick on Saturday for all the same reasons. And I
was just done with Jake Seally on his show discussing that,
and we were talking about, Look, it's gonna be London,
it's gonna be pits. I'm sure Bjon is going to
be great, but there's gonna be some other guys there
who we're gonna get some work. Why not a Darnell Mooney.
Maybe it's not a guy that you're he's not a
wide receiver three necessarily in fantasy, but he's a guy
(47:08):
you could possibly start in some bye weeks. Yeah, I
think you probably could. Or if there are some injuries,
could he get some more volume?
Speaker 3 (47:13):
Sure?
Speaker 1 (47:14):
Absolutely. After Mooney goes Ricky Pearsall to you de bro So,
I guess the big question is do you think Ayuk
is getting moved? It seems like the things are moving
towards that direction. And if so, how good could Ricky
Piersal be. Early on in twenty twenty four we.
Speaker 5 (47:29):
Just talked about taking upside shots. Ricky Piersoll is the
perfect example to that entire conversation late and yes, I've
been there, still there. I think there's a huge chance
that Ayuk gets moved. And now we're hearing more buzz
about that the closer that we get through the preseason
a week one and Ricky Piersoll mean, look, this is
a consolidated offense. You know, we might want to talk
(47:50):
about the passing volume, how that all shakes out. Piersaw
could be one of those guys like how many times
we gotta see this? Guys, George Kittle can miss time
deepo Samuel has been banged up at various points in
his career. We could see this easily happen to where
Pearsall is elevated. Not throwing Christian McCaffrey, although he's a
huge part of their passing offense, but he's elevated at
some point of the season where he's fighting to be
(48:12):
the number two in that passing offense and one of
the highest scoring, most efficient offenses in the NFL. So
shooting for upside Pearsall is the should be the poster boy.
Speaker 1 (48:22):
For this makes a lot of sense, that's for sure.
After you went ahead and selected Pearsall gave Davis, then
the Jets defense, Cowboys defense, Jahan Dotson, Eli Mitchell, one
of my favorite late round picks, goes to start the
fourteenth round at fourteen oh two Tua. Then Rashad Bateman,
Kamani Vaidal goes at fourteen oh four. Then you took
Javon Baker. Look at you, de bro, mister Patriot. All
(48:43):
of a sudden, you're making me optimistic about the season,
stock and go run stop it. Just don't give me hope,
because that's the worst thing I can have.
Speaker 3 (48:51):
I mean, shooting for upside. What are we talked about?
Speaker 5 (48:53):
Mason brought it up like probably these late picks, one
of these is gonna get cut to the waiver wire.
I'm shooting the shot on who can be the wide
receiver won for this offense this year, And again I
think we're sleeping on the upside of whoever that is.
Javon Baker, Pull up anything, search his name on social media,
pull up any clip you want, because there's tons of
him where He's been making highlight reel plays the entirety
(49:17):
of camp.
Speaker 3 (49:18):
That talent is real. I think he could lead this
team in targets this year if it's not Pop Douglas.
Speaker 1 (49:23):
All right, there you have it, everybody Erickson, after Baker went,
you would took Michael Wilson from Arizona fourteen oh six
your thoughts on Wilson.
Speaker 4 (49:32):
I mean, what if Marvin Harrison's is not as good
as everyone thinks he is?
Speaker 1 (49:35):
Sacrilege, get out.
Speaker 4 (49:36):
I mean, got out keep the drafts. If you say
anything Harrison Junior. This is what happens people.
Speaker 1 (49:42):
Just y say in my draft room, not in my
draft room.
Speaker 4 (49:47):
You see that we haven't seen him play yet. Well
I know as I saw Michael Wilson ball out the
end of last year with Kyler Murray. So we'll see
what happens.
Speaker 1 (49:53):
Uh. Just so everybody knows Marvin Harrison Junior is going
to be amazing, you know, just like all the Just
like when you know Jamar Chase comes in as fourteen
hundred yards in his rookie year, just like we have.
You know, guys like Justin Jefferson come in the rookie
year and have fourteen hundred yards. It's gonna be the
next one. Just get in.
Speaker 4 (50:09):
Now, either of which were first round picks in fantasy
the years they were drafted.
Speaker 1 (50:13):
You know what, though, But maybe we're learning because Marvin Harrison,
maybe you know, I think he is. You know, Mason
talked about not liking being of the turn. If you
give me Marvin Harrison at the turn, I'm taking him
every single time. Every single time, he's gonna be on
my roster. Roshawn Johnson goes after Bucky Irving, and then
I took Jayalen McMillan again Upside, Xavier Laguette, then Audric Estime,
Adam Thielen, Quintin Johnson, the Browns defense estimate. Mason, talk
(50:37):
to me about your thoughts on him.
Speaker 6 (50:38):
I don't know if he's any good. He's had some
buzzing camp.
Speaker 2 (50:41):
I'm really just shooting for someone that we can take
that potentially goes through has a roll week one. If
he doesn't cool, I'm fine going ahead and cutting him.
Speaker 1 (50:50):
Okay, You're okay, going ahead and cutting him potentially, and
then you took the Cleveland Browns defense. I want to
talk about the Cleveland Browns offense, Maze. I want to
get your take on this, because this is an offense
that I am running, like just to the hills. I
want nothing to do with them. I can't figure them out.
The health of Nick Chubb scares me. The quarterback play
scares me. Who's playing quarterback at any given moment is
(51:11):
anybody's guest. There's so many concerns that I have potentially
here with this roster. Do you find yourself also running
away from the Cleveland Browns? Do you think this is
a team where you just can't invest or do you
think it's an opportunity because of all of the question
marks that I just threw out there a.
Speaker 2 (51:28):
Couple different things. I know you're a big sports book
guy looking at implied team totals. The Browns throughout the
course of the entire year projected to be the eighteenth
highest scoring offense, so kind of middle of the road.
I've been drafting a ton of basketball teams so far,
where there Nick Chubb and Jerome Ford are so cheap
you can take them at the eleven twelve, turn and
lock in all the Browns touches, especially with the form
(51:49):
and injury. Now, so I personally have drafted some Browns.
I agree, though from a regular redraft perspective, I don't
know if the passing volume is going to be there
to get super excited about these guys, but it will
be very thing if, for whatever reason, I actually does
get Delta Cleveland, how the offense projects out at that point.
Speaker 1 (52:06):
After the Pittsburgh Steelers go at fifteen oh three, I
took Wandel Robinson at fifteen oh four. Again, just looking
for upside somebody else besides Milik Neighbors. Right, we're playing
the late round game of somebody else besides Dot dot
Dot Chiefs Defense, New Orleans defense, the Seahawks defense. To
ericson why the Seahawks Andrew give it to everybody because.
Speaker 4 (52:28):
They have a really good favorable schedule, which I for
some reason, I'm not able to pull up right now.
But at least i'm I'm I'm at least I hopefully
I remember it correct. They didn't pick the wrong You're.
Speaker 3 (52:36):
Right, You're right.
Speaker 5 (52:37):
They started over to the Broncos, Broncos Patriots. Then they
get the Dolphins lines.
Speaker 1 (52:41):
But the juggern than that the Chicago Bears defense. To
de Bro, why the Bears defense?
Speaker 5 (52:51):
They get to play inaccurate and turnover prone Will Lewis
in the first week of the season.
Speaker 1 (52:57):
So love it, So Mims goes, I love the early defense, guys.
I love you guys. I am such a team I know.
Speaker 4 (53:04):
But I'm also I can't do that.
Speaker 1 (53:06):
Yeah, that works if you know what. Else where's getting
defenses like the Cowboys, like the Ravens and like the
forty nine ers that ever.
Speaker 5 (53:12):
And then Joey streaming somebody else over them by week three.
Speaker 1 (53:16):
No, never, that's not true. Look at any of my rosters,
my friend, any of my rosters. I came out with
a B respectable. That's how I felt about this draft.
I took Prescott too soon. I should have paid more
attention to the insights. Young City wins the draft. Congratulations,
Young City, You're the big winner. Derek Brown, you came
in third, yah yah with all the wide receivers at fourth.
(53:37):
I was fifth.
Speaker 3 (53:38):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (53:38):
Then you had Uh let's see Andrew Erickson. Where are
you here? I'm trying to look for you, but you
got I am at nine.
Speaker 7 (53:52):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (53:52):
Let's look at the expert opinions here and see who
liked and hated our drafts. Joe Pizzapia gave me an
a ninety four part of one hundred. Our good friend
Brandon Murchison, who I love. Merch, who was in all
one of these mock drafts a couple weeks ago, saw
him at Flex. He gave me an a two. In
terms of people who didn't like my draft. That's okay,
you don't have to like everything, de bro. Who liked
(54:14):
your draft and hated your draft? And then we'll break
down your roster.
Speaker 5 (54:17):
Well, first of all, give the bronze medal to me.
Really happy to be on the podium, enjoying this, especially
after giving my.
Speaker 1 (54:25):
Though that's the problem.
Speaker 5 (54:26):
Yeah, well still it was pretty well was in the year.
Dalton del Don gave me a ninety seven.
Speaker 3 (54:31):
I gave myself a ninety four. Merch gave me a
ninety three. It's a good time.
Speaker 5 (54:34):
Kevin Steele give me a ninety here with the highlighting
Drake London, Pachecko and downs picks.
Speaker 3 (54:40):
Man, I'm just loving.
Speaker 1 (54:41):
Life right now. Okay, let's see how much you love
your team Debro Anthony Richardson, I say at pacheck O,
Brian Robinson. Interesting start there with Robinson as your number
two running back? Do you feel confident in that?
Speaker 3 (54:52):
I do. I feel very very confident in Robinson.
Speaker 1 (54:54):
Because the wide receiver room is pretty solid here. Jefferson,
Drake London two number ones, Chris Godwin, a guy to
the slot could be very good. But the reason why
the wide receiver three is a little bit on the
weaker size because you went early tight end, which Ray
McBride and I think you'll take that switch every single day.
Love the McBride pick there. Jonathan Brooks is your flex,
but obviously not starting the season. That's just where he's
grading out the Bears defense. Then Jerome Ford, Pop, Douglas Downs,
(55:18):
Marshawn Lloyd, Pierce, Sall, Baker, deebro I look at this
roster and if Downs and Douglas hit, you make up
any deficit there potentially at the flex spot or wide
receiver three. Do you see things the same way I do?
Speaker 5 (55:29):
Man, and I like the complexion of how I kind
of built the running back room out after Isaiah Pacheco.
If he is that true hero RB and he pays off,
then I'm really just trying to piece together RB two.
I feel good about b Rob there, but I also
had the upside swings for Jonathan Brook's late season Jerome
Ford maybe it's early season or late season, depending on
(55:50):
what Nick Chubb does or doesn't do. And then the
wild card of Marshawn Lloyd and my love for him
is well known.
Speaker 1 (55:57):
My love for Mason Dodd is well known too. Let's
look at his rock, Sir Josh Allen, the big QB there,
Devon ah Chan, Josh Jacobs, a little bit of country,
a little rock and roll there feels like in that backfield, right, Mason,
you got the big sexy Devon a Chan pick right,
and then you've got Josh Jacobs, the theoretical steady Eddie.
Is that how you see this backfield?
Speaker 4 (56:15):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (56:15):
I mean essentially just locking in touches with Jacobs and
sending up a prayer that a Chan can see volume
this year.
Speaker 1 (56:22):
Let's hope. You know what, I was a little skeptical
in terms of Han. I'm starting to warm up now.
Maybe I'm just getting a little bit more comfortable with
the risk. I know the ADP is high, but man,
the upside is there, and you know we have the
size conversation about him. But if I'm gonna say I
love Jamir Gibbs, then I've got to say that I
have to be confident in a chan too. Then ce
D Lambs. If you're Worthy, Calvin Ridley, then you have
(56:42):
Dalton Kincaid at tight end again another one where you
went earlier on tight end. Addison is your flex. So
let's talk about the wide receivers here, Mace Lamb, Worthy, Ridley, Addison.
This is an interesting group because they're certainly upside here.
Lamb is clearly the alpha dog. Do you worry there
in terms of maybe weekly floor with these guys, considering
what Addison's playing with a quarterback and Ridley, and maybe
(57:05):
where Xavier Worthy is in terms of the target share.
Speaker 2 (57:08):
I think if you told me that I had to
play Xavior Worthy at wide receiver three through the entire year,
I would be terrified. If you told me, maybe it's Worthy,
maybe it's Keon Coleman, You're really only need one to
hit there.
Speaker 6 (57:20):
I feel a lot more comfortable with it.
Speaker 2 (57:22):
While I completely admit both these guys have incredibly low
floors if you look at just the wide range of
outcomes that they're dealing with. I think if we have
multiple players with this kind of profile in only needing
one to hit.
Speaker 6 (57:34):
I feel pretty comfortable with it.
Speaker 1 (57:36):
The rest of the team there Cleveland Brown's defense than
Charboney on the love the bench here, sharbon Ay Coleman,
Koram Khalil, Shakir Estime and Judy bringing up the rail.
But everybody knows how I feel about the Browns, so
I'm not gonna say too much about Jerry, Judy, Andrew
Erickson who loved and hated your team out of curiosity.
Speaker 4 (57:53):
I liked my team. I gave myself a ninety out
of one hundred. And Joe Arika one of my favourite,
one of my.
Speaker 1 (57:59):
Favors the show We Love Joe, he gave me a.
Speaker 4 (58:03):
Ninety seven out of one hundred, so that makes me
feel we got to get job show. I uh, yeah, no,
he's a great guy. But I don't feel great about
my draft. I mean, I went with the Superhero RB
and I think I just put that cape on and
I flew close to too close to the sun just
drafting running backs, and I got burned because my receivers
are just not not good. Tenth overall, well, in all.
Speaker 1 (58:22):
Things ericson Yah, y'all did take all of them right
before you.
Speaker 4 (58:26):
Well, everything I think that his team or his or
her team, I think is is kind of interesting. I
kind of wanted to talk about it real quick because
they started with seven wide receivers after drafting and running
back with Jon Robinson. But then when you look at
what they did, getting Jayden Daniels great later on quarterback,
getting Brock Bauers a great late run tight end, getting
Chuba Hubbard as their RB two, that's exactly how you
(58:46):
execute the hero RB strategy when you were waiting in
this long waiting for a chubapper is gonna be the
week one started with the Caroline Panthers. That's a guy
he can start in his lineup, so he wasn't reaching
for another starting running back. So yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever
he or sheets to you, I don't.
Speaker 1 (59:03):
Know about that though, because I look at the build
and as theoretically interesting as it is, some of the
personnel is where I question it, because.
Speaker 4 (59:09):
Yeah, I think the personnel, Okay, I think that's up
for to be. I think speaking positionally, I'm speaking positions theoretically.
Speaker 1 (59:16):
I think positionally makes a lot of sense. Getting Daniels
late Bowers late. The upside there are you're swinging it
at easily replaceable quarterbacks. If Jaden Daniels doesn't, you know,
you can find guys off the waiver wire. If Daniels
is disappointing. But Diggs again, let's see what's left in
that tank. Let's see how he works in with this team.
Cooper Cupp. Sure everything sounds good now, but everything is
good now this time of year in camp. I love TMC,
(59:37):
I love Watson. Those are two guys I'm drafting everywhere,
so I like that, but certainly an interesting build. I'm
curious what people think about it. Drop your comments below
about yah Ya's team. Your team though, Andrew Kyler, Murray,
Breis Hall, Rashad White. I love this start here, then
Jalen Wattle, Christian Kirk, Deontay Johnson in a full PPR,
especially with Mark Andrews is the big tight end. I
think you're actually being kind of rough on yourself. Deeper.
(01:00:00):
Do you think Andrew's being a little tough on himself here?
Because you've got a lot of volume between Wattle, Kirk,
Johnson and then Andrews, who's basically kind of like theoretically
another wide receiver, right, Debro, Yeah, I.
Speaker 5 (01:00:11):
Think you're being a little bit hard on yourself. Like
I like your team a lot. I think that the
big part about it as far as like projection, and
maybe this is just us versus consensus, but like, I
am much much higher on Christian Kirk and Deontay Johnson.
I think you are too ericson and like on their
projections and how good they could be for this season.
So looking at them as your wide receiver two and three,
(01:00:33):
I'm very comfortable. I think the only thing I would
have changed with the team build is with you going
with Breese and having the hero RB, I probably would
have taken a wide receiver instead of going with Shad
White and punted RB two down the road a little bit.
Speaker 3 (01:00:44):
That's the only rest of the dude.
Speaker 1 (01:00:46):
The rest of the roster here. Jalen Warren Seahawks defense
than Samuel Dobbs, JK. Dobbins, Aljier Mooney and Wilson. Speaking
of flying too close to the sun, Debro, Andrew Erickson,
you know went up fourteen to seven in that first
Madden game we played, and I ended up winning twenty
eight to fourteen. Then in Game two kicked the last
second field goal to win. He did the gritty on
(01:01:06):
me after that second touchdown that first game, and then
I just lost my mind. And then in game three,
when Andrew had won too many cocktails, Kyron Williams scored
seven touchdowns on him. Seven. So there's one man, where's
the screenshot, where's the check? You know what happened. I'm
going to get my phone to take the screenshot of
the He immediately quits the game at the end, does
(01:01:28):
not you, son of us? I couldn't believe he did that.
Karen Williams with the seven touchdowns on him, It was unbelievable,
I tell you, in my barroom on the seventy five
inch TV in front of it, just like doing his
little dance there after. Tyreek Hill has a big touchdown,
(01:01:48):
talk about too close to the sun. Joey p Team,
Dak Prescott at qv Derek Henry, Zameir White, I'm on,
Rossain Brown, Nico Collins, T Higgins, wo we that's a
sexy group. Evan Ingram, George Pickings at the flex forty
nine Ers defense. Tyler Lockett on the bench with McLoughlin, Benson,
wis Wan Dale and Jalen McMillan, Erickson or Icarus. However,
(01:02:10):
I want to call you, what do you think of
this roster? Your team?
Speaker 3 (01:02:14):
Let me see it again?
Speaker 4 (01:02:15):
Okay, So I think that it's I mean, it's good,
it's solid. You got you got more running backs that
don't catch passes. It's PPR.
Speaker 1 (01:02:25):
Come on, man, But I got I got wide receivers
that catch a whole lot.
Speaker 4 (01:02:28):
I feel like, okay, but I'm just saying I'm gonna
cut this is like le Mere White, Derrick Henry. Those
guys aren't catch passes, so.
Speaker 1 (01:02:36):
They score touchdowns.
Speaker 4 (01:02:38):
Solid, solid B minus.
Speaker 1 (01:02:40):
It's a good team. If only Williams was on it,
maybe it would be you would have hated it was
Kyra Williams. Mason, what do you think of this roster?
Speaker 4 (01:02:49):
Bill?
Speaker 1 (01:02:50):
What are your thoughts here on this?
Speaker 2 (01:02:51):
I think I need to play with the draft wizard
more and figure out how to replicate what you did
so I don't get to see minus next time.
Speaker 1 (01:02:58):
There you go, de Bro your on this team before
we had out here today, especially this wide receiver. Look,
I'm on Rod Nico t. Higgins Pickens. That's pretty good
group of four right there.
Speaker 3 (01:03:08):
I think it's good. Man. I like the team that
you built.
Speaker 5 (01:03:10):
I think Ingram is a little bit of a step down,
Like taking him where you took him is basically saying, Okay,
he needs to be close or in that elite tier.
I still I'm a little bit further down on Ingram
just looking at the splits between him and Cousins. I
mean him and Kirk when he was out last year,
and then Dak Prescott. I think those are the only
(01:03:31):
two picks, But I mean the volume you locked up
around those wide receivers with Henry and Zamir. I love it,
as well as the upside shots you took on Benson
and McLoughlin. Like I like this team a lot.
Speaker 1 (01:03:42):
