Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome in everybody to Fantasy pros. You know, every single season,
some rookie shows up and win somebody a fantasy league.
And I'm here to give you some names with my
two best friends, Jake Seely and Scott Bogman. Jake Seely
fors from the athletic and Scott Bogman one of the
most athletic people I know. So ironically those two things
have converged here and we're going to talk about rookies.
And of course these guys know what they're talking about.

(00:22):
Scott Bogman the host of our Dynasty Football podcast, and
Jake Seely has read a book or two about fantasy
once in a while. So we are going to break
down some rookies, some earlier ones that we really think
you should be investing in, despite maybe some higher ADP,
we think it might be worth an end, a couple
late round gems two that might really turn the tide

(00:42):
of your fantasy season. Before we get after it, just
a quick reminder if you're watching this video, and I
know y'are because you just heard me say that, drop
your comments below, Subscribe to Fantasy Bros. And you just
might win yourself at James Cook autograph jersey. That's right,
the Bills own RB touchdown machine courtesy of Pristine Auction
dot Com. You have to do with subscribe to the
YouTube right here Fantasy Pros, drop your comments like this

(01:04):
video and ring the bells of Likos ding for notifications.
That's it. That's all you gotta do, and that's how
we'll alert you if you're the big winner of the
James Cook Jersey this month. All right, Jake, let's start
with you here. Who is the first of your rookies
are going to make a huge impact in fantasy landscapes
in twenty twenty five.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
So I didn't take the mee bound layup like Bogmin
did for this one. And then I also wanted to
avoid two running backs I've talked about a lot recently.
I'm Maria and Hampton and Travon Henderson. So I want
to be a little bit different because if people watch,
of course recent shows, I just talked up Hampton a lot.
So I'm gonna talk tedor romc MacGowan, And I know
a lot of people are talking McMillan, But the reason
I bring them up is that I might not be
as high as some people. Honestly, when you look at consensus.

(01:42):
But the reason I think that you invest in him
and why I say, I'm okay if you want to
take him inside the top fifty, which is a Tier
five wide receiver. For me, my Tier five wide receivers
goes from twenty two to thirty six. If you want
to take any of them first in that tier, I'm
okay with it. If you want to push some down
that you don't like. Because the up side McMillan is
if Bryce Young looks anything like he did at the

(02:03):
end of last year, if McMillan steps in and he
is the talent that we saw in college and that
Warranton and being the first or second wide receiver off
the board, depending on how you look at Hunter, if
he walks into one hundred and thirty plus targets, and actually,
you know what, even if Bryce Young isn't as good
as he was at the end of last year, if
he's just middle of the pack one hundred and thirty targets,
there's gonna be value of McMillan pushing a top twenty five,

(02:23):
even possibly top twenty wide receiver season as a rookie.
So that's why I wanted to bring him up one
to differentiate from some names that I've already brought up,
but to say that while I might not be the
highest on him, I'm actually okay with you taking him
as a top fifty pick.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
I think the volume is going to be there, and
I could see him have a season very similar that
people don't see coming that Brian Thomas had last year.
I really can look Trevor Lawrence was a little down
in the doldrums last year. Bryce Young, I think people
don't realize really started to pick things up here towards
the end, and I think Teed McMillan is a great
volume play with upside for more. All right, mister easy peasy,

(02:58):
you took the easy way out, but not really because
the guy you're going to talk about you have to
basically spend a top ten pick on to get. And
I think whenever we're doing with rookies, you know, we've
seen things blow up in people's faces before, like Clyde
Edwards a Laire who back in the day got moved
up to a top six or five overall pick.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
At one point where you mentioned Clyde Edwards a Laire
with this.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
And then well, gent, I'm not saying that. I'm saying
people sometimes not that he is anywhere close to the talent,
but when people are making that kind of investment a
rookie and it goes wrong, it scares them off forever. Now,
genty obviously the kind of guy that you feel much
better about making that investment, but it is a very
hefty investment box.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
I mean, listen, I just there's a stat. We shouldn't
get enamored with stats, especially stats that are ridiculous, right,
but there's one for gent I can't walk past, and
it's one hundred and fifty two mistackles forced last season. Yes,
he played in the G six at Boise State, you know,

(04:00):
not the premiere not the premier division in college football.
But the record before his one hundred and fifty two
last season was one hundred and four by Bijon Robinson.
And I think Cam Skatabu put the only other one
hundred misstackle force season up last season as well, So

(04:21):
you know, these are ridiculous numbers. This guy is going
to come in and change the entire aspect of the
Raiders offense. He's going to come in and have three
hundred touches immediately and to me, I think you can
pick him as high as seven. I don't have him
at seven. I have him at twelve. So he's still
a first rounder for me and your standard half PPR

(04:41):
you know, Fantasy League. But he's in a grip of
guys to me that if he went at seven, I
don't beat an eye. I'm not shocked. So a top
half or a second half of the first round player
already and could be worth more than that at the
end of the season. So yes, it's an easy me bound.
It's a layup, as seely mentioned here. But you know,

(05:05):
I've talked ad nauseum about rookies all off season. I
wrote up rookies for the Black Book, and I think
we skip over ashing Genty because he is so obvious.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
Some I will say I made the joke, but also
in the fact that I actually don't have Genty as
a first rounder. Mostly, I'm concerned a little bit of
the touchdown equity and I'm concertained of the touches. I'm
not concerned about the fact, you know, I have him
for midteen fourteen, fifteen hundred yards. I just have a
concern of whether or he's going to hit double digit
touchdowns and partly because I don't know how much Gino
is going to throw it to him consistently, especially in

(05:36):
the red zone. So all that being said, I have
him a mid second round, mid upper second round, and
I think that's I made the joke, but I think
it's interesting as you're either going to be with Bogman
and get him or if you're just slightly under, as
you said, joke, you're just not going to get him.
If you're slightly under, Yeah, that's fine.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
Look I would take it.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
It's fine. You can be slightly under three hundred and
ninety seven touches twenty seven hundred three nine yards and
thirty touchdowns that he had last season. Obviously great the NFL,
much harder than the Mountain.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
West, yet little harder than the NFL.

Speaker 3 (06:08):
This dude is going He ran track down the street
for me.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
I think I have a close connection to gentle.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
I don't know him personally at all, and I'm still
taking Derrick Henry over him. But I love Ashton genty
uh So, just putting that out there, but I agree
with everybody all the sentiments there. If you want him,
you're gonna have to probably pay, uh you know. Top
ten overall pick. However, in casual leagues, guys, I do
think you you know, people will still be like, oh,
it's a rookie, don't know as much about him. The
Raiders are great. You might see him float into that

(06:34):
second round. If so, just smash, smash that pick. McCaffrey
will go ahead of him in casual drafts, I'm telling
you right now.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
And a lot of the picks are wide receiver in
front of him for me, not necessarily running backs.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
And that's very Taco Collins, Brian Thomas Junior, a couple
of those guys absolutely there.

Speaker 3 (06:50):
That's why I have him at twelve because I have
more wide receivers in front.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
All right, let's get back to Jake with another name
here on the list. It's a Patriot too. I love
what JA talked about pots Trayvion Anderson, who has finally
brought some explosiveness to a Patriots offense that desperately, desperately
needs someone athletic to play football for them.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
Yes they do, and we've seen them get talked up already.
And I made the joke about talking about Henderson again.
But it's been a while, So it's been a while,
so I thought I had to bring Shravan Henderson back
and say that the reason I was high on him,
and Joe knows this because we I think you and
I were the one to talked about him about a
month ago when I was on this network talking about Henderson,
is that I don't need Henderson to have two hundred

(07:29):
and fifty touches. I brought up the fact that the
last running back that finished as an RB one not
getting two hundred and ten touches was some guy named
James White in this backfield under McDaniels, And what is
Henderson all of those things? So I think if you
look at Henderson, yeah, I would love if you got
two hundred fifty touches. I think he could. I don't
think the Patriots will give him that, mostly because why

(07:50):
risk the injury of what we've seen coming out of college.
But also they have other pieces to use back there.
But he'll be used in the valuable aspect half of
full point PPR. The pass catcher, by the way, I
don't know if you guys heard great pass blocker. He'll
be out there on the field for at least half,
if not more, of the touches. And again, the more
valuable touches that we want in fantasy where I think
people are like, well, what happens if he gets to

(08:11):
the goal line? You tell me Stevenson, Gibson and Henderson.
I'm still turning to Henderson when we get to the
goal line. So I think that he's a great value
at RB. I have him RB twenty and he's pushing
the top fifty for me.

Speaker 1 (08:22):

and what a surprise. It's a guy from college. What
was it Texas?

Speaker 3 (08:55):
I believe is the college shucker. Well, listen, my guy,
Matthew Golden, and there is a great situation here in
Green Bay That's why I put him on this list.
I mean, you go back to last season and know
that it was just a crazy, wacky deal in terms
of the percentages they used these wide receivers. I mean,

(09:18):
Jaden Reid was like under sixty percent snapshare in six
of the final nine weeks of the season. He's their
best white out. Romeo Dobbs didn't. He get suspended for
a week for being a cry baby and then he
had concussions after that. Christian Watson's out for the season,
D'antavian Wicks didn't hit like we wanted last season. And

(09:39):
you take all of those little things in this wide
receiver room in Green Bay and you go, okay, Well,
Jordan Love also was hurt Week one last season and
was not at one hundred percent for the rest of
the year. I think you take those you see them
spend a first round pick on Matthew Golden, who is
a guy you know, Fitzie and I have gone back

(10:00):
and forth on him because he's a Packers fan. Doesn't
really like Matthew Golden. Though a lot of those analytic
numbers tell about how he was a late performer at Texas.
He wasn't as good at Houston. I'll disagree with that.
He wasn't great at Houston, but I thought Donovan Smith
was a decent quarterback and maybe gonna get drafted before that.
He got bench last year at Houston without Matthew Golden,

(10:22):
and quinn Ewers looked awesome at times with Matthew Golden.
And obviously you watched all the playoff. I love Golden.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
You know how I feel about Golden.

Speaker 3 (10:31):
And you couldn't Jake. Joe wouldn't shut up about Matthew Gordon.

Speaker 1 (10:35):
But wouldn't shut up about him all year, and then
at the end in that big game, I was like,
look when you show up in those big games, in
those big moments, I mean, that's the guy who was like, Okay,
that's NFL here.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
He called Scott, let's talk about what you and I
did at the draft. He's got a lot of makings
of Jeremy Macklin. Remember Jeremy Macklin for a time, Like,
I think the downside is if he turns into Nelson Aguilar,
which could happen, But the upside is of the macklus situation.

Speaker 3 (11:01):
But I think you know this team is looking for
a passing identity. We know the identity of this offense
is to run the ball. Josh Jacobs obviously is going
to be the main guy there. Tucker Craft's on the
field a bunch. I love Tucker Craft for this year
as well. He's guaranteed to be on the field where
this wide receiver corps is not. But I think when
you invest the first round pick and a guy like this,
he's going to add so much juice and he improves

(11:24):
this contested catch number last year at Texas as well.
I just think this guy keeps getting better at each stop,
and I think he's going to be awesome in Green
Bay this year and has potential to be a number
one wide out for them right.

Speaker 1 (11:34):
Now, especially if Jordan Love is healthy this year. I
think the Jordan Love health was just not there. It
was not there from Week one, at the end of
that game, all the way through the whole year. All right,
one more guy here on each of the lists here
for Jake and for Scott, and this one's going to
be a little bit deeper outside that top one hundred
here and oh my goodness, my eyes deceive me, Jake.
Seely note two Patriots we're going to talk about. Let's go.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
We actually talked about him on the mock draft that
we guys did together and with Welsh somebody who just
hates life apparently. But as a call out to that show,
I will say the Kyle Williams thing is to go
back to the draft. This is how things can change,
and I think there's opportunity to change even within a
short span. Is I likened him to kind of like
Mark wez Valdez Scantleing or Zay Jones, where like big

(12:18):
deep threat hasn't shown what I want to see from
zone coverage beating that yet, but he's already shown flashes
and there's already been talk of the team and the
fact that he's doing more than what we just saw
in college. And that's why I will adjust some of
my evaluations after seeing them with the team. And I
look at this team and I say, who can be
the number one washed up Stefan Diggs who we're hoping

(12:39):
he's one hundred percent healthy. I think he's more of
a potential number two, kind of similar to like Shakir
with the Bills at this point, to go back to
his Bills days even but I think that's the range
of him where if I'm going to shoot for upside
at the end of the draft, and somebody who could
take off on this team who has a big downfield
threat and is already showing rapport with may to hit
the intermediate, which that's the area of his game that
I think is lacking. If he adds that and he

(13:02):
becomes even the number two and Digs is the one,
and the number two for a free pick who could
put up top thirty six value. I have him wide
receiver forty nine, one hundred and eleventh overall, again one
hundred and eleventh, but he's going outside the top one
fifty Joe, which is just insane.

Speaker 1 (13:16):
Yeah. Look, he creates separation two from the corners. That's
an important thing. You got to win there. Bogman, you're
a last guy. And it's funny because the one you're
going to talk about, it's not very often you have
a quarterback go number one overall when we're not just
kind of falling over ourselves to draft him. I almost
feel like.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
I thought about him and then I saw a box list.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
You know what's funny is I almost picked Kyle Willie.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
But it's kind of crazy. Weh you think about it, right,
you know? Cam Ward number one overall, and yet we're
all just kind of like, Okay, yeah, great, And I
understand Tennessee is not exactly a hotbed of developing quarterback play.
But at the same time, especially in super flex leagues,
like this is a guy that has at least potential.
Certainly a serious kid, very committed, He's got some talent,
he's got some stats. So cam Ward, let's talk about

(13:57):
him box and how he could impact fantasy seasons in
twenty twenty five.

Speaker 3 (14:00):
Yeah, I'm going out of a lot of limbs, right,
I have two guys drafts inside the top five here, but.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
Look, but going well outside the top one, fid.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
That Travis Hunter kind might be good? Lookout?

Speaker 3 (14:10):
Yeah, that's right, that's right. Look out everybody. These players
are good. Look cam Ward has already been in three
different situations in five seasons in college, right incarnate word,
Washington State, and then Miami, and he improved at each level.
Got you know, he improved his play at Washington State obviously,
jumped up a huge level at that point, and then

(14:32):
going from you know, what was left of the Pac
twelve to the ACC was a huge jump and he
was awesome. Last season in college he led the country
in all kinds of different stats. He led the nation
in passing touchdowns tenth, at completion percentage second, passing yards
fourth and big time throw percentage of PFFS. That second

(14:54):
deep ball pass grade from PFFS, well, he was so good.
And also, you know they passed the ball deep a
lot in Tennessee last season. Calvin Ridley, one of your
better deep ball wide receivers, pairs perfectly there. They added
Ristreppo who wasn't even good enough to be drafted, and
cam Ward made him look like a draft pick last season.

(15:14):
They have talented the tight end position. Both of the
running backs can catch, and they fix this O line
in the offseason and the defense sucks. So it's the
same situation that they're in in Carolina right where it's
Bryce Young and Ted McMillan and they should be passing
the ball a lot. I think we're going to see
a lot of the same from Tennessee as well, because
the offense is light years ahead of the defense right now.
So I feel like cam Ward is in the cat

(15:37):
bird seat. There's no one pushing him at all. Will
Levis just had surgery and is out for the year,
So I think cam Ward is the guy he is,
you know him and Jens, who we both don't talk
about because they're almost taking his guarantees. No one was
a number one overall Pick one is already like a
first borderline first rounder in genty, so I don't talk
about them that much. So I just wanted to take
this time. Like you said, Joey, we don't talk about

(15:59):
the number one overall pick a bunch. Now, maybe we
should a little bit more.

Speaker 1 (16:02):
Mary go who is your rookie that you think is
going to win a fantasy league for somebody this year?
Drop those names below, because when you do, you could
win yourself a James Cook Jersey. When you subscribe to
Fantasy Pros. We're trying to get the three hundred thousand
this year. Ring the belt to Lickos dang like this video.
That's all you gotta do in that James Cook Jersey
can be yours great stuff as always from my two
friends here. That'll do it for us. But the story

(16:22):
of the game goes on for Jake and Bogman. I'm
Joey P. We'll see you next time. Kids.
