Speaker 1 (00:01):
It is Fantasy Bros.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
Basketball Show with myself, Tom Strack and Andrew Erickson. We
are back for another week of drafting. Tonight we will
be drafting in Underdogs Puppy but super Flex contest. So
if you like super Flex, you like bestball, this is
the show for us. Andrew flexing away there left yourself
on mute, but we'll forgive him for that at the
top of the show. But Andrew, before we get to
the drafting on this very fine Monday evening for me,
(00:24):
afternoon for yourself, we've got to talk about the trade
that went down in the NFL today. This is the
dead zone in NFL time, Like very rarely do we
get much. We get the odd contract extension. Maybe you
might see somebody traded for a conditional fifth or sixth rounder.
But today Jalen Ramsey John hu Smith traded from the
(00:44):
Dolphins along with a seventh round pick to the Steelers
for Minka Fitzpatrick and a fifth round pick. What were
your initial thoughts when this went down?
Speaker 1 (00:55):
Arthur Smith always gets his guy. That was my initial thing.
Just reuniting the two players or this coach and player
combination we've seen. This is how I believe the third
team that Arthur Smith has had, the Jonas Smith, the
privilege of having him as one of his offensive weapons
that he's going to deploy. I think for fantasy at
(01:15):
least gives us confirmation about, Okay, we now know what JOHNA. Smith?
Which team's on? Right? That was a question I think
we talked about last week. We weren't sure are these
trade rumors legit? And it does kind of make me
maybe some red flags when it comes to Mike McDaniel
in terms of his reach and his control of the
Dolphins roster, because it seemed like he wanted to keep Johnny.
He kept saying on that, Yeah, he wanted to keep
(01:38):
john who but the team was, no, we want to
trade john because we don't want to pay him more money,
so we're gonna trade him. And they traded him. So
does that mean there's a power struggle potentially with Mike McDaniel,
like how much of the roster does he have control of?
So I think that was kind of interesting and eye opening,
and I think for me again, I'm looking more of
the I think the Steelers thing, it's kind of a
mess now, a lot of tight ends now there Pat
(01:58):
Fairemuth is no slout, So I think that's kind of
concerning for Johnny Smith's value, even if he's the number
two behind DK Metcalf. But if anything, it makes me
more confident about Jayalen Wattle just having a better role
in this offense because you're taking a guy that was
integral to the Miami Dolphins office at twenty twenty four.
He is now completely removed, and I feel much better
about clitting the button on Jalen Waddle. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
Absolutely. I mean we've both kind of been quite high
on Jalen Waddle. Johnny Smith was somebody we talked about
in our Rise and Falls episode last week. He was
down eighteen spots in ADP. I think now we're going
to see the bottom crater out on that because now
you've got two tight ends in John new Smith and
Pat Fryer who essentially are gonna just they're going to
(02:42):
cannibalize each other. Maybe the Steelers play a lot of
too tight end personnel, maybe John who gets used to
that kind of wild card Taysom Hill light role. But
I don't think it's going to be anywhere near as
valuable as last season because last season for John new
Smith was so much of an out when you compare
his eight year career, the idea that just because he's
(03:05):
reuniting with Arthur Smith is going to be great for him.
It's not like before last season Johnny Smith had never
had more than fifty receptions that jumped up to eighty eight.
He'd never had over six hundred yards. He hit eight
hundred and eighty four. He'd only had one overseason where
he'd gone over four touchdowns. So yeah, I think we're
going to see Johnny Smith revert type. Pat Fryer Moffe
felt like a bit of a bargain if nobody else
(03:27):
came in, now is crushed, and ultimately I'd just become
more and more enamored with the Dolphins, who we've kind
of talked about in the past, like Storm Duck is
now their top cornerback after losing Jalen Ramsey. I don't
think that there's particularly anybody on the free agency market
that they'll be rushing to bring in to replace him.
And so much of Miami's moves kind of made because
(03:50):
they got himself into this weird situation with their roster
with very little cap space, with all these veterans who
are kind of a good the bad sort of situations.
Tyreek Kill getting older and I just really struggle with them.
But I know I won't exposure of a passing game
because I think this defense is going to give up
so many points per week.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
I agree. I think that we're going to go back
to two guys as the featured pieces in this offense.
And I think it's a matter of if you're a
fantasy drafter, picking your flavor of a chan Terry Kill
and Jayla Wattle. Now I think Waddle to me is
just he's the easy click because he's the cheapest guy
and we've seen him when he's healthy. In this offense,
(04:31):
he's super efficient and removing Smith from the equation, it
honestly makes me feel lot better about eight Chan, just
because any underneath targets, I know where it's going, like
it's going to a Chan and maybe they mix in.
I'm Alik Washington. Maybe you know I threw it out
on X Kyle Pitts is looking at that Dolphin's depth
chart at the tight end and thinking, oh, maybe I
can make some noise over there. But I do think
(04:54):
that I feel better about the top guys, and look,
I'm fading Tyreek kill. But this doesn't make me feel
good about that necessarily, because you know he's going to
get opportunities in the offense, and if he is healthy,
he's back to what we've seen him do at his peak. Well,
then I'm going to get burned. But I'm just going
to push my chips in on the younger players a
Chan and Waddle. And the Dolphins schedule does open up,
(05:14):
I think it's pretty favorable to start the year. I
believe they play the Colts in Week one and that's
a matchup where, hey, you could see Miami's offense kind
of got off to a good start. So we'll see
how things shake out.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
Yeah, should we jump into these the super flex puppy
and see how long that takes to Oh he wants
to We're in, We're in, We're in, and we're one
oh seven. Okay, So the a Chan thing, like last year,
he had eighty seven targets last year, like for a
running back that was already immense. He had a touch
(05:47):
share of like close to fifteen percent, which led all
running backs. I think, off the top of my head,
he was fantastic in that area of the game. The
ceiling for him really could be really high. Now Raheem
most and Jeff Wilson out there like he's a guy
that over the last few weeks have kind of come
round more and more on and now I think that
we see Raheem Moster probably getting sorry, you see Devin
(06:11):
a Chat probably getting into round one of redraft leagues
by the time that people start drafting them in a
few weeks time.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
I would agree with that. I think that the easy
selling point with a guy like a Chan is just
the fact that when you look at the splits last
year with Tua, he was he was RB one, especially
in those full PPR formats where he's going to catch
a lot of passes, and he's a guy who can
win in multiple ways. I think that's something that I
always look for in running backs. If you're explosive, if
you can catch passes, those are the boxes you're looking
(06:39):
to check.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
Yeah, okay, so we're a few picks away. Obviously, this
being super flex, we're going to see a run on
quarterbacks to start things off. By the time he gets
down to us around the seventh pick, we're looking at
jama Cha, Saquon Barkley, be Jon Robinson, Patrick Mahomes, just
and Jefferson typically in that range. Andrew, what's like or
super flex mindset? Are you really trying to get a
(07:02):
quarterback as much as possible in these first in the first.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
Round, Yes, very much so. And the fact that we're
picking seventh makes me very nervous because it's a really
bad spot to pick for the quarterbacks.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
Yeah, it's it's not ideal. Really, We've got Jama Chase
Sake one back to the Beach and Robins. I think
it's clearly say their highest ceiling players than Patrick Mahomes.
My leen here would be Jamar Chase. I don't know
about yours.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
Andrew, Nope, he is my guy too. Let's let's take
him and see how things shake out with UH with quarterbacks.
I do think when I was thinking about this before
we I know we were going to do this specific draft.
You know, Underdog is usually very thirsty for wide receivers.
This is a format where you don't necessarily have to
draft a lot of receivers because you only have to
start two wide receivers every single week, So figuring out
(07:51):
which position you have to start every week and change
your strategy a lot. And you know, quarterbacks, especially in
half PPR they score a lot of points versus the field.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
Yeah, definitely, And if Jamar Chase has been gone, then
it becomes easier to kind of say, maybe we should
be pulling a quarterback up. But like Jamar Chase scores
like quarterback so often, doesn't he like he's so good.
All the points you made kind of this time last
year about why Jamar Chase could be the wide receiver
one overall came a fruition generally, though in super Flex,
(08:23):
my mindset is, but I don't want to get left
too far behind, like you know, whereas in single QB
best Ball, we've built some pretty pretty nice zero RB
teams between us before in the past. But in super Flex,
if you fade one position, unless it's a tight end
where I'm always kind of fine punting tight end, it
can be really hard to catch up and really hard
(08:44):
to feel like you've got a nice roster because of it. Afterwards,
We're starting to see with dire like with Baker Mayfield
range Bonix goes at the two oh three, We've got
a couple of picks till it's on towards Ashton Gentry,
Derek Henry both off board. I mean, we could end
up here with Justin Jefferson and Jamar Chase, which feels
kind of wrong. For quarterbacks in this range are just
(09:07):
In Fields, Caleb Williams and Brot Perdy Andrew any strong
vibe on where we go here.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
And I feel like we really do need to take
a quarterback to be honest, but I'd be fair if
you want to experiment with Jefferson, Well it's Jefferson or Fields.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
I'll let you choose.
Speaker 1 (09:28):
Four seconds, Let's go Jefferson. Let's go Jefferson and see
if we can do a see now we can we
don't have to look at receiver for a long time
to kind of see how we can build this team. Yeah,
we'll see how it shakes out.
Speaker 2 (09:44):
Yeah, absolutely. I mean twenty rounds on the super Flex
contest over here on Underdog compared to the normal drafts
whether eighteen rounds, So we do have those extra two
rounds to play with, and we can go with volume approach.
Heare and say we're need four quarterbacks and a couple
of o's might be quite dusty choices. We might be
looking at guys like Daniel Jones and Jackson Dart and
(10:06):
trying to Frankenstein together enough quarterback starts, but it matters.
But the incredible upside of Jamar Chase and Justin Jefferson
is one that it just feels wrong to turn that down.
Shout out to Jerry Nelson, Jerry in the chat with us,
like most weeks, really appreciate you being here with us tonight.
We are drafting in the twenty second clock tonight rather
(10:27):
than the thirty second clock. So this draft, it's going
to rattle along at a nice pace. We are through
the end of the second round. Now Caleb Williams does
go off the board, Brot Perdyville, Jared Goff, Drake May,
Just and Herbert Jordan Love j J. McCarthy all still
there in ADP. So we've got a couple more picks
before this makes it back to us. And I feel
okay about the fact that we push quarterback Andrew.
Speaker 1 (10:49):
Yeah, looking at the board now, it's okay. We're not
maybe totally screwed. Maybe we can get somebody decent that's
not a total dustball. And this is kind of the
breakout where there's a lot of quarterbacks again, more pocket passers,
where maybe we're not crazy about their individual upside, but
we hit on a couple of pocket passers that hit
on those outlier touchdown efficiency seasons. You know, I could
(11:11):
see a Brock party having a Baker Mayfield type of
touchdown rate, especially in this forty nine ers offense. So
I know he's he just went, But is there anyone
that's catching here? I know, I like Jordan Love a
decent amount to bounce back. That Packers defense I think
is really bad, and obviously McCarthy because we have that
stack with Jefferson.
Speaker 2 (11:30):
Yeah, I think I think I'd be okay just going
with whichever quarterback you have got instinct on being the
best with. I would probably just lean slightly at JJ
mccarfey because of the stack. But if you feel stronger
about Jordan Love, I'm okay with that because we can
backstack him.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
Yeah, let's go with Jordan Love, and maybe we can
see if maybe McCarthy doesn't get as much I mean
the superflex, maybe he doesn't get as much love coming back.
Maybe I will see a thing and made its quarterback.
So but I just man Packer's defense. I think one
of is gonna throw a lot this year.
Speaker 2 (12:04):
Yeah, And I think that we could be fairly confident
that out of Jared Goff, JJ McCarthy, Trevor R and C. J.
Stroud on Michael Pennicks. One of those should be coming
back around to us, And as long as we get
one of those guys, I won't feel too bad about
having pushed this. Otherwise it's probably a case of pushing
quarterback again and then loading up in volume because guys
(12:25):
like Brian Thomas, Drake London brought Bauers, Bucky Irving, Jonathan Taylor,
A J. Brown, Lad McConkie. To push those guys would
feel would feel slightly wrong in my opinion. Shout out
to Mickey de Joins in a chat as well. Let
us know which platform you want us to be drafting
on overcoming weeks, because we've got plenty more drafts to come. Andrew,
(12:46):
did you come into this expecting us to fade quarterback
to the third round? No?
Speaker 1 (12:50):
Because I usually think that in super flex, if you
don't take a quarterback or you wait too long, you
basically pay the rake and you just you just draft
a team I can't compete, and this would be beyond
best ball in standard super flex leagues. If you just
wait too long, sometimes it's just really hard to combat it.
Now maybe you can get lucky with some of these
other guys later on. I usually tried at least get
(13:12):
one quarterback within those first two picks, because again, elite
quarterbacks still score the most points, whether it's Superflex or
a regular league, especially in the half PPR setting. So
they're so critical it's really hard to fade them. But
the fact that we got who we got so far
with Jordan Love and it seems like we're going to
get Trevor Lawrence, a Stroud, a Pennix like I like
these guys, So I'm liking how the setup is going
(13:33):
so far.
Speaker 2 (13:34):
Yeah, we are three picks away Trevor Lawrence, see you Stroud,
Michael Pennix, Bryce Young, Matthew Stafford to a little further down.
Be interested to see how much his ADP changes if
people start to push the skill position players up Andrew
two picks away. Who do you want?
Speaker 1 (13:49):
I want Stroud? If you don't want him, I'm cool
with a Pennock or do you have a preference If
it's not Stroud, it's probably between Stroud and Penix.
Speaker 2 (13:56):
For me, I'd lean toward Stroud because of Bi Weeks.
We don't want Pennix and John Love on the BIE
at the same time. So let's do that because it
feels like we might end up struggling a little bit
to round out our quarterback room. So I'm kind of
fine with that. We've got a question in the chat
(14:17):
from Jerry Nelson. Jerry, does Pits of any value if
he goes to Miami change scenery, he might help him.
I mean he could do. Like, this is a guy
who had one of the best rookie tight end seasons
we've ever seen, but then it's all been down from
there because of injuries, had to deal with Arfur Smith. Like,
let's not forget we all rag on Arfur Smith, but
like we don't seem to give cal Pitts any credit
(14:39):
for him. And over the first couple of months last year,
it didn't look too bad. It looked kind of like fine, Really, Andrew,
do you think that with someone like Mike McDaniel a
creative schema that it could unlock cal Pitts eventually?
Speaker 1 (14:52):
Anywhere by Atlanta is a positive landing sp Africa bits.
I'm convinced that this is just not the team that
needs to be on in It's not like he would
be the first tight end to not hit on his
first team that drafted him. He goes to another Johnny
Smith right he was with the Titans, didn't do a lot.
He flashed a little bit in Atlanta, he actually played more.
(15:12):
We were ridiculing Arthur Smith for playing jonnys with over
Kyle Pits and ended up being like, oh, Jonas was
actually not that bad. So I think, yes, I know
we get in patient, especially some of these rookie Titans
hitting right away, but some of them do take one
or to develop, and Pitts has had a couple injuries,
so I think that he needs a fresh start, and
I think Miami could honestly be good for him.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
Titans just do take longer to develop, sometimes several times
as you've mentioned. And I'm kind of fine taking him.
Where's ADPs in regular single QB best ball over the weekend?
That was on a show with somebody else, And I
think we got him in round fifteen, Like that's that's
kind of hard to fade at that point when we
(15:52):
just know that even if he gets five touchdowns and
six seven hundred yards, that's you know, potential twelve range.
So we've got two picks before our next one. The
kind of quarterbacks are starting to get really thin. But
I feel like, you know, we've got some more interesting
(16:14):
options for two of you. You've start George kill and
Kenneth Walker. I would love either of those, Andrew that
both guys that I'm drafting plenty of. So which one
do you feel the strongest pull towards.
Speaker 1 (16:27):
Let's go with Let's say George Kittle Becauseken Walker his
ADP's a little bit lower, so maybe he could fall back.
Let's get this elite tight end on a week to
week basis, And and I don't know, this is something
I was thinking about when we were getting ready for
this show about I really wanted to see if we
could push receiver very very far down this list because
(16:49):
you don't need to draft a lot of them necessarily.
And we have arguably the two best receivers between Jamar
Chase and Justin Jefferson. So can we get away with
four five receivers?
Speaker 2 (17:01):
Well it's still twenty rounds? Yeah, I mean we can definitely.
You know, something we've talked a lot about a few
weeks ago, was talking about best post strategies and what
can and what we feel maybe won't work this year.
And one of the big takeaways I have when we
had that conversation is but all these kind of strategies,
I want to try and bend them. I want to
(17:22):
try and mold them into different strategies. And whether that's
zero RB pushing things to an even more extreme level,
or hero are be waiting longer than usual, not just
taking a hero are being round one or two, but saying, Okay,
I think somebody like Josh Jacobs in round three, if
I can get him there, or Reese hauling round four,
(17:43):
can be a hero RB. Let me build a hero
RB lineup with those principles of just one running back
in the first seven rounds or so, but taking my
running back at a different point. So here this is
kind of the dual running back strategy, which did well
for a period, but instead with wide receivers, we're saying
the wide receivers now have the upside of running backs,
(18:04):
but yeah, we need to leave them alone long enough
to fill out other positions and make sure that we
have a roster full with upside and then work out
when the appropriate time to get back to wide receiver is.
But like, we're in round six and there are still
plenty of nice names on the board, Terry McLaurin and
Marion Hampton, Jackson Smith and Jigber, Mike Evans, Tuber Howard
(18:25):
Kenneth Walker, who obviously we have already talked about, but
even down to Tech McMillan, a guy who was drafted
as the first pure wide receiver off the board. I
just love super flex. I love when we get into
these parts. We are two picks away, Andrew, do you
feel like we need to take running back here or
(18:45):
like to be able to push wide receiver or do
you feel like a guy like Mike Evans or Tet
McMillan would just really cherry on top.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
Well, I think Tech mcmill could have been cherry on top,
but that cherry's now gone. So we're gonna go with
with ken Walker, who It's always nice when a guy
you're considering to draft around earlier falls to you around later.
That's one of the benefits when you're picking in the
middle that sometimes you're contemplating a certain player and then
they fought you and you feel like, man, I made
(19:17):
the right choice. I didn't reach So I think ken
Walker there, I think he can be and ken Walker's healthy,
he's here, He's a here Arby. It's just a matter
of Okay, how many games does he play? And then
we can have the conversation about do we draft Zach Sharbonay,
do we not draft Zach Sharboney If we feel really
strongly about him as a handcuff and if he can
be an army one when Walker miss his time, I
think that makes him worth it. But I know that
(19:39):
others think differently, you know, specifically with handcuffs, and I
think that every situation is a little bit different.
Speaker 2 (19:45):
Yeah, I mean he's somebody we've talked about a few times.
I'm very high and Ken Walker as well. And that's
what we're going to be doing on v shows. We're
going to be talking each and every Monday, helping you
dominate you Best Ball drafts awesome along on the Best
Ball Show Here on Fantasy Pros. We are live on Twitch,
Twitch dot tv forward Slash Fantasy Pros every Monday, every
alternative week. We're in drafts every other week. Will be
(20:08):
diving into strategy, stacked sleepers, so much more of it.
We've got so many good topics, so many talking points.
Every Monday at four pm Eastern on Twitch, myself and
Andrew ericson here to help you win dig in twenty
twenty five, Andrew, these drafts are running through very quickly
with the twenty second clock. Are you starting to enjoy
(20:28):
the twenty second clock in these draft swords? It feels
still a little too crazy.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
I mean when you're having to be at the control
command and the twenty seconds, it's it's hot here and
I'm speading even more because of the of the twenty
second clock. So credit to you, Tom. That makes it
look so easy. Draft eight and podcasting at the same time,
and streaming because I have I've improved, I think, but
it's it's definitely a challenge. I'm still trying to get
(20:54):
better at.
Speaker 2 (20:54):
Yeah, if it could be slightly cooler here, even in England,
is I'm dying Jaalen Waddle. Let's take Jaalen Waddle and
just slam that in because that feels like an adp
of that is going to rise drastically. I know we
are getting him at ninety two, and I know this
contest is nearly full, but I feel like the last
twenty five thousand people or so who drafted this contest
(21:17):
are going to start pulling Jaalen Waddle up because everybody's
clear takeaway on Twitter today and in the discords I'm
in seem to be Now's the time to go out
and start aggressively targeting Jalen Model and we want plenty
of Jailen Moddle. This contest is almost full. There's only
twenty five thousand spots out of like two hundred and
twenty five thousand total entries, but that's not going to
(21:40):
stop me from taking Waddle here or US one hundred
grand up top. We want to win that one hundred grand.
And with a wide receiver room we've got, with a
quarterback room we've got and the running back that we've
got in Kenneth Walker, I feel like all we need
is one or two dark frows at quarterback and then
to start building out the running back in a range
(22:00):
where we're still seeing David Montgomery, DeAndre Swift, quinch On Junkins,
Caleb Johnson, and Isaiah Pacheco. We got plenty of choices
we do.
Speaker 1 (22:09):
And I know Anthony Richardson is coming up his ADP.
How are we feeling about him? Easy to backstack because
you can get a lot of Colts players late. We
can get our guy Tyler Warren. Potential is another tight end.
He got taken already, so it doesn't matter, but I
would have considered it. Bridges' interview is still there.
Speaker 2 (22:28):
Yeah, could you just go to a QB tab and
let's kind of appraise what we can still do a quarterback.
So we've got Tyler Shuck, Jackson Dart. I feel like
we've probably got to take one of them here unless
we really fade the position entirely.
Speaker 1 (22:46):
Tyler Shuck Man. Oh god, well, let's.
Speaker 2 (22:50):
Take Tyler Shuck. Well, let's take Tyler Shuck because then
we can afford to really wait on the Dart Fron.
We can look at somebody like Shudeur Sanders, or we
can look at Russell Wilson, these kind of guys where
maybe we don't even need to get to four with
that situation. I mean, look, we need Joe to love
and we need CJ. Stroud to pay off. Let's start
(23:10):
hammering the running back position because we do only have
what one and we're at the back end of round
eight right now. We don't want to push that too
far because there will be some super teams in this
contest who we built through the wide receiver fade in
the quarterback position. There will be some who got some
incredible combinations of running backs as well.
Speaker 1 (23:31):
Yeah, that is true. But at the same time, this
is a draft class, this is a player pool that
there are so many late round running backs that I
absolutely adore that we can find. Whether it's the Jordan
Mason's who is a guy that's coming up here, we
have justin Jefferson. So if this Vikings offense cooks, okay,
Now we have the touchdowns, and I think it's really
important to note again this is half PPR, So running
(23:54):
backs that score touchdowns that have red zone equity score
a lot of points, and quarterbacks score a lot of
points in the half peace we are setting. So I
think that right now we can go on a potential
running back run of sorts and just continue to pound
away at the position because I mean, we're gonna need
None of these receivers are going to outscore our top
three dogs. This is not gonna happen unless it's a
(24:14):
bye week.
Speaker 2 (24:16):
And normally we'd be approaching the area in the draft
where you see just a glut of quarterbacks go off
the board, and that's an area where you seem to
need quite often unless you've gone with an elite quarterback.
You feel the need to take one two quarterbacks before
pick one hundred and forty because there's just some really
good options there. But we I'm fine with Jordan Mason.
I know that's where you want to go with this one,
(24:37):
so bo, yes, instead of that, we're going to see
a glut of tight ends. That range will still be
fruitful for them, but what we'll also see is wide receivers,
running backs, and it will just be an area where
every time the draft falls to was there should be
good options who we like. So I'm look, I mean,
(24:57):
Tyler Schuck isn't somebody want anything to do with in
single QB best ball And the same can be said
for Anthony Richardson. But through this point in the draft
when we're we've made nine selections, so Jordan Love, CJ. Stroud,
Tyler Schuck, Kenneth Walker, Jordan Mason, and then a wide
receiver room of Jama Chase, Justin Jefferson and Jayleen Waddle
(25:17):
and then George Kill Like, we are stacked with Pro
Bowl level players and I know Pro Bowl's but a
bit of a joke, but visa players who've played for
kind of highest caliber and guys who can win big
in Best Ball. So the running backs we got coming up.
I put a video out last week on my channel,
Fantasy Sanctuary talking about like the ten most important backup
(25:40):
running backs, and we are really going to live in
that range. Now. Zach Charboney is somebody I love, but
I think we could possibly push him a little bit.
Do you like Jalen Warren much more than Zach Charboney.
I mean, obviously we've got Kenneth Walker, so it might
be a little finn to take Sharbney and Walker when
(26:01):
we've not really paid much attention to running back room.
Speaker 1 (26:04):
I think I want Sharponey. I just want to lock
in that we get Seattle Seahawks running back one production,
regardless of it's Ken Walker or of its sharbon A,
and I don't mind overpaying a little bit for it.
I mean, he could have maybe fallen back to us,
he's a running back. But we're at a point in
(26:24):
the draft too where I mean, we're just taking shots
on all these running backs. We're gonna have a plethora
of running backs to work from, and the fact that
we can at least feel confident that, okay, one of
our RB one spots is going to be Ken Walker
slash Zack Sharboney every single week besides their bye week.
Speaker 2 (26:42):
Yeah, I don't. I don't hate it. I think like
I mean, I love Charbnay, I love Ken Walker. I
think there's something to be said investmaal to capping your
ceiling outcomes. But if we saw the Seahawks last year
version of the offense but Mike McDonald didn't want that
(27:02):
seemed abundanly obviously, the way they fired the offensive coordinator
and a grub after one season, they got rid of
dk Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, they seem to be wanting
to be run heavy. Now, if we got some version
of David Montgomery, Jimier Gibbs as Zach Sharbonay and Kenneth Walker,
then all of a sudden, you go from maybe this
isn't capped at one can perform each week. Maybe there
(27:23):
are going to be weeks where we get both of
them performing to a high level. I'm not saying that's
something I'm necessarily counting on, but I think that anytime
you get a new offensive coordinator, anytime you've got two
incredibly talented running backs, I'm willing to make bets on them.
And because it's something that I haven't done yet this offseason.
(27:44):
I like the idea of seeing how it plays out.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
Yeah, And you know, sometimes if you're thinking about getting unique,
whether let's say Ken Walker blows up Week fifteen but
gets hurt and then it's Zach Sharbonnay, that's the guy
that you needed in week sixteen, and you look at
the advance rates, you know how many people are paring
Walker and Sharbony Like those are the questions, And I
guess for me, it's like I feel confident enough with
Sharbonay that he is the handcuff that he can deliver
when called upon, whereas that's not always the case with
(28:08):
a lot of these. So we are back on the
clock here. I have Rashad White in the queue.
Speaker 2 (28:12):
Yeah, I love Bye. I just think that he's so
undervalued compared to like Bucky Wig drafting him probably at
his ceiling, whereas fore by I know he's more valuable
in a full PPR setting. But like Rochelle White is
a really good pass protector. The books they they've played
(28:33):
fast and we've got a change of offensive coordinator. Receive
him put up a lot of plays per year, and
I think that Michelle White is going to have a
valuable role this year.
Speaker 1 (28:42):
Yeah, you know, I was thinking about the Bucks offense
and specifically to Baker Mayfield and what I was thinking about,
and it was a stat that somebody had brought up
on social media a couple of years ago, and it
was about, how look at the running backs that Baker
Mayfield has played with for fantasy purposes. How many times
with Cleveland where we're drafting Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt
(29:03):
Every single year we're drafting both of these running backs
because they may feel that maybe it's his play style,
but for some reason, he always facilitates really productive running
backs and fantasy to the extent of two guys eating
in the offense. So it is he hunts now to
Baker Mayfield, and maybe Baker Mayfield doesn't run as much.
I think we're shod way again. You have the upside
(29:24):
of a bucket irving injury. Rashard White already showed that
he could be in RB one when he gets volume
and worst case scenario with negative game scripts, he can
catch passes and that's when he's going to hit our
lineup as our RB two. So I agree with you.
I think that he's it's kind of gone too far
in one direction, where Rashard White last year again obviously
a major bust this year now he's been overly penalized
(29:45):
for what his actual value is.
Speaker 2 (29:48):
Moving back to the draft board before we kind of
come back on the clock. We've got four running backs now,
so we're probably not in drastic need of him towards
the top though, and hesitance say his name before we
get sniped. But Jaden Higgins is sitting right there. Do
we want to take Jaden Higgins for the CJ. Stroud stack?
Speaker 1 (30:07):
I would do it, but I like that I'd rather
have the Tucker Craft stack with Jordon Love.
Speaker 2 (30:12):
Okay, well, let's take Tucker Craft as our tight end two,
and I think we can probably we might be able
to leave tight end at two in this build and
then maybe just spend another dart throw on another QB
if we need it rather, and also just make sure
running back room is really stacked out. Johnny Smith is
now top of ADP. His ADP was one hundred and thirty.
(30:33):
If we're at pick one forty two already, I would
expect Johnny Smith is going to sit there for a
good fifteen to twenty picks or until somebody or drafts
him at this point, Trey Benson his next running back
you've starred. Is there anybody wide receiver wise that you
would make a strong argument for our boy with share
Bateman is sitting there Obviously, I'm kind of obviously I
(30:57):
like Mishard Bateman, but looking for a profile of wide
receiver now that is gonna give us weeks that can
exceed Jama Chase, just In Jefferson, Jalen Waddle, aren't we
So it becomes a little bit of hunting for ceiling,
hunting for stacks. Keon Coleman somebody I know fits he
is very high on anybody else that you would push for,
(31:19):
as we've got about three picks before us.
Speaker 1 (31:21):
I do like Keon Coleman from the breakout perspective. I
think that he's a boom or bus where he could
be a total nothing, but based on our build, I
think it's almost easier or we can survive that a
little bit more. Where we're shot Baitman, we kind of
he has occasual spike weeks. He probably needs an injury
to really unlock his ceiling, although I do think that
he's good. Tank Bigsby's also there, so do you not
(31:43):
want to go with another running back here? I still
like going to the position but there's not anyone like
right on the board that's like calling out to me. Necessarily,
Double's a little bit downwards. We could probably wait for him.
A couple other guys we could wait on, So I
don't mind receiver here.
Speaker 2 (31:57):
Yeah, I think I'd leave towards one of the top
wide receivers that we've got there between Well, Bayman goes,
so let's take Keon Coleman and just begs for play
well player being Yeah, good offense and hopefully it develops.
What we haven't seen from the Bills is bringing in
(32:18):
any kind of top tier wide receiver talent. I know
that Josh Palmer's got his fans, but for me, it's
not quite there. Really. He's the kind of player that
I know a lot of people are putting into kind
of deep sleeper stuff, but I'm just I'm not aggressively
pursuing him. If you want to find out more of
the guys who me and Andrew absu Hi and you should
(32:39):
be checking out the Fantasy Pros Best Ball Kit. It's
live over at fantasypros dot com. Forward Slash Best Ball
you get expert rankings, stack analysis, rookie breakdowns, adp rises,
roster construction strategies, so much roster construction strategies. I've absolutely
loved writing all those this offseason, and our Best Ball
Draft kit is everything you need to draft and win
(33:00):
big in best Ball season this year. Andrew, how we
feeling we've got a few picks before as you feel
like we recovered from ignoring the running back position early on.
Speaker 1 (33:12):
Yeah, I'd like our running backs a decent amount. I
think that Mason has touchdown upside. For Shad White we
talked about, he's got injury upside. He catches passes out
of the backfield, plays in a good offense. So I'm
liking this team so far I think of it. We
have a lot of touchdown potential, especially with our tight ends,
I mean, Kittle and Craft. We got the number one
and number two most explosive tight ends from last season,
(33:34):
so we could be in a situation where not only
Or is our tight end one slot filled, but Tuck
our Craft rips off an eighty R touchdown catch and run.
That dude's in our flex one of these weeks. So
that's something that shouldn't be underlooked either as well, just
specifically based on the tight ends that we drafted big
play guys with big weeks as opposed to the PPR guys.
Speaker 2 (33:55):
Yeah, and I think one thing that's really working our
favor on this team is to buy weeks of line
really nicely for us. Apart from the Seahawks duo, everything
sits well. My lean here is towards Marshall Lloyd. Just
prefer him over Rico Dawdle straight up. But if you
want Rico got five seconds.
Speaker 1 (34:14):
That's fine, We'll take Marshall Lloyd.
Speaker 2 (34:17):
I just, you know, like a lot of the time
stacking his viewed as quarterback, wide receiver, quarterback tight end,
but quarterback running back has some level of correlation. If
the team and the offense is scoring plenty of points spent, generally,
the players are going to be scoring lots of points.
And there's a good piece in The Athletic recently talking
about how the team views Marshall on Lloyd as somebody
(34:38):
who could be potentially their secret weapon this year. I
drafted a lot of marsha On Lloyd last year. Maybe
I'm just ready to be wrong on him again, But
I don't feel like the price is bad.
Speaker 1 (34:48):
Now. His biggest concern has been the injuries. Even in college,
he didn't necessarily have this massive workload. But if he
can be out, I mean, we only played very small
amounts last year, but he did look pretty good when
he got the opportunities. He's a guy that can break tackles.
He's very talented. And the fact that they're already talking
him up from a guy with a very small sample size,
(35:10):
I think that that is meaning a little bit. So
Packer Stack, I agree with the pick here. Maybe it
was a little bit of a reach where we picked
him ahead of ADP, but this is a contest is
going to close anyway. So hey, let's get our guys,
guys that we want not so concerned with, especially in
this part of the draft.
Speaker 2 (35:27):
Yeah, once you get past round fifteen, I'm just not
too concerned. I'm more just looking at like, what can
we create. I can see you've start Jalen Milroe, but
you haven't started Shudeo Sanders, who's for close quarterback in ADP.
What is the reason videre out on sand this.
Speaker 1 (35:45):
Well, one of them got drafted in round three and
his name was not Sar Sanders. So one of them
was a round three pick. And how confident are we
that Sam Donald's going to hold the job all year.
I don't know. I don't think that he may do that.
And Jalen Milrow when he plays, he's going to score
fantasy points. He's gonna run, and we have a severe
lack of mobility on our fantasy team right now with quarterbacks.
(36:09):
So I want to take Milrow. I think that he's
an upside pick, especially in the weeks that out of
the most Darnald Missus playoff weeks, we have Dale Nolwrae.
We already have the other Seahawks running backs Tom It's
come on, we gotta do it.
Speaker 2 (36:24):
He's not somebody I would set out to intentionally draft
a lot of the time. But in this bill where
Tyler Schuck is our wide receive our quarterback three, my
confidence levels in Tyler Schuck on't free to roof like
when we draft our one QB teams. The amount of
conversations we've had about I'm not in on our larvae.
(36:46):
I don't like the Saints offense. I'm generally trying to
avoid them, apart from Kamara or Shaheed in Best Ball,
But when it comes to this part of the draft.
For me to turn away from a fourth quarterback just
for the sake of not having a fourth quarterback, it
would be naive to think that Tyler Shuk can definitely
give a team more fantasy production than Jaylen Milrow. And
(37:09):
I'm a little more confident that Sam Donald does keep
the job. But I'm also willing to say that the
offensive line he's playing behind isn't particularly great, and if
that gets him skittish, maybe he can outplay himself from
the job.
Speaker 1 (37:25):
No. Row just has so much of that rushing juice
that specific to our team that we don't have, and
when the weeks that matters most, that's when he's probably
most likely to play, would be all the Seawks are
out of the playoffs. Let's give this guy a chance
to see what he can do, and he could take
off and run with it. Literally.
Speaker 2 (37:43):
So so, Pat Fryemoo's still at the top of ADP.
I don't think Pat Frymove should be getting drafted in
these super flex drafts. I just don't see the argument
for it. After him, We've got Jack Besh, Quentin Johnson,
Wondel Robinson, Romeo Dubbs, Jayleen McMillan, Alec Pierce, plenty of
kind of similar prospects in a way. I mean, Romeo
(38:05):
Dubbs would give us another packer stack. I don't dislike
that if you want to keep hammering the running back position.
Will Shipley feels like the right kind of real upside swing.
He would be my choice here just in terms of
where Adp is as well, and then we could push
Sead Smith Andrew. I got into some trouble on Readit
(38:26):
over the weekend. I posted my ten favorite running backs
backup running backs, taking into account cost, situation and a
variety of factors like that, and one of them I
put in was Will Shipley, and the people weren't happy
that I put will Shipley in over insert favorite back
up here, to which my argument was, look, the Eagles
(38:50):
let Kenneth Gain will go. They had no interest in
bringing him back. Will Shipley barely played last year, very
aware of that, but I think will Shipley's upside is clear.
I think that he's an exciting player who could come
in and mix in on those kind of hurry up
situations this year, and his cost is so cheap that
(39:10):
I'm just willing to take the shots on it are you?
Are you with me on Will Shipley? Like, how much
upside do you think he realistically has behind Saquon this year,
even if he doesn't necessarily profile as somebody who could
be a free down back if something happened.
Speaker 1 (39:25):
I think that the situation is just too good for
him to fail. It's aj Dillon that's also in that
back that weaves him him flounder with every opportunity that
he gets, despite the fact that he is Quadzilla. So
Will Shipley, I didn't love him as a prospect. I
wasn't obsessed with him last year necessarily, but we saw
we just going when we saw Saquon go from the
(39:46):
Giants of the Eagles, just that environment that you're in,
it just it just oohs his fantasy production. So if
you think that the workload like I do, that Sequon Barkley,
the workld last year, is going to impact him this year,
then by default you need to be in on Will
Shipley and the fact that he has ship in his name.
We're trying to win the ship. I think it just
it writes itself, man, with some of these drafts.
Speaker 2 (40:07):
So no, I'm with you there. I completely agree on
that one. Brishard Smith's for next running back that you've
got starred in the queue. How confidently you he could
see work from you know, from the get go and
be similar to Isaiah Pacheco a couple of years ago,
who by all reports is healthy and doing well in OTAs.
(40:28):
I know we're about being the clock, but.
Speaker 1 (40:30):
Yeah, before we Smith thing, I think we should go
with one of these receivers with one of our quarterbacks,
So Jalen Nole, that's I think that. I just think
that Christian kirk Is does at this point. I think
Noel is going to have a bigger role to start
the year. We got it at the end of the season,
and he's our CJ. Stroud stack. I think we got
to take it.
Speaker 2 (40:50):
Yeah, there's nobody on the board wide receiver wise who
makes me feel like we should be drafting hit them
of the stack c J.
Speaker 1 (40:57):
Stroud. So back to Smith so he can also still
potentially get Pashard Smith because he's still a little bit
lower in ADP. I do think that he has the
potential to carve out a Jeric McKinnon type of role.
I mean, this guy was a converted wide receiver playing
running back. Super explosive. They can use him in a
lot of unique different ways, and I think that's kind
of who you want to gravitate towards in some of
(41:19):
these drafts, especially in the later rounds. And I believe
Craign if I'm wrong. He also has special teams ability
where they are going to try to find ways to
get him in space. We have new kickoff return this year,
so maybe we'll get more kickoffs again. They're moving the touchback.
I think we believe to the thirty five yard line,
so encouraging teams to run the ball back. If he
scores touchdowns, like we get those points. And that's really
(41:41):
the best way for these guys to hit our lineups
is if they're scoring touchdowns in a half PPR setting.
So Prashard Smith, Yeah, he's my top rank running back
along with Kyle Manungai. Those are the two rookie running backs
that I tried to draft in a lot of these
Best Ball drafts later on. And I think that we're
good at receiver. To be honest, we drafted five guy.
Maybe we could take one more, but we have I
(42:02):
feel really good about the five that we drafted.
Speaker 2 (42:04):
Yeah, I'm good with it. We'll come back to in
a minute, but we are back on the clock with
a four six five two. This kind of like just
pick the players who feel like very best options here.
I would be okay, yeah, two out well Jale and Coca.
They feel like real fun upside swings. And then maybe
we round out with another running back. But I'd be
(42:27):
quite comfortable leaving running back where we are as well, Like,
do you feel like there's one position on this roster
but we need to be filling it out more.
Speaker 1 (42:36):
I still think that we could probably add at least
one more running back, just because if a running back
scores gets you can get that goal line role. I
score a rushing touchdown like that feel I feel like
that's going to get them either into our flex or
that RB two slot or as the receivers. Right now,
I'm less convinced, And I think that you know getting
(42:57):
at well there as well. So you guy is definitely
the top guy I have. That's the running back I
would want to pick for the Chicago Bears. Got to
find him here. That's who I would want to draft
among running backs. And I also want to ask you,
so we have three tight ends? Can I two tight ends? Sorry?
I'm thinking that we should draft a third or I'm
(43:18):
considering it did did Ben? What are your thoughts on
bensonat could this guy be the next Dray McBride in
terms of he gets doesn't do anything his rookie year,
he sits bind zach Ertz for a half, and then
he breaks out in the second half of the year,
Like is this the path he's going to follow?
Speaker 2 (43:34):
I've kind of struggled with Ben's now a bit, like
I just they just wasn't really much there, and I think, like,
if I'm taking shots on tight ends in this range,
I think I'd rather go with Harold fannin Ron the Gadson,
the charges tight ends, whose name I've almost certainly butchered
this apologies to him and his family if they're listening.
(43:55):
I think I'd rather take shots on the rookies because
zach Ertz Zuckert seem to really establish him with a role,
and like Cliff Kingsbury loves zach Ertz like we're just
it's hard to get past that. I mean, Elijah Arroyo
definitely has some fun upside. I know We've got a
couple of questions in the chat, which we'll get to
after we made this next pick, because with only twenty
(44:16):
second clocks, I don't want to get Andrew with feeling
the heat and the sweat, sweaty fingers and accidentally clicking
somebody like that's never even go to see the field.
But I don't mind Kalmanong Guy. I'd be interested in
Taj Brooks, but otherwise, guys like Jalen Coker, Harold Fannon,
they feel like fun upside swings. I'm not looking at
(44:37):
guys like Roman Wilson in this range because even though
he could see reasonable volume, maybe I don't think we're
going to see enough place per game from the Steelers
to make it worth it when we've got the wide
receivers ahead of him. Kalmanong Guy is to pick.
Speaker 1 (44:52):
Karman on guys, and I think I think running back.
I think we just go another running back. To be honest,
I another rookie running back. Pick your flavor. Blake korm
is the highest guy I have ranked left. He just
got taken, so he's on option. I'm cool with Taj
Brooks if he's still there.
Speaker 2 (45:10):
Okay, well, let's come back to this one a minute.
I just want to hear a couple of questions. Mickey
Dean a chat saying Shipley's a good value. Liked him
in his Clemson days. DJ Giddens could be a good
late round back. JT gets been saying that and then
gig three double nine to three. How many qbs do
you think is optimal for super flex puppies. I think
it's not necessarily any easy answer to give. I think
(45:35):
that it all depends on how you spend your draft capital.
If you're spending up early, then three is probably optimum.
I think if you're spreading new picks or waiting, then
four is definitely viable. I believe one of the super
Flex contests last year it went to a team who
drafted five quarterbacks. I finished top six in the FFPC
(45:56):
super Flex Contest a few years ago and that was
where I had three, and I feel like at least
one of them was later on that that was a
court super flex time premium, which did balance it out
a little bit more. And I had some really good
values at TIM that year. So I don't think it's
an easy one essay, Andrew, do you have a particular
(46:18):
feel on that.
Speaker 1 (46:19):
I think that it does depend on which one where
you get them. I think that if you're draft, if
you can draft two elite guys at the top, you
could probably get away with just three just as getting
some depth. But honestly, I would try to. I think
more is probably better just because of the way that
they score points versus the field. Again, quarterbacks score so
many points in half PPR, it changes. And this is
(46:42):
something I talk about in just normal super flex drafts,
like is it half PPR full PPR, because it's much
easier to push other positions up higher in full PPR
because they can close the gap a little bit on
the total points. But in half PPR it's just really hard.
Even Tyler shot right. He could have a bad game,
score fifteen points or twelve points. He could be in
our lineup that week and he could score outscore most
of our running backs and receivers. So we're back here
(47:06):
running back.
Speaker 2 (47:07):
I'm going to push for Trevor Ettien.
Speaker 1 (47:09):
Yes, that's the right answer. Let's go, let's let's take
it down.
Speaker 2 (47:13):
And part of the reason that I want to push
for Trevor Ettien is I'm not overly enamored with Rico Dowdle.
Like Rico dwud Will got the job last year. By default.
The Cowboys wanted it to be Zeke, didn't they, But
it just ended up not being z because he was
so washed. Trevor Ettien as well as somebody who probably
isn't getting drafted in a lot of the Super Flex contests.
So I feel like, if he's not getting drafted, we
(47:36):
need somebody to be a difference maker, probably towards the
back end of the season, to help our running back
room along. Trevor Ettien ticks a lot of boxes for me.
Why you sold on Trevor Ettien?
Speaker 1 (47:47):
Well, I do like the fact that he does catch passes,
like that's something that he should be able to do
at the NFL level if they give him the role
to do so. And one thing that we didn't. We
didn't talk about this a lot just because there's so
many things flying around. I believe correct me if I'm wrong,
because I haven't memorized the entire week week seventeen schedule.
(48:07):
But Tom isn't the Carolina Panthers, Seattle Seahawks. Isn't that
Week seventeen?
Speaker 2 (48:13):
Seattle do play Carolina around you good moment?
Speaker 1 (48:16):
Yeah? See I knew it so yes, So that's excellent
because we definitely stacked up the Seahawks with Milroe Walker Charbonnet,
and then we brought it back with Trevor Etien. So
you know how every year, and this is for those
that play in the redraft leagues every year and this
always happens. And every time I go back to my
teams to hey, re recink your league for twenty twenty five,
(48:38):
you go back and you see your roster and you're
looking like, who are all these scrub running backs on
my team? Because the guys you pick up during the
season that you totally forget about, you have to cut.
Trevor Atien could be one of those guys.
Speaker 2 (48:51):
So yeah, my home league, I need a lug in
for first time in months and choose my sleepers. And
let's just say twenty twenty four sorry my keepers for
twenty twenty five, and let's just say twenty twenty four
brought some miserable options. We're gonna recap this draft in
just second, but harmamu gig three double nine three. Appreciating
(49:11):
you following us over here on the twitch channel. But
we're here each and every Monday, so if you like
this content, please do follow the channel. It's the quickest
way to get access to this, Andrew. We came out
of this draft with a kind of build that I
did not expect us to. Typically I would have leaned
wide receiver heavier, but we had a four eight six
(49:32):
y two Jordan Love, c J Stroud, Tyler Schuck, Jaylen
Milroe at quarterback, running back, Kenneth Walker, Jordan Mason, Zach
Sharbonet Rashard White, marsha On, Lloyd will Shipley, calmen On,
Guy Trevor Ettim wide receiver. This was like a fragile
wide receiver build in some ways, Jamar Chase, Justin Jefferson,
Jayleen Waddell, Keon Coleman, Jalen nol and two to out
(49:54):
well with our two explosive tight ends, George Kittle took
a craft. What do you say, and.
Speaker 1 (49:59):
Andrew, I really like this team. I did not think
that we would get the quarterbacks between Love and Stroud
after drafting Chase and Jefferson. Again, that's something that you'll
get with practice and doing these super flex drafts. Super
Flex is so much is always fun because there really
is no true adp because it really depends on just
how your team and how your league is drafting these
(50:20):
quarterbacks and how they evaluate them. So I'm pumped that
we were able to get those to those two quarterbacks
with that receiver start, and I like that we went
a little bit more fragile with the wide receiver position.
You could argue that these running backs are more valuable
anyway because it's the half PPR they score a touchdown,
We're feeling good about them. And I don't think we
needed to do over address receiver because Keon Coleman, Jalen
(50:44):
Nolan too too out will have to have historic games
to outscore Chase and Jefferson if they're healthy, and if
they get hurt, we're probably gonna lose anyway. So I
like that we went more aggressive at running back and
didn't necessarily look too much at receiver because you only
have to start two receivers, that's the big thing. This
is different from Bestball Mania, where you have to start
three receivers. There you have to have more bodies. This
(51:06):
is not the case because you only have to start two.
We could start four running backs every single week. We
could start two tight ends every single week.
Speaker 2 (51:14):
Yeah, and I think that point's really smart. And again
because of the way the BIE weeks have fallen for us,
The only wide receivers who are going to be out
at the same time are Justin Jefferson and Jalen know
now taking Jalen Boddle where we took Jalen Boddle. If
Jalen Mooddle lives up to what we're hoping for, then
between him and the rest they should be out of cover,
(51:34):
and then we just really relying on potentially the running
back room to be good. But generally, if Jamar Chase
and Justin Jefferson aren't in our line each and every
single week, then something's gone wrong here. We're more relying
on the wide receivers after that to give us biable
flex weeks outside of the bye week gig, saying that's
why the Jefferson felt Pick eighteen. Hey, we were not
complaining at all. He also mentions, if you're picking up
(51:57):
the end of round one, do you take two qbs
or do you try to get an elite Stuod Gibbs
or JJ. I think you've got to mix it up.
That's why I love this contest is a five dollars
entry one hundred and fifty max. Because you can try things,
and as Andrew said, like each and every superflex room
is so drastically different, isn't it Like if you end
up in a room where the first nine picks or
(52:17):
soap become quarterbacks, it completely changes the feel of it
compared to if a room is more willing to push
quarterback later and later. Andrew, do do you have a
particular way that you'd play the turn or would you
just be trying to wait and see what the room
gives you.
Speaker 1 (52:36):
I think you should probably wait to see what the
room gives you. I think that default into two quarterbacks
at the end is probably the thing you don't want
to do because that feels like you're reaching for potentially
suboptimal quarterbacks. Any time that you feel and this goes
through just general draft strategy. If you feel like you're
reaching for need, you probably are. So you got to
(52:58):
take a step back and knowledge, hey, I got to
take the best player available here, not necessarily oh half
draft quarterback. Those are the rules. It's super flex because
you never know what's going to happen in the later rounds,
and be smart, you can identify quarterback sleepers. So even
if you don't get the elite players, and you'll know
that when you when the draft opens up. I'm picking
up the end, all right, I need to be disciplined.
I got to take at least one top tier skill
(53:20):
position player. Maybe draft another quarterback if I'm a Homes
or someone like that, is there who's usually drafted in
his elite guy not necessarily this year, So be fluid
with it, and again use the mock draft simulator. You
know you can put super flex drafts in there as well.
That gives you some options of Okay, I now know
what to do because I think that in the beginning
it's pretty simple. If you have a top six pick
or top five pick, just take one of the big
(53:42):
five quarterbacks one, two, three, four, five. I think that's
pretty simple. But it definitely does get tricky or at
the at the end.
Speaker 2 (53:49):
Yeah, absolutely. I think it's one of those where there's
not necessarily a right wrong answer. Traditional best ball feels
so much more. We have so many more answers to
that than super flex bestball because there's just there's less
attention paid to it. There's less right ups about the strategy.
My feeling is always that I don't necessarily want to
(54:10):
get left behind from certain positions, and I think some
of my most successful teams are built in super flex
and beIN ones where I've been willing to push QB
three or I've pushed QB two and then taken two,
three and four to make up for that. So I'm
absolutely fine with that. Maybe maybe we need a little
more super flex strategy content in the Best Ball Draft Kit.
(54:33):
Maybe that's something I'll speak to Mike Mayer about tonight.
Because the Best Ball Kit is like a Fantasypros dot
Com forward slash Best Ball. You get expert ranking stacks,
rockie breakdowns, adp risers, roster construction strategies like there is
so much in the kit. Incredibly proud of it this offseason.
It's got everything you need to draft smart and win
big this year. Myself and Andrew we will be back
(54:55):
next Monday, four pm Eastern over here on Twitch, and
if you want to be following us over on Twitch,
you will be getting this content as soon as possible,
and like the many good people in the chat tonight,
we will answer as many of your questions as we
can for myself and Andrew from two very sweaty podcasting rooms.
We'll see you soon.
