Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, and welcome into the Fantasy Pros Fantasy Football Podcast.
It's the week twelve start sit episode, where will help
you get lineups locked for one of the most important
slates of the season. I'm your host, Seth Wilcock, and
of course we're tapping back into the big brains of
two of the top rankers from across the internet, including
a man who has one of the more wowing displays
(00:21):
of pop figures behind him that I've probably ever seen.
He's the Athletics Jake. Seely Jake, how are you heading
into the weekend? And since you are a pop culture guy,
and since this is our last show ahead of the holiday,
I have to ask, what is your one oh one
of Thanksgiving movies?
Speaker 2 (00:35):
Thanks are there Thanksgiving movies? Like?
Speaker 1 (00:40):
It's a subgenre.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
I was gonna say, of like three, like what is
the what is the full list?
Speaker 1 (00:45):
Here?
Speaker 2 (00:45):
I like it. I actually can't think of a single
Thanksgiving movie off the top of my head. Give me one.
Speaker 1 (00:49):
I was I was gonna say, Charlie Brown Thanksgivings, probably
the og right, oh.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
See, Like yeah, I didn't even go like see that's
I wasn't even thinking Tower Heist.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
Have you ever seen Tower heist. That's a good Thanksgiving.
Speaker 2 (00:59):
Yeah, well the Tower heights that kind of falls into
like I don't want to start it. But whether or
not die Hard is a Christmas move right, that's rightly
going down that road. But I mean outside of Charlie Brown, Yeah,
one hundred So we'll just say Charlie Brown because that's
one hundred percent. I guess I do not have any
Thanksgiving figures behind me, though I'll say that I do. Also,
(01:19):
I already have the Christmas stuff out ready to go
if you saw that. But there's five bins sitting over
here that we're today.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
Very nice, very nice, felk excited for you to be
here and taking time out of the busy decorating schedule.
Also back with us as someone who's going to be
trading the empty nest for a buzzing household over the
next few days. Pat fits Morris, Pat, how are you
great to see you? And are you ready to trade
the empty nest for the kids coming back home from college?
Speaker 3 (01:44):
Yeah, things will be a little more chaotic than they
have been in the last couple of months with the
kids back for the holidays, So that'll be fun. Looking
forward to it and we got to get our decorations
up too. And I know I saw Jake's vote on
Twitter of his five bins of Christmas stuff, and then
we're like some people reacting like five bins, what a maniac?
And I'm thinking about how we have like four bins
(02:06):
plus a bin for like that's just Christmas ornaments. This
is like we're pretty much there too, So, you know,
watching people call Jake amaniac and knowing that they would
feel the same way.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
About us as lucky as not more. I've actually I
pulled up the Thanksgiving movies and there's like Friends Giving,
the Turkey Bowl, Free Birds, and I haven't seen like
any of the Thanksgiving actual horror movie. Like there you go,
like if you wanted to go that route that was
actually half decent for a change. Was it the thing
it's actually called Thanksgiving? It's similar to I'm trying to
(02:40):
it was the one where the scarecrow Daily Night.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
Okay, yes, Christmas, but what was planes? Trains and automobiles?
They have that on the list the Thanksgiving they're trying
to get home for Thanksgiving and not Christmas.
Speaker 4 (02:54):
Yeah, I couldn't remember.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
You go, let's do that one. I mean we're Fitz
and I are definitely aging ourselves with that one.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
Though I honestly I know the name of the movie.
I don't think I've ever seen that movie, so maybe
I'll put that on your list.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
You were important until like the nineties, right, so.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
Yeah, ninety eight ninety eight, So there you go.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
Yeah, I want to expect you to know that movie.
Speaker 1 (03:17):
We're trying to get better at the pop culture references
from that day and age, so I'm trying to get
slowly better. Derek gives me a hard time over on
the twitch streams all the time, so hopefully I'll brush
up on that for the next show. We do have
a loaded program for you all today though, start Sits
for this week's popular waiver wire ads. We'll also get
to the Guy's flag plant players, plus a slew of
start Sit debates. Quick shout out to everyone who's rocking
(03:39):
and rolling with us on the Fancy Pros YouTube channel
or the audio feed. We appreciate all the support so
far this season. Please us a quick favor give this
video a thumbs up if you enjoy this type of content.

(04:01):
dot com, Slash rankings, and guys, let's go ahead and
jump into whether we're starting or sitting the popular waiver
wire ads, starting with Emmanuel Wilson for the Green Bay Packers,
currently coming in at ecr RB twenty one. He was
the big catch of the week right now, rostered in
sixty six percent of league's after scoring thirteen point nine
Fantasy points after Josh Jacobs went down with an injury. Pat,
(04:24):
you are the resident che's head in the building, So
is there anything that's preventing you from saying Wilson is
an auto star against the Vikings this week?
Speaker 3 (04:33):
Yeah, maybe one thing that I'll get to in a
second set, But just first in appreciation. To have Emmanuel
Wilson be such a focal point of attention this week
is an example of why fantasy football is such a
wonderful game. Right, No one in the fantasy community was
talking about or debating Emmanuel Wilson this summer. No one
was talking about Emmanuel Wilson when he came to the
(04:55):
league as an undrafted free agent from Fort Valley, States,
shout out Fort Valley.
Speaker 4 (05:01):
And now this week he.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
Was the darling of the waiver wire, and there's been
a lot of debate about how much was too much
as far as fab spending for Emmanuel Wilson. I've got
him ranked RB twenty four, which puts me about three
spots behind ECR on him, and Wilson is a very
competent backup running back, big enough to handle a substantial workload.
I'm just not one hundred percent sure he is going
(05:25):
to get a substantial workload even if Josh Jacobs is
indeed out.
Speaker 4 (05:29):
And as of.
Speaker 3 (05:30):
Thursday morning, the Invaluable Fantasy Pros Are they Playing tool
was giving Jacobs a forty one percent chance of playing
this week. The Packers have two very competent backup running backs.
Emmanuel Wilson has won, Chris Brooks is the other. Wilson
has played one hundred and seventy eight offensive snaps this season,
Brooks seventy two snaps. I don't know if the reason
Wilson has played more is because the Packers have deemed
(05:52):
him to be better than Brooks. I think it might
be just because Brooks is more heavily involved in special
teams Wilson is not. Brooks is actually played the third
most special team snaps of any one on the Packers.
Brooks is a good player, and in fact, with about
six minutes left in the Packers game against the Giants
last week and the Packers down by one, Jordan Love
(06:12):
had this big completion to Savvy on Williams that moved
the Packers into the red zone. Brooks had a phenomenal
blitz pick up on that plan that bought Love all
the time he needed. So it would not surprise me
if Jacobs is out this week, if Brooks contributes pretty
heavily this week. You know, most weeks when Jacobs is around,
they don't need Brooks to contribute heavily.
Speaker 4 (06:34):
But I don't know.
Speaker 3 (06:36):
It could be a seventy five to twenty five split
in Wilson's favor. It could be more like sixty forty
or fifty five forty five and entirely possible. Matt Lafleur
just goes with the hot hand approach.
Speaker 1 (06:47):
Yeah, and we've seen how that can sometimes affect fancy
running backs, specifically last week R J. Harvey got sniped
at the goal line when everyone was firing him up
and excited, and Jillian McLaughlin gets in there. So, Jake,
do you think it could be a Folgia game from
Emmanuel Wilson? Are you pretty confident in rolling mount there
in the RB.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
Two position as an RB two? But what Fifth said
this also as a complete aside, is why all of
these handcuffs in the world need to be on rosters,
like stop, it's that point of the year. We do
not want to be chasing all of our fab on
Emmanuel Wilson, which could blow up in our face. Anyway,
go back to the Broncos days where it's like is
it Ronnie Hillman or does it I forget the other one?
Like people, we were always picking the wrong Broncos running back.
(07:28):
But that's also where I agree with Fits on this,
is that it might be the wrong one. We started
this season and everybody was saying Chris Brooks was the
next man up, and then that evaporated. And I think
I was on Chris Harris's podcast and he drew the
comparison of Wilson to Chris Rodriguez, which I thought was
a really good one as that kind of power back
who's not going to do a lot in the passing game.
And so like let's say Chris Rodriguez was on the Packers,
(07:51):
we'd all be saying, yeah, cool, RB two. But also
understanding the risk that fits brought up is that if
this goes somehow competitive, maybe the Viking shock sen it
goes sideways, and all of a sudden, the Packers are
playing catch up, the passing downs are probably going to
lean to Chris Brooks as he said, I agree with that.
So an RB two, but an RB two with risk.
I have him one spot in front of Judkins, just
(08:13):
because I hate the Browns offense at this point, and
like we're talking about somebody who's finished outside of the
RB two territory more times than he has of late,
has been like thirties and forties for Judkins, despite getting
eighteen touches. But if you want to start Judkins, like,
that's the range that I think he's in is like
the Judkins, the Aaron Jones workloads those kind of guys.
(08:34):
So I'm not gonna split hairs of like, if you
really want to be like I want to start that guy,
no problem with it. But that's where he is back
in RB two for me with fits a little bit
higher but not much.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
Okay, and let's go to another Wilson, Michael Wilson wide
receiver for the Arizona Cardinals ECR Wide Receiver twenty one.
It may have taken two and a half seasons, but
we finally got the breakout performance from the Stanford product
last week when he finished as the wide receiver one overall,
scoring thirty three point five Fantasy points. No Marvin Harrison
Junior again this week? So are you starting Michael Wilson
(09:04):
with confidence against the Jags this week? Jake?
Speaker 2 (09:07):
I chuckled because that's actually legitimately where I hap him
is at twenty one. I think it was a little
bit lower, but it's risen over the week where I
wonder if some people were ranking Marvin Harrison, not knowing
what might go on with that. But it really comes
down to and like this is me, somebody who was
higher than most of Michael Wilson coming out of college,
and it has been disappointed. Like I want to root
for Michael Wilson because I thought the talent was there
(09:28):
for where he could Yet I see and like kind
of one of those like, you know, Okay, let's understand
maybe a year three type of thing where he needed
more development, and that's understandable. Like he wasn't a complete
prospect coming out of college. All that being sim throw
all of that to the side, and like we've been waiting,
like it really comes down to Jacoby Brissett. Maybe he's
not throwing fifty seven times, but he's averaging even if
you throw that game out, he's averaging almost forty attempts
(09:50):
per game. He is playing the Petsig offense better than
Kyler Murray was. And the one thing he's picking up
and Alfredo Brown was on my podcast yesterday, took the
words out of my mouth. He's understanding something that Kyler wasn't.
Throw it to Trey McBride. Throw at the trade McBride,
Throw at the trade McBride, and open up your wide receivers.
All that being said, I do think there's some risk
(10:11):
similar to the situation we just talked about, where now
Wilson's asked to be the number one and maybe this
is the first game of the Cardinals last week and
it's like, who do we really match up with? Dort
showed up late, but late if the focus is on
McBride and maybe they actually spread the coverage a little
bit more this week, and talking about the Jaguars who
have a pretty good secondary and kind of treat Wilson
(10:32):
as a number one. I'm not sure he's capable of
doing that, But again I'm off setting that with We're
still probably going to get forty pass attempts for a Brissett.
So as a wide receiver two with wide receiver one upside,
but a wide receiver four floor, I think that's where
he is. I have Michael Wilson one spot in front
of Brian Thomas if he plays on the other side
of that ball, in front of Juwan Jennings with all
the options there, So that's kind of where I have Wilson.
Speaker 1 (10:54):
Okay, Pat, where do you have Michael Wilson? And is
he in lineps this week for you?
Speaker 4 (10:59):
Wide receiver eight? So yes, a little more.
Speaker 3 (11:02):
Yeah, the target out looked still terrific. Probably not gonna
get eighteen targets again, but double digits very well within
play here. I think I'm guilty of having underestimated Michael
Wilson as a player, not just last week but overall.
I pointed out that he was averaging one point zero
nine yards per out run for his career, which is.
Speaker 4 (11:23):
A terrible number.
Speaker 3 (11:24):
But I know that Matt Waldman, author of the Rookie
Scouting Portfolio, thinks Michael Wilson is just flat out a
better route runner than Marvin Harrison Junior. And Kyler Murray
is a first read quarterback and Wilson has not been
his first read very often, and last week Wilson looked
(11:44):
very legit, and he is in a pretty good spot
this week against a pass funnel Jacksonville defense not a pushover,
as Jake mentioned, but the Jaguars are better against the
run than they are against the pass, so would not
surprise me if Jacoby Brissett did to his average and
pass attempts per game and threw it forty or more times.
Speaker 1 (12:04):
Shout out Jacoby Brissett, man. It's been so much fun
to see not only Marvin Harrison Junior have some good
games with him, but then Michael Wilson and then Trey
McBride all of a sudden not allergic to the end zone. Pat,
I know you and I have kind of been riding
that ship like this guy can't find payder, and he
finally has with Jacoby Rissett. So that's been really fun.
Speaker 3 (12:23):
Yeah, he's like another Joe Flacco.
Speaker 4 (12:26):
It's fun you have this.
Speaker 3 (12:27):
Yeah, journeyman's happen sort of star turn late in his career.
Speaker 1 (12:31):
Absolutely. Let's go to another running back that was hot
off the waiver wire RB for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers,
Sean Tucker coming in right now, the ECR RB twenty seven.
Tucker had his second game of his career last week,
where he totaled over thirty four fantasy points in PPR formats.
Last year, he followed up his RB one overall finish
with just four point eight fantasy points. Pat, do you
(12:54):
think we get a better result this time around, specifically
with Bucky Irvin still limited as is as of Wednesday.
Speaker 3 (13:01):
Yeah, So the are they Playing tool gives Bucky a
thirty six percent chance to play, or at least as
of Thursday morning. So I'm ranking Tucker as if Bucky
is not going to play, and I've got Tucker ranked
RB twenty seven, that might be overly ambitious. Even though
he had one hundred and forty yards from scrimmage in
two touchdowns last week, he still played eleven fewer snaps
(13:24):
than Rashad White, and now Sean Tucker goes from a
matchup against a bad Bills run defense to a match
up against the Rams, who of a lot of the
third fewest Fantasy points per game the running back. So
I think it's going to be a harder road for
Tucker this week.
Speaker 1 (13:37):
Okay, Jake, your thoughts on Sean Tucker. This is a
guy a lot like Mike Wilson that was one of
my favorite sleepers coming out of that class, and it's
taken a couple of years. But is this a spot
we maybe continue to see the breakout or is that
just a one hit wonder?
Speaker 2 (13:50):
Well, so you know, part of it is the talent
of Sean Tucker and somebody that if not for the injuries,
probably would have thought a little bit higher coming out
of college and then also in the NFL might have
landed in a better spot. So we can understand the talent,
but we can also understand exactly what Fifth said the
situation here. So there's two parts. I actually wanted to
add to that as well, as I remember watching that
game closely last week because we were talking going into
(14:11):
last week's game that, oh, Sean Tucker might push for
the leads Sean Tucker might be pushing for fifty to fifty,
if not more. And at the beginning of that game,
I remember sitting there going, Wow, Rashad White looks better
than he has maybe this entire season. At the beginning
of the game, like Rashaw White looked decent in that game,
like the Bucks offense was churning and Rashaw White was
part of that. Also, still on passing downs, they go
(14:34):
to Rashad White, and that's where my concern is, like
I have Rashade White a little bit higher. Apparently I
love him higher than fits I have him only at
twenty five. He's right there with like Zonovin Knight and
Charbonne and everything. But my concern of the risk is
if if this turns to a passing game for them,
that they start going back to Rashai White more, maybe
even not a fifty to fifty, but maybe it's sixty
(14:55):
forty four White because of the passing down. So I
do think that we can be excited for Tucker, but
we could also understand that they're still risk baked in here.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
Okay makes sense to me. What about Kenneth Gainwell running
back for the Pittsburgh Steelers RB twenty nine in ECR.
Right now, Kenny g is back over fifty percent rostered
after posting nearly his second thirty burger of the season
a week ago. Jalen, Warren no show at practice on Wednesday,
So if he does not suit up, is gainwell in lineups? Jake?
Speaker 2 (15:25):
Yes, but that's only like so I don't I have
Warren in So I don't have game well that high
right now because I have Warren as in they said
he could have come back in the game. Wednesday practices
as we know this, but you might as well throw
him out the window. Wednesday practices mean nothing unless you're
actually practicing coming off injury, then it's like a good sign.
It's more good for your actually practicing than if you
miss practice. Who cares? We will know today unfortunately after
(15:48):
we record this podcast. But if Warren is good to go,
then I'm gonna have Warren inside my top twenty, maybe
even pushing my top fifteen game. What will be a
flex running back and kind of in that range where
if you want to take that shot of like the Charbonnets,
the Algiers, that kind of running back. If there is
no Warren to your question game will will probably be
right in line with like Emmanuel Wilson, because the one
(16:10):
thing we did see is once like Warren was officially done,
Warren tried to come back in that game. Once Warren
left the game, it was a sixty forty split with
Caleb Johnson. I'm not saying I'm afraid of Caleb Johnson
by any stretch of the imagination. Like it's funny how
he gets a pass. Nobody in the industry is talking
about the entire industry, all of us, we all missed
on Caleb Johnson. Caleb Johnson was supposed to come in
(16:31):
and be Naje Harris. He's been a non factor and
like he just gets this pass and nobody cares about it.
But I do concern that, like Genneth Gamewell will be
the lead. But let's not put him into the RB
one or even the top fifteen because it looks like
Kayleb Johnson's finally getting his opportunities. Two weeks ago he
actually had the first two carries of that game, and
now he didn't get anything after that. But I do
(16:52):
think that Gamewell should be like tempered expectation, similar to
Emmanuel Wilson, I'd probably rank him in front of Emmanuel Wilson,
but I wouldn't put him in sie my top fifteen
just because I think Johnson would be involved.
Speaker 1 (17:03):
Okay, Pat, where are you at on Gainwell if Warren
is in or out? All right?
Speaker 3 (17:08):
First of all, Jake, I'm not giving Caleb a pass
as someone who took him in one of my dynasty
Oh no, no, all right, so right now I am.
I am not ranking Jalen Warren and the fantasy pros
are they playing? Tool was giving him a thirty six
percent chance to play as of Thursday morning. So I'm
ranking Gainwell as if Warren is going to be out,
and I've got him at running back thirteen.
Speaker 4 (17:30):
Wow, all the way up.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
I would not go that high. Wow. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (17:34):
So, and I know like Caleb is going to have
some sort of role if Jalen Warren is out. But
Gainwell has been fantastic whenever Warren has been out. One
hundred and thirty four yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns
against the Vikings in Week four, then last week with
that sixty percent workload share after Warren's departure one oh
(17:55):
five yards from scrimmage two touchdowns, So Gainwell really most
of the damage as a pass catcher last week seven
catches eighty one yards. Both of the touchdowns were on receptions.
That that dual run catch usage is really attractive. And
his matchup against the Bears this week like, no worse
than neutral, probably better than neutral. And look, there's just
(18:18):
not a lot of pass catching firepower for Pittsburgh. So
I think Gainwell is going to have a big role,
big role if Jalen Warren is out.
Speaker 2 (18:26):
Dare you be spurshed the name of Roman Wilson. Come on, Fitz, let.
Speaker 4 (18:30):
Me follow that Wilson has passed up Calvin Austin.
Speaker 1 (18:34):
I have too that.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
I'm a Roman Wilson fan, but let me jump in. Sorry, Seth.
I'm just curious because I'm looking at where I would
probably push him up to is probably about as I
was gonna say, RB seventeen, where I have Worren. So
I'm assuming would you have Swift and Hall behind Gainwell? Yes,
I think that's our biggest difference then, So I'm like, yeah,
there's those two names.
Speaker 1 (18:55):
I'm saying I'm not buying the Roman Wilson hype. I'm
just gonna say that I've been down this road multiple times.
We've gone by the wayside a few times. Like coming
into the season, everyone said Roman Wilson gonna be the
wide receiver two of the Steelers. It wasn't so. But
I'm with you guys on game Well, I do like
him a lot this week. I think he'll be a
very fun start if we get Jalen Warren out of there,
(19:17):
and like, honestly he's a Steelers fan. I'm okay with
Jalen Warren. Take a week off, fan, Like, get your
back healthy, take a seat on the pine with Rogers,
and let's see you come back in December when we
need you.
Speaker 3 (19:27):
We'll accept your apology when the Holy Roman Empire is

Speaker 1 (21:08):
All right, guys, let's go ahead and get to your
flag plant players starting with you? Fits, who are you
starting with confidence?
Speaker 3 (21:14):
In Week twelve, Brock Purty, and he was sharp in
his return last week, seventy three percent completion rates against
the Cardinals for two hundred yards and three touchdowns.
Speaker 4 (21:25):
Forty nine Ers at a big lead throughout.
Speaker 3 (21:27):
Which kind of held on Perdy's yardage total. But the
forty nine ers defense is so injury riddled and their
pass rush so feeble that I wonder if we might
just start to see sort of the Dak Prescott effect
with Brock Purdy, where his defense is giving up a
lot of points and Purdy has to shift into overdrive
to keep it up. And I don't know if the
(21:49):
Panthers can force Purdy into a shootout on Monday Night,
but who knows, maybe they can. Bryce Young had a
big game last week, and the forty nine Ers their
pass rush pressure rate in the league, fewest sacks in
the league. Opposing quarterbacks can make a sandwich in the
pocket against the forty nine ers and still I'm an
open receiver. So I just I think brock Perdy might
(22:13):
get thrust into a lot of shootouts down the stretch,
and maybe he gets thrown into one Monday Night against
the Panthers.
Speaker 2 (22:19):
Yeah. I love that call.
Speaker 1 (22:20):
And is someone very invested now in Ttero McMillan after
going out and trading for him a few weeks ago.
I would love to see it. Bryce Young, say what
you want about him. That guy was gritty. He was
getting absolutely taken down shots left and right, edges coming
out blind side of him, and he was just taking
hits last week. So I was really impressed by him
standing there in the pocket. And if he has more
(22:40):
time this week against sand Fran I think he could
do some damage. Jake, what about you? Who is your
flag plant for Week twelve of the NFL season?
Speaker 2 (22:48):
Well, I guess I have to bring them both up
because I thought Yoshavis was gonna be the layup, and
then I see that I'm still really high on consensus
and I even checked Fits's I'm actually eight above him
because he has him at thirty six twenty eight, like
like I like, I top thirty play and it's hard
because you have to parse out without Chase or without
(23:08):
Higgins that a lot of the split tools want to do,
like one of the so you have to actually go
through all without Chase on the field, all without the
Higgins on the field, and kind of like put it together.
But when you do put it together, Yoshivas has actually
been a borderline wide receiver too. Now it's a very
small sample, but the target share is there at almost
over twenty percent because without one or the other, he
steps into the number two. He's just been the number two.
(23:31):
And that's where I'm looking at it. It's like if
you want to argue for some of the names behind him,
but I have him in the same tier of like
a Mooney Adobs a Shakir, So like again there's hot
there's better floors in there, like with Shakir. But honestly,
Shakierra's floor was almost a zero last week, So like,
I get it, but I just I thought he would
be the layup. But so I put a second name
(23:51):
here because I thought everybody would be on Yoshiva's But
apparently I'm super high on him. But I think the
underrated one is Isaiah Hodgens. And I had him really
high in my rank last week, as in to say
he was a wide receiver five super high that should
have been higher. The Giants have some fascination with this dude.
Every time they bring them back, they bring them back
as a top three wide receiver. Only three wide receivers
(24:13):
were on the field for the Giants the entire game
last week, Wandel Robinson, Jalen and Hodgens. And Hodgens was
actually the number two. So I don't care if it's
Dart or if it's Jamis, He's gonna be out there
as a two where people are looking for desperation plays.
With all the injuries and all the people on by
I have Hodgens as a fringe wide receiver four his
wide receiver four or five range. There's plenty of risk,
(24:34):
but they just love using him when he's back on
the team.
Speaker 1 (24:37):
Yeah, Now you get James Winston as well slinging it
over there, so I'm here for it. Hodgens back with
the Giants last week reminds me of like when you
go out the night before Thanksgiving in your hometown local
bar and you see like an old flame from high
school and you're like, oh wow, I kind of forgot
you existed.
Speaker 2 (24:52):
I thought it was gonna be even worse to that seth.
I say, Isaiah Hodgens is the Giant drunk text at
three am you up like, that's what it is. That's
what it is.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
I could get behind that. I drafted a lot of
Isaiah Hodgens off that breakout year he had with the Giants.
I can't even remember if that was twenty three, maybe
coming into twenty twenty four, or maybe twenty twenty two
coming into twenty twenty three. Either way, I got burned
the next year. Buy him, but I'll buy back in here.
I picked up Isaiah Hodges after listening to you on
the Waiver Wire episode earlier this week, Jake, So I
appreciate that.
Speaker 2 (25:25):
Of course, think about this way. Would you rather play
Isaiah Hodgens or Jerry Judy with Shadar Sanders Actually Jerry
Judy period like Judy rather one good game one.
Speaker 1 (25:35):
I'd rather roster Jerry Judy and trade him for anything
and play over Isaiah Hodges. But I'd still play Hodgens
I think over over Judy, or at least think about it.
Speaker 2 (25:44):
Guys.
Speaker 1 (25:45):
Let's go ahead, though, Let's get to the start sit debates,
and let's start at the running back position, where we
have Zach Sharboney of the Seattle Seahawks against Kyle Manongai
of the Chicago Bears. This is really like touchdown vulture
versus touchdown vulture. Sharps is e. We see our RB
twenty eight coming in, averaging nine point six points per
game on the season. He's on the road in a
(26:05):
great matchup against the Titans Manong Guy. He rolls in
as the RB thirty four and ECR averaging twelve point
four points per game over the last five weeks, and
he takes on the up and down Pittsburgh Steelers defense
at home. Fits do you have a play between sharbs
and Minong Guy?
Speaker 3 (26:22):
It's sharbon Ay, I know. Seattle head coach Mike McDonald
said after the loss to the Rams last week that
Walker is quote earning more opportunities.
Speaker 4 (26:32):
To get the ball.
Speaker 1 (26:33):
Believe it when I see it.
Speaker 3 (26:35):
So yeah, so maybe maybe we get a big, big
Kenneth Walker workload spike this week.
Speaker 4 (26:39):
But I don't know.
Speaker 3 (26:41):
In a game where the Seahawks are favored by almost
two touchdowns against the Titans defense that has allowed the
six most fantasy points per game the running backs, I
think there's gonna be enough work for both Walker and
sharbon Ay. And look, I know everyone thinks sharbon A
is terrible because he's averaging three point three yards per carry. Yeah,
I mean he's been getting a lot of the short
yardage carries exactly boxes. So he has been hit behind
(27:03):
the line of scrimmage on thirty three percent of his
carries this year, highest percentage of any running back in
the league. So I don't think Sharbona is a bad player.
I think he's going to get some work in a
really favorable matchup. I'm a Mann Guy fan, but I
just think Sharbona is a better percentage play.
Speaker 1 (27:18):
Yeah. I do as well, specifically because I already laid
the thirteen and a half points with the Seattle Seahawks,
so I am going in those waters. Jake, are you
also taking a bath with Zach Charboney.
Speaker 2 (27:30):
Oh yeah, and well people know I'm taking the bath
on the Keth Walker report that I gave it auguest.
So there's one right there. But it really comes down
to everything Fit said I said on my podcast yesterday.
It was just the fact that we play this game
with the Seahawks all the time. They talk like it
almost feels like the fact that McDonald's talking up Walker,
we should be like, Okay, Sharbon a RB one, like
(27:51):
we should just take the opposite. But it's like worst
case scenario, They're still both going to be used. And
that's where I'm with Fits on this is that if
I'm going for who's more likely per play to potentially
see eight to ten touches and get in the end zone,
it both of them can do it, but it's the
play is with Sharbonnay for the higher likelihood.
Speaker 1 (28:10):
Okay, let's get some deeper running backs who I think
we're all a bit surprised that are this relevant here.
In week number twelve, Devin Singletary of the New York
Giants and Tyler Algier of the Falcons. Singletary is the
ECR RB thirty five. This week, He's averaged eleven point
seven fantasy points in the three games. Cam Scattabu went
down seeing a lot of the high leverage work. Tyler
(28:31):
Algier RB thirty six. He has found payder in six
six times in the past seven games. So he's been
terrific as far as vulturing all our Viijon Robinson touchdowns
away and now he gets a really nice matchup against
the Saints to have a lot a ton of touchdowns
over the past month. Two opposing running backs. No Michael
Pennis Junior, No Drake London. Does that make it alger
(28:51):
over singletary this week for you, Jake?
Speaker 2 (28:53):
So it's funny like Kafka took over and I was like, hey,
we watched Dable keep using singletary with his fascination and
Kaptin did the whole hold my beer because I'm gonna
do it even more. There's a fifty to fifty split.
The crazy thing about it is that Tracy still does
not have a single carry touch inside the ten this year.
Like the whether it's Stable or Kafitin, they continue to
(29:16):
go to Singletary and of course Scatterby before that. Now
I say, I'll have to say it's singletary as of today,
if Jackson Dart is back this week, I would actually
pivot off of this because I don't care how like
Cam Newton, Josh Allen like, we could go down the
list like even Jane and die like no matter how
many times we have. The conversation is they need to
(29:37):
stop running, they need to stop taking contact, they need
to stop. They need to stop. They need to stop.
The quarterbacks are going to do what they're going to do.
They're going to run. Maybe Jackson Dart slides a little
bit more in the middle of the field, but when
we get inside the ten, that's going to limit the
potential Devin Singletary opportunities enough that right now it's a
toss up and I'm leaning for Singletary that if Jackson
Dart is back, I would actually switch over to Algier,
(29:59):
even though I'm definitely afraid of Kirk Cousins and what
he's going to do that at offense.
Speaker 1 (30:03):
Yeah, it's been fifteen of eighteen red zone touches Singletary
has taken since Skataboo went down over Tracy, So definitely
seeing some of that high value touches. Does that make
him a startover OL's year?
Speaker 4 (30:15):
For you?
Speaker 3 (30:15):
Pat No and Jake makes a really good point. I
think Jackson Dart probably is a net negative for Devin Singletary,
even if he's a net positive for the offense, just
because Singletary has been.
Speaker 4 (30:26):
The preferred goal line guy.
Speaker 3 (30:28):
Also, not great to have a matchup against Detroit when
you're getting so much of your value from touchdowns. I mean,
Detroit's allowed five touchdown runs to running backs this season,
So the more the Falcons can take the ball out
of Kirk Cousins.
Speaker 4 (30:42):
And the better off they're gonna be crazy.
Speaker 3 (30:44):
So I would expect both Jean Robinson and Tyler Algier
to get a lot of work against the Saints this week.
Speaker 4 (30:50):
I'm going Algier.
Speaker 1 (30:51):
Here, Yeah, Algier over three to one to get in
the end zone again. The Saints have allowed a running
back to score a touchdown in four straight games, so
maybe worth a little sprinkle this week.
Speaker 4 (31:02):
I would say.
Speaker 1 (31:02):
So, Wow, let's go ahead and get to the wide
receiver debate, starting with a couple of teams wide receiver
twos in an NFC North showdown. It's Christian Watson of
the Packers versus the Vikings. Jordan Addison. Watson currently the
ECR wide receiver twenty six, averaging eleven point nine points
per game in his four games since returning from the injury.
(31:23):
Jordan Addison ECR Wide receiver twenty eight, averaging twelve point
six points per game in seven games since being back
from suspension, Pat, do you have a lean between your
boy Christian Watson and Jordan Addison?
Speaker 4 (31:34):
Yeah, I do.
Speaker 3 (31:34):
I've I've got Watson ranked higher. I've got Watson wide
receiver twenty five, Addison wide receiver thirty. I think Addison
is a better wide receiver than Christian Watson is. That's
no slight against Watson. I just think Addison is terrific,
and if he were in a different situation, we might
be talking about him as a wide receiver one for fantasy.
Speaker 4 (31:53):
But he's not in a different situation.
Speaker 3 (31:55):
He has to compete with Justin Jefferson for targets and
Addison is currently saddled with JJ McCarthy as his quarterback,
And really McCarthy has been the bigger of those two
problems for Addison. Addison is averaging seven point three targets
in the three games he's played with McCarthy. That's perfectly fine.
He's only been able to catch seven of those twenty
(32:17):
three targets. That is a thirty one point eight percent
catch trade for those of you scoring at home. And
Addison is averaging four point seven yards per target on
throwers from JJ McCarthy. So Watson is the far better
quarterback and Jordan love give me Watson.
Speaker 1 (32:33):
Okay, Jake, how do you feel about this one? I
talked a lot with Andrew Erickson earlier this week on
the Trade episode that maybe there is a second half
breakout coming fro or JJ McCarthy and Justin Jefferson and
Jordan Adison will follow suit. I just don't know if
it's here against the Packers. What do you think?
Speaker 5 (32:50):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (32:50):
I actually I chuckle because I have Watson at twenty
five just like fits. I actually even have Addison lower
than he does at thirty three. And it really comes
down to McCarthy. And I did my discord chat at
the Athletic I love smashing up player names, and I
was like, I said this about McCarthy when he came
out of college, and everybody hated me for it. And
I'm not victory lapping. He still has plenty of time
to improve. We've seen this from quarterbacks all the time.
(33:12):
But I said the difference is like he's Taylor Heiniekey
with a like a sick arm, like a Colin Kaepernick arm.
And somebody in the chat said, call him Colin heinekick
and I was like, I like it, it's Colin hunt
like because you watch it. He fast bawls, he'd like
the part of the reason things are off target if
fifty percent on target to Jefferson. By the way, which
is part of the raison Jefferson's getting killed is that
(33:35):
he doesn't have any touch. And I don't know if
it's because he's overthinking, he's pressing, he's got the pressure
on him. He knows he's playing poorly. Whatever it is.
J J. McCarthy, let's be honest, stinks right now. Like
he's one of the worst throwing quarterbacks in the NFL.
He's down there at the bottom, Honestly. JJ McCarthy versus
Dylan Gabriel, the passers, they're about the same right now.
(33:56):
There's plenty of time to improve. Kevin O'Connell I would
want as my quarter coach. I would want Jefferson and Assen.
All that being said, this is why I'm with fits
on it. Christian Watson. I just did a videos like
why is he still out there? And I'm no waivers
have changed, but the Waiver Show, why was he still
out there? In sixty five percent of leagues preval This
week we finally got Christian Wawson doing Christian Watson things.
We finally have it happen. People are like, I burn
(34:18):
me too many times. I don't want him Christian Watson.
I have it twenty five one hundred percent with fits
on this one.
Speaker 3 (34:22):
Yeah, So, Jake, I was listening to The Athletic Football
Show the other day with Robert Mays and my good
buddy Michael Beller produces that one. They were talking about
JJ McCarthy and you mentioned Colin Kaepernick. That was one
of the comparisons they made, was it JJ McCarthy, guy
who just doesn't only has that one speed, only knows
how to rocket. It doesn't have any touch. The other
(34:44):
comparison Trey Lance. Oh, like that was the other comparison
they made with what they're seeing out of J McCarthy.
So those are two pretty frightening comparisons.
Speaker 1 (34:54):
Wow, I'm not going to give up just quite yet
on JJ McCarthy just because like the guy didn'tet take
any practice reps as a rookie, right, and he's missed
half this season with injuries, So I still think there's
a chance. But I do agree the touch has to
get better, and I don't think he ever really had
that at Michigan. But I don't necessarily ever asked to
use touch at Michigan that much.
Speaker 2 (35:13):
And he wasn't asked to throw that much at Michigan,
like like as somebody who wasn't a fan of McCarthy,
and I want to apologize for him. He was clearly
somebody that should have sat possibly two years like and
the injury regardless, like he needed clear and still needs
clear development. And hopefully Kevin O'Connell he's the quarterback whisperer.
But to your trail lance call it, well, I guess
(35:33):
their trail lance call out fits if that was always
my thing. If Shanahan couldn't fix Lance, why did anybody
else think they were going to get the better version
of trail lance?
Speaker 4 (35:42):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (35:43):
Well, Jerry Jones, baby, he also thought he could fix
Jonathan Vingo for a fourth round, right, So that's just
how it goes. Great, Indeed, let's get into some deeper
wide receiver territory. All the way down to wide receiver
furs because we're just at the point the season where
I don't know about you, but I need some plays,
and I think these two wide receivers are at least
in the mix this week, including Luther Burden, the third
(36:03):
of the Chicago Bears and of course Carolina Panthers Xavier
Lagette Burden ECR wide receiver forty three. He's averaging five
point seven points per game, but finally looks like he
has overtaken Zakias for the slot role and now he
gets the Steelers at home. Loget is the ECR wide
receiver forty four. He's averaging seven point six points per game.
He's coming off his second finish of wide receiver thirteen
(36:25):
or better this season, and he gets a really nice
matchup against the forty nine or secondary on Monday Night football.
Jake Lagett or Burden.
Speaker 2 (36:32):
For you, So I'm gonna kind of like one is
the one no league gets playing and so like that
obviously that assuming he is, and but you don't want to,
like if we don't get word by Friday, and like
you with the Monday night game. So if Leget was
playing like right now, I don't have him in there.
I actually have Jalen Cocher back to back with Burt.
Speaker 1 (36:51):
You can also play Cocher if you would rather play Coker.
Speaker 2 (36:53):
Yeah, well well well no, because I was gonna say,
if Lee gets okay, I don't want either one of them.
Like that's the thing. It's like I want League without Coker,
and I want Coker without leget I don't want him
Bolt because I don't try to trust Bryce Young to
have another Bryce Young greatest performance of his career like
he did last week. So it comes down to the
quarterback situation. I know that the Panthers have the better matchup,
(37:13):
but I trust Caleb Williams Moore, which might sound crazy
to some people, but I just trust him more even
against the Steelers. The one area, like we've talked about
a lot with Fits, is like they are more vulnerable
to the past than they are to the run, although
they have been playing better as of late. But I
want to Worm never gets this reference because he never
saw X files, but maybe you have, even though you
were born in the late nineties. Is like I want
(37:34):
to believe. I actually want to believe that they're telling
the truth and they are going to start using Luther
Bordon Moore because they started last week. As you mentioned,
he took the slot role from Zachias, and with how
bad DJ Moore has been this year, maybe he starts
pushing DJ Moore as the second most valuable wide receiver.
The biggest problem with Burden is that there's too many
options on an offense that doesn't regularly throw three hundred
(37:56):
yards per game. That's what killed Lovelim. Love him was
fun until cold Comet was on the field, and now
he's dead again. So I want to and I think
the higher ceiling for me and maybe fit season different,
but I think the higher ceilings with Burden. And that's
why I would go. If I'm chasing wide receivers this low,
I'm going ceiling, and I'm going ceiling with Burden.
Speaker 1 (38:15):
Okay, I have seen the X files, by the way,
but I think it was like the that they just launched.
Speaker 2 (38:20):
I mean, at least you know, at least you get
the reference. Have you been to Taco Belly, so you're
already better than worm? So there you go.
Speaker 1 (38:27):
Where it has never been to Taco Bell?
Speaker 2 (38:29):
Really you didn't know that?
Speaker 3 (38:30):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (38:31):
Geez? Okay, all right, well I see he was he
was raised on the silk.
Speaker 2 (38:35):
Actually, I'll give you, I'll give you a super bonus.
Do you actually get my shirt? Do you understand it?
Speaker 4 (38:41):
Mmm?
Speaker 1 (38:42):
It's a Tootsy Pop commercials that right now?
Speaker 2 (38:44):
Now that's a common comic coma coma Kamelli.
Speaker 1 (38:49):
Okay, okay, really I thought it was like Tootsy Pops
and like the Chameleon.
Speaker 2 (38:53):
Oh I could see that.
Speaker 3 (38:54):
Yeah, always wondering about that. That's that's fantastic.
Speaker 1 (38:58):
It's what about for you, Burden or.
Speaker 3 (38:59):
The I'm with Jake on Burdon here, and Jake sort
of pointed it out, like, yes, he's passed the kaves,
but that might not necessarily mean a snapshare above fifty percent,
because the Bears do go with two tight ends a
lot with Coleston Loveland and Cole Comet. But still, like,
I'm optimistic that Burton Snaphair is going to tick upward
(39:20):
from the forty plus percent it's been at the last
couple of weeks. And I think Burton is the kind
of player who can make a lesser snapshare work because
Ben Johnson is going to find ways to scheme touches
for him. So I'll take him with his upside. I
just one I don't really believe in Xavier Legett the
player too, Like Ted Roe McMillan clearly the number one
(39:44):
option and the forty nine ers have just been getting.
Speaker 4 (39:46):
Crushed by slot receivers.
Speaker 3 (39:48):
So I think Jalen Cocher is like the number two
guy this week, and that just leaves you.
Speaker 4 (39:54):
Know, Legett is a number three option. I don't really
believe in.
Speaker 1 (39:58):
Last thing I'll say on the Panthers is, did you
guys see the clip of Rico Dawdle like calling a
shot that he wanted to screen pass late in that
game last week and said, hey, if they come up like,
we gotta throw the screen and it was just great.
Did you see that at all?
Speaker 4 (40:11):
He was my good for it?
Speaker 1 (40:12):
It was fantastic.
Speaker 2 (40:12):
Yeah, it was basically yeah, it's kind of yeah.
Speaker 1 (40:15):
I just love savvy players. I love savvy players who
are willing to call their shot and coaches who will
listen to their players is even better. So really like
what Caroline is doing right now, before we keep it moving,
I wanted to remind everyone about the FP Start Sit Assistant,

Head to fantasypros dot com, slash my playbook, or just
download the Fantasy Pros app and make winning decisions in
(40:57):
no time. Gentlemen, let's get to some rapid fire start
sit decisions. Starting at the running back position, we have
Kareem Hunt e cr RB twenty three against the Colts
or Alvin Kamara, who's coming off to buy e cr
RB twenty five against Atlanta. Fits Hunt or Kamara a
battle of the twenty seventeen rookies.
Speaker 3 (41:15):
If Isaiah Picchecko doesn't play, I'll take Hunt just because
he'll have a much better chance of scoring a touchdown
than Kamara would. But if Pacheco plays, and the Fantasy
Pros are they playing, tool was giving Pacheco a seventy
one percent chance as of Thursday morning, then you have
to go with Kamara here. And it's funny, I thought
Kamara was droppable a few weeks ago, but then he
had eighty three rushing yards and thirty two receiving yards
(41:37):
in his last game. And now I'm starting to wonder
if Tyler Shuck might be a better quarterback for Kamara
than Spencer Rattler was, because Shuck seems much more willing
to throw it downfield and maybe that loosens up defenses
a little bit.
Speaker 4 (41:49):
He gives Kamara more room to operate.
Speaker 1 (41:51):
Yeah, I tried fading the Saints in that matchup against
the Panthers, so he Shuck definitely showed me that, Jake,
where are you at? On Hunt?
Speaker 2 (41:58):
And Kamara has fits in the fact that I don't
have Pacheco in the ranks right now, so I have
Hunt at twenty three and Kamara at twenty six. They're
probably pushed Hunt just right behind him, kind of back
into the probably Reshad White Wolvershire White is there with
no Bucky Irving, so the Remandre Stevensons, the Tyrone Tracy's
Twotons of the world where they're still upside there. But
(42:19):
I'm with fits that that that would be the difference
maker right now.
Speaker 1 (42:22):
I hate Kareem hunt Man. I drafted this guy like
everywhere and then he scored like three and four points
the first two weeks. I knew Pacheco wasn't gonna have
like the full role to himself, but I was just like, oh,
maybe I just don't want like the backup running back
for the Chiefs, and I dropped him after Week two,
and he's been pretty darn good since.
Speaker 2 (42:37):
So I'm a bit of toast to start the year.
So I mean it's hard to Yeah.
Speaker 1 (42:42):
Yeah, let's go to the wide receiver position. Khalil Shakir
e CR wide receiver twenty nine against Houston and Houston
and then Ricky Pearsall coming back second game since being
reactivated ECR wide receiver thirty against the Panthers fits. Or
you going with Pearsol on Monday Night Football or Shakir
against the Hexans.
Speaker 4 (43:00):
I'm going with Shaki.
Speaker 3 (43:02):
I know we laid an egg last week one catch
for negative three yards, but in the three games before that,
Shakira had twenty catches. So look, if you're an underdog
in your matchup, maybe you should try to throw the
haymaker with Piarsol. But if you're a favorite or even money,
like I just go with the Sayer floor of Shakira,
even though the floor last week turned out to be
kind of a trapdoor.
Speaker 2 (43:22):
Jake, Yeah, I've actually been getting a lot of hate
from my pushback on Shakiir is like his four isn't
even that good this year he has three top thirty performances,
three and I'm not even just like throw out last week.
He has a forty forty seven, fifty two, one hundred
and five, and we too, like Shakira is not twenty
twenty four Shakir. But even so, as somebody that's been like, hey,
maybe Shaki and I got the pushback. As I said,
(43:45):
in a ten team league, he's arguably droppable if you're
shooting for ceiling, and that's where I agree. I thought
Fitz set it up perfectly. That was gonna be my
argument if you went to me first, I'm taking Shakir.
But if you're shooting for the ceiling, I think in
this scenario the ceiling is pierceal.
Speaker 1 (44:00):
Okay, let's go to some flex debates, starting with Dave
Montgomery ECR RB twenty two going up against the Giants
and dk Metcalf ECR Wide Receiver twenty two against Chicago. Christmas,
of course came early for us yinsers and we got
Mason Rudolph under center. So, Jake, are you going Monty
or Metcalf?
Speaker 2 (44:19):
Fitz knows if he read my article where I'm going
with this, and it's with David Montgomery. Backup running backs
have been scoring and having double digit performance against the Giants,
let alone the lead options. Everybody talks about the Bengals
and face the Bengals, face the Bengals, face the Bills,
face you know who's right there with them? The Giants
run defense is in the conversation with the Bills and
the Bengals. Sure, and it's weird that they don't ever
(44:39):
really get brought up in that fashion as they've been
obliterated since basically about Week five. They actually have the
second worst rush EPA on defense only outside of the Bengals.
The Bills are actually third. So I am playing running
backs of David Montgomery's ILK in a game where will
we be shopped that the Lions are up by three
scores and Montgomery gets a touchdown or two in the
second half. I'm going Da Montgomery in this one?
Speaker 3 (45:01):
What about you, FITZI I am agreeing with Jake again, Jake,
We're agreeing so much.
Speaker 2 (45:06):
To have we disagreed today?
Speaker 1 (45:08):
I know.
Speaker 3 (45:09):
I think it's because Seth is a uniter and worms
I've concluded here, Yeah, Montgomery. The Lions are at home
at Ford Field, the cores field of the NFL, double
digit favorites against the Giants, who have the worst run
defense in the league by DVOA, even worse than the Bengals.
I know Montgomery's usage last week was concerning seven touches,
(45:31):
only played thirty nine percent of the snaps. But did
the lesser usage for Montgomery benefit the Lions? They scored
nine points, so Monty's averaging twelve point five touches a game.
I'm not worried about the usage and DK.
Speaker 4 (45:44):
Since Week seven.
Speaker 3 (45:45):
DK is wide receiver fifty four in half point PPR,
Fantasy points per game, thirty nine yards per game over
that stretch, and the Bears have been a great passing
game matchup because they've been playing without their two best quarterbacks,
Kyler Gordon and Jalen Johnson.
Speaker 4 (45:59):
It's possible to get one or.
Speaker 3 (46:00):
Both of those guys back this week, and if Jalen
Johnson is able to play, he'd probably be covering Metcalf
quite a bit. And Jalen Johnson is one of the
better outside corners in the league.
Speaker 1 (46:09):
Okay, well, maybe it means I also made the questions
too easy. But maybe I'll get you guys to divide
on these last few here, Starting with another flext THEO Johnson.
He is the ECR tight end ten at Detroit. And
then we also have DJ Moore, e CR wide receiver
thirty six in that same matchup against the Steelers. Pat
or you and Moore or Theo?
Speaker 3 (46:31):
Oh man, I can't even believe this is where we're
at with DJ Moore debating whether to start him as
a flex over THEO Johnson, a tight end who's had
more than fifty five receiving yards twice in twenty three
career games twenty three games two times.
Speaker 4 (46:46):
Over fifty five years.
Speaker 3 (46:47):
As bad as it's been FORDJ Moore this season, I'm
taking him over THEO. The Steelers have been getting smoked
by perimeter receivers like all year, So I gotta go
with DJ Moore.
Speaker 1 (46:59):
Is this the one Jaker you go in a different direction.
Speaker 2 (47:01):
We finally disagree finally on one word. I mean, this
is this is probably I was looking at the list,
this is probably the toughest one DJ Moore, though you
know how many times he's finished as a top twenty
five wide receiver the same amount of times he's caught
a touchdown once. That's how it's been. Like he's got
more finishes outside the top forty than he does inside
(47:22):
the top forty. To give you an idea, by almost
double like it's been, DJ Moore is non existent. If
we didn't know the name was DJ Moore, we won't
even be talking about him like this wouldn't be on
a conversation we have on any shows. And I understand
where fits is coming from. This is another one where
I think it's the ceiling is clear with DJ. Like
DJ Moore, it wouldn't be shocked if he had his
first one hundred touch or one hundred yard game and
(47:43):
a touchdown. That's not just happen. That's not going to
happen for the O Johnson. So that's where you come
down to, like what's the more likelihood for the ceiling.
It's still DJ Moore, but THEO Johnson even like I
know what Fitz said, but in the matchup, they still
have zero options. I mean, I was just talking about
Isaiah Hodgens as an option for the Giants. Yeah, so
I'm leaning to THEO Johnson as the floor play DJ
(48:04):
Moore as the ceiling, just because I want to be
surprised that DJ Moore is also phased out at this point.
Speaker 1 (48:09):
All right, here's another one, also including a Johnson, but
it's Tes Johnson, the rookie for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
ECR Wide Receiver thirty four at the Rams and ty J. Spears,
who has slowly become a very much capable fixture of
the Tennessee backfield, if you want to call it that,
and e CR RB thirty two against Seattle Jake Tes Johnson,
(48:29):
Ti J. Spears.
Speaker 2 (48:31):
So you could argue this one as flour versus ceiliing two.
But when the floor is like five six points, I'm
just gonna go Test Johnson. And like everybody's bitter and
upset about Test Johnson last week, even with Baker's game
and everything, Like he's a wide receiver four, Like understand
wide receiver fours, and we Fitz and I we talked
about this week's ago and I talked about on the
(48:52):
Waivers Show. Is like it's okay for wide receiver fours
to have bad games. They are going to have probably
about fifty to fifty And I'm not coming from anybody
with that one. I'm just saying that, like, I'm going
back to Tes Johnson and even if he has another
bad game, but that's because I'm understanding Tes Johnson's a
wide receiver four and that's the upside you play here.
If the floor with Taj Spears was nine or ten points,
(49:13):
I would argue for Spears, but it's not. It's five
or six. So in that case, I'm just gonna shoot
for the ceiling because five or six points is not
winning your matchup. If that's the difference, then, like you
had other problems.
Speaker 1 (49:24):
Yeah, Fitz, does a potential negative game script for Taij.
Spears lead to More's pass catching and make him the
better play over Tes for you? Or is it still ts?
Speaker 3 (49:33):
You could tell that story, Seth. But as intrigued as
I am by TAIJ. Spears and his skill set, I
do not want to play a platoon running back on
a team with an implied Vegas point total of thirteen
and a half points going up against Seattle, which has
one of the best defenses in the league. So yeah,
I know Tes bricked last week. But he had been
pretty steady over the previous month. I'm I'm with Jake
(49:56):
on TZ here.
Speaker 1 (49:58):
Okay, here's another flex discs rush Darnell Mooney ECR Wide
Receiver thirty three at New Orleans. This guy's been absolutely atrociou.
I don't think he's at double digit points all season long,
but the opportunity is there suddenly with Kirk o Chains
back under center, Zonovan Knight AK Bam Knight e CR
RB thirty one, He's going up against Jacksonville in a
good matchup, maybe a Trey bentson sighting, We're not totally
(50:20):
sure with that, so fits, I know this is probably
a loaded one, but Knight against Mooney, what do you have?
Speaker 4 (50:25):
All Right?
Speaker 3 (50:25):
So I am going to rank Bam Knight as if
Trey Benson's not playing this week. Okay, I am still
gonna go with Mooney, and I know he has been
banged up and ineffective this season, and I think Kirk
Cousins looks pretty cooked at this point. But maybe, just
maybe Darnell Mooney gets like half of the sort of
usage bump we saw with Michael Wilson last year with
(50:46):
the number one receiver out of the picture, no Drake London.
Maybe Mooney gets ten targets and does something with them.
I'm just not that excited about playing Bam Knight against
a pretty tough Jacksonville run defense. The Jags have a
lot of the fourth fewest fantasy points per game. It's
running back, So I'll go Mooney here.
Speaker 1 (51:03):
Jake, we obviously didn't know about the injury to Darnell
Mooney being as collarbone. We knew he was banged up
in the preseason. Comes out later in the season that
he actually suffered a broken bone in that collarbone. So
what are your thoughts here on Mooney and Zonovan Knight.
Speaker 2 (51:18):
Yeah, I want to sound like I'm straddling the fence
and taking the pass on this one, but I get
Fit's argument, and this one comes down to, basically, this
is where I would say, if you need the floor,
it's with Bam Knight, mostly because it's no Benson assumably
as of today, but no Benson, and we already know
de Mercado's out, so like we know BAM's going to
get the workload. But it's now we're talking about the
(51:40):
conversation I just have with Spears. Now we are talking
eight ten, maybe even twelve points. But if you need
the ceiling play with Darnell Mooney, the risk is that
Darnal Mooney, even with all that volume and all that attention,
and that Kirk Cousins is toast and he puts up
a shakiir like game, Like that's just the risk here.
Speaker 1 (51:55):
Yeah, and keep in mind too, Bam Knight had like
a sixty yard run for a touchdown called back last
He would have even had a bigger week. So I
do agree. I think he is the floor play, but
ceiling probably does lie with Mooney. Let's go to quarterbacks
Jacoby Brissett e CRQB ten against Jacksonville and Baker Mayfield.
So I'm surprised we're having this discussion. But e CRQB
thirteen at the Rams, Jake Brissett, Baker, how do you
(52:18):
sort this one out?
Speaker 2 (52:19):
Oh, Baker started running again last week. I get the matchup,
but we just played this game with l like last week. Like,
I don't understand the hate for Baker Mayfield. He had
two bad games, but that was his two bad games
of the season. He's been a QB one and top
ten almost the entire rest of the year. And if
he's gonna start running again. I mean, that was the
(52:40):
appeal that we had for Baker Mayfield for last year.
Carrying over to this season, I understand the appeal at
Jacoby Brissette, but at the same time, We've said it
multiple times on this show. FETs has even just said
it just now, is that the Jaguars defense is underrated
as an aspect of the fact that they're a pretty
tough defense to face. And I'm not scared of the Jaguars,
but I'm just at the same time, like, even if
(53:01):
Brissett throws forty times, that doesn't necessarily mean as good
as Brissette looks. As somebody on this very episode talked
positively about Brissett that I want to start perset over
Baker Mayfield. I trust Baker Mayfield. I had him as
a top ten I was one of the highest people
on Baker Mayfield last week. And I'm not saying to
be like ha ha, It's just it felt weird, like
why do we keep downing Baker Mayfield, Like he's not
(53:23):
going to be perfect, Kubre are not going to be perfect,
but I trust him.
Speaker 1 (53:27):
Yeah, Fits, this is the usually the spot you like
Baker right an underdog teams a little banged up going
on the road, and he's gonna like that. Do you
like him enough over Brissett though I don't.
Speaker 2 (53:37):
I am going to take Brissette.
Speaker 4 (53:39):
Oh yay.
Speaker 3 (53:39):
So I mean, one of the things with Baker Mayfield
Jake is that over his last four games five point
seven yards per pass attempt. Like the Buccaneers passing game
has been kind of dysfunctional lately, and the Rams defense
like that. They are a tough matchup, fifth lowest opponent
passer rating in the league, and they're giving up the
sixth fewest fans points per game the quarterbacks. Now, I
(54:02):
agree with you that maybe the Jags d is a
little underrated, although I think part of the reason it's
fared well and why the Jags are pretty good an
opponent passer rating is like they've they've had a lot
of takeovers or takeaways this year, turnovers. So they are, however,
giving up twenty point seven fantasy points per game to quarterbacks,
fifth most in the league, and the Jaguars have a
(54:24):
run funnel defense, teams are throwing on them sixty three
point six percent of the time. Only the Colts have
faced a higher passing rate by opponents. So I'm gonna
go with Brissette here. I just I think there is
a good chance that we get those forty plus pass
attempts from him.
Speaker 1 (54:38):
All right, what about these tight ends? And there are
a couple of tight ends that a couple of years
ago we were drafting as tight end two, tight end three,
and now we're just saying, can we start them? Kyle
Pitts ECR tighten nine at the Saints and Mark Andrews
ECR tightened eleven against the New York Jets. Fits Andrews, Pits.
How do you see this one shaking out?
Speaker 3 (54:58):
I'm going Pits. I mean, i'd do you think Mark
Andrews has the better odds of scoring a touchdown? But
the sure target and reception outlook is just far, far
better for Kyle Pitts. With Drake London out of the
picture this week, Okay.
Speaker 2 (55:10):
What about you, Jake, Yeah, I'm going to Pitts slightly
over Mark Andrews. But I mean, Mark Andrews has the
touchdown outside, Pitts has the assumed volume. But Kirk Cousins
wasn't a huge fan of Pits before when he was there.
But we do have no Drake London. So it's assumed
that he's going to be the number two, but I
have him super close. If you want to argue for
Andrews that this is one where like it's almost a
toss up in my own heart.
Speaker 1 (55:32):

Speaker 2 (56:08):
Who do you have?
Speaker 3 (56:10):
I say that Aaron Jones gets into the end zone
against his old team in Green Bay, and we will
get a moment of suspense as Jones decides whether to
do the Lamba leap as over the enemy side I
think he'll do a Lamba leap if he scores.
Speaker 1 (56:24):
Okay, I am going with my hometown boy, DK Metcalf.
He's going off plus one sixty for an any time
touchdown if you want to bet it. And as I
mentioned earlier, Christmas came early for the Yinsers. I don't
think Mason Rudolph at quarterback in Chicago's gonna be such
a bad thing. If you go back, you know, I'm
peeling back the curtain a little bit all the way
to twenty thirteen. But if you go all the way
back there, George Pickens, who's a similar style wide receiver
(56:47):
to Metcalf, in two or three games to end the season.
With Mason Rudolph in that twenty twenty three season, he
was an absolute stud. He had one game four for
one to ninety five on six targets, two touchdowns, seven
for one thirty one on nine targets. Rudolph's just it's
a very comfortable quarterback playing in this Steeler system, even
though it's different than when he used to be here.
But I think he plays in timing well. I think
(57:07):
he hit Dk on a slant that goes all the way.
So teams X wide receivers. They've gone over fifty yards
receiving in five straight games against the Bears. They have
found the end zone four times in that span as well. Jake,
where are you going on your touchdown call? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (57:20):
I mean it's tight end, so why not just go
super deep on this one? And I'm looking at the
targets from last week in a similar situation. I like
attacking the Eagles defense for tight ends when we can,
and I'm attacking the Giants because there's a similar tight
end defense where like they just get that open space,
especially since they lost Numan and with a it doesn't
look like Hollin's necessarily one hundred percent coming back from
his injury, and tight ends have started doing more against
(57:42):
them in the second half of the season when they
started having all his injuries. But brock Right seven targets
last week, and I'm not saying like, oh, he's guaranteed
to have seven targets again, But going against the Giants defense,
if I'm gonna like a sleeper deep tight end call
at tight end, I don't want to take the obvious
ones because every time I take the obvious one, the
obvious one does hit anyway. So I'm going brock right
to get into the end zone against the Giants as
(58:04):
and I mean it's Dan Campbell and Jared Goff. You
don't think that coming off that shellac Well, I mean
just I don't even call it a shillaki and it's
just nothing was good in that game. They don't want
to put up forty points in their following game, as
in just to be like, haha, We're still the Lions
at home. Yeah, I'll take this game.
