look at the bottom half and what those names look
like or the tight ends and what the bottom half
look like for today?
Speaker 2 (00:29):
Oh man, I think I might actually feel better about
tight ends.
Speaker 3 (00:33):
Also, I think so too. There's more like of a
clear cut.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
Halves and have not I think at that position than
there is at quarterback.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
And hopefully we can answer some of those halves and
have notts for you guys. So we're going to be

(02:09):
Built belt and flex on your entire league cannot say
the word belt, So I'm not going to be a
winner of it this week. All right, Let's get into
the ranks. Quarterbacks top twelve. Josh Allen comes in at
number one on the consensus, Lamar Jackson at two, Jalen Hurts,
Justin Herbert at four, Caleb Williams at five. Things are
changing Drake May at six, Patrick Mahomes, Jordan Love, Daniel Jones,
(02:32):
bo Nix, Baker Mayfield, and Kyler Murray. Doesn't help when
two of the top five quarterbacks are not on this list.
That's how. That's a little bit how guys like Herbert
and Caleb Williams drop on this. Let's talk about Drake
May here for a second. As you mentioned at the top,
you feel better about the consistency of the quarterback are
the tight ends. The quarterbacks definitely have some questions in here.
(02:54):
I mean, Caleb would be another one where you're just like, WHOA,
he's way up there. But Drake May dropping another like
top seven or eight start I think really stands out.
He's going up against Carolina. It is the only five
star rating of the top twelve quarterbacks ECR six. Rickson's
got him at five. Fitzy, you have him at six.
(03:14):
I might have him a little bit low. I got
him at seven. The reason I want to talk about
him over like Herbert specifically because Herbert's played so good.
It's a great matchup Caleb with the big performance this
week is should we be considering that you were one
hundred percent right in the offseason Fitzy, that like Drake
May just might be a guy we need to consider
in the top seven or eight every single week, and
(03:35):
he's kind of continuously doing it. And this this matchup
doesn't hurt by any means. But Drake May, you are
going to be starting over a lot of quarterbacks that
were drafted before him in the preseason.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
And you need to get with the program. Welsh.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
I mean, May is tied for QB six and fantasy scoring,
and you are just way down at QB seven, you're obviously.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
Disappointed eight or No.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
It's like, I feel like Drake May has kind of
established himself already as a sort of set it and
forget it quarterback, and maybe like where he was drafted
kind of around like the QB one QB two border,
maybe a lot of people have like other quarterbacks who
are are pretty decent, like Dak Prescott types or Jared
(04:18):
Goff types, and like, I don't know, I just think
you're playing May over guys like that.
Speaker 3 (04:22):
Every week.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
I think he's looked terrific, like seventy two point six
percent completion rate, a solid seven point four yards per
pass attempt, a passer rating of one oh one point three,
which ranks ninth. He just finds the open man and
then he's really accurate. Like he threw a pass last
week too. I think it was just kind of like
a little out ruh, not even like an out, but
(04:45):
I think it was Hunter Henry was just kind of
drifting towards the sideline and like May had to just
feather this thing in. Like he's got really good touch
and he adds rushing value twenty nine rushing yards per
game so far this season, with one touchdown ron. I
just think this guy is really good.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
Drake Man, keep feathering it. Brother, Jordan Love quarterback eight.
You've got him at seven or now Erickson has him
a seven, you have him met ten. I think one
of the big takeaways here for Jordan Love is more
about Dallas and maybe that's a better way, is it.
The takeaway is that you just got to start whatever
quarterbacks went against dllas their defense is garbage garbage. Even
(05:25):
though you know the Packers offense still has like questions
and how they're passing the ball. The one thing you
can do against Dallas is past the ever living hell
out of the ball. I really like Matthew Golden. Actually
this week we didn't talk about him in the wide
receiver episodes. Is you starting to get involved past you know,
like the big air yard stuff a dot like that's
something that Matthew Golden can kind of thrive in and
(05:47):
you can do that against Dallas. So, Jordan Love, I
think based off of just how bad Dallas is, he's
a top ten. You agree you've got him at ten.
You're just a little bit lower than consensus, and you're
a Packer fans. So is this self hating or is
this just like the weapons usage, and maybe they'll just
be able to run a lot of Josh Jacobs on Dallas.
Speaker 2 (06:03):
It's not self hating, I know the Dallas pass defense
has been just completely abysmal. The Cowboys are giving up
a league worst nine point eight yards per pass attempt.
The next worst team, the Patriots, are at nine point two.
And the Cowboys do get cornerback to around bland back
this week. He's their best cover guy. That should help
(06:25):
a little. But I'm I'm just a little worried about
Love supporting cast Welsh Like no Zach Tom their best
offensive lineman, their right tackle he got hurt on the
first play of the game last week against Cleveland. Probably
no Aaron Banks, one of their starting guards.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
No Jayden Reid.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
So they're lacking a little bit of pass catching firepower.
And we saw the passing game struggle last week against
the Cleveland pass rush, like they were just having a
hard time keeping those guys off. Jordan Love and yes,
this is a much easier matchup. The Browns have a
time defense the Cowboys do not. But I just wonder
if Jordan Love is really sort of equipped to dice
(07:06):
up this Cowboys pass defense with all this firepower he's.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
Lacking a Baker Mayfield quarterback eleven? Should you start him?
Fitzy and Rickson are pretty much saying, no, fitz You've
got him at sixteen, Ericson's got him at seventeen. It's
a bad matchup against the Eagles. Outside the top fifteen
to me kind of starts to speak of like just
find other options. And I think you guys in your
ranks clearly are throwing out some of those names that
(07:32):
are more important. So let's just get you quick take
on it. Baker Mayfield does not feel like a start
this week.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
Another quarterback with a very injury depleted starting cast. No
Mike Evans he's out with the hamstring injury. Cody Mock
and Luke Godkey to starting offensive linemen both just went
on injured reserve this week. Now, on the bright side,
the Buccaneers might be getting Tristan Whurf's back, one of
the best left left tackles in the game.
Speaker 3 (07:59):
That would really help.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
It might be getting Chris Godwin back, although who knows
if he'll play a full compliment of snaps right away,
but yeah, at least Love gets the easy matchup. Baker
Mayfield certainly does not get that against the Eagles.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
Another one, but this isn't going to be you and ericson.
Kyler Murray comes in a twelve on the list. Erickson's
got him at eleven, but you have got him down
at seventeen, so you've got him one spot lower than Baker.
So to fits the question, do you start Kyler Murray?
You say no, not if you can help it.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
This is largely about matchup. For me, the Seattle defense
is really really underrated. The Seahawks ranked ninth in DVA
against the pass. They're only giving up six point four
yards per pass attempt. They have the sixth best opponent
passer rating in the league. They have five interceptions, and
they've only allowed four touchdown passes. Kyler is averaging six
(08:52):
point one yards per attempt. He has two viable pass catchers,
Trey McBride and Marvin Harrison, and it's not like Marvin
Harrison g as exactly lived up to expectations so far
this season. So Kyler does add some rushing value, but man,
I just I hate this matchup for him.
Speaker 1 (09:10):
What we don't hate are the tight end ranks. We
feel pretty good about the top twelve let's take a
look at what those are this week, coming in at
number one, Trey McBride, Rock Bowers at number two, Tyler
Warren at three, Tucker Craft, Jake Ferguson at five, Sam Laporta, Hunter,
Henry Dalton, kN K, t J. Howkinson, Juwan Johnson, Travis Kelsey,
and Zach Ertz. So for the most part, we kind
(09:30):
of know what we're getting out of those names. Jake
Ferguson is going to jump out to a lot of people.
He's ECR five. Rickson's got him at four, You've got
him at six, I've got him at four. What Dak
proved While George Pickens' inability to be one of those
kind of just short in and out like what Ceedee
Lamb can do that, he's gonna go to Jake Ferguson.
If you give him Ferguson, he's gonna take it. It
(09:51):
did not equate to wins. I think more teams are
gonna say beat us with Ferguson instead of beating us
with Pickens. I think we are going to continue seeing
massive amounts of targets for Jake fergus And so I'm
aggressive on him. You're not as aggressive as ECR, but
he's still going as a top six tight end, so
that's a must start this week.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
I'm just trying to prove him not a Wisconsin Homer
Welsh by not ranking this former Wisconsin Badger as high
as ECR. But and that's mainly it that he just
doesn't really do much after the catch, Like Jake Ferguson
is kind of the classic catch and fall down tight end.
But the volume thirty two targets already this season, twelve
(10:29):
against the Giants in Week two, fourteen against the Bears
in Week three. Jake Ferguson has twenty two catches over
the last two weeks. He's on pace Welsh for one
hundred and fifty three receptions this season.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
Wonderful get there.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
No CD LAMB, so obviously that enhances the target outlook
for Jake Ferguson this week. And as good as the
Packers have been against the pass this season, they've actually
been kind of soft against tight ends. They've given up
the sixth most fantasy points the tight ends.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
Here. Well, I'll give you this. According to PFF, here
are the different positional coverage ratings versus tight ends for
the Packers. They rank for linebackers thirtieth of thirty two
covering tight ends, safeties thirtieth of thirty two, and twenty
six of thirty two at cornerback. So I mean near
(11:20):
the worst at every single position that is lining up
on tight ends to a team that is going to
first read Jake Ferguson First. Jake Ferguson to me is
a smash, especially in full PPR for this week. Love
going Fergy Another tight end, Hunter Henry, who got Ton
targets Ton touchdown ECR tight end seven. Rickson's got him
at ten, You've got him at five. So kind of
(11:41):
our Ferguson hype. You're kind of throwing into Hunter Henry,
which is fair when you talk about, you know you
love of Drake May. Henry is clearly like the number one.
They got all these fun receivers. Digs is fun, Booty's fun.
They just don't get targets. Henry does.
Speaker 2 (11:54):
Yeah, and Henry is currently the tight end one and
a half point PPR Fantasy scoring like thirteen, which is
one hundred and sixty five yards two touchdowns on twenty
two targets. He and Drake May seem to have some
really nice chemistry and like I'm not trying to overreact
to the fast start, but like this, this matchup is
great too, Welsh, and this is the reason I have
(12:16):
Hunter Henry ranked ahead of Jake Ferguson. Like as, even
though the Packers are not like I wouldn't say they're
a smash matchup, they have not done well against tight
end so far this season. But like, you're not necessarily
targeting the Packers with tight ends, You're absolutely targeting the
Carolina Panthers U with your tight ends. Like they gave
(12:38):
up the most fantasy points to tight ends in twenty
twenty four, They've geting up the eighth most fantasy points
to tight end so far this year. So great matchup
and a great start for Hunter Henry.
Speaker 3 (12:48):
I just thank you. Let's keep the train on the
tracks here with Hunter Henry.
Speaker 1 (12:53):
Last tight end we'll talk about is a guy that
did not make the top twelve after having a smash
Week three. That's Mark Andrews. He comes in at tight
end fourteen. Fitz You've got him at eleven. Ericson's got
him at eight. That game kind of cures a lot
of it. You're going up against Kansas City in a
tougher matchup against tight ends. You tell me, though, Mark
Andrews not making the top twelve, How egregious is that
(13:14):
to you? After the Week three performance of Andrews.
Speaker 2 (13:17):
He should be in the top twelve, Like, stop fading
this guy. He is a very good touchdown scorer. It's
just the yardage, Like this was I think Mark Andrews'
best yardage game since twenty twenty three. Like I know
he didn't. I don't think he even got to seventy
yards in any game in twenty twenty four, so we
can't really count on this sort of yardage. But like
(13:37):
you're always getting pretty good odds of a touchdown with
Mark Andrews. It's just the production is gonna be a
little sporadic if he doesn't get into the end zone
just because the Ravens are so run heavy.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
And shout out to Mark Andrews said this before, but
my alma materor my high school, so he's the most
was the famous person from my high school. We did
ald segment on it on a Discord show. Who's the
most famous athlete from your high school? You drop into
the comments below if you just get a bunch of interactions,
So shout out to Mark Andrews on that. All right,
there you go. Those are the top twelve, quarterbacks, top twelve,
and a little bit beyond tight ends fantasypros dot com
(14:08):
slash rankings. If you want to kind of peruse more,
I know tight ends and quarterbacks we do a little
bit less on here. We're doing the starters, but there
are other plays that are in and the ranks are
gonna move. You can check out where we've individually got them.
But I think that kind of sets you guys up
for the week, and that's gonna do it. For Pat Fitzmorris,
I'm Chris Welsh. Thank you guys so much for hanging
out with us. Good luck in week four and we'll
talk to you next time right here on Fantasy Pros.
