Speaker 1 (00:00):
First Date is follow up powered by the Advocates Injury
Attorneys online at Advocatesla dot com.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Amanda is on the phone today for our first Day
follow up, and she's getting ghosted by a guy named Kyle.

Speaker 3 (00:10):
So in a few minutes we're gonna call him and.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
See if he'll tell us why he's ghosting her and
maybe get her a second date. But first, Amanda, how
long has it been since her from Kyle?

Speaker 4 (00:18):
Hi, guys, it's been a few weeks.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
Now, Okay, that's a good amount of time.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
What is it about Kylie you want to get a
hold of so bad?

Speaker 4 (00:27):
Oh my goodness, It's like it's really rare. I think
that you meet someone Mike Kyle. We had this lovely
first date and really just lovely connection, and I think
it would be a real shame if we don't reconnect
in that way. I don't know, it's just something felt
really right.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
What felt so right that you just don't want to
kind of move on to the next person?

Speaker 4 (00:49):
I mean, okay, is it helpful to just explain everything
that went down? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (00:55):
Okay, So I.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
Don't date very much. I'm a single parents, but I
met him at this basketball game our kids there are
little they're like five and they're in this little basketball league.
And you know, we were there on a Saturday and
we're both cheering and we ended up just sort of
bonding and talking about being single parents and just then
a general chaos of life.

Speaker 5 (01:16):
And he just he's so charming.

Speaker 4 (01:18):
He wanted about a three guys, but he really is.
We just totally hit it off. And then, you know,
nobody who asked somebody out anymore, like in person, like
when does that happen? But he asked me out to
dinner and was like, you know, when we don't have
the kids, let's go out. And that's a huge step
for me, Like I haven't been out at all since
my ex husband, and so I was pretty special, and

(01:39):
I mean.

Speaker 5 (01:39):
He planned the whole date, total gentleman about it. He
took me to a steakhouse. He was had a fancy.

Speaker 4 (01:46):
And we were we just had a great conversation. We
were talking at one point and I was like talking
so much that I blew the little like tea light
candle out in front of us, and he was like,
oh and he got up, but he's got another.

Speaker 5 (01:55):
One, which was so cute.

Speaker 4 (01:59):
Yeah, he know, it's a lot about wine and he's
just really cultured in that way, and so he picked
a great wine for us, and she just felt like
a real instant connection. A lot of laughing there was
also so random, but maybe not random. He's good at
planning dates, I guess. But there was like a band
that played. It was a very old school vibe, and
we ordered dessert and that was nice enough for me,

(02:19):
but she literally grabbed my hands and we started dancing
wow to the live music, and you know, we had
a sea glass was wide at that boy. But the
wine was great and the music was great, and it
was such a great night, and I really loved how
I felt when.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
I was with him. That's romantic. I mean, sounds like
an excellent day. Do we know he's single? He said,
he has a kid.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
I mean one of the benefits of the Little League,
so to speak, that we're all a part of is
that I definitely have read it with other parents that
he is single. Yeah, you know, there was just some
cttling and gifting on that first date, and I thought, Okay,
they're definitely going to do this again.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
So why do you think you know?

Speaker 4 (02:59):
I mean I thought a lot about it, and really
only like a couple of things. I mean, you know,
everybody has their in securities, Like I definitely I'm like, oh,
you know, maybe he wasn't attracted to me, or any
of those things have gone through my head. But the
big one is, oh, man, I can't believe I'm saying
this on the radio. But I reached over and I
cut his steak for him at the stake, Like I
instinctively went to cut the steak at the steakhouse. Wow.

Speaker 5 (03:20):
And I It's just it was just course of habit,
you know.

Speaker 4 (03:23):
I have a little one and I when I pulled back,
I was like, oh, sorry, I'm a virgin.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
And I.

Speaker 5 (03:32):
Was totally a joke. I was just was like, oh,
I'm a virgin. Sorry about that. Like I'm new to this,
you know.

Speaker 4 (03:43):
Madonna would call me I feel like a virgin again.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
Like I'm very like new to this again. Yeah, I
don't know if I would ghost you over that, you know.

Speaker 5 (03:51):
Yeah, we laughed it off.

Speaker 4 (03:52):
I don't think it's ghosting material, but.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
I mean I hope not.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
He might have been alarmed though by somebody reaching over
to touch his steak. But I used to hang out
with this couple and she would kind his stake every
single time they went.

Speaker 3 (04:02):
Out, like he'd wait to eat. Really it huh? It
was weird.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
Yeah, okay, well we'll see if that is the thing.
We'll plas on comeback and then call him and see
if he'll tell us why he's ghosting you. Okay, okay,
so all right, we'll see if we can get you
a second date and your first date follow up coming
up next.

Speaker 6 (04:22):
Right in the.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
Middle of your first date follow up and if you're
just joining us, Amanda is on the phone and she's
getting ghosted by Kyle. So we're about to call him
and see if he'll tell us why he's ghostinger and
maybe get her a second date. But first, Amanda, why
don't you break down your date with Kyle one more
time for us real quick before we call him.

Speaker 4 (04:37):
Yeah, I met this guy at our kids basketball game.
He took me out for dinner. It was super nice.
It's been a couple of weeks and I texted him.
I literally saw him after the next basketball game and
he's like rushed away and it was super weird. So yeah,
we just love to know what happened and what I did.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
Okay, Well, are you ready for us to call him?

Speaker 5 (04:55):
Yeah, I guess.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
So all right, here we go. Hi, I speak to Kyle. Please,
this is speak Hey Kyle, how are you? This is
a radio show. It's called The Jubil Show.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
Hi, Kyle, I'm na.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
Hi, I'm Victoria and my name is Jubil. How are you?
I'm okay, not much. Have you ever heard the show before?

Speaker 6 (05:24):
Uh?

Speaker 5 (05:24):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
Okay, great, Well, Kyle, we got an email about you
from somebody.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
That's why we're on the phone. Okay.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
So, I don't know if you've heard the segment that
we do the first eight follow up where if you
get ghosted, you can email us and we'll call the
person who ghosted you and ask why they're ghosting.

Speaker 5 (05:44):
Oh wow, okay, so we got it's Amanda.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
We talked to Amanda a little bit about your date.
She said that it was very romantic, awesome actually yea,
but says that you're not calling her back and she
doesn't know why.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
Can you tell us?

Speaker 5 (06:03):
Oh boy, I don't.

Speaker 6 (06:06):
Okay, So our kids play in the same basketball league together.
I'm sure you know she probably right.

Speaker 5 (06:15):
Yeah, we went out. It was a lovely time.

Speaker 6 (06:18):
It was really nice and uh, you know, I just uh,
I'm looking for something different. I'm a single dad and
I want to have fun and she just uh and here,
she's a great mom, but my kids got a mom
and I kind of just want a girlfriend.

Speaker 5 (06:32):
And she's uh, I just noticed she was.

Speaker 6 (06:34):
Sort of in mom mode all the time. That well,
she's really caring, she's really affectionate. I had a really
good time, but uh, she just can't cut loose. She's
very uh, well, she was kind of high strung and well,
to be honest, I wound up going out with one
of the other women from the basketball league.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
Oh, Amanda's Yeah, she's actually I don't know if you
remember these or not, but she's on the phone and
wants to talk to you, and obviously it's curious about.

Speaker 3 (07:05):
Who you are now with.

Speaker 6 (07:06):
Oh yeah, no, I uh, I forgot Hi.

Speaker 7 (07:15):
Hi wait sorry, So you know I've been better. You're
noticing me because I'm too much of a mom. Is
that like, is that what we're going with here?

Speaker 4 (07:27):
No?

Speaker 5 (07:28):
Look, okay, yeah, no, you're really sweet.

Speaker 6 (07:31):
I just uh, I'm not really dating to find a
partner right now. I'm just dating to have fun. And
you know, I think it's awesome.

Speaker 5 (07:38):
I think you're you're a great parent, but I really
just need.

Speaker 6 (07:42):
A girlfriend and uh you know, I'm uh you just.

Speaker 4 (07:46):
There want someone to take shots and you know, forget
their responsibility, forget their kids. And yeah, no that makes
total sense.

Speaker 5 (07:53):
I was like a mom, No, no, no, no.

Speaker 6 (07:56):
I I can relax, I can have a good time.
I can be dad and I can just be a man.
And you know, you're just you're a mom, and that's awesome.
But I need a woman who's more than just you know,
just one thing.

Speaker 4 (08:12):
That's so good, Kyle, you're a dad, like I have
to remind you of that you are a dad, you.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
Are a parent.

Speaker 6 (08:19):
K Okay, Look, I can go out, I can have
fun with people, and I don't need.

Speaker 5 (08:24):
To just be a dad all the time.

Speaker 6 (08:26):
I look, sweetheart, I contain multitudes, right.

Speaker 5 (08:30):
I need a woman who does that too.

Speaker 1 (08:31):
I don't think you can say sweetheart like that and
then say I can be a dad and a man too.
I mean, aren't you a dad all the time. You're
a mom all the time if you have children. But
I understand what you mean by being able to separate
being a person, but I don't know that that's really
what you're saying. You're saying you just kind of want
somebody reckless has nothing to do with it.

Speaker 5 (08:49):
Oh, not reckless.

Speaker 6 (08:51):
I mean what I care about my kids. I think
you know it's not about that. But if I'm going
out with a woman, I I don't want to just
talk about them all the time.

Speaker 5 (09:01):
And I mean, it was kind of weird to try
to cut my food up for me. Who did you
go out with?

Speaker 4 (09:08):
Can you just tell me that?

Speaker 5 (09:12):
Lisa?

Speaker 4 (09:13):
Sorry, Lisa the twenty two year old referee at the
basketball games.

Speaker 5 (09:18):
She's literally not a Oh it's that makes perfect sense. Okay, cool, yeah, okay.

Speaker 4 (09:29):
So clearly you're just you're a dad who wants to
date somebody who's like basically your daughter.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
Oh, Kyle, would you like to go with it out
with a Manda again on a second day?

Speaker 3 (09:40):
We'll pay for it.

Speaker 5 (09:42):
Oh wow.

Speaker 6 (09:44):
Uh sounds very very tempting. Now you guys, why don't
you guys all go out together? That sounds like a
good time does Yeah? Well, thanks thanks for calling. I
appreciate it.

Speaker 5 (09:56):
Yeah, and you have fun.

Speaker 4 (09:57):
Being the oldest man at an EDM show comes up.
