First Day to follow Up powered by the Advocates Injury
Attorneys online at adjocuslaw dot com.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Anton is on the phone today for a first date
follow up, and he's getting ghosted by a woman named Jade.
So in a few minutes we'll call her and see
if she'll tell us why she's ghosting him and maybe
get him a second date. But first, Anton, how long
has it been since you heard from Jade?

Speaker 3 (00:22):
About one week?

Speaker 2 (00:23):
About a week? Okay, well tell us about it. What
was what was the day with Jade?

Speaker 4 (00:27):
Like?

Speaker 3 (00:28):
Yeah, it was, uh, it was cool.

Speaker 5 (00:30):
It was cool. You know, we met up this uh
this really you know, low key spot. I got like
you know, like light foods and some cocktails and they
had cool cables.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
You know, we were gonna play some cool we we're
just by them. You know. The lighting was damn, music's good.
She's gorgeous.

Speaker 5 (00:51):
She's absolutely gorgeous, and like you know, she's she's got
her pool queue there and.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
And she's like leaning against it. I swear like it
looked like like a night magazine cover. She's she's that gorgeous.

Speaker 5 (01:03):
You know, we're playing cool, right, And it was one
of these tricky these shots you can't like get it
the right way. So I was like, I was gonna
do it like a behind the back kind of shot.
You know, I must have hit the wrong angle, you know,
because the ball just went it went flying, and so
it went into this this booth that there's this other

(01:25):
couple in this booth, and it knocked over this girl's drink. Yeah,
so you know, I felt horrible, So, you know, I
so I go over there, and you know, I apologize
and and and she was, you know, she was a
little upset and and you know, understandably, so so you know,

(01:45):
I bought her another drink and I bought you know,
the whole table around a shot.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
And I apologize and and you know, Jade is still
over there by by the pool table, and she's, you know,
she's looking horrified.

Speaker 5 (01:59):
But you know, I once I settle everything down, I
go back over to her and she's she's joking around
about it. You know, she called she called me, h,
mister trick shot after that, which is you know, I mean,
what can you do about those kinds of you have
to laugh?

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Yeah, you know.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
Yeah, the whole.

Speaker 5 (02:17):
Thing was that we we had we had chemistry, you know,
we we were we we had food and you know,
neither of us are really great.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
That pooled me especially, you know.

Speaker 5 (02:27):
Uh, and then yeah, you after the last game, we
just we hugged, she said. I remember, she said that
I was unexpectedly charming. Unexpectedly charming, you know, but that
charming parts.

Speaker 6 (02:43):
In there, the things that we hold onto, you know,
in those moments that just make you.

Speaker 5 (02:47):
Feel, you know, I'm I'm looking for for something and
she is, you know obviously too. So uh today, in
the past couple of days, and I'm getting nothing texting back,
you know, And I've been and here's the thing I've been,
I've been like replating it in my mind. I'm like,
did I did I mess Did I mess up?

Speaker 4 (03:07):
Like?

Speaker 5 (03:07):
Did I did I say something rude or or or
you know, did I that I look like a like
a like a jerk.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
Or something, you know?

Speaker 1 (03:13):
Like?

Speaker 3 (03:14):
And I look.

Speaker 5 (03:15):
I realized, I've got like a like a goofy energy
about me, you know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (03:20):
And and I I understand that that's who I who
I am. And but I mean she seemed like into that.

Speaker 5 (03:27):
You know. We're kind of like I said, we were.
We were we were vibing, and we were laughing, and
she's got this great like like like gut laugh that
you know comes from like deep insight, and it's I
don't know.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
I don't, I don't, I don't know what happened.

Speaker 5 (03:40):
So uh, I'm trying to figure out what what did
I do?

Speaker 6 (03:44):
You know?

Speaker 3 (03:45):
Uh, that's where we're at right now.

Speaker 6 (03:47):
Well, you definitely sound like you're really into her, So
was there did she act weird at any point, like
after you were confronting some lady or like yeah.

Speaker 5 (03:56):
No, I mean I wasn't like you know, like pulling
a crack out, you know, you know what I mean,
or like are picking my mellor, And you know, it
was it was like a really really solid first date.
It was probably the first really great, solid date I've
had in a long time. And that's why I'm you know,
I'm trying to figure out, Wait, what what the heck happened?

Speaker 1 (04:16):
All Right, Well we'll see if we can help you out.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
We'll play a song, come back, and then call her
and see if she'll tell us why she's ghosting you
and maybe gets you another date.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
Okay, yeah, you know that they'd be uh yeah, all.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Right, we'll get your first day follow up next right
in the middle of your first date follow up and
if you're just joining us. Anton is on the phone
and Anton is getting ghosted by a woman named Jadeen.
We're about to call her and see if she'll tell
us why she's ghosting him and maybe get him a
second date. But before we do that, Anton, why don't

(04:47):
you break down your date again for.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
Us real quick?

Speaker 3 (04:50):
Yeah. We we went out.

Speaker 5 (04:52):
We played cool, we were really vibing, and I thought
everything was going great. I made one bad shot. No, no, really,
but it was It's all great. We you know, we
hogged afterwards. We said that, you know, we'll talk and
then I've you know, tried to reach out a couple
of times now and I'm I'm getting nothing, so uh

(05:14):
ting to figure out what's what's going on?

Speaker 1 (05:15):
All right? Well, are you ready for us to call her?

Speaker 3 (05:18):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (05:19):
Yeah, okay, Hello, Hi, I'm asking to Jade please.

Speaker 5 (05:32):
Hey.

Speaker 4 (05:32):
This is Jane.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
Hey Jade, how are you. This is a radio show
and it's called the Jebel Show.

Speaker 6 (05:37):
Hi, Jade, I'm Nina, Hi or.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
My name is Jubell. How are you?

Speaker 5 (05:41):
Hey?

Speaker 4 (05:42):
I'm good.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
Have you ever listened to the show before?

Speaker 4 (05:47):
I may have, I may have if you haven't.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
I'll just let you know.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
I we're calling. We do a segment on the show
and it's called the first Date follow Up. So that's
where if you go out on a date with somebody
and they end up ghosting you, that person can email
us to call you and ask why you're ghosting them.
And we got an email about you.

Speaker 4 (06:03):
From somebody, Oh my god, Okay, do.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
You know who might email us about you?

Speaker 4 (06:10):
I kind of have an idea. This is kind of awkward.
I did go on a date recently, so yeah, I
didn't want to hurt his feelings.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
His name is Anton, Yeah, and Anton is the person
who emailed us.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
He said he really liked you.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
We talked to him a little bit about your date,
and he was wondering if you wouldn't mind telling us
why you're ghosting him.

Speaker 4 (06:34):
Hmm. I really didn't want to hurt his feelings. I
really didn't.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
So that's why you ghosted him.

Speaker 4 (06:40):
There was one big thing that happened at night. I'll
be honest with you, But the biggest thing of it
all was that he apologized too much.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
He apologized too much.

Speaker 4 (06:52):
Well to me, you always hear about females saying oh, sorry,
I'm sorry about everything. Yeah, don't be sorry, like say
fard for the sake of saying sorry kind of thing.
He did that from the beginning and up until this
big event that happened, Like even when we were ordering
drinks for the bar, bartender comes over, Oh sorry, get
me to interest you, Like he's completly.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
Saying sorry, okay, and that bothered you.

Speaker 6 (07:16):
You want to date somebody that's going to take a
little bit of charge of a situation.

Speaker 4 (07:20):
I kind of get that, yes, exactly, Like didn't have
like masculine trait that I was kind of thinking as
well in terms of that just even doing well, like
in pool, like apologizing oh sorry, like sorry I made
that shot.

Speaker 6 (07:35):
Okay, So he was just apologizing a ton. What did
you say when he kept saying sorry? Were you just
like okay, yeah, I'm like it's that.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
Very it's okay. And about the internet, I'm like, you
can stop saying I'm sorry, don't worry, it's fine, and
like I'm trying to like shoot.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
Him, I'm just trying to make him feel better.

Speaker 2 (07:51):
Was this so he wasn't like just a person who
says like, hey, sorry about that, really upset about it?

Speaker 4 (07:57):
Well, so the place that we went, we played cool,
and the big incident I was kind of mentioning was
he was making a shot and it ended up hitting
another table of people that were enjoying their drinks and chilling.
And yeah, so he had that just turned into like
a bigger deal than it had to be. He ended
up even like feeling like he had to buy them
the whole round of shots replacing the drink, like it's

(08:20):
just over the top.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
Well, he kind of mentioned that.

Speaker 6 (08:22):
I thought that was kind of a nice way to
recover after you disrupt somebody's thing.

Speaker 4 (08:27):
I don't know if I'm being a little cheap here,
but I'm like, you don't need to buy them all
this stuff.

Speaker 3 (08:31):
It was an accident.

Speaker 4 (08:32):
That's why it's called an accident.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (08:34):
Yeah, I just felt like he was going to be
one like a pusher or kind of vibe.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
Okay, that's fair.

Speaker 6 (08:40):
You know, when you're going to bulldoze somebody, that's just
not a good time.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
Well, thank you for telling us, Jade. I appreciate it.
And now I'll let you know that Anton is on
the phone and wants to talk to you.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
Oh wow, okay Anton.

Speaker 5 (08:54):
Yeah, Wait, so I'm polite. That's a bad thing. But
I'm sorry that I don't understand that. It's you know,
I'm being polite and being nice to people, and you know,
sometimes you know, things happen and what are you going
to do?

Speaker 3 (09:09):
You know, I'm sorry, but that's the way things are.

Speaker 4 (09:12):
Anton you literally just said sorry again. By the way, Nathan, listen,
it's not bad. It's just that it's it's a little
bit too much. And I honestly thought you had a
tick at first.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
Yeah, what I.

Speaker 4 (09:26):
Like, it's like a compulsive thing that he had to
like stay and do and so it's not bad, it's
just I can't do that, can't be what.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
What do you even what do you even mean?

Speaker 7 (09:36):
I was being polite, okay, but what about when the
drink got filled over you look like you were kind
of going to get upset about it, like you were
not only embarrassed, but you're like you're gonna cry.

Speaker 3 (09:48):
It's no that that's what I was not about to cry.
That's that's look.

Speaker 5 (09:52):
She she had an issue and I was letting her
vent her frustration to get it out so she could
feel you know, heard about that because you know the
drink is I caused that you know, I spilled her
drink and that's not bad.

Speaker 3 (10:05):
What am I supposed to do?

Speaker 5 (10:06):
You know?

Speaker 3 (10:07):
Just just being and just oh yeah, so what, you know, whatever,
I'm playing pool. You stay over there.

Speaker 5 (10:13):
You know, that's not what I'm about. I'm gonna be polite,
That's what That's the way I was taught Anton.

Speaker 4 (10:20):
There's a difference between being polite and then being a
little a little bit of a bit like you're over
there feeling like I felt like you worked for the
table at one point, like you're trying to wipe up everything.
You didn't ruin anyone's outfit, like you got to think
about the big picture. You're very very dramatic. It's not
even that you're too nice. It's just you're not confident.

Speaker 3 (10:41):
I don't even I don't even know. I don't even
know what. How could you even say that? I would argue,
I'm I'm very confident.

Speaker 4 (10:48):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (10:49):
This is what we're talking about, is you know at
the first date and sometimes and that you know what
that can be, that can be taught. So I don't
know anybody who's you know, running on all full still
and on a you know, I'm sorry, I'm not confident
enough for you. You know, I was just being polite in
front of everybody.

Speaker 4 (11:08):
I mean even I'm not sure if you heard me
when I was speaking with the host, but even when
we ordered drinks. You're apologizing, Oh sorry, like you're you're
a paying customer. You don't to apologize for everything.

Speaker 3 (11:20):
You could be a.

Speaker 5 (11:21):
Paying customer and still have kindness in your heart.

Speaker 2 (11:24):
You know, Shane, would you like to work with Anton
again on the second day?

Speaker 1 (11:29):
We'll pay for it.

Speaker 4 (11:31):
I mean, no, what do you think? No?

Speaker 3 (11:38):
You know good?

Speaker 5 (11:38):
That's that's absolutely you know you know what this is.
This is this is uh, you know, like like a
like danger avoided. Okay, And you know what, Jake, I
think you're gonna you're gonna be fine. I know you're
gonna be absolutely fine. I'm sure you know you'll find
a new date with you know, a little pug nose
and a curly tail and he probably goes point oint.

(11:59):
You know that's gonna be We're going there.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
How's this for being nice?

Speaker 4 (12:04):
Okay?

Speaker 5 (12:04):
For for you, Jade Gears, I got one word for you,
boom and you can take you can take that to
the bank. And you know, and oh, I'm so sorry.
That that I wasn't.

Speaker 3 (12:19):
Even mean enough for it, weren't ridiculous. You don't even know,
well I don't, Yeah, you will.

Speaker 1 (12:29):
