Now she's back to explain why she got major true crime red flags. Was it just a spicy misunderstanding or a one-way ticket to Dateline? First Date follow up powered by the Advocates Injury Attorneys
online at Advocates Law dot com.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Bryce is on the phone today for a first day
follow up and he's getting ghosted by a girl named Crystal,
and he really liked her. So we're about to call
her in a few minutes to see if she'll tell
us why she's ghosting him, but first got to find
out about the date. Bryce, how long has it been
since you heard from Crystal?

Speaker 3 (00:22):
It's been a week.

Speaker 4 (00:23):
What was your communication like leading up to the date.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
We met on hinge and we started messing each other
and like for a good while, I'd said, like a week,
week and a half. We had like a pretty good rapport.
We were messaging each other back and forth. I asked
her out to Wings because she said on her profile
that she's a wing lover, okay, and we played Darts
its Wings and we talked like a lot and even

(00:49):
like we're jokingly very friendly competitive with each other. I
thought she was really cute and I thought we were
vibing a lot, and I liked that she was kind
of shy. She said she was sad for us, and
then she started opening up and like the conversation kept flowing,
so I was like, oh, she's comfortable around me, but

(01:10):
it is good. I'm making her smile. It felt really good,
and she'd actually really get a dart too, which like
you know, made fun, and we even kissed. So after
all that, I'm kind of very confused because like what happens.

Speaker 5 (01:26):
Yeah, a week does seem like a long time not
to hear from somebody. After all that, definitely getting ghosted, sorry,
and it seemed like she really she was into it.
I mean, did anything happen where it got awkward at all?

Speaker 6 (01:37):
No, not at all.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
Like That's what I'm confused about, is like I keep
replaying that night, and I felt like we were bibing
a lot and they were no like red flags from
either side. Never thought she was up uncomfortable, Like quite
the opposite. I felt like we felt like, yeah, we
got along really well.

Speaker 5 (01:57):
But did anything happen you think that maybe made her
feel uncomfort outside of the conversation.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
Well, it was okay. So at one point I feel
like I did get I got hot saus in her
eyes from the wings and I reached Yeah it was
an accident, and I reached over to move the hair
out of her face, that she was taking a bite
and and I must have had sauce on my finger
and I got it in her eye. She was a

(02:24):
good sport about it though, like she took it like
a chance. She went to the bathroom and washed it out.
That hurt, Yeah, yeah, I could tell she was in
pain just for a little bit. And she she joked
about it, and that she she joked that I did
it on purpose to throw her off her dark game.
And I think we laughed, wead we laughed a bunch
about it. Do you think maybe that was what it was.

Speaker 4 (02:49):
For the reason to goes someone? But at the same time.

Speaker 7 (02:53):
Yeah, that's got hurt.

Speaker 4 (02:54):
It hurts a lot, I feel.

Speaker 8 (02:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:57):
I mean maybe was she more hostile.

Speaker 7 (03:01):
You would have been able to come back.

Speaker 5 (03:03):
And yeah, she was shy, So I can't imagine how
a shy, nice person would handle having hot sauce in
their eye on.

Speaker 4 (03:09):
A date make a joke about it.

Speaker 7 (03:13):
Did her mood change after you saw stir.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
Eye for like a little bit, I thought, okay, just
a little bit, like she was obviously, I mean tears
were flowing because of the hot sauce, and but she
was like she was such a good sport about it,
so I doubt that's what it was. But if I
had to put one thing on it like that, and

(03:39):
if it's just a hot it was an accident, I
feel like I deserve another chance.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
Okay, all right, man, we'll play a song come back,
and then call her and see if she'll tell us
why she's ghosting you and maybe get you another date. Okay, okay,
all right, play a song, come back, and get your
first day follow up.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
Next first Date follow Up powered by the Advocates Injury

Speaker 2 (04:00):
If you're just joining us for today's first Date follow Up.
Bryce is on the phone and he went out on
a date with a woman named Crystal. We're about to
call her and see if she'll tell us why she's
ghosting him and maybe get him another date. But first, Bryce,
why don't you catch everybody up on your date with Crystal?

Speaker 7 (04:13):
What happened?

Speaker 3 (04:14):
All right? So we met on hinge, We messaged for
a while in person, we went out for wings because
she likes wings, and we played guards. There was a
good vibe, good conversation, a lot of chemistry, and then
I got hot sauce in her eyes.

Speaker 5 (04:32):
Yeah, you think you deserve a second date despite the
hot there was an accident.

Speaker 7 (04:37):
You didn't spray hot sauce on her eye on purpose.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
No.

Speaker 7 (04:41):
No, For some people that could.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
Be a red flag. For other people, that could be
a turn All right, man, well are you ready for
us to call her?

Speaker 3 (04:48):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (04:49):
Okay, here we go. Hio Hi, man, speak to Crystal. Please.

Speaker 6 (05:03):
This is she.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
Hey Crystal, how are you? My name is Jewbel and
this is a radio show. It's called The Jewbel Show.

Speaker 4 (05:08):
Hi, Crystal, who show is here? My name is Nina.

Speaker 7 (05:12):
Hi, I'm Victoria. How's your eye?

Speaker 6 (05:15):
I'm so sorry. You just really caught me off guard.
This is a radio show.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
Yes, we do a segment on our show. It's called
the first Date follow Up. What that is is if
you want a date with somebody and you and up
ghosting them, that person can ask us to get you
on the phone and ask why you're ghosting them. And
we got an email about you.

Speaker 6 (05:31):
Oh geez from who?

Speaker 3 (05:34):
Well?

Speaker 2 (05:34):
The reason I asked about your I was because when
you were on the date with them, they got hot
sauce in your eye?

Speaker 6 (05:40):
Is this from Bryce?

Speaker 7 (05:42):
Yes?

Speaker 6 (05:44):
Oh my god, Oh my god.

Speaker 8 (05:46):
You know this is Okay, this is creepy, this is
this is freaking me out. Okay, So I don't I
don't really know what I don't. I don't know what
he told you. I don't know why he called a
radio to try to get me to contact him again.

Speaker 4 (06:00):
Hm.

Speaker 6 (06:00):
So okay, I'm just gonna come right out with it.

Speaker 8 (06:03):
That guy gave me for real serial killer vibes.

Speaker 6 (06:09):
Yes.

Speaker 8 (06:10):
Yeah, I know that's like really harsh to say about somebody.
And I don't even usually talk to frankly about anybody.

Speaker 6 (06:18):
But I watch a lot of.

Speaker 8 (06:21):
True crime shows and listen to a lot of podcasts,
so I like to think that i'm pretty uh, you know,
alert and when I see red flags. And so during
during the date, it was going fine whatever. We were
playing darts and I was winning. And I don't think

(06:41):
he likes that very much because by accident, he got
hot sauce in my eye. Okay, no, no, no, because
as you know, you're eating ways, you wipe off, you
play your duds, you eat wings, your fingers off. But
for some particular reason, when he goes to to wipe

(07:05):
hair away from my face or my eyes so that
I could see better for my turn, he happened to
have a huge glove of hot sauce on the stump
and went right into my eye.

Speaker 6 (07:16):
And then and then it was weird. So but then
he said something that really freaked.

Speaker 8 (07:20):
Me out, and he kept laughing too about it, like
I was, you know, he was laughing, laughing, which I
thought was rude because I was obviously uncomfortable.

Speaker 6 (07:29):
But he says, to me, at least it was just
hot sauce. You should see the other guy.

Speaker 8 (07:35):
I played darts with, like the guy I last played
darts with. And I'm thinking, I don't know what that means,
did you I don't know what that means. No, no, no,
because I.

Speaker 6 (07:45):
Didn't want I don't want to know anything else.

Speaker 8 (07:47):
I just knew right then that I was going to
politely say I had to go, you know, call it
a knight and go home and and just you know,
wash my face off properly.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (07:59):
So yeah, that was That was my date with Brice.

Speaker 7 (08:02):
You think it was a joke or that he really
meant it, who knows?

Speaker 6 (08:06):
Who knows. I didn't want to stick around long enough
to find out.

Speaker 4 (08:08):
But if you had a glob on his finger, that
makes me feel like it's intentional but if it was
just it's easy to accidentally get hot saze in your eye.

Speaker 7 (08:16):
I've done it a lot, not on purpose, my own eyes,
my own eye.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
Yeah, I've gotten house lost in my own eye a
lot too, But I don't think i've ever rubbed it
in someone else's. No, well, let's ask him, Crystal, because
he's actually on the phone listening and wants to talk
to you.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
What.

Speaker 7 (08:29):
Oh great, Okay, Bryce, are you still there?

Speaker 3 (08:33):
Hey, hey Crystal, Hi Bryce, Hi.

Speaker 6 (08:39):
One.

Speaker 3 (08:40):
I'm sorry I came off as a serial killer, but
I promise I'm not.

Speaker 6 (08:48):
Okay, that's that's a very very convincing price.

Speaker 7 (08:52):
I think most cereal kills would probably promise they weren't
at first.

Speaker 5 (08:55):
I'm sorry, I'm laughing because that's just not anything I
expected to hear today.

Speaker 7 (08:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
No, I don't even like killing bugs. And I put
on a lot of chapstick and had a nervous tick
about it. And it's because I wanted to kiss you.
So if that behavior made you feel like I was
a serial killer, it was. It wasn't because of that.
It was because I was just nervous and I could

(09:21):
tell you were shy, so I wanted you to feel comfortable.
You didn't even have any professionally profiled.

Speaker 6 (09:28):
You at ease, Okay, I I have one. Yeah, how
do you do that?

Speaker 7 (09:36):
Yeah, we can figure it out and google it and
figure it out.

Speaker 6 (09:40):
Hey, if if if the radio station that you had.

Speaker 8 (09:43):
Called me this morning can help me professionally profile you,
then I'd be happy to go on another dam with you.

Speaker 4 (09:49):
Before we agree to the profiling. Right, what happened to
the other guy?

Speaker 7 (09:54):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (09:55):
Oh, he was just was a sore loser, that's all.
Like I was just trying to impress her, that's it.

Speaker 7 (10:00):
And what happens to sore losers, Nothing happens.

Speaker 3 (10:06):
They just lose and they go on with their life.
I'm not hiding in my mom's basement.

Speaker 6 (10:12):
Yeah. Yeah, you made it sound like you stabbed him
with the dart.

Speaker 3 (10:15):
No, it's trying to come.

Speaker 6 (10:16):
Up as cool.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
Clearly that didn't work, Crystal. Would you like to go
on another day with Bryce? We'll pay for it. I
don't know if we can find someone to profile them,
if it's a seria kill or not, but we can
work on it if you're seriously Yeah, yeah, if you're.

Speaker 6 (10:29):
Willing to pay, then then I'm down.

Speaker 8 (10:32):
I'm done, But I have one request for Bryce. I
have one request is that next time you put your
chapstick on, don't stare at me weirdly while you're doing it.
And then and then we'll be we'll be good. Okay,
and uh I'll take you this time. Get the hot sauce.

Speaker 6 (10:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (10:51):
I got one request to leading up to our day.
I would like it if maybe you laid off the
true crime, maybe watching rom Com or something. Definitely maybe another.

Speaker 6 (11:05):
Good Oh but those aren't factual. Wait.

Speaker 5 (11:10):
I have a request to before this next date, Crystal,
make sure you share your location with somebody.

Speaker 4 (11:15):
Oh.

Speaker 6 (11:18):
Absolutely, I'll let you know.

Speaker 7 (11:20):
Congratulation.
