Speaker 1 (00:00):
First day to follow up powered by the Advocates Injury
Attorneys online at Advocateslaw dot com.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Byron is on the phone today for a first date
follow up, and he's getting ghosted by a woman named Taylor.
So in a few minutes we'll call her and see
if she'll tell us why she's ghosting him and maybe
get him a second date. But first, Byron, how long
has it been since he talked to Taylor?

Speaker 3 (00:21):
She's been ghosting me for like eight days.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Oh, not like you're counting or anything.

Speaker 4 (00:27):
Well, I tell you it's hard not to.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
I really liked hanging out with her.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
I'm sorry that sucks. How did you guys leave it
at the end of the day.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
At the end of the day, it all was cool.

Speaker 4 (00:37):
You know. We got a light kiss, nothing too crazy,
but it really seemed like things we're going to go
well and move forward.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
Okay, Well, tell us about the date then.

Speaker 4 (00:46):
So we went out, and because she's got this whole
white we met at a fault that's the little thing, right,
And so she had this whole autumn aesthetic, you know,
the messy bonds get sitting in La olsta. And I
really liked her energy, so I was kind of thinking, oh,
let's do something fall thing.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
You know.

Speaker 4 (01:09):
She was playful, seeing spontaneous and a little flirty. So
I was like, oh, you know what, why don't we
go apple picking? It's going to be perfect for this
time of year. I've never gone on it for a
date too. But she said that she likes doing stuff
that feels like a movie saying. So I'm like, oh, perfect,
I can.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
Be your lead.

Speaker 4 (01:28):
And then right so we you know, we go to
the place.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
We're having a good time.

Speaker 4 (01:34):
You know, we took a bunch of pictures, but where
I think things probably went wrong.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
Later on, I.

Speaker 4 (01:41):
Started, I climb a tree right because I see this apple.
I'm like, ooh, this apple is gonna be perfect for her.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
So I climb up there to grab it. The branch
I'm sitting on cracks, I fall and I broke my wrists.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
Oh.

Speaker 4 (01:55):
I realized it was broken the next day, right, because
I tough help throughout the whole rest of the date.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
But I was like, oh, this is bad, this is bad.
I played it off. I played it cool.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
Are you okay? Did you get a cast? As you
go to doctor and risk is bad?

Speaker 3 (02:14):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (02:14):
The next day I did go and they put me
in a cast, you know, not a big one. It's
just my wrist. But you know, we kind of laughed
it off when I did get hurt. But you know,
my hoodie was covered in dirt, so I looked stupid,
ended up being a mess.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
I really felt like we could still move forward, you know.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
Sure, okay, And how did it go after that?

Speaker 3 (02:38):
After that? You know, ultimately it was a cute recovery.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
We had grape bye. You know, we even did, like
I said, I got a little kiss at the end
of the night.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
But now my text have been unanswered.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
Does she act a little different like at any point
in the night or she just seemed the same.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
Well, she was definitely shook, and uh she was up,
was shaken up. You know when I fell, She's, oh
my god, you okay?

Speaker 4 (03:02):
And I said, I'm good, I'm good, I'm fine, I'm fine.

Speaker 5 (03:05):
You can handle it, okay, you know.

Speaker 4 (03:08):
But so I think she was like worried, you know, worried,
but not like grossed out, you know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
Yeah, maybe she just thought you were a click one
of those clumsy types and doesn't want to deal with it.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
Oh, because I'm really not. It was the one time.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Well, what do you think the reason is that she's
ghosting you?

Speaker 4 (03:26):
Then?

Speaker 3 (03:28):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
The only thing I can think is that there were
people around when I fell, so it was probably embarrass
okay to be with the guy that just fell out
of the tree.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
I would think that would be awesome. Be like, yeah,
I with the guy that fell out of the tree.
All right, Well, we'll see if we can figure it
out for you. We'll play a song, come back and
call her and see if she'll tell us why she's
ghosting you, and maybe get.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
You a second date if you still want one.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
Okay, oh, thank you.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
Yeah, we'll get to your first day follow up next.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
Fred.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
Middle of your first day follow up, and if you're
just joining us, Byron is on the phone and Byron
is getting ghosted by Taylor. So we're about to call
her and see if she'll tell us why she's ghosting
him and maybe get him a second date. Before we
do that, Byron break down your date again for us
real quick.

Speaker 4 (04:22):
So we went apple picking, had a great time, but
I fell out of the tree trying to get the
perfect apple. I'm thinking that might have been too embarrassing
for her.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
Did break your head?

Speaker 3 (04:38):
I did, but I will again.

Speaker 4 (04:40):
I found out that I broke my wrist the next
day because I played it off cool and I mean
I acted like it wasn't bad.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
Behead.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
Are you ready for us to call her?

Speaker 3 (04:49):
Yes? Please?

Speaker 1 (04:51):
All right, here we go.

Speaker 5 (05:04):
Hello.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
Hi, I mean I speak to Taylor. Please.

Speaker 4 (05:07):
Hi?

Speaker 5 (05:07):
This is Taylor.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
Who is this Taylor? How are you? This is a
radio show. It's called The Jubile Show. Hi, Taylor. I'm Nina.

Speaker 5 (05:13):
I'm not sure I have ah wait is this this
is on the radio?

Speaker 6 (05:17):
No?

Speaker 5 (05:18):
No, no, no, I did not sign up for Radio Today.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
What No, Yeah, you Today necessarily sign up for it.
But we did get an email about you from about
me from one of our listeners.

Speaker 5 (05:31):
Okay, tell me more please.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Well, we do a segment on the show that's called
the First Date follow Up. That's where if you go
out on a date with somebody and end up ghosting them,
they can ask us to get you on the phone
and find out why you're ghosting them. So it's somebody
that you're ghosting.

Speaker 5 (05:49):
Okay. So it's like a detective work kind of thing,
is that right?

Speaker 2 (05:54):
Yeah, So we're doing a little detective work to see
if you can tell us why you're ghosting somebody needs
I think a media.

Speaker 5 (05:59):
Hey, yeah, all right, can you give me more maybe
a little bit?

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Who do you think it is? Are you ghosting somebody?

Speaker 5 (06:08):
I mean sort of, I guess kind of, yeah, I
mean sort of. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
Okay, well, do you want to tell us their name
and we'll tell you if that's the person that email us?

Speaker 6 (06:19):
Okay, uh, okay, it's it's this guy Byron. We went
on this We went on a date recently and it
was mostly fun, but then some weird stuff kind of
happened and I was just it was a little okay,
I don't know how to like say this exactly, but

(06:40):
he has this like toxic masculinity thing happening. So that's
kind of what's up, if that makes sense.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
We talked, you know, we talked him about your date.
Didn't hit me as a toxically masculine dude. I guess
that's how you would say it, But like, why do
you say that?

Speaker 5 (06:57):
So did he tell you, like about the date.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
Or what happened a little bit?

Speaker 6 (07:01):
Yeah, okay, So we were apple picking, which is like
a really cute date, and we were having a good time,
but it was like I think he was trying to
maybe show off for me or something, and he climbed,
like climbed into this tree to get an apple, and
then he fell.

Speaker 5 (07:22):
It was like a pretty bad fall.

Speaker 6 (07:24):
He was pretty high up and it was like he
saw it was like cartoon sound effects.

Speaker 5 (07:29):
Level fall, you know, like going back, like all this stuff.

Speaker 6 (07:32):
And I went over to help him, and he kept
like waving me away and saying stuff like I'm a man,
I can handle it.

Speaker 5 (07:40):
I'm a man.

Speaker 6 (07:41):
Oh cool, like like it was a bad drop.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
Hey, Taylor, that's Byron. He's actually on the phone and
wants to talk to you.

Speaker 5 (07:52):
Byron Byron, are you on this call? You're so he's
there too?

Speaker 3 (07:57):
Yeah, okay, I mean because it wasn't even really that bad.

Speaker 6 (08:03):
You know, Byron, Byron, you landed, Okay, do you remember
what you said? You landed on your back and you
said pain is weakness leaving the body.

Speaker 4 (08:14):
Oh but you I mean, I know I've said that.
But in my defense, I thought it kind of sounded cool, and.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
I didn't want to look stupid in front of the
orchard guy.

Speaker 4 (08:26):
Like the dude had a beard and an axe, and
like I could not look so I.

Speaker 6 (08:33):
Didn't even hold cider, like you couldn't hold the cider
in your hand because it was so messed up. And
I kept trying to ask you if you needed ice
or something, and you you kept saying.

Speaker 5 (08:43):
Stuff about real men, like you were listening to a podcast.
Real men don't need ice. I'm like, come on, I mean, because.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
Yeah, it was kind of a pride injury.

Speaker 5 (08:54):
You know, you can still get ice for your wrist.
That's mesup.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
Hey wait a.

Speaker 4 (09:01):
Minute, Okay, so you ghosted me because I didn't want
you to see me cry over my wrist.

Speaker 5 (09:08):
Yeah, I mean it was bad.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
Is it?

Speaker 5 (09:11):
Are you okay?

Speaker 6 (09:12):
Seriously?

Speaker 3 (09:13):
I mean it's just I mean, it's just a broken wrist.
I'll be fine.

Speaker 5 (09:17):
It's broken, broke your wrist.

Speaker 6 (09:22):
Knew it was gone. Oh okay, what Look that's crazy
and you're not let me get you ice or take
you to the doctor.

Speaker 3 (09:31):
I only look, I'm gonna be fine.

Speaker 4 (09:33):
I mean I only need the cast for like six weeks.

Speaker 3 (09:36):
And you said you like car guys.

Speaker 5 (09:39):
Okay, I like, yes, I do. I like consonant guys.
I don't like delusional guys. I knew you were hurt,
you like you wouldn't let.

Speaker 6 (09:50):
Me get you ice you wouldn't let me help you
at all. Like I wasn't trying to ask you.

Speaker 5 (09:55):
I wasn't asking you like will you marry me? I
was like do you want ice? Like those are two
different questions and it was crazy.

Speaker 3 (10:02):
Fyron, Well, I'm sorry.

Speaker 4 (10:06):
There's nothing sexy about saying, oh kid, somebody get me
an ice pack, Like.

Speaker 5 (10:12):
Okay, well, let me tell you this.

Speaker 6 (10:14):
There is something sexy about being vulnerable and knowing when
you need help, right, Like you don't need to pretend
that you're fine. That's not that's not attractive, like pretending
that things are okay when they're not. You can oh yeah,
if you guys coming to a girl saying oh it's fine,

(10:34):
it's fine, you're doing the same thing.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
Okay, maybe I overdid it.

Speaker 4 (10:40):
I still looked good climbing in a tree though, Okay.

Speaker 3 (10:49):
I mean maybe.

Speaker 5 (10:50):
But then he's until he was like screaming.

Speaker 6 (10:53):
I'm fine and like rolling around falling down.

Speaker 4 (10:58):
Hey, gravity just could handle me a right, can handle
all my energy?

Speaker 3 (11:03):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 5 (11:04):
Byron, you're still doing it.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
You can't some one. You can't blame me. You are
the type of woman a man with ball four.

Speaker 1 (11:15):
Oh, there's vulnerability. There's more of a line Byron get
a little bit more horrible.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
I cried at the hospital.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
Would you like another date with Byron? We'll pay for it.
I mean that was pretty you know, he really let
us in right there. So what was going on?

Speaker 1 (11:38):
Maybe you know, to help him up?

Speaker 6 (11:41):
Okay, I'm not I'm not saying you have to cry
on the date, but just don't pretend everything's okay, and
maybe stay out of trees and no quotes from gym
posters or podcasts.

Speaker 4 (11:56):
Okay, okay, deal, I'll just all for you, but from
ground level.
