Speaker 2 (00:07):
Lucas is on the phone today for a first date
follow up and he's getting ghosted by Ella. So we're
gonna see if we can figure out why she's ghosting
and when we call her in just a second. But first, Lucas,
how long has it been since you heard from Ella?
Speaker 3 (00:20):
It's been like a week week.
Speaker 4 (00:23):
So did you try contacting her after the date or
was that the last time you guys spoke.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
I did contact her after and I hadn't heard from her.
There was no response.
Speaker 4 (00:32):
Can you tell us about the date?
Speaker 3 (00:34):
Yeah? So, well the way we met though, we'll do
that at the office party of the company that I
currently work at. Met there and we spent that night
just hanging out talking about oh why are you're saying
everything and this stuff, and I asked her to get
(00:57):
coffee a few days after that, and then that we did,
and I found she just like, really easy to talk to,
it really easy to get along with. I felt, you know,
I didn't feel like I had to try so hard
with her. She was really easy going and gorgeous. It's
funny time and yeah, and so then I did ask
(01:23):
her out again after And I just never heard of that.
Speaker 4 (01:28):
You said you met her at an office party. Could
she be one of your bosses that you just don't
know as your boss?
Speaker 3 (01:36):
I have no idea. I mean, like I I don't
even know if she works with the company. Well, she
said that she was a guest of someone at the party,
so that's all I know.
Speaker 4 (01:48):
Okay.
Speaker 5 (01:49):
Was there anything that happened on the date that was
kind of awkward or weird that would make her maybe
not want to talk to you again?
Speaker 4 (01:55):
No, obviously you're lovely, Lucas. This isn't you know that, Lucas?
Speaker 3 (02:01):
Well, I mean, I do have a tendency sometimes when
I'm talking, I raised my voice a little without realizing,
speaking a little bit louder than usual. And okay, I
like sometimes I get a little excited when I talk her.
I guess when I get really happy, I sometimes I
(02:23):
don't realize the volume of my voice should be a
little lower.
Speaker 4 (02:26):
I can't control the volume of my voice. So you're
saying you yelled at her. She may not have realized
that was normal.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
Oh oh god, I hope she didn't think I I
was the onelling at her for any reason I had.
I had no reason to yell at her. But if
I my voice was a little louder than usual than
I apologize.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
Okay, Well, I mean that could be you know, maybe
she thought you. You know, some people are very uncomfortable
with loud people. Yeah, in general, that could have been it.
Speaker 5 (02:54):
I think I'm still kind of suspect as to who
she was even at that party with going back to
like the other thing, because we don't know if it's
like one of her friends. Maybe her friends got a
crush on you, you know, like maybe you're just like off
limits or something.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
Oh I never thought of myself as off limits before.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
Time to start to hit yourself that way, big boy.
All right, man, Well, let's play a song come Back,
and then we'll call her and see if we can
get her to tell us why she's ghosting you and
maybe get you another date.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
Okay, Okay, so I'm good, All right, plays song.
Speaker 4 (03:24):

everybody's memory on the situation with Ella.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
Yeah. So I met Ella at a party in office
party at the company that I work at. She was
someone's guests there, and we spend that whole night, you know,
talking to get know each other. And then I asked
her to get coffee a few days later, and we did.
But then after that coffee date, we just I never
(04:09):
work from her again, even though I asked her if
she wanted to go again and nothing. And I thought
she was great. I thought she was beautiful and funny
and no, sweet.
Speaker 4 (04:19):
Let's find out why she's ghosting you. Ready to call her?
Speaker 3 (04:21):

win in.
Speaker 4 (04:54):
Something or ella?

We got an email about you from somebody you want
on a date with. This is a first date follow up.
I'm guessing you know what that is.
Speaker 6 (05:03):
I do, I do, but I haven't been on that
many dates lately, so I'm curious.
Speaker 4 (05:11):
Well, his name is Lucas.
Speaker 7 (05:14):
I remember Lucas.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
Okay, and Lucas emailed us because he said he really
liked you, but you've been ghosting him.
Speaker 4 (05:19):
Can you tell us why?
Speaker 7 (05:23):
I didn't mean to ghost him.
Speaker 6 (05:25):
I have been a little slow to respond, though, I'm
sorry about that.
Speaker 7 (05:31):
I should have texted him back.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
So you're.
Speaker 6 (05:36):
It looks like it's a bit of a weird situation,
and I wasn't.
Speaker 7 (05:41):
I've been like confused as to how to proceed. See,
it's even like hard for me to like finish that sentence.
Speaker 4 (05:49):
You're making this real sketchy. What's going on?
Speaker 6 (05:52):
I met him at like a work party, but I
went with my dad to his work party, and my
dad is his boss.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
So your dad's Lucas's boss. Yeah, And does your dad
have a rule you don't you don't date the help?
Speaker 8 (06:21):
Yeah, I mean it's not that, but it's but yeah,
my dad is kind of a heart and he's very
like all business.
Speaker 6 (06:33):
It's like all he talks.
Speaker 7 (06:34):
About he's I mean, I wouldn't want.
Speaker 6 (06:37):
To work for him. He's my dad, but.
Speaker 7 (06:39):
He's like a tough, tough guy. I don't know.
Speaker 6 (06:44):
I kind of had figured it out earlier, but I
didn't say anything because we were having such a nice time.
And then I felt awkward about that, and then I
was just like it was like a hot potato.
Speaker 7 (06:57):
I didn't know what to do, so I I should
have texted back, but it was like, how do you
text that? Like, Hey, my dad's your boss.
Speaker 6 (07:05):
I feel like I feel like that's going to get
awkward real quick. So I wasn't sure quite how to
how to put that in text form.
Speaker 7 (07:13):
It seems like a lot a lot for a.
Speaker 4 (07:15):
Text speaking of getting awkward real quick. I mean, you
listen to the show, so I'm assuming that you forgot
a part of this.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
What did I forgets Lucas is on the phone listening
and then this whole time wasn't talk.
Speaker 6 (07:27):
To Hey, I did forget that.
Speaker 7 (07:37):
Hey, Lucas, I I.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
Apologize, you know what I'm I'm uh, it's understandable.
Speaker 9 (07:48):
I what are the odds that I be interested in
the boss's daughter. So, so, Mike's your dad.
Speaker 3 (07:59):
Huh, what are the odds? Yeah, yeah, well I know,
but still no, and I didn't.
Speaker 6 (08:14):
I didn't think you were, and that's why I was
a bit at a loss for how to how to
tell you that. But no, I really enjoy hanging out
with you too. It's just I should have said something
when I figured it out, But yeah, I didn't want
to because I was having a nice time too.
Speaker 7 (08:33):
But then I don't know. I mean, you you know
how he is so and I'm I'm.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
Yeah, he's definitely a great at his job.
Speaker 6 (08:43):
Great At that time, A very diplomatic answer, Lucas, I promise,
I promised.
Speaker 7 (08:52):
He's not in the room with me.
Speaker 3 (08:58):
I had a great time with view, and I completely
understand now. But you know, I'm still open to going
on a second date with you if you are. I really,
you know, enjoyed your company, no pun intended.
Speaker 6 (09:15):
Yeah, I mean I I really had a good time
with you too, But I I am a little concerned
that it just might get really awkward. I don't want
anything to affect your job, not that nothing that it would,
but also you know understandably, you know you want to
(09:37):
you know, go out after a day at work and like,
you know, talk about work, and I just I feel
like that could get really weird. And and also you know,
I don't want I don't want.
Speaker 7 (09:50):
My dad to like look at nothing that he would.
Speaker 6 (09:53):
But I just don't want to create like a weird
situation for you at work. And I don't want to
create a weird, you know, potential aiding situation for for
me or for for us.
Speaker 3 (10:05):
I under yeah, I understand, I get that. You know,
if you want, I can speak to the mike, speak
to your dad about this and let him know that
I am interested in you and I we can still
keep things that work professional between me and him, and
I don't need to bring my work life up like
into my dating life with you. I'd rather not talk
(10:28):
about work, uh while I'm out we're on a day
with you or anything like that, but I would like
to at least let him know so doesn't feel like
I'm doing it behind his back.
Speaker 4 (10:39):
Ella, would you like to go on another day with
lucas We'll pay for it.
Speaker 7 (10:44):
I mean, yeah, yeah, sure, I mean yeah, if you really,
if you don't think it'll it'll be too awkward or tricky.
Speaker 6 (10:54):
And I do think my dad would would appreciate that
if you're and honestly, if you're up for sitting down
with him and saying that, then I definitely think we
should go on a second name.
Speaker 4 (11:04):
Yeah, okay, it sounds like lovely. Lucas is an assertive
type guy I just love.
Speaker 5 (11:08):
For everybody listening, this is also a lesson when a
man is into you, you will know this guy is
ready to go and talk to your dad about wanting
to go on a date.
Speaker 4 (11:16):
And if some dude's not even texting you back, good point, I.
Speaker 3 (11:24):
