First Day to follow Up powered by the Advocates Injury
Attorneys online at dot com.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Emma is on the phone today for our first Day
follow up, and she's getting ghosted by a dude named Kyle.
So in a few minutes we'll call him and see
if he tells why he's ghosting her and maybe get
her another day. But first, Emma, how long has it
been since you heard from Kyle?
Speaker 3 (00:19):
Gosh?
Speaker 4 (00:19):
I want to say, it's been about like three weeks.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
Three or four weeks.
Speaker 5 (00:23):
Oh, it's been that long. Why do you want to
get a hold of him?
Speaker 4 (00:29):
Okay, I mean, if I can be totally honest, it's
because I know it's kind of cheasy to say because
it was just one day, but I really felt like
there was a connection, Like I really feel.
Speaker 3 (00:39):
Like there was something there.
Speaker 5 (00:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (00:43):
Yeah, I mean the date went so well, and you know,
we did like a whole escape room thing.
Speaker 6 (00:48):
Which I thought would be pretty fun fun.
Speaker 3 (00:50):
Yeah yeah, I mean I.
Speaker 4 (00:52):
Love solving puzzles, and you know, it seemed like we
were both really working well together. You know, I was
kind of the brains, he was kind of like the
muscle moving stuff around, helping us, you know, tall clues
and it just felt like, I don't know, it almost
didn't even feel like it was a first date. We
you know, even let so much time pass that it
(01:15):
was like past dinner time and we hadn't ate anything yet,
so then we decided to like stop and get somebody
to eat. It was so casual.
Speaker 3 (01:25):
I am.
Speaker 4 (01:26):
I'm very much a person who kind of overthinks on
the first date, and I get very nervous usually, but
I didn't feel anything like that with Kyle. I feel
like he was also kind of feeling the vibe too,
and the way he was looking at me and talking
to me and telling me things. Yeah, I just I
(01:46):
felt so safe and comfortable.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
And it's always so hard to know that you feel
that way, and it's kind of like it's impossible that
the other person didn't feel something right, Like don't you
always feel that way exactly?
Speaker 3 (01:59):
Yeah, what could.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
Have been the reason why he's disappeared now? If it
was that intense.
Speaker 4 (02:05):
I've really been trying to pin this down, and I mean,
I'm not totally sure, but the only thing that I
can kind of think of is that I can sometimes
get a little bit into the games, like I do
get competitive to a certain point. But I did tell
him this in advance, and I tried to kind of
(02:27):
just brush it off in more of like a flirtatious way,
Like there was one puzzle that he just wasn't getting,
Like it was, you know, like a word clue thing,
and it was so obvious to me, and he just
wasn't getting it, and I just joked with him. I
was like, well, you're lucky, you're so pretty, you know, like.
Speaker 6 (02:48):
Well, okay, I didn't say that, but and it's my
own fault, like I know, I probably could have done
better about that, but that's the only thing that I
can think of.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
Okay, Well, how did it end with him?
Speaker 3 (03:05):
I mean I thought it ended so well.
Speaker 4 (03:08):
We didn't like fully confirm going on a second day,
but we both said the whole like, oh, you know,
like I had a great time. I'd like to do
it again sometime. And we both said that at the end,
and we exchanged you know, like we still had you know,
our phone numbers and stuff. And then I tried to
text him the next day and I didn't hear anything.
(03:31):
And then I tried again, you know, a couple of
days later, and then nothing, and I did try again,
you know, a few more times, but I haven't.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
Yeah, I will say.
Speaker 7 (03:43):
If there's one thing I normally hear on all these
it said after every single time they go on a
first day they everyone.
Speaker 5 (03:49):
Says like, oh, Mars, like we should this again some time,
or like, yeah, that's polite.
Speaker 7 (03:53):
I think it's honestly just a polite thing people say,
because I've said it before, knowing that I.
Speaker 5 (03:57):
Was like, huh, so, I don't know.
Speaker 7 (04:00):
It sucks because you, like you thought it was a
really great date, and you in your head is like, oh,
he wants to go see me again.
Speaker 5 (04:06):
But at the same time, he could just be doing
it to be polite. Well, that's heart breaking.
Speaker 8 (04:11):
That's been sad. I know.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
That's like, Emma, we'll see if we can figure it
out for you. We'll play a song come back, and
then call him and see if he'll tell us why
he's ghosting you and maybe get to another date.
Speaker 3 (04:21):
Okay, all right, I appreciate it, guys.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
All right, Yeah, first thing, follow up. Right in the
middle of today's first day follow up, and if you're
just joining us, Emma is on the phone and she's
getting ghosted by Kyle. So we're about to call him
and see if he'll tell us why he's ghosting her
and maybe get her another date. But first, Emma, why
don't you break down your date for us a war time?
Speaker 4 (04:44):
Yeah, Kyle and I went out a few weeks ago.
We had a great first date. We did an escape room,
we had you know, dinner afterwards. It felt like we
were both on the same page. We were vibing, we
were laughing, we were having fun, and we both said
that we were wanting to see each other again. But
then I never heard back from him.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
All right, well he did kind of imply that he
wasn't the smartest.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
So yeah, there was that.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
All right, Well, you're ready for us to see if
we can figure it out?
Speaker 3 (05:16):
Yeah, I'm ready.
Speaker 8 (05:17):
Okay, Hey is Kyle, Kyle?
Speaker 2 (05:30):
How are you? This is a radio show. It's called
The Jubil Show.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
Hi Kyle, my name is Nina.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
Hi, I'm Victoria, and I'm Jebel.
Speaker 8 (05:36):
How's it going, Hey, guys, it's going, it's going. It's
going pretty good. How's it going good?
Speaker 1 (05:43):
Thank you for asking.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
Have you ever listened to the show before?
Speaker 3 (05:47):
Yeah, a little bit.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
Well, we do a segment on the show called the
first eight follow Up, So where if you go out
on a date with somebody and you ghost them, they
can email us to call you and figure out why
you're ghosting them. So we got an email about you
from somebody, Kyle, that's why we're calling.
Speaker 9 (06:00):
Uh huh yeah, yeah for sure, I think I uh,
I think I've been familiar with it.
Speaker 8 (06:06):
Let me guess she's been texting me a ton.
Speaker 3 (06:10):
Uh no surprises on this?
Speaker 8 (06:12):
Is it? Is it?
Speaker 9 (06:13):
Emma?
Speaker 2 (06:14):
Yes? It is Emma. Do you have time to tell
us why you're ghostinger?
Speaker 9 (06:19):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (06:22):
Yeah, I guess.
Speaker 9 (06:23):
Look, I mean look, I mean I don't know.
Speaker 3 (06:26):
I mean, the day was really fun. I thought it was.
I thought it was a good time.
Speaker 9 (06:29):
I mean she was really really gorgeous. I think she means, well,
I'm just kind of uh, I don't know, I'm bum
because I mean I was pretty attracted to her. I
was like really feeling something with her, and uh, it
turns out, I don't know, it's kind of crazy, but
she's like a this is a pretty specific kind of girl,
and it just kind of rubs me the wrong way,
sort of right.
Speaker 3 (06:49):
So after our day, she she sends me, she sends.
Speaker 9 (06:52):
Me a Venmo request for half of our Uber ride
people that send like venmo requests without like a head up.
That's like a different kind of passive aggressive and ride
that was like twenty five bucks, so like I paid
it and I just kind of checked out with her.
Speaker 10 (07:09):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (07:09):
Wait, wait a minute, sorry, that's the reason why you
ghosted me.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
Hey, Kyle, that's that much. She's on the phone and
wants to talk to you.
Speaker 4 (07:16):
By the way, Yeah, I did jump in like it
was your you're you ghosted me over twelve dollars and
fifty cents?
Speaker 5 (07:24):
Did you send them?
Speaker 3 (07:26):
I mean I did, It's.
Speaker 10 (07:28):
What ye was like.
Speaker 9 (07:29):
I didn't sorry, I didn't even make it. I didn't
even to make like a big thing or anything like that. Yeah,
it just it's just it's still kind of weird, dude.
Speaker 3 (07:38):
I don't know, but you made it a.
Speaker 4 (07:40):
Big thing like it's it was a twenty five dollars ride,
like I was. I just supposed to just not like
just deal with it like it was a first date.
I feel like that's just a very common expense expectancy
to like split things.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
Did you guys split everything else on the date?
Speaker 5 (07:58):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (07:59):
My thing is this is.
Speaker 9 (08:00):
My thing though, is so to me, this has like
nothing to do with like the money, Like I don't
care about this splitting the money, the fees, the twenty
five dollars, but I don't even care about that. To
me is like this is a communication thing. Do you
kind of know what I mean by that? So it's
like we hadn't even had our first post first date
conversation before You're like sending me these Venmo requests without
(08:23):
like hitting me up about like or even just texting
me or even just like talking to me. It felt like,
I don't know that could be like our future, right,
It's just passive aggressive comments, actions and stuff like that.
I really, I just I can't really handle that. I'm
kind of good. I'm an adult and I appreciate straightforward communications,
just to be honest about it.
Speaker 7 (08:43):
So would you have rather her text you and be like, hey,
do you mind if I send you a Venmo request
for the uber?
Speaker 5 (08:48):
I'd like, would that have solved this issue for you?
Speaker 3 (08:51):
I don't know, because like I would have rather heard.
Speaker 9 (08:54):
I guess in my head I kind of want her
to have just dropped it at least until where having
like regular conversations for a little while and then it's like, hey,
you want to send me some money for.
Speaker 4 (09:06):
That uber, right, you just said that's the money. You
just said the money wasn't an issue, But now you're
saying it is an issue because I mean, I think
for my food and like everything, all I did was
sent a request.
Speaker 3 (09:20):
I didn't demand it from you.
Speaker 4 (09:21):
I was and you could have just texted me and said, hey,
what's up with the Venmo request?
Speaker 3 (09:25):
You didn't respond to me at all? How is that
an adult mature thing?
Speaker 9 (09:30):
I mean, even if you would have demanded it from me,
that would have been more straightforward communications.
Speaker 10 (09:35):
So I feel like I would have preferred that even over, Like,
I just don't like the passive aggressive venmot thing, dude,
like this is it's like a type of person that
communicates and operates through the Venmo transactions like that, And
it's not me.
Speaker 9 (09:49):
I'm just not I'm not into it.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
It was a turn off.
Speaker 1 (09:51):
But do you think you're a passive aggressive person in general?
Speaker 4 (09:55):
No? No, I'm definitely not. I don't know what kind
of specific person you're like looking for in terms of
wanting something like that. But you could have also just
communicated that that was an issue. Like you're boasting about
being a mature adult and communication is important to you,
but you did the exact opposite of what you just said.
(10:17):
So I'm looking for somebody who can actually follow through
with their own principles.
Speaker 9 (10:21):
I needed to send it them a request, like to
someone after a date, all out of the loop.
Speaker 3 (10:26):
I just think it's kind of weird in this economy.
Speaker 5 (10:29):
How is that weird?
Speaker 9 (10:31):
If you're if you're if you need the money or whatever.
I guess I get that or whatever, but it's for me,
it's to turn off.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
I'm sorry about it.
Speaker 8 (10:38):
It just is what it is.
Speaker 7 (10:39):
You said that you would have rather bring it up later,
but I feel like it'd been more awkward if she
would have brought it up later and randomly.
Speaker 9 (10:47):
Well, okay, how about we try this right, Like, why
don't you tell me how much your time was worth
for the date and I'll reimburse.
Speaker 4 (10:54):
You for it.
Speaker 3 (10:57):
Wow?
Speaker 4 (10:59):
No, you know I don't want money, you know, I
just I mean, if you want to pay me, like,
you know, give me one hundred and fifty bucks. But
to be honest, I don't think you can even afford that.
Speaker 5 (11:12):
Oh okay, all right.
Speaker 9 (11:15):
I'm gonna Avenue will use three hundred right now, just
to show you I can afford it.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
Hey, Kyle, would you like to go on another date
with Emma? We'll pay for it.
Speaker 8 (11:28):
I'm thinking about it.
Speaker 9 (11:30):
I think I'm good, dough fam, I think we're good.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
Emma. You didn't get a second date, but hey, you
got three hundred bucks
Speaker 7 (11:38):
When in my book you will first date, follow up,
